The endless expanse, littered by uncountable stars, is always so beautiful, and always so frightening.

But today, it is also heartbreaking.

The planet underneath you is now no more. The place where your Regiment, the 02nd Stella Platina Regiment 「Battlers」shed their last drops of sweat and tears, an endless wasteland of snow and frost...gone, just like that.

The Regiment you had just started serving under, the Regiment you had just befriended. Just like that, gone. You wish you at least had a chance to remember the faces of several more of the fallen. The fact you cannot properly grieve gnaws at your very being.

There is no time for grief, no time for respite, and neither was there time to hunt down that bastard Hayes and make him pay for the slaughter, for the Emperor himself had chosen you, not an Adeptus Astarters, or a Sororitas, or an Inquisitor...YOU, a lowly Guardsman, to carry out a mission of extreme importance.

Still, your mind cannot help but wonder how an Exterminatus could have been carried out so quickly and on a single Commissar's word. It didn't make sense.

And then there was this xenos witch...Macha, who claimed the Emperor himself sent her. A trick by one of the devious Eldar? Still, she too is a 「Stand User」...

The mysteries pile one on top of the other, and you yearn for answers.

And you silently vow you help the broken young girl, her body present but mind lost, to find answers as well, so that she may set her father's memory to rest. The good Colonel would not go unavenged. You feel you and Hayes' paths have not crossed for the last time.

Your 「Stand」, the 「Emperor's Mission」, and the 「Exterminatus Order」...

You cannot help but feel them all connected.

You will find the truth behind that connection.

You are Joachim Joestar, of the 「Last Battlers」.

Today, you have lost much.

But you still have friends, inner strength, and faith in the future.

Come what may, you will keep advancing.

Hey cool! Did we find out what our friends stands are?
>>

[STAND INFORMATION:

WEATHER GIRLS
User: Farseer Macha

Strength: D
Speed: D
Range: Infinite
Staying: D
Precision: A
Learning: B

"Weather Girls" is a Remote Stand consisting of two different female humanoids with no legs, Bronze (left) and Silver (right) who instead float in place. Weather Girls is a rather slow Stand, but in theory, it can be controlled by its owner from a limitless distance away.

SKILLS -

Vision and Hearing: As with most humanoid stands, what Weather Girls see is seen by Macha herself. However, it is more akin to changing a video camera feed directly in front of her eyes and ears rather than having six pair of eyes working simultaneously. The "feed" can be changed for a single eye or ear, though, sacrificing depth perception or echolocation in both sides for simultaneous playback.

It's Raining Men: Weather Girl's main ability. Anything that comes in contact with one of the two "girls" can be transported instantaneously to where the other "girl" is. This includes living organisms.

NOTE: Weather Girls cannot phase through objects. So for example, in order to enter a Fortress-Monastery, it would have to find a proper entry point and not just ghost themselves inside. However, as with most Stands, they cannot be seen, and in most cases, felt, by normal people.]

Brief backtrack: Hayes was gonna EXTERMINATUS the planet, right? I was kinda wondering how he managed to pull that one. I mean, I was under the impression that the EXTERMINATUS was a method of last resort. Hayes wouldn't be able to get an EXTERMINATUS for one regiment of traitor Guardsmen.

[Hey guys, sorry for the wait. Work has me really busy and whatnot, but I definitely want to find as much time as possible to JoJo your socks off. I wanted to make a "chapter cover", even if as rudimentary as the one for the first chapter, but I didn't have the time.

Regarding future threads...well, I threw together a really super shitty dinkypage link for you guys which contains the date for the next session, whether there's a session going on at the moment, the session link, links to the archive for the past threads, and a SOUL'd Out song in all of its weaboonese glory (still, I feel it fits the campaign lyrically. And I'm also biased due to those crazy awesome JoJo MADs.

Needless to say, this is also a good place for newcomers to the thread to jump into, as they can access the old threads and check out the quest's dice system. Note to self: make that into a dedicated section.

I'll probably refine the dinkypage into something decent sometime, but as I said, pretty short on time.

Well, without further ado, we'll be starting shortly. Please stand by.]

So here you were. Inside a Xenos transport ship. From the looks of the location you were currently in (and with that, you mean a rather cramped yet pristinely white hallway), the ship itself isn't too large, but not small enough to prove extremely uncomfortable.

Eldar design was definitely sleek and smooth, a sharp contrast with the Imperium's blocky, intimidating structures. To be quite honest, it reminded you just a bit of home in the sense that it looked "stylish", except Stella Platina made things a bit more colorful. This hallway felt sterile.

"Xen...Macha.", you start. "Where are you taking us?" You ask the alien woman, the radiant hue of her crimson-orange hair adding some much-needed color to the barren locale.

"Well, I can't have you in this ship if you don't know anybody here or where things are located, can I?" she responded matter-of-factly. "It's only natural I'd introduce you to the crew."

"Great. More pointy ears to look at.", Mercuria added sarcastically. Macha ignored her for the most part.

"This is not a large transport, so you should not have that much trouble navigating it."

You are right behind Macha, and right in front of Rahman, Mercuria, and a downcast Zola who won't take her eyes off the ground.

>>27653065 (Gentleman's Action)

You slow down your pace in order to approach the youngest member of your current group, until you are walking side by side with her.

"Zola, I...I'm sorry. If it wasn't for me..."

Words escape you.

Realization dawns upon you.

It was your fault that the Commander, and the rest of the Regiment, had died.

And to think the Commander would entrust the heritage of the esteemed Battlers regiment to someone like yourself.

You'd feel disgusted in yourself...

"Don't. Don't finish that sentence."

...if it wasn't for Zola herself.

"Hayes killed my father. You did not put lasgun to his head. It was him, plain and simple."

That's right. An evil man had done evil deeds. You could not bear the responsibility for his actions, even if they were caused tangentially by yourself.

You were to fulfill the Emperor's Mandate. For that, there could be no room for either hesitation or self-pity.

And, most importantly, you were a Joestar. Through your blood flows a noble intent. The Emperor would achieve that which he needs to do, and whatever that is, it is sure to be for the sake of the betterment of the Imperium.

"I always knew...he wouldn't come back home one day. I was lucky...since he was a Regimental Commander, he was often summoned back home...so unlike many others, I got to see my father fairly often. I wanted to follow in his footsteps, and I did. Even as his precious little daughter, whom he always said he wanted to protect from a life of strife and violence...as soon as I said I wanted to become part of the Imperial Guard, he accepted my will."

"Zola..."

"And yet...." you can see the light gleam of teardrops on her obscured face, "I always thought...it'd be against an enemy of the Imperium. Not a SERVANT of the Imperium itself!"

A few stiffled sobs, and an attempt to get the tears out of her eyes.

"That...pitiful excuse for a man, Hayes. The Emperor's justice will befall on his shoulders. The truth will be known."

"Still...Fa...ther....will...never....be back...."

Those words run like dagger through your chest.

"Thanks, Joachim. I'll....I'll manage. I am one of the Imperial Guard, after all. I...must make my father proud.

You notice her fiddling with her father's...no, her sunglasses.

You raise your gaze and look ahead, catching Farseer Macha, who was glancing at you. She quickly turns her head back forward.

However...

Even if it was just for a moment, you could register a human emotion. Empathy.

Even if it's a xenos...

Someone who makes a face like that for a total stranger...

...Cannot truly be a bad person, can they?

You notice that the bridge of this ship was surprisingly small, being manned by only five Eldar.

Just one of them seems to look back at you, shrug, and continue his work.

Yet, aside from the ones currently manning the controls, you notice a woman of relatively large stature standing a little under you.

Rather than being either intimidated, insulted, or appalled by your aggressive, domineering pose. she looks at you with sparkling eyes

You've heard the rumors of fearsome female Eldar warriors, unstoppable forces in melee combat who can also use their voices as sound weapons.

From the look of her getup, you'd imagine she's one of them.

From how she's gawking at you with big, round eyes...yeah, you've got nothin'.

"Waaaaah....I've seen this before...done by those who follow a subset of the Path of the Artisan known as the 'Path of Posing'. It's amazing to see a mon' keigh attempt something like that!"

In Stella Platina, those who have the talent and drive to become artists, artisans, and musicians are highly valued and respected. Creating beauty from essentially nothing is, after all, truly one of the most impressive ways to revere the Emperor.

And yet, the Eldar also have 'Artisans'. You never imagined that any of the xenos races could pursue beauty in such a noble manner.

"We are more alike than we may think," you start, "if your race has people in it that create splendid artworks! Truly, this is why the Emperor has brought us together! To solve our differences!"

Some of the navigators mutter things like "Foolish Mon'Keigh..." and whatnot. Rahman, who is standing behind you, ponders lowly. "It seems that the line between heresy and sacred duty will be blurred for us in our mission..."

On the other hand, the Banshee standing a bit below you has her eyes as wide as saucers, a toothy smile, and is absolutely beaming. Bringing her hands together, she does some little, silent claps.

"Bravo, Sir Joachim! You truly are an unique mon'keigh!"

You seem to have impressed her, at least.

"We should probably discuss this in detail, Lady Macha", you make emphasis on the 'Lady' part, "over a meal of some kind. No doubt my companions are starving for some nourishment."

"I dunno the rest of you, but I AM pretty hungry", interjects Mercuria.

"Of course. This way, please."

Macha leads you through some other hallways until finally you reach a small place that looks like some sort of cafeteria. The tables are the same pristine (although boring) white as the rest of the ship, as are the chairs.

Ask about the aesthetic choices and what they eat. We're going to be with them for a while, so it'd be better to get straight answers about this sort of stuff up front rather than rely on preconceptions or drawing our own conclusions.

Then we really need to get with the strategizing and the eating and the destiny.

"So this whole ship...pure white, I must say, Lady Macha. How come it is so barren of color?"

"Well, the whole ship is made out of Wraithbone, which you may not know, but is the main building material we Eldar use. As for the color choices...well, there were none. No reason to decorate a transport that was meant for military usage on the inside."

You nod your head as you take a seat on one of the Wraithbone chairs. "I see. And...regarding food..."

"All safe for Mon'Keigh consumption. You should be able to digest the vegetables and grains we use to elaborate our meals. We've already had a Mon'Keigh taste the dishes by this particular Cook before, so you should be entirely fine."

Most of the time people who get their stand from a stand arrow can use it at least decently right off the bat.

The only exception I can think of is Koichi, and the only reason he couldn't is because he wasn't supposed to get a stand in the first place, and only survived the stand arrow due to Josuke

"...I'm sorry", you say. "Let me tell you what the Emperor told us we needed to do. We have to get to Ultramar and find a 'wrongfully imprisioned' person there. The Emperor said they'd know what to do there."

Macha puffs her cheek. "As always, Golden Boy has a gift for being vague. It's not like Ultramar is made up of SEVERAL PLANETS or anything."

"This could be dangerous for everyone involved." adds Rahman. "Should they find an Eldar ship near the Ultima Segmentum...I'm afraid this small transport would meet its doom quite fast."

Macha stands up. "I'll tell the navigation crew to get ready for Webway travel. We'll stay the safest and most concealed distance possible from your objective...I'll use Weather Girls to get you down to the planet. What planet, though...that's a bridge we'll have to cross when we come to it. Trussardos will be with you shortly. Enjoy your meal."

"Are you guys all right?" you ask the rest of the Last Battlers. "How are you feeling?"

"Never would I have thought we'd start the day fighting Orks and end it with making an alliance with a Xeno witch!" responds Mercuria. "JoJo, wherever you go, something crazy is bound to happen, isn't it?"

"Indeed, this is an unforeseen situation. However, I must say Joachim, I could see the Farseer's stand a lot more clearly than when I saw yours for the first time."

"That's because this pendant I carry seems to 'grant' Stands to whomever cuts themselves with it, so long as they are compatible." you say.

Zola raises her gaze at you. "...Why can't I use it?"

Your expression softens. "Zola...the Emperor told me than if you come in contact with the Pendant, you'd be killed by it."

She turns her gaze downwards and nods. "If such is his will."

"So this means we're getting Stands of our own? I don't feel any different." Mercuria adds.

"I'm not quite too sure," you respond, "but I could not use my Stand immediately. Maybe everyone needs a different time to be able to use theirs?"

Mercuria crosses her arms behind her head, leans back and looks at the ceiling. "Just as long as it's there when I need it, I'm fine with it."

Did we accidentally manage to convert an Eldar to being an artisan path through the sheer fabulousness of our poses earlier? Also yes to the coffee. On the plus side we'll be cured of pretty much all our ailments. On the downside we will creep out the other party members while doing so. Also just couple of questions:
Is part of spacemarine initiation to stab them with an Arrow?
If an Eldar switches paths do their stands change as well to match their new path?
>>
>>27659963

Tonio takes your order and, before leaving, speaks.

"Something I was told once was that what people it is a 'reflection' of that which they consider 'beautiful'. Could it be perhaps, then, esteemed gourmand, that you find the 'black' of space beautiful?"

To tell the truth, he hit the spot...however, what you truly love about space is the stars.

"How did you encounter the Emperor?"

"Well," she starts, "I was drawn to a planet looking for information on a certain someone, and I found a tower similar to the one you were in a few hours ago. I got cut with something sharp, and I faint right then and there. Finally, when I wake up, Golden Boy's standing right there."

You nod. So apparently, they met when Macha obtained her Stand. "So...why do you call him Golden Boy?"

"...Have you SEEN his armor? I just gave him a nickname because he's not my Emperor, and he wouldn't give me another name to call him with. 'Emperor of Mankind' is too much of a mouthful, anyways."

Quick wonder about how Weather Girls works. Their speed is D...which means that sending them long distances will be a hassle. Do they have the ability to warp to each other, or back to Macha, at will?

Also will macha be able to communicate with the party through her Weather Girls?
>>
>>27660688
Your second question was already explicitly answered.
>>
>>27660696
Ah, missed that. First question still remains.
>>
>>27660688
Actually, speed usually refers to combat speed, pretty much all Stand users are able to see through their stands, with the exception of Polnareff (He trades ESP for armour), and Automatic Stands. Some non-humanoid Stands would also probably be in here, like Metallica, otherwise Risotto would just be seeing a view of his bloodstream non-stop.

If anything the vision this is probably instantaious.
>>
>>27660731
Wait, nevermind, I misread your question, I thought you meant to ask how fast they sent messages. Yeah it'd probably take awhile, but since they're invincible, they can just stow away on imprerial vehicles without anyone being the wiser.
>>
>>27660706

[The Weather Girls can teleport wherever the other 'girl' is located. However, due to the nature of the Stand, they would not be able to go back to where they just teleported from if not manually traveling.

Weather Girls is useful for recon and instantaneous transportation from point A to B anywhere in the Universe, but its main weakness is its slow speed, which means getting one of them to point 'B' in the first place will take some time.

On the other hand, "Speech" and "Vision" through Weather Girls is real-time. No delays due to distance.]
>>
>>27660751

After much consideration (and a quick breather to do an assignment) it might be better for Macha to keep Weather Girls around and abuse their teleporting powers for positioning and escape to support her own (considerable) powers as a Farseer. Guys I just realized something: Tazeem the infinite (that is the time traveling 'cron lord right?) is obviously the big bad. He doesn't actually achieve time travel through tech he simply has a stand that allows it. And since that would give him a time manipulating stand that obviously proves that he is the big bad.

Your sleeping quarters were surprisingly normal.

You were expecting room to look...well, alien, but it was just like what you'd expect to find in an Imperial room: two bunk beds, a small nightstand, a desk with a chair, and even a bathroom with a shower cubicle attached. You'd be sharing one bunk with Rahman for the remainder of the trip while Zola and Mercuria bunked together. Fair enough.

You remove your helmet and unlatch your flak jacket, leaving them on top of the topmost bunk. Unzipping your Imperial Uniform, you also remove your belt, stripping it of grenades, and putting it together in a chest with the rest of the weaponry your friends carried.

Once that was done, you were definitely a lot more comfortable. Of course, you wouldn't just leave your scarf and pendant, so you kept those. This ship was chilly enough so that the scarf did not get too hot, anyways.

You are the last to leave the room Farseer Macha has given you. You now have a pretty good idea of how to get around the ship without getting lost. What do you do?

You decide to ask around for Lady Criehr. Most of the crew is not exactly happy to see you, and some downright ignore you.

Until you find yourself again in the Cafeteria. Trussardos is there, sipping on a cup of what appears to be a cup of Recaf.

"Ah, Gourmand! Are you looking for someone?"

"I made a promise to meet up with Lady Criehr. I was wondering if you'd know where she is?"

"Indeed! She is at the inner deck. She sometimes goes to draw there."

"Perfect. I was looking for her because of that same reason."

Trussardos nods in acknowledgement, and goes back to drinking his beverage.

You head towards the Inner Deck. In the way, you pass Macha, and both of you curtly nod in greeting. You walk a few steps forward, and feels eyes on your back. You turn back, and see Macha is still there, frozen in place, looking at you. From this distance, you cannot make out her expression.

What do you do?

Well, no time like the present. A gentleman always keeps his promise, after all. And for now, you've promised to pose for the Artisan.

As soon as you arrive at the inner deck, you see her sitting on the floor, her back against a nearby wall. She wore a long flowing dress that was decorated with Eldar sigils and jewelry.

"Oh, of course, you wouldn't know. It wasn't too long ago, actually, but under Farseer Macha's sister, Farseer Taldeer, I served in a planet called Lorn V. We fought alongside the Imperial Guard for a little bit, but...well, it completely changed my worldview. And he, well, he's basically the reason I left the Path of the Warrior to pursue the Path of the Artisan. But that's a story for another day, JoJo."

She gives you a warm smile as she raises her pad and the inmaculately white pencil.

"Did you know? These pages and this pencil are made of Wraithbone as well. Wraithbone is so versatile..."

Before you know it, Criehr is sketching furiously on her notepad. The minutes drag on, but quickly enough, she has a drawing of you done, and shows it to you.

It is quite masterful. You would probably frame it if you could.

"You should get some rest, JoJo. You have a lot of work ahead of you, don't you?"

You nod. Bidding each other farewell, you head towards your room. In this strange, alien ship, with an ever stranger and more alien crew, you finally close your eyes after the longest day of your life.

Developing a Stand.
A mission for the Emperor.
The death of your Regiment.
An alliance with the Xeno.
...Befriending the Xeno.
