@QMKingofHearts.

Today is December 12th, UC 0083. You are Commander Dominic O'Hara, Titans, squadron leader for the mobile weapon forces aboard the SCV-82 Valkyrie. At the moment you're concussed and covered in your own blood, so you've taken some time to sit down on your GM's open cockpit hatch while Carya straddles your legs and dabs at your bloodied face with a tissue. Her Hizack stands nearby, its own hatch open, while the rest of your team sees to the surrendering Principality soldiers. Still, you muse, staring at the last Dom you downed as the tank turret you impaled it with smoulders, things could be worse.

“Jesus,” Carya mutters to herself as she pulls out a small first-aid kit from a pouch on her uniform. “I didn't realize it was broken this badly. What the hell happened?”

“Retro-rockets didn't do their job. You should see the other guy, though.” You hiss briefly in pain as Carya brushes an alcohol swab across the bridge of your nose, where there's a break in the skin.

She shakes her head at your momentary show of weakness. “Don't be such a baby. If you wrecked two Doms like this, I think you'll live. But still... maybe you should head back? Let us handle the rest.”

“And get ready for us to handle YOU later,” Catrina teases, running a fingertip gingerly across your chest. “Because my sweet merciful God, watching you work like that turns me on.”

“That too, I suppose,” Carya agrees with a coy grin. “Still, I think it'd be good to have Sayla give you...”

The Sisters' eyes glint as you both sense something coming towards you, and your GM's sensors sound the alarm at a large inbound heat signature. Carrina gives you a curt nod before leaping back onto her Hizack's cockpit hatch and clambering inside.

“It's our reinforcements from Titans,” Lieutenant Takisawa's voice announces as you strap into your own seat and wipe some of the rapidly drying blood off your console. “One Garuda, seems like it's got eight m-particle sources on board. Likely mobile suits.”

“Eight?” You hear a note of skepticism in Haman's voice. “That seems excessive, given that we already secured the objective.”

“It is,” Audrey agrees, moving her Hizack into a defensive posture. “I don't like where this is going.”

“What's with all the concern? They're on our side, right?” Emma asks you. She still hasn't moved her own mobile suit to prepare for a possible skirmish, and it strikes you that she's the only one of your pilots who's not mentally prepared to defend herself.

Carrina seems to notice it as well. “Keep your guard up, Lieutenant Sheen. Just because they wear the same uniform as us doesn't mean they're friendly.”

Karen, who's been listening in on your conversations, finally decides to weigh in. “Hold your fire for now,” she orders, though her voice tells you she already considers the Garuda a possible threat. “We're all one big, happy Federation family here.”

High above the rolling Tajik highlands, the Garuda banks away to the left and disgorges its mobile suits out the back hatch, one at a time, with parachutes deployed behind them. Each GM falls under its canopy before retro-rockets fire and halt their descent a few meters off the ground, from which point they simply detach the chutes and drop to the dirt.

The lead GM surveys the scene, its rifle in a low-ready position, before its pilot hails the Valkyrie.

The lead GM surveys the scene, its rifle in a low-ready position, before its pilot hails the Valkyrie.

“This is Lieutenant Thomas Strayer, Titans 10th MS,” a deep male voice growls, though his words at least have the veneer of politeness. “Am I speaking to Captain Joshua?”

“You are,” Karen replies tersely.

The other Quels sweep the surrendered Principality forces, including their remaining tanks, with what you recognize are standard-issue 90mm GM rifles. Two of the new machines heft rocket launchers, probably loaded with scattering rounds for anti-personnel or anti-tank use. Something about their attitude seems a bit too aggressive given the circumstances, as if the pilots are itching for a fight that simply doesn't exist.

“We're here to clear up the leftovers,” Strayer continues, his voice dripping with disdain towards the defeated enemy. “Your orders from Commodore Om are to let us deal with the situation from here.”

“How long till the EFF can get here?” Karen asks Reiko quietly. Apparently she managed to arrange something with the captains of the Ayanami and the Roberts before ordering the Valkyrie to descend. Good on her.

Reiko's news isn't as heartening. “They're thirty minutes out and closing.”

“Damn,” Karen hisses over a private channel. “We were too quick.”

“I'm holding her steady,” Defrah adds in low voice. “Waiting on a firing solution and your word, ma'am.”

>Tell Lt. Strayer to back off. Your crew will process the prisoners for transport by the EFF regulars while you confirm your orders.
>Let Strayer handle things, but let him know your team will stay on site to ensure the prisoners are treated humanely.
>So far as Titans is concerned this is Strayer's show now. Give them a chance and take the Valkyrie north to take on fresh supplies before its next mission.

Do we still have the psychommu for the psychomine launch system or was that cannabalized for the Slattern/Titanjacked? 'Cause, if that's still kicking around, then get on installing that into the Valkyrie when we have the time.

Oh, did Quattro conveniently forget to tell us where Miss Karn and Mineva are or did he tell Sayla?

>>35284870
Let Strayer handle things for now. We'll board the Valkyrie for resupply and leave Haman and Carya here in a Gundam and Hizack while we get new orders. The incoming Federation forces can rendezvous with them.

Feed him a line about a suit issue which means we can't move it until we've fixed the problem with it... should take about... 30mins?

Make up some story about need in to secure our drop zone, and recover fragments of our retro rockets. Thing didn't work properly, need to ensure we have all the evidence. Should only take 30 minutes or so.
>>

>Let Strayer handle things, but let him know your team will stay on site to ensure the prisoners are treated humanely.
Also ask him if his team has experienced any problems with the landing systems on the Quel, just to keep up appearances of this being something friendly.
>>
>>35284870
We have our suspicions, but nothing concrete as of yet. Follow Riddick's orders and let the incoming Titans' deal with mop-up. Stay under Jamitov's radar and low on his shitlist for now. If we start bulking at direct orders, that's a sure-fire way to draw fire.

This.

“We've got no evidence they'll do anything... unsavory...” Audrey reminds you quietly. “We can't really act just yet without making our own situation untenable.”

Finally, you sigh, having made up your mind. “Let them know that my machine is damaged, so we'll be staying in the area until I can be recovered.”

“Right.”

“Lieutenant,” Karen continues, re-establishing a comm link with the Titans team leader, “we've got a badly damaged machine here that we have to check out before recovering. Wouldn't want it blowing up on us as we try and bring it in.”

“How long will that take, Captain?” the pilot growls back.

“About half an hour.”

There's a noticeable pause. “Very well,” Strayer replies. “But know that our mission does not include prisoners of war.”

“You're in luck,” you reply. “There's an EFF convoy en route at this very moment. They'll be here right around the time we shuld be ready to move out.”

“Convenient indeed. It would be easier to let us kill them.” Strayer levels his Quel's rifle at a truck loaded up with maybe a dozen or so prisoners. Some of them cower and others glare at him stubbornly as your teammates ready their own weapons.

In a splintered second, you find yourself ejecting the e-pac on your own beam rifle and slapping a replacement in place with a dull thump and a loud click. The weapon is trained on Strayer's machine before he has a chance to react.

“Not acceptable,” you tell him. “While I'm around, you WILL observe the rules of war.”

“Why are you so willing to treat them like soldiers?” Strayer hisses. “These fucks are still pledging themselves to the state that dropped a fucking colony on Sydney. Or have you somehow FORGOTTEN that?”

Seems he's pretty upset about that colony drop...

"Of course not. But why give them an easy way out? Killing them here and now plays into the narrative they've been telling themselves about being noble warriors for the Principality. They don't deserve to die thinking they're the heroes. Taking them in and giving them proper justice lets us prove to them that they're the villains of this story. They'll still pay for their crimes, but they'll go to their graves knowing what monsters they are. Isn't that more satisfying?"

Ignoring the rules of war will set you on a slippery slope which results in you becoming that which you despise...
>>
>>35285403
You quickly hit the stud to open external comms. "Lieutenant, these aren't the people who dropped a colony on civilians, and killing them in cold blood would make us no better than the ones who did."

Haman quickly catches on and mimics you, raising the Lilium's Hyper Rifles and speaking over an open comm. “Such pointless brutality... it would dishonor us, and it would debase the sacrifice of those who fought and died before us. I won't allow it.”

"You two really believe that, don't you?" Strayer asks, a mixture of dismay, disbelief, and even a trace of awe creeping into his voice.

Strayer's Quel turns away. "Fine. You win, sir. The next Zeek I see dies, though... and I suggest you stay out of my way if you happen to be there."

You sigh loudly. That wasn't the answer you were looking for, but you suppose it'll have to do. Defrah brings the Valkyrie in close to begin recovering your team, who leap one at a time onto the launch ramp and walk into the single midline hangar. You stay on the ground with Carya for a while and keep an eye on the prisoners, making sure that Strayer's team follows their leader's example.

Finally, when the EFF convoy arrives and begins taking in the Principality prisoners, many of whom offer grateful salutes in your direction before being loaded into trucks, you turn and make the leap up onto the Valkyrie... and your Quel's left knee gives out entirely.

"Piece of shit..."

Around the hangar you can see your team are already hard at work dealing with the damage done during the orbital drop: Audrey starts a team into cutting damaged sections of titanium off Emma's Quel, and Carya is taking the opportunity to run Emma through basic maintenance of the Lilium machines with Haman and Rossweisse.

Emary is running around in circles shouting orders to five different work crews at once, just trying to manage not mixing their orders up in the process.

"Medbay. You. Go." Catrina insists as you pass behind her.

"Yes ma'am."

She nods. "Good boy."

You find that the medbay, thankfully, is empty aside from Artesia.

"Ah," she greets cheerfully. "I was hoping you'd have the sense to come down here."

"Yeah, I figured there's no sense not being careful."

Artesia nods with a smile, and sets to work looking at your eyes. "Don't blink," she instructs, immediately making you aware that you NEED to blink... why does that always happen?

"Pupils are fine, you're not hemorrhaging," she eventually concludes.

"Good. That's good, right?"

"Quite. The alternative would be rather less comfortable."

"So, Artesia," you venture, "did your brother tell you where Haman's sister and Miss Mineva were?"

The young woman has to counter her own initial shock at hearing her own name aloud, no doubt having to remind herself that she requested you use it in private. "He did, actually. They're in an apartment in New Manhattan colony, Side 4. A hotbed of Zeon sympathy."

"So nobody will take any note of a few newcomers whose stories don't quite add up," you conclude, seeing the reasons behind Char's selection.

Artesia nods. "Probably, yes. So, I heard there was some tension between you and Captain Joshua?"

You turn to raise an eyebrow at her apparent lack of discretion.

"I'll be asking her to come down here so I can tell her my little secret as well... she's been too busy lately and I haven't gotten around to it. So if you two wanted some privacy I could arrange it... or you could confide in me this time?"

I don't see a need to make a big thing of this. Karen has some emotional issues to sort through, but they're not ones that can be solved through one emotionally-charged talk. Not even if said talk ends in making out. I think we should just maintain our friendly attitude and not act uncomfortable around her. Show her we're her friend, we care about her, and we're not going to go anywhere. And yes, we know a lot of people have said that before, but we're the protagonist. She's more likely to die than we are.

"Could you tell me about your family?"

She sighs. “My parents are dead and my brother is a massive asshole. Now tell me about Karen.”

You sigh loudly, realising that you're not going to get away without putting up some effort to answer her question. So, you decide to tell her the truth. “Well, I jokingly hit on her, and then it suddenly stopped being a joke, and now I have no idea what to do because while I AM surrounded by women constantly I really have no idea how to deal with them when the inexplicable Newtype connections aren't at work in my favor. And that's because I stopped having 'normal' relationships with people my own age when I was sixteen.”

“... wow. That's rough.”

“Tell me about it.”

“Can't say I have any real advice for your specific case,” Artesia admits, “but as I recently discovered, 'the truth will set you free.' Think about it some more.”

Seems counter-intuitive to return to the previous stance of staying at arms length. Sayla trusts her enough to divulge her identity to her, why not give her some credit as well?
I think Dom and Karen should trust each other that things will never get out of hand once they initiate their banter. Both seems mature enough to be capable of that.

"I guess you've got a point," you admit, giving Artesia a quick hug. "Thanks for the advice."

She returns the gesture with one arm, using the other to keep your face clear of her uniform. "Any time, Dominic. But let me get you a bandage for your face before you go... it'd be rude to keep bleeding on people."

Several minutes later you find yourself stepping onto the bridge, greeted by a wave from Defrah as she puts the Valkyrie on a course for the Tajiik capitol Dushanbe.

"Sup," she greets you casually. "I just had to dodge a yak."

"Careful, that's probabyl someone's livestock," you taunt her. "It'd come outta your paycheck."

"You pay me?"

Karen tears her eyes from the paperwork in front of her as you approach the chart table. "Debriefing, I assume?" she asks.

You shrug. "Among other things."

Karen nods her head in the direction of the captain's ready room. "Step into my office."

As the door slides shut behind you, Karen settles into her chair. You follow her example and take a seat across the desk from her.

"So," she begins. "Tell me about all this crap the Titans had us test."

"Well, Audrey's writing a report on the Hizacks. The GM Quels were a bit of a disappointment. They were slow, a bit fragile in the knees, and underpowered for a postwar machine. The joints weren't even magnet-coated... which isn't surprising, seeing how long they've been sitting on them before getting the chance to roll them out."

"And the ballute system?"

"Mine failed," you tell her. "Broke my nose and rattled my brain around a bit. Emma's seemed fine, but then again she used hers to stay in the air, then came down on top of a tall building. So she probably came down slower and lighter."

Karen flips open the manual for the ballute system installed on your Quel. "I had Reiko and Catharine take a look. You see thsi figure for the Quel's loaded weight?"

You nod in affirmation.

Shit, I just realized that we're Char. Not the actual one, but how he's usually portrayed and reflected in the Gundam AUs. The honorable enemy commander who joined the villains so he could attempt to change them from within, and agrees with the protagonist's ideals but thinks they're too undisciplined to cause real change. We even had an establishing moment in Kamille's backstory as "that one decent Titans officer".

"It's off by seven tons of fuel," Karen tells you. "It wasn't a mistake you made. The eggheads working for Titans just got your suit's weight wrong."

"That's a relief," you tell her, leaning back into the chair in an attempt to get comfortable. "I was afraid I might be losing my touch."

"Nope," Karen grins. "We saw what you did with that tank... you've still fucking got it."

You can't help but grin and chuckle to yourself. "That's good. I'm too young to be losing it already."

"So, you said 'among other things' a minute ago," Karen continues. "I assume you meant to bring up yesterday?"

"Yeah, I hate making things awkward," you admit to her, causing her to lean forward in her seat ever so slightly. "The worst thing would be to do something stupid and ruin a perfectly good friendship, and there's no reason to rush anyway. So let's just make it a point to not let it make either of us feel awkward. If it's a month or two down the road and we want to see more of each other, cool. If not, that's cool too: we'll still be close friends and teammates."

Karen leans back again, seemingly satisfied. "Alright. Neither of us are going anywhere any time soon, so I guess it makes sense. Seems you really do have a way with the ladies..."

Something about that statement seems to bother Karen, but she doesn't speak up about it right away. She Karen frowns at you, less in genuine disapproval and more in sheer confusion at the series of events that have unfolded since your unit's inception. Finally, she puts a voice to the thoughts that have clearly been on her mind for months.

“Why've you filled our whole crew with women, anyway? Something tells me it's not just your libido has a mind of its own and it's secretly running the ship.”

Open with "Newtype Space Magic?"
but really it is a combination of circumstance and each recruit having something which would benefit the team and themselves by joining us. Haman would have been put in charge of Axis and would have had a tremendous burden put upon her and we needed her experience with the Psycommune system.
Rossweisse was facing a short life as nothing but a laboratory lab mouse, but with us she helps provide a different view on strategies.
Blitzen provided information integral to our investigations regarding Delaz, and If she had not joined us, she would likely be dead along with the rest of the Delaz Fleet...
Defrah Is someone whom we had already formed a bond of trust with and had we not recruited her as a helmsman, she would likely be removed from the EFF due to her inability to pilot an MS due to her injury...
>>
>>35288378
"NEWTYPE SPAAACE MAAAGIC!" you shout, waving your hands for emphasis. Seeing Karen's confused look, you decide to take it seriously.

“I've wondered that myself. We've basically decided to take in Newtypes for safety, right? Theirs and ours?”

“I remember that, yeah,” Karen nods to herself, recalling the events at the Oakland research lab where you met Rossweisse and grinning in spite of the memory. “Same day you stopped me beating Dr. Loki to death.”

Laughing, you recall exactly how worked up Karen got when she started to piece together what had been going on at Oakland. It was probably the first moment you saw your Captain really open up about her own thoughts. “Right, same day. Well, I know of eleven Newtypes worth mentioning, myself included. The men are me, Amuro, Char, and “Zero” from the Murasame labs. The ladies are Lalah Sune, who died in the war, and Carya, Catrina, Haman, Rossweisse, Sayla, who wants to talk to you later, and Rebecca Fanning, who are all on our ship. That's nearly a two to one majority, and I suspect most Cyber-Newtypes will be teenaged girls as well.”

“The hell would you expect that for?” Karen puzzles over the declaration, realizing that you wouldn't have made it without reason but not quite keeping up with that reason. And it's understandable that she wouldn't, after all: Newtypes are still fairly misunderstood among most people.

“Emotional awareness is just as much a part of being a Newtype as spatial awareness,” you explain, a big, goofy grin already tugging at the corners of your mouth. “And have you seen anyone more emotional than a teenaged girl? My guess is it's just easier for them to fully awaken their potential than boys, or adults.”

Your hands find their way into your pockets as you lean back into the chair and spin. “So that's six of our 'permanent' members accounted for.”

“Permanent?” Karen muses. “What about Miss Sheen? You counting her as 'permanent'?”

“I think her heart and head are in the right place, but it's up to her. I consider her part of the team, though. As for choosing her? Cacooler seemed like he was already assigned, and the other choice was that little fuck Messa.”

Karen sticks her tongue out at the notion. “Point taken. And the rest of our team?”

“Most secretaries in the Federation armed services are female, correct?” you ask, already suspecting the answer.

“Almost all. It's a little like nursing, with its 'male nurses'. Finding one's like finding a damn unicorn.” That's right, Karen was a medical student before the war, wasn't she? Unlike Artesia, though, her life seems to have taken a turn away from that goal. Part of you wonders if she even really wants to be here.

“So that's Catherine and Reiko's story,” you tell her. “Fact is there just aren't that many male secretaries to choose from. You and Audrey were assigned by Doc Null, so that's you two explained as well.”

“Why us, though?”

“No clue,” you admit. “I expect he vetted us all, but you'd have to ask him about it. Oh, and he's not a woman either, so there's that too.”

“And Defrah and Emary? Seem to have explanations for everything else you do, so let's hear theirs.”

You can't help but laugh at the very question: it's not surprising that you'd notice the pattern where your CO failed to. “How many men did you see on that space station in ANY position of responsibility?”

Karen's brow furrows as she tries to recall. “Their station director... woman. Two head designers... two crew chiefs... test pilot... all women. Well, fuck me.”

You nod to her. “Exactly. Either their CEO is a total creep, or he just didn't have any other options... so many men either KIA or still deployed and all. Either way, it's obvious skimming the top technical personnel off Anaheim's staff would net us a lot of women.”

“So that leaves Miyu and Noel... why'd you pick them? There were other choices, you know.”

You snap Karen a crisp salute. "Yes, ma'am. But if you don't mind, can I get that prescription in writing?"

"Sure," Karen laughs, waving you off. "I'll have Sayla write one up later. Until then feel free to self-medicate."

The Sisters' room is next to yours in the gravity block, which has stopped rotating under Earth-normal gravity. So instead of having to negotiate the rotating ring to get into the appropriate color-coded hallway, it's a simple matter of taking a step up and walking straight.

When Haman's design is complete, you muse silently to yourself, that's one of the first inconveniences you WON'T be missing.

You can tell the room is unoccupied, since most of your crew are scattered around the hangar completing various post-mission tasks, so you let yourself in. One of the Sisters' cabinets is ajar, probably having slid open as the Valkyrie fell backwards into the Earth's atmosphere.

Taking a peek inside, you spy no less than seven bottles of whiskey and three of Cognac: Auchentoshan Valinch, Laprhoaig 12, Yamazaki 18, Hakushu 18, Jura Superstition, Glen Scotia 12, a bottle of sherried Wolfburn 10, a bottle each of Remy Martin Grand Cru and their XO, and a bottle of Delamain Tres Vénérable. The lattermost, as well as two of the Scotches, are unopened.

Well, you suppose you know where most of their first Titans paycheck went.

Looking over the selection, you settle on the Valinch: it's already open, and cask-strength. No ice, of course, but a small splash of cool water from the tap should do.

You then pour a second glass, and settle in. It's 52.7% ABV, but you'd never know from how smooth it is. The nice caramel and vanilla notes fill it out nicely, and you find yourself practically melting into Carya and Catrina's bunk as you drink it.

In fact you hardly notice it when the Sisters return and find you on their bed, totally relaxed, sipping their whiskey.

"I see you found my stash," Catrina quips, letting you know they're there. "I trust it meets your approval?"

You nod and take another sip. "The cabinet was partway open, so I poured a glass for each of us."

"Sweet of you," Carya replies, taking hold of the crystal tumbler and laying down next to you against the headboard.

You've just about polished your own glass off, so you slow down to let the Sisters catch up. When you're done they take the glasses over to the desk and set them down before returning. One leg goes over you and they settle in on your lap... and frown.

“I would personally burn the entire Titans fleet out of the sky for you, and bring you Enzo Bernini's head on a spike if you asked... you know that, right?” they ask, their violet eyes glowing warmly as they gaze into your own.

"Yeah," you tell them with a kiss. "I know."

Carrina carries on, her eyes glistening a little. "I'll always be with you, Dom. Just keep moving forward, and keep coming back alive. Don't ever stop, and you can count on me to always keep up."

The mood suddenly changes as she grins, tears still pooling in the corners of her eyes. "But enough of that shit. You got me all hot and bothered, so now you've got to help me work it off."

Today is December 13th, UC 0083. Your face feels a little better by the time your eyes open. Carya and Catrina have been snoozing at your side for some time, waiting for you to wake up. They stir briefly and shift their weight against you as they stretch.

Carya quickly rolls over top of you, and looks you dead in the eye. "Before then, you need to think about where we go from here."

You laugh softly to yourself. "And why aren't you telling Karen this?"

Catrina shakes her head. “Karen's got her hands full with politics, and with keeping the Valkyrie from getting shot out from under us," she tells you. Carya picks up where she left off.

"In the end you're the one we'll all follow, against Titans," she mutters, pointing a fingerpistol at your uniform as it hangs on the doorknob to her bathroom.

"...the Principality," she continues, pointing the fingerpistol at herself.

"... or Mars," she concludes, pointing the fingerpistol into the air... you have no idea where Mars actually is right now, but whatever.

"But as the Earth Sphere comes apart at the seams, we're going to look to you more and more for that guidance.”

None of the above. She's the Republic of Zeon. Which is distinct from the Principality of Zeon and Mars Zeon. Say what you will about the Zabis, but they certainly made sure Zeon Zum Deikun's legacy would endure.

"You don't ask very much, do you?" you laugh.

Catrina plants a light kiss on your forehead. "Nope."

"I tried making a plan once," you tell the Sisters earnestly. "It didn't go so well, because I'm not very good at planning. Shit just starts going wrong immediately, and it all kinda goes downhill. So I decided a long time ago: fuck it."

"Let the assholes in charge of Titans and the Principality remnants and Mars make their schemes, because that's all they have: scheming and plotting. I figure all we need to do is keep our little family alive and well until they make that one mistake that gives us an opportunity. And when that opportunity comes? When we get that shot? Nothing short of an act of God is gonna stop us."

You pull Carya down into your arms and kiss her again, passion and energy flowing thickly from the two of you in almost palpable waves. "So we bide our time in Titans. We wait, and gather strength and intel. We weaken the foundations underneath the scheming bastards who'd plunge the whole human race back into another war, build up our own allies and materiel, and then we take them all out at the climax."

Carrina grins wildly at you. "Did I ever mention? Seeing you work like this? Fucking MASSIVE turn on..."

About twenty minutes later you find yourself standing on the bridge next to Karen and Audrey, preparing to give your report to Commodore Om.

The projected image of Riddick really doesn't look happy to see you. There's a brief stutter as the framerate drops... probably something being downloaded aboard the ship somewhere. Must be a big file... you make a mental note to ask ALICE later.

"I see you failed to wipe out the Principality base," he says sternly, looking over a small file on his own desk. "Did you at least gather passable data on the machines we sent you?"

>Well, the Hizacks are fine from what I've seen. The Quels have some serious issues that could end up crippling your average pilot's performance in battle. You'll want to start by going over the specs again, because if the weight's off by the amount we figure it was, I don't want to know what else the eggheads fudged to make it look better. Magnetic coating might also be a thing we'll want to be looking into to standardize, it makes a lot of difference to experienced pilots and Newtypes.
>>
>>35291551
"Lieutenant Strayer specified that he and his team was to deal with the situation, Sir. He said you gave the order for him to 'mop-up' the Zeon remnants. That was no failing upon my part, Sir."

>>35291551
"I believe there must have been an omission in our orders, Captain Om. We received no instruction to destroy the base, merely neutralize the threat it posed. Any orders to "wipe out" the facilities and personnel that you may have sent were not received. I apologize for the mistake, but I don't think we can really be faulted for it. Perhaps you should look into your administrative offices, see who made that error.

"As for the new machines, they had mixed performance. The Hizacks worked quite well, but the Quels had potentially serious issues. The joints suffered extreme stress during landing procedures, and whoever calculated the mass of fuel needed for disengaging from the ballute at altitude was off by several tons. That said, the new joint design did allow for some quite impressive control over the Quel's movements. I would advise adding magnetic coating technology so as to reduce wear, but otherwise they worked well."

"Our orders said 'neutralize', sir," Karen tells him coyly. "We cratered the runway and destroyed all their war materiel with no losses of our own, so I'd call it a success."

Om frowns, but seems to let the point drop. "And the new machines?"

“Well, sir... the Zeeks are going to be the first to thank you when these see a real fight,” you tell him. “No magnetically-coated joints? Substandard build quality? Vastly underpowered thrusters? Did you even READ my Christmas list? The ONLY upside is that it's closer to a 1:1 range of movement, which let me pull off some cool shit like beating a Dom to death with a tank. Otherwise, it's a deathtrap, and the ballutes were calibrated incorrectly to boot.”

Bask Om, who's been growing increasingly frustrated at your tone, remains silent. The only outward sign that you're getting to him is that his forehead is furrowed so hard it's almost like he's trying to pop his goofy-ass goggles off with his eyebrows.

“As for the trial-type Hizack,” Audrey adds, “Lieutenant Marseille and I found them underpowered and sluggish, but still better than the GM Quel. The number of verniers is fine for a mass-production machine though, and their Gundarium armor makes them almost as tough as a Gundam. Call it a saving grace.” The unspoken conclusion was that if Titans mass-produced the Hizack as-is, it could be bad for you in the long run.

"Those were quite expensive machines," Riddick informs you. "I trust that we will be getting them back?"

"... mostly?" you offer.

Riddick sighs loudly, almost visibly deflating. "Very well. I suppose that is the best I can hope to expect."

"Our next mission, sir?" Karen prompts the man, trying to get him to quit brooding over the fact that you refused to kill unarmed prisoners for him... seriously, what's his fucking problem, anyway?

"Well, there are a few issues which may demand a degree of... discretion..." Commodore Om tells you, his tone clearly communicating a certain disdain for anything that doesn't involve brute force.

The Commodore sends a brief data transmission, which decodes on your end.

"Putting it up on screen for you," Catharine announces as she presses a few buttons. The data scrolls across the largest terminal, thankfully replacing Bask Om's freaky face: most of them seem major. You'll likely be able to focus on only one at a time.

You and Karen exchange a glance, realizing that out of these there's a more pressing concern.

"We'll take the mission in New Manhattan," Karen informs Om. "Gives us a chance to stretch our legs, get some fresh air. But we'll need to blend in with the crowd. Basically, we need new clothes."

"Can't go in with just our Titans uniforms," you add.

Noel moves to clear the screen so you can see Riddick's face again, but you subtly wave her off.

"Very well," the Commodore eventually replies, sounding very reluctant. "We already set aside one million for ammunition for a direct assault. You may use half."

The whole bridge crew exchange confused looks, but are in no apparent rush to talk him down.

"We'll leave Earth in two days," Karen announces. "Valkyrie out."

The screen goes into idle as the connection cuts.

"What was up with those addendums?" Defrah asks, turning to face you.

"For that matter, ALICE?" you ask loudly. "Can you hear me? What was that stutter?"

"I was downloading a few programs for my own usage," says a sweet voice with a distinctly synthetic edge to it, coming from all around. On the screen you see a 3d-rendered character appear, who curtseys.

"I am Advanced Logistic and Inconsequence Cognizing Equipment. You may call me 'ALICE'... it is a pleasure to meet you."

"Did... the computer of this ship just introduce itself?" Defrah asks incredulously. "Too early to be drunk, so it must be real."

"Not another one," Karen groans.

Freddy might actually be helpful for this, we could also see if we could get some help from Kai as well.
>>
>>35292859
Rewire the Schnee Weiss psychommu for funnels already.

Afroengineer the Val Varo's plasma leaders to work with mobile suits. We throw them like a grenade.

Call in a commando team from Cima. That's the one thing we seriously like. Grunts with guns. We've the giant robots.

Get ALICE to start digging for information.

Plan for escape routes.

Have Blitzen gamble and make a fortune for us. We could put the winnings towards building Haman's new ship. Even maybe a Gwadan.
>>
>>35292921
We can ask if he can loan Chica, Bonnie or Foxy for the op.

Foxy especially would be useful for the getaway; that fucker's fast.
>>
>>35292887
Kinda disappeared, to the best of my knowledge. Defected from Axis, which probably added to Haman's craziness.

>>35292878
The character is Scottish, but honestly? I'd put Dom at halfway between Craig and Connery. He's a little harder than the latter, but less detached than the former.

>>35292779
No Purus yet. They exist, but aren't ready to fight.
>>
>>35292944
We don't have any idea who Kai is yet.
I'm hoping soon though. Gotta shut them Cyber-Newtype labs down.

>>35292977
Titans took the Schnee Weiss and the VV, man. Part of the deal for the ship not getting retrofitted to their shitty standard, along with not transferring Ross and Audrey. And 4 mobile suits too.

>Get ALICE to start digging for information.
This I can get behind. ALICE going down the rabbit hole in a manner of speaking.
>>
>>35293021
We still have the psychommu from the Schnee Weiss. We just do not have any psychomines. Rewrite it to work with bits and funnels again and we're golden.
>>
>>35293021

>>35293035
>Rewrite
>Rewire

Fucking autocorrect. I specifically asked that further up in the thread actually.
>>
>>35293021
The Schnee Weiss is gone. All that's left is the psycommu, which is rigged up but doesn't have missiles to use. The Tusche Schwarz was a pile of scrap before you scrapped it, and the Val Varo is scrapped, and in the lower level of your hangar with the spare parts and tools. They wanted to "study" it, and left it in pieces when they were done.
>>
>>35293021
>We don't have any idea who Kai is yet.

Hopefully Sayla could get us into contact with him at some point.
>>
>>35293058
Can we dump ALICE's core into the Sadalahn or whatever ship Haman is building? Take the Val Varo's manipulator arms, stick them on the side of the thing, and we'd be one catgirl and bio android away from having the Outlaw Star.
>>
We should capture another Tusche Schwarz, liberate the pilot, and then ask the Titans if we can keep this one to toy with. It'll keep them off our backs about the Titans-must-be-assholes quota, while we secretly replace or fix the massively flawed Psycommu System in there with help of our actually functioning model.
>>
>>35293089
The Val Varo's arms aren't that big. But we could grab the arms from the Inle project the Titans Test Team is working on. Though I'm not sure how far they'll get on that project. In canon, that was one of Audrey's. She can't work on that when she's with us. We've kind of grabbed all the best talent for our own use, you know?
>>
>>35293141
We still have the Tusche Schwarz bro. Everything is down in the cargo holds. It's Chinese knockoff-tier.
>>
>>35293175
I think he just wants an undamaged one.
>>
>>35293175

Look at >>35293058 over here.
We scrapped it.

Still, we have a perfectly functional Psycommu System. I suggest that we "find" it when the Feds try their own Psycommu System and inevitably fuck it up in a manner much the same as Axis Zeon is doing right now. We can't stop them from weaponizing Newtypes if they really want to, but we can stop them from making the same kind of druggy pilot program by making it unnecessary. And nothing appeals to horrible people as much as "cost-saving innovation".
>>
>>35293191

It's Chinese-tier. Even undamaged ones are damaged cause of extremely shitty QC
>>
>>35293191
What's wrong with reassembling the one we have?
>>
>>35293240
I'm not saying I want, I was just explaining his thinking.

>>35293241
We blew the hell out of it. It's missing most of its limbs, as I recall.
>>
>>35293218
I know we still have the Schwarz in pieces. The Anon was saying Titans took it when that's false. We most likely have it's funnels disassembled down in the holds too.
>>
>>35293261
The only thing I remember being destroyed was the backpack. It's still in (mostly) one piece excluding that unless they took plasma torches to it in order to disassemble the thing.
>>
>>35293240
>>35293241
>>35293266

Well, that one is junk. But I mean, once we get one that isn't, we should probably try and strip the funnels off of it. See if we can't salvage them to dick around with. Maybe adjust and fix the Chinese-as-fuck Psycommu System in it so that we have two to mess around with instead of one.
>>
Oh yeah, here's another thing.

If we ever put Illia Pazom out of probation at some point in the future (or maybe if we just want to casually talk to her), we could also ask her why she didn't link up with Ch— Johnny's escape from Axis in the first place.
We can even extract the story of how he did it, how many soldiers went along with him, etc. from her perspective. Haman might even get some smug satisfaction on learning Bernini getting set back, even if it's temporary.
>>
>>35293312
I'd rather capture a Neue Ziel to replace the Val Varo.

>>35293058
Another thing to do, Hearts. Start looking into upgrading the Kampfer into a bastardized Xeku Eins. Kampfer is still hands down better than the Titans' walking coffins as is and we should really consider getting Cima's crew to build some more.
>>
>>35293379
I'm sure Haman's already asked that question. It keeps her feeling nice and warm at night. Well, on the nights where we aren't the one making her feel nice and warm.
>>
>>35293379
Should assign her to be Haman's pet full-time. The amount of spaghetti she would leak from her pockets after walking in on Haman and Dom boinking would be worth it.
>>
>>35293500
We should get Haman a Chara Soon, too. It'll be adorable.
>>
>>35292182
>The Jupiter Empire is supplying fuel to Mars, and possibly other material
>other material

Did Bernini get in the sack with Paptimus or am I being paranoid here?
>>
>>35293976
On one hand, it'll be likely that they'll murder one another at some point. On the other hand, whoever comes out on top gets the resources of both factions.
