    " November, 13th Moon , 656th year of Terra.

Central Command is gearing up, and the mobile order is due for 2 weeks. That means Kolstec becomes our staging grounds. Especially since we're sitting on the incident site.

The derelict Aeon detachment was all the confirmation we needed to speed up the attack schedule and finding the source of the vinculum gate had become in too few words, the overriding objective when taking over Voss.

    However... "

The door opens. An inquisitor and the steel clad Commanding Officer enters. A tight berth existing between them like a magnet's repulsive forces. Outside, the windows of the warehouse-turned HQ, MP was wheeling away some aeon and ragnyllian pilots from a smoked out hangar.

The Commander, angles her head up. The silence only waivered with her clenching teeth.

A concerted effort with Aeon Knights was a long shot at the least.

" On the night of Hallow's Eve, we were faced with plenty of disturbing revelations , Chief of which is the face of the true enemy. Demons from a plane outside of this realm. For such a feat we'd need all the help we can get. And just like that we got it. I had thought we were hit with a miracle, but I realize that it wont be that easy.

The division between you two only brings proof of the disparity between Ragnyll and Aeon, between Valknyre and the rest of the world. As such, we'll take the necessary precautions now To mix iron with blood, to forge steel and trust, and build a monument of respect with each other. Whether your silent crusade lasts a day or a century. "

    ....

" We'll undergo a friendly spar. Rubber bullets, rubber weapons, paint bombs, and padded mechanical rigs. This training exercise should be a simple task for all of you no ? "

    "Dismissed ! "

"Shouldn't we head back to the armory? I don't think Paisley will be able to keep a tight rein on those two."

"It can wait, Gwendolyn. There are things that need to be done yet." The two had made their way through the city, coming up through the final staircase that led through to cemetery.

It was quiet by the time they reached the top, the only sound being a light wind as it brushed past the duo. Swords, guns, staffs, and two crudely shaped crosses dotted the small area, dogtags dangling from the arrangement of monuments tinkling in the light wind.

Elias chose one of the more ornately decorated graves, kneeling before it and unfastening his helmet, laying it in front of the grave marker. "I cannot say that any of us knew you, and I cannot say with any level of credence that any of you showed up that day. But if there is anything I would like to say to you all, it is to say thank you, on behalf of me, my brothers, and my sisters. If it weren't for your appearance, many of us would not be here today." Iksender gripped his spear tighter. "May Alexander's light guide you as you pass on." Iksender began to utter a prayer of sanctification to the graves as the Neophyte looked on. The wind continued to blow.

The veteran templar could only smirk at the thought. His Siblings could use the continued battle experience as well as prove to the Ragnyllian's that they are not to be seen as anything less than true warriors of Aeon.

Daein stands alone along the riverbank, examining the remains of the dark ritual that took place. This was advanced sorcery indeed. Who, or whatever was responsible had departed, but the malice still hung in the air like the stench of death. He turns to see his Acolytes approaching from Kolstec.
Daein: Report. What information have you gained from questioning the populace?
Acolyte Pietro: Senior, it was as you suspected, the being responsible was indeed a Demon. According to the inhabitants and local garrison the fiend called himself 'Legion Asmodeus', The second Voss general of Terror. He was vanquished by the Hellghast unit, with support from what was described as artillery fire, in the shape of a holy symbol.
Daein: Excellent work, Pietro. Take the others, and await my arrival in camp. I must speak with the good Father who blessed the Ragnyllian artillery.

The Acolytes place their clenched fists over their hearts and bow, then set off at a brisk pace for camp. Their enthusiasm was not lost on the senior Templar, who despite his heavy new armor, made haste to arrange a meeting with House Father Zwei.

Daein thinks for a moment, and decides it would be best to include the Captain in his meeting with Father Zwei, and share his new-found information, courtesy of his clever acolytes, who had left their Aeoni heraldry and armor behind when they questioned the citizens of Kolstec.

He finds Captain Wight leaving the vehicle housing, following the guards who were escorting Kezare to his quarters.

"Good evening, Captain. I fear there is something which requires your attention...perhaps best said in private for now. Would you accompany me to the House Father's quarters?"

Wight walked away from the disaster that happened in the vehicle hanger, with thumb and fore finger rubbing his temple. The Brother-Captain was not pleased that on their first night as guests of Ragnyll that something like this happened, however the approaching figure of Daein snapped the templar out of his thoughts.

"Greetings Brother what is it that's on your mind this eve?"

Wight listens intently as Daein explains what he'd learned about what Hellghast had faced while they themselves fought for their lives. They spoke of what it could mean as they approach Father Zwei's quarters, perhaps the Father could explain further a few things about that battle.

"Do you really need to be pointing that grenade launcher at my face all the time? It's not like I can do much without my spear."

"Hey, man, I'm not likin' this job as much you like doin' your job." Paisley keeps the grenade launcher trained on Lucien as he polishes his armor. "Besides, it was your Brother-Veteran's orders that I keep an eye on you and your friend there." Paisley nods in the direction of the other Neophyte in the room--what was his name, Hiraklos?--before turning back to face Lucien.

Though it was easy to find the two Neophytes after they had ran off to the commotion in the hangar, it was a different matter entirely to try locating and detaining the Rook Benedictus. 'That had taken the better part of three hours,' Paisley reflected, yawning. Ever since these Aeon troops walked into the base, it seems like they haven't exactly been on good terms--the initial tensions weren't exactly helped by the fighting in the hangar. He shuffled, looking at the Neophyte named Lucien as he worked. He was young--couldn't have been older than eighteen, that girl--Gwendolyn, was that her name?--probably just as old. And he swore--on the Goddess he coulda sworn--he say some children in Aeon colours that marched in with the rest of the troops. Goddess Alive, what kind of a world is this, with children braving the fires of war? Were Aeon's footsoldiers always so young? Was there--

Paisley found his thoughts interrupted by the stamping of sabatons on the armory floor. He flicked up the grenade launcher toward the entrace, ready to fire--

To be met by the stern figure of the Brother-Veteran and the girl Neophyte that somehow acted as his aide-de-camp. "Oh! Sorry about pointin' that at you, sir."

    "Yes, sir. Of course, sir."

Paisley couldn't have walked out of the armory faster if it was on fire and exploding.

Armitage returns from her run around the town, sweaty and tired. Chugging water from her canteen, it looks like there's a lot more people on base than usual. After a moment's glance, noticing the amount of armor, swords, spears, and holy symbols present on them, she figures they must be Aeon.

"Huh. You could practically feel the bitch vibes radiating from that inquisitor, but these guys don't seem half bad. I wonder how everyone's getting along..." she idly ponders, wiping the sweat from her brow. On the way to the canteen to refill her water, she notices a bright piece of paper detailing a mock battle to encourage team building between the two forces. "Well there you go. How 'bout that. Hmm. I didn't fire a shot in the last battle, it'd be a shame to get rusty. And who knows, maybe pretending to inflict violence upon one another will be a good way to mingle. Don't really know many conversation starters that an Aeoni would appreciate..."

"Yes, Brother-Veteran." Lucien and Iraklis respond.

"Do you not remember one of my first lessons to you? Each of you is like an individual twig, I said--easily bent, easily broken. But together, you are as the trunk of a tree, strong, unyielding, and grand to behold. So tell me, my children--what was your fault today?"

"We had peered into others' business, when we should have kept to our own." Lucien replied

"We had disobeyed orders set upon us by our superiors." Iraklis bowed his head.

"And?" The veteran Templar raises an eyebrow.

"We had sought personal glory over the glory of Alexander," Lucien replied.

A smile returned to the veteran Templar's face. "So my teachings have been getting through. Well done." Iksender walked up to the two Neophytes, laying a gauntleted hand on each of their shoulders. "Stick to your teachings, my children, and you may survive this war yet."

"Hullo again, my little ladies and gents. It's your favorite little girl, Vosskon Blossom, once again--broadcasting to you live to all of Ragnyll, from the the capitol to the front-lines. How are things, you wretched devil-dogs you? Recently it's come to our ears that a few of those holy boys from Aeon have crossed over and are now residing in Kolstec. Watch out, you altar boys and gun-nuns--you might find more than what you're bargaining for when dealing with the Hellghast Armored Unit.

"But seriously, Aeon, why are you even fighting? This war has been none of your concern for the longest time. Pull out, retreat, it's none of your concern! If your Order wishes to find peace, they can find it under the flag of the Voss Empire. *Crash, another body went flying through a window.

"Is this all Ragnyll has to offer, Tsk" Sleyth commented

It had been a long day of "tryouts" and with each new challenger Sleyth became even more disheartened in his search to replenish his unit.

At midday he had entered what appeared to be the roughest tavern in Kolestec and offered a bag of Aeon gold to any fighter who could beat him. It was near dusk and so far he could even find one person who could offer the semblance of a challenge. But that wasn't what disappointed him, it was how easily the challengers gave up. The whole purpose of this endeavor was to find people who wanted strength not money. He knew none of these commoners could beat him, but he wasn't interested in skill he wanted some one with guts some one with hunger for strength. He could teach skill but volition had to come from within.

The crowd had thinned out, it seems like people had become bored with him.

"Is there no one else who has the courage to even try?"

He was disappointed with the frailty of Ragnyll's people. Even if Wight could save these people from the dangers of the gate, the commander could save these people from the crippling weaknesses that no doubt claim them in the end.

"I WILL TRY" Shouted a tired voice among the crowd.

Sleyth turned around, he recognized that face, it belonged to one of the first contenders he fought. Odd the concussion he gave the contender should have kept out for at least a day.
Well maybe there was some hope left for these people.

" Phoooo It's been a WHILE since I did that, let me tell you. These Ragnyllians would have been sent to a deathbed because of their poor nutrition. Now, listen well, Wight. I'm about to quote something. "

The House-Master opens the book and turns it to page 777.

" And so at the crevice of the Earth was the bare face of the underworld, and a heaven ward rift in the sky would reveal the hand of Alex, Man must steel themselves and prepare to give his life to protect what he cherishes, and to save whom he loves. Should a man love no one he must save himself for the fell- implements of the Netherworld will grip him in times no darker, in times no brighter "

"Are the words inscribed here in this immutable book, this ancient tome passed from the Chaplain before me and here I will hope that it's weight has pressed itself through your skull to tell you that Alexandrians will never betray the teachings of their heart and minds to the distortions of the worldly and the critical and the faithless. I believe that your presence here was heaven sent- while misguided fools aim to use our tongues to bear down strict judgement. "I'm sure there must be those who believe that the idea of purging this entire land shouldn't happen either within the Order or the Crown. Do you know of any connections Father that could aid us in guiding our Brother's back home to the teachings of Alexander?"

    >Gonna go with a point in Crown, hopefully footing the bill toward some form of ranged anti-armor, since that seems to be a major thorn in Aeon's side.

Knightly waved her hand towards the young radio operator as she shifted through several stacks of paper and briefly consulted a coffee-stained map covered with hundreds of annotations written in pencil.

"Hmmm... that would be a negative, McMillan. There shouldn't be any Aeon personnel near that part of the line, particularly an Inquisitor. It's a trap, and a poorly made one at that. Raise Able Six-One and tell them to move to secondary alert status, and confirm that nobody responded to that S.O.S."

"But ma'am, what if it's an actual Aeon Inquisitor working undercover? I mean, Commander Wight's men were a covert operation led by an Inquisitor deep into Voss lines. Isn't there the possibility that they could be the same?"

"Negative soldier. If they were such a unit, they would not openly broadcast their situation in such a manner, nor would they broadcast such a message, as it would be foolhardy for them to establish a defensive line at that location."

    "What do you mean, ma'am?"

"The broadcast coordinates corresponds to a river with steep cliffs facing our defensive line. A poorly defendable position, especially with a troop strength similar to Wight's unit. Now please carry out those orders I gave you, McMillan."

    "Understood ma'am."

"Remember--time your strikes! Thrust too quickly, and you risk leaving an opening for an enemy to counterattack; thrust too late, and your enemy shall surely overcome you." Brother-Veteran shouted over the din of the sparring match between Lucien and Gwendolyn, foam-padded spears bumping harmlessly off of the padded shields. He had managed to create a sort of miniature sparring field in the middle of the base, a way to exhibit the talents of some of the Templars to their new Ragnyll allies while continuing to train. "Wait until your opponent slips up--then strike at the weak point for massive damage!"

Iraklis bounced a spear thrust off his shield, using the momentum gained to strike Gwendolyn's exposed midsection with a hard thrust from his own spear. Gwendolyn was thrown off balance, leaving her open to a shield-assisted push from her opponent. The push threw her to the ground, flat on her back, with Iraklis quickly following up, planting a foot on her breastplate while angling the spear at her throat. "Yield," he whispered, sweat slowly dripping from his brow.

Gwendolyn looked back with fierce determination, but let out a sigh as she let her body relax. Iksender clapped his hands, the sparring match over. "Very good!" He laughed, approaching the center of the ring. "Very good. Iraklis, good show of offensive power--though watch yourself when thrusting forward with the shield; that could have been dodged easily if your opponent had gotten their wind back quickly. Gwendolyn, much better than the last session, though you're still thrusting too quickly. Do not be so hasty to draw blood from your opponents; sometimes, a little bit of patience is required." He smiled at both of them. "Overall, much better improvement from both of you. Now, set up again--Gwendolyn, take a breather and tell Lucien to get in here."

"At once, Brother-Veteran." Gwendolyn panted between words, walking toward the makeshift bench created from empty ammo crates. She sat by Lucien, throwing her head back, letting out another breath as she set down the practice weapons. "Best be on your guard, Lucien," she warned the brown-haired Neophyte. "Iraklis is playing for keeps today."

Lucien smirked. "He would be. You know how aggressive he gets when he's being...penitent." He turned to Gwendolyn. "You did good out there, though. Barring that shield charge, you coulda had him."

"'Could' being the key word here, Lucien." She shakes her head, the short black curls on her head assuming a more natural shape. "If it weren't for my age, you *know* that Iraklis would be Senior Neophyte. We are mere weeks apart in age, and he is my better when it comes to combat prowess."

"True." Lucien took a drink from a sheepskin filled with water. "But you were always the smarter one." He hands the sheepskin to Gwendolyn as he rises from his seat. "Hold that for me." Lucien grabbed the practice weapons and headed out into the middle of the ring, assuming the Templars' battle-ready stance--Spear pointed forward, most vital parts of the body protected by the shield, eyes fixed on the opponent. "You know that this is mostly *your* fault, right?"

"Says the one who was the first to rush out of the armory at the first chance of a fight."

"I didn't see you stop me." Lucien smirked again. He saw Iraklis smirk back. 'Oh, what fun this is gonna be,' he thought, as he heard the Brother-Veteran shout out "FIGHT!"

    Right, crunch first, then fluff.

    >First roll, requesting the use of our captured airship or, failing that, a Clovis spy plane to run a reconnaissance mission over the edge of our lines into Voss territory to locate any preexisting Voss sites that are highly defensible and can be used as our forward HQ and/or a "springboard" for our drive further into Voss territory.

    >Second roll for the same flight, or a ground reconnaissance team to locate a way for Hellghast to bypass the defenses of the site so that they can deliver a swift decisive strike. Preference for a more stealthy approach to minimize collateral damage.

    >Final roll, if necessary, is for a proposal to Himiko Peppers, Father Zwei, and Brother-Captain Wight, if necessary, to create a small-scale cyclops cannon that can be mounted on a Gryffin chassis and fires blessed air-burst munitions that can act as an area denial weapon to undead, and hopefully a method to reduce accumulated terror.

While the Hellghasts and the newly-christened Legio Aurora were scheduled for a "friendly combat simulation" aimed at reducing the tensions between the two camps, Knightly was busy preparing for the upcoming counter-invasion into Voss territory.

The first step was to locate a suitable site to strike - it would do them no good to aim straight for the Voss capital. Instead, they needed to break the campaign down into smaller parts - first they had locate and capture a Voss facility that could act as a forward HQ and a springboard for more operations, yet was close enough to the border that supply lines could be established. For this, the captured air ship would work, or a Clovis reconnaissance plane.

Once that was done, they needed to find a way in. To be suitable for their forward HQ, it needed to be highly defensible. However, this meant that it would be difficult to capture in a head-on assault, as the Voss would be the ones holding said highly defensible position.

So of course, a request was sent to Iron Command to send in a ground-based reconnaissance team to find a way into the site, one that would allow the Hellghasts to bypass the worst of the defenses and capture the location from the inside-out.

Finally, after witnessing the power of blessed munitions combined with large weaponry, it became clear that a more mobile version of the Cyclops at Kolstec could be very beneficial, especially if it offered an area-denial option against the Voss' undead. Knightly had heard of air-burst munitions: bombs that would explode and release a large cluster of bombs over a wide area. If Peppers could create a scaled down version of the Cyclops and mount it on a Gryffin tank chassis, and if Father Zwei and even Brother-Captain Wight could assist in blessing the munitions, then perhaps the Ragnyllian forces could have a better means of eliminating the large swathes of ghouls the Voss favored, or a more reliable method of reducing the "Terror" that fueled their unholy magic.

As Knightly typed up her proposals to the engineer, the holy father, and the battle-hardened paladin, she couldn't help but wonder if filling the bombs with holy water would be easier than having the father bless napalm canisters, or much more effective.

    >Also, seeing as [TA]'s have the ability to lay down airstrikes/artillery strikes, I would like to know the rules regarding them so that I don't end up trying to lay down a support action that I can't actually do.

He knew that despite his concerns some things would need to be done in the near future and thanks to Father Zwei he could accomplish most of them without a great amount of help. And a message back to the Homeland was in order, detailing the fact that Zwei had christened the Verse as a Chapter now and that they'd need more supplies as such. Wight however left out the fact that they had proof that the gate opened since as he reasoned it, that was Makkor's job. Hopefully the decision to wait would provide Ragnyll time to defeat the Voss.

Time passed as the Templar wrote his report, it wasn't until late into the night that Wight actually remembered something that he should have asked Zwei and deemed it appropriate to include in his report. Asking his superiors in the Order if they knew where any Relic may be left within this land. With that extra set of questions added to his report the Chapter Master stood once more taking his large mug of tea with him as he went into the night.

No, because I would like to ask Command and/or Mana about the possibility of putting explosives in her body in the event that she is incapacitated in battle and about to be captured by the Voss.

Skipping the whole RP thing, I realized after talking about the folks in the RP about the versus fight that we have maybe two people who could actually stop Mana in a fight. Which would be relevant in the event that she goes down, we are unable to recover her, and the Voss brainwash her and releases her on us.

Additionally, without Soapworth's warping ability, we may be unable to recover Mana in a situation where she would go down.

Anyway, I was thinking of putting some implant that would, upon some kind of signal, maybe from High Command or Mana herself, would release some special compound that would bind with the Ibonyte in her body and essentially turn her into a walking nuclear bomb about to go off.

I suppose you can liken it to the Predator mini-nuke, a little extra something in a worst-case scenario that would allow Mana to have the last laugh.

Would this kind of thing be feasible/approved?

Journalistic entity? So you mean that as soon as our worst-case scenario occurs in which Mana suicides, the reporters will immediately know about it?

And this all hinges on Mana's consent. Presumably, it would be her who has control over the kill-switch, along with maybe one or two other people that she trusts.

Though I would like to remind Mana that the Voss are unlikely to grant her a warrior's death. They have shown in the past a desire to capture her alive.

With regards to the signal being double consented, perhaps we can have a simple three-key system?

Mana and two people she picks can trigger the kill signal.

If one person triggers it, the two other can override it.

We could make it a bit more complex, but with Mana picking who gets the keys, then there shouldn't be trust issues here.

As the still steaming mug of tea lifts to his lips in a long sip Wight's fierce eyes reach Paisley who appeared to have been reading a letter of some sort before his arrival. The Ragnyllian's greeting made Wight smile as he and his Shield Brother's nod in acknowledgement of the Private. The Veteran's at his side might have seemed slightly perturbed by the Private's lack of knowing that Wight should be addressed as Chapter Master but he did not mind.

"Good even... hmm I don't believe we've been introduced. I am the new Chapter Master for Legio Aurora, Gabriel Wight. And I am currently searching for a few things, namely some papers and texts that Father Zwei provided for your Investigators to look through."

Wight approaches the nervous Ragnyllian with a soft smile extending his arm for a warrior handshake while the other lifts his mug once more to enjoy the sweet honey tea before it cools.

"Chapter Master?" The words tasted alien to Paisley's tongue. Ragnyll was something of a modernized army, with brigades, squads, platoons. "Chapter Master" was a title that was more befitting a church order's leader than that of a fighting force. "It's good to see you, sir--lord? Wh-whichever you prefer." Paisley managed a half-salute as he fumbled through his words. "Zwei, Zwei--oh! The old man! Yes, yes, him! H--he laid out some papers and books out on one of the larger tables in the back. He, uh, also requested some other texts from the library as well--old maps, some older texts, old collections of Ragnyllian mythology--'For reference,' he said." Paisley pointed to one of the larger wooden tables in the back, covered in dusty and slightly molding texts. He remembered the wild goose chase the old man had given both him and the librarian as he searched for several of the books some hours earlier, "temporarily requisitioning" both of them for their services "for the glory of Aeon and Alexander".

Paisley's head snapped back out of the reverie as he found the Chapter Master eyeing him. "I--I take it that B--Brother-Veteran Iksender and his charges are under your command, yes?"

Wight nearly chuckled at Paisleys reaction to the fact that he was a Chapter Master. Still the soft smile remained on the Templar's face as he motioned to his Honor Guard to go begin looking through the already gathered books and scattered papers in hopes of finding any clues of where Relics, which might aid them, might be hidden if there even are any in this land. The grizzled Veterans nod to their Chapter Master before striding over to where Paisley indicated. Wight however remained taking another sip from the mug filled with hot honey mint tea, however at this distance the Ragnyllian Private would notice the design upon it's side. The mug bared the Hellghast's emblem, how did the Chapter Master get his hands on it and why he had it, other than for enjoying tea, was unknown at the time.

"If you must Sir Wight will do, however I much prefer to remain called Brother-Veteran or even Brother-Captain."

He takes another long sip from his mug before answering the question about Brother Iksender.

"Yes, Brother Iksender is among those in my care. Though at times I find myself relying on his strength among the other Siblings in Legio Aurora. I might add, did you get the chance to meet Iksender?"

"You could say I know the Brother-Veteran and his Neophytes, yes. After that little 'incident' in the hangar bay, Iksender, as he put it, 'temporarily requisitioned me' to find two of his Neophytes that somehow got away from him. Then, he makes me join the hunt for that--that walker....thing that pissed coolant all over Springer and her squad, which probably took the better part of three hours, and finally, he makes me watch over said two Neophytes while he went off with that girl-Neophyte of his who acts like his aide, muttering something about 'things that need yet to be done'."

Paisley let out a sigh, twisting his neck. "The experience was...trying, to say the least, Brother-Veteran, but shed some perspective on Aeoni culture and practices--especially from the view of some of its youngest aspirants." Paisley realizes he's putting on a tired smile for the Chapter Master, quickly composing himself before noticing the symbol on the mug. Paisley tilted his head in confusion. "That mug...where did you get that?"

Isane glances over at the nurse, the same one that had mentioned seeing what could have been Oderkonn and Helena a week or two ago. Ignoring the request, she takes another long drag from the cigarette, the tip glowing red hot for a second.

After what she went through, she required a drink, and while it may not make her forget, it'll at least take the edge off. There would be other times to try and figure things out. Slipping inside, she takes a seat and waves the bartender over, ordering the first in a long line of drinks to come tonight.

It's not the uniform that's odd, it's the odd choice of headgear. The strange person wears a helmet in the style of an Aeon soldier, the long beak following Isane as she moves from the door to sit at the bar. Thick wisps of smoke rise from the eye holes and from between the joins between the visor and the helmet proper. It's not clear how this person is keeping from choking on the fumes, but they remain in a calm, seated position, arms and legs splayed across the booth chair they're sitting at.

The sound of another Aeon ballad broke through the cool night air. The source of this revelry was a broken down bar in the war scarred section of Kolstec. Cleaver McLean's House o' Brew a business on it's last legs barely holding on and their newest client was doing everything but to help improve it's condition. Sleyth had all but taken over the place, what few people who stayed gave the vicious gladiator a wide berth. After spending the day challenging the local folk he had found a few choice individuals with the qualifications replenish his units in lieu of the tragic losses endured in the previous battle. And in standing tradition of the wind seared, crag of a hellhole he called his home region, he was celebrating his new allies in true style of his people. Much to the dismay of the surrounding patrons this included heavy drinking, constant berating of their manhood, and the occasional bout of violence against an offending piece of furniture. The only reason the local law enforcement hadn't been called is because those proud officers were currently nursing their wounds from challenging the boisterous Armslave earlier in the day. No it was going to be a long night for the patrons drinking in Cleaver McLean's House o' Brew, a long night indeed.

Armitage had been having a good night. Earlier she'd met a delightful young cleric, and had gotten on quite well with the "Hammer Maidens" accompanying her. She'd just finished a lovely meal of roast lamb with the pair, and they were now walking down the nearly deserted city streets making small talk. The wayside lamps cast off a soft, warm glow, and the night sky was perfectly clear. For the first time in a long while, between the good food, the carefree easy conversation, the warm night and the dreamy lighting, Armitage felt perfectly content and peaceful. On their way, she chanced a look into a little hole in the wall by the name of Cleaver McLean's, and stopped.
