*shrug* nothing really, but the last thread i played in had it so i thought i might as well carry on the tradition.

and to clear things up climate is contained with in Shape land until second age for this game. and if you are doing multiple things to a land at one time such as a Lightning Peppermint forest, it still counts as one point up to a logical limit.

As someone who was in the thread where it got changed like, three years ago.

It was so that the first stage goes by faster because not a lot of interesting stuff beyond "HURRS MUH MOUTAINS" occurs.

If it's the changes I think, didn't even check.

How does it go by faster with shape land being cheaper? The only difference is now you don't have to make an actual choice between getting your civilization up and running in the first era while basing your stuff around the lands your associates build and ensuring you get the type of land you want. Which is kind of gay, because it reduces strategy for no real reason

But that was kind of the point. If you want to ensure you get the land you want, you dump points out. If you just want to get your civilization up asap so you have point advantage mid and late game, you save for a race

The only way it speeds things up is due to how players will probably just vote themselves our of the first era asap. Players now have amazingly disproportionate influence over the climate and shape of territory, meaning they'll just want to get out of it for cheaper civs, which completely defeats the threat of majority vote foiling your plans for the first era

Like, if everyone wants to get out of the first era because it's easy as hell to get what you want out of it (cheap and massive land influence), why would you ever *not* want to leave it as soon as possible? It just reduces strategy for the sake of saving 1-5 turns. It's just silly
