You scratch your head. This doesn't make much sense. "I might be biased, considering how things turned out for us, but if somebody who can pull off a Kamui shows up, wouldn't it make more sense for the other Satsuki to try and recruit her as an ally?"

"Lady Satsuki did mention something about Matoi being "a valuable asset" earlier.", Inumuta remarks.

"...She has mentioned that while talking to me, yes.", Satsuki says. You know that look. She has it figured out, and she doesn't like it.

"Any ideas, Satsuki?", you ask.

"We'll talk in private.", she answers telepathically, and shakes her head. Seems it's not something she wants those two to hear.

"Well, anyway..." You turn to Nonon and Inumuta again. "What's the most recent major event over here? Trying to get a grasp on the timeframe."

"Well, that would be...", Inumuta starts.

"Monkey getting schooled by the transfer student, then sewing his eyes shut in shame, and returning the favor. It was stupid, but an amusing spectacle.", Nonon cuts him off.

"There's that, I suppose.", he concedes.

"Huh. Similar thing happened in our timeline, too, a while back. I schooled him on both occasions, though." You chuckle.

"I probably shouldn't be saying this, but in the end, she was right.", Inumuta remarks. "Lady Satsuki hasn't said anything about it, so I assume she recognizes that."

"Good, because I'm tired as hell. You don't travel to another world every day, and that wasn't even the most exhausting part."

You get up from the couch, and Satsuki follows suit. You can't help but notice that Nonon's face is turning red. She still doesn't believe you?

You could make some more jokes, but Satsuki probably won't like that. That aside, from what she said earlier, it appears that she feels her relationship with the other Satsuki is distant. Maybe you could reassure her somehow?

A large plush animal comes flying towards your face. You easily dodge it, only to be smacked over the head with it by Satsuki, who caught the toy after you evaded it.

"Oh, come on, I was just kidding."

"And that was our review of your performance." Satsuki smirks, and returns the plush toy to Nonon. "Is anything happening tomorrow that we should be aware of?"

"Nothing I can think of, no.", Nonon answers.

"Nothing on the schedule, either.", Inumuta adds. "Lady Satsuki will probably want to discuss the Matoi Ryuuko situation with you, though."

"The sentiment is mutual.", Satsuki says.

You yawn again. "Hopefully tomorrow will be less crazy than today. I'm all for excitement, but that was not a healthy dose."

The two of you finally head towards the guest room. While you do head almost straight to bed, which is thankfully wide enough to accommodate both of you, you don't intend to sleep just yet.

"So, by talking in private, you meant like this?", you ask Satsuki telepathically.

"Yes. There's no guarantee they're not spying on us."

"It looked like you know what the other you is up to regarding the other me. Care to share?"

"The way I see it, she's taking advantage of the situation by pitting the other Ryuuko against her academy. That way, she has somebody weeding out the weak from her ranks, all the while training the other you. It's as ingenious as it is unethical."

"If you put it that way, it sounds like it, yeah. Why would she do that, though? As I've said before, wouldn't it be a lot simpler to just tell the other me what she wants to know and recruit her?"

"I believe the problem lies in the fact the other Satsuki simply doesn't believe in such methods. She sees people as tools to use, just like our mother."

"That's fucked up. We really need to talk some sense into her."

"Interesting. And you say another Satsuki was visible on cameras in a different spot at the same time."

"Yes. She was in the Student Council chambers at the same time the fight took place." Hououmaru displays the recording in question.

This is getting really intriguing. "And what of Matoi Ryuuko and her Kamui? The one that went berserk, that is?"

"Her status is unknown. Matoi Ryuuko does not show up on any camera footage afterwards, nor does anything that would suggest her current status."

"Thank you for bringing this to my attention, Hououmaru. I will have to make a call to Satsuki, and invite her over for a talk. Her new friends as well, if possible. That's all for now."

"Understood, Lady Ragyou."

This indeed is interesting. How did it happen, though, and what does it mean? Most importantly, how can you take advantage of it? Oh well. Answers to those questions will reveal themselves in time, you're sure.

You glance at the changes. It's basically a combination of Whirlwind and Dragon Skin. This can do some damage.

"Cool, but... why is it always dragons?"

"Well, anyway, let's do this!"

You charge at the orange blob, intending to cut your way through it. As you close in, a hand holding a sword emerges from it, and blocks your advance. You fly back, watching as Ragyou emerges from between the fibers.

"Ragyou?! But, you went after Satsuki!"

She smirks. "Oh, Ryuuko. Did you think Nui came up with that multiplication trick by herself? I prefer to put quality before quantity, however. Haute couture, if you will."

Crap. She has two swords, like the original. That means she can cause real damage. You need to be careful here.

Suddenly, you notice that the Original Life Fiber is moving. Shouldn't Satsuki be keeping the other Ragyou busy? Wait, nothing happened to her, right? No, you would feel it.

Distracted by your thoughts, you almost fail to notice the clone trying to plunge both of its blades in your stomach. You swiftly move aside.

You sigh in relief. "...That was way closer than I would've liked."

"Are you worried about something, Ryuuko?", Ragyou asks with a grin. "That you and your sister are getting fooled, perhaps?"

What? You suddenly notice some flashes of light behind the clone you're fighting. It's... Satsuki and another Ragyou!

"What the hell?!"

"Ryuuko, look at the Original Life Fiber!", Senketsu says. "There's another Ragyou there!"

Oh, so that's how it is. She made two copies of herself, and used the time gained to move past you!

Only for a moment, however. You can think so much faster, perceive so much more, in greater detail. It's amazing.

You'll have to relish the feeling later. The two clones are closing in. They're coming from both directions, ready to attack.

Now that you look at them, they look so sluggish.

Assigning one body to each clone, you move in to attack. Processing the movements of two bodies in combat is surprisingly easy and smooth. This time, Ragyou's clones are in the defensive. They can't think fast enough to respond to your moves properly.

"Is that all you've got? You seemed stronger just a moment ago.", you ask. Oops, you said that through both bodies simultaneously.

Both clones' eyes widen.

"What... is this?", one of them asks.

"Something the real you should've studied more carefully. Good thing for me that she didn't."

Exploiting their shock, you stab the clones with two of your blades each, and turn them around so that their backs are facing each other. There's no blood. Figures, since they're just pieces of cloth.

Right before you cut them in half, both copies of Ragyou smirk.

"To think this connection of yours goes this far.", one of them says.

"La vie est juste drôle.", the other adds.

Upon getting split in two, they both explode into Life Fibers, which are promptly absorbed by your Kamui.

"Ryuuko, Satsuki, what is going on? Are you alright?", Senketsu asks.

"Your behavior is worrying.", Junketsu says.

Just as you're about to answer, a familiar, unpleasant feeling returns. You're losing the connection. You concentrate in an effort to make it as gentle as possible.

You open your eyes, and shake your head. One pair of eyes and one body again. Thought processes back to normal. You're pretty exhausted, though.

"You alright, Satsuki?", you ask.

"...Yes. It appears this is not a state we can maintain for long."

"Shame about that. It was nice, and useful."

"Indeed. Senketsu, Junketsu, to answer your questions, our minds were temporarily... joined. We're back to normal now, however."

"...Let's stop here before my thinking fibers start to hurt.", Senketsu says.

"I'll have to concur.", Junketsu adds.

"Anyway, we need to catch up to the real Ragyou!", you remind.

You both set your feet down on the Original Life Fiber, in front of Ragyou. This seems to irritate her.

"You will pay for what you've done, Ragyou!", Satsuki exclaims. "We will not let you cause any more harm, either!"

"I don't think so. I believe I will need to harm some more people... STARTING WITH YOU!" Ragyou loses her temper, and charges at you, both swords raised.

You and Satsuki ready yourselves, and prepare to block. However, a hulking figure, with a smaller figure on its shoulder, appears out of nowhere, obscuring your sight.

"The World!"

"Ego Burst!"

Gamagoori and Mako? They popped into existence, blocking Ragyou's attack.

"What is this nonsense?!", Ragyou yells.

Suddenly, another person appears. Gamagoori and Mako move aside, and a blur of green closes in on Ragyou.

"Wondrous Enlightenment!"

He strikes at the utterly confused Ragyou, throwing her off balance.

"Final Symphony!"

A wave of ear-shattering sound hits Ragyou directly, stunning her even further. As she stumbles back, a blue spider web-like net plasters her to the Original Life Fiber's surface.

"Truth Determination!"

The Four Devas (plus one) gather in front of you, and take a bow. They're all wearing their new uniforms, which are all kinds of skimpy, kind of like Kamui. They look cool, regardless.

"Lady Satsuki, Lady Ryuuko.", Gamagoori says.

"Sorry we're late.", Sanageyama adds.

"No, your timing was impeccable.", Satsuki answers.

"What are you guys, Super Sentai?" You chuckle.

If you ignore it, they'll probably eventually kick the door down. You untangle yourself from Satsuki's clasp, and reluctantly get up. A pang of anxiety flashes through her face, but she remains asleep. What's up with her today?

Regardless, you head straight towards the door, and open it. On the other side of it is Gamagoori.

"Put some clothes on."

You glance down. You're wearing only your bra and panties, as that's what you were sleeping in.

"...You came here just to tell me that?"

"No. Lady Satsuki is expecting both of you. She says it's urgent."

"Fine, give us a moment.", you say, and close the door without waiting for a response.

Ignoring Gamagoori's muffled, angered response, you head back to the bedroom to check on Satsuki. She's only waking up now!

"...Good morning, Ryuuko.", she says drowsily.

"What's up with you today, Satsuki?", you ask. "Gamagoori has been banging on our door for a good while, and all the while you were sleeping like a rock! I thought you like to get up ridiculously early?"

She looks to the side, embarassed. "...I'm sorry. I suppose being able to sleep like this, with no looming threat present at all times has spoiled me a bit. Did Gamagoori need something from us?"

"Hey, no need to apologize. Nice to see you're capable of sleeping in like a normal person." You chuckle. "He said the other Satsuki wants to talk to us urgently. I guess we should hurry up."

The two of you start quickly preparing to head out. Problem is, you haven't planned for interdimensional travel, and didn't pack spare underwear. Wearing the same set again would be pretty gross, and you don't have the time to wash it.

Curious, you check the wardrobe in the bedroom. What you see inside sends a chill down your spine.

Having finished all preparations, you head to the tower's main room, where the other Satsuki is waiting for you, along with her Devas. Struggling with the urge to ask her about the underwear, you manage to stay quiet, and listen to what she has to say.

"I have received a call from Kiryuuin Ragyou.", she says. Well, isn't that a great start. "She wants me, as well as my "new friends" to come over for a talk, as soon as possible."

"And by "new friends", she means...", Satsuki starts.

"The two of you, yes.", the other Satsuki finishes.

"She found out about us? How?", you ask.

"While I was erasing camera footage from the courtyard yesterday, I've noticed external access to said footage. Before I deleted it all, they've managed to recover a fragment.", Inumuta explains. "My apologies, Lady Satsuki."

"I doubt yesterday's events would've gone unnoticed by Ragyou, even if you did manage to erase all the footage, Inumuta.", the other Satsuki says.

You put on a weak grin. "...So, it's our fault?"

"Let's not debate on whose fault it is. None of us expected any of this to happen, to begin with. My question is, will you answer the invitation?"

Eventually the helicopter arrives at the massive building's roof. It appears this timeline has a Hououmaru, as well. This one also is Ragyou's personal assistant.

"Lady Satsuki. Lady Ragyou is waiting for you in her office. And..." She looks at the two of you. She's clearly intrigued. "You, as well."

You follow her to the office, where Ragyou indeed is waiting. This one looks the same as the one you remember, and gives off the exact same vibe.

Barely acknowledging the other Satsuki's presence, she gives you and your sister a long, piercing gaze.

"Hmm. A no-nonsense approach to fashion. Not my thing, but I can respect it."

"Thank you, ma'am.", you both say. This particular Ragyou isn't your mother, and you specifically shouldn't call her that, anyway.

"This is most fascinating. I can tell on the first glance that you're different people than the Kiryuuin Satsuki and Matoi Ryuuko I know. Though, I barely know the other one to begin with. We have a lot to talk about. But first, a more local matter." She turns to the other Satsuki. "Satsuki, do you mind telling me about the incident with Kamui Senketsu?"

There's not much to doubt here. You kill Ragyou, and then you can wait for Inumuta to come up with something to get you home all you want, with no pressing matters to attend to.

In the meantime, you could help this world's Ryuuko and Satsuki become proper sisters, not hateful rivals. You feel a tiny bit of doubt, but that's a given. You missed the chance to kill your world's Ragyou at the festival. Maybe you could make up for it with a positive change in this one?

The other Satsuki's eyes widen, but only for a brief moment. As if to make sure, she rapidly plunges her Bakuzan straight through Ragyou's heart. You all wait in deathly silence, but nothing happens. Thankfully, Hououmaru has left the room beforehand.

"You should have warned me, but... thank you. It's finally over.", the other Satsuki finally says.

You and Satsuki shake the blood off your swords, and sheathe them.

"You can consider that an apology for what happened yesterday.", you say.

"What will you do now?", Satsuki asks.

"Live.", the other Satsuki answers.

She attempts to pull out her sword from Ragyou's chest... only to find out that she can't.

"Oh... you truly will live, my daughter... born anew...", Ragyou's severed head chokes out. "It's your turn... now..."

With that, a staggering wave of energy is shot out towards you from the other Satsuki. Can you really not do anything?

"Ryuuko.", Satsuki says. "We can't do anything right now. We need to regroup. Let's go."

However, the threads vanish moments before you can hit them, along with Ragyou's body. Your swords collide with Bakuzan. You slowly glance to the side. A pair of red, glowing eyes meets yours, causing your whole body to stiffen in fear.

"You did this."

A powerful sweep sends you flying back. By the time you fly straight through the window, everything goes dark.

You immediately activate Junketsu, and jump through the window after your sister, without giving the other you a second glance.

You never thought the tone of a situation can be completely turned around in a matter of moments. Not even the festival was like this.

You manage to catch up to Ryuuko, and interrupt her fall by catching her. She's out cold.

Honnouji Academy will have to be your stronghold now. The Devas need to know what happened, whatever their reaction to it might be. You also have to ensure the safety of the other Ryuuko, who is still recovering.

You depart in Honnouji Academy's direction, at the highest speed carrying Ryuuko allows you. You don't know what the other you will do, but judging by her initial reaction, you need to be ready for anything. Time is of the essence right now.

As you silently fly towards the academy, Ryuuko slowly opens her eyes. She looks at you, and immediately starts crying.

"We fucked up, Satsuki. And it's all my fault."

You stop, and turn your carry into a mid-air hug. "It really isn't, Ryuuko. You wanted to spare this world the same suffering we had to go through. We couldn't have possibly predicted this was going to happen."

"...We have to fix it.", she says, sobbing. "We ruined the other Satsuki's life. We have to make it right."

You open your eyes. The first thing you see is a big shard of glass on the floor. You move closer to it. Glowing red eyes look at you, a glittering rainbow of hair surrounding them.

"NO!"

You smash the shard with your fist, cracking the floor in the process. Tiny bits of glass dig into your skin, piercing it. The pain is real. You raise your hand to examine it. It's bleeding quite a bit. Suddenly, the shards pop out of your skin one after another, dropping to the floor. After a couple seconds, the wound heals, leaving nothing to indicate it was ever there.

This is what you are now. The monster you strived to kill, the monster you feared of becoming. Both your ambition, and your fears have come true. What now?

The Heirloom. With its power, you have also received knowledge about it. In some years, it's going to kill you. It doesn't matter if you'll raise an heir to transfer it to or not. Both scenarios end in your death. What you didn't know before, is that Ragyou strived for a third option.

Suddenly, the doors to the office swing open, and Hououmaru rushes in.

"Lady... Satsuki?" She freezes in her tracks. "Where is Lady Ragyou?"

You rise to your feet. Your mother was right. It's your turn now.

"My mother is dead. Our guests murdered her.", you say. "As heir to both the Kiryuuin fortune and this company, I intend to continue what she's started."

Hououmaru's eyes widen as she processes the information. After a moment, she bows. "Understood, Lady Satsuki. I will be honored to continue my duties by your side."

"Very good. First, call somebody to clean up this mess. I think I'll need a haircut, as well."
