The year is 298AL and House Bulwark is in King's Landing for the Tournament of the Hand. During the feast, Ser Adham Dannett accused the Bulwarks of raiding his lands. The next morning Donatello Bulwark struck him down in a duel, and Ser Adham slowly died of convulsions and a bloody flux. Meanwhile, Lord Leonardo Bulwark hunted down the Fox Knight, a bandit who he suspected of being behind the raid. With him were his old friend Ser Joris Landseer, Ser Bryan Tolson, a Dornishman seeking a lost Valyrian steel blade, and Orten Lugus, whose father had saved the Fox Knight's life. The Fox was captured after gravely wounding Ser Joris, but Orten killed him during an escape attempt. That evening, Lord Bulwark received a mysterious gift: a dagger with a dragonbone hilt that contained vial containing a few drops of clear liquid. The next day, Lord Bulwark spoke with the Hand of the King in secret, and gained Ned Stark's support as well as a warning that this plot could be part of something far more sinister. Soon after, Maester Splinter had determined that the liquid was the Tears of Lys, a poison which kills by destroying the bowels. As he went to tell Ned Stark, he met Varys the Spider, who revealed that Jon Arryn died of the same "illness" that struck down Ser Adham, and that the Bulwark shield found at the site of the raid had been stolen from the trophy room of Lord Kevan Lugus.It is the morning of the Jousting semifinals and the Archery contest. Since April is back in The Shell, and we're not exactly going to send for her to join the melee, I was thinking we wait to stat her until the tourney's over.It looks like everyone's agreeing to talk to Lya, aka Iris Dannett, so Donatello heads to the Greentree Inn. You find Ser Joris up and about, regaling people with the story of his victory over the Fox Knight and accepting free meals in lieu of the drinks Maester Splinter's forbidden him while he's on Milk of the Poppy and Firemilk.
