All manner of exotic plants, and trees and cats and reptiles are on display, you love it here, if only the whole city was like this, above you the wide open sky beckons.

And the birds! Tiny hummingbirds, birds with giant beaks, huge wading birds. Noticing your fascination the advisors guiding you offer you a special treat. They hurry off as you stand with your Aunt and her two guards.

You have to fly with it! You launch yourself up into the air, ignoring your aunts cry of alarm. You’re not stupid, you know she doesn’t want you to get far away but the bad old men are on the ground, and you’re in the air.

You chase the firebird up into the air and over the gardens, faster it flies and you circle one another as you rise, swooping around the palace towers and gliding over hot rooftops, the hot thermals lifting you into the air.

It turns towards you and puffs out its chest, displaying all its feathers, like its trying to impress you.

It then gives an eagle-like cry and you copy it, crying out in greeting. It turns and circles around you, a single long feather falling from its gloriously long tail.

You catch it, it’s like a flame in the shape of a feather, warm but doesn’t burn you. You hear a piercing whistle, and the firebird is off. You give chase.

Just as you are about to catch it the firebird dives down into a part of the palace you’ve not seen, a courtyard half-covered with a cloth canopy. This must be where it makes its nest.

He holds up a red gemstone that has an eerie light in it, the other old men starts chanting and the one with the gem says “Look into the light child, see how it fascinates, see its sparkle.”

Can't we have female protagonists without trying to ship them with other women? Is that so hard to ask? Even in quests where the QM straight up says that the female MC is straight, people have hard time letting it go.

People considered it and decided it was unlikely precisely because there was an option to specifically pursue some dwarves for sex, which was completely ignored. As such we assumed QM realized people didn't want dwarf sex. People voted to have a fun bard-off, not to get pissed and go home with anyone.

It was a bar, the dwarves in question was on the other side of it and entirely not connected to the situation in the end, there was a vote to go over to them. MC was hanging out with a couple of catgirls and was drinking, as mentioned there was an option to look for company for the night which was unanimously ignored, then there was a vote to show up the Dwarf bard playing there with our amazing musical skills, anons voted to do so since it sounded fun, MC ended up sleeping with bard with no more votes in-between, people got pissed.

You don't just take away the control of the MC and have them sleep around. You just don't. No matter how horny or drunk you think the MC is. Especially when nobody wants it. It is a sure way to start a shitstorm and get bad reputation as a QM

Oh and for clarification, the vote to look for sex was before the singing vote, so it wasn't the QM thinking 'people want to fuck, but they want to sing more'. It was blatantly obvious people weren't looking for any sex, and doubly so with a dwarf.

And again, if the option to fuck dwarves wasn't there people might have been wary, but if you have an option to explicitly fuck someone, you're gonna assume that another option later that doesn't seem related to sex or companionship in the slightest doesn't, in fact, land you in bed with someone.
