You are Gertrude Pool, Sophomore Class President and new commander of Lafayette Girls Academy’s revived Tankery Team.

You rouse yourself to Saturday, Homecoming to be precise. Of course, the actual event itself won’t be until later in the afternoon. However, you’ve prepared yourself, dress, dance, and friends to go with, it’s all taken care of. You toss off the covers and head for the shower. You wash yourself extra well today, got to be nice and clean. People expect much not just from a Council President, but also from a Tankery Commander.

You figure there’s some time before Homecoming actually starts however, so you might work on a few things perhaps. You shut off the shower and get yourself dressed into your uniform. You also start on your breakfast. Anything you want to do this morning?

You break out My Tank is Fight and start reading it over a bowl of cereal. As you eat, you start going past the stuff actually involving tanks and more into the wacky side projects of nearly all the factions involved. You’re especially keen into the Christie Flying tank, apparently one of a few projects undertaken to make a tank fly into battle using a detachable wing mount of some kind.

You chuckle a little, still funny stuff.

> “My Tank is Fight!” Progress: 30%

You bookmark your progress then put the book down once you finish your breakfast. You stand up and stretch, groaning a bit but letting the blood start flowing a little more evenly. You’re now fresh awake. Suddenly, your cell phone rings.

“Captain Dubois, need something?”

“Just letting you know my services are going to expire around October-ish, no exact date for it yet.”

“Ah, that’s a shame. Really like having you around as our instructor.”

“I know!”

You roll your eyes. “So, Captain, just saying your goodbyes in advance?”

“A bit, yes, and to offer my personal services.”

“Pardon?”

“I can give you any personal instruction in Tankery and such if you have the time and want it. I can’t do it today though, gotta get some paperwork done, but when you have the time, I should be available.”

You nod. “Yeah, totally, uh… maybe next week or something? Before we have to go out for the Tank Meet?”

“Sure, call me later to set up an appointment. Anyway, gotta go. Stay safe.”

> Note: Instructors can now give you personal instruction. Completing a session with an instructor will net you 5 CP, along with some additional benefits depending on the Instructor used.

You burst through Kitten’s door like an Australian through an Apple Store. “Kitten! It’s your favorite time of the day! ME!” You stop your theatrics to find Kitten sound asleep at her desk, headphones on, and War Thunder idling on her monitor. You giggle a little as you walk up to her and then flick her on the forehead.

“Ow!” She recoils, grabbing her forehead. She realizes you’ve entered her dorm finally. “Oh, Trudy. You kick my door down again?”

You shake your head. “Nah, I finally figured out that I can just use the Master Key. Which means in theory I can just sneak up on you while you sleep.” She rolls her eyes as she takes off headphones, then stretches. You ask, “So, did you get any kind of sleep last night?”

She shrugs. “A bit. Then I woke up and decided to play some War Thunder and uh…” She gestures to you. “Look where we are now.”

You sigh. “You need to get out more. Today’s Homecoming you know?” You check the time. 10 O’Clock. Not time enough for lunch, but…

“Want to get some dance practice in, Kitten?”

Kitten shrugs. “Eh, sure.” She stands up, raising her arms in the air and gritting her teeth as she stretches out. You poke her in the stomach, causing her to recoil inwards. She glares at you as you chuckle and grab her hands. “Let’s just do this.”

“Okay,” You step to the left. “One step one. Two step two…”

You begin performing the motions as needed. Even though you’ve had all of three times including this time to practice, you’ve gotten at least the basic motions down. You can quite proudly say that you’re dancing.

“Trudy, question.”

“What’s that?”

“What if the music is a bit faster than this?”

You shrug. “Improvise. What’s the worse that could happen?”

She rolls her eyes. “Improvise,” she repeats mockingly. “And what happens if some guy comes up to you and asks you to dance, what are you gonna do then?”

“Improvise.”

“Sorry.” You inch a little closer to her face. “I got lost in your eyes, Kitten.”

“Haha. You’re going to lose more than your sense of direction if you don’t pay attention.”

With that, you two continue on with dance practice. With the clock striking 11:30, you two collapse on Kitten’s bed, tired but not defeated. You at least now how to ballroom dance… to some extent.

“Where do you think, Kitten?”

“I dunno. Chipotle?”

You shrug. “Chipotle it is.”

With that, the two of you leave Kitten’s dorm and head for the nearest Chipotle. Fast casual with a bit of Mexican grille, what could be better? You and Kitten discuss a few things over Homecoming first.

“You gotta wear some make up.”

“No.”

“Do up your hair in say a braid or a ponytail or something.”

“No.”

“Just act casual with people, talk about the weather or stuff like that. If they’re interested in your interests, great! Talk about that!”

“No.”

“… breathe.”

“No.”

“You’re not listening to me are you?”

Kitten continues playing on her DS, and then she says, “No.” You roll your eyes as you enter the Chipotle and hit the line. You can see a few tables are full, but you also see-

“Gertrude!” Octavia waves you over, smiling. Wendy is sitting next to you looking like she really wants to be somewhere else. Octavia nudges her, “Say hello.” Wendy simply grunts to you. Octavia rolls her eyes then looks over at you. “Wanna have lunch with us?”

The two of you sit down across from Wendy and Octavia, chicken burrito bowls ready to be consumed. You nod to Octavia and Wendy as you start chowing down. Octavia asks you, “So what’s been going on?”

You quickly swallow up some chicken then say, “All kinds. But, me and Kitten are more focused on Homecoming at the moment. Are you two going?”

Octavia nods. “Me and Wendy are heading out there as friends. Figure we might have ourselves some fun.” She looks over at Wendy, accusingly. “Right, Wendy?”

Wendy shrugs, indifferent. “Eh, it’s a nice change of pace from Naval Studies I suppose.”

You ask, “What’s Naval Studies like anyway?”

“Eight-hour shifts, classes, some of which are lecture but most of which are online, getting yelled at for getting something wrong,” Wendy snaps her fingers. “I’m sure someone like you would find it easy. I mean, tuition is free as long as you have some form of job.”

You nod, looking over at Kitten, who’s busy sucking on her soda. “So, Kitten. Considered getting a job?”

Kitten chuckles. “Ah, funny joke, Trudy.”

“Well,” you say, “My secretary Ramirez actually has her boyfriend. He’s like a couple of years older than her though.”

“I heard,” Octavia says, “Strangest thing. Of all people.”

“I know!” You sigh. “So when’s Homecoming supposed to start anyway?”

Wendy says, “Around 5, it’ll be at one of Heinlein’s Assembly Halls.”

“They have more than one?”

Wendy nods, a bit condescendingly. “It’s 17 Kilometers, I think they can fit a few more.”

Octavia asks you, “You guys got dates though?”

You shake your head. “Not technically. Me and Kitten are gonna be going with a friend that goes to Heinlein.” You lean a bit closer. “Not to brag or anything but he’s an absolute dream. I would become a statistic if it meant bedding him.”

Octavia nods. “Right.” She looks at her watch. “Ooh, look at the time.” She stands up along with Wendy. “We gotta get ready.”

You nod. “Alright, see you girls.”

They both say, “Goodbye.”

Kitten sighs, defeated. “10-ish.”

“10-ish.” You continue, “Now, I don’t have much in the way of make up but I do have stuff like lipstick and maybe some concealer, might be a bit of an issue with that though.”

Kitten crosses her arms, pouting. “I never see YOU wear make up.”

You say, “That’s because I think make up is for scrubs who can’t bother to wash their faces in the morning with soap. Anyway-” You’re interrupted by the sound of scraping metal and track clattering. You look out the window and see Nancy, turned out of the hatch on the Sherman.

You and Kitten rush out and hop on, also spotting Lisa and Ramirez in their respective spots in the tank. You say, “Nancy, what’s the rush? We got a couple of hours before Homecoming starts.”

The Sherman starts up and down towards the Sophomore dorm. “Yes I know! But one can never be too prepared for Homecoming! A single night where can just be girls for once, and not have to worry about education or tanks or anything like that. Just go and have fun like we should be doing!”

You nod, “Fair enough.” The Sherman brakes hard when it reaches outside the dorm. Everyone quickly dismounts. “Right, everyone to my dorm,” She takes out her Sophomore Dorm Master Key and hands it to Ramirez. “Ramirez, please go get everyone’s dresses, would you kindly?”

Ramirez quickly runs off, and thus you all head for Nancy’s dorm. Nancy immediately pulls you all in. “Right, right. Sit down on the bed. I’ll be with you in a just minute!” says Nancy as she quickly grabs her dress from the closet and heads to the bathroom.

Lisa says, “Enthusiastic as always.” She pulls out her smartphone and starts goofing off.

Actually, the QF bundle is really damn nice for us.

We can upgrade 3 tanks with it right now, the Churchill, the Sentinel and the Sherman to a Firefly.

“I think we all look great! We’ll be the life of the party definitely.”

“And if we’re not?” asks Ramirez.

“Then the party dies. That’s how it works,” you say. You frown, looking over Ramirez. “Still, you’re just gonna go in your uniform, Ramirez? No dress or anything?”

Ramirez shakes her head. “Nope.”

You roll your eyes, then look over at Nancy. She hands you the hairbrush, which you take, then start going at Kitten’s hair. “Anyway! We’re going to be great at Homecoming, we’ll dance, we’ll sing, we’ll chat, if anything it’ll be fun at least!”

Kitten grits her teeth as you run the brush through her hair. “Can you hurry this up? I feel like you’re about to rip my hair out.”

“Gotta be thorough.”

Lisa nods. “Anyway, I’ll go warm up the Sherman.” She quickly leaves with that, leaving you with Nancy, Ramirez, and Kitten.

You look down at Kitten’s hair. “So, Kitten, what kind of hair do you want?”

“I want whatever gets me out of this faster.”

“Fine, let’s leave it down then.” You swish some of Kitten’s hair.

“Great,” she says as she stands and crosses her arms. “Let’s get this over with at least.”

You pout. “Oh, Kitten. I thought you were excited for Homecoming!”

“I was until I realized I’d actually have to dance with other people.”

Nancy says, “Oh it’s not so bad, Kitten. It doesn’t matter how badly you dance, it matters how badly the guy dances. Dancing as you know is actually an instinctual way for us women to tell if a man is a good breed or man.”

You raise your eyebrows. “Aren’t you a Mormon? That’s a real evolutionary kind of thing, Nancy.”

“That doesn’t mean I can’t learn new things, President!”

Kitten says, “Can we just go?”

“Sure, sure,” you say as you rustle Kitten’s hair. “Come on, girls. Let’s saddle up.”

The four of you leave and head out for the now ready Sherman. All of you take your positions inside the tank, and as soon as you say “go”, the Sherman gets moving.

“I hope no grease gets on my dress,” says Lisa. “Nancy, are you really sure we should be using a tank as transportation?” she asks.

Nancy nods. “Of course!” She looks over at you. “We’re the Tankery Program leaders after all, we wouldn’t be caught dead without our tank. Right, President?”

You nod. “Yeah, Nancy. Nothing says Tankery like tanks you know?”

“Excellent!” Nancy bounces in the Gunner’s seat, giddy with excitement. You look over at everyone else, Kitten is somehow fast asleep, Ramirez is indifferent, and Lisa is simply rolling her eyes at Nancy. You sigh as you relax.

The Sherman arrives at the loading platform, is let through, then the loading process begins. You’re not the only on the platform, you can see cars with other students inside, making last minute adjustments to their hair, clothes, and other necessities for Homecoming. You look down at yourself, you can’t actually remember the last time you were in a dress.

Once the loading process is done, you’re directed to the next loading tower, the one connecting Robert A. Heinlein Military Academy to the Casablanca Marina. Once aboard, you’re swiftly lifted up to the gigantic Academyship. The Sherman rolls out onto the deck as soon as its able and soon you’re past the grey metal walls and topside of Robert Heinlein.

As expected of a Military Academy, everything is in orderly fashion. Buildings are plain and undecorative. You even pass by the Academy campus itself. Soon, you’re stopped at a red light, so you decide to turn out and get a better look.

“Hey, Gertrude!” You look to your right and see Ace, turned out of her Chaffee. “I see you got the same idea I did! What’s up?”

You grin. “I’m just dandy, Ace! I see your Chaffee’s doing as well as ever!”

Ace pats the turret top. “Sure is. 75 millimeters may not be much, especially against late war stuff, but hell I love this thing. I declare, you look mighty nice in that dress of yours!”

You nod. “Thanks!” You look down at her. “Going in your Tankery Uniform?”

She shrugs, chuckling. “Ain’t nothing else to wear, ‘sides it tells people I mean business. You know?” Her Tankery Uniform consists of a grey jacket similar in make to the US Army M-1943 uniform with a black miniskirt and golden lapel pin of an M4 Sherman, indicating her Captain of the Tankery Team.

The light turns green, and with that, Ace says, “Whoop, let’s save this for when we get to Assembly Hall, okay?”

You nod, then button up.

Your two tanks head down the roads, with Ace’s always moving ahead of yours. You’d think of doing an impromptu drag race but that’s probably illegal and someone would most likely die. That’s not gonna be fun to explain.

Eventually, you arrive outside the huge but somewhat humble looking Assembly hall. Your tanks park up in the parking lot and everyone dismounts.

“Alright, girls, let’s do this.” You rub your hands together and lead the crews onto the Assembly Hall. You and Ace walk next to each other, your respective crews behind the both of you as you start heading up the stairs to see…

“Gertrude, Kitten!” Eugene and a few other guys head down the stairs. Eugene immediately takes you and Kitten up into a hug that sweeps you both off your feet, literally in fact.

“WHOA! EUGENE!” Kitten looks down. “You got stronger!”

He puts the both of you down, laughing. “Well, you don’t get into a Military Academy by being skinny.” He gestures over to the other guys. “Nancy, Lisa. Harold and Vernon.” He gestures to Nancy and Lisa. “Harold and Vernon. Nancy and Lisa.” The girls and the guys greet each other politely.

Ace slinks up next to Eugene, starry eyed. “So… Eugene. Shall we go?”

Eugene nods. “Yeah, let’s do this. How about we have some dinner first though, I’m starved.”

All of you head into the Assembly Hall, and immediately you feel like you’ve stepped right into the 40s. Jazz music, red carpets, waiters with white jackets, all of that stuff. Eugene directs you all up to the second floor which overlooks the main assembly hall. Today’s meals are all kinds of things, steak, chicken, turkey, salads, fruits and veggies.

Jesus Christ stomach stop it, you’ll get it.

Vernon bluntly says, “You’re about to cut from the Football team if you can’t sort out your disciplinary issues, Harold.”

“Vernon, not while I’m schmoozing, please.” Harold chuckles as he picks up his dinner. “Anyway, I must say you two look very nice tonight, Nancy you especially.” Nancy giggles, covering up her red cheeks. You snicker.

“Yeah, yeah. Thank you, Harold,” you say.

Harold smirks. “Hey, I can’t help it. I call lovely ladies as I see them.”

Eugene slaps Harold on back. “Harold here is a known lady killer and heartbreaker. Any drama here on Heinlein, you can be sure that Harold has something to do with it.”

Vernon nods. “They make the best chicken stir fry I’ve ever had. Even better than how mom makes it.”

Ace nods. “Indeed, I just really love how them people make this food. It’s damn good.” She looks over at Kitten. “So, Kitten right?”

Kitten nods. “Yeah.”

Ace asks, “You know, you’re a real quiet one. You are Gertrude are pretty close, how’d y’all meet?”

You say, “I stole Kitten’s lunch money in elementary school.”

Kitten laughs. “The teacher caught you and then you just started screaming that you didn’t do it, even while you still had my money in your hand!”

The both of you crack up into uproarious laughter, contagious enough that everyone else starts laughing as well. Nancy says, “That’s quite the way to meet someone!”

You say, “Well, we wouldn’t actually become friends until a little while later. Until like Fifth grade?”

Kitten says, “Fifth grade.”

“Eugene!” All of you look over to see what has to be the most interesting person you’ve ever seen ever. He’s clad in a very sharp dress uniform, standard for all Robert Heinlein students. He’s flanked by Dizzy as well. “Eugene, Harold, good to see you two!”

“Murphy, great to see you.” Eugene and Murphy shake hands, smiling at each. Eugene looks over at you. “Gertrude, this here is Audie Murphy. First in our class. Murphy, this is Gertrude.”

Murphy moves over to you, taking your hand and kissing it. No stop it don’t blush what are you doing- “Charmed,” he says.

You nod. “Yep. This is actually the first time me and my friend Kitten have been to Homecoming.” You lean back and let Murphy introduce himself to Kitten. Kitten turns red immediately, unable to produce coherent sentences.

Nancy says, “We’re all actually part of the Tankery Program. Gertrude’s the commander of it.”

Murphy looks surprised. “Really?” He looks to Ace. “Ace, why didn’t you tell me? I hear she almost beat you in that match you had with her last Saturday.”

Ace shrugs. “Oh, you know. Gertrude’s got a lotta potential, you know? You and Dizzy here together?”

Anyone else laughing because the real Audie Murphy was friggin' TINY (to the point where he was almost too small to play himself in the movie of his biography)?

Also, some suggestions for North European Schools, if Schteel needs more (admittedly, I doubt Tankery is as big up there, due to terrain and population). That said, DON'T follow the finns into a forest, you won't be getting out active. Anyway:

Telemarken Girl's School (Norway)
Lagus Sturmi-koulu (aforesaid finns, loves the StuG III) (Ruben Lagus was the commander of the finnish StuG/Sturmis)
Karolinerskolan (swedish, pulling on older conquests since they were neutral in any wars with tanks).
Viking school (has to be, might be either Norway, Denmark or Sweden, or possibly a collaboration)

Lisa asks, “So, you’re first in your class, Murphy?”

Murphy laughs. “Oh, it’s nothing. Really.”

“Actually,” says Vernon. “He’s first in the entire School. Captain of the Football Team, Class President, and one of the top students in the JROTC Program, along with possessing the best grades there are. Always passes his physical exams, never gets in trouble, he’s practically a spitting image of Hercules or some shit.”

You can imagine.

“Now, Vernon. Really,” Murphy appears to blush a little at that. “It’s nothing. I just do my work, and get it done on time. It’s that easy.”

Harold says, “Not for all of us. You ever imagine some of us have trouble in school?”

“Well, hey. I’d be happy to tutor you, Harold.”

Harold gestures to Murphy. “See!? This kind of shit. He’s too perfect!”

Lisa laughs. “Oh, you say that as if getting good grades is hard.”

Murphy snaps his finger. “Exactly. I mean, seriously, if you need help, just call me.” He stands up. “Anyway, I feel a bit restless.” He looks down to you and offers his hand, “Gertrude, would you like to dance?”

That's not the issue. The issue is the cast list is getting ludicrously huge already and we've met 1 (one (1)) other academy ship so far. At this rate we're gonna have hundreds of one-dimensional sods to keep track of and courtesy call (gotta space them out across the week because otherwise you'd literally have a full session of just 'call X', 'call Y' etc every day) for no gain. I'd vastly prefer it if the characters we actually met with regularity, i.e. are on our ship, got more development instead. You take his hands and start moving gently to the song. It’s not a fast song thankfully so you’re given some room for error. Murphy however leads you with incredible gusto, every mistake you make is instantly covered up by Murphy’s clever maneuvering around it, and you can’t help but blush a little every time he looks down at you.

“So, Gertrude. Tankery Team Commander, huh?”

You shrug. “Class President too.”

Murphy nods. “Well, yeah. But we’re more concerned with having fun than winning. I suppose you have to find a happy medium, you know?”

“Yeah.” Happy medium your ass. You NEED to win that. No questions asked. You look up at Murphy, frowning. He looks down at you, confused.

“Something wrong?”

“Oh, uh…. Just-“ Yeah, bad idea. Let’s not tell him that your school is getting shut down if you don’t win this Tournament. You wipe away the sadness and replace it with happiness. “Let’s just dance, okay?”

> Go Dancing with Someone (Kitten)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CI-0E_jses

You pat Kitten on the shoulder. “Come on, Kitten, let’s dance.”

With that, the two of you head to the dance floor. You lead on as the band plays another nice jazzy tune.

“So, how was Murphy?”

You shrug. “Oh, he was okay.”

Kitten raises an eyebrow. “Really? Okay?”

You sigh. “Okay, he was pretty cool. But still, come on. We ain’t got time for relationships. Our ships head out of Casablanca tomorrow.”

Kitten grins. “I didn’t say anything about a relationship.”

“…” You puff your cheeks, looking away and blushing. “Whatever.” You look back at her. “Are you at least enjoying yourself, Kitten?”

She nods. “Yeah, the boys are surprisingly really nice, compared to the ones in Middle School at least. And I’m here with you. That’s fun enough.”

You smile. “I’m glad.” You accidentally bump into someone, and you’re about to apologize when you find out who it is. “O’Hara, O’Brian, good to see you two.”

They smile at you. “Pool, good to see you,” says O’Hara. “You and Kitten here alone?”

“Nah, we got friends upstairs. You and O’Brian…?”

O’Brian says, “Yes.” She looks over at O’Hara, “And I think she looks lovely this evening.”

O’Hara rolls her eyes. “Don’t make me blush you fecking cunt, let’s just dance.”

With that, both parties separate.

You and Kitten keep on dancing, enjoying yourself to the music. It’s slow enough that you won’t make too many mistakes, especially since you’ve only practiced three times. But you did well enough with Murphy, you can do well enough here.

“Jeez,” says Kitten. “You look focused.”

“I’m not trying to tread on your toes.”

Really good thing you’re not wearing high heels.

Suddenly, you bump into Ramirez. You’re about to apologize but you’re stopped when you see him. “Oh, Ramirez, is this your boyfriend.”

The man towers over you and Ramirez, but his smile could warm the heart of the Devil himself. “Ah, Chrysanthemum,” he speaks in Spanish to Ramirez, apparently asking her a question. To which Ramirez responds in Spanish as well.

She turns to you. “Pres, this is my boyfriend, Diego Gutierrez.” He offers you your hand, which you shake.

“Charmed,” you say. “You know Ramirez long?”

He nods. “Of course,” he says in a thick Spanish accent. “I know Chrysanthemum since she was Freshman on Lafayette. The day she first walked in, oooh boy.”

Ramirez playfully slaps him on the chest, speaking to him in more Spanish, to which he mockingly responds back.

Suddenly, the drums start picking up.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2S1I_ien6A

People start cheering and start stomping their feet to the music. All of the boys and girls start crowding around to the dance floor. Murphy approaches you as well, “Gertrude, want to dance again?”

You feel like dancing with him again, but then again, that would leave Kitten the odd one out.

You look over at Kitten. “Uh, Kitten, you want to dance with Murphy?”

Kitten looks over at you, then at Murphy, then back at you with increasingly anxiety. “Uh, I-… Uh… Sure.” Murphy blinks at you, surprised, but then he simply offers his hand to Kitten, smiling. She shyly takes it and then they proceed to the dance floor.

You step away from the Dance floor and watch as everyone and their dates start dancing wildly to the music. You especially keep your eye on Murphy and Kitten, and you chuckle a little as Murphy patiently corrects all of Kitten’s mistakes. Kitten however simply laughs them all off. She’s having fun, that’s what matters, right?

Ah, what’s this, your heart’s sinking a little.

No matter. You head back upstairs and sink into your seat, sighing. You hear a chair adjust near you, and soon you see Junior Class President Betty sitting next to you.

“Gertrude. What’s up?”

“Having the time of my life, Betty!” You lean in close to her. “No need to brag, but I think I caught the attention of one of their best students.”

Betty giggles. “Oh, that’s scandalous! Admittedly I’ve drawn a few eyes myself.”

“Yeah,” you look briefly look down at her short skirt and her amazing legs. “I’d imagine. But anyway, what’s up with you, Betty?”

Betty says, “Oh, lots. Having to manage Senior stuff since Fredendall’s been suspended, this is actually the first time in weeks I’ve had any real rest.”

“Ah, I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be. But hey, listen. I said I’d help you with the Tankery stuff, right?”

You nod. “Right.”

“So, here’s the deal. I scraped together some funding, and I can give you 20,000 dollars under the table.”

You blink. “Really? Where’s that coming from?”

“Our class funds. You know, prom, parade floats, all that stuff.”

You cross your arms, frowning. “Oh, jeez Betty. I don’t think I can accept that.”

Betty says, “It’ll be pointless otherwise if you don’t win anyway. So how about it?”

Everyone in your little group heads to the table. Kitten runs over and sits next to you, “Trudy! How come you didn’t join us in the dancing?”

You wave her off, smiling. “Oh, was a bit tired from the dancing I did with Murphy and you. Figured I’d take a break.”

Murphy sits down as well. “Well, that’s a shame. It was some real fun you missed out on out.”

Lisa says as she looks over at Harold, who’s nursing a bruised cheek, “Real funny move Harold here tried to pull on me on the dance floor too.”

Harold says, “Hey, like I said. It was an accident!”

“Didn’t look like an accident to me,” says Vernon.

Lisa rolls her eyes. “Mistake my ass.”

You chuckle. “Was it really a mistake?”

Harold puts his hand on his heart. “Hand on heart, a mistake. I don’t touch women until after the first dates.”

Murphy shrugs. “I’m inclined to believe him. Though, Harold, maybe you should settling for one woman and not everyone at the same time.”

“Hey,” Harold smiles. “A good man socializes, I just happen to socialize with a lot of women. But I take your point, Murphy. If I find the right girl, you’ll be the best man for sure.”

Murphy chortles. “Oh, just send me a card or something.”

> Go Dancing with Someone (Kitten, Eugene, Murphy)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xaYqUvaTfQ

“Kitten, Eugene, Murphy, want to get the last dance in?”

They all nod. “Sure.”

All of you head down to the dance floor, then get to dancing to the slow music being sung by a woman with a most beautiful voice. You dance with Eugene first, and he flows with you along to the music. “You have a nice night, Gertrude?”

You nod. “Of course, Eugene. Gotta say, it’s really been something. You have fun with Ace?”

He nods, smiling. “Definitely! She’s really nice, not what I expected from a Tankery girl, but hell I suppose there’s all kinds of surprises in life.”

“Yeah.” You giggle a little. “Eugene, I think you’ve really grown up a lot. You really deserve someone like Ace.”

“Oh, don’t talk like that, Gertrude. If anything, you deserve someone like Murphy.”

The both of you laugh quietly. Murphy taps Eugene’s shoulder, “Mind if I cut in?” Eugene politely nods then switches over to Kitten. Murphy then takes your hands and the two of you resume dancing to the music. “So, Gertrude. I gotta say, good luck in the tournament.”

You nod. “Thanks. Means a lot, Murphy.”

He nods back. “Oh, don’t think much of it.” He smiles at you, and you blush a little. “Just try and win alright?”

You nod. “I will.”

Murphy’s face turns a bit serious for a moment. “Say, Gertrude. Is there something wrong?”

You look confusedly at him. “Oh? What makes you say that?”

“Well,” he says, “I ask because you seem a bit worried, over the whole tournament thing. I mean, I imagine it’s great stress, but… there’s something else on you, isn’t there?”

You glance away, frowning. “Uh, well.” Your tongue gets tangled up a bit. “Would you- I mean. Look there’s nothing really ‘on my shoulders’ so to speak.”

Murphy nods. “I see.”

“You do?”

Murphy shrugs. “Hey, I’m a Class President, you’re a Class President. I’m Captain of the Football team, you’re Captain of the Tankery Team. You probably don’t realize this but when people have a lot in common we start reading each other like books.”

“… so?”

“I’m saying,” he says, “There’s something troubling you. If you don’t want to share that’s fine, but, I’m curious. Forgive me if I offend you. I’d just like to know, and maybe I could help you.”

Kinda forward, maybe, but shit like this is pretty obvious.
>>

We've known him for a couple of hours. Our total interactions are two (well, one and a half) dances and some chatting at the table. I'd be freaked out if I was Trude.

“Look, I’m not really at liberty to say, alright?” Murphy frowns at that, but you continue. “Just… let’s just say that Tankery is really important. I have to win this Tournament.”

Murphy nods. “I see. I understand, Gertrude.”

You smile, a little brokenly. “Thank you, Murphy.”

“I’ll try and see if I can help you, okay?” He reaches into his pocket and pulls out his phone, then taps it against yours. “There’s my number. Call me if you ever need help and I’ll see what I can do.”

“Thank you, you don’t really have to-“

“Gertrude, I hear people say ‘you don’t have to’ a lot. They’re often wrong.” He smirks. You look down, blushing a little.

With that, everyone begins gathering together on the Dance Floor towards the stage. Murphy takes the stage, along with Betty, you, and the other council presidents of Heinlein, and they begin addressing the students.

Murphy says, “Students of Robert Heinlein MA and Lafayette Girls Academy, we’d like to first and foremost thank you for your participation in this wonderful event! Everyone have fun?” Everyone screams affirmatives. “Alright, alright. I’m glad! Allow me to first cordially say goodbye to our friends from Lafayette Girls Academy.”

Betty says, “It’s been a really nice night hanging out with all the guys and gals from Robert A. Heinlein, just to meet everyone was a wonderful experience! I hope we can do this again someday!”

Murphy nods. “Right! Before we leave, let’s send off Lafayette Girls Academy with a song! Everyone, sing with me!”

Part of me says we aren't Shadowrunning nearly hard enough.

Pretty much.
He clearly knows how to handle stress, giving his titles.

Romantic interests aside, he seemed to genuinely care for Trude.

That's half my problem.
This random guy gets introduced, and is basically Mr. Perfect, is super concerned and gets lots of screentime actually doing shit. Meanwhile Lisa is still a non-character, Ramirez and Nancy are one-dimensional as fuck. Where is the development for regular characters not called Kitten? Hell, why wasn't Eugene asking all this for that matter?

“Bye, Harold! Bye, Vernon! Bye, Eugene!”

Eugene gives one last hug to Kitten and one last hug to you before you go. “It’s been fun guys! Can’t wait to see you again!” he says.

Kitten nods, grinning from ear to ear. First time you’ve seen that in a while. “Yeah, it’s been good seeing you again, Eugene.”

You smile warmly. “Really, Eugene. It’s been great! See you!”

The Boys all leave, and with that you turn to your crew and ask, “So how was it?”

Nancy giggles, “Oh, that Vernon! He’s so smart and cool-headed!” She covers her cheeks. “Oh, now I’m so giddy I can’t contain myself!”

You look over at Lisa. She says, “Harold was alright. Definitely not boyfriend material but at least he admits to being a complete pervert, and I admire his honesty and his ability to control himself. Still doesn’t mean anything though.”

“Figures. Anyway, where’s-“ You all look over and see Ramirez apparently talking cutesy with her boyfriend Diego in Spanish. All of you look confusedly at them. “Well. There she is.”

Lisa sighs. “Why can’t I be that happy.”

I'm pretty sure their screen-time vastly beats out Murphy's. And there have been more than enough threads for them to start developing more on their own anyway. Also I'm kind of annoyed that Trude apparently can't find a dude to talk to that doesn't make her blush and stutter, as a non-romance fag this just puts me off interacting with them completely.

You could say this is because she hasn't been around males her age in quite a long time.
But yeah, it's kind of annoying. Thankfully it isn't as exaggerated as it was that one thread, and after this there should be no more of that.

>>28847313
At least for awhile anyway, we might see a couple of them iin the tank meet but yeah not for awhile and we can focus on tanking.

“Oh, don’t sweat it, Lisa.” You place your hand on her shoulder consolingly. “You’ll find a guy someday.”

Lisa rolls her eyes. “If it is not today, then who knows when it shall be.” She sighs. “At least all this business of guys is over. We can get back to managing tanks at least. I look forward to that now.”

Nancy nods, coming between you two. “Indeed! The Tank Meet is next week! Not to mention the stuff that’s gonna happen this week, our tanks are gonna arrive and if I remember correctly, the newspaper’s gonna be published!”

You ask, “They’re finally publishing?”

“They always publish last week of September,” says Nancy. You remember that you don’t actually follow the school newspaper. You can’t remember what its name was.

Lisa says, “Anyway. I had fun. Not as much as I could have, mind you, but since everyone’s had fun, that’s enough for me.”

You nod. “Right, let’s go home everyone.”

You all mount up in your Sherman then start up your engines. Time to head home.

So she talks sparingly in English, yet seems to really cut loose in Spanish.

“So, Ramirez. Your boyfriend was really nice!”

Ramirez nods. “Yep.”

Nancy looks over. “So, you two speak to each other in Spanish more than English?”

Ramirez nods again. “Yeah.”

You sigh. “Ramirez, we’d really like to know about you, you know? It really doesn’t help if you keep ending conversations like that.”

“Okay.” Ramirez scratches her chin. “Well, my boyfriend still works at that barbershop. You all oughta go there when you can.”

Not a bad idea, you say, “Maybe tomorrow. Hell, Kitten could use a-“

Kitten says, “No.”

Ramirez says, “You should visit anyway.”

Lisa says, “We’re just in your dorm, nothing to raise a fuss about.” With that, everyone disrobes out of their dresses and puts one of your spare shirts for extra comfort. Kitten and Nancy immediately focus in on the TV for anything exciting, while Lisa and Ramirez simply idle on their phones. You frown a bit.

“Hey guys,” you say. “Why don’t have an impromptu slumber party?”

Lisa says, “We’re wearing your shirts and there’s barely an extra comforts like pillows or blankets. How are we gonna have a slumber party, Boss?”

You think on it. What could you do?

> Scary Stories

All of you sat listening to Nancy tell her story in your now pitch black room, with the only light source available being a flashlight given to Nancy. She uses it to further her own scariness.

“And then… on that foggy day in Arracourt, the Panther tank roamed the field, blind to his surroundings. But he knew, the Shermans, the ones they called Ronsons and Tommycookers, they were in the area. Always the Panther enjoyed the advantage of range. But now, where could they be? They could be anywhere…”

My god, WHY IS THIS SOMEHOW SCARY?

“And as the Panther rolled on, he stopped. Thanks to the fog, the planes wouldn’t be able to see him, but he could see no Sherman, nor Stuart, nor tanks from its own unit. Then he heard the sound of crawling tracks behind him. He turned around to see, was it a friendly Panther perhaps?”

Lisa raised her eyebrow, obviously trying to find out how this was in any way scary. You, Kitten, and Ramirez however were holding each other for security.

“The Panther rolled back. Confident that it was another Panther. BUT INSTEAD-” You all gasp. “IT WAS AN M4A1 SHERMAN WITH IT’S HIGH VELOCITY 75 MILLIMETER GUN!”

Your screams could be heard for miles.

Should be legal enough, though the judge will raise eyebrow if you bring it.

inb4 advertisement of "SENSHADO LEGAL M10 WOLVRINE!!!" and we ended up buy Panther ersatz.
>>
>>28848116
The ersatz Panther is in fact legal.

As long as all its parts are from before VJ Day, certain things not withstanding like vintage engine parts, and its a closed top tank, then it's completely fine.
>>
>>28848142

Schteel can we convert the Pershing to a T26E4 and still have it legal?

Jumbo Pershing would put the critics to bed of whether its light or heavy
>>
>>28848172
As long as it was a design put together before VJ day, it's valid. So yes, the T26E4 is technically legal.

Though, you're going to run into the issue of the fact that since it was one of those prototypes, it'll probably run a high price for conversion or purchase.

>>

>closed turret design for it exists
No.

>17pdr version
Achilles.
>>
>>28848594
A closed turret 17 pounder Wolverine is literally just a Firefly. They were based off M4 chassis.
>>
>>28848621
Commonwealth pack. We can upgrade the Sherman later, we can upgrade the sentienal to a 25 pdr gun, and the sherman to a 75mm gun, making both conversion sets for the Churchill NA, and the Sentiental 3.

Though I rather just upgrade the sherman to a m4a1 as inspiration from the scary stories
>>
>>28848594
....no.

i refer that Panther/M10; people may try to scam us with false advertising, claiming it is 'Senshado legal M10'.
>>
>>28848672
I see then what of the Pershing?
>>
>>28848722
what with pershing?

All i know about it in this quest context is we bought something we doesn't really need but since we already buy it might as well made the best of it.
>>
>>28848670
Theoretically we could jump the sentinel straight to an AC4 since we have the 17 pdr. It won't be free but it'll be cheaper.
>>
>>28848762
We could try to ram it into the Churchill, but I don't know how the progression worked on that.

Although I'm not sure which would be more useful, doctrinally speaking.
>>
>>28848762
I guess, though I rather not upgrade our gun until they go through the baptism of fire like the freshman team did.

Also, what else can we use the 25 pdr for? I rather we use the 25 pdr for now until they become more experience
>>
>>28848796
i don;t think we can just fit 17pdr to Churchill as it; Black Prince has some modification on hull to accommodate it if i recall correctly.
>>
>>28848823
Nothing useful in an anti-tank context. It's a field gun meant to fire large HE and smoke shells.

it'd be good to disrupt formations, but we already have the Japanse tank for that, mounting a much larger gun.
>>
>>28848852
True, but no one is manning the Japanese tank.

If we're converting, let's save the 17pdr until for later.
