As the blistering summer weather of the Southlands comes to a close, Lu Bu's army returns to the city of Jian Ye. His army, bolstered by new recruits and even some of the Shanyue tribes, numbers twenty thousand strong. Tales of his victories against the Bandit King Yan Baihu and the Shanyue tribes raises Lu Bu to a legendary status, and no doubt news of him conquering the South spreads across the land. Having helped Lu Bu conquer the territory west, your fame spreads as well. You await Lu Bu at the front gates of Jian Ye.

At the head of his powerful looking army, Lu Bu stands tall and proud atop his horse. From the last year of fighting, you notice in particular that Lu Bu has grown a well-grounded beard, seemingly having decided not to shave during his campaign. To his side is Chen Gong, smiling pleasantly as his plans of seeing the South conquered have gone well. The other generals follow behind in dutiful manner.

At the front of the gates, you and the others head out to meet Lu Bu. Lu Bu dismounts seeing you, and walks toward you with open arms.

“Zhu Xing! How great it is to see you once again, my good friend.”

Before you depart your household, you remember the fight you had with Sun Ce. He was one of the toughest warriors you fought, and he even gave you some trouble at the battle with Liu Biao's forces. Seeing yourself in some ways to the young man, you decide to send a letter to the young man praising his skills and announcing to him that you wish to fight with him once again.

With that done, you decide to pay a visit to Zhang Liao who has fought along with you the past year. You respect the man for his might and skill as a general, and you feel like you should become friends with the man. You visit his household and the servants quickly allow you in. At the living room, Zhang Liao is reading over some books and he rises to greet you with a bow when you arrive.

"Greetings, General," he says with a bow and a nod of acknowledgement.

"A good day," you reply with a bow back. "I was hoping we could have a chat, as fellow warriors serving under our lord."

The crowds of people cheer and raise their hands. Years before, Lu Bu used to pillage the lands and people for his army. You can see that as a lord now, he has changed some of his policies and character.

“Now, my faithful strategist Chen Gong shall announce titles and ranks for those that serve under me.”
