“Well, let's hope that it breaks up before then. Clear skies are great for flying.” you reply.

“Yes they are. So have you decided on who your partner will be for the tournament?” Ms Yamada asks as she opens the door to the Teacher's Offices.

There probably are. But also remember that there is reason to not want us to start knocking up girls from potentially hostile countries. What if we knock up several IS pilotes from china and their children have that same ability? this could be bad for the USA.

“The practice we are having has paid off well. You are more than able to skillfully use your Starlight rifle. If we were partner up, nothing would be able to get close. Our ranged firepower would be too much for any opponent we would encounter during the tournament.” you answer.

Ichika, being her sole and closest relative, probably has the most identical genetic makeup which made ISes work for him. Or something like that.

Madoka, being an unconfirmed identical clone of Chifuyu, has both factors (gender and genetics) going for her, which makes her a fearsome IS pilot.

“That's right. If the enemy does not know your form, they cannot counter.” Rin says rather smugly.

Since you have already said to the girls how well you would work together with Houki, Cecilia and Rin. You might as well finish off with Laura and Charlotte.

“Land and Air control would be very easy with Laura. Laura has already proven that she is a strong contender on the ground but has problems in the air. If we were to partner up, I could cover that very easily. Total battlefield control would result and our railguns would destroy any IS with coordinated strikes.” you muse out loud.

“That is all well and good you are thinking of me, my Bride. No, I mean John.” Laura says slightly embarrassed at the end. ”But my Schwarzer Regen was destroyed during the last fight. The new unit has arrived but the fitting has not been completed yet. So I will be unable to participate.” Laura states matter of factly.

You see that it dawns on Charlotte that there could be problems appearing from them.

Laura and Rin are confused at her statement while Houki just sighs.

Since today is Friday, which would be practice with Laura. She instead opts to stand by your side, while you do the paperwork to change the times you can use the IS Practice areas. The paperwork was boring but Charlotte and Laura were there to help you out. Cecilia heads to her IS maintenance crew to figure out what she needs so that the two of you can work on reprogramming her bits. To no one's surprise, you need to get permission from the British Ministry of Defense which will take about a week. Cecilia said that with her clout, she will be able to get the permissions but there is still red tape the MoD needs to go through. Houki said she had some business to attend to and headed off. Rin had to set things up on her end, so that took up most of her time. By the time you get all paperwork done, the three of you are too tired and head to your rooms for sleep. Saturday morning, you get a text from Walken to report in for some tests. You tells the girls that you need to head to your hanger for a bit. They understand and let you go. After classes ended at noon, you head to your hanger. Once there, you knock on Walken's door.

“It's open.” you hear Walken say.

You enter and take a seat in front of his desk.

“So you wanted me to report in?” you ask.

“Two things for today. One, is that Ms Foss needs to do some tests on you. And two, I've gotten reports on how Dunois and the French Government have reacted to the news about Charlotte Dunois.” Walken states.

“What sort of reports?” you ask, curious that Walken was able to find out so quickly.

“As you know, the French government has yet to say anything about the reveal that Charles Dunois was a lie. The news that she is so close to you means that will not pull her out of the Academy. The official announcement will come soon enough, but through diplomatic channels between our governments is good.” Walken answers. “They are in the opinion that staying with you will be the best course of action. Publicly they will probably denounce Dunois Corporation for lying and instead opt for a closer relationship with us. Support for her IS is still in the air as that was originally provided by Dunois Corp. So that will change in the future, probably be taken up by the French Government.” Walken continues.

“Just in case, would it be too much trouble if Charlotte would be able to have the maintenance done here?” you ask.

“I don't see why not? It is your responsibility after all. And we are here to support you. It would be easier for her, especially if Dunois Corp tries to sabotage or otherwise interfere with supplies.” Walken answers.

“And what about the Dunois Corp?” you continue asking.

“Well, reports are a lot more troublesome with them. Their stock has taken a hit and their contract with the Rafele Revive will soon run out. They will have trouble in the future. The report specifically states that there are calls to have her father fired but nothing has come of that yet.” Walken answers.

“I'll keep that in mind. I don't want anything to happen to her.” you reply, worried that some of your paranoia came true.

“That is everything for now. I'll give you a heads up if something new comes in.” Walken says catching onto your worries.

“Thanks for everything Walken.” you reply.

You get up to leave before Walken adds, “Oh I heard from your Grandfather. He is quite interested in your progress. Apparently news of your exploits with the girls has reached his ears and wants to investigate in detail.”
