It is the year 22XX and Humanity has reached the stars. Alas, even though they have attained the lofty goal of interstellar travel, mankind has yet to conquer it’s baser instincts.

Humanity is ruled by ultra-Corporations. Some own continents. Some own multiple worlds. But no matter who you are, everyone is a citizen-employee somewhere. The qualms that beset corporations of the past, copyright infringement, tech theft, still exist. If anything, they are amplified by the scale of the players.

Without government to turn to for legal recourse and separated by millions and billions of miles, corporations have turned to less savory solutions to resolve disputes. You are one of those solutions.

You are an elite mercenary, also known as a High Impact Public Representative, of the StrikeOut Company, a group of mercenaries who accept contracts and missions from the highest bidder. You are launched out of a spaceship in a drop pod filled with bright orange and highly toxic gel. You crash land into the target’s facilities, make a mess, do your job, and then get the hell out.

You are a Fall Guy. You are a Deniable Asset.

The static rebounds across the room, echoing in the cavernous expanse. You turn around, footfalls leaden clunks in the ocean of static. You thought you heard something through the incessant buzzing. You thought you heard a skittering hidden in the noise.

You look around, eyes unable to penetrate the blackness. Your eyes cross slightly. You can’t even see your nose. The static echoes, muffled by the hot, sticky air. You can’t even see your nose. You press your hand against your ear. “Clayton? Tran? Marlena? I’ve got a possible contact. Requesting support or confirmation.”

The buzzing only grows louder and longer, consuming your voice. “Clayton? Tran? Anyone? Does anyone co-”

A skittering sound. Yes. Yes, you heard it for sure this time, louder this time. You can’t figure out where. The clattering of something hard yet organic against the floor is distorted by the constant buzzing hum. Which direction? You look around, desperate for something, some sort of light, anything in this oppressive dark.

Skittering again. Louder still. Where is it coming from? It’s getting closer. Closer. But where? Where? Where?

You take a stabilizing breath, inhaling hot, humid air through your nostrils. The stench of rot. But different. Not decay. The smell of biology accelerated. You spin around and sniff the air. The stench is stronger this way.

Footfalls. Not your own.

Right, a side thing I was working on. This is a google doc that deals with governance in the DAQ-verse.

It's still a WIP, mostly because I feel like it isn't as clear as it could be. But anyway, here's something to look at for you folks who are less enthralled by Dream Sequences.

Your hand leaps down to your thigh, your arm jerking as you reach for your Model 223. Your fingers bounce against the grip before seizing upon it convulsively. Yanking the revolver out of it’s holster with a spastic motion, you squeeze the trigger.

The revolver bucks against your hand, and the crack of gunfire dispels the miasma of static. The muzzle flashes, flooding the room with light. You get a glimpse of the creature approaching you. Long stringy hair, gaping maw, emaciated figure, and grey skin. The flash does not fade as the creature bounces across the ground, it lingers in the air, a strange cloud of light suspended in the air. You swallow, not questioning why the burst of light refuses to fade, just happy it’s still there for you.

You take a few steps forward to get a better look at your kill. The face is still obscured. Crouching next to the small body, you flip the corpse over with the barrel of your gun.

A small girl looks up at you. Her face familiar. Skin no longer grey, but rather olive toned. Hair no longer stringy and sparse but full and long. Eyes no longer blind white platters but small. Still wide. Wide with shock and confusion.

Where have you seen that face before?

Something lands in front of you. It is a small something, too small for the echoing thud upon it’s landing. You reach out with trembling hands. You know what this is.

Tran and his daughter are still in the center fold, laughing and frolicking. The picture grows bigger and bigger, until your entire vision is a father carrying his daughter on his shoulders. And then the picture looks back at you.

You awaken, breathing hard. You lie back on your bed, once more wet with sweat, and rub your eyes for a few minutes, unwilling to rouse yourself. Eventually your alarm goes off, forcing you into action. You get up, and walk into the shower. You complete your morning ritual, and by the time you finish brushing your teeth, you’re calm enough to deal with the business of the day.

Sour Oracle is today. You need to choose your kit.

Simple enough reason. I've been looking back on missions and I've realized that when you think about how much stuff Ivan is running around with, things were getting a little ridiculous. It was a bad call on my part, so I'm trying to bring things under control in that regard.

I hope at some point to at least make some sort of encumbrance system, either for my own use or everyone's, to help formalize equipment limits.

We could always sell the pirate gun and buy an underbarrel grenade launcher for our AK-94.
>>
>>31811041
As long as we can still attach the chain bayonet I support this plan.
>>
>>31811041
Or we could look into combining the Pirate gun with a high tech gauntlet or something.

>>31810960
I think we should be worried about leaving anything behind in the drop pod, as we would need to get it back before we EVAC.
>>
>>31810894
It allowed us room to grow our plans and adaptability for various situations.

Now? We're stuck with one loadout for one specific purpose and we're fucked if we come across something that requires different thinking or gear.

This is a HUGE step backwards and a massive nerf right when Ivan is meant to be stronger than ever.

It makes no sense.
>>
>>31811041
I'd support that. Having that on our rig can save us more room. Two guns in one package.
>>
>>31810957
>>31810960
Looting is different, since it will be done after the action is done and Ivan can focus more on carrying a lot of shit, and less on being sleek and svelte while on the mission. The current load out allows for two guns (no ammo outside of what is already loaded) before things become a substantial problem.

>>31810980
Ach! No need to be quite so grim. When you look back on missions, I never really presented enough opportunities for Ivan to put his arsenal to full use anyway. If anything, this will help me craft the missions and work out scenarios and combat encounters.

Alright, So I think Sword and Board won. Writing.

>>
>>31811459
Heck, we should. Tranqs will be very useful.
>>
Alright, seems the loadout idea wasn't the best. Obviously there needs to be some refinements to be made.

The idea was to eliminate the fact that Ivan's been running into battle with a lot of "redundant" weapons, or ones that fulfill very similar roles within his arsenal. For example, due to his skill with handguns, the OMP Long Range is functionally equivalent to the AK-94. The AK-94 has better ranged potential once Ivan improves with ARs, but right now, they're very close to one another.

Obviously, this has opened up a whole new can of worms, one I had not initially predicted when presenting the option. So here, sticking with the loadout idea for now, but here's who is dropping with you, and what they are bringing.

>Marlena Redskies
Shotgun and grenade launcher. Has a pistol and combat knife too, but you probably won't see those getting much or any use.

>Maxim Bodrov
Rhino LMG, also has some airbursts and a whole lot of grenades. Wears extremely heavy armor. Not quite at the level of your Shield, but nearing that amount of protection

>Clayton Burnside
Rifleman with comm suite. Will be leader.
>>
>>31811482
Yeah, sword&board is definitely a good option.
>>
>>31811452
We snagged that in Capital Shock as loot. Here's the stats for it.

>Thunder Thump 9000: A retractable plate of piezoelectric ceramic transforms the kinetic energy from a punch into an electric shock, capable of disabling human combatants to electronic systems without EM protection depending on the force used.
>Unlimited Charges
>-2 Processing Power
>6,000 Credits
>Seismic Upgrade: Adds a battery pack to the system, allowing you to store electric energy. This enables the Knuckles to deliver concussive force. Can recharge by punching things while in electric mode and rerouting power back to the battery instead of outward.
>Charges: 10
>-3 Processing Power (in addition to the -2 of the base Thunder Thump 9000)
>Heavy Blow: Allows you stun BART operators, repeated blows can lead to concussions and internal damage to operators- 3 Charges
>Medium Blow: Can deliver instantly fatal blows through infantry body armor- 2 Charges
>Light Blow: Can deliver instantly fatal blows to unprotected humans- 1 Charge

Alright, Tranq gun seems to be getting a lot of mentions right now. Here's a really basic stat line for it.

>Navarro Something or other
>Low Power Gauss Gun: This Gauss gun is not meant for firing projectiles at lethal speed. Rather, it can fire a variety of darts. These range from tranquilizers to lethal toxins, to listening devices to anything else I or you the players can think of.
>Limited Ammo: 25 darts of any variety [SILENT]

Tranq darts are 20 credits each
Spy darts are 150 each and are reusable

OP, not to sound like an ass but are you doing ok over there? You seem really distracted tonight.
>>
You decide to go with your not-so-sword and not-so-board loadout. You figure that the CQC/defense focus will serve you well considering who you’re dropping with. BiodYne hasn’t been able to figure out too much about the group in question that Nirav Singh fucked off to after escaping from that lovely little horror show he created. They seem to be some sort of violent anti-genomics terrorist group, which strikes you as a bit odd. One, that they’d harbor a known geneticist even if he was on their side, and two, that they’d use genetic alterations to destroy a clinic. These people tend to be rather puritan in their outlook.

As you walk out of your room with your duffle bag full of gear, you go over what information BiodYne was able to dig up on the terrorist group harboring Singh. The name of the organization is The Black Lilly, and surprise surprise, they’re believed to have Martian backing. As with all things backed by Mars, the Black Lilly isn’t on a civilized world. Rather, they’re on one of those Anarcho-Corporatocracies. A planet called Keldor 5, where corporations are too busy undermining one another and engaging in all sorts of illegal nastiness to bother keeping martian undesirables and extremists out.

>>
Shit. Martian backed. Mars is basically a synonym for crazy. Singh might be willing to surrender, but the Lillies? Never. Not unless you somehow managed to subdue and restrain them first. you decide to make a brief detour to the Armory, where you pick up a Navarro GDDS-2, a dart thrower that attaches to your gauntlet. After paying for the cantrip and a bunch of darts, fifteen tranquilizers, five toxin, and five spy, for a grand total of 8212 credits, you hurry over to the cruiser.

You find Marlena and Maxim already there. The two are relatively quiet, especially when you remember that they’re supposed to be pretty good friends. Or at least that was the impression you had of them when you went to the bar with them. You walk up to the two mercs, your footsteps echoing conspicuously. Maxim glances down at you and nods, his head moving at a glacial pace. Marlena also bobs her head in your direction. After a few seconds hesitation, she walks up to you.

“Couldn’t let it go, yeah?”

We have about 11k in our account. Our mission fee is (with rank bonus) 12.5k before performance bonuses, at least I'm pretty sure it is. The aug costs what, 18k? I'm propossing we spend 2.5k now and get back from the OP with 20k+ in our account.

I think we'll be fine.

“Yeah. Fuckers deserve what’s coming to them. ‘Bout right that we’re the ones bringing it.”

Marlena nods and begins to walk alongside you. “I’m just looking forward to giving these hypocritical asswads a bit of karmic justice. Especially since we’re going to a C-A world.”

“Mmm,” you grunt, cocking your head and glancing over at Marlena.

Marlena winks. It is not a friendly or flirtatious wink. “No governing corp to enforce prissy humanitarian combat protocols. You ever seen a flare go off in someone’s ass before?”

“No,” you mutter, slightly… something at the thought.

“Well it’s a sight.”

“Alright,” you mutter, as you hurry up ahead. Talking to Marlena is a somewhat unsettling experience, and not because you disagree with her little revenge fantasies. The three of you enter the cryo bay in silence, the usual banter prior to a mission replaced with a leaden silence. You know what Marlena is thinking about, based on the vindictive smirk on her face. Maxim is unreadable. You lower yourself into the cryoberth, and watch as the lid slides shut.

You awake once more, your usual nausea upon reviving form cryo almost entirely non-existent. Your stomach isn’t trying to rebel against your esophagus in it’s quest to invert itself. Rather, it has settled in a pit in your abdomen, a heavy ball of anticipation and fury. Not your usual fury either. A sort of cold, vindictive fury. You clamber out of your cryoberth and immediately get to work sliding on your armor plates and preparing your weapons. You glance up and notice that Clayton has joine the three of you in the cryobay. You give him a short nod. Clayton nods back at you, his usual camaraderie replaced with a steely look, his jaw bunched up like cables.
>>
The four of you prepare in silence before eventually heading out to the briefing room. The four of you keep to yourselves on the walk to the briefing room. It’s rather creepy, just walking through a spaceship corridor with naught but the echoes of other’s footsteps for company.

Eventually the four of you arrive at the briefing room. There are donuts and coffee laid out on the table. Despite your grim mood, you can’t help but note that Svenja would probably like to be here. The thought of your advisor scarfing down donuts while mercs plotted a vengeance mission clears some of the clouds away from your mind. Rather suddenly, the door opens and the woman who briefed you on Bitter Prophet steps into the room. Her expression is different from the one she bore last time she spoke with you. No longer anxious or worried, just tense yet somehow also dull. The woman glances around the room, her eyes only briefly sparking with interest as she recognizes some of the mercs from last time. “I see I’m not the only person who came back for this.”

You, Clayton, and Marlena all make affirmative noises. Maxim merely grunts.

“Well then, I think your mission dossiers were quite clear. I made sure that you lot were going into the mission knowing as much as you possibly could. That said, I think it might be faster if you asked me any questions you had. I will attempt to answer them to the best of my ability.”

“What sort of opposition can we expect to encounter,” you ask, “how many hostiles, how will they be armed, what level of training, that sort of thing.”

Martha Sirra nods and pushes her e-glasses up. “Yes. We’re not sure of the exact number of Black Lilly combatants to expect in the facility, but we believe it to be more than twenty. The members of Black Lilly are receiving material support and training from an outside entity. Considering their political bent and group history, we suspect a Martian connection. We have been monitoring their activities closely, and we believe that their weaponry is primarily still conventional firearms, based on surveillance images that suggest that large crates of ammunition have entered the facility.”

Clayton nods, and looks like he is about to speak when Martha raises a finger. “There is one potential complicating factor. A group of mercenaries, no known name, arrived on Keldor 5 a few months ago. We have no evidence of their group engaging in any activity with the planetary corporations. All things considered, we have reason to believe that they might have provided and may still be providing training and support to the Black Lilly.”

Clayton crosses his arms and frowns. “I was going to ask about civilians in the AO, but these mercenaries might be a more pressing concern. Anything we know about them?”

“Well, there shouldn’t be any civilians in the AO,” replies Martha, “The Black Lilly has holed themselves up in a storage facility. The area has been abandoned after the Corp that owned it went under. There is always a risk that squatters might get in the way, but we have reason to believe that the Black Lilly probably drove them off. As for the mercenaries, we have positively identified one of them as Frank Dallas.”
>>
>>31813216
Clay?
>>
Both Maxim and Clayton make noises of irritation mixed with dismay. You and Marlena glance over at the pair of them. Clayton takes it upon himself to explain. “Listen, Frank Dallas is a known actor in our line of work. The man is a force multiplier. More often than not he helps train insurrectionists to cause domestic problems for a Corp. Freelancer, not a part of any single organization. Does tend to travel around with the same few mercs though.”

Martha nods. “That is about as much as we were able to ascertain from our own investigations.”

Marlena speaks up now. “Alright then. I could throw this Dallas guy to the rust storms. What I want to know is where that Singh bastard is holed up.”

Martha nods once more, her eyes narrowing. “We aren’t entirely sure. We are certain he is within the converted warehouse, but his exact location is a mystery. Although, since external surveillance didn’t reveal his position to us, we assume he’s in the interior. The building itself seems to have shielding from our sensors. We were unable to acquire a map of the interior for you.”
>>
Maxim makes a sort of “tching” sound. “Are these not buildings with standardized layouts?”

“Yes,” replies Martha slowly, “But we are positive Black Lilly has altered the interior layout since taking it over. Most likely with shipping containers.”

“Very well,” replies Clayton. “Since we can’t be assured of Singh’s location and hidden exits, we need to hit hard and fast. Quickly sweep the building, preferably from opposite sides. If at all possible, I want to be paired up with Ivan, Maxim and Marlena, you two should work together. I think we can afford to split up, since these terrorists won’t be anywhere near our level of competence. The important thing is, we keep Singh and his little friends from escaping. Frank Dallas and his mates are strictly secondary to this objective.”

“Is there anything more you can tell me about this Frank Dallas guy,” you ask the room at large.

Clayton cracks his knuckles. “Well Dallas is a skilled combatant, but he’s no Dreads. What he excels at is training civilians up to the point where they will be a major pain in the ass for corporations. He’s also a damned good escape artist. But he’s more of a soft-power sort of individual. I’d say he’s roughly as skilled as an omicron rank in the field.”

“Alright then,” you say, pleased to hear you won’t be going up against some sort of legendary opponent here.

“Well, if that’s everything,” says Martha, “I wish you all well on your drop.”

The four of you file out of the briefing room, with you taking the rear. When you’re sure everyone is out, you double back and walk up to Martha. “Hey,” you say, scuffing your boot against the ground, “Would you happen to know anything about what happened with Valla Greentree?”

Martha Sirra stares at you for a few seconds. “Yes. She’s alive. She has been out of therapy for two weeks now. We’re currently giving her psychological counseling.”

“Oh. Okay. That’s better than I expected.”

Martha nods. “Yes,” suddenly her eyes narrow. “You. You were the one I asked to find Barry.”

You wince, “I’m sorry abou-”

“No need,” Martha replies, coldly waving your apology away. “It didn’t matter. They found him anyway. Just… the contract says to bring Singh in alive. It never said intact.”

Before you can reply, Martha busies herself with some papers once more. She glances up at you, expression dull once more. “Your squadmates are preparing to drop you know. You should hurry.”
>>
You quickly leave the briefing room and join your squadmates in the drop zone. Clayton goes over his plan once more. “Me and Ivan, Marlena and Maxim. We sweep from opposite sides. Take Singh alive. Any Black Lilly operative we capture, we get compensated. Frank Dallas is not our primary objective. In the likely event that he and his soldiers retreat from combat, do not pursue. Any questions?”

You all respond in the negative and clamber into your pods.

After a few minutes of uncomfortable waiting, the pods fire, and you begin your high speed descent.

The drop to the Black Lilly base is completely uneventful compared to your last drop to Reyumbi. Once more, you realize how fortunate it is that most of your targets don’t have missile and drop pod interception capabilities. Aside from a mass of warm air and the usual shakes, the ride is about as pleasant as one can expect.

Could use more mimosa though. And less topological neurotoxin.

Eventually your drop pod touches down, from the fact that you disappeared off of your already sparse mini map, you assume that you’ve landed inside the building. Clayton immediately opens up a comm-link to you. “Alright Kostov. My pod cameras are picking up a few individuals immediately outside of our two pods. there are two about four meters directly ahead of you, and another closer to my pod. Unless Frank does acting lessons too now, I think they’re a bit overwhelmed by our appearance. We deploy in five…”

You active the release of your drop pod door with relish, a delightfully devious plan taking shape. You step into the cloud of steam and gas, Navarro at the ready, tranq loaded. After quickly scanning the area, you find the two combatants that Clayton saw outside of your pod. Both are lying on the ground, apparently very badly shell shocked at the arrival of a ten foot tall metal casket full of toxic goo and vengeful mercenary. Your first shot with the Navarro hits the insurrectionist in the thigh, not quite the nut shot you were hoping for. Somewhat disappointed by the near miss, you decide to indulge your more rampage-y instincts with the other Black Lilly member. You easily hoist the terrorist into the air, a simple feat for one as strong as you.

Unfortunately however, aiming the damn bastard is still a feat slightly beyond you. You fling the terrorist pod-wards with a roar of “Into the Goo, into the Goo!”

Rather than land in the puddle of goo or the large swamp of the stuff in the passenger compartment however, the terrorist bounces off of the struts around the opening, completely clearing the pool of goo and landing a few meters away from the opening. Cursing to yourself, you stomp up to the terrorist and give him a few helpful kicks into the puddle of the orange stuff.

Somehow you imagined that his violent convulsions would be more amusing and satisfying, and less disturbing and unsettling. Still, you stand over the extremist has he spends his last few seconds of life making a pretty true attempt at mimicking Markos on the dance floor.

You turn away from the body just as it begins to lie still. And into the helmeted head of one Clayton Burnside.

“You mind telling me what the fuck that was, mate?”

Oh he is pisssssssssed.

“Fuck, I dunno. I thought it would make me feel a bit better about what those fuckers did to the kids.”

Clayton stares at you. You continue speaking, your voice bitter. “It didn’t. Apologies sir, it won’t happen again.”

Clayton stares at you for a few seconds longer and sighs, shaking his head. “Listen Kostov. I can understand where you’re coming from. But we don’t know how deep these Black Lilly flunkies were in the clinic. If you want to throw anyone in the goo, throw Singh. Except don’t, because that’ll probably cost us quite a few credits.

“Singh’s a monster Kostov. But these people, they could very easily be deluded. I was rather hoping you would show more restraint. I already know I’ll have quite a full report from Marlena’s antics. Don’t you make things worse.”

“Sir, my apologies sir,” you reply, your vindictive fury not gone, but certainly deflated. “I’ll keep my shit in order.”

“See that you do,” Clayton responds, gesturing you forward. “Now c’mon. We’ve got a building to clear and we can only spend so much time whinging over how we offed some bastard.”

You and Clayton run up to a door built into a wall made of shipping crates. The warehouse rather reminds you of that one in Capital Shock, albeit less open. You glance through the impromptu door before sticking your forearm out.
>>
Rolled 5, 2, 2 = 9

>>31815484
But he's on a roll
>>
“What’re you doing mate,” asks Clayton exasperatedly.

“Gathering intel,” you mutter in response, “Gimme a moment.”

You fire the Navarro, the dart flying through the air and landing in the center of the room utterly silently. You access the camera and look around. The angle is a bit odd, a super low one, but you can see a group of five Black Lilly members assembled behind various crates and other forms of cover. They’re all facing the entrance you and Clayton are standing behind, various guns and improvised explosives on hand. You share the video feed with Clayton.

“Aw shit. They’ve got White Light.”

“White Light?”

“One of Dallas’ signature homemade grenades. Magnesium and a gelling agent, burns through all tier one armors and blinds sensors too. That is about as lethal as it gets.”

“So what do we do?”

“Well, outside of the White Light, they don’t have anything that can get past your shield. I think if we lead with a flashbang, you can close the distance and draw fire. I’ll provide overwatch and ensure White Light doesn’t leave their hands. We need to take advantage of the element of surprise as much as possible. So long as the White Light is dealt with, they shouldn’t provide too much of a threat.”

>Any problems or alterations?
>>

Chuck a flash bang first?

>>31815591

Black Lillies are split into three groups. Two groups of two that are behind crates that are directly ahead of the entrance. There is two crate in between them to prevent a single frag grenade from taking all four of them out.

The fifth is much further to the left, behind another crate. He's probably guarding the door to the next room.

“Sounds like a plan sir,” you say, pulling out your shield and OMP. “I suppose you’ll be leading with the flash?”

“You got it, mate,” replies Clayton, yanking the pin and tossing the grenade into the room. You hear some shouts of alarm before your helmet’s sound filters activate. “GO!”

You charge forward, barrelling into the room. The Black Lilly furthest to the left seems to have escaped the worst of the flashbang, and he raises his assault rifle to his shoulder. You react on instinct, which never bodes well for your aim. You turn your torso slightly and depress the trigger of your OMP. The gun roars as it unleashes a barrage of bullets at the insurrectionist. The recoil is negligible against your enhanced muscles. Unfortunately, your aim is pretty badly disrupted by the fact that you’re sprinting into the room, and you end up missing most of your shots, although a lucky one does end up clipping him in the shoulder. The Black Lilly spins around, clutching his shoulder in pain. You turn back to face the Black Lillies ahead of you, just in time to feel something crash against your shoulder.

It’s hot.

“Ivan!”

You drop your OMP, hand rising up to the rapidly heating shoulder pad with practiced ease and speed. Somehow despite the fact that in the next two seconds your ceramic armor and kevlar will start melting onto your skin you remain oddly calm. Your hands are steady as they activate the release clamps of the shoulder pad. The ceramic armor pops off into your hand. Somehow your fingers manage to avoid brushing the gelled magnesium.

“Hey asshole,” you shout, facing the offending Black Lilly, “I’ve got a return to make!”

You fling the flaming shoulder pad at the Black Lilly. The piece of armor hits the Black Lilly squarely in the chest. The combatant collapses to the ground, screaming in agony as the gelled magnesium does it’s grim work on the Lilly. The room smells like overcooked meat.

You’re grateful your helmet has air scrubbers. The rest of the Black Lillies take a few steps back, and the one who was standing next to the Lilly currently immolating attempts to break out. Clayton brings them down with a quick burst from his rifle.

You figure that even if these people are a bunch of Martian backed loonies, they still don’t want you shatter a glass of White Light on their asses and barbeque them. You put your OMP back and draw your tomahawk. You activate the seismic head, the blade thrumming in the room. You activate the loudspeakers built into your helmet. “This is your first and final warning. Stand down and submit to tranquilization. We are authorized to employ exotic applications of lethal force.”

Both of the Black Lillies refuse to stand down, instead raising their weapons, a shotgun and a jar of White Light, and prepare to engage you. You leap over the steel crate, enhanced muscles allowing you to close the gap between yourself and the Lilly bearing the White Light in the span of a half second. The Lilly looks up at you. Their eyes only just manage to close in a blink of surprise as your tomahawk strikes home. The seismic head activates, and red splatters across the area. You slowly turn to face the shotgun bearing Lilly, her face covered in the viscera of her compatriot.

The shotgun clatters to the ground, bouncing against the floor of the room a few times before finally lying still.

“Good call,” you snarl as your tranq her.

“Get her away from the barbie,” advises Clayton as you cuff the only survivor of their little group of five, “and let’s get going.”

Tier one refers to the lowest rank of technology. Kevlar, ceramic plates, firearms based on chemical explosions.

Tier 2 is railguns and gauss guns, weapons that use magnetism to propel projectiles. Armor is CARBON NANOTUBES and assorted things. Power armor becomes more viable at this stage, although certainly not required.

Tier 3 is directed energy weapons. This is the point where I kiss any attempt at realism good bye and shit just gets wonky,

FG, in the corporate owned future that you've created, is there any form of organization that polices the megacorps, like United Nations Peacekeeping Forces, or independent Pinkerton-esque investigation branch?

In your time doing this quest, have you ever felt like you've learned anything about or from your players?

About my players? Well they can be a little hard to predict, but I feel like I've managed to figure out roughly which buttons to push. Hint: Lewd.

From my players? A lot actually. I've gotten help on a lot of subjects from my players that I was not knowledgeable about, from materials science to computer... stuff, to Italian profanity, to military equipment.

Not really. The closest is QED Inc, and they're still a corporation. There is no non-profit organization that has overarching authority.
