My people, to me! It is now the Sacred Time, and we tell the history of our people in keeping with ancient tradition.Last year our clan received a warning that Cragspider was displeased with us. We retorted by sending a noble to die a pointless death trying to attack her. We also discovered a camp of Horse-Spawn where a beautiful horse was found ripe for the stealing, save that by the time our thieves made it to the camp the nomads have moved on.
Since it's been a while, and we never finished the second year of the last thread, we'll try to do a bit more than usual this time. Here's where we left off.
And here's our omen for the year. Looks like we'll be raiding in Fire season.
Moving on, we have some good news about Enfrew.Wait. No.
Orstalor you motherfucker, we'll miss you.
>>29856215FUCKRIP IN PEACE ORSTALOR YOU GLORIOUS BASTARD
>>29856215>Trickster dies of old ageWorst. Thing. Ever.Do we have a backup? Please tell me we have a backup.
The Sea season music is far too cheerful for what just happened. For this season, we need to get a new member on the clan ring, and I'd like to make another attempt to increase pastures.
>>29856215Game over, it's unwinnable now. Time to restart.
>>29856215First thread in like seven weeks, and THIS happens.fuck everything
>>29856297There's never a backup. Least there's a half decent chance one turns up eventually. Unlike Uroxi. I love Uroxi. Once had an Issaries that kept flying into Uroxi battlerages and getting embarassed by it afterwards, but just isn't the same as a true son of the storm bull
The question now is, who do we replace Orstalor with? Tricksters are special, and Orstalor was a special Trickster, but we still need seven ring members. My vote for replacement goes to Karendra, who has our clan's highest Animal skill and has Heroic Combat. On the downside, she's an Odaylan, which won't be hugely useful (unless one of a handful of random events happens where an Odaylan is useful).I'm also considering replacing Kentvent and his beard with Enfrew. Any objections?>>29856297We don't, Tricksters have a tiny chance of spawning. If we keep feeding nobles to Cragspider we'll get a chance at another one.>>29856336One week. Maybe two. Lots of reasons for the delay, not the least of which is a glorious new computer.
>>29856481And thus, Onelisin remains the last of first-ringers.>replacing Kentvent and his beard with EnfrewGo for it.
The alternative to Karendra is Randella, an Issarian. High (but not Heroic) Bargaining, more goods from trade, and I think she allows an extra trade route. The downside is, if we want to send her on a trade or diplomatic mission, we lose her until the caravan returns. The upside to the downside is there aren't any more treasures to be had, so we won't be sending her off as much as we would.I leave it to you: Karendra or Randella?
>>29856215NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
>>29856481Yeah fuck it, sounds good until we get a new Trickster.Speaking of which, I forget, does constantly sending nobles on Cragspider suicide runs piss her off?
>>29856663I'd go with the Issariate, I always feel naked not having one on the ring.
>>29856663Issaries stronk.
This is our new clan ring. We'll have to replace Onelisin before too long, but this is what it'll look like for the foreseeable future.>>29856727It does. In the PC version of KoDP there's no retaliation due to a bug. In the iOS version though...
Pic fell off.And guess who showed up?
If you said Horsefuckers, you're absolutely right.
Fortunately they've gotten predictable. We killed a good number of them despite using the Bullroarer. No pic of the results screen due to misclick, have the saga version instead.
This is the "before" screen; I'm about to add thirty hides of pasture. You'll note that Randella has a pithy saying. Nobles have personalities, like Onelisin's elf-hate, or Orstalor (Eurmal rest his soul) and his peace seeking. Randella likes sayings.
It's now Fire season. In keeping with the omen, we're going raiding. Shall we raid the Jenestni?Another saying, though it was different when I checked in Sea season.
>>29857086Them or the grey dogsone of them obviously murdered Orstalor
>>29857086Don't remember which clan was which, but yeah, raid the biggest bitches.
Rolled 2They're both fine targets, but in honor of Orstalor wherever he is I say we let Eurmal decide.1=Greydogs2=Jenestni
We were spotted in our approach, and nine weaponthanes mustered in response. I think we're winning.
>>29857298SPLIT YOUR LUNGS WITH BLOOD AND THUNDER
Randella gets into a tough spot during combat. Her Combat skill is Very Good, low-midrange.
>>298573262
>>29857403Second
>>298573262No need to be a hero.
Success.
These are kind of weak numbers honestly.
We captured prisoners. What are we going to do with them?
>>29857496Does that even count as a raid? Because if I were Humakt, I'd be pretty disappointed.
>>29857522Might as well ransom. I know Humakt expected us to kill, but his exact words were "raid before we were attacked ourselves" which actually makes me think that the horsefuckers screwed us out of it. But anyway, ransom's the best option.
30 goods is a pretty good number.>>29857526See, what I think happened is that we got used to raiding during Dark season. Getting people killed is easier in heavy snow, since you just have to ensure the injured can't be recovered. Overnight they die of exposure.>>29857621I'm almost certain you're right.
>>29857672Pfffftahahahahahaha
The game played the sad event music when this popped up. Personally I think this is a good event.>>29857672Hahahahaha what. Okay, where'd it go this time?
>>29857672I can't see the text, but I'll assume it's the event where the funny haired elves offer us a disgusting meal that they swear brings magical power, since I've seen it so many times. The best option, of course, is to kill them all.
Wrong pic. We are being raided by the Anmangarm, but the event in question was this one.
Dear sweet Eurmal they got us. Voting for field cursing.
>>29857780Do tricksters give bonus to combat or something? because weve been doing pretty shitty
Is this actually going to happen? Holy crap. We might be about to kick off tribal warfare.>>29857817Luck of the RNG, that's all.
>>29857870did we actually do anything to them?4
>>29857870Convince them that they are actually not offended and just really suck at interpreting their own emotions.
Whelp.Pick another option from >>29857870, except for 4.>>29857910Twenty years ago we formed a tribe just to spite them.
>>29857983Boast. "Our farmers will beat your warriors. Even our Issari beat your warriors!"
>>29857983Is this seriously RNG alone? Are you sure we haven't lost a treasure somewhere that's making us a lot shittier than we used to be, or a shrine didn't fall apart when we weren't looking?
It helps that Orlgard benched the feasting table.
Fire 2. We've got injured for the first time in a while. They should heal quickly since the healing benefit from Chalana Arroy Heals the Scars is active. What do we do now? Might be time to send a party to Cragspider.>>29858512We decommissioned the Wind Spirit shrine, but that one doesn't provide passive benefits. KoDP can be swingy.
Oh, and I just checked, our newest noble is another Issarian with awful stats.
>>29858621>>29858659So is the plan to recycle nobles until we get a new trickster?
>>29858777It's entirely up to you, but I would like to get someone useful.
>>29858813Yeah. We can actually survive without a Trickster, so long as we get somebody with potential in a useful religion like Humakt or Vinga, or another Elmali with potential to succeed Elusu if need comes.
>>29858875Pretty much. With that decided, we send Perandal on a journey to meet the ancestors.
The Tedanlings have a new chief. I don't think we've interacted much with the Tedanlings.
The Greydogs attack with their... three weaponthanes? What the hell is going on, we haven't even been focusing on them.
Uh oh, Uroxi berserker behind our lines. That explains their behavior.Orlgard has Very Good Leadership and Renowned Combat.
>>29859052Defensive Line...is that a Combat check?
>>29859389Mixed with Leadership in some amount, I think.
>>298590521 on 1 fgt, if he can't do it, he doesn't belong on our team.
Sweet Eurmal, our farmers really are better than their warriors.Hang on, we LOST?!
Wow. Some loss.
It's now Earth season, so no more war for a little while. That doesn't mean there's nothing to do.I'll suggest exploring and Blasting someone's tula.
>>29859641Sounds good to me. I swear though, our luck needs to turn around fast, I don't like these portents for our endgame.
And so we send another party off to explore Prax.
I wasn't aware of this, but it turns out the Tree Brothers and the Old Owls are feuding, and the Tree Brothers have decided that it's time to settle accounts with their tribe mates. What do we do when they've massed on our border?
>>29860239If we offer to make peace, is it Elusu who gets to argue the case?
>>29860257I think so. I think he counts as our Lawspeaker, since he's got the highest Custom on our ring.
>>29860290Let's give it a try then. We can't have inter-tribal feuds tearing us apart at the eleventh hour
Dammit, they hate each other almost as much as we hate the Jenestni.
So that's how we knew the Taralings, the asshole poet who wouldn't stop making poems about our clan was one of them.
Our explorers seem to enjoy beating up on Praxians.
We're about to blast the Jenestni's harvest.
>>29860543Blast away at those fuckers.
Good harvest on our part.
>>29860570Someone, somewhere is now very confused. We also have a visitor coming, and if you guessed it's Horse-Spawn you're wrong.
Horse-Spawn we can fight. Jaldon Goldentooth we can only hope to survive. He's a titan of destruction and he's on his way. What do we do?
...I was almost banned for posting something gay on /HC/ (which I didn't do). If this one of those picture swap things, hope someone there is also sharing our pain.
>>29860403So naive. Everyone knows a satire lasts forever.
>>29860683Recruit all the Thanes, batten down the hatches, and ride it out.
>>29860791Truly a trickster among tricksters. He will forever be missed.>>29860830Not an option, he's on his way right now. There's no time to get more people. We can set traps to make the approach difficult though.
>>29856215RIP most reasonable and chill and bro-like trickster ever.
>>29860683I'll go with the traps because that looks like the least risky while still actually fighting him. I think if we attack him, and fail, then we'll be in worse shape when he attacks us.
King of Dragon Pass is a fairly open game, but as the end approaches the branches get cut off. There's only one way to avoid getting most of your warriors and half your ring wiped out, and that's by setting traps so Goldentooth goes after a softer target.
>>29861127So this is an unavoidable event that's part of the endgame sequence?
Our sacrificial lamb might miss the sacrifice boat. He's got three people with him, so fighting them off is improbable.>>29861166Yes to the first, no to the second (I think). It's a long-game exclusive event. Plus, it's not over yet.
>>29860683For reference, what did the Runic Men do against Goldentooth? Did they kick his ass like they did to everyone else?
>>29861306They set traps too; it's the only thing that can be done.
Honored to be in a Fimbulvetr thread. Hope I catch a glimpse of a particularly pretty Ernaldan. She changed portrait once at 30, and at 56 she was still the same. I've never regretted winning so much. Also, captcha: ashamed deuzedi.
>>29861234Oh no, the guy we're trying to get killed is under attack. How will he ever defend himself? In all seriousness, if he attacks, he'll more likely be wounded than dead, and it will take even longer to recycle him, so he should flee.
>>29856215>Only SANE, REASONABLE trickster I've seen.>Dies when needed probably the most.Seems like a normal game to me.
This guy's a pretty good bluffer, pity that he's going to the grinder.>>29861835There are some portraits that aren't deity locked. Keep an eye out, you might see that one again.
Anyone else getting Dwarf Fortress flashbacks?
We've done this to them six years running and they still haven't cottoned on. This is pretty funny.
It's now Dark season. Those of you who've been here before know what that means.
And the beatings begin.
Elusu has Heroic Leadership, Magic and Combat.
>>29862239It has lost some of its charm by now. Meh, they deserve it.>>29862276Fight bravely?
>>29862276Hit 'em with your magics
Seems we won, but Elusu took an injury.
We're starting to build up a surplus of horses again.
>>29862410Now I feel guilty about that decision
Sorry, laptop crash. Game's still here though, no data loss. The Vingans are trying to ruin our fun again. What do we do about the ginger alliance?>>29862500Build character.
>>29862600We have a ton of feuds, don't we? We might as well end this one, unless they're still a good target.
>>29862600This ritual has no merit. If it lets you go on, respect it but keep raiding
>>29862709I think we're down to three feuds now. They're a pretty good target, we've made good money off of them in the past. Not that we need it now.>>29862600That should read "Builds character", natch.
>>29862795Three seems manageable. Tell them their ritual is meaningless.
Whoops, didn't upload the picture.Anyway, it's now Dark 2. Elusu's better, as well. Raid again or do something else?
>>29862942Keep raiding, they might recover at any moment
Holy shit, I've never seen more weighted odds.
Jotisan has Very Good Combat, Good Magic and no Leadership.
>>298631835
I think this is the most success we've ever gotten from this option.
>>29863278Damn I was hoping to kill him while still taking a reasonable option.
And I thought this would be one of those "everyone on the other side is dead or hurt options". Guess they pulled back when they realized we were coming, we got a LOT of loot.
And now trolls attack.
>>29863278Our warriors are so dangerous, even running away and hiding involves killing several enemies.
>>29863135Keep going, I once managed to face 0 thanes and 20-something footmen
Here's Terasarin fighting trolls. He's got Very Good Combat.
>>298634873 if we're trying to kill him, 1 if not.
Seems Eurmal is feeling merciful.
We did pretty well for ourselves.
Give me a break, let me break the Jenestni.
It's now Storm season. Give me one action, and they're we'll perform a heroquest. I'm thinking Orlanth and Aroka again, for the Widebrew.
>>29864044It's been too long, where are we in terms of the end game events? Have we met the milk eyed prophet?
>>29864086Yes, and we completed all of the heroquests. We're waiting on the rest of the events to trigger.
>>29864044Any excess feuds we could try to bribe to a close? I think I saw a reference to us being raided by the Stag Hearths, do we even care about them anymore?
>>29864629We're actually down to just two feuds now, to my surprise. Other clans will raid you if they don't like you, or if you're weak. In our case, most of our old feuding partners still don't like us, so we get raided by a good number of clans.
>>29864802I think the break's been long enough that the people more unfamiliar with the game (like me) don't know what to call for on our own. Any suggestions to offer?
>>29864802So, we should patch things up with our former enemies? How do we go about that? Just gift them something? I remember the Anmangarni attacked us this year, should we send them a "thank you so much for attacking us" present?
>>29865010Fair enough. Quickly: There are five seasons in the game. During each, you can perform two actions. Generally you want to do peace time events in Sea and Earth season (sowing and harvest time), war related activities in Fire (or Dark, if your clan is good at fighting in the cold), any kind of home event in Dark season (barring the previous caveat), and all activities are available in Storm season.Peace activities: Sacrificing, heroquesting, exploring, trading, diplomacyWar activities: raiding and cattle raiding>>29865091Sending gifts. We have a lot of horses, and horses are expensive. Want to send some to the Anmangarn?
>>29865230Unless you can name a better clan, that sounds fine. Humiliating, but practical.
We'll make up the horse debt pretty quickly.
If not for the grace of those traps, this could have been us.The Owls are in bad shape. What should we give them in help? Note that sending them carls will make our next harvest somewhat smaller than usual.
>>29865496Give them food, it should be more useful to them than trade goods.
How many units of food do we give? One unit of food is the amount needed to feed one person for a year.
>>29865612Since I don't know how many of them there are and how much they need, I'm just going to guess 400 is enough to last them until they can support themselves again.
>>29865496I say we use this opportunity to forge new alliances. Rebuild them in our image!
>>29865930You aren't given much information on other clans. There are ways to learn a few things, but the only clan you have solid numbers on is your own.Still, four hundred units of food is extraordinarily generous.>>29865957They're already allies, and tribe mates. We did a lot of work to put this tribe together.
The Jenestni pick this exact moment to attack. I suppose it saves us the trouble of going to their tula.
The game is trying to get Elusu killed, this is the third time in as many years that this event has proc'd.
>>298661163 worked before, let's try it again.
Uh oh.
Or not. Good Orlanth, look at those numbers.
>>29866323Good gosh, it's a clean sweep. Every enemy in the battle either dead or wounded. We haven't had one of those in a while.
The downside to having an Issarian on the ring is that you have to be careful when you send them out. For example, we won't get the 7 god bonus to the heroquest because Randella is away during the festivities. We'll be performing Orlanth and Aroka to grab the quest's last treasure.
Item get. The Widebrew increases the number of injuries we deal when we try to kill as many enemies as possible.
Humakt, no, this one's on you. They attacked in Sea season.
At least things went well with the Anmangarn.
>>29866681Thanks for nothing Humakt.
>>29866681Yeah, we should have just attacked at the beginning of sea season and ruined our harvest so no one would have anything to eat and die of starvation instead of honourably in battle, IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT HUMAKT?!
>>29866714For now. Don't forget, they're the ones who broke a truce and killed a diplomatic party. But maybe they've had a change in leadership since then.
And that's the year.I'm going to call the game for now, we'll pick up in this thread twelve or so hours from now. Hope everyone's gotten back into the swing of things, we'll be playing a lot more in the next few weeks.I'll stick around for a bit to answer questions. Thanks for playing all.
>>29866823Hopefully they made one of their new horses a leader. I bet he'd be better than their entire ring.
>>29866834So from what I understand there's three phases of this game, clan, tribe, and something else. What's the third and are we at it yet? And how long will it last?
>>29866877Yeah, where are we, end game wise? I never played the game to completion...
>>29866877>>29866899The third phase is kingdom. It lasts until you succeed in forming a kingdom in Dragon Pass or until you catastrophically fail and another tribal king manages it.This is the phase we are in. We've completed the required heroquests, now it's just a matter of waiting for the end game events to start.
ORSTALOR NOOOOOOOOO
>>29866834So... is he coming back?
Oh no, our crafters won't make more goods to add to the piles that we already have.Speaking of, we might send off a caravan to buy extra food, I like to have two years worth on hand.
What a surprise: Derik Singlepath the Praxian hater wants to kill the uber Praxian who just invaded Dragon Pass. And he wants our help to do it.What do we tell this man?>>29877413Also forgot to mention, since we have Randella replacing Orstalor on the ring, we now can put an extra point into trade at the cost of one point in quests.
>>298775153
And how many of our weaponthanes do we give to Derik?
>>298776947
And away they go to kill the that which will not stay dead.
The only screen where Randella doesn't have a pithy saying is the trade screen, where it turns out that one point of magic into Trade equals one extra trade route. So it happens that we've got to spin our wheels while waiting for the next event. We're in very good shape, high morale across the board and a burgeoning population. The only thing I don't like is that we've got too many hunters again and not enough crafters.I'd like to suggest dropping the number of hunters and increasing the number of crafters for this season's actions. But there's trade and exploration to be had, so choose wisely.
>>29877840Where haven't we explored? Would it be feasible to hit the end season button until we get end game events, or is there more preparation we could do?
>>29878179There's always more preparation you can do. If nothing else, performing heroquests will provide passive boosts, we can continue recycling nobles, there are treasures to be found, and we can still try to open up Dwarf Mine.
>>29877840Sounds good.
Surprised anyone was still in the thread. Here we are firing 23 hunters.
>>29881951Onelisin confirmed for the one who keeps hiring more hunters behind our backs.
>>29881951FUCKING ELVES
The thanes are feeling a bit stretched thin. Remember that options 1 and 5 get us thanes immediately, and that 4 can take up to a year (and loses us Randella).
>>298820325, and there is always time for your poetry Elusu
>>298820325 sounds reasonable, I think.
Two free thanes, not bad.
It's time for the Horse-Spawn's annual attack.
This has not been our time.
>>29882344At least we didn't need those horses.Maybe we should use the Lightning ritual more often.
I'm going to hire more weaponthanes rather than risk another surprise attack like that.
The Tree Brothers want some of our magic. Three ring members suggest giving them gifts instead.
>>29882497Hrmmmm. Who suggests?
>>29882631Randella, Leika and Enfrew.
>>29882497They might need it for something important we don't want them to fail, like a heroquest. Give them more than they need.
If Elusu weren't already king for life, I'd make a campaign slogan here. As it is, if we have to replace Elusu we'll probably have a good base to work from.
It's now Fire season. Thinking about it, we could still stand to have more thanes, so you might suggest that as an action.Or we could sacrifice for the Lightning ritual, your choice.
>>29882810If we don't have any raid omens, we could do both, even. Probably first hire thanes, then add thunderzord power.
First we hire thanes.
Then we're raided by the Greydogs.
>>29882995time to put them down
And then I jostled the flashdrive I have the game on. Luckily it came back. And so did a bit of our battle luck, it seems.
In the second half of fire season we sacrificed for the Lightning ritual. It will increase the damage we deal out in combat.
>>29883157like 80% of their forces wounded or killed and not a scratch on ours? good, good.
Judgment time! Personally I think both clans should gang up on the Greydogs, we know they're Malia worshiping scum, but the Gorinds and Tree Brothers want to have it out with each other instead. Can I assume that you're going to want me to question both sides and then ask the gods?
>>29883290divination sounds good, though I hope the gods don't bitch slap us again for disturbing their sleep or whatever
OK, this game looked really fun, so I went ahead and got it for Christmas. Now that I actually have time to play... I have no idea what I am doing. Like, everything just seems to happen and compared to these threads my Magic, Population and pretty much everything is shit. AND THIS IS ON EASYHrm. I meant to ask if anyone has any friendly advice for a new player? Also, what's up with the Heroquests being so damned hard?!
This might be tough, both Elusu and the ancestors say that the Tricksters are innocent.>>29883370The ancestors just get pissy if you bug them about doing your own job. We're not expected to play supernatural detective.>>29883393That tends to happen for a while. The most important thing to keep in mind is to learn the right blessings and to build shrines to make them permanent. Truesword from Humakt, Calf Blessing from Uralda, Silvertongue from Issaries and Ernalda's Bless Crops are the ones you need most.Heroquesting is meant to be deadly, to encourage you not to abuse it like you inevitably will. For best results, make sure that seven gods have representatives on your clan ring and that you put points into quests. Always use a devotee of the god you're questing for. Make sure that someone on the ring has a Magic stat of Renowned or Excellent at the very least.
>>29883576WHY WOMEN ARE OVERTAKING OUR CLAN RING
>>29883783Because they're better than you, Carl. And anyway, it's still a 4-3 split, so there's no ill-effect to the birthrate.>>29883576Forgot to say, even IF the tricksters are innocent, we can find in favor of the Gorinds to increase how much they like us. Up to you: Side with tricksters (and incidentally justice) or side with the hunter bros?
>>29883828Side with the Tricksters. Might as well.
1 point to clan magic. Doesn't make up for what we spent in the divination.
>>29883828Sorry Gorinds, but we're an ally of Justice.
Earth season. Just need to burn two actions until we go raiding again. Cragspider, maybe? In other news, our new nobles are here. Hindala is a Vingan, so we have a replacement for Onelisin at last. Her stats need buffing, as you can see. Hengall is a Barntar worshiper, and his stats are already better than Jositan's. He'll make a good replacement for Orlgard eventually.
>>29884630Jotisan has lower stats? Send him to meet the ancestors.
And so we send off one of the finest members of our clan to die pointlessly against an abomination against everything we hold dear.
Derik's last name is Furman? Hahaha oh god.Anyway, Derik killed Goldentooth, but he's almost dead himself. His people brought him here. What do we do with the hero in our midst?
>>29884905Odd, I know I attached the pic.
>>29884905Try healing him? Worst comes to worst, we can just resurrect him.
We actually won clan magic for the healing.
>>29884630Train up Hindala, definitely.
And now we get to choose our reward. Treasure, cows, good, magic or nothing?
>>298852001another to stuff into the closet
Like Elusu suggested, the Hunting Horn improves our tracking ability. We haven't seen any of those events lately though.
Someone suggested empowering Hindala. Is this something we're interested in using this year's heroquest on?
>>29885467Onelisin's time is short; I think we can go for this. Orlanth and Aroka?
>>29885544That's the one that empowers Vingans.
>>29885597I know, I didn't click on the image until after I responded.
Small correction: Devotees of any god can perform any heroquest, but Vingans count as Orlanthi for the purposes of the favored quest bonus.
We've said three times now that maybe the feud will end because someone is dead. You're not convincing me this time. But good lord, the woman must be ancient.
Turns out the fox has a lot to say. A talking fox has demanded that we stop clearing lands and stop hunting foxes. What do we do about its demands?
>>29885870Will acceding to its demands harm us unduly?
>>29886097We'd be unable to expand pastures for five years, and we'd also take a hit to crafting.
>>29886118The crafting hit probably isn't bad; how desperately in need of pasture clearing are we? Perhaps we can negotiate a one-deal on this...
>>29886194Our pastures have been consistently overcrowded for the last twenty years. Want to make one concession?
>>29886242Sure why not, I've never tried that before.
Looks like that cheesed off the ancestors a bit.
Dark season! Time for our annual raids against the Jenestni.
I'm posting this to show how relations with the Colymar are worsening.
>>29886395It's not like we wanted to have brackenwives anyways.
I think the Jenestni have had a bad year.
The Jenestni have done something to piss Orlanth off. Kentvent finds himself in a position to take advantage. He has Renowned Combat and Excellent Leadership.
>>29886614Fight bravely.
Kentvent still is a badass.
Dare I hope things will continue in this fashion?
And now trolls. This is getting sadly predictable. We might want to run a heroquest to strike a blow against the Dark clan, like Lhankor Mhy.
Karendra takes a knock, and now has to decide how she'll spend the rest of the battle. Heroic Combat.
>>29886915Hm.
>>29886964Fight bravely!
Midway through the battle Karendra decides that she's not killing trolls fast enough, so she grabs a second sword to speed things up.
Nice. I think we might want to enshrine Lightning.
Let's hit the Jenestni again, this is therapeutic.
I'm almost starting to feel bad about this.
Not enough to stop, you understand, but in the general sense it's like kicking a puppy.A vicious Chaos-spawned puppy, so maybe I shouldn't feel anything but glee.
Jositan's party meets bandits; remembering the success of the last time we picked bluff I tried it again and it worked. He's off to see the witch, the horrific witch-goddess of trolls.
And so dies Jotisan, whose name I never got right until he was dead.
One of these days that clan will die and stay dead.
Another request for magic, this time from a clan to whom we owe a favor. Do we pay it with magic, or with goods?Keep in mind that we're near a feud with these guys.
>>29887382Somehow we have even more than we did last time, and we could afford to give generously then, so we can afford to give generously now.
>>29887416On the other hand, if we're nearly about to feud with these guys, fuck 'em. They can't have our secret sauce.
>>29887382Give more, we've got plenty and it never hurts to repay favors when we've got the chance.
He liked that.
We're still near to feuding with the Osgosi though.Anyway, it's now Storm season. Since we've already done our heroquest for the year, another one in this season is likely to fail. I'd suggest enshrining the Lightning blessing, then exploration or trading for food.
>>29887553You didn't already have Lightning? Shit, no wonder we've been losing fights. And yeah, get food. 2+ years is what you want.
Built the shrine, immediately see a raid from the Jenestni.I like those forces. Very intimidating.
Kentvent again. Renowned Combat, Excellent Leadership.
>>29887741Is fight bravely still an option? Do that.
Our lawyers are superior to your warriors.
Brings a tear to my eye, this does.
Our last action for the year is going to be sending a caravan to the ducks, from whom we will buy a ridiculous amount of food.
Cool, one of our allies is the strongest clan in Dragon Pa--Wait, what about us?
And that's the yea--SWEET EURMAL THAT'S A LOT OF NEW ADULTS.That's it for this thread, we'll return in two days time, hopefully with an earlier start so we can get more done. Thanks for playing all, hope you've had fun.I'll stick around for a bit to answer any questions you might have.
>>29888106So Lightning might really have been the missing piece to our combat puzzle?
>>29888175I strongly suspect. Humakt the Champion gives a passive boost to your weaponthanes for two years, and I think Heroic Combatants give the same kind of effect. When we had both we won a lot of battles. When we lost several heroes and Humakt wore off, we went back to being at the mercy of the RNG.Just a guess though. Lightning is one of the really good blessings though, so we should have had it earlier.
Is there any way we can help the jenestni grow their numbers so we can have proper fights and stop dishonoring the gods?
>>29887971How do they even have anybody left?
>>29888600Making peace with the oathbreakers would give us something to do until end events...
>>29888600We could choose not to raid them for ten years.>>29889067Bullshit AI powers. When an AI clan sues for peace, it's because you've killed most of their warriors. If for whatever reason you don't accept their surrender, they have a chance of dissolving, moving their tula, or getting automatic reinforcements. Needless to say, they're most likely to get the reinforcements, which bolsters both their farmers and their thanes.
Is theere a way to run this on Windows 7?
>>29887938Kentvent has probably strangled a Janestri bitch or two with his beard.
