http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/20478611/ <-- 1st thread here. What is this? Pax Americana Posits an alternate reality where half the Enclave rebelled against genociding most of North America, and by extension, the world, because the inhabitants were genetically deviant from what the president viewed as perfect. These rebels blew up the oil rig and left for the american midwest. Once there they encountered Brotherhood of Steel outcasts and become the New American Union (or the Brotherhood of Enclave, depends on which you prefer.)So a quest?Civ quest, standard rules, we take actions based on a vote system, I display results and throw in sidequests and events. Discussion and commentary are encouraged.
>>20485061If we are posting here, I would like to let you guys know that I rescind my full disclosure plan. The more discreet way is better.Although I wish our civ would be more open. It would make the game go much faster
Lets get this shit started.
>>20485140We're in the Wasteland, did you really expect that simply being open with everyone and depending on the good will of strangers would actually work?
>>20485140Right now we are just building up. Once we have full on resources at a good level we reveal ourselves and yeah I voted being careful.
Old thread hit auto sage.Okay last I checked on dood wanted full disclosure but 2 other doods wanted half disclosure, at least 2 doods wanted to roll up in a vertibird, and at least what 1..? 2? 2 doods I think wanted us to hide our power level. In case you have no idea what I'm talking about, Samson, a frighteningly intelligent supermutant with an army of humans, ghouls, and super mutants has been laying siege to a slaver stronghold called Salvation city.He wants a new homeland for the mutant people and is willing to share it with humanity, or so he says anyway. So what's it gonna be guys? hidden power level, or semi-revealed power level? Or full disclosure?
>>20485203Hide our power level for a few months then if all things is well and we get a better power build then now we then send a delegation.
>>20485203Semi-revealed power level, being the Vertibird, squad of combat troopers and 2 soldiers in T-45b power armor. We show that we have equivalent level of tech to NCR, just that our industrial infrastructure needs more time to stabilize. That we CAN make the dream of the American Union possible. Stance is:Tell him that from what we've heard, our goals are very compatible. We just met, however, so we can't fully trust him, and he can't fully trust us, for an alliance. But let's agree to be cordial and helpful neighbors, and if that works, we can revisit the idea a couple months to a year down the road.

>>20485271The Vertibird and T-45b's are because the tribes would have seen the Vertibirds we sent to take care of the Yellow Clubs and Red Signs, and with all of the flying about we do for scouting, I doubt that Samson's scouts haven't noticed them yet. However, they would have seen only one, at most two, so we can still hide the bulk of our air force.Having 2 Vertibirds is reasonable for being refugees from a military bunker.Same with having a set or two of the older T-45b power armor.
>>2048530928 miles from new washingtonNew boston is a decoy town, a false capital meant to fool anyone who sees it into thinking we're a group of heavily armed vault dwellers who were forced west when raiders attacked us out east. The town of workers, farmers, and travellers that has sprung up around it is real enough, but the fortress is more than a decoy, its a secret military base with an underground bunker, false walls to hide security robots and secret caches of advanced technology to give us the homefield advantage if we're ever attacked here. The troops call it Fort HellMurder castle when no one is listening.25 miles from New WashintonSalvation city is a place built on greed and corruption, they've funded raiders and slavers for years and reaped a profit of blood and misery. not its biting them in the ass. Samson, a super mutant, has gathered his army outside their gate. He won't stop until he's smashed down the doors and Turned Salvation into his capital.
Main problem is revealing that we don't have good infrastructure yet. We should wait it out a bit building up untill we get a decent one then offer a allance. If he shows himself to be telling the truth.
>>20485445>Main problem is revealing that we don't have good infrastructure yetEverybody already know that though. What, you think a town that suddenly sprung up in the region over the course of a single month is going to have a fully operational industrial base?Samson's army has been in this region for at least weeks, to months in this region, blockading trade that was going to Salvation City. He already knows that we have a developing industrial base. He just doesn't know what our tech level can be once our industrial base is stabilized. That's what the Vertibird and T-45b armor is supposed to show; a city-state that could, given time, rival the NCR in terms of technological power, and who is amenable to being an ally because of similar goals and ideals.
huh, new boston should read 1150 people not 1000, damn copy pasta... anyway. We've decided on semi revealed power level. We'll have Colonel Ozz Mandaris meet up with Samson with one vertibird on the ground, the other circling in the air.YOU ARE THE GUY!You are Colonel Ozz Mandaris, you are 25 years old and have earned your position through being intelligent and being the sneaky bastard responsable for the existence of Hellmur- New Boston Trading Post. As such it's only fitting that you be given a command position overseeing your project. That, and you're kind of expendable, and no one's built anything like this in recorded history so if the robots malfunction its only fitting that you be here to fix it.You're going to meet with samson, leader of the Mutant National Armies. What will you wear to that meeting?A: Formal DressB: Combat Armor C: Power ArmorD: your suggestion
>>20485445I also would like the infrastructure to build most of our best tech
I would like to do some scouting; which may lead to a cool event occurring.
>>20485530Formal combat dress. A practical uniform which can also be used as light armour.
>>20485552We already mapped out the local area
>>20485530A: Formal Dress.Mandaris is the leader of New Boston, and if asked about civilian power or elections, say that because we believe in the Constitution, we hope that once New Boston is secure, we hope to have elections for Mayor in a year.
Sometimes turning points in history come up, maybe they don't seem important, maybe they're boring. But they're important regardless, and when important history happens. YOU ARE THE GUY.You take control of one of your civilization's historical figures and get to see the world through their eyes. Choose wisely.

One of the drill seargents walks him through basic Power Armor SOP and eventually he's ready to go. Ozz slides on the leather weapons belt for his plasma pistol and officer's sword. One of the techs asks Ozz if he'd like some decoration for the armor. They've been screwing around with ceremonial touches in their spare time.A: no decorationB: ceremonial cape. jack kirby knee length cap, ceremonial small-of-back-length cap, shoulder cape (extends from one pauldron, obscures arm)C; Gilt armor, glowing eye lenses, technological decoration basically.D: your choice
>>20485813A: No DecorationWe're still going with the story of being military bunker refugees (which we technically kind of are).
>>20485840Agreeing with this.Gotta look the part of 'just able to maintain' our stuff.
>>20485840yep yep
>>20485840>which we technically kind of areBoS Exiles: Brotherhood of Steel were originally military bunker refugees, so technically correct.Enclave: The Enclave Oil Rig was a military bunker in the sense that it was mostly populated by the military, and it was turned into a military installation. So technically, we're not lying when we say we're military bunker refugees.Just that we came from the west, not the east.
Least we had consensus on that one."Nah, we have cover to maintain. We're military bunker refugees remember?" This earns some mild snorts of derision and Ozz chuckles to himself as he walks out of his chambers. His armor earns him the occasional double take but the SOP for tech levels has changed from when Ozz was a child. Now you're allowed to stretch your wings just a little bit, speaking of which... Around this point in the aimless ramblings that he usually occupies his mind with he comes upon the steps to the Roof access. Roughly five minutes later he's on the roof and climbing inside a Vertibird. The ride surprisingly short, in just an hour the vertibirds are near Samson's encampment.Ozz gives the order for his bird to descend, and for the other to fly in circles around the landing site. The Vertibird descends and Ozz greets a group of very surprised humans, ghouls, and super mutants. He steps down from the vehicle and quickly has a pair of Power Armored troopers flanking him.
4 troopers in standard Enclave Combat Kit file out behind Ozz and Ozz salutes the assembled group with a parade ground snap. "I am Colonel Ozz Mandaris, I represent the New Boston trading post. I come requesting an Audience with General Samson of the National Mutant army." It's a bit belated, but your parade ground appropiate manuvers and Drill Seargent snap awaken buried insticts in the surrounding men and women. The quickly get to work and within a dozen minutes your escorted into the heart of the camp. You approach the tent that general Samson uses, It's a tad palatial, but even hunched over your average super mutant is ten feet tall so they need a lot of space. Samnson's a massive mutant, grey skin, grey hair, brilliant green eyes. As requested you leave your companions at the door. "Ah, a Colonel! Do you know how long it's been since I saw an honest to god Colonel?" General samson gestures to a pair of stools, both are clearly meant for super mutants.
>>20486358"With the way that the Outside's gone to Hell, I can imagine a long time."
Appropiate really, nothing could take the weight of a T45D ecxept a chair so heavily reinforced. Ozz sits as requested and Samson leans over and looks into Ozz's face with frighteningly intelligent eyes. "Now, you are a Colonel therefore you were raised under military discipline and follow basic Military law." Ozz is about to respond to this when Sampson continues. " You are Ozz Mandaris and are the military governor of the New Boston Settlment, thus implying that, as your people say, that much of your society died fighting raiders to the east. Now." Samson points to the roof. "These wonderful Helicopter-look alikes what are they called?""Ah, Vertibirds." Replies Ozz, of course Samson would know about him! A new settlment pops up out of nowhere and the Local warlord doesn't look into it? Foolishness. "Now what are the orders you've given them my good man?" asks samson as he turns around and begins reaching for something. Ozz can't see what Samson is doing because the Mutant is really very large.
>>20486465>These wonderful Helicopter-look alikesShouldn't we be a little concerned that not only is Samson incredibly intelligent, but that he knows pre-War terminology?I don't think we're dealing with just another escapee from the Master's army.
>>20486465"I'd like to discuss the future of the settlement my people have constructed and the Mutant Nation. From what I've gathered, you believe in a strong rule of law but still value individual freedoms. You want equality between all people. I think we have the opportunity to work together here towards something great. I'm hesitant to hash out a treaty here and now, but I would be willing to discuss sending some of my troops to assist in the mopping up of this little slaver town."
It's almost like he's trying to impress someone. "Vertibird A lands, keeps an eye out for trouble, if there's so much as a smidge of it. Dust off and burn this place to the ground with 'Bird B." Samson chuckles and turns around, he has a pair of goblets in his hands along with a bottle of wine. "Very good, now what are their orders if you don't return, and how long until those orders take effect?" Samson begins pouring two glasses of wine and offers one to Ozz. "Wait an hour, even if there's no sign of trouble Dust off, destroy the armory, raze your camp to the ground and leave. By all accounts you're unbelievably smart so I'd assumed that you'd assume that I would have failsafes in place." Ozz is on the fence concerning the wine. He shouldn't...but he's never even tasted wine."A good Assumption. I take this will be a short visit? Please, drink, its wine from the NCR vineyards good stuff.">A: accept the wine, tell samson why you're here.>B: refuse the wine tell samson why you're here.>C: Your choice
>>20486552Do we know about FEV? A. Accept the wine, tell Samson why you're here.He wouldn't risk poison; too quick, and there are the failsafes to consider. But he might use FEV-contaminated wine, to attempt to convert New Boston. We'll have Ozz divert on the way back, and meet at a deserted area with a full biological warfare team from New Washington, and have them check Ozz out for infection.
A. It would be rude to refuse, and he would try any stunts at this point
>>20486618I mean doubt
>>20486613[Becoming a super mutant requires a metric fuckton of FEV or some very carefully performed experiments, there's a reason the process was called "dipping" by the master and his followers. and yeah, they know about FEV its part of what started the Rebellion.]Ozz removes his helmet and places it on his lap. To be honest the stool is quite comfortable and more than large enough for himself. "You want to live in a world governed by law and order." Samson nods and takes a contemplative sip of his wine. "Well so does New Boston, we live by the ideals of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United states of America, the Declaration of the rights of man and the Magna carta. But the world doesn't have room for old world values yet, so we shoot raiders and brand thieves like everyone else." Samson nods again as he sips his wine. "What I mean to say is, I know nothing about you, you know nothing about ,me. I want to live by law and order, so do you. But our world doesn't engender trust"
"So what I am here to do" Ozz sips his wine her, its actually quite good, if a little sweet. "Is state that I have no interest in hostile action against you or your men. What you have done so far seems admirable and right. But I am watching you." Ozz sips his win again and Samson's tootight face twitches ever so slightly. "As you are watching me. It is my hope that our people can be allies. In the mean time...To trade." Ozz declares a small toast, and Samson returns it.With that done the Colonel Dismisses himself an dreturns to the Vertibirds. There is no FEV taint, though the wine may have had heavy metals or other contaminants in it. Ozz returns to base and takes up hgis role as leader of the New Boston Trading post. Maybe we'll see him again some day soon.
If that game play mechanic sucked I'll never include it again. If you liked it YOU ARE THE GUY will become a bit more immersive on our next outting. In the meantime. You all know the civ situation. We have metal, we have silicon, we have a trading post (which is also a murder castle), we have 8 robots and 2 suits of armor with holographic cloaking devices and we have 4 subdued warrior tribes and 4 trading tribes. The spirtual tribes keep their own council. So what do you want to do today gentlemen?A: scoutB: researchC: improve facilities D: TrainE: your choice
>>20486848C. Lets fort ourselfs harder also look for more trade.
>>20486848Can we improve our facilites? Especially the factories, I want to see if we can bring them up to pre-war standards if possible.
>>20486848B. Research Mutant Trees to make them grow fast and be strong enough to be useful as construction material.A. Scout further out.C. Improve Facilities: Can we create an underground rail tunnel linking New Boston to New Washington? Samson will be taking note of our supplies in, and seeing what comes out. If he sees supplies being moved somewhere, or the numbers don't add up, he'll know we have another base of operations.
>>20486848A. ScoutDat Iron, dem jewels, dose minerals. Also love YOU ARE THE GUY. Give us a "real" history 'n' shit
>>20486901Which factories do you mean? The ones in New Washington, or the ones in New Boston? The New Washington ones were waiting for the right raw materials to produce electronics. The New Boston ones were intentionally reduced in scale and ability, so that we wouldn't show our hand in the beginning.
>>20486901Think we should do this with the new washington's factory.
Wow lots of choices, okay you can build a rail tunnel, it's just labor intensive, and will take you a few months. if you want to research trees you're gonn a have to gather some from the mutant forest. We could scout for more resources, and our factories, the ones in New Washington anyway, are up to pre war standards, they just don't have the resources to make shit. You do at least have metal and silicon now, you've got rubber trees in the hydroponics bay, if you could get industrial chemicals you could make plastics.Oh and one guy likes "THE GUY" might make a repeat of it then to shake things up.
>>20487067I also like "THE GUY" for certain events; it feels like an important cut-scene, and it gives us good information and characterization.Okay, let's grab samples of the mutant trees, and stake a claim in that area. To make things simpler for the rail tunnel, could we build mining robots to do it from New Washington's end? It's not a high-priority project right now, and if we can set up some robots to work on it in the background over the course of a couple months, I think that'd be best.
Dear OP:Your quest is truly amazing. It got a great setting, enjoyable mechanics, a world that truly lives, change and evolve along our choices. But i have one fear:Many quest with great potential, for a reason or another, ended up abandoned and forgotten, their stories left on the shelf to never be completed again...Without a warning...Without a word...So i beg you OP:Don't let this amazing creation die.
>>20486896Gotta be a little more specific than that. Are you improving the walls? Putting up watchtowers? Constructing sentry turrets? And are you improving them for New Boston or New Washington?
>>20487256Was thinking new washington and a bit of all of the above a general build of what we can. Though on second thought right now resources is what we need.
my PS3 crashed, I'm back.Okay New washington has everything short of a forcefield bubble, and its immune to thermographics and radar, nit visually invisible though.New boston has everything excep a forcefield button and its all hidden. If new boston were a hasbro toy it'd be a transformer. More than meets the eye. You have hidden robots, hidden turrets, hidden cameras, 4, count em 4 basement sublevels. and an arsenal of high tech weapons. so upping defensive cpabilities her doesn't help.We can convert Mr. Handies and some security bots to mining duty and put them on that detail. They're on that detail now I'll tell you when they're done.So we have one vote for doing stuff with the mutant trees. Who wants to support that?
>>20487333Might as well nigh unlimted amounts of wood would be useful.
>>20487319resources are gainbed via scouting, and I arrange a dice table of appropiate die on the board and then I roll for a result using TG die.New washington has everything you could possibly want, all at pre war levels what you lack is RESOURCES to make full use of those facilities.New boston is New washington's sneaky little brother, it traded in manufacturing capability for hidden murderous robots. Go look at the "kill the slavers" posts in the last thread.
>>20487333supporting mutant tree research, also more resource gathering.
>If new boston were a hasbro toy it'd be a transformer>New Boston ... TransformerOh my god were doing this in 20 years or so.Liberty Prime will be so Jelly.
>>20487333Get the raw material we need but think about how we are going to get it to new washington withour being seen/followed.It would be bad enough if they deduce that we we have a hidden city but for them to learn it's where abouts.
>>20487454.....He JUST said that finding raw materials is random and a matter of the dice roll. And in the very same post he said that work has started on an underground rail tunnel to connect New Washington to New Boston so that raw materials and supplies can be moved without being seen.
1: resource2: ruin3: active location4: strange eventThis is what the scouting-for-resources die chart looks like by the way. From what I can tell Tree-Anon wants to establish a small outpost by the mutant tree grove. One thing we have a lot of is explosives so building a stone outpost there and manning it with dudes who have guns wouldn't be impossible.
>>20487546Yes. I want to stake a claim to the land, even if the experiments with the trees fail.
Alright, your budget is tight but you manage to get some explosives and mortar. You find suitable stone in anearby quarry and blow it the fuck up. Then you haul the pieces to the building site. Mutated bears (furless and angry), wolves (furless and the size of a horse), and the occasional hell cat (puma the size of an MBT) make the job difficult but you finally manage to build a working fort.It has stone walls that can be patrolled by men, a garison, Sniper-Towers, a hospital, warehouse for food and other goods, and a basic laboratory for analysis test. If something proves to be interesting you can send it back to New Washington's vastly superior research facilities. Food and other goods are shipped in via New Boston with APCs and an MBT escort, 'cause goddamn, giant Puma!Feel free to name it.
Okay, we have a facility to study mutated trees with, pity its in land infested with absurdly dangerous animals. Now, what else are we going to do?
>>20487704Fort Endurance. And fuck, puma the size of an MBT? We should hunt those things down.
>>20487724Scout.Improve our trade awareness along the trade routes. We want to learn about other cities and towns we can trade with.
I personally think we should start training.
scouting for towns and scouting for resources is different. you don't have to roll for towns. You have some guys in Standard Combat Kit (I.E. Combat armor) load themselves into 4 APCs and ride out into the wasteland. As they travel along the highway you notice a fortress made of ruined cars, wood, concrete and any other junk you can find. Eventually you make your way into the walled city of alhambra. Its a fortress town with a wall made from bricks, they have sharp shooters in towers, wall mounted heavy machine guns and wall sentries. The town itself is home to 10000 people and is built around a water spring that provides fresh, clean, mildly radioactive watrer to its residents. The town has an elected mayor but It's real power lies in that hands of Grayson Catsvallen, son of the late Susan Catsvallen, The woman who basically built this town by providing funding for it. Her son reaps the benefits in profit and by all accounts uses his resources wisely, and always in the benefit of his settlement.
As your men are leaving the town comes under attack by a group of raiders who are using old converted vehicles. Mostly muscle cars and vans with HMGs mounted on them. They're not interested in you, they're trying to kill as many civlians as possible whilst the town defenders try to get everyone into cover. You scouts radio back to New Boston for instructions. What do you order them to do?
>>20487898Engage the raiders. They are to attempt to minimize collateral damage to the town and civilians.
>>20487898How many raiders and how long till assistance could get there?
SCRAMBLE THE VERTIBIRDSALL OF THEM.
>>20487960I will punch you though the internet.
>>20487960NO not all of them!We had this discussion before!Just 2. Make sure that they're careful, those HMG's can shoot down a Vertibird.
>>20487960Im thinking 4 with standard troops and 1 power armor each, at max.
12 trucks/cars/vans pic related. 4-6 raiders per vehicle. Civilian vehicles, with a biodiesel engine, and some steel plating welded on.You have 2 'Birds in the air, 40 minute ETA. 1 T45-d squad, 1 standard combat kit squad, even split between normal and anti-vehicle weapons.Your APCs have 3 axles, 12 wheels and military grade armor plating as well as a Laser Minigun or HMG as a turret mount. This is standard kit for an Enclave APC.
>>20487898Wreak them.
>>20487960I like the cut of your jib sir.Pic related.
>>20488071Concentrate heavy weapons fire on those raider vehicles that have anti-vehicle weapons or that could pose a threat to us. Once they're taken care of, we'll go down the line.
Yo bro of steel just woke up what happened since i slept. Last time i heard we were decrypting a radio signal?
>>20487898Also since they are not focusing flank on us. Maneuver then hit them in their flanks. Get the heavy weapons on position before engaging
>>20488142Yes. Samson is a cunning motherfucker; he's been coordinating his army across this entire region. That army that's been besieging Sanctuary City, that numbers 20,000? Just a PART of his entire army. And he's using tribal codetalkers, so even though we can intercept his radio traffic, we can't understand shit.
>>20488163So what happened after that? any major things?
>>20488163Also good thing we are hiding our powerlevel
>>20488183We revealed parts of our powerlevel to samson.
Raiders can't hurt you when you unleash the fury of AMERICA on them. Or at least that's what your Expedition Leader says. He has the APCs charge down into the fray in an attempt to protect civilians from the raiders. It quickly becomes clear that the raiders never expected to fight a real armor action when 4 of their cars go up like firefcrackers after a sustained burst of laser and HMG fire. They do their best to fight back and even manage to bust every single tire on one APC. Thats when a tank bursts out of the town gates. Its old, but it's heavily armored, and judging by the first explosion and the smoke streaming from its muzzle.Between the APCs and the salvaged tank the fight doesn't last very long, 3 of the raider cars manage to escape by abandoning their braver fellows. Then the Vertibirds arrive and reduce the the remaining raider vehicles to shrapnel and greasy smoke.YOU ARETHEGUY!You're Tomcat Jones, Major of the American Union armed forces.
>>20488193but not all
>>20488176We met with him, kept up our appearance as being military bunker refugees (which we technically are), revealed that we have access to T-45b power armor and Vertibirds (but only small amounts), and basically brokered an agreement of being cordial neighbors until we can trust each other. We've got a robot mining project to connect New Washington with New Boston using an underground tunnel. It'll take a few months, but it'll let us move stuff around without Samson knowing. We've got Fort Endurance, a research outpost studying mutant trees. We dealt with a tribal situation: the 2 Warlike tribes that declared war on us surrendered, and we soundly trounced 2 other aggressive tribes. Then there's this town. About 10,000 people, seem to be decent people, may be able to ally with them, then these raiders came and started shooting up the civilians.
>>20488204Request of Alhambra (the town) to allow us to stay a bit while we get our APC fixed. And ask them who the fuck those raiders were, and why they seem to have a hate-on for the town.
>>20488204"Well I guess you could say..." put on those +1 Per sunglasses "Their plan's all gone up in smoke"
>>20488204AMERICA! FUCK YEAH!We should lead our command in that cheer.
>>20488163[the army he has camped outside of Salvation numbers 10000, aside from that anon has it spot on. Not only are his code talkers speaking the language of the Blood Eye tribe thay're speaking it in code. they use phrases like "Blue 12 H" in a tribal language to indicate their position, staus, and what orders they've been given etc. etc.]You are Tomcat jones, you're one of maybe a handful of non-Enclave/BoS officers in the service. Your family was nearly killed by raiders but the Enclave rescued you and your mother (who was pregnant at the time with you) from raiders and raised you as one of their own during the migration. you're 21 and this is your 5th combat action for the union. You're the highest ranking Groppo on this mission and Expedition leader Stewart tells you that a man named "Grayson" wants to speak with whover's in charge of this battle group. That'd be you. You're wearing T45-D power armor, you have your trusting Browning M2 and you have your lucky 44. magnum on your gun belt.
Grayson Von Catsvallen is the richest person in alhambra, also it appears he was in command of the slavaged tank that the Townspeople fielded. It's a little shoddy but over all the worksmanship is excellent, it easily could have driven off that raider battle group if not destroyed them outright. How do you want to approach Grayson?>A; land vertibird near tank and APCs>B: land Vertibird, send 'birds back to base, have APC pick you up and ride back to base with them?>C: your choice
>>20488314>B: land Vertibird, send 'birds back to base, have APC pick you up and ride back to base with them?We have our orders: we're strong, but hide our full power. Keeping a Vertibird here would imply that we can afford to keep such a machine idling for just one man. If it has to leave, it doesn't let Grayson know its full fuel capacity, and makes it seem that our number of Vertibirds is limited and in constant use.
>>20488314B So that it will make an impression we have we are not that strong. Plus gonna save some fuel.
>>20488356While we are at it repair that bloody APCs wheels.
Tomcat has the APC lower just enough so that he can jump out without hurting himself. He hits the ground hard but manages to land pretty gracefully. From there he uses his armor radio to call for a ride.5 minutes later he's watching a few Groppos using a hydraulic jack to lift up the busted APC so they can remove and patch up its wheels. In the mean time grayson approaches him. He's gotta be at oldest 19, he's your typical pale, dark haired caucasian youth, except his eyes are cats eyes, literally the corneas are green and his pupils are slits. His fingers are thick and his fingernails are like claws. He points at you. "You in charge of that?" He gestures at the soldiers as they slide one of the mangled wheels loose of its axle. You nod and extend your hand. "Major Tomcat jones, American Union armed forces."Grayson takes your hand and shakes it firmly, or you think he does, its hard to tell in power armor. "Grayson Von Catsvallen, Lord Protector of Alhambra."
Grayson's jaw is a little too wide, and his teeth are a little too sharp, his ears are slightly pointy and he's rather hirsute. "I could have managed without your help, but I'm glad you intervened when you did. You save innocent lives today major. I'm in your debt, not by much, but still I owe you." The soldiers take the first wheel, lay it down on the ground and apply patches of rubber and epoxy glue to it. It's not much but it'll hold until they get back to base and can switch it out."Who were these guys Mr. Catsvallen? Why'd they shoot up your folk like that?" Asks Tomcat as he keeps a half interested eye on his men and their efforts to repair the APC."My people came from a vault. 57 to be precise. We were all supposed to be equal, some of us were more equal than others, my ancestors especially. Some people resent that. Which is fine." Grayson shrugs and scractches at one hair ear with a clawlike fingernail. "People have a right to harbor a little spite and resentment."
>corneas are green and his pupils are slitsWat?
SCRAMBLE ALL THE FUCKING VERTIBIRDS.AND SEND OUT THE EXTRA APC'S TO BOOK IT OVER. KILL EVERYONE.
>>20488569>Animal farm reference.>Mutant catboiI approve.
>>20488569Pry more into the feud.
>>20488608>>20488570Oh damn i wonder if they have nightvision or sneak racial ability
"When we left the vault it was sheer bloody madness. My ancestors took control, enforced rationing and kept people from acting like animals." The men finish with the first tire and replace it. They start on another one."We came here, built this place, my family was in control for a long time and used that to gain certain unfair advantages. Some people protested by leaving the city. My mother put a stop to the abuses of our family and had anyone who continued certain activites..." He pauses and grasps at thin air as if searching for words. "well they were dealth with in a manner suggesting Finality." He saays, he makes certain to look Tomcat right in the eyes as he finishes that sentence."When it was all over she gave up her position as ruler of the town, spent much of her wealth on making us all a lot safer, she repaired the wall, had weapons installed, built the towers." He indicates the tank with a clawed finger. "Built the Hammer of Justice. Some people came back, some moved on, and some..."
>>20488569It's only him or there are more?
>>20488644Ask about his people.
[one part animal farm, one part island of doctor moreau, look at the original fallout design documents. They cut out a tribe of intelligent talking racoons. As for his appearance? Less anime catboi more red dwarf's Cat]If you squint and look off in the direction Grayson is pointing you can see the junk fort you and the APCs passed earlier. "Some people decided to carry old grievances a little too far. I have no idea what they hope to accomplish. This place is about as fortified as you can get without raiding a Pre-War military facility. We make our own bullets, and our water gives us enough wealth to trade for just about any kind of weapon we want." Grayson sighs heavily. "Sadly I don't have the wealth or the resources my mother had. She spent them. I can't get the men or the machines to destroy that damned fort and I can't kill these bloody terrorists even though its my job."Looks like "Lord Protector" is just a fancy word for "Sherriff."
>>20488735Im certain a few high explosives could somehow launch at the fort, but we have a need for certain resources.Perhaps a deal is in order. They give us some (or all) of what we need for the Washington factories, which I don't know what that is, and we take care of the fort.
>>20488793Maybe we can convince them to be a protectorate. A colony of short if we take down that fort. Thoughts?
Come to think of it he has a Copper Star pinned to his chest, its very ornate but it looks like nothing so much as an old-timey sheriffs's badge. Now that you think about at least half of the people around here look odd, too muscular, or their skin is too hairy, or their eyes are wrong. You ask Grayson about his people and why they have such odd mutations."Mmm? Oh, part of the vault's experiments. You see there were scientists doing behavioural, sociological and genetic experimentations. Gene splicing with animal genes for desirable traits for instance. They kept us in line with a system of priviliges. Eventaully everyone got sick of 75% of their young dying and we discovered the experiments. There was a riot, the vault was ruined and we had to leave." He points at the town with his clawed thumb. "Luckily we found the springs." Grayson forwn, sighs heavily and points at the junk fort again. He's obviously too proud to ask for help but he clearly wants some means to kill the raiders who plague his people.
>>20488809Did someone say Latin Rights? No? Good im suggesting it.
>>20488830Of course we don't have the authority to make that kind of decision; it'll have to go up the chain. As the President, I think these people could be valuable. We might want to check in with our trader and tribal contacts first, though to see who really is in the right here. Otherwise, a protectorate status for Alhambra sounds alright, with full integration into the American Union down the line. We can be patient, as long as they'll work with us.
you need a steady supply of numerous things. industrial chemicals for plastic for instance, and raiders or not killing a bunch of dudes is not a lifetime supply deal. These guys kill civilians, until the Sheriff arrives in a tank, then they're boned. SO they're a threat but not enough of one to warrant protectorate status. Also look at it from their perspective. Theyhave water CLEAN, PURE, WATER while everyone else is taking 30+ rads a sip these guys only take 1 rad per cup.it gives them a pretty powerful bargaining position.no boys, you're gonna have to find some OTHER way to get them to join if you want a protectorate. Oh, and like I said earlier New Washington has prewar labs, hospitals, and factory facilities along with a hydroponics bay stocked with everything from coffee to hemp, to rubber trees.
>>20488885...Ask Grayson if they're still having...birth mortality problems. We have access to some medical research equipment that might be helpful.
>>20488921If they do we could use that so that we can into research , improve diplomatic ties and one more step to integration. While doing the research introduce them more into the Union so that they will be more familiar and comfortable.
>>20488885We have zero rads per unlimited amounts, and medical tech that we could use to help them.
"What are you doing?" Asks Major Jones."Attempting to kill them with my mind." Says Lord Protector Catsvallen."Doesthat ever work?" Asks major jones with some intrests."Of course not. But I can dream~" Lord Protector Catsvallen says almost wistfully. You ask him about the infant mortality rates and he says that problem stopped when sicentists stopped screwing with their genomes every other birth cycle. Now their population is pretty stable. You get on the radio and check with your tribal and trader contacts. They tell you that Grayson's telling the unedited truth, the old lord protectors were a sick joke, then Grayson's mother forced everyone at gunpoint to adopt sensible standards of morality and decency. Without slaver and raider money rolling in a lot of fortunes were destroyed. It doesn't help that Lord Protector Susan made it her business to kill or exile each and every slave owner in town. The exiles predictably enough turned to raiding to make ends meet. Thats the way they tell it anyway.
>>20489092We could always just take care of it as a sign of friendship. Work on absorbing them later.
>>20488953you do know that revealing that would kick up your pwer level by a few notches right? one of the biggest business in the wastes is selling low rad water and anti rad chems.\This isn't "YOU MUST SAVE THE CHEETAH MEN"This is me trying to get you guys to work ithin your own paremeters, and keep you from adopting strangely unreasonable trade bargains.Thgink about it, you're an enormous, extremely wealthy fronteir town, some strangers roll up and say "join up guys! just obey our laws and we'll protect you!" Their biggest problem are a bunch of jerks who kill civilians, aside from that they're doing fine. You're gonna have to find a different angle on this, they already have (relatively) clean water.
>>20489136This But this also means we have another raider/slaver problem near our borders. We could send some scouts to that fort also ask more info about this Slaver/raiders. Estimates, equipment, supplies.
>>20489197to Grayson
>>20489179They have relatively clean water, they aren't hurting for supplies, they're wealthy, they're well-armed, they even have a tank, and their raider problem is more an annoyance than life-threatening. The only thing we could offer them would be advanced medical technology, and we don't want to reveal that. Perhaps the only way to approach this is later, when we have a stronger economic hold on this region, and it economic factors make it more advantageous for them to join than stay independent.
Vertibirds do have all manner of cool sensory devices on them.People already know you have a pair you could just have one buzz the raiders.
Still saying get rid of the fort because fuck raiders, realize we can likely trade later on, then move on.
>>20489238Will this cost a move? Also as the guy above me said we can't do much anythign else. So what can we still do this turn?
>>20489237This aboout summs it up really. Some problems get solved slow. Like the mining tunnel.Your best bet would probably be to kill the raiders, on general principle, and then to make certain that they know you did it because you hate raiders.Later one when you have a better grasp on the region you can get them, and a looser restraint on your power level you'll be able to convince them to join. In the meantime just think of them as another potential source of resources.
YOU ARE THE GUY is a different gameplay mode. No this won't cost a move. Don't worry about that. For now you get to experience the boredom or ordering other people into battle from tomcat's point of view.
>>20489310My team will recon the fort no need to use the vertibird for now. Night recon. We go in take some pics from all sides. Capture a lone patrol or two then get out. Interrogate the prisoner.
>>20489338Alright, let's take the cautious route for now. One of the APC's needs its tires replaced anyway.
>>20489357okay,We can always just shelf this plan use it later.
YOU SCRAMBLE ALL OF THE VERTIBIRDS!THE SKY GOES DARK!WHOOOOOSH!nah, just kiddin. had to get that outta my system. You stake out the fortress after sneaking over to it. Finding cover to hide behind is difficult but eventually you find some trash to hide behind. You can hear a great deal of profanity and the sounds of machines working but not a single person leaves the fortress all night nor all day. The raiders are working on something, something big and they have no interest of leaving their fortress until they'd done with it. Judging from what you can see by the morning light the fortress seems a like parts of it have been scavenged, mostly the metal parts. What would you like to do?
>>20489515Now we have to plan our moves more carefully. Can we snag a prisoner ? Any plans on this guys? And radio to get the vertibird ready. Whatever this is. We will need the height advantage. like in Wild Wild West
>>20489515Call in reinforcements from New Boston. Is there any place with elevation above the fortress walls? We need to see inside, and we can't afford to let the raiders finish whatever they're building.
>>20489515Infiltrate and subdue. Kill all the raiders without harming the inside mech thing.
Well you COULD snag prisoners if the raiders were intent on leaving the forterss. You did your job a little too well, they look like they're turtling up until you go away or they're done with whatever it is they're doing. What type of reinforcements do you want?Keep in mind, it's eearly morning. Power Level.
>>20489597we only have one squad now. We have to call in reinforcements. Atleast a vertibirds with anti armor capability. THE VERTIBIRD IS IMPORTANT WHEN WE RADIO REINFORCEMENTS. So all out assault or infiltrate and sabotage?
>>20489673At least a vertibird and 2 squads with heavy weapons. First we snag a prisoner of course.
>>204896733 APC's with Combat Troopers. 1 APC with T-45b Squad armed with heavy anti-vehicle weapons. 2 MBT's. 1 Vertibird, first to do a flyby, then to do air support. We should really get some artillery, too.
>>20489697The bird well make noises so we have to radio command the entire situation so prisoner and interrogation. What i said above.
>>20489697I personally want to keep the mech inside safe. I would say get our stealth specialists in there to slit their throats before they even notice it.
>>20489697>>20489709We can't take prisoners because no one is coming out. Did you not read that part?>>20489677How do we infiltrate when no one has Stealthboys or Stealth Armor, and the fortress is buttoned up and on alert?
>>20489721Raiders need to sleep sometime, yes?
>>20489721So we go with an assault then. But we can't do this>>20489708 cause it will reveal too much level. So we call in reinforcement and maybe we can convince the cat people city to assault it with us. THey are with enemies with each other
>>20489741It's early morning. And you've never heard of sleeping in shifts?
>>20489756plus they have a tank.
>>20489759Raiders. Not exactly the paragons of human ingenuity. That and we could make a diversion for their sights to be set elsewhere, and then we can infiltrate and subdue.
>>20489785So you're saying that people who know that an attack is likely to imminent won't be on their guard, and that we can even gain access to a fort without being seen in daylight.
>>20489814No, what I'm saying is- You know, fuck it. Blow it the fuck up with a few vertibird runs from one or two of em and then gatling the shit out of it with a APC or two.
>>20489814>>20489785So guys are only options now are assault. We can't let them finish what they are building so we have to radio some reinforcements from boston. All that can go ASAP. And we also has to convince the cat people to join us cause they have a tank and this is more their problem than ours.
[Protip: sometimes infiltration is not possible, no matter what you try!]You call in 3 APCs two groups have basic infantry, they're armed with RPG launchers and assault rifles in equal measures. The has has T45D equipped soldiers. They have laser rifles and rocket launchers in equal measures. You also call in 2 Main Battle Tanks. Before any of these people arrive though you have a vertibird do a flyby of the base. What you find is relayed to your through your Pipboy's visual feed. For starters there's a 20 foot wide disk made of silvery metal that has a single large hole on its right side. This disk is glowing with energy and it's got scaffolding built around it. The raiders are attaching scrap metal to the hull and slowly sealing up the breaches in the hull. The raiders are being lead by people in hazmat suits who are passing out drugs of some sort, they're all obviously suffering from heavy radiation poisoning and a few have even become ghouls.
>>20489841You know, we're only doing this so that we can have the village look at us in a bit of a better light.
>>20489936Well shit. It's an anomaly. Don't blow it the fuck up guys. Just shoot the shit out of it with machine guns. They also all have rad sicjness, which means that they probably arent the best for live fire warfare.
>>20489841[more like aanimal eople. The lord protector is a cat person, the rest are cow, sheep, dog, geese etc. etc, farmyard animal people. not furry, just people with animalisitic traits, and yeah Grayson can see inthe dark and he's agile and stealthy.]The leaders of the raiders appear to be wearing anti-rad suits and passing out anti-rad meds to their underlings. You can't even imagine what they think they're going to accomplish with a flying saucer. Apparently they're smart enough to turn it on, but not smart enough to realize that they should turn it off and leave it the hell alone because they don't know what they're doing. What would you like to do?
>>20489936We need to attack before that thing becomes operational.Does it look like our armored force will make it in time? If not, we need the Vertibird to slow the workers down by strafing the area with machine gun fire.
>>20489985Attack before they finish fixing the UFO.If the armor won't arrive in time, the Vertibirds will need to slow the workers down.
>>20489962>>20489985^ This. This right here.
>>20489988ten we assault at two sides A battle tank in front with Heavily armored infantry as escort.
>>20490005We are probably only gonna use the tank to soak the Agro. Preferably since they might have a high explosive. We have to rely more on the mounted machine guns.
>>20489936Seeing that we have so much in our arsenal im pretty sure the West coast brotherhood have still a bigger arsenal and bigger foothold in the region.
>>20489988Agreed.
>>20490044[the west coast brotherhood number roughly 4-8 times what you do, and they're set to get into a war with the NCR over the proper use of old world tech. I.E. people who aren't brotherhood get to use prewar toys. so the Westcoast BoS aren't our problem. Karma will take care of them.]You have the RPGs, Rocket Launchers, and Tanks openb fire on the fort's gates. Then you charge in and clean up. APCs and MBTs open fire on anyone who resists. Amusingly enough that mostly consists of the guys in hazard suits, a fewof the rad-sick raiders fight back but most surrender and ask for a quick death. Also they want to be buried way the hell away from the saucer. You can see why, it's putting out 10 rads per second, not much but day after day in close proximity to the thing...Well anyway you have a flying saucer and 50 grateful raiders, half of whom are ghouls. what would you like to do?
>>20490195The raiders will be taken to New Boston, where they will be tried, sentenced, and work in a penal chain gang until such time as they have served their sentence. As for the flying saucer, get a hazmat team and an APC with a trolley, and take it back to New Washington for analysis.
>>20490253got no other bright ideas so yes to this.
Bump.
You have a hazmat team arrive on the scene, they lock down the saucer, and after a great deal of time fiddling around inside of the saucer figure out how to turn it off. From there they load the thing up in a cart and drag it back to New Boston. They hid it in one of the ware houses and leave it there until it can be picked up again. You decide to ship it over to new washington once your rail tunnel is ready for use.Tomcat jones meanwhile has the raiders escorted back to New Boston, after that he personally sets the explosives and oversees the demoliton of the raider fort. It was heavily irradiated anyway. The Raiders meanwhile are treated for rad poisoning and cancer... and then turned over to the Lord Protector of Alhambra. Surprisingly he only executes a quarter of them and then exiles the rest after giving them some money and a weapon for self defense.
The Lord Protector expresses his gratitude for your intervention and states that he does indeed owe a debt to Tomcat jones. You can probably call on him as a source of information now. Alright, you found a new city to trade with. But they're kind of prosperous and you can't offer them anything without dropping your power level disguise.Tunnel to New Washington is 1/10th of a way done. What would you like to do now?
>>20490415back to civ mode? What are points of interest
>>204904151. Scout for more resources.2. Train more soldiers (combat armor troops).3. Continue research on mutant trees.
rolled 3 = 3Tomcat jones sort of came to an end on his own, rather than beat a deadhorse I decided to let him go at his own pace.
Tired yet OP?
rolled 2 = 2You send out scouts to find resources, after traveling along the trade route and hearing news that Salvation has fallen and become a possesion of the Mutant Nation you find something unexpected. The first thing you notice is the gladiatorial arena, room enough for 20000 spectators. Secondly, the pens, there has to be enough capacity for 500000 slaves here. The arena holds blood sports and orgies every day, with specific events planned on the hour, these are never deviated from. They pit monsters against humans and mutants, mutants against humans, humans against mutants and everything in between. This settlement, is in short, a slaver's paradise. They make massive amounts of money off of this place. One of the good things about it, is that it's so amazingly large that you could probably sneak away with slaves in the dakr and no one could catch you.Provided you did it just right.
I got two more hours in me at most.Once I hit midnight I'm out though.
>>20490522Just right, huh. What kind of security system does the place have? Can we identify any escape routes that the freed slaves could use?And can our New Boston factory produce any kind of Howitzer?
>>20490522So this is not salvation? Cause im pretty sure Samson won't be into this. With this new things coming up raising the military power becomes more of an importance.
>tfw browse /tg/ for a while and want to get into DnD type games, but don't know how to go about finding a group in my area.None of my friends are interested. How do fa/tg/uys find groups to play with?
>>20490634Go to a Gamefinder General thread.>>20475579It's kind of obvious.
>>20490634Wrong thread champ?
>>20490522No leave the slaves alone. We need to see what Samson does. But I do agree. Rise our military capability.Train some recon, special ops, and sniper capability so we can go quieter if needed.Research and develop near silent vertibirds. We need to be able to use more vertibirds without drawing attention.Develop and attach more hologram emitters to advanced power armor mkII suits for our best power armor teams. It gives us he possibility of using them without revealing power level.Any other power armor suits, give them gill suits. It'll not quite disguise their power armor nature, but it's better than nothing.
You have enough resources to manufacture and supply one hundred howizters at will. You could ship them one by one via Vertiberd if you just hung a cargo crate from the gunship and traveled by night with your running lights off. Travel at a high enough altitude and even the best tracker can't follow an aircraft.if you cut the numbers down to fifty you can build motorised howtzers that run off powercells and can haul around a guncrew at around 100 Mph
>>20490660Motorized artillery would be better.Begin construction of 50 self-propelled Howitzers.Samson has taken Sanctuary City; how long does it appear that it will take him before he can deploy forces again?
>>20490660>>20490652So we all agree on Upgrade our military capability through training new personnel And research. We aren't at war with the colosseum yet so how about we make some initial contact. Motorised howitzer is the way to go which will be a more flexible in sieges and mobility. Plus 50 cannons is already crazy.
What you lack in personel you make up for in terrifying industrial capacity. You may want to conserve those resources and just build "enough" cannons and safe the rest for later. You can make ten more hologram cloak units if you cut your Cannon expense down to 25, 15 holograms cloaks if you make 10 motorised howitzers. The holograms would allow you to make any machine you put them on look like something else. Ghosts, gods, demons, a guy in metal armor. etc. etc.So whats it gonna be?
>>2049075210 Hologram cloaks and 25 Motorized Howitzers. If we're ever in a situation where we need to use Howitzers, we're going to need lots of them.
okay you have 25 motorised howitzers and 10 holograph cloaks. There went your budget. You have security bots, mr. handies, eyebots, and of course the power armor. You already have 8 security bots with cloak and 2 AMK2s with holocloaks. What would you like to do?
>>20490869Look into getting more money I guess.
>>20490869End turn since we can't do much anyways
Now that Samson has taken then city, congratulate him an establish diplomatic relations with him. Establish an embassy/trading post with his new city.
>>20490869Equip all 10 holographic cloaks on AMK2 suits. Now, start collecting information concerning the Colosseum from our contacts.
>>20490876How is new boston doing anyways on profit anyways?
Training time.Okay you can develop a special forces unit.Assault (Shootan, stabban, blowan shit upan), Covert Ops (disarming traps, picking locks, being suave), Technical Knowledge (The tech guy who builds things and hacks computers), Medical Aid (all things medical, treatan diseases, surgeran wounds, splintan bones), Assassination (sniping, throat slitting etc. etc.)Okay you can train a maximum of two spec ops groups. pic a name, pick a specialty, and keep in mind you can only have 6 people per unit so they're like ultra specialised (oh look at that you have 12 holocloaked AMK2s...)
>>20490936>>20491000Oh I fucked up. you get two specilties per spec ops unit. otherwise same as described.New Boston's doing great profit wise, how do you think you can afford all this?
>>20491000>>20491027Covert Ops + Assassination - "Shadow Squad"Technical Knowledge + Medical Aid - "The Repairmen"
The Colliseum, and for that matter, Salvation were run by "The Faith" They're a massive cult with origins in Christianty and Judiaism. They use original sin as an excuse to enslave "sinners" the idea being that as a slave suffers his sins are absolved until they finally disappear. They have a massive army that's armed with modern firearms and steam powered vehicles. They have a fondness for incendiery weapons and explosives and believe that the Faith m8ust rule the world or all will be punished with fire, as they were so long ago.In short creepy psuedo-christian cult that uses religion as a fruedian excuse to commit attrocities. They have DOZENS of religious orders dedicated to killing.
>>20491049Works for me, I take it we're gonna give 'em the holo-armor? we'll just assume they have kit suited to their fields of expertise...
>>20491088Yes. The two teams are meant to work in concert. Shadow Squad goes in to service the target, and the Repairmen provide them with the tools to do it and the repair and medical attention they may need after.
>>20491106okay you have info on the RELIGION OF EVIL, and a group of specialists.Would you like to contact Samson now?
>>20491069Oh hell yes. I will do anything do get one of those death cults. If will love to play a character to convince one of those assassination cults to join our side. And from the looks of it we will kill each other eventually so might as well start some moves.
>>20491134Yeah if this is suppose to happen
>>20491134No.As for the next set of actions, the Colosseum simply has too many slaves for us to be able to support. We need to increase crop production and water filtration capacity before we could do that, and for that we need more power. We need to find a source of nuclear fuel. We need these logistics ready before we free those slaves.Send out more scouts to find resources.
>>20491134Yeah, establishing some sort of diplomatic mission in Salvation City seems a solid idea.
>>20491155I agree with this anon, our resources are too stretched right now to go picking more fights. Samson is doing alright, so if he want to make a move, I'm sure we can find ways to assist him, but for now we need to focus on getting the resources we need to enable our heavy industry, and for renewing our supply base. Oh, and in the meantime we should look into the saucer. It might be a useless resource sink, but we need to find out before we make a call.
I'm getting yes, and no and "nuclear fuel."Samson's basuically broken into Salvation city and begun cleaning house. His hangman is busy as hell....Ha ha! death puns.Seruiously guys build some consensus.and think about all the applications of a high def hologram when applied to a 10 foot robot or a man in powered armor.
>>20491215Going for build resources
>>20491151>>20491166We don't need to have diplomatic missions yet, simply because we're so close. We're literally within 30 miles of each other, and we both have cars and radios to talk to each other with. Right now Samson is busy consolidating control over Salvation City. Let's let him finish that before talking with him.In the meantime we need to expand New Boston and find more resources.
>>20491245The "No's" are about finding more resources and hoping to get nuclear fuel to power another reactor.
It looks like the consensus is 'No' since we need resources and shit.
NW to NB line 3/10ths complete.Gonna say that we're going for resources? oh and...Upon further examination you find that the trees has struck a deposit of coal. They're making use of a strange biochemical process to produce a natural sort of pesticide by metabolizing the coal. As a side effect this the trees produce a black tar-like sap and happen to be flammable as hell. Fort Endurance mad some discoveries. Also the men are terrified and want to come home. Every day a HellPuma with a pelt basically made up of scars comes upon the hill where the fort is built, stares at the fort for exactly one hour, then leaves.
>>20491342The trees are now a resource source yay. Build for resources i suppose. Why did we make fort endurance again?
>>20491366Study the trees in hopes for fast lumber
>>20491342And they call themselves men of Fort -Endurance-? Afraid of a little kitty cat?...Unless they mean, like, exactly an hour each day. As in, to the minute/second. Because that'd be fucking freaky. How hard are HellPuma to kill? Could a vertibird drive it off? Hell, would we be going -too- enclave if we captured and weaponised the damn things?
>>20491389fuck that teach it to drive a tank.
>>20491342Alright men. I want our biologists to go over the Hell Puma and see if they can be intelligent. If this is actual intelligence, we will withdraw our troops and attempt some kind of communication. If this is simply animal cunning; send in a squadron of Vertibirds and kill that cat.
>>20491366So now the mutant forest is twice as precious. Say buff security but nothing that will cost us. Few more guards and patrols in the walls. This means there some things in this forest other than us.
>>20491389>Afraid of a little kitty cat? Those things can tear MBT's apart. An animal capable of generating enough force, and having claws hard and sharp enough, to tear through tank armor. These things are no laughing matter.
>>20491389That's your decision, as long as you don't slaughter civilians for sneezing during a speech I think you can just say "Lawl, grey and grey morr-ahl-eye-tee" and yes. The puma sits there for an hour, exactly an hour, at exactly the same time of day, he does this once a week at monday, on 8:00 AM and accounts for daylights saving time. He stands there for an hour and leaves precisely at 9:00 AM. You can literally set your watch by him. No I'm not being sarchastic the puma is doing this. How hard is it to kill? It's a puma, its as large as, and weighs as much as a main battle tank. You tell me.As fo rthe lumber? With genetic modification you could probably modify it to grow really fast, it would have to spend a minimum of 6 months growing to get any gain in lumber, and it won't have the flammability if you modify it for fast lumber.
>>20491402So do we do that? The only way to study it is to capture it or someone put a probe into their nest/ habitat. Both which would need skilled personnel which will be costly if they all die.
>>20491412Oops, sorry, that was the joke I was trying to make. I should have made it clearer that I knew how scary they were. The forest has become quite valuable to us, so short of a stampede of the damn things, we will have to deal with them and stand our ground.
>>20491432So that means two kinds of tree species in the forest. The one that makes coal and the one that makes lumber. Let's take a strain of each and send it to washington. Before we make it fast lumber lets make seeds of the coal tree first. So that we can plant it in a separate place and grow a coal forest.
Now my dear anons I want you to pause a moment and think. Vertibirds use multilasers and miniguns and missile launchers. HellPumas live in a forest of trees which process coal and turn it into flammable tar.Think about that.
>>20491458I like this plan.
>>20491432Well, how about we follow the cat and see where it goes. If it has a larger pride than we can deal with, then we back off. Capturing would be damn hard, considering that I doubt we have tranqs for something the size of an MBT. We got any corpses lying around?
>>20491458no see the plant nneeds coal to create the flammable tar, if you plant it elsewhere its just an ugly tree. There is no fast lumber, you'd have to ship that back to NW and have geneticists spend time developing fast lumber.Basically the tree is only extraordinary if coal is nearby.
>>20491471Damn, all I can think of now is trying to lure slavers in and watching the fireworks.
>>20491432We'll want to create two forest farms, then. This one to produce the flammable tar, and another forest somewhere else where the genetically modified trees are planted. As for the Puma, let's try leaving behind voice recorder on a stick. We also leave behind three big buckets and a ball. When it comes up, the voice recorder asks if it understands us, and that we're willing to listen to its demands. If it understands, and is willing to talk, put the ball in the far right bucket. If it doesn't want to talk, put the ball in the far left bucket. Also, we've killed other Hell Puma's before, right? Was an autopsy ever done on them?
>>20491471Looks like we have to go tribal. Call in our supermutant/ tribal allies and call in a contest to whomever catches this deadly beast using their hunting skill! With spears and melee of course. It will be a tale for all our peoples!
>>20491499Can the Tribals, all of the ones we know, tell us anything about this HellPuma and its strange behavior?
>>20491499Hence we need to stand our ground. That means we find out more about the Hellpuma, because as OP has pointed out, buzzing them with vertibirds is a terrible fucking idea, and I'm not sending our troops into a forest to attempt to wipe out something we know nothing about. We'd just be pissing away men.
>>20491486At the moment? no. But the forest is also home to loads of freakish wild life, the important predators being wolfs the size of horses and bears, angry, mutant bears that live in constant agony.oh, and there's squirrels that use tools.
>>20491525>>20491532Agreed once they go into the deep forest they will just prey for the wild life. How about some flyby scans of the forest. So we can get more info on it.
I say we bag and tag that kitty for SCIENCE shit
>>20491532Oh, the intelligent squirrels are an afterthought? Damn we're in over our heads here. I'm voting talking to the tribals to see what they know/can find out. Surely the locals can use their innate cunning and primitiveknowhow to find out more (We don't say that last part to them BTW)
>>20491532>squirrels that use tools.we are fucked
>>20491520The tribals call the old Puma Scar, they know him by his description (normal hell pumas have a coat of ashen grey fur and bloodshot red eyes. Scar doesn't have much fur left and his eyes are luminescent green.) They basically tell you not to bother trying to catch or kill him.Better men have tried, for that matter worse men, and men of equal worth. It always ends with a missing corpse and belongings strewn in a particular trees branches. They warned you bro. They warned you about Scar.
>>20491558Do the tribals have intricate knowledge of the forest? Do they usually go in there and surviving? If yes sponsor some of this with what we have. Also flybys.
>>20491575ok you know what. WE ARE GOING TO TAKE SCAR ALIVE! hell or high water we will do this!
>>20491575Then lets not bother him that much until we have a super elite team who can do it. Let's just get some info from the forest and just stand vigilant in our walls.
>>20491575Leave scar be, just take the seeds. We'll be back...
>>20491575Alright, so, we don't further antagonize Scar. Now, about those squirrels; has the science team seen these tool-using squirrels? Attempted communication with them?
>>20491613>We'll be back...
>>20491503why don't we just try and do this?also squirrels that use tools are either going to turn out to be our best friends or worst nightmares calling it right now.
Develop a very specialized traq gun strong enough to take it down. Park a robot to wait for it.
>>20491575Can we do the communication experiment from >>20491503Also, what do the Tribals say about the tool-using squirrels? Has our science team seen them?
You send men out into the forest to collect samples. They're in AMK2 armor, and equipped with harpoon guns, and close combat weapons like rippers and power fists. The environment would make for one HELL of a forest fire. Mostly they're there to cllect the large, tarry black fruits that the Coke (wiki it) Trees leave behind and maybe collect some interesting samples. You have Worgs shipped back to New Washington and even some of the Forest's surprisingly intelligent squirrels. One man leaves three buckets, a ball, and a voice recorder near Scar's usual "stare at the humans" spot. The voice instructs scar to put the ball into the right bucket if he wishes to make demands and begin communication. It instructs him to but the ball in the left bucket if he wants to be left alone. He puts the ball in the right bucket.
>>20491665Basically lets' do this
>>20491575I wonder if we could catch a few normal hell pumas for study hell I want to study this whole damn forest.
>>20491670Awww shit. Ok, I guess the next step is to get an unarmed robot out there to act as a mediator, and maybe rig up some sort of light button system. We can try and teach him morse code or something, seeing as he understands english.
>>20491665The tribals fucking HATE the squirrels, they call them "black vermin" due to the squirrel's black fur coat. They're very good at getting places you don't want them to be. More so tthan most animals. They figured out how to open cages on their first try. You have to padlock them inside the cages. Dave swears he saw one pick the lock on its cage and leave before he got the squirrel shipment sent back to NW.You're scientists are putting the squirrels through their paces and.... they keep revising their intelligence upwards. It's already way past what chimps usually score on these tests.
>>20491670This forest officially scares me its as if the damn thing came out of hell its self with all the scary or freaky shit that can even tear a man in power armor limb from limb.welp first step find a sucke- i mean volunteer who will play and yes and no game with the intelligent puma vey use of two buckets and a ball. Also lets check those squirrels out.
>>20491698How about an eyebot. We still have some for communication>>20491707Lets make diplomatic contact with the squirells Imagine our tactical and strategic advantage when this guys can be spies, saboteurs and scouts!
>>20491670>>20491707SUCCESS!Now, tell our scientists to treat the squirrels nicely. We don't know how intelligent they are, and Scar seems pretty fucking intelligent.Actually, skip the tests and go straight to human intelligence level tests for the squirrels. And tell them that if they escape or break stuff, we can't give them food.Next, leave a radio, constantly set to send/receive like a phone, say that we are willing to listen to his wishes, and will accommodate them where we can. We leave behind a push-button light system for "YES" "NO" "MAYBE".
I don't suppose anyone would be up for just burning the forest down now, before we get a BAD END at the hands of the various critters. When wolves the size of horses are the least frightening prospect, you know shit is going to get real.
>>20491670>>20491707my god....
>>20491707In that case develop a way to communicate with them try speech first if that does not work do written language.
>>20491724We can do it with radios or an Eyebot (but I think Scar wouldn't like it) and a bunch of reinforced push-button lights. >>20491725Those squirrels will either be great friends, or our worst enemies.
Hand over the nuts and no one gets hurt hairless ape!
>>20491734Come now no need to go all exterminatus on it just yet. If these squirrels can survive here im pretty sure we which have a full Military arsenal plus energy weapons and vehicles can take it. It's not like there eldritch powers inside WAIT ELDRITCH POWERS EXIST IN FALLOUT. DUNWICH BUILDING NOPENOPENOPENOPENOPEAlso do we have psykers yet?http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Psyker
those squirrels, the puma, and that fucking forest it terrifies me shit less. op did you like magically teleport this forest from some book's version of hell i mean HOLY SHIT this place is looks like it came from some twisted version of a layer of hell.
>>20491771
>>20491778
YOU'VE REQUESTED A PSYKER M'LORD?
>>20491728Questions to Scar:"Can there be a peace between us?"We need to find out if he just wants us to stay further to back, if he wants us gone entirely, if there's something we can trade to be able to keep our science station here.
>>20491810Suppsoe important this. We wouldn't want our tanks being ripped.
>>20491778NOOOO stop giving op ideas look what he did to fucking squirrels and pumas for christ sake much less that god forsaken forest from hell.Just imagine what he will do to PSYKERS.
One of your scientists, a young man named Fineas vollunteers to attempt to communicate with scar. He goes out with voice recorders and numerus other scientific equipment. He doesn't need any of it.YOU ARETHEGUY!You are Fineas Edward Line. You are 20 years old and you have vollunteered for a bold experiment. You have your blot tests, yes, no, maybe indicators, and voice recorders ready when Scar approaches you.It has to weigh around 8 tons, probably more, and it's entirely silent. You look deep into Scars glowing green eyes and then you fall inside. You arn't F.E. Line anymore. You're Scar, a young scar, just a cub. You're DEEP in the forest, at the core of the place. There's a crashed airplane Scar/F.E.Line Recognizes it as an airplane, at some point it held cargo tanks of thick, viscous goo, a protien culture for preserving a virus. Now the plane lies at the bottom of a mossy lake. It's a warm summer day and Scar/F.E.Line is hot, he wants to cool off and so he goes into the water.
>>20491833C'mon A new challenged to be conquered by the American Union!
>>20491839a psychic puma who can tear tanks apart my god...........
>>20491839
>>20491839>land-predator weighing 8 tons at least>able to tear about MBT's.>intelligent>psychicHoly shit, Scar is a scary fucking piece of work.
>>20491833im too late
this? oh no anon, this isn't from a book. This is all me!A HellPuma cub goes into the water. Something else comes out, stronger, smarter, more vicious than an animal, crueler than any mere feline.Scar/F.E.Line live, they live for a long time and they survive, puny humans with traps and tricks, brave humans with courage and drugs, large humans with bulging muscles and green skin. Scar/F.E.Line survive the bears and wolves, he survives pain, and suffering the likes of which no one can imagine. And he is lonely. He wants more creatures like himself. THAT is is his demand.Scar/F.E.Line seperate and Fineaus is himself again. He picks up his notebook and begins to write furiously.YOU AREN'TTHEGUY!Okay you're done being Fineas. Now you know what Scar wants.
>>20491867don't forget the squirrels..................
>>20491877What?
>>20491880TIME FOR SOME FUCKING SCIENCE!
>>20491880Let's cut him a deal. He let us study him and be part of the union officially an we will give him companionship and a mate. It's strikes me how this guy figure out that we can do this.
>>20491880So, he wants us to make more of him.BWAHAHAHAHAHAHASeriously though guys, we're not going to give him more troops, right? He just as much as admitted he's a cruel and cunning piece of work. Giving him more just makes him more of a threat, not just for us right now but long term, for the safety of our nascent group.
>>20491880so Scar wants the pumas to be PSYCHIC in addition to being able to tear tanks apart. What FUN. First though dispatch an elite team on a virtibird to locate said lake so as to acquire the samples located in the downed plane.
>>20491880....We can give no guarantee. The mutagen may no longer work anymore. It may too diffuse, or decayed. We could attempt to dip another into the FEV, but the success rates for a Super Mutant are not encouraging. Also, we have to consider how dangerous this could be, creating another creature like Scar.Does Scar provide what he will give in return?
>>20491897Im pretty sure giving him a mate will give him a sense of loyalty towards us. Plus creating more of them we might produce a source of highly intelligent beings also some source of shock troopers while keeping them in a short leash .Think of the science!
The squirrels don't understand english. they are however quick learners and once given the right incentives you manage to teach them some basic communication. These squirrels can weigh up to twenty pounds and grow to be the size of a large cat. After months of learning your language they protest their captivity. They wish to be returned home.
negotiation time it is clear that Scar is lonely but we need a guarantee that is won't bite on the ass later on.
>>20491880we need to take blood samples from scar, some hell pumas and some samples from that lake then we will work from that.
>>20491913yes send them home i suppose keeping them longer will probably cause us some animosity
>>20491900That's what he started out as.But after all this time, he seems tired of fighting, like some Super Mutants from the Master's Army. I agree with this guy >>20491897If Scar will join us as a citizen, who won't give us trouble as we won't trouble him, then it should be fine. Besides, if it IS FEV that did this, he's sterile.
>>20491913Exactly how much time is passing at the moment? How long since the founding of New Boston?
>>20491913Okay, tell the squirrels that we will return them home. However, the American Union does not discriminate, and they can consider joining us.As long as they don't mess with us, we won't mess with them anymore.
>>20491918If he is as intelligent as he think he is. We can get him to emotionally attached to his mate. This will form a sense of loyalty because we gave something than can be said impossible. It's like god answering the prayer. If he is genuinely lonely. Or he might just double cross us after this so we gotta keep on high alert. Now let's see we can do it first.
>>20491913shit these fucking squirrels are smart most importantly though DON'T get on their bad side otherwise we will probably end up burning the entire forest down to the ground trying rid of the fuckers.Agree and apologize for capturing them stating that we only curious and wanted to learn also ask if we can keep in touch some way.
>>20491925Hmmm, so long as he plays ball, yeah, I won't object to trying. I'm still cautious about giving him what he wants, but we're a mockery of all we stand for if we don't at least give him a chance to work with us.And send the squirrels home, with our apologies. If they're intelligent enough to want out, we have no right to keep them.
>>20491922anyone object to this? it sounds like a good plan
>>20491956Mkay.this is good>>20491939IMAGINE IT. OUR NEW SOLDIERS!.If we get lucky.
The U.S. Army did plenty of tests to create human psychics during the great war.Every. Single. Subject. Went. Insane. You have 12 hell puma corpses, ranging in size from a juvenile that though dissemboweling an engineer to a mother who was protecting her cubs (which you're raising by the way.) All autopsies indicate that a normal hellpuma is about an intelligent as a puma. You also have data on FEV, it's known to increase the intelligence of animals when they are exposed to it. By all accounts if you exposed a normal hell puma to purestrain FEV you'd get a human level intellect in a hellpuma body.and THAT is what Scar wants, more intelligent Hellpumas so he can build a community.
>>20491956So long as he gives them willingly, yeah. We don't want to start a war with him.
>>20491956No objections. That's where we have to start. Just let Scar know WHY we're doing it (in order to give him what he wants) and we should be able to do it without too many casualties.OH! Before we let the squirrels go, we should ask them if the wolves are just dumb, or they're too stupid to try to talk to.
>>20491926half a year, give or take a week.oh, and animals exposed to FEV? no they don;t get sterile unless they're dipped. The master used a specific combination of toxic waste to build endurance, and a massive dose of FEV to create super mutants. Scar took a swim in a lake tainted with what appears to be FEV. The real question is, what strain of FEV was it? West coast strain? East Coast Strain? there's a reason the Super Mutants from each side of the continent look so different.
>>20491969If he wants a community and he wants us to do it. Lets get him to swear undying loyalty. In front of an audience and video tape it. Say you will show it towards his future descendants in this agreement we make. I mean just because he is cunning ruthless the descendants my actually be genuine loyal to us being under our care their whole livesIf we go through with this lets give say the duchy of the dark forest and work for us their new sovereign.
>>20492009Now this is just a suggestion to be taken half seriously.
the best part about all this? based on actual Fallout content. Look up the FEV experiments. They scrapped aplan for intelligent racoon tribes in FO 1 The squirrels indicate that they (and Scar) are the only intelligent inhabitants of the coke forest. They are willing to forgive your actions if you just take them home, and may consider joining the union if given proper incentives. You send them back to the forest, and you teach them to work a ham radio as well as morse code. They take the radio with them and haul it off into the forest. eventually they climb into the trees and you lose sight of them.
>>20492046As we send a hazmat team in a Vertibird to the lake to get samples of the FEV (tell Scar that we're doing this, so that he knows that these scientists dying will delay us being able to deliver what he wants). Also, I think we should extract some kind of oath from Scar. We're helping him to create a community of intelligent living weapons. Get some kind of oath or treaty from him, that he and his pride will not attack humans (unless attacked first), and we will not attack him. I don't know if we can get an oath of loyalty; that might be too much. But I suppose we can try it first.Ask him to join the American Union and be a loyal citizen if the project works. If he doesn't agree, at least go for non-aggression.
>>20492046First we gonna more about the squirrels before we can find ways for them to join the Union. Let's send a diplomatic mission. A guy there to establish our presence/learn more about them.Would we send a soldier to show that we are a force to be reckoned with or a diplomat who will win their heats and minds
come to think of it Dorf fortress may have had a hand in this. You send a team of troopers in AMK2 armor DEEP into the Coke Forest, but after many battles with worgs, the occasional hell puma, and giant weevils which spit fire they find the lake Fineas saw in his dream. They collect samples and upon returning to base they find that the lake contains mutated FEV. It's a very specific strain.Fineas meanwhile meets Scar in his spot every day and...communes with him. Fineas is become just a tad odd, and Scar seems more...serene. Regardless Fin is able to get his hands on blood, urine, hair, and spittle from Scar for the Experiments. He also come sup with one HELL of a tranq for capturing HellPumas.
>>20492076......the squirrels live in a forest where the trees weep flammable tar, there are wolves the size of horses, and Hell Pumas that can take apart a tank, and you want to send a single person there? When it's all we can do to keep Fort Endurance inhabited?
>>20492073Well i recommend we make a mate first. Give him time and get him emotionally attached and grateful towards us. Then we start making other pumas. I want to remind everybody that it is not a good idea to do the experiment in washington. We are talking about someone or a community of people able to siege us without tools. If we are gonna do this let's do it in Fort endurance.
>>20492092>Fineas is become just a tad odd, and Scar seems more...serene. That's interesting. Maybe the psychic communication works both ways, and this makes Scar more human.>>20492098The genetic engineering and experimentation would have to be done at NW because that's the only place with the facilities. But the original plan was to have the community based in the Coke Forest.
>>20492095i suppose you are right. Let's just request their presence every once and awhile and build a relationship
>>20492092wait wolves the size of horses holy shit dire wolves went extinct over ten thousand years ago guess the fallout brought them back nifty now we just gotta see if we can domesticate them.wait people we need to make sure making more psychic hell pumas wont bite us on the ass.
>>20492124Dire wolves you say? Please tell me we are considering wolf cavalry. If we can domesticate them we can save alot in fuel and have new mode of transportation and war. Also hopefully all this science activities isn't hitting in our science
>>20492143>isn't hitting much in our resources
>>20492095You forgot the ecosystem of insects that feed on the flamable tar, the vcarnivorous vines that strangle the life out of creatures that try to eat its fruit, the fire breathing weevils and the ponds full of giant carnivorous frogs.
>>20492143We have MBT's, APC's, and the ability to recharge our fusion batteries. What combat niche would Worg Cavalry fulfill?
>>20492159Deep recon. Same reason the imperium uses horses. Cars and vehicles will need parts , fuel and maintenance know how. If not that we can sell them as luxury goods.
>>20492143you can always try.please note that if you produce a "mate" there's no guarantee that she'll like or want to have anything to do with Scar. Also you'd have to capture an 8+ ton land predator and bring it back to NW to be the subject of an experiment. Now who wants to tpo do what? I think I've created or terrifying realm to do things with. Shall we try for the Bride of Scar first? Wolf Cavalry? or Maybe yoyu just want to teach some squirrels how to plant C4?
i am loving this!! thought it is a bit balls to the walls with our power level i can see the real wasteland looking like this, cause you know, the games had those small ass settlements due to constraints... right?anyways carry on o mighty GM
>>20492185This isn't costing us too much resources yes?
>>20492185I vote for the Scar experience.
>>20492197And also GM thanks for making this game it's really fun. It made my summer a whole lot better
>>20492185wolf caveelry to mask our powerlevle bro, some tribals with massive warg mounts would raise much fewer flags then APC's filled with power armored assholes
>>20492220b-but we are not asshole!
>>20492220Let's go with this first
>>20492185Let's start with Bride of Scar first. He's been patient, we should deliver on our word. Now, let him know that we can't create a mate for him. We can only make a HellPuma similar to him.Unless he can point out a HellPuma female that seems to like him, we can't guarantee that the first one will work out. If we have any, get literature on marriage counseling ready.
In a year or so, if we've built up our resources we should try and build Fort Endurance into a proper research outpost. For now, we'll hold off on the demo squirrels, and maybe we should consider treating the cubs we're raising with the FEV. That'll give Scar little ones to worry about, which will make him too busy to worry about us. Oh, and we should ask him before we do this.
>>20492199>>20492212Cool, glad you're enjoying it. The settlements we're always tiny because of time constraints at first, and then Bethesda missed-the-point. anyways. With patience, and a muzzle, wolf cavalry are doable.Seems like we're going bride of scar. If we do that you're gonna have to track down and tranq AT LEAST 1 female Hellpuma.
>>20492243let's ROLL
>>20492243Can we ask Scar if he has any preferences, and have him point out a female for us to tranq. We can't exactly do plastic surgery on a HellPuma afterwards, so he'd better be sure of the looks. And we don't have marriage counselors for 8-ton living tanks, so he'd better be sure of her personality. We're not getting the HellPuma equivalent of a screetchy bitch wife and have him complain that our choice sucked.
>>20492259so we get him to track and lure one for us. We talk to him where a good spot to do that. When we tranq one we start with out science!
>>20492243llets get him to point out a likely candidate and maybe ask him to help us capture some wargs, get a little team building/trust building exercises in here
>>20492259So basically, something like the first couple seconds of this:http://youtu.be/2HON-PtMGukScar: That's true, he's your biggest fan.Bride of Scar: Oh, you! Cut that out and get ready!Scar: Yes dear.....*mutter*she who must be obeyed*mutter*....Son of Scar getting woken up by the HellPuma female from the next pride over and getting his ass schooled by her. ...........Actually, that would be pretty funny if that happened.
You get Shadow Squad and The repairmen together. The assasins are issued with the Tranq rifles (Fin had to design one from the ground up for his tank cartridge) and they venture out into the forest with Scar. The Spec Ops groups are in their holoarmor and they are posing as Worgs.Fin has been getting...odd. He's been making use of the autodoc to modify himself. He's stronger than a normal human, has feline eyes, claws, and fangs now. Thankfully he hasn't quite gotten around to murdering people with his bare hands. Yet.He does ride a Worg though, he doesn't bother with leash or a pair of reins, he just snarls at it and looks it in the eyes occasionally. And it does precisely what he wants it to.Scar meanwhile looks more at peace with the world than you ever imagined he could be. There's clearly some manner of exchange going on here. After spending a few days gathering Worgs for practice you finally hunt down a female Hellpuma, she actually seems reasonably fond of Scar.
>>20492308lets catch this bitch!
So of course you shoot her and pump her full of potent opiates. To be safe Scar has you repeat the process with 3 more females, and 3 more males. You now have 7 cages full of adult HellPumas back at New Washington. The FEV experiments look good on paper but you've never tried them before. Which of the subjects would you like to start on?Male 1-3?Female 1-4?
>>20492308Okay, we don't want to fuck this up.Let's catch her. But test the FEV strain on her second.Use the FEV on another HellPuma first, make sure that it works, have Scar examine the work by talking with it, THEN we use the treatment on his potential mate.
>>20492323Okay we start with males first. Just one though
>>20492323Male 1. Reinforced enclosure. After initial tests are done, we bring Male 1 to Scar for inspection that the treatment is to his liking.Oh, and someone tell F.E. Line that if he wants, he can request transfer to the new Worg Cavalry Division if he wants. Just...don't kill anyone.
>>20492323Start with a male, then alternate. Also, let's get someone to have a sit down with Fin. We're getting warning signs and not addressing it. See how he's going, ask him why exactly he thinks it's a good idea to make changes in himself. Nice and friendly like. Though restrict his access to New Washington, and get some power armoured troops stationed in Fort Endurance. This seems like it's building up to him going rogue with the IntelliPumas.
>>20492354We're in good graces with scar so i don't suppose. He'll try to kill us yet. How about scar thru all of this?
>>20492354I just noticed the name. How the hell did I not notice it before. Fuck you OP, you magnificent bastardYep, F. E. Line is in too deep. I'm voting putting this project on hold until we have an all clear from a psychologist. Scar can go yowl at the moon.
>>20492354We should ask Scar, without using Line as translator, if he knows what he's doing to the guy. That if the psychic drain could be spread over multiple humans. If it can be any human to do this. If Scar taking humanity and Line being given felineness can't be mediated somehow. We're willing to work with him here, but he's got to tell us what's going on.
>NW to NB underground line is finished. Construction of transport carts is finished. maximum width of transportable objects in 30 feet. Maximum height is 20 feet. Maximum weight load of carts is 15 tons. You expose the first male to FEV1, it takes 3 weeks but you eventually manage to teach him basic english, via the use of a collar mounted voice box you're able to converse with it, It's vocabulary is very simple. The scientists take to calling him Adam, upon Presentation toScar proves that Adam is a little dim but over all a good sort.Females 1-4Males 2-3Pure strain FEVMutant Strain FEV
>>20492385Now let's try the mutant strain on another male. And start female with the strain we used for adam. How is adam with the scientist and scar? Also do we have enough security in that area?>
Our next president...
>>20492385Send the UFO to New Washington via the underground tunnel. Scientists that work on the UFO are completely separate fields from the ones working on the Puma project, so we shouldn't see a decrease in progress. We used Pure FEV on Adam, right?Let's try Pure FEV on Female 1, Mutant on Male 2, and Mutant on Female 2.Make sure that Scar's favorite is NOT Female 1 or 2. We don't want to damage the goods yet.
>>20492403Also start research in this mindmeld.
when we go the femal try and tell it stories of scar and keep it separate from the other males, give ith things like a blanket slightly sented like scar little things to push her in his direction
>>20492385>>20492414Also, in the intervening time, did we get a chance to talk with Fin about his...new perspective on life? Also, any new movements from Samson?
How is things in civmode. I think we got too deep into this science experiment.
>>20492354>>20492375I'm amazed no one noticed the pun right off the bat. Fineas Edward Line? F.E.Line? I'm a horrible person. [/spioler]You have Fin's access to NW restricted and sit him down with some counselors. It turns out that he was the one who initiated the personality exchange. Before he came into contact with Scar, scar was nothing more than an atypical predator dealing with the whole "only one of my kind" thing. Then He made contact with Fin, and they tasted eachother's memories. Through Fin Scar learned what it was to know the company of others, the safety that law and order brings and that simple, structured rules are the foundation of any good society. But the transfer worked both ways. Fin learned the thrill of the hunt, the joy of crushing life from prey, the exhiliration of torture and cruelty. He's coping, but Scar's walking around with his memories and he's walking around with Scar's memories. Being a normal human is unbearable. He needs the increased physical abilities-
>>20492422 whoops, didn't mean to spoiler the whole thing. He needs the increased physical abilities so he can hunat and rend and tear. Scar needs exactly the opposite, at first he was just curious about companionship and loyalty and all those lauded human things. But now he has Fin's memories and now he needs the companionship and sens of community. Now he needs a cause to serve. And Fin needs to kill things or he'll simply go mad.
>>20492422With finn becoming more of the wild why don't we make a permanent scar companion. He seems to like it there and scar seems to be attached to him. Since he is the on becoming more aggressive Let's keep an eye on him.How about send him to the forest and let loose the beast.
>>20492422>>20492436Okay, obviously the guy isn't going to be able to handle regular science work anymore. How does domesticating worgs sound to him? Forcing those huge things to obey him and breaking their resistance to human control?Or he can join up with a long-range Worg scout unit. Or even better, part of a shocktrooper platoon. We're still sending patrols to kill raiders and slavers, right?Or would he prefer being put into a special operations wetwork unit so he can stalk and kill specificied targets? As for Scar, offer him citizenship with the American Union. We're now living in an age where Man is not the only intelligence on this Earth, and America must adapt.
You have the saucer shipped via the NW-NB tunnel. Would you like the mining bots to do anything else?Don't worry. Civ mode will be fine. This is just an interlude to other stuff. We can't cover everything at once.Oh, and scientists are examining the saucer. Thge anti-grav is FUCKED. that's a technical term, something to do with quantum corrosion. The power source, weaponry, and Force Field projection systems seem to be fine though, which of those do you want studied? THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE! Seriously, you'll cause more "quantum corrrosion" when you remove the system you want. So pick carefully.
>>20492446Tell him how much we would love him to join us in companionship. The future that we can offer to him and his species! Since the new hellpumas wil lbe domesticated. They wont be savages and will be more easily domesticated.See guys our plan on getting another species on our side finally working out.! Can't wait till we tear a new asshole in Lost hills. Also since the west coast brotherhood are more buffedIs the NCR more buffed too?
>>20492446Anywhere but here is my vote. This sounds an alright solution, but dude either needs to go back to what he was, or leave. And from the sounds of it he doesn't particularly want to stay in our sort of society. Letting him leave with Scar works. As changed as he is, he'll fit in with the Intellipumas and can still give us some way of maintaining contact.Scar as an American Citizen doesn't work though. Mutants are just strong/differently coloured humans. Scar and his pack aren't the same as us. An alliance would be great, but trying to bring him under our laws won't work.
>>20492466>will be more easily domesticated.assimelated to society,
Fin wants a field position, either as a Worg scout, or a shock trooper, you can pick. You test mutant FEV on the 2nd male. It's not a success. He does develop psychic powers but he goes insane and you're forced to kill him. The autopsy shows anomolies in the brain. If you don't mind capturing, killing, and then perfecting to process so you can produce intelligent psychic apex predators that weigh in at an excess of 8 tons then there's nothing wrong with this course of action.you pick the 4th female, and inject her with Purestrain FEV. She's a lot smarter than Adam ever was and the Scientists take to calling her Lilith. Scar pronounces her to be a success and a credit to his species.Short of disecting Adam and Lillith's brain the science boys can't tell you why one became fairly intelligent and the other is only just capable of being considered intelligent.Female 1-3Male 3
>>20492465Can we get the mining bots to start excavating under Fort Endurance? Unless we want to add more Z levels to New Boston, but I think that can be left for now. Or, how long would it take to dig a tunnel to Salvation City? If we want to control it eventually, it makes sense to start now if it'll be a long term project.Without proper research, can we get an idea of how compact the power source is? If it can be modified, that could make Vertibirds even more bitching. Same with the weaponry. The force field would have more long term applications though. Not voting yet, just pitching ideas to the thread.
>>20492466the NCR is ten ormore times your number, but they're still a fledgling nation that's stretching its wings, and while the brotherhood outnumber you, you're tech puts them to shame. they do NOT have prewar equivelent facilities.
>>20492493Salvation city isnt even ours. Right now we're just trying to build military strength. Our next possibble military conquest would be the coloseum.>>20492503Also OP when we do meet the legion. Let it be a hard, bloody and glorius campaign
>>20492490Okay. I suggest that we talk this over with Scar. The Pure FEV is the safest choice for his people. The mutant strain is too volatile as it is, and all of the testing that we've done with human psychics ended badly. Also tell him that we feel uncomfortable killing Adam and Lilith to find out why they came out the way they are. As for Fin, put him up as a Worg scout for now. Once we have enough Worg domesticated, he can lead a hunter-killer pack to hunt down slavers.
>>20492506In RP and literal sense.
>>20492508And the face of the american union newest most feared soldier!. Ah propaganda!
>>20492490I think for now we should avoid creating abominations against all that is holy and decent. Keep making the intelligent ones, just the less weaponised version. For the next experiment go female with the purestrain. Is F.E. still involved with the experimentation process? I know that we didn't specify at all, but the elder i'm representing would have been against it. I just worry about him trying the mutant strain later. Oh, and let the young man work with worgs. Everything considered, he did good.
>>20492493you don't know how compact the power source, there's a lot of glowing cables and they're all sort of tangled. They attach to a series of components that make up the guts of the craft. part of the reason the antigrav system is dead is because so many of its constituent systems were destroyed when a 10th of the craft's hull was destroyed. The rest sort of corroded as they we're being run by the raiders.TL;DR the innards look like spaghetti. but they're different coloured spaghetti so you can pick and choose one. but the rest will become so much spare parts.
>>20492493For the UFO, I'm torn between the power source and the force field. The power source, we have compact power sources, but the alien one offers enough to power anti-grav. Then there's the force field, something we don't have and would be very powerful to be able to deploy.I'm going to vote power source. From there, we can hopefully come up with our own force field analog.
>>20492506We don't control Salvation City yet, but if we eventually bring it under our control, having a tunnel partly built will save time, especially if we need to resupply it against enemies. Though Samson looks to be legit, so that is less of a concern.
>If you don't mind capturing, killing, and then perfecting to process so you can produce intelligent psychic apex predators that weigh in at an excess of 8 tons then there's nothing wrong with this course of action.I literally cannot see anything wrong with this. Please continue. Also,Scar for president!
>>20492526Power source it is. Are forces are still invincible so we don't need the upgrade yet
>>20492530Samson owns Salvation City; building a tunnel there would be an act of war, since it creates an invasion corridor that bypasses all city defenses.
>>20492534Lets just get the Psychic Puma tanks under another experiment. RIght now let just finish creating Scar's new species.
>>20492490>Fin wants a field position, either as a Worg scout, or a shock trooper, you can pick. Can't he be both? If not, shock trooper sounds more of his thing. For the UFO research, I vote for Forcefield Generator
>>20492536Plus we only did the tunnel so we could connect Fort Hellmurdercastle to New Washington. In other words to connect one secret james bond base to another. Just like james bond/Austin powers
>>20492524Sounds good OP, thanks.I reckon we go with power source. If we increase our power generation capabilities then all sorts of things become possible, especially since we should have a bunch of spare parts to use to integrate shit. Even if we can't make it portable, advanced power gen will make new facilities easier to create. Plus it shouldn't be much of a leap later to figuring out how to make it go boom.
yes you can begin builduing basement levels beneath Fort Endurance. the Mining bots are currently located at NW base though.Fin's still involved with the Intellipuma project but all his augmentations are surgical, artifcial muscles, he's as stroing as a normal puma now, retractable metal claws in his fingers as replacements for his fingernails, improved senses. He's living proof that implants are a good thing. but he's kind of creepy, what with the whole animal mentality/personality bleed through.
>>20492546Then we should get the robots to start on building another secret base under Fort Endurance. We can use it as a more permanent/sophisticated research outpost.
>>20492562Have Fin work off excess aggression in the Coke Forest hunting weevils and frogs.Okay, we've come to a consensus on the UFO: Power Source. Also, since we have discord on how to proceed with the Puma Project, let's talk it over with Scar, to see if he's willing to accept non-psychic IntelliPumas.
Power source it is. Your scientists begin disemboweling the ship and reducing it to so much spare parts. The power source though, they manage to get that out and put it on technological life support so they can study it. The Saucer is then broken down into spare parts so that the scientists in charge of that project will have extra resrouces.Scar meanwhile, agrees with your stance on the psychic abilities and not disecting Adam and Lilith, after all humans have varying levels of intelligence and ability. Also, he likes being unique, the last thing he needs is competition for alpha Puma. Fin kind of wants to develop a rough riders unit. No good against tanks or other stuff but plenty good enough against tribals or other primitive societies. He asks for permission to begin training Worg rider volunteers and to develop a Worg taming program. You honestly can't imagine a worg who would disobey him and live through the act.
>>20492604Approve Fin's plan. We can use a long-range recon patrol unit that can also hit hard.Administer the Pure FEV treatments to the remaining HellPuma subjects!
>>20492604>Fin kind of wants to develop a rough riders unit. No good against tanks or other stuff but plenty good enough against tribals or other primitive societies. He asks for permission to begin training Worg rider volunteers and to develop a Worg taming program.Sure, why the hell not?also, are his implants and surgeries of his own design and development or did he just pick from stuff we already had?
>>20492604Can be a substitute for the wolf rider Project. Finn unit is a go. Also can you describe how a worg looks like.Let's keep making those intellipumas. How's things in the rest of the world?Have samson or the Colosseum making any moves?
You send your terrifying Scientist-turned-Puma-Man off into the depths of New Washington base to begin training a Worg Roughriders unit. He begins picking recruits for it, and upon word of what he's doing spreading to the tribal occupation force, Iron fist, Big teef, Yelow Club, and Red Sign braves turn up and literally beg to be allowed to become Worg riders. Not all of them meet Fin's stringent standards but enough do.You apply the Pure FEV strain to the Puma subjects. You begit Markans, Jhoseph, Abel, Kassandra, Ophelia and Eve. (the cubs were both boys.) Scar is quite pleased with this turn out and proclaims each of them a success. He's particularly pleased with Eve, and she seems to be pleased with him. He'd be more than happy to sell his, and his clan's skills to you as mercs, provided you agree to produce more IntelliPumas for his clan. You have the mining robots begin Tunneling fron NW to FE.
>>20492645Express our plans to be more than just mercenaries to Scar.
>>20492616>>20492626Fin mostly took stuff from on file, sensory improvements, muscles, but the claws are his.Samson has finally stopped hanging people, and the Colliseum has begun raiding the trade route for slaves.
>>20492653I thought with his mindmeld with fiin He wanted more to become part of the union. So formal invitation for him and his clan.
>>20492657Wait which trade route? OUR TRADE ROUTE?
>>20492626Take a wolf, okay good, now bump it up to the size of a horse, include tumors, warts, mange and other things that are caused by living your entire life in poison. The tumors, mange, and warts will be gone in a few generations so you'll just have giant wolves.
>>20492667And it all worked in the end.
>>20492657Alright. Tell Scar that the offer of citizenship is always open. He can be more than just a mercenary if he wants. As for the Colosseum raiding trade routes:OUR trade routes? Oh, they just fucked with the wrong people. Tell Fin that we've got the first targets for his Roughriders, and they'd better be ready soon. He's got slavers to hunt. Step up security along our trade routes. Train more tribal security patrols to counter the increased slaver activity.
>>20492662Last time I checked that was the only trade route.Scar find the notion of being a part of the union interesting, but he'll pass. Seeing as how you included collars with voice boxes and you've been uplifting Pumas right and left he sees no reason as to why you couldn't produce ones that wanted to be part of the Union. He's flattered, but he's old, ornery and all he wants to do is have some kids and settle down. Keep producing Intellapumas and some are bound to join though. It's an obvious manipulative arguement, but the law of averages favors his veiwpoint. The mor eintellipumas you produce the greater your chances of producing a loyal, american puma will be.
>>20492657Those claws are nice, we should add them into database and have Fin or other scientists iron them out.Actually, we should let Fin develop more genetic enchantments if he feels like it.What trade route is being raided?>>20492653Second.Making them full-blown american citizens would be awesome. With all the rights.Heck, they could even become president if they want to.Imagine how awesome would it be, whenever country-dick measurements begin and everyone argues which country is better our people could always go "Well. our president is a 8-ton tank-destroying HellPuma, your argument is invalid."
>>20492686>Keep producing Intellapumas and some are bound to join though.Just for that, I hope that Scar's settled down life ends up like this:http://youtu.be/2HON-PtMGuk
>>20492686Then it's an okay then with scar and a Point for science. Anyways i remember we had some soldiers trained last turn. Now let's get this new worg unit for action. Let them be the new guards of the trade route . Make talks with samson about the colosseum. Parade our new soldiers and howitzers in new boston.
>>20492702>http://youtu.be/2HON-PtMGukOh im pretty sure we'll get an event for that later.
>>20492702We've got to start printing a newspaper, just so that Scar can bury his snout in it when Eve is telling him to hurry up and get ready.
>>20492720Also our thread ain't showing up in the front page no more.
>>20492705No, let's not parade the new Howitzers just yet.I want the first that people know about them is when the shells start falling on the Colosseum.
>>20492721YES YES
>>20492724We've been in autosage for the past 90 posts. We're on page 4 now.
>>20492725Then just our proud new soldiers marching for america.
I do like the idea of an All-American IntelliPuma soldier.Does 1 HellPuma a month sound reasonable?
Okay the influx of tribals has granted you a minor bonus to your population. Your scientists manage to perfect the applied science of the Zero Point Energy device.Pity you don't have the resources to do anything with it. You still have the original alien unit though, and can put that in something.Finn manages to get his rough riders ready. His roughrider uniform is much like the typical enclave uniform. But with more cowboyness. His troops wear standard combat kit, ride on giant wolves, and tend to use energy weaponry and conventional firearms. You increase security on your end of the traderoute, but the Colliseum raiders just wait until travvelers get further along on the road and then they pounce. Short of dislodging them from the colliseum there's nothing you can do.Do you want to continue Uplifting Hellpumas?
>>20492742How about 4-5.
>>20492720PS3 OS is designed to turn all youtube links into youtube XL frontpage hits. Gimme that title so I can search it and then we'll see.
>>2049276726 How I Stopped Worrying and Learned To Love Third Impact 3/3
>>20492748Yes. Continue Uplifting HellPumas.Send Finn and his Roughriders to hunt down slaver bands.Send a diplomatic delegation to Salvation City to talk with Sampson. Something must be done about the Colosseum, and a joint operation would not only reduce individual risk, but also let each side see how much they trust the other.
>>204927521 per month is reasonable, do I have to give the spiel about the flammable forest?Funny I seem to recall there bing these intelligent rodents...
>>20492776RODENTS AND SQUIRRELS!. It'll be like sengoku jidai in there!Clan Eshin and the squrrelninjas fightin
>>20492776You mean the squirrels? Have they said anything yet?
Actually, yes. "Will send clan warriors for trade goods. Knives, fire stones, cloth, food." aside from that, nothing.
>>20492776How are squirrels doing anyway?
>>20492834Alright then. This is all basic stuff we can provide from New Boston.Ask the squirrels where they want us to drop off the stuff, and warriors can report to a bus stall we'll build outside the forest, where a HumVee will pick them up 3 days after we drop off the goods.Give them a nice big selection; these are prospective customers and citizens after all.
>>20492834Establish trade relations with squirrels!Their warriors would be pretty damn useful. They could be some crazy, sneaky, operators operating, specialists. What was Scar's response to "more than mercenaries" thing?
>>20492860He said: >>20492686>He's flattered, but he's old, ornery and all he wants to do is have some kids and settle down. Keep producing Intellapumas and some are bound to join though. He wants to retire and be a familypuma.
>>20492860yes we should look into human-squrrel military doctrines.
>>20492869Oh, I missed that. ThanksHey, could we have some kind of a student program for the squirrels? We could ask them to bring us few of their brightest and we would teach them things and what not. Would be great for our relations
>>20492883yes this
>>20492834How widespread are they? Could they potentially infiltrate the Colosseum for us? Other than that, what resources do we need to start producing advanced tech (among other things, ZPE)?Oh, and can you give us the specs for the alien generator? How compact is it, how much power, any limitations on it's deployment?
You drop off a large selection of goods that you usually off to your tribal clients, minus the guns and leave them in the prescribed spot with a combat MR. Handy to discourage wandering Murder hobos. Withing a day or so squirrels begin gathering at the drop off point. Soon enough you have 100 10-20 pound rodents waiting for pick up and drop off.The squirrels arive soon enough after that. Fiigure out a basic military doctrine for your squirrel forces.
>>20492897How permanent is the squirrel forces to us? I mean right now we have exclusive acess to them but the time will come when they come in contact with other civilizations. Let's just see how much they're capabilities are. Wargames anyone?
>>20492883We need to have any sociologists and psychologists we have begin to examine the emergence of Intellapuma society and Squirrel society, to see if they can be integrated into a human, ghoul, and mutant society.>>20492897Squirrel Military Doctrine:They act as forward artillery observers (using our miniaturized radio sets), scouts, and marking targets for airstrikes. They also do saboteur work, sneaking into enemy camps at night to cut the brake lines on their vehicles, setting explosives in their ammo dumps, and poisoning their food and water. So they're like Force Recon and Special Forces. Good for scouting and infiltration missions.
Among other things? "Exotic materials." which you'll only aquire via questing through ruins. The alien ZPE weighs 25 pounds and measures six feet in length when all its "organs" ar stretched out. Really the thing looks more like a set of entrails than complex piece of alien technology.Finn returns from the wastes with a bag full of heads and a love sick faith priestess in chains. He's trying to keep the woman, actually quite comely, as far away from him as possible. "I, uhm, raided a group of raiders. then this thing." he gestures at the dark haird woman dressed in blood splattered robes. "Got very clingy and declared me a "saint of murder." I don't know what do boss." You have a bag, well several bags of heads, with 75 heads in all, and a crazy lovesick faith priestess. WHAT DO?
>>20492916And so begin the adventures of Finn the scientist-turned-cyborg-hybrid-hunter.
>>20492916aquire pikesattack heads to pikesdisplay outside of NB, and along the trade routes
"You can keep the heads, Finn, just make sure they don't stink up the joint."As for your woman problems, I feel bad for you son. I got 99 problems but a love-sick woman ain't one."And shrug helplessly.
>>20492916We are so gonna commercialize and propaganda him into the population Right.Anyways lets go ask the woman more info about the colosseum. Get finn to help us.! Plans ,attack patterns , Ranks everything
At least this quest is keeping to the Fallout-style humor, right?
>>20492932*attachmean while sit down with sexymurderpriestess and ask what her deal is.
>>20492947yep indeed !!
You set some scientists to studying Squirrel and Intellapuma culture. You send the squirrels to boot camp, and die their fur red so they look like the more common varieties of mutant squirrel. You have some tribals take the heads and bring them out to the NB trade route, whereupon they're displayed to passing traders and more than likely, to Faith spies. You attempt to question the Faith priestess, that gets you nowhere. You order Fin into the room and have him ask her the questions instead. She answers those right away. The colliseum is run by pitboss Khul, a brutal piggish man who kills for profit. True followers of the faith kill for pleasure. Fin asks her why the raiders are attacking the traderoute for slaves. She says that that the colliseum needed slaves and that slave hunting was over in the other lands. Apparently there's map of settled areas and Faith Priests use the map to determine who is "in season" and who is "out of season." bribes are probably involved.
>>20492981Lets get her to do the maps so we can get a lay of the land. Get finn a new biotic arm or something. I think he deserves it for his "trouble"
>>20492981Can she tell us approximately how many slavers and Faithful there are in the Colosseum? Defenses, and how the guards for the slave pens are distributed? Make her work with a cartographer to come up with some maps of the Colosseum, where the important slaver defenses are located.Give Fin a pitying look. We can't exactly just kill her, that would be against our laws, so it comes down to her being Fin's problem.
>>20492981So how's the situation with our military. And samson.Do we have an espionage department yet? Im pretty sure we're gonna need one sooner or later. How's our military assets? Do we have new paladins and tanks? And the is the economy okay? Agriculture is not hitting a bad season. Social order is suppose to be good too right?
>>20493008Sorry guys but I have to sleep now.Don't worry status update next thread, if not....later today afternoon to evening wise then it'll be the day after tommorrow, morning to noon.I need to get a twitter account...

I think the only advice we can give to Fin is this:"Be careful when you stick it in the crazy, son."
