It is the year 228X and Humanity has reached the stars. However, even as mankind grasps the heavens our asses are still firmly planted in the mud.

After a tumultuous 21st century on Earth government has ceded its role to private enterprise. Humanity is ruled by ultra-Corporations. Some own continents. Some own multiple worlds. But no matter who you are, everyone is a citizen-employee somewhere. The qualms that beset corporations of the past, copyright infringement, tech theft, still exist. If anything, they are amplified by the scale of the players.

Without government to turn to for legal recourse and separated by millions and billions of miles, corporations have turned to less savory solutions to resolve disputes. You are one of those solutions.

You are an elite mercenary, also known as a High Impact Public Representative, of the StrikeOut Company, a group of mercenaries who accept contracts and missions from the highest bidder. You are an orbital courier. Your package is pain.

Using the knowledge you gained during some of your more intimate moments with BART-chan (don’t worry, you promised to take responsibility) you carefully open the pilot hatch, sliding the overlapping plates of armor aside to reach the compartment. As you drag the mafiosi out you chuckle and say “Man can you believe that worked?”

The mafiosi, thinking that perhaps he’s going to get off easy, chuckles and agrees with you. “Yeah, what was that, a suplex?”

“Yeah,” you reply, grinning. “And this is a tomahawk.”

There proceeded to be a great many wet crunching sounds.

You rise up from the scene of your butchery, hauling the mangled mafioso out of the BART. The suit seems largely okay, nothing that you did to it fell out of standard operational practice. You hoist it upright and quickly check the joints and weapon mounts for damage. Everything seems to be in order, which is good since you’d have been more than a little dismayed if a simple suplex was enough to cause anything more than aesthetic damage to a BART.

You quickly look around inside the BART for various bits of telemetry equipment and rip that shit right the fuck out. Although that will tip off the Valachi security force that the suit has been compromised, you figure it’s better than running around constantly broadcasting your squad’s position. You clamber into the suit and quickly bring it back online. After a little cajoling you get the suit operational. you turn around to check and see how the rest of your squadmates are doing. You look just in time to see Marlena deliver the finisher to her combatant, slicing it in half with it’s own buzzsaw arms.

You whistle appreciatively. It sounds like a nest of angry hornets over the lo-fi voice projectors. “Nice one Martain.”

Marlena turns around, hefting the not inconsiderable buzzsaw on her shoulder. “Right? Opened him like… like something metal that you open up.”

Despite your familiarity with old Earth cinema, the simile “like a tin can” eludes you. Not that you’d know, since you didn’t know that phrase existed.

...Stop metagaming.

You decide to stick to your in helmet communications suite to contact your squadmates.

“Well, now what’s the plan?”

There’s a short pause as people think. Eventually Clayton speaks up. “Well, according to my floor plans this villa is actually powered by a geothermal tap. Basically it uses magma to serve as a power supply. We could try to rig that to blow, or we could handle things in a more conventional manner.”

You shrug inside the BART. The metal exoskeleton shrugs along with you like some neutral metal titan. “Why not both?”

“Yeah, I like both,” concurs Marlena, walking up next to you and swinging the buzzsaw in her hands. “We storm the building the normal way, then we rig it to blow afterwards. The editing guys can get rid of all the shots where we’re pillaging the place.”

You nod, and Clayton crosses his arms. “Fine, that sounds reasonable. Alright, we storm the normal way. I think we come in through wherever those BARTs came out of. Give Kostov some operating space. By the way Kostov, you’ve got point.”

You take the lead and move towards the point where the BARTs entered the garden. As you walk, Elda opens up a comm link. “Listen Ivan,” she begins somewhat ominously. “Blowing up the villa might be fun and all that, but you better make damned sure babbo is clear of that place before you set it alight.”

You roll your eyes in your helmet. “Of course I know that Elda. That’s why I suggested we do both. Ya think I’m stupid or something?”

Elda surprises you. “Sometimes.”

You could have sworn it’d be a yes.

You continue to lead the squad forward, past a great many shattered fountains. You note with some amusement that Cupid’s dick was shot off in one. Eventually you reach the side of the villa. Completely incongruous with the rest of the stone work are two large metal doors. Seem to be the sliding variety.

Fun fact about many many many many “secure” buildings commissioned by civilian organizations. And hell, a more than appropriate number of sec for buildings as well. They often fail to realize that reinforcing a door mean fuck all if you don’t bother to reinforce the wall around it. You take a few steps back, then charge forward. The creamy stone wall looms larger and larger in your vision as you blitz towards it, moving as quickly as the clunky powered armor allows.

“Into the breach,” you bellow over the comm link as you smash into the wall at full tilt. The stones issue an unfortunate scraping sound as they part in the way of a bulldozer of metal and guns.

“OOHHHHH YEAHHHHHH!”

There are a few moments silence as you, and the large number of mafiosi milling around in what appears to be a workshop/garage area try to regain your bearings. Turns out the mafiosi are faster about it. They break, stumbling behind cover and pulling out various small arms. Bullets bounce off of your heavy armor like lead raindrops. There are several large groups of mafiosi in the garage area, there are three armored cars in the garage, with groups of mafiosi behind all three. Two of them have heavy weapons of some flavor mounted on the top.

You stomp forward, heedless of the hail of bullets bouncing off of your armored torso. You can hear some panicked shrieks from mafioso, quite unmanly you imagine the don will have some harsh words for them, as you move to the first vehicle.

It’s essentially a knife on wheels, angular and protected by plates of sloped armor. Your fingers find purchase underneath the chassis and heave. Such a feat would be impossible for you outside of the BART, but within the metal suit it is a different story. The car tips over with the slow elegance of a cow. Funnily enough, despite the speed with which it falls it occurs to literally none of the mafiosi behind it to move out of the way. The car lands on it’s side with an incredible crunching sound as it disintegrates several people’s skeletons.

You take a few steps back from the scene of carnage and arm your grenade launcher. As much fun as flipping an entire car over was, it was neither of the two with heavy weaponry on the roof, something you need to address before they pick you up in a body bag. The first grenade flies true, punching through one of the armored cars’ windows and exploding. Shards of glass shrapnel glint in the air, rending through suits and body armor as if through butter. Men collapse onto the ground, clutching at deep gashes.

You turn your attention to the final car and fire again. Unfortunately, this time your shot hits one of the armored sides, detonating in a damaging but not lethal manner. This issue is compounded by a mafioso who has managed to climb into the gunner’s seat. Now you finally notice what sort of weapon he’s operating. It’s very large caliber machine gun. Certainly one that could punch through even your BART armor.
>>
A few sparks off of the turret armor. You look around the see Clayton standing in the rubble, his assault rifle pointed at the mafioso in the armored car. The merc grins weakly over the video comm link.

“Usually I’m a better shot.”

The mafioso open fire, aiming not at you, but at Clayton. Lord knows why, you’re clearly the greater threat in your armored suit, but they do. Luckily they don’t seem to be that good of a shot and most of the bullets go wild. Unluckily, one of those shots ricochets off several objects and ends up smashing into your goddamn machine gun, blowing the barrel into steel splinters.

“Fuck me,” you grumble, firing at the turret once more before Clayton can get himself shot. This time the grenade flies true, smashing into the gunner’s sternum before detonating.

The BART gets a new paint job.

You storm forward, running at full tilt in a group of mafioso. Thier bullets bounce off your armor. That still hasn’t changed. Part of your wonders why they even bother when they could like… run away. You reach out and snatch one of the mafioso up, preparing to juggle him. However, instead of doing that you actually end up impaling him on the remains of your ruined machine gun. Detaching the weapon from it’s forearm mount you toss it and the bloodied mafioso to the side.

This time you snatch up a mafioso with the intent to employ him as a deadly weapon. Unfortunately you grossly over estimate how much centrifugal force a human arm can withstand before being ripped from it’s socket. Turns out you applied substantially more than that. The mafioso hurtles across the room and crashes into a wall, leaving a bloody trail as he slides down the side.

You grimace a little. All of your nifty and gimmicky little attacks are failing in very bloody, albeit effective, ways. You bolt forward, maybe a suplex will work. you pick up and mafioso and are about to squeeze him for the maneuver when you hear a god awful splattering noise. You look down to see that you have managed to prolapse all of his intestines.

“Crikey mate, that’s fucking brutal,” mutters Clayton as he puts down a retreating mafiosi.

“Where are they headed?” you ask, rubbing blood off of your armor.

Marlena trots up next to you. “Seems to be the actual garage. You know with normal cars.”

“Well, we could chase them down, or we could move towards the center of the complex. There’s a helipad we need to get on in order to access the the central house.”

“Let them go. I couldn’t live with myself if we destroyed all of those glorious italian super cars.”

“Uh Ivan,” says Martian, “We’re going to be destroying those cars once we rig the magma tap to overflow.”

You take a few seconds to mourn. Clayton makes a few pleas for forgiveness to an unnamed god.

After a surprisingly short grieving period the two of you make your peace with the loss of those glorious Lambos, Maseratis, and Ferraris is more tragic than a million hurricane survivor abused puppies. Deciding that you can’t look them in the face for what you’re about to do to them you announce that you wish to go to the helipad. Clayton concurs, swallowing a sob.

Marlena merely rolls her eyes.

The three of you make your way to an elevator, finding the halls surprisingly devoid of mafiosi with lethal intent. You do find the halls full of top notch old world style furniture and art work. Paintings, near perfect reproductions of renaissance works, line the walls, looking at you all in that disconcerting way that they do. Personally, they just fall right into the uncanny valley for you. Something really off putting about the lot of them.

The ride up the elevator proves uneventful as well. they might as well be playing elevator music for the duration. Then Elda comes onto the comm link. “Everyone! I have repositioned to get a clear view on the helipad. They are setting up some sort of heavy weapons emplacement. And… yes. One of the helicraft just took to the sky. It’s not of any military type I know, but don’t be surprised if they have given it some additional armaments.

“Oh fuck,” mutter Clayton. “Ivan, I think you might be bullet sponging for us on this one. Marlena, you need to help him bring down weapons emplacements as quickly as possible. Elda, try and kill operators as quickly as possible before we arrive.”

>>35272453
Did Ivan Kool-Aid the paintings just to shake off the paranoia?

>Get out of BART
>Rig the BART to autonomously move forward then stop/randomly fire in a general direction.
>Use it as cover for everyone.
>>
>>35272453
Since we don't have the MG shoot grenades at tightly congested areas. Avoid blowing babbo up if he's on the roof, I'm sure Elda will be able to confirm once she gets into position if he's up there. Maybe she can tell us if he's in the heli, but I'm going to assume no because that would be a dick move; so that's a priority target.
>>
>>35272453
wait, can we stop a floor beneath the heli-pad and just tear the ground out from under them with the bart and/or explosives?
>>
What if before we set the place to blow we go grab some of the cars and take them out of the blast zone or use one as a get-away car
>>
>>35272726
That's not a bad idea, we can use Elda to spot the emplacements and blow them up from a floor below.
>>
>>35272726
Hey, who's for backing this idea up?

That's some top notch lateral thinking right there anon.
>>
>>35272909
I'll support this
>>
>>35272909
>lateral thinking right there anon.
I say it's vertical thinking, But. We need to know if Babbo is up there first.

that sounds pretty cool

Alright, Since this isn't really a combat roll, I'll instead take 5 rolls of 3d10 to see how well we manage to blow people up from underneath.

Roll for me baby.

You press the button for the floor just beneath the helipad, your armored finger practically smashing the panel. Clayton looks askance at you. “What ya doing Ivan?”

“I just had a thought,” you say “Elda’s in position to see all those emplacements. She can target them for us on our tac maps. We blow them from below.”

There is a long pause as everyone considers what you just said. “Goddamn,” mutters Clayton, rubbing his hand against his head. “I never… That never even occured.”

“Alright, that’s some fucking smart brain shit,” cries Marlena, clapping you on the back. “I can help rig that shit up, explosives are my jam. Pity Choi isn’t here though…”

You and Clayton quickly exit the elevator, followed by Marlena. Elda directs the two of you to the emplacement furthest to the east, while she sends Marlena to the one to the west. The two of you work to rig your grenades beneath the first weapon emplacement, aiming the charges to make a conical blast, for all the good it might do.

Elda directs the three of you to the other emplacement locations and you set up similar det charges. Eventually she gives the affirmative that you’ve set up charges beneath all of the emplacements. The three of you hold your breaths and activate the detonation signal. The entire building rumbles as the charges go off, a roar of heat and noise blasts through the hallways. In the distance you think you can make out the sound of Elda firing her sniper rifle.

She chuckles over the squad comm link. “Un colpo, un morto. All that is left is the helicraft. I can try and see if I can bring down the pilot from here, but it might go faster if Ivan and Marlena took part.”

>Seems that all we have left is a helicraft!
>Plan how you will attack that helicraft. There are several holes in the helipad that you or Marlena could use to fire into the sky.
>>
>>35273645

...Can we tackle the helicraft out of the sky?
>>
>>35273645
Unload on the heli, but don't spend to much time aiming, we want to scare it and fill the air with lead, get the pilot distracted so Elda can take a few shots unnoticed.

We don't want the pilot dodging Elda's shots so we'll have to be bait between the holes in the helipad.
>>
>>35273645
FASTBALL SPECIAL
>>
>>35273645
Aim above the helicopter an try to take out the rotor. Unless it's armed with missiles, blowing those up should do it.
>>
>>35273645
Use the grenade launcher to fill the sky with unholy fire. BOOYAH bring down that chopper
>>
>>35273645
We should move between the opening at random and take pot shots at the heli. While it's distracted and if it isn't blown up by then Elda will have plenty of chances to get the pilot.
>>
>>35273645
Run between the holes, having each of us go to a separate hole and fire at it, trying to to some damage to the engines or tail, and have Elda time her shots so she fires after we fire, keeping its attention on us, use the wreckage as cover to move around.
>>

>Into the propeller blades she goes.

Yeah, though, how feasible would it be to throw an explosives package Marlena makes at the helicopter?

We don't have a working machine gun or grenade launcher on the BART so... yeah.

Alright, I'm seeing a lot of people suggest shooting form the holes in the helipad alongside Marlena.

“Martian,” barks Clayton, “You and Kostov break. Attack that chopper from the holes in the helipad, keep it distracted so Elda can line up the shot. I’ll shoot when I can. Move people!”

You and Marlena shoot off like rockets, screaming towards opposite holes in the helipad. You reach yours and come to a skidding stop ripping the grenade launcher up and firing into the air blindly. The weapon rocks against your shoulder armor, spraying grenades into the air. They detonate and fill the sky with fire. Elda screams at you over the comm link “CRETINO! How can I shoot the pilot if you try to blind me!”

Resolving to not be quite so exuberant next time you run away to another hole, narrowly evading a burst of machine gun fire from the helicraft. Despite your circumspection, you have similar luck at the next hole. you aim for the rotor, but whoever is piloting that damn thing knows his shit, evading the crossfire from both you and Marlena while still refusing to present himself to Elda. The helicraft spins and twirls in the air, almost looking like it’s about to lose control before being masterfully brought back into rein by it’s pilot. You almost feel bad for trying to kill the guy, he’s clearly a master.

As you watch the spectacle unfold in the sky you notice something falling out of the side of the helicraft. It takes you a moment before you realize that it’s one of the mafiosi acting as door gunner hurtling to the ground.

“Dumb mother fucker,” you mumble, as you fire once more upon the helicraft, “Shoulda used a safety belt.”
>>
The grenade bursts forth from your launcher on a beautiful arc, as all grenades do. However, this grenade was very special. When it was first born in the Karkaid Munitions plant on Jerris it knew it was destined for something special. Not to get shot out and blow up on the ground like it’s normal brothers and sisters. No this grenade had a special purpose. It waited in a dark ammunition box, while the rest of it’s siblings despaired of ever blowing anyone up, waiting for the day. Waiting for the day when it would find it’s purpose. And as it left your grenade launcher, it found that purpose. A big, loud obnoxious rotor tacked on top of a converted civilian helicraft like some retarded propellor hat. And as that grenade arced through the air, it smiled. Well, it would have smiled had it had the capacity to do so, for it’s life finally found meaning.

The helicraft hangs in the air for a few moments, almost like Wile E Coyote, knowing something is wrong, but not yet sure what. And then it falls. The craft strikes the ground with unparalleled force, a brutal metallic crunching sound as the fuselage collapses in on itself
