-EXPLOSION! One of the radar sites has exploded! S-300s have launched instantly afterwards from other sights. Intercepting two tomahawks over the city. A third nearly makes it to the Russian part of the airfield.

-Russian aircraft in the air have intercepted and shot down a VH-22 coming in from the opposite of the "bird flock" - our mig pilots find nothing where the bird flock was. EX-KGB guy says that our pilots were fooled by ECM.

-Marines at Stadium have hunkered down in the interior corridors of the stadium - its turned into hall to hall fighting. Now that the Marines are actually sitting still, we should be able to capture and or kill them.

-Marines at airbase almost, are attacking the airbase radar site! Guards are defending it as best they can, Hinds have quickly arrived and are suppressing the Marines with some minor collateral damage.

-3rd marine group is still missing...

-EX-KGB suggests the following explanation (See Picture.)

-Another wave of missiles has been intercepted by the S-300s, one tomahawk made it through the defenses and has struck the Russian part of the base exploding an empty hanger - if the scramble had not happened, it would have taken out much more than an empty hanger.

    -Systems are still jammed.

-Reports of ground fighting at Russian part of airfield between the missing 3rd "Marine" group. Air traffic control tower has been demolished by planted explosions.

-Ex-KGB Offers a new explanation, they're after the Russians. As much as he hates to say it, standing down MIGHT prevent more Zanzian casualties...but Russia would not like this. On top of which, without outside communication, we have no idea if this is local or not. For all we know, US could be painting us as having WMDs. Ontop of which, 30 standard marines would NOT have this sort of operation. The fact that they were plain clothed, they may be Delta. May be. We never had confirmation that they were marines to begin with.

-NeoTekz offers a solution to the jamming, but it might bring fire to their corporate office in capital.

Deploy as much military force as we can quickly. Send our patrol boats out, turn off all their electronics, and try to find what is launching the tomahawk missiles since I assume they are ship-based. We need to find them and if we go in dark they won't be able to get a bead on us. Send the patrol boats out with high explosives to plant on any ships in our waters illegally. Secure the airfield, secure the stadium, and secure NeoTekz HQ. Deploy our hinds to the civilian airfield. Task our jets with finding the jammer, which is probably air based, but also have our pathfinders combing the city for a jammer signal.

Understand that, it was your informants who called them marines, not the OP. I simply continued to use the term to identify them. EG: EX-KGB is going "well fuck, seems we were wrong, these guys aren't what I thought they were..."

-Cruise Missiles have ceased for now.

-NeoTekz has broken through jamming and has acquired the world network again. Counter-jamming is working on most systems, we have Radar again. Finding Zumwalt in the sea however will be hard, it has the radar signature of a fishing boat, and we have a debri filled oil-rig burning waterway...

-WORLD NEWS! As it stands... An F-35 engaged and destroyed a Russian Beriev A-50U with its cannon - moments before he had been flying wing-side to ward off the Beriev for getting to close to US fleet. This sparked an immediate retaliation from a now very angry Russian navy...and it went down-hill from there.

    Based on this information...

-Ex-KGB Guy believes that this was meant to be a covert rescue operation of whomever these American Spec-Ops are. Mid-operation the Artic-Event happens, and the Russian used Airbase became a target priority.

-Internet Theories, while its still up, are basing theories on the USN's network grid. Apparently their command computers were affected by some malfunction and the F-35 pilot got the go-code in mistake. Though the internet armchair debate has no idea how or why a US military network would have been affected...

    FEBRUARY 2018 - STATE REPORT
    -----------------------------------------------------------

-NeoTekz says they could rapid produce railguns until a design works..like a giant trial and error...but thats using Nanites to build untested designs at a high rate. While it could give us even super weapon railguns within a day...

-Special forces at stadium have been killed. Special forces at airport have been killed. Two survivors unwounded, three wounded. 3rd team is missing.

    -VH-22 Osprey wreckage secure.

-DDG Zumwalt is unseen. Daylight does not reveal her position - the smoke from the burning oil rig is doing more than enough to make visibility poor.

    -NeoTekz says jamming has ceased.

-Russia NATO war continues. No nuclear weapons at this time. Both fleets have taken extensive damage, and world wide locations were (on both parties) hit by nearby equipment. The actual fighting has died down and is limited to the occasional skirmish, missile strike, or special forces raid.

-Damage report: 15% of the city has been damaged in some form, but the majority is superficial. We lost two radar sites, with 25+ dead, and over 200 personnel injured in some way. Most will live.

-Liberia has built up a defensive force on its border but has not crossed it.

No it can't, because we'd be saying it AFTER our lasers and railguns were being deployed. Even a 5-shot laser turret is useful if we can mass-produce them. Which we can. Imagine being able to shoot down ANYTHING coming our way, with no way to evade it, while, we can bomb anyone with our rail-launchers with impunity, because you can't intercept our kinetics.

-Sent out search teams for that last group. They must be found. Find out the identities (if possible) of the spec forces. Compile a dossier/information of the forces used against us to be sent to major Media stations across the world.

-Begin reconstruction of the city, make it grander and better. Have the soldiers receive the best medical treatment.

-Reassure the populace by rolling your sleeves up and helping in the reconstruction of the city personally. You stand by your people.

This attack has been kind of fortuitous, if you think about it. It has shown massive security flaws in our country that need to be addressed. We did well against the spec ops, but we need to do better.

-Our radar installations need to be rebuilt. We also need better installations more cleverly hidden to ensure that our radar won't be destroyed like that in the future.

-We need to develop computer system defenses to ensure that our radar won't be as fucked as it was. We also need better stealth detection technology. We also need a way to destroy/render useless the satellite the US relies on so much.

-We need a better navy. We need the railguns developed and fitted onto smaller ships.

-We need to develop counter-communications technology as well. They were able to coordinate too well in our turf.

-Find out how the team got out.

-Warn Liberia that there movements are aggressive, and we will respond with force if they violate our nations integrity.

-You have gone live with the news of this, but your nation isn't the only one caught in this world of butt-hurt.

-EU is trying to avoid war, though some nations are partially involved with the US fleet.

Everything else will be covered next time. Feel free to debate what needs be done.

Peotic justice. Upscale the US naval railgun as our primary anti-everything artillery and put it into a newly built mountain facility. Begin hitting US bases ASAP.

Have them deploy prototype lasers as fast as they build them and correct flaws until we have something that can fire a few times, and then make both anti-air and anti-orbit versions.

WHILE WE DO THIS, have them also be fabbing up replacements and copies of all our gear, as well as a SHITTON of spare ammunition. If they need to, have them build a nanite tower in our joint base in a warehouse to speed it up.

We make dedicated nano-camera arrays with Infrared and high-res optical imagers and deploy them as a very large shared array, allowing a higher resolution than a single point array, and that should allow long-range detection of the heat generated by any aircraft's motion at any aspect. Thoughts?

Red = Russian (including ourselves) sphere of influence at this time,
Yellow = Chinese SOI at this time,

-VH-22 has no survivors noted, no gear removed. It seems the A2A missile went through the cockpit and exploded out the back. It is clearly US however.

-NeoTekz has up-scaled the American design that, supposedly is not operational yet due to wear and tear issues. A problem nanites can fix for us. They request time to do tests and tweaks before we have a reliable weapon. It will draw a lot of energy however, we should probably build a dedicated thorium reactor in our mountain neotekz base...or even a Uranium/Plutonium reactor.

-Russia is understanding of the situation and apologizes for being the cause of American interference. They have sent several air transports with both troops, equipment, and engineers to help repair and re-fortify your position.

-NATO/US and Russian forces continue sporadic clashes world wide. Several EU nations in NATO are considering dropping from NATO at this point from Russian urges.

-ZIA reports the 3rd party of marines have been spotted making their way towards Liberia, they will arrive in Swa'Sin city's county/region if they keep their current course.

-With increasing healthcare and education, we foresee that life span will continue to improve. Perhaps we should look into a method to deal with elderly once that approaches.

-Wild Fires have been dealt with. The 'starters' have disappeared into the Liberian border, ZIA says.

-Liberian meeting has ended, Liberia insists they are not provoking these actions and that anything done is by IC Rebels trying to force Zanzia to invade and "Liberate" the nation.

Explains that Free Actions are things that can be done not related to what is in a report.

    It's not that hard.
We react to events in a Status Report and pro-active actions are Free Actions.

    Questions for clarification:

I'd seen before that "free action" was something not mentioned in a post, but I didn't know if it was supposed to be something new entirely, or had to be related to a recent report (given the "unrelevant" [sic] part).

So ... we don't comment on anything from old status reports, only the current one and one other "free action"?

So the ZONES program .. was a free action move? And making broadband or fiber connections between the ZONES would be a free action move?

Would the second underground base be a free action?

Do we only get one free action per status report?

    I'm a noob to /tg/.

Y'know, research that wouldn't be fatal as hell and if it DID work would permenately alter how that person lives their life?

Yeah, but a soldier going into those experiments will MOST LIKELY had a fuck-ton of testosterone in them.

Also, veteran soldiers usually have a shitty outlook once they are out of the military, which wouldn't transfer very well if they are forced into civilian areas.

That soldier you just accidentally splashed with water from a puddle? He just tore your car in half.
    >> Anonymous 02/04/12(Sat)17:11 No.17805586
    >>17805469
You make good points, but this thing with the shitty outlook can be changed with some effort. Establishing a relief organization to help them cannot be so hard, especially since the veterans would be looked up to by the general populace for their duties.

Also, I think its unrealistic to say that these guys will ever really be out of the military. Our military is *tiny*, ay old soldier who cannot go to battle anymore would probably just end up becoming a drill sergeant for training recruits. Even if they end up quitting, they'd probably end up in jobs where their skills can be put to best use. Like firefighters or policemen.

Or simply this: when you leave the military, you are automatically in the militia. The militia is like a second police network. Your job is to sit on your butt or walk around the block where you live and watch out that no one breaks the law. When someone splashes water on you the, you get to sign him up for public service.

    APRIL 2018 - STATE REPORT
    --------------------------------------------

-Spec Ops team has been captured. 11 dead, 1 alive, and a NeoTekz VIP alive in zip-tie and gag. They were caught one day after ambushing one of the NT Scientists on the road between cities.

-Air Defense is repaired and situated.

-Zumwalt has been sighted far away, it seems our run in with the ship has ended.

-NATO-Russian fighting has picked back up off the coast of the UK. Russian guided missiles have hit hardened targets in the UK. NATO and UK defense forces currently in a retaliatory fleet fight in the North Sea.

-Swa'Sin city has been completed! The normally amazing news of a super modern, green, african city is being glossed over by the war news... the NeoTekz radio tower is completed.

-EX-KGB guy suggests building two more towers, one to the north in Tropicstan, and another to the south east in Liberty. They could possibly be used to create a massive nanite shield... NeoTekz agrees but says their technology isn't ready for such a massive deployment.

-Africa has been cured of AIDs by the majority. Europe and Asia swiftly following.

-Rebels who surrendered earlier swear they have no hands in the fires or the attack on Liberty.

-Conscription is in effect. Populace isn't happy but generally accept it as necessary. Our military force should be about 80,000+ troops in training at this rate by next month.

    - We've been fabbing copies of our military gear to supply our troops, right?

    - Also, did Neotekz ever give us the feasability of our nanite-based very large array system for anti-stealth detection?

    - Step up patrols along all borders citing US actions in country, see about fabbing a second AWACS and another 1 or 2 refuelers, see if we can maintain 24 hour air watch without needing SAM radar active.

    - Have 1st Battalion help integrate 2nd and 3rd Battalions (Regular army, not conscripts) in a dedicated formation with their new fabbed gear. They won't be as good, but it should help.

    Oh, before I forget.

Have Neotekz and our Thorium teams work together to get another few Thorium reactors online, 2-3 in our Neotekz base, out of sight, and one more in country. We'll need to spread out our experts, but we should have enough people educated to be able to keep everything running. If necessary deploy army engineers to support this. This should give us a massive energy surplus to support our nanite-based defensive and railgun based offensive operations, as well as capacitor charging power in preparation of our laser deployment.

so, the reason so much energy is need for the railguns, is that nanites would have to constantly be in service to repair the rails.
But, because we can fabricate rails out of any material, I suggested diamond rails, or at least diamond plated rails, which would reduce friction and maximize service length for the rails, all while cutting down on energy needs for the nanites.

Is there any reason this would not work?

Diamonds aren't conductive in the way that rails are, to my knowledge.

We just need a system that WORKS, not works PERFECT.

PERFECTION is the enemy of GOOD ENOUGH. We need a functional system that can keep the nation safe, not a system that works flawlessly. First gen railguns and lasers need to be out there and working, even if only for a short time before replacement, so we have breathing room to properly develop 2nd gen systems for tanks, aircraft, and proper defensive weapons and long-range artillery.
    >> Slushed 02/04/12(Sat)19:27 No.17807261
    >>17807187
Only the inner core of the rail would have to be conductive, so if we could find a material that increase the rails longevity it would save us from having to dedicate an entire reactor to our weapons grid. Or at least not more than one.

Anyways, Im just bouncing ideas around here

But figuring out diamond rails would require more work than just figuring out rail replacement, and we would likely need both for diamond rails.
from a quick look at wikipedia, it looks like thay're normally a good insulator, except with certain varieties, where thay are semiconductive or even superconductive at extremely low temperatures. (<11 Kelvin)

We're in a war now. We don't need super-perfect will work forever systems. We need quick and dirty, deployable near-immediately systems. So what if they break after 5-10 shots? We can fab up enough so that's all the need to fire. So what if they're power hogs? We fab up another couple reactors and roll brownouts if necessary. So what if they aren't quite as powerful as advertised? As long as they can down aircraft/ships/nukes whatever the program's goal is, ITS OK. We just need systems in place right now so we have the time to mature the technology without the threat of US or NATO fucking our shit up.

It's cheap. It's conductive. It has a really low friction due to being essentially self-lubricating. it's for electrical contacts between moving parts for this very reason.

Ok, based upon our current tech and seeming want to pay the US back a little for their attacks on us, I'll daw a plan based around defense with long-range attacks on their military bases and industry.

Phase 1: Using our nanites, we fab up enough tanks and BMPs/BTRs to arm up our regulars, and enough weapons to arm our conscripts. We also fab up a bunch more Thorium reactors to provide power for later operational phases.

Phase 2: After prototyping and testing is complete, we begin deploying 1st gen railguns and lasers, and potentially our Very Large Detection Array (If it is both feasible and easily deployed)

Phase 3: We begin working on an intercontinental rail-launcher designed to be able to hit with only a 10-100m deviance, if necessary using guided munitions, and hollow out a mountain to serve as a firing point.

Phase 4: Hopefully by this point 2nd gen lasers are arming our aircraft and we're beginning to phase in railguns on our conventional army, but if we aren't, oh well. Operational Phase 4 is the targeted destruction of US military bases and industrial centers with our new ultra long ranged rail-artillery. After we begin, we demand the US surrender to us, and begin moderating peace talks.

This is a VERY broad plan and is based upon us being ignored. This is NOT a worst case scenario plan. This is a general operational plan based upon simply holing up to get our new technology online to a point where we can strike at our foes with impunity while not being struck back. With the US currently busy, the most forces I think we can expect in an attack are a US CBG and MEU, alone, perhaps with airlifted army support if they gain a beachhead. I'd recommend nanite tower constructed along the shoreline ready to terraform our coastline in a defensive wall that would make Normandy look like a frolic.

And I was calling for ambassadors to visit the US for 3 threads before that, and we've been stonewalled. Great leader has obviously planned for action events involving US confrontation... that's just the nature of the scenario, and i personally think we have played the game very well thus far

We're not putting lasers in orbit. We're putting anti-orbit lasers on the ground as an anti-nuclear shield.

We're not gonna TOUCH space-based weapons until we have stuff in space worth defending.

    >That is some bullshit. The US and Britain are the only countries that have Tomahawks, and the Zumwalt and V-22 are only fielded by the US
    Yeah, I know.
But what ISN'T bullshit in a courtroom? And an international one at that?

We've gone to great lengths to make everything above-the-board and legal (aside from our President for Life status and our secret nanotech research). It would be uncharacteristic to throw that aside now.

And even the President-for-life bit was constitutional and supported by most of the population. It's closer to a constitutional monarchy than a true dictatorship. Right now, the important thing is getting the EU and China on our side, not some bullshit UN courtroom. International Law is kind of an oxymoron.

At the least, we have recording of a Zumwalt where it shouldn't be, and Tomahawk strikes in our capital after the guys who were smuggling US gear, broke out, in support of them. And a V-22 in our country unnannounced? World opinion, at least, can be swayed by that with the media getting full access. We also need to treat our POWs well, arrange interrogations of them (No torture, just days into weeks of questioning in between total isolation). everyone breaks. Its just a matter of time. We question them, at least 4 hours a day, about who they are, who they serve, who they work for. Ask them questions unrelated to anything every so often, or change up the questions subtly to catch them lying. But we WILL break them. Even if it takes months or years, we will break them.

Yeah. We do an expose on the attacks. Let international media cover it.

Aviationfag, how set are you on those doomsday weapons? I'd really prefer we didn't make them; our political capital would be spent all in one go. Turtlemode and an attempt to work the American public into rebellion is, I think, a much better way to work this out in our favor.

I like turtling, at least until we can shoot down missiles, aircraft, and possibly sattelites.
Also, we should be careful of specops teams with nukes, as well as missiles if we go offensive.
So far the us probably doesn't know we have the 'Build A Thing From Arbitary Materials' Magical nanoboxes, just medically effective nanites.
They might not have considered the nanites to be especially important in a millitary sense, compared to their quantum computer, the russian base, and extracting their elite troops.

Specifically it's essential that we focus on diplomatic talks with countries such as Germany which are debating withdrawal from NATO. We should also push towards solidarity of the African Union against the US, riding on the fact that we've got the AIDS cure.

The intercontinental railguns? I',m only suggesting them as a strike option that will work against the US. If we don't need to use them, we don't need to build them. I'd like to have the plans and ability, though.

If we can do this without needing to go on the offensive, all well and good. But, well, always plan for the worst, and all that. I'd much prefer it if we can just get everyone to sit down and shut up while we cure all disease, but the US seem to think they can just waltz in and take our shit without penalty. We need to punish them somehow. At the least, we can deny any US government or civil service member access to our cures until they apologize and make reparations. The average US joe? Take a trip to Canada or Mexico and there you go.

The BBC did release the news, and we can offer to give them exclusive coverage as well as near-complete access to the soldiers involved.

Maybe now that the shooting in the North Atlantic has died down, the world will pay more attention to what happened in Zanzi.

I'm honestly torn between turtling and a massive end-of-days military campaign. We should probably work on both a diplomatic and military build-up, and try to get the EU on our side. England and France are the real prizes as far as military allies are concerned.
    >>17808394

Oh, alright. Yeah, having the plans available is fine. As long as we don't make that priority number one; number one is defense, right now.

And that idea for withholding AIDs treatment for government officials is A+ material.

Last thread it was apparently decided I was head military planner, so I'm planning a worst-case military campaign. I'm not as good at politics as I am planning air strikes or how to shitkick a nation in the happy-sack. You guys can work on that front, I'll think of what to do if an MEU and US CBG divert to take our tech.

We couldn't AFFORD them then, though. Now we could afford anything with our cure-boxes, but we can't get them now. For anti-surface, a railgun is superior to a missile, since you can't really shoot down hypervelocity metal. Hell, we could probably start work on a hellbore program and have results inside of 100 years.
