Tomb Lord of Kronus, found discarded outside the fortress at North Vandea. Recovered by a servitor.

Please take note, if you are listening to this audiodiary without the permission of your chapter master or an inquisitor you are committing heresy. Heresy is a grave sin, but if you turn yourself in you may escape with your soul.

And don't think we can't find you. We know where you live, and we know you're listening.
    +++++

I have decided to record some of the history of our people... specifically the event that transformed us from the Necrontyr into the Necrons. My favored Pariah has taught me Gothic, as I figure that is the best choice. The Eldar would ignore it, the Tau would use it in propaganda, the Orks... well, they're Orks. The Tyranids care nothing for technology... or much else...

I suppose I ramble. I do not wish to revisit those events but... I feel it necessary.

We were arrogant. We were fools. Hateful fools. Our lives were short, our cities were more to contain the dead than they were to shelter the living. But we managed to grow. We struggled, clawed our way up from our silent dead and took to the stars.

Imagine the rage, then, when we came face to face with a race of nigh-immortal creatures. Thy had a mastery over technology... we had assumed our lifestyle was common. That was there another sentient race somewhere, we would share the hardships.

Instead we met these... these... brats. A spoiled species so accustomed to having the best genetics, best worlds... best everything handed to them. We reacted in jealousy. We declared war.

We were fools. We had living metal, the necrodermis, but they had skill. Mastery. Finesse. Capability... virility. They beat us. devastated us. We were swept to the side, to horrible worlds and beneath burning suns.
    >> Inquisitor Angricus 03/28/08(Fri)15:30 No.1423499
The suns. We thought of something to perhaps escape our de facto imprisonment. If we could harness the power of the stars, the stars that had ravaged our lives, perhaps we could turn it on those damned creatures. Those.... those... those lucky bastards. Our rage blinded us...

We found something else. Something so ancient it predated the 'Old Ones'. Beings so ancient they made our foes seem like children. We had found them near the stars... and they were powerful. Consuming the star... it was beautiful. They took that power into themselves. If we could recruit them... or study them... we had our weapon to turn on our hated foes.

So we fashioned a body of necrodermis for these star eaters, these Star Gods... the C'tan. Again our rage blinded us. We had assumed we could convince beings so ancient and powerful to aid us in our crusade against the Old Ones... hell, what had by then become our boiling crusade to annihilate all those privileged species. We let our fury blind us...

    We were fools.

At the time, those of us not consumed with centuries of passed down rage at the Old Ones were tired of living in exile due to the mistakes of our ancestors. I was among the latter. I helped fashion the first necrodermis body for these Star Gods... now our Gods. They were our release, our escape... our justice against the privileged.

The body became the mouth piece of the C'tan... the mouth piece of our gods. We huddled in the darkness of our main tomb world around the avatar of these mighty beings. They controlled us, prepared us for war. What they demanded, we gave.

Sometimes they would demand our lives... and we provided. We provided so willingly... I provided so willingly. When they asked for lives, my spouse and I brought our first son. We......

I... I will have to continue later...

    Second Audiodiary
    +++++

I have recollected my strength. I... I must continue. Perhaps the sorrow is proper for my crimes against my people. I had thought the passing millenia had dulled it...

We had... justified it to ourselves. He was young. He could not know... we would not remember... a child. A baby. We did not want him to grow up in war... we...

I... she... she did not hold the child, I did. I do not know what was going through her mind... perhaps the same as mine. Caution. Sorrow. But where the sacrafice left me more determined to destroy the Old Ones she became almost catatonic. She responded to me somewhat, but to all others she was silent.

We continued prepared. It was in the late stages of my life when we were prepared... and the C'tan proposed another plan. Something to aid us... to ensure our flayers would be brought against our hated enemies, the privileged. Our gods offered to transfer our souls into machines. I was first in line. I could not overcome my fury against the privileged. They had cost us so much... and for me, it felt as if they had cost me my son. A body was fashioned for me, one befitting a Necrontyr lord. The transfer was painful. It was like my soul was being set on fire and ripped apart. I could feel every bit of my soul fuse with the necrodermis.

It hurt, but I bore it with a grin. And with my new body I went to my spouse. I took her into my cold metal arms, and though I could not feel her I knew she was there. She shivered, she cried at my shape, but I calmed her. Convinced her of the necessity of it.
    >> Inquisitor Angricus 03/28/08(Fri)16:16 No.1423683
At first the C'tan had only offered the transfer to the best of our species. But soon the offer extended to all. I pushed for my love to join in the first wave. She resisted. Said she was afraid, worried. The Immortals were produced and she did not occupy one of the bodies. It took time, but soon she relented. I could sense her terror when the Immortals came to take her to her new body. I was called by the C'tan to the front lines, but I arranged for my wife to join me when she occupied a body of necrodermis.

I had personally crafted her's. Lovingly built it, inscribed the words of her favored poem into it... her favored gem on her ring finger... it was a beautiful thing.

I wish I had listenned to her terror... I wish I had listenned to her. I loved her, but since the death of our son we had grown distant. I... suppose I had hoped that for her to join me on the battlefield would reforge our relationship.

I was a fool... a damned fool. On one of the ships preparing to invade the Old Ones... my ship, I found out what had happened. The C'tan had preserved my mind for I was to lead.
    >> Inquisitor Angricus 03/28/08(Fri)16:16 No.1423684
But my love... my sweet love... my flower of metal... they had destroyed her's. I was down in the storage area, where I found thousands of Necrontyr sleeping. I searched, searched for hours to find her. I recognized first the gem, then the beautiful poetry on her arm... poetry like the tattoo she had in life. I clutched her face, whispered to her 'My love'. Her eyes burned green as she came to life, looked at me...

I spoke on end about the future. She did not respond. I expressed my love. She did not respond. I spoke of the battle coming. She did not respond. She stared. She stared on and on and through me...

And it was then I realized what had been done... what I had done. I had condemned her to confinement in this beautiful body of metal... the C'tan had taken her mind. I was meant to lead their puppets...

Heresy is heresy. There is no indication that any necron-tyr is indeed capable of feeling anything beyond vestiges of emotions.

Your effort is commendable but your necron lord sounds far too human, he needs to be more distant, more staccato. Think something like Jon Irenicus, his love has been ripped away from him, all he is capable of is the memory of that love, not the emotion itself.

Kinda the whole point is that they can't go into the warp. The C'Tan have no presence there, and they cannot exist within it. The entities of the warp terrify them. That's why they have such a hardon for stabilizing realspace and manufacturing Pariahs and the like - all the tasty, tasty, life force of a normal human, but without the pesky warp-presence that attracts daemons.

Yep, Eldrad's level of dickery has reached a new high, trying to pass this elfdar fanfic off as an Inquisitor report.

If Flayed ones can go insane I don't see why a Necron Lord can't angst

He was busy being a figurehead for the willing transformation.

The Immortals not talking much didn't phase him. It's just he knew
his wife would have responded to him. Admittedly, at the time he didn't know if her mind was wiped but he was certain she was at least trapped.

And again, he made it so he knew if it could talk or not.

Anyways, since this has gone well either more will be posted tomorrow in this thread or continued in a new thread.

    DnD calls.

You son-of-a-bitch. I bet you've never lost anything at all important to you, have you? "Less pathos"? Motherfucker, it's not emo if it's justified. Emo kids are middle class PRIVILEGED children who whine and whine about how life and their existance is unfair and how they wish they could just die. I know so many people like that it makes me sick. This neighborhood has become motherfucking emo haven. But what right do you have to call any sort of powerful emotion... "emo"? Do you even KNOW what it means anymore?

Good start, but as already said, the Lord seems too emotional. With the length of time and everything and countless battles, you'd think he'd be a bit more distant.
