It is the year 22XX and Humanity has reached the stars. Alas, even though they have attained the lofty goal of interstellar travel, mankind has yet to conquer it’s baser instincts.Humanity is ruled by ultra-Corporations. Some own continents. Some own multiple worlds. But no matter who you are, everyone is a citizen-employee somewhere. The qualms that beset corporations of the past, copyright infringement, tech theft, still exist. If anything, they are amplified by the scale of the players.Without government to turn to for legal recourse and separated by millions and billions of miles, corporations have turned to less savory solutions to resolve disputes. You are one of those solutions. You are an elite mercenary, also known as a High Impact Public Representative, of the StrikeOut Company, a group of mercenaries who accept contracts and missions from the highest bidder. You are launched out of a spaceship in a drop pod filled with bright orange and highly toxic gel. You grunt a begrudging assent as Niels checks the time on his e-glasses. “Ah crap, sorry Ivan. I got to go meet Ifu for some training.”“Oh hey, that’s pretty cool.”“I suppose so, but I think that for today at least, this is goodbye. Also, get the fuck out of my quarters.”You snort and roll your eyes as you take your leave of Ivan’s quarters. You’re halfway down the hallway when you remember what you wanted to say. Unfortunately, Niels is already gone, off to wherever the hell he was going anyway. “Damn,” you mutter, “And his reaction would’ve been great too.”Ah well. That’s always something you can harass Niels with later. Just as you wonder what you’ll do with yourself today, a ping notification appears in your e-glasses. It’s from Svenja. http://pastebin.com/Z6jQGekNFucking hell. You thought you did a pretty good job bossing Tsukino around. Although, looking back on it, you only gave minimal orders. Sorta left Tsukino to her own devices. Mostly just stuck to scowling and smiling like a fucking lunatic. That might not be terribly professional.Shrugging to yourself, you boredly contemplate the deserted hallway, when yet another ping comes in. It’s Cy.>Hey man, you got a minute? Exactly, you have nothing better to do anyway. Wondering why you even were wondering about helping Cy out, you march off your quarters to acquire your various tools of the trade. Micro-welder, stuff like that. As you walk, you ping Cy.>Hey dude. Be there in a bit.Burrowing through your somewhat messy quarters you eventually recover all of your equipment. You might need to clean this place up a bit should you have the time. Your mind full of obligations to personal cleanliness, you make for Cy’s quarters.Holy shit, it’s like it got bombed or something. The room is an absolute sty, clothing and wrappers lie strewn about every which way. Thank god it doesn’t smell. Much. Staring around in shock and horror, you mouth uncomprehendingly at Cy.“Huh. Huh. Hooooooowwww?”Cy looks around his room for a few seconds before responding. “Mostly just gotta get them to invite me back to their place. Keeps me on top of my game, you know?”“But dude. They have bots for this shit. Or at least, for all the hard parts.”Cy shrugs. “Don’t want a bot rifling through my shit.”Shaking your head, you look around the sullied quarters. “So. Where in this mess is the armor or whatever you wanted me to work on? Underneath the socks?”Cy chuckles and directs you to his bed, where his body armor is located, along with several hexagonal plates. You walk up to them. Cy stand behind you, grinning excitedly. “It’s the latest release in the Electractive Defense line. These bad boys have a hyper capacity battery that allows them to fry incoming munitions with electricity. It’s insane.”You sit down on the corner of Cy’s bed and get to work on the armor.>Roll a 3d10 for a tech check!>Also, anything you want to say to Cy?

You pull out your micro-welder and get to work on the Electractive Armor plates, soldering them into place along the designated attachment lines. You make sure to put them over area that need the most protection. As you work, a thought occurs to you. “Hey Cy. You aren’t no Elda or Tsukino or nothing. Where the hell did a rookie like you manage to find the cash to pay for armor plates like these? Electractive is high tech shit.”Cy grunts as he watches you work. “Eh. After I finished with Shattered Moon, turned out I had enough credits to make the down payment on a few of these bad boys. StrikeOut gave me a loan to cover the rest of the cost.”You look up from your work. “Dude. You’re a heavy weapons specialist. I think you may be the only rookie more broke than me right now, and you decided to get this?”Cy shrugs and you continue. “I mean c’mon, don’t you ever want to not be StrikeOut’s debt slave?”“Hey bro. I’m not about to get out of debt any time soon, so way I figure it, I set it up so I can stay alive for as long as possible, then I can pay StrikeOut back. I’m not gonna put my life on the line just to pay off my debt. Like some people in this room.”“Hey now…”“I’m just saying. Priorities man.”Snorting, you go back to welding on the final hexagon plate. “So how much did this shit cot you anyway?”“Twenty thou.”“Total? That’s not too bad at all then.”“No. Each.”You look up at Cy in horror. “Dude. There are ten of these fucking things. That’s like a metric asston of red you just buried yourself in.”Cy merely shrugs his indifference once more. “Whatever. I’ll stay alive. And not get my ass injured an barred from missions for about two weeks.”>Choices in next post

So..if my math is correct, and it's probably not, Cy can literally never get himself out of this debt, barring any sort of dramatic windfall.Sucker.
>>30123227Pay grades. He gets promoted, he'll beat interest. This does underscore the need to make bank.
>>30123052>>Write inLets ask about that weapons market we could set up in Level-K.
>>30123254But that is assuming he doesn't push himself further into debt before his pay grade increases. Which given his current love of spending, seems unlikely.
>>30123307Oh yeah, the swap meet idea. Couldn't hurt, and it might be pretty popular with the old folk.
>>30123324Lets give the QM room to write the characters and think about how to get US outta debt, bro. I hope by now we're getting close to dispelling this whole idea about 'oh we can just do missions and be a wage slave forever' being the way to go.Cy might also be doing work on the side, he's a combat medic and that might mean he picks up the odd shift as an ambulance monkey or something.
Alright, learn about Shenanigans with Markos, get whatever info Cy has on Marlena.Ask about Electractive defenses if time permits, remember to ping Niels later about including Cy on drop.
>>30123351That idea is for getting equipment under market price, where does it turn into a profit for us? It's just about reducing cost.
>>30123357I thought we did that when we had the arguments about gaming the stock market?
>>30123384Apparently not, with the way people voted afterwards. We should set up a goddamn mechanic's shop.
>>30123379Couldn't hurt. Not spending as much or trading for goods or services would help with saving money, albeit at a slower pace and using older goods.
>>30123254I'm not so sure about that. We only barely broke interest thanks to the pay grade increase, and that was on mission one. We started out with a debt of 80 grand. We get ~10 grand per mission, assuming things go well. We're juust about able to pull past interest, and we're only allowed to pay back so much of our loan at a time.Cy probably started around 90 grand, conservatively, and he just dug himself into a 200 grand hole. We can't calculate the loan interest, because it was never given to us ("XX%" was all we got), but, if we assume, say, 10%...With the cap on repayment, Cy is Literally unable to escape debt.
>>30123437We got 20 grand last mission.
Rolled 1, 1, 5 = 7>>30123437thats only on base pay rates, not taking into account bonuses for secondary objectives and loot and profits from spoilsthere are many ways for Cy to get out of debt, they merely take time
>>30123426It doesn't hurt, but it fixes nothing. What it's good for is reputation but probably every merc would say more about us adjusting the mainspring in his sidearm than about us finding someone to buy some trashy old gun they had lying around.
>>3012349610 grand base pay, plus hazard, plus keeping the base in tact. If the mission did not go *Exceptionally* well, we would have been looking at 13 grand., plus marginal amounts from loot.
>>30123496And we spent half of it on our debt...
>>30123526>if it didn't go exceptionally wellAll that means is we keep performing as well as possible, which hopefully involves some more teamwork. It does nicely support the idea that we need a lot more money than the occasional odd job cleaning a friend's gun is gonna cover.
>>30123496I think he means net since we still have to deduct the expense of mission specific new equipment from our take.
Anyone else expecting compulsory augmentation upgrades as you rise in rank?
>>30123564Yep. Didn't want to divorce that other guy's math from reality, though he was making a good point.
>>30123517We ARE a techie, so if we get older guns and refurbish them for ourselves, we can save a good bit of dosh. Plus, if we show off our refurbished gun to the previous owner, we could then start up a repair shop.
>>30123585No, but I AM expecting that if we want to stick with being close-in badass guy we're gonna be shelling out for life preservation and dermal impact armor and shit like you wouldn't believe. We need to buy a fucking shotgun.
>>30123600Man, if we want an actual tech job all we gotta do is get on space facebook and mention that we'd like one. Everybody's inviting our ass to shit right now. Part-time work in a shop when we're available for contracting could be just the thing to do during downtime.
>>30123608I agree with the shotgun sentiment, at least.
>>30123600Techie or no, refurbished items are not what we want to be staking our life on. Upgrading new equipment, sure, but the second we miss ONE flaw in the equipment, it's going to kill us.
>>30123600Or we could resell them for a profit, a grand or two here and there could be useful for chipping away at the principle on our loans.
>>30123608I say fuck the dept and buy Cy's like armor.....if we are dead we can't pay it off richt?and we need fucking armor if our base strategy is run up and fuck people's day with an axe

We're already murdering people for them. It's likely StrikeOut's piece of the pie for any of these jobs is bigger than what the mercs get combined. They have to pay for transportation, insertion, extraction, any other hidden costs, and probably lawyers and negotiators. Let's not start getting paranoid by thinking our part of the puzzle matters as much to them as the insertion craft not exploding, or something, and do our job well.We need money but easy with the paranoia.

“So Cy. I’m assuming that Markos failed to impress upon you the importance of fiscal responsibility while the pair of you were in the Armory yesterday?”Cy chuckles. “Guy tried man. But he didn’t have a fucking leg to stand on, the way he was drooling over those exotic shells for the MPSE.”“What, like incendiaries and bolas?”“Well not bolas. He went on a like five minute rant about how evil those things were. No he was really excited about some EM shells. Apparently they can scramble electronics something fierce.”“That actually sounds pretty convenient.”“Yeah,” replies Cy as he clips on his upgraded torso armor, “But hella expensive. They’re not like the dummy rounds that StrikeOut hands us for free. Shit costs moolah.”“Huh. But it’s at a mark up too. I don’t think anyone else sells exotic ammo outside of the Armory.”“Not that I’ve heard of,” answers Cy bitterly. “There are a fuckton of sweet warheads for my GOLP-3, but I can’t get any of them, they’re all at least a hundred credits a pop.”“Well, at least you resisted the urge to buy those too.”“Hey man. The Armory gave me a sweet loan on those hex-plates. Like half the normal rate. It’s smart marketing man. They give me good rates on great armor, I stay alive longer to buy more of their shit. One hand washes the other.”“Whatever dude,” you say, snorting. Cy really needs to work on those impulse purchases. Ain’t no way there’s an interest rate good enough to be worth going 200,000 more in the red. You decide to change the subject though. Cy can get a little defensive about his spending habits. “So man, you hear about somebody named Marlena Redskies?”
Cy slides the body armor off, gently laying it on top of a pile of t-shirts. “Shit dude, the Martian? A little. How’d you hear about her?”You decide not to share your suspicions about Elda’s misadventure with the Martian. Shit’s private. Instead, you attempt to play it cool. “Dunno. Went drinking with Choi Lei and Maxim last night. She was there too. Wondered if you knew anything about her.”“Not directly. No,” answers Cy, looking serious, “But Choi did mention her a few times when I was getting specialty training with him.”“Oh?”“Yeah. Supposed to be pretty cool most of the time. Got this weird like vendetta thing going on though. Against Mars, I mean. Choi didn’t go into specifics.”“Any details?”“Not really. Choi mentioned this one time she blew up like five grain silos as a distraction during a drop that went FUBAR. Shot a ‘nade into one and ran to cover their evac. Bunch of big explosions.”“Shit.”“I know, right,” responds Cy as he picks up the body armor and begins to pack it into his duffel bag. “Thanks for the equip, bro. Armory wanted to charge me like 5,000 for it.”“No problem,” you say as you stand up from Cy’s bed. “That’ll be 2,000. Friend discount.”Cy looks up at you in shock. “You’re joking.”You roar with laughter. “Completely. It was an honor enabling your fiscal irresponsibility.”Cy joins you with a few nervous chuckle of his own. “Yeah… but seriously I’m completely broke until next mission. It really is a straight toss up, but after getting your shit pushed in by Dreads before your absurd recovery, you feel like pumping some iron. Or whatever the hell they make the ultra-dense weight plates from. Wandering back to your quarters to grab a change of clothes, you hurry down to the gym. It’s 1100 station time, you’re surprised you haven’t seen more people out and about. Maybe you missed the morning commute when you were hanging out with Cy.You walk up to the gym, bag hanging off of your shoulder and water bottle in hand. The doors slide open to reveal a room, perhaps not filled, but certainly much more occupied than the last time you were here. You check your e-glasses in confusion. Ah. Saturday. We got civvies on deck. You walk into the gym, somewhat conscious of the stares. Most mercs have no interest in exercise, enhanced muscles and the nature of their work obviating much of the need. Besides, even with myocyte pack Ares and Neo Hemoglobin, you can still make gains. Shit only forces you to work harder and longer. Still, you can’t help but feel a little abashed as you set yourself up in the section of the gym designed for the super-human mercs. Exercising around civvies feels like arm wrestling a kindergartener. Of course you’re stronger, what are you trying to prove? Nothing of course, but it still leave you with a strangely guilty sensation.A sensation which vanishes as you strain against the hydraulic bench press. Time to revel in your genetically enhanced physique. The exertion drowns out all thoughts and irrational feelings of shame. You inhale and exhale in a rhythm, matching the flexing of your muscles. You consider your opponents. Fifteen equally innocuous showerheads gaze at their drains stoically. But which one unleashes the accursed jets of man-lust? You prowl around, searching for a sign, a momentary lapse in their poise. None present themselves. After a few more minutes of stalking around the bathroom you chose a shower at random, thrusting yourself into the hands of fate. You wince as the water trickles onto your back, growing into a torrent. A few seconds to judge the atmosphere. Nope. Nothing. Just running water. Gingerly you get out the soap and shampoo and get to work. The soap suds up and does it’s usual thing. Nothing erotic about it. Shampoo drips down your back. It doesn’t sensually explore the crags of your steely trapezius or anything else like that. Just drips down into the drain, not at all hugging close to the tightly bound cables of your latissimus dorsi, running in between the tensed bundles of muscle. No that certainly isn’t happening, you think to yourself as your biceps surge in the hot spray, running the washcloth over your glistening pectorals. You groan as the suds flow down, over the hills of abdominal muscles, tense from exertion, and around your most sens-Your eyes bulge. The shower. It has become clever. It has studied that arts of war and deception in your absence. Once more, it has you in it’s grasp. Falling prey to it once, acceptable, you did not know better. But twice? The fountainhead hisses, amused at your folly, reveling in it’s glorious victory once more.

No. Not today. Your fist slams into the side of the stall, tiles and ceramic dust explode outwards. They glisten in the light. You can see them spin, their trajectories disrupted by drops of liquid. The reflected light. Like a thousand stars. In that moment, it becomes clear what you must do.==GRIT MODE ACTIVE==The stream of water sputters and dies. Your fist struck the pipe. It’s bent shut. The torrent of lusty liquid transforms into a dribble. Air exits the shower head, sounding more like an oath of vengeance rather than a plumbing failure. You raise your head slowly, bits of shampoo and water dripping off. Now is the time for action. Decisive, corrective action. You stride clear from the shower, face contorted into a rictus of wrath and joy. A fellow gym patron looks up at you in confusion. Then he sees your face. Terror. You seize your gym shorts and slide them on, your only concession to decency. You storm out of the bathroom, steam rising off of bulging muscles. You know what must be done. The horns sound in your ears. The hounds bray. The Tungsten Stapler docked less than an hour ago. You had your e-glasses set up to warn you when the cruiser did, so you knew when to go into hiding. Knowing her, she’d be on the prowl for you seconds after seeing that vid. A change of plans. You are the hunter now. She just doesn’t know that.Yet.You begin to actively ping her profile, trying to get a lock on her location. She pings you back. You accelerate, taking care not to switch into a run. Just a controlled stride. In one of the office wings, no one here. Everyone at work. You turn a corner. She stands at the other end of a long hallway. This time, you both smile. They are dangerous smiles.>Plan of Attack!>Ivan is in Grit Mode, and receives an automatic +5 to rolls!

You blitz forward, bare feet pounding against the ground as you charge towards the Valkyrie. She unleashes a laugh that slide more towards a roar before reciprocating, barrelling forward herself. No openings as she closes. Time to make one. You fling your mesh bag at her face. It soars true through the air. As Valkyrie swats it down you change direction ever so slightly, lowering your torso in the process. Your left arm slams into her abdomen like a steel bar. You grit your teeth as you overcome Valkyrie’s inertia. Good thing this wasn’t your other arm. Might’ve re-broken the bones. Valkyrie flies backwards from the force of the blow as you slow yourself to a stop, feet sliding against the station floor. She kicks up, looking at you with a mixture of surprise and joy.You grin as she charges forward. The first punch you take on your shoulder, rolling away from the impact. Your counterstrike lands home, connecting with the Valkyrie’s side. A one-two combo hit from her. You dodge the first bow with ease. Just as she expected. The second blow makes contact with your solar plexus. The air explodes out of your lungs in a startled gasp as you stumble back. You look up just in time to see Valkyrie jump into the air, feet aimed or a follow up blow.
Nope. You’ve learned a thing or two from her. Your had surges out as you take a few backwards steps, snatching Valkyrie’s ankle in mid air. The merc stares at you for less than half a second. To you it seems minutes, long enough to appreciate the blossoming of shock across her face. Then, before you can react, her knees are facing the ground. Then, they are bent, and her hands are on your shoulders. Valkyrie wrenches her leg clear from your grasp and her grip on your shoulders tightens painfully. You have an out of body experience, your mind’s eye vividly visualizing her knees swinging up in an upside down pendulum motion, and crashing into your back. You stumble forwards and fall. Flipping over, you turn over just in time to see Valkyrie get up from her own ignominious plummet. You lash out with a leg sweep, successfully knocking her back to the ground. You jolt forward, attempting to grapple the deadly merc. Valkyrie has other things in mind, however. She flows out of your grip like water and suddenly she’s on your back. Chokehold. Legs wrapped around your own to keep you from standing up. She bites your ear. Took her long enough.“Having fun, rookie?”>Plan of Attack!>Also, witty rejoinders.

Strained chuckle. Best you can manage given the circumstances. You raise your head up and bring it crashing back down. Valkyrie shouts in pain and surprise. Hurts you too. Think you hit the jaw. Grunting your indifference, you use her momentary lapse in focus to attempt to stand. Her legs lock once more, bringing that ambition to a sudden halt. Whatever. Gave you an openings anyway. You hand and head shift in the hold. Both feet on the ground once more. Pressing both feet to the ground, you kick, and you lift into the air in a glorious reverse suplex. You land hard onto the ground. Valkyrie lands slightly harder. Her grip collapses and you push yourself free against her forearms. Panting, you scuttle backwards before standing fully upright hands raised in a boxing guard. Valkyrie stands and spits blood out of her mouth. It splatters against the floor of the station. A smear of bright, bright red against the grey. She charges.>Final Plan of Attack!

Valkyrie is charging at you. Again. She seems incensed. Not too interested in finesse or grace. You can see each step. Each foot fall echoes in your ear. This must be bullet time. Huh. Pretty neat. You watch with a strange detachment as Valkyrie approaches, arms and legs pumping. As she closes part of you wonders if the opening is a ploy. A trap to entice you into over extending yourself.Well, he who dares, wins. You lower yourself into a position not dissimilar to the one cossacks go into when doing their ridiculous squatting kicking dance. The Kezachack? Something like that. Either way, you drop low to the ground and lash out with both feet. Valkyrie is lifted backwards into the air, red hair forming the tail of a comet as she flies backwards.Valkyries lands with a thud. You get to your feet. She doesn’t. You walk over to her. The merc has propped herself up on her elbows, hair swept over her face. She looks up at you with her one exposed eye. You grab her by the collar of her enviro-suit, hoisting her into the air.“You wanted to lose.”Valkyrie bites her lip and grins. Then her hands are on your shoulders and she's pulling herself in.“Winning isn’t all the fun.”

Alright, a whole lot of different opinions and interests here. I'll grant two scenes, and I think I'll post some pastebin links for your perusal about the background. Fair warning, they're not really formatted to look like a wiki article or anything, these would be more along the lines of my setting info cheatsheets. As for the Two scenes:Dream Sequence seems to have won a spot pretty handilyAnd some sort of vignette approach as >>30130561 suggested strikes me as the best compromise.>Talk to Niels and Elda before they leave on a mission>Scene with Cy and Markos in the bar>Quick aside with ValkyrieThe limiting factor for me is the time it will take to write this up and move onto mission selection, rather than any limitation in terms of quest time. You spend the rest of the day engaged in some activities that would undoubtedly give the manager of this wing of offices conniptions. Once you’re done with that you collapse into your quarters, completely dead. You wake up the next day to a horde of pings from Niels. Apparently Elda signed on to the same drop mission as he did. You decide the best approach to this situation is a mediated meeting between the two. You meet the pair of them down in the Mess Hall, about an hour before they have to load into their cruiser for the drop. Niels is sitting next to you fidgeting nervously. Elda sits across from both of you, one of her eyebrows raised arcly. “Is there a reason why we’re here right now, Kostov?”“Y-yeah Ivan,” mutters Niels, glancing over at Elda. Kid’s still afraid of her. Less so, after she helped train him with the M-24. You doubt he would have come if not for that. “Why’re we here?”“Because,” you reply, cracking your knuckles, “There is untapped synergy. Niels, I think we should get Elda in on our little scheme. Her knowledge could prove immensely useful in maximizing personal profits.”Niels’ eyes bulge. “Ivan,” he hisses, “What are you doing man?”“Maximizing earning potential, Niels,” you answer before looking at Elda with an abnormally serious expression. “And to do that, we need Elda.”“What do you need me for?” inquires Elda, curiosity evident. “Hopefully nothing too moronic, although I don’t have high hopes.”>What will Ivan say?>Tell Elda the entire plan>Give a general gist>Write In
>>30131090You mean it keeps everyone who matters happy, and by everyone who matters, I mean ME AND ONLY ME, MUAHAHAHAHAHA!

>>30131156>give her the general gist of thingsWe're on a tight schedule here.
>>30131240Wait, what IS the plan? Are we essentially doing some corporate espionage on our own initiative to get stock tips, or are we illegally fucking with the security of stock exchanges in an effort to steal EVERYONE'S money outside the scope of the mission? This is kind of puzzling in terms of its legality.
>>30131156>Give a general gistlet's test the waters
>>30131156>Give a general gist>>30131240You didn't notice the poster name, did you?

>>30131299That'd probably be less insane than whatever awful trouble we could make for ourselves if we tried to hack public stock exchanges, the megacorps on Earth would put bounties on our heads to rival Dreads.
>>30131323Okay so we're telling Elda that we're using loot loopholes to try to do some fun raiding on the side and see what we can leverage, and we want her in since she's on the list for the drop team rather than running around behind her back.
>>30131156>>Write InConsidering Niels ran a sweeper and blocking software before he told us the first time I think talking about this in the middle of the Mess Hall with no security measures is a really terrible idea.

“Listen Elda,” you say, leaning forward conspiratorially, “Niels has a brilliant plan involving stock markets and some software. I think we could get very rich from it, but someone who understands the markets would make us even more rich. You interested?”“I’m sorry,” replies Elda, so nonplussed she forgot to insult you, “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”You are about to go into further detail, when Niels hushes you urgently. “Tsssh! Ivan! That was almost too much detail! Not in public!”“Right,” you respond, rubbing your temples. “Bad call on my part Niels. Good catch. You tell Elda what you consider wise.”Niels swallows. “And if I don’t, you will?”You grin. “Yup!”Niels sighs. “Okay. Elda. We’re going to leverage a set of skills and opportunities unique to our position synergistically to increase gains from investments in certain sector markets. This may not be entirely permissible vis a vis widely accepted standard operating procedures in the opportunity zone of interest. Long and short of it is we need to be careful and not blab too openly about it in public.”Elda frowns for a second before nodding. “Alright. We meet after the mission is done. Give me the full sitrep then.”Elda stands up, looking down at both of you. “I have a drop to prepare for. So do you Niels. Let’s get going.”Niels hurries after the sniper, shooting you an exasperated look. Kid needs to stop letting personal feelings get in the way of profit. Still, Elda’s on board now, or at least interested. Mission accomplished. You snort to yourself and tuck into your tray of tofu goop.

Personally I like Operation Dusk Horizon. It's basically a chance to rescue the man who had hired us which means that since we were on that mission it would look like we are here to finish the "job" in a way. Could lead to larger than normal payout.

I was thinking, why don't we buy shares in the companies which give us these attack packages? I mean, the corporations hiring us are doing so at considerable cost, so the objectives we are completing are likely to have a negative impact on the share price of the target company and a positive impact on the contracting company. After the completion of the mission, we wait for the media and market to uncover what has happened to the target company - after which the stock of our contracting company would likely rise.We then sell those shares and use a portion of the profits to buy a few (now significantly cheaper) shares in the former target company - with the idea that they will likely strike back against the corporation who hit them.
you could set up a strawpoll, Fall
>>30132864We could do that with a small amount of cash at the moment, but what we really ought to be doing is getting someone who knows stocks (Elda) and software (Neils) to build a program that tracks useful applications, or find a good one on the market for us to use.
>>30132916easier to samefag than FINAL DESTINATION style voting...
>>30132932if you're desperate enough that you'd get a proxy and fuck with strawpoll, this isn't gonna help much either
Holy tits, Fall Guy has a lot of players
Well its pretty clear that #3 won, and the 5 minute duplicate reply filter timer is over, so any votes now are very likely samefaggin
>>30132992>>30132932If he wants to avoid samefags, he should slightly narrow the post window to the time delay for not duplicate posts, which is like 4 minutes IIRC, not five.
>>30132997A lot of people lurk quests and don't bother posting any story posts, I think. When it's just a number for final destination posts, they crawl out of the woodwork.
>>30133027It's five.

You spend the rest of the day in the Range, trying your hand with the MPSE shotgun, with middling success. Thing isn’t nearly as much of a blind fire weapon at close range. The spread is too small to allow for wild aiming. Pity that it took you about five hours to figure it all out. The next day passes relatively quickly, with you finding various excuses to avoid dicking around with the battery schematics. Just not bored enough to sit down and work on it. Yet. Cy and Markos enable your procrastination further with an invite to the bar. You take them up on it gratefully. They are in a booth squished against the wall, away from the bright lights of the dance floor. Right. You sometimes forget that Markos cuts a rug with a butter knife. As in extremely poorly. As in, he’s a bad dancer. Somewhat exasperated at yourself, you sit down at the booth with your fellow rookies.“Hey guys. Mission?”“Yeah,” answers Cy as he picks at some peanuts bitterly. “Markos and I are going on a drop to deliver a fucking subpoena, if you can believe it. Apparently, this guy does not want to go to court at all.”You snort with laughter. Some of the shit you get hired for. “Really? Don’t they have better things they could spend their money on?”“You’d think,” responds Markos, “But not at all. According to Jack, this guy is a serial patent violator. They just want him gone, but not badly enough to kill him.”“Whatever, man,” mutters Cy, staring enviously at Markos’ beer. “All I know I can get some fucking drinks once this drop is done with.”You lean back, considering your two friends.>What will Ivan do?>Ask Cy about that thing he had for Ivan>Ask Markos for more details on the mission>Get Cy a drink, poor bastard

>>30133439I'm not buying it.And we don't need more people.
>>30133439What the fuck do we need Cy for? Elda's already a medic, do we need him to borrow 200 thousand credits or something?
>>30133480Cheapskate.
>>30133494Heavy gunner.I didn't realize that he's a medic, though. Been playing too much GTA V and Payday 2.
>>30133547One person at a time.
>>30133632NO, WE MUST DO ALL THE THINGS AT ONCE, HAVEN'T YOU SEEN THE PREVIOUS POSTS?!(Takes a breather)What other skills do you think might be useful for something like the heist mission? Even if we don't agree with WHO needs to come, we should have some idea of what skills we should bring along.
>>30133742One guy with Pickpocket, one guy with Set Trap, and 9 guys with Bluff.
“Alright Cy,” you say with a mock magnanimous tone, “Since Markos has probably been chewing your ear off about the Electrative plates-”Cy groans loudly and buries his head in the nook of his elbow.“-That’s a yes then. Well, I’ll be the nice guy and get you a drink. Pay me back once you’ve returned.”Cy looks up at you grinning broadly. “Aw shit. Thanks bro.”You grin. “No need to thank me yet,” you reply as you ping an order to the waitress. Cy turns away from you and begins rummaging around in his duffel bag. “Now, before you ask,” he says, rifling through his equipment, “Yes, I do have it for you.”“Ta Daaaa,” he announces, holding a long and ropey pair of things in front of your nose. “Here we go!”You pluck them gingerly from his hands, disgusted and slightly confused. Then it clicks. “Aw shit though. You’re serious right here?”Cy grins broadly at you. “Dead serious, just like Dreads. Some of his hair got caught on a strut after you blew him up. I snagged it after Clayton commed me to check the area. Figured you’d like it.”“Shit dude. I never thought I’d be so happy to see nasty ass Rasta scalp in my entire life.”Markos stares at the transaction, looking slightly ill. “I’m gonna need another drink,” he mutters.“Well our waitress is about to arrive, so nows your chance,” you answer. The waitress deposits a large craft beer in front of you, and a fizzing pink drink in front of Cy. As Markos makes his order, Cy takes an experimental sip. His face contorts into a look of disgust. “What the fuck?”“Shirley Temple. Virgin. In honor of you, Cy,” you respond, leering at him from across the table.Markos howls with laughter as Cy stares at you with a mixture of shock and amusement. “Why you little,” he growls, and surges across the table, knocking over both of your drinks.

A cherry rolls away from a booth in the corner of the Tipsy Constructionbot. In the booth, three men laugh as one spouts “Hostile Work Environment” between gales of mirth, his neck held in a play choke hold by a second. The third stands clear of the altercation, trying to record it on his e-glasses between bursts of giggling.Bob stares at the little red orb as he absently cleans a glass. "Fucking kids," he snorts, shaking his head.
>>30133804>We got a trophy nowHaha, that's awesome. We should get that shit mounted on our wall or some shit.
>>30133873Man, Dreads is gonna come back and take that shit from us at some point. I KNOW ITHe's like a Predator. Those damn locks detach and shit!
>>30133805I have no idea but for fucking sure there's gonna be a veteran in command unless by some miracle there isn't a policy not to let a team of all rookies go, and that veteran better be tolerant of our bullshit or otherwise occupied and not suspicious.Ivan should get an assault rifle and play short-range covering fire if necessary, and for sure he should l2grenades and l2explosives, those things aren't that far from tech.
>>30133941Paranoiacs, there's at least one in every quest.
Working on Dream Sequence now. Will take questions in mean time
>>30133952Take Out might fit the bill nicely
>>30134020We have little reason to trust him. In Cy's defense, his massive debt does leave him motivated to shut his trap.
>>30133993Just hit Page 10. New thread seems wise. I'll rearchive this one, start a new one once I finish first post of Dream SequenceFor the Record: I think Operation Bitter Oracle won the vote.

>>30133909Let's tie it on our belt like a hunting trophy.
>>30133993>Will take questions in mean timeDoes sound-damping technology exist? The only way Ivan is going to be able to get the drop on anyone is by cheating.
>>30134116And then there was an explosion and our trophy burned up.YAY.
>>30134126Even better than sound damping, how about cloaking tech?
>>30134126There are a variety of materials that muffle the sounds of their contact with other surfaces.>>30134152Yes, Infrared and Visual. But that's higher level stuff
>>30134152>cloaking techalso known as cover
>>30134139There's two locks, thank you very much. Plus, if we lose them both, we can just get another once Dreads comes back like we all know he is.We should bring it down to the labs, though. If he comes back, then we might as well find out what super secret rejuvenation genetic modifications he had that would get him to cheat death.
>>30134351Good idea. Do we have a safe to put this trophy in?
>>30134351Maybe Linda can help with that.
