Ok, people. We've finally finished the paperwork and we can start work on the new world. You've all been chosen to participate on this committee for whatever reason, so now, we need to make a world to impress the guys upstairs. If we successfully make a world and it DOESN'T fall apart, we might get promotions.

First order of business is, what kind of land masses do we want? I've got an ocean set up, but we need to decide the type of land we want to put on.
>>
Here's what we have to work with. It's very...oceany. Fuck, we have to pick some land.

So, do we want
>Lots of small continents/ many islands
>Medium sized continents/ few islands
>One large continent/ nearly no islands
>>
>>36783917
Les have one medium/large sized continent and a huge amount of islands surrounding it.
>>
>>36783917
One big super-continent.
>>
>>36783892
>Dat pic

Fuck, it must have been influenced by goatse.
>>
The Only Reason I agreed on this is to fill credentials to make my own plane. So, lets get this over with. How's an archipelago of many little islands Sound ?
>>
>>36783932
>>36783917
This.
>>
>>36783932
>>36783952
>>36783955

According to the parliamentary rules in the Divine Court, I'm going to need you to identify yourself before you comment. I've got to keep notes otherwise I'll get fired.
>>
>>36783892
>world building committee
>designed by committee
This explains more than you'd think...
>>
>>36783977
I'm >>36783932
>>
>>36783917
Let us have all the islands. I am fine with one central continent, as long as there are islands aplenty. This will be great for making our world diverse.
>>
>>36783932
this is a good idea
>>
>>36783977
Super-continent.
>>
One big giant continent is the way to go. Otherwise one continent will just rise of to dominance and it'll go to shit.
>>
>>36783977
Bloody casuals. The shit you put up with after you pass minor deities. Do you got the memo abou tectonic movements ? Making a huge continent might bite us in the ass in the long run
>>
>>36784042
It's not a 'might', it's a 'will'. There was already a world where we tried going full Pangaea, and look at it now.

Lest we inflict shenanigans with being split by tectonic movements onto our soon-to-be fledgling races, let's just go straight to islands, shall we?
>>
Ok, it seems we're having a little bit of a divide. So, let's have a vote. Please respond to this message and only vote once (Yes, Steve, I know you have multiple heads, but you get ONE vote per consciousness. Don't be a little bitch about it)

Do we want
>One Super Continent
>Various Islands
>>
>>36784087
>>Various Islands
>>
>>36784087
One less than super continent with a huge amount if islands surrounding it.
>>
>>36783932

I support this idea. We can break it off into smaller continents later on if the need arises.
>>
>>36784087
I'm up for islands. As I mentioned above, I wouldn't mind if there's a big continent, as long as there are islands.

Just please, don't make one huge landmass, it is a recipe for racial disaster.
>>
>>36784087
>One Super Continent

Can we at least get two or three islands to go along with it? Maybe a volcanic archipelago?
>>
>>36784087
>Various Islands
>>
>>36784087
One big fucking continent. Imagine the storms and the wastelands.

Imagine he empires
>>
>>36784135
>>36784130
>>36784119
>>36784116
>>36784146
>>36784146
>>36784171
Honestly we seem to have enough of a split decision between islands and super continents, with enough support for my idea >>36784119 and >>36783932
>>
>>36784087
Fuck you, me and my five heads do what we want!

>One big continent named after your main man Streve
>One big continent named after your main man Streve
>One big continent named after your main man Streve
>One big continent named after your main man Streve
>One big continent named after your main man Streve
>One big continent named after your main man Streve
>>
I'd like to put in my vote for the supercontinent.
I'd like huge tracts of land, mountains that touch the sky, deep caves beneath the surface.
Sounds lovely don't you think?
>>
Ok, it seems like we've reach a good consensus that we can have one large continent as long as there are still SOME islands. (I assumed there would be some, since the builders will probably drop some rocks on accident an claim they made the island for 'aesthetics'. our funding isn't that great...)

>>36784207
THAT'S ONE VOTE, STREVE. JUST THE ONE.
>>
Oh, were using a standard sphere? Pity, I was hoping to be assigned a flatworld or floating island.

>>36784087
Aw hell, let's go with islands. Helps with quarantine if one of us messes up on the early days. Just one little flood and whoops, all gone.
Reminds me of one fellow I knew who had to wipe clean a civilisation. Atlantaens? Something like thag
>>
>>36784171
Oh dear, we got a Freshman. At least he is not that Preeny Unconquerable sunshine I worked on the last project, that asshole
>>
>>36784226
Just as planned.
>>
>>36784207
At least spell your own name right, Steve.

Also, >>36784145 passed minor deity class now.
>>
>>36784235
Spider knows the wasteland. Spider knows Signpost.
>>
>>36784234
Ohh, did someone say 'floating island'? I think we may be onto something there~
>>
>>36784293
Floating Islands are all well and good, but how are we going to get them to stay up there on a budget?

More importantly, what are the effects of a hurricane on a floating island?
>>
>Lots of Small Continents, many islands

Oceans mean life! We cannot have everyone simply ignoring the vastness of the ocean. And I need space for my coral reefs
>>
>>36784347
I may have an idea, but we need a lot of sky iron.
Anyone capable of redirecting some minor celestial bodies?
>>
>>36784293
>>36784347
Honestly, considering my domain includes miners I really have to argue against it to be the norm. Aesthetically though.. love them.

Still, maybe a few floating islands wouldn't be bad. Enchanted stone and crystals are classics to power them. Do we have a resident nature deity yet? Enchanted trees causing floating islands could be interesting. Dangerous, but interesting.
>>
>>36784347
Not to mention water source. Unles it got some infinite raining fuckery or you got pals in the water planes, that island is going to turn in a barren rock
>>
>>36784250
Fuck you! Streve will spell his name however he wants!

I can't wait for y'all shitheads to create some people in your stupid little world so that I can make them into douchebags! STREVE RULES!
>>
>>36784380
There are at least two Sea deities here, so rain shouldn't be a massive problem, but we should probably try to avoid the whole ever flowing waterfall thing.
>>
>>36784361
Not after the last incident sir. The first world is still digging up bones from the last time.

>>36784372
I believe we have guidelines on how to make they 'safe'. Apparently placing it above a small ocean makes it 'safe' so we must refer to it as such.
>>
Ok, so I just got off the line with the contractors. This is the rough image they say it will take, but the next time we meet it'll look a lot nicer.

Not that we've got that out of the way, here's the real problem. Our budget is allowing us 3, and only three, sentient races. Now, you've all worked on many different planes, so I'm sure you'll love to share.

But, EVERYONE GETS ONE RACE. Ok? Suggest a race, argue why we should pick that one, and then when it dies down we can vote on which ones we like. I'll abstain so that I can count the votes.
>>
>>36784414
I'll fix up some weather pattens once we are certain of where land is going to go. The sea powers the winds, if you recall
>>
>>36784437
Also, note, that the world has been divided into 4 quadrants on the map. That'll be useful later when we're assigning who is living where and what kind of landmarks to put in each.
>>
>>36784405
Steve, you know Khorne ? The guy with the god killing sword ? First proper project I made was his brass Citadel, he owes me one. If you keep acting like this, you'll see your essence drained faster than you can blink. Now shut yer trap and play along
>>
Hey, are we even going high magic? I missed the last meeting where the budget was discussed.

>>36784437
Three? Shit. Okay, give me a second. Need to check my notes and consolidate.. Can probably lose the beard..

>>36784361
Oh hey, quick check on Domains before we get schisms down the road. You get stone and I get metals? Going to get a fair amount of overlap no matter what.
Need to work out who's the patron of mines and miners too...
>>
>>36784437
I would love to have some mer-folk or sahuagin, but if those are off the table, how about some flying elves?
>>
>>36784360
I agree with deep bodies of water. In the dark depths of marine trenches the there is room for many things to grow and lurk.

With this many seas and other interesting geography surely we must also find a way to utilize the dug out land mass. No reason to let it go to waste.
I propose mountains. A vast mountain range or a single large peak. To give variety and places for different things to exist hidden from the untrained eye.
>>
>>36784437
Alright, alright, hear me out here.

I propose a race of dudes who can shapeshift over time into different forms and materials. Like, their dudes can manipulate their flesh so that they might take on the qualities of a certain animal and really advanced bros could harden their skin over time so that they were as hard as rock. They should also have big dicks so that all dem women of other races be like ooooOooooooOoOOoOoooh and shit. 10/10 race. Someone needs to come up with a good name for these faggots though
>>
it would be nice to have some larger body of water INSIDE the supercontinent, and some islads on it. would make a good bastion or a separated nation on it. also the people in the centre of the land don't have to rely on seasonal waters as much.
>>
>>36784437
Only three sentient races this time? What a horrendous economy we live in.
After the last incident involving those completely wild frog people, I think I shall bind my race to the sea this time. I'm thinking crabs... they're pretty hardy, and such
But if that doesn't work out, I'm building reefs. to make up for all that lack of archipelagos.
>>
>>36784437
Really? I'd like to speak for mine then.
Their names I don't know, they haven't told me what their name is yet.
They are earth and stone and ancient bone.
They walk in deep places and along where the earth takes them.
Their skin is stone or sand or slate, and their eyes are gemstones burning in the night.
They move like man, they speak like grinding earth and mountain slides.
They see in dark as easy as day, but the sun blinds them when they aren't used to it.
They dig their way through the world and create their cities beneath the earth or on the endless dunes of sand, their craft is impressive as it is timeless.
They are stoic, they are quiet, and they are happy.

>>36784500
I had figured you were more for the creation of things, for the carved and worked. And I was of the natural state, the mountain and the cave and the ore, not the city and the bridge and the sword like you.
>>
>>36784437
I say we go with Dwarves. Tough and redolent, higher chances of survivability if we fuck it up. Which we probably will
>>
>>36784437
With only three races surely there will be some leftover material. Not much, but enough for lone, unique creatures to exist. Not much mass is required for such things compared to dominant races with large populations.

Surely there is beauty in uniqueness of one of a kind creatures that will never dominate the land but give it something.. different
>>
>>36784482
A few words to say before you are able to do so, you will be in front of me? In order that a bed television, and because they are hid Al- top class Seals My fleet, you know it was more than 300 established me in swaddling clothes. But it is not, does not exist, and now we're a fool, is the price. 1 fury of shit, your life. You are the people who get killed.
>>
how about some avian species, living in the mountains' frozen clouds/whatever. They would make nice overseers for the first few millenia before the rest can get to them, pretty sure intelligent carnivorous birds, if made properly, could nicely prolong the dark ages, and at the same time providing a common foe, a motor for innovation
>>
>>36784347
Magnets! No really, magnetic rock on a geosynchronous orbit at low altitude just above a magnetic rock deposit of the opposite polarity. Follow so far? Good~

>>36784380
We'll get water elementals to operate the whole water cycle thing. The poor guys rarely even get summoned, much less see society; they'll grab this offer dead, hook, line, and sinker.

>>36784437
...Aaaand here we go, calling northwest quadrant's minor isles for floating ones~
>>
>>36784552
I agree about Dwarves.

It would be a waste to let all those underground landmasses go unexplored and exploited. They are like the sea. They give a new dimension to potential areas of Creation. The surface is flat. There is limited room but the underground gives us all more room to show what we really can do with this place. We need a race to dwell in them.
>>
>>36784600
Water elementals, you say? I'll get right on that once you've figured out how to ignore this worlds gravity AGAIN...
>>
>>36784600
We can talk about the landmarks and extra stuff after we finish the big things like this. Plus the contractors need to build the stuff first.

>>36784500
Magic is the next thing on the agenda after we've got this life thing down.
>>
>>36784625
Honestly? Dwarves are so lackluster, and overdone.
It's the same thing over and over again, grab a lump of clay, squeeze half heartedly, animate. Done.
Boring.

Not to mention I don't like the little bastards.
>>
>>36784625
How about we divide the world up into three areas for the three different races.

The mermen/slaughtainfuckheads/ and crab people get the ocean

The dwarfs get the underground areas of the super continent.

The other race gets the surface.

Tat way, they can all peacefully evolve in their own ways and form unique cultures.
>>
>>36784659
At least they're not the races that were added in my last project. Once they settled onto the second continent, they just murdered everything they found, land and sea alike.

Ahh, what were they called again..? Oh yes. 'Humans'
>>
>>36784437
While completely supportive of these arguments for flying/water-dwelling species, as well as avians, I'd like to make the case for a feline race. Nothing like those untamed worlds of catgirls or wild beasts or anything; but something with qualities that let them stalk prey easily and adapt to the night, trees, and have cuddling qualities.

Just a suggestion. None of us exist, anyways, so you can pretend I didn't say this if you don't like it.
>>
>>36784696
That's what I'm saying, if we're all going to be unimaginative like that we might as well just go with the human dwarf and elf formula, ugh.
>>
>>36784659
But think of all those things of beauty and awe formed of rock and mineral. So many underground caverns and mineral deposits, all one of a kind, just waiting, never to be seen unless there is someone to discover them.

I'm not saying that it should be Dwarves. Those buggers keep digging up things they are not ment to but we do need something to fill that niche.
>>
>>36784626
Well uh, you should have listened to the first part of my suggestion I think. I mean, I could always just go 'We'll power it with shiny magic crystals and more magic!', but it's getting kind of cliche.

>>36784504
Flying elves sounds good. In fact, floating islands and flying elves sounds very good. This has my blessing.
>>
>>36784600
And the moment the first fucking wizard casts a bloody teleportation spell in the island risks to reverse the pull. Too risky. I speak of experience : Mortal WILL fuck the natural order of things if you give them half a chance

Ah, gotcha. Might see if I can apply for an extended Domain, be a god of the Craft than the Forge. Can't overspecialise in a small pantheon like this.
So, share miners? A crafted space within the wild.

>>36784552
Dwarves? A little old hat. We won't impress by making another man-dorf-elf world.

>>36784437
Right. Right, okay. Got my ideas down. Got a druid god friend, helps design these things.
Grab a basic kobold, maybe nab some from a world about to be destroyed. They're fairly good diggers and artificers already -yes of course that's why I'm suggesting them I'm Forge- now increase the eyes for low light. Give them some natural armor, make them more.. Burrowing than normal.
And there we get a distinctive digging inquisitive inventive race with minimal hassle.
Plus we don't have to get any gnomes, overpriced dwarf knock-offs...
>>
>>36784701
I feel like your the type of god who wears a fedora and gets angry when I get my favored races to make fun of your animes.
>>
So far, this is the possible list (very generalized)
>Merfolk
>Shapeshifters (NOT RAPE MACHINES, STREVE. But I'm fond of shapeshifters)
>Dwarves
>Elementals of different flavors
>Avians
>Flying Elves
>Beastfolk
>Specialized Kobolds

Am I missing anything?

>>36784701
...How did Central approve your dominion? The paperwork must have been horrendous.
>>
>>36784600
Magnets might work okay on a small scale, but I think we'll need something bigger to get a real floating islands feel instead of just hovering islands.

>>36784625
>>36784626
That might work, sure, but don't feel it would be wrong to chain water elementals for mere aesthetics?
>>
>>36784437
Obviously what is needed is chocolate Elves
>>
>>36784738
>>36784751
I don't exist. You're just speaking to the air.

I rarer we avoid the traditional races and instead try something new. How about avian and insectoid races for a change?
>>
>>36784764
No. We do not need chocolate elves. Not after the last time.
>>
>>36784715
Well ya, I already gave my suggestion towards that, but I don't know if anyone likes it.

>>36784735
Sharing the miners is fine by me, we just have to make sure they take it at a good steady pace.

>>36784756
We can make it float with magnets, or some sort of concentrated magical ore. We will have to wait until the magic is hammered out first though.

>>36784773
I like them. Fly little ones, tear free from the tethers of the earth.
But never forget where you must roost.
>>
>>36784751
Since the standard dwarf/elf/generic bipedal design isn't gaining popularity perhaps we should consider something.. mineral to take the place of an underground race.

They would live in a world of rock and mineral so it would only be fit for them to be composed of those materials. Then the depths of the landmass could support them without the need of other biomass and we could consentrate our "living" material on other things. Brains of silicon and crystal, muscles of copper. Think of the savings! Minerals are cheap compared to living material.

Perhaps some sort of sentient automatons or replicating machines
>>
>>36784783
Are you referring to when we invited the god of Deviants and the god of Traditional Games?

>>36784773
Well if we wanted something not of the norm why not pick something not of the flesh? Crystal and metal people? Personally a race of Elementals tickles my mind in just the right spot.
>>
>>36784773
Considering that levitating islands are being considered, an avian species may well be the best decision. Otherwise there would be no point to even placing the islands up there, besides looking pretty.
>>
Looks like we're going for an Air-Water-Earth triumvate here. Keep it in mind when creating your religion, mortals love elemental symbolism.

>>36784751
Could we fold the avians and elves into one? Some kind of pointy eared or crested bird.. Feathered elf hybrid.

>>36784773
Artificers? This is going to be one cramped corner of the pantheon..
Guess I still have arms and armour.
>>
>>36784751
The guys at Central have a twisted sense of humour, trust me. It probably took him less than the application form for an angel-to-exarch promotion for one's subordinates.
>>
>>36784805
>>36784549
>>36784822
Yes. Your idea has some potential. I am behind it
>>
>>36784773
IIRC there was an insect race in Dark Sun. Anyway, there's something to be said for the classics.

>>36784771
Maybe if you went back to minor deity class you could could come back with some kind of magic crystals or anti-gravity wells that could give our floating islands plan a boost.
>>
A race with souls like candle flames and wings fashioned of wax. Bony frames barely containing their spirits, they build themselves of wax.
>>
>>36784842
Please don't Remind me of this....it was almost as bad when I was assigned Slanesh's palace
>>
>>36784771
Wait, how can you be responding to me if we are both just hypothetical thin air. Checkmate, god hood confirmed.

>>36784751
Why do you always got to assume the worst of me!? A man makes a little rape tentacle monster once and suddenly he is the bad guy, FUCK YOU AND YOUR RACISM! Down with the godarchy!
>>
>>36784869
I would like to ask how these floating islands would last; even in the air they are not immune to the wear and tear of the winds inevitably brought on my the seas
>>
>>36784860
Ugh. I hate those motherfuckers. I've been working for them doing their shitty paperwork for EONS and I have JUST gotten a promotion to start building planets. Disgusting...

>>36784822
That'd fall under Elementals. If we picked elementals we'd have to vote on their types.

So, since this is the list we're going with, let's have another round of voting. Vote for your three favorites, each will be given a point, and then the three with the most points will be decided. (Only vote for one race once. Three votes for one race per God will only equal 1 point)

>Merfolk
>Shapeshifters
>Dwarves
>Elementals (All non-organic lifeforms)
>Avians
>Flying Elves
>Beastfolk
>Specialized Kobolds
>Insectoids

Sounds more like a construct than a divine race.
Wait, how much sway did Barbers have in your home realm for you to ascend?

>>36784919
That's why I'm thinking trees. The earth is weathered, the tree dies. As it does, the island slowly sinks. Meanwhile, the tree will have already seeded, and the lucky few trees that survive will pull their own island up once they mature.
>>
>>36784923
HA, you actually had to work for your promotion like a little pleb. All of my relatives are chief gods in Executive, they got me my job before my tenth century of godhood! It actually explains a lot about why they constantly fuck with us.
>>
>>36784975
>Merfolk
>Flying Elves
>Elementals

I'm willing to go with Avians over flying elves if that expedites things.
>>
>>36784975
My votes go to Merfolk, Elementals and Avians; they can relish in the bounty of the sea!
>>
>>36784975
My favourites are the shapeshifters, the elementals(earth to be specific), and a mixture of the elves and avians.(one race, not half point each, if I ave to pick. Avians.)

>>36785007
It also explains your insufferable attitude.

>Elementals (All non-organic lifeforms)
>Beastfolk

>Avians
>Elementals (All non-organic lifeforms)
>Merfolk

I'd vote for Dwarves, Elementals, and Beastfolk. But emphasis on the beast part . If I hear a single "Nya" I swear to me.....
>>
>>36784975
I am voting three times because I am tired of fighting with your stupid shit, not because I still don't think that each of my heads deserve a vote.

>Shapeshifters
>Specialized Kobolds
>Beastfolk
>>
>>36784975
>Merfolk
>Insectoids
>Elementals
I just hope that there will be room for a handful of unique creations of beauty that will never form true societies or races, just exist in the obscured hidden parts of the world.
But that is talk for later. Yes
>>
>>36784948
Okay...so, Jor gets the wild and uncrafted things. I get those crafted by mortal hands, and you get items imbued with the arcane, specifically the enchantment?
I don't want to lose influence over a mastersmithed blade only because there's a basic glamour on it.
Like how miners are between wild and crafted?? So say.. Share enchanted arms and armour, you get golems and all other magical artifacts? Jewelry and trinkets included.

>>36784975
Merfolk
Avian (elven influence)
Kobold
>>
>>36784975
>Flying Elves
>Insectoids
>Merfolk

Makes for balance in the air, land, and sea, don't you think?

>>36784919
The soil and rock circulates in the same fashion as water does. The particles that a wind erodes from one place, end up in another - that is the natural cycle of all things, not just rain. In fact, even the rain carries particles of soil and matter, it is not made of crystal clear waters.

As for the power source, aside from magnets I will hold from voicing further options, as most of them are bound to rely on magic, as is my domain, after all.
>>
>>36785078
We'll get to that when we get to landmarks. We'll probably have enough left over for Guardian Spirits/Unique Creatures.
>>
>>36785034
>insufferable attitiude
>from the guy who voted for elves

We all know that anybody who votes for elves is just a sexual deviant.

Oooh! Nyaa!

Why don't you wanna chaos?
>>
>>36785123
Ah yes, before I forget. Since we are both Sea gods, we should really discuss what domains we both have. If you get the life, shall I take the weather?
>>
>>36785107

Seen reasonable.
>>
>>36785115
I don't see what sexuality has to do with attitude.
And I am hardly the worst, it is not like I voted for the kobolds.
>>
>>36785123
I have come here to make sure your foolishness is contained.

>>36784975
>ShapeShifters
>Avians
>Dwarves

The more simple your races are the better, no one can relate to a walking pile of stones, except teddy the god of stone but we don't talk anymore.
>>
>>36784982
The use of barber shops as places of open discussion and community eventually evolved the haircuttery into a decision-making institution with barbers at the head. This led to an interesting system of government with the greatest stylists being given positions of great power.
>>
>>36785173
YOU LEAVE THE KOBOLDS OUT OF THIS, YOU LITTLE PLEB. I WILL FIND A WAY TO MAKE YOUR ROCKS BE DOUCHEY TO YOU, YOU SEXUAL DEVIANT.
>>
>>36785123
*Sigh* I'm not paid enough for this shit
>>
>>36785164
That sounds wonderful. Fishermen will pray for my favor when casting their line and yours when hauling their catch to shore.
>>
>>36784975
>Merfolk
>Avians
>Insectoids

I'd say this lends itself to a nice balance for the races' natural habitats.
>>
>>36785219
None of us are Kal, take solace in that.

>>36785200
That would be quite a feat.
Seeing you actually accomplish something would be one as well.
And please refrain from shouting, there is no need for that.
>>
>>36785220
Then so let it be done! Of course, this does mean I have to figure out where the rain is going to go...
>>
>>36785165
>>36785034
Unshaped, Crafted, Enchanted.. Three stages?

Hmm, might be something in a pantheon of civilisation here. Talk to me once we set this planet up, see what we can hash out. Might be able to get a faith dominance.

>>36785192
You'll have to show me around your realm if it still endures some time, sounds fascinating.

>>36785173
Wait, are they a sexualised thing? I'm bad at recognising that. Mortal-ascended gods are far better at working with the little ones.
>>
>>36785255
I think causing rocks to fall is well within the realm of douchebaggery. We should be cautious lest he bring ruin to our fledgling creations.
>>
Unrelated to the current discussion at hand, I think that we could really go for some fossils. Just for the sheer confusion they will cause once the mortal races discover them.

Oh well, I getting carried away. Let's get back to the task at hand.
>>
So, what am I supposed to be ? I mean, I was created in a different system , concepts instead of domains. I am the concept of creation itself but most of you guys seem to got that covered. Anyone minding if I take architecture and engineering ?
>>
>>36785285
I honestly don't know, I just never liked the little rodents.
The way they are fawned over is not any sort of attractive either.
And the three stages sound fine, I'd give it some theatrical flair though.

>>36785297
Rocks will fall, water will roil, air will blow.
These are naught but natural, it is not something you should ascribe to him.
>>
SO! the votes have been counted. The winners are

>Merfolk
>Elementals
>Avians

Now we get to decide the basics of each race. THIS IS NOT VOTING, just suggestions to discuss

Merfolk
>Amphibian or Sea-bound?
>More Humanoid or fish-like?
>What kind are they based on?

Elementals
>We only have a budget for 5 types. What kind would be best for an early-stage world?

Avians
>What kind of shape?
>More Humanoid or bird-like?
>How effective should their flying be? Do we need to give them hollow bones?
>6 limbs (arms, legs, wings) or 4 (wings and legs)
>>
>>36785361
>Water will roil, air will blow
I think you'll find that that's my job to make that happen. These sorts of things would never happen if one of us had not made the laws to do so
>>
>>36785352
I think you fit in well with the raw->manufactured->enchanted thing we have going on, but if you like. I

think we're also missing a god of air if you're looking for something more elemental.
>>
>>36785352
I would peg you for structure.
Architecture, yes, large scale engineering.

>>36785386
Air, Earth, Fire, Water, Wood.
Those are a good start, I'd say.

>>36785399
Very well, I am not too familiar with those domains I do admit.
However earth will call to earth, it is only natural for rocks to fall, for they seek to become closer to themselves.
>>
>>36785416
A god of air? I think you're forgetting someone... The air is at the mercy of storms.
>>
>>36785386
I'll speak of Elementals first . I think we should stray away from the classic four if possible. How bout combinations of the four basics ? I made a project on paraelementals a couple millennia ago
>>
Hope i haven't offended anyone with my tardiness.
If my vote gets in i would like to see dwarfs, elementals, and Beastfolk thank you for listening.
>>
>>36785297
>causing rocks to fall
Now I think about it, better keep the floating islands to a minimum with him around.

>>36785352
I think you could maybe take the Chief of Gods domain? Another Craft-god could get tricky.
Maybe Kingship as a domain? Odin certainly got by with Wisdom and Leadership.

>>36785361
I thought I'd adjusted them enough that they were distinct. Pity they didn't win.

>>36785386
Earth is a good start. Basic rock and dirt. Can build themselves up slowly to metals and golems.
>>
>>36785439
The air allows itself to be moved by the storm.
It is not comprised of it.
The storm and the air are different, but they are siblings.
>>
>>36785475
True enough. My apologies, like my storms I had gotten a bit hasty
>>
>>36785361
There are things that should be ascribed to me. I am the force behind when you stub your toe. I know and control when you accidentally drop your bowls of creation juice. When your people fuck up on a massive degree, I am the one who orchestrated it. Or I could be fucking with you and my powers do nothing.Douchebaggery is a portfolio that many people underestimate and do not understand, you shall in time.
>>
>>36785386
>merfolk
I'd prefer sahuagin to classic fish-men, but I'm flexible.

>Elementals
Water, Fire, Stone, Wax, Suprise

>Avians
Let's go with the bird-beastmen. I like the owlish ones the most.
>>
>>36785352
Just remember to sign the ET 23 form and send it in triplets to central. They can be a bitch when it comes to paperwork.

>>36785386
>Merfolk
Amphibian sounds better to me, will make it easier for them to interact with the others. I was thinking we make them serpentine. Then they can slither on both land and water.

>Elementals
Air, Fire, Earth, Water and magical elementals?

>Avians
Harpy shaped but with arms and wings both. I am leaning towards more Humanoid shaped. The matter of hollow bones would depend on if they used magic to support their flying or not.
>>
>>36785511
It's your shenanigans that cause our worshippers to lose faith, But then again, I suppose you're that guy who had those worshippers who understood that you hated them unconditionally. As well as excessive amounts of silicone and protein shakes.
>>
>>36785386
>Merfolk
I say sea-bound but with tolerance for wide range of water enviroments so that both shorelines and deep ravines can be populated. Just make sure they don't feel too at home in the far depths. Some places should remain mysterious.

>Elementals
-Crystal and gem
-Mud. Basic. Formless
-Naturally the water and air elementals
-Something primordial lurking below. The details are better not be shared with others for that would be against their nature.

>Avian
I vote for 6 limbs but hope for somewhat limited flight to limit their area of dominance. Some high peaks and distant valleys should prove a challenge to reach even for a race with wings and flight.
>>
>>36785386
Sorry I'm late, comes with the territory.
>Merfolk
I'm thinking amphibious, but more fish-like, sorta like the "Lungfish" some worlds have.
>Elementals
No major opinion here, I'd go with the Fire-Earth-Water-Wood-Metal some worlds have.
>Avians
Definitely need to be good flyers, so stick with the hollow bone design the normal birds have. 6 limbs would be ideal, but I'm not sure about humanoid vs. birdlike.
>>
>>36785386
One request cloud elementals, perfect for floating islands as well
>>
>>36785386
Let us base Merfolk on oarfish. Because of the colours, bright red and white.

For elementals, I like this suggestion - >>36785434
I once saw a scheme where there were Metal AND Earth elementals. I mean, what.

As for the avians, 6 limbs please... four-limbed ones have developmental issues and may lag behind the other races lest the other ones also are impaired in the same way. And yes, hollow bones sounds good; there is no point in avians if their flight is not effective.

>>36785458

>Merfolk
Amphibian, salamander-like in build.

>Elementals
Wax, for the world not yet set like a fresh-blown candle.
Earth, for the cold, everpresent constant of the world.
Water, for kayaks & shit.
Air for the wild forces of change.
Hair for the hair god.

>Avian
Gryphons, man. Just think of the long, luxuriant manes just waiting to be styled.
>>
>>36785285

We could call it the the Triumvirate of Creation? Craftsmanship?

>Merfolk
I am leaning to Amphibian Humanoids

>Elementals
Metals, Nonferrous solids, Gases, Liquids and fire or plasma however you want to call it.

>Avians
6 Limbed with good fly capabilities. I favor a beast-like demeanor .
>>
>>36785386
I'm thinking for the elementals, we shall have the base four, and four which are combinations of two

Fire & Earth - Magma
Fire & Air - Ash
Water & Earth - Mud
Water & Air - Cloud
>>
Am I the only one who thinks we should nix the whole water people angle? Water leads to shrinkage with most materials used to make trousers. Less water, less worries, am I right?
>>
>>36785645
Simply call it the Triumvirate of Creation.
>>
>>36785636

It's not really my place to judge the future nature of the Merfolk and Avian races for they don't directly fall within my domain.

What I wish is for some places to remain mysterious and give room for things to grow and develop out of the sight of the mortal eye. Something to be discovered, feared and awed. Things they do not know about.
>>
Morning all, how is everyone? I brought muffin baskets!

>>
>>36785729
Oh, don't mind if I do. I'll take the strangely shaped bottom one.

>>36785623
Ah good evening Lady Arcaneries you know how i am after i wake from a nap, we didn't finnish it did we? i must have dozzed off again oh my
>>
>>36785714
With two sea gods on this committee, you're going to have a hard fight with that opinion.
>>
>>36785729
I can't eat muffins.

I'm a sentient tornado.
>>
>>36785386
Amphibian, its far less interesting if the various mortals can't interact.
Maybe bioluminescent? That's always nice.

Let's have the avians a little more birdlike, good flying, but yes honeycomb bones. And four limbs. It's just lazy design when working with avians to nail the wings on separately.

As for the elementals.. I think we need one for nature and plants. I think we lack a nature deity? Of patience and wild things.
One of lightning and iron, ambitious and determined.
Another of ice and wind. Analytical and "cold".
An arcane one too would be good. Inquisitive and scholarly.
Hmm, unsure of a fifth.
>>
>>36785660
I'm liking this angle on the elementals. Maybe replace mud with wood, though. Mud elementals would look too much like earth elementals that got wet.
>>36785729
Wow, more like Ganneiyn the *last* Father. The god of being lost got here before you. At least you picked up the good muffins this time.
>>
>>36785760
Sure, it's plump helmet flavour.
*Sits in a chair as it finishes growing and weaving itself, beginning eating a freshly grown and baked loaf of bread*
>>
>>36785773

I've never strayed from a fight before. Won't start now.
>>
>>36785793
Wood is a much better idea than Mud, I shall agree. Besides, mud can just go to the Earth elementals anyway. And I'm pretty sure Kalarn suggested a nature elemental...
>>
>>36785793
I'm a fertility god, I'm busy most of the time *Chuckling as a grapevine ferments itself into wine *
>>
>>36785660
I mean, we could have the different mixtures of Elementals. And it would actually help give some of the elementals immunity from just killing each other when they met (Remember the time when we forgot to give the Fire and Water elementals immunity? Damn...)

But we'll have to take some of the funds away from later projects to do it.
>>
>>36785794
First Father? What Domain or Concept is that? A god of family, perhaps?
>>
>>36785829
I swear to us all, if you mess up my carpet again.
Do you have any idea how hard it is to get semen and amniotic fluid out of ceramic weave?
>>
>>36785829
Oh my. A male fertility god. Your kind is rare to see. Always pleasant to see something different from the generic childbearing motherly fertility god. The male side always gets forgotten.
>>
>>36785843
Oh gosh, I remember that. The Fire elemental exploded... Not sure what happened to the water one. I think it got turned to gas.
>>
>>36785729
Wow, muffins. No one has ever actually brought the snacks before...
>>
>>36785880
Hey, it's a pretty good job all things considered, free food, and fertility goddesses throwing themselves at you. My domain is family, and fertility in general, mostly farming.
>>
So, voting time. Avians first

>6 limbed avians, average flying ability (more technologically adept, but less movement or flying)
>4 limbed avians, exceptional flying ability (less technology, but able to spread out more)
>>
>>36785883
How do you think the Cloud god got those nasty burns? Always remember to check the temperature of any "cloud" you try to sit on.
>>
>>36785780
>Amphibian, its far less interesting if the various mortals can't interact.

Amphibious is good, but I'd like to not have some kind of frog or salamander race. There's plenty of interaction to be had when the avians get a hankering for seafood.
>>
>>36785880
Except by Druidic gods.
Last world I had, the entire continent I had any sway in had giant pictures of men with giant genitalia all over it.
>>
>>36785954

Should make for a more interesting approach to things.

>>36785954

I'm sticking with owl-beastmen.

6 limbs, you can't craft much with only wings and none of us would be pleased with that
>>
>>36786111
I got message from the contractors, it won't be ready until the next meeting. But when that happens we'll have a much better map and the plates will have stopped shifting, so we'll have the start of some mountains too
>>
>>36785645
Alright I have an elemental opinion.
Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, Arcane
The four elements of the world and the binding energies of them all.
>>
>>36786135
Clearly you've never witnessed the dexterity of a determined crow.
>>
>>36786153
Mountains? Just say the word. You may not want anything alive to be on the ground when that happens though.

>>36786166

>>
>>36786153

>>
>>36786166
The classic 4 might be a little overdone. Also, I'm not sure what an arcane elemental would look like.

I'm serious about the surprise elementals though. Something like boggarts from Harry Potter. Only as dangerous as you imagine them to be.
>>
Ok. So the avians will have 6 limbs. I'll put in the order.

Next, Elementals.
>Fire, Water, Earth, Air, and Arcane
>4 elements and Nature/Wood
>4 elements and their combinations (With 8 choices, we'll need to lower the funding on a later project)

>>36786239
We'll be meeting tomorrow at about the same time.
>>
>>36786305

>Fire, Water, Earth, Air, and Arcane

>>36786109
Hah, have -you- ever been to the House of Comfort? Oh, what am I saying... of course you don't.

I'll tell you, it all starts with just visiting casually and stopping by to rest for a few minutes... next thing you know, you are postponing important meetings and missing prayers as you lounge around. Infinite pillows, infinite hot drinks... do you know what happens when your faithful almost-Lady-of-Teadrinking meets an infinite supply of tea?

You don't want to know.
>>
>>36786305
No room for primordial elementals? Shame.
I suppose that we can work with 4 elements and nature as long as the nature is location specific. That would give us some room to work with and adapt them uniquely to various locations. Perhaps it would even be possible to mold them into something to suit my interests. Yes

>4 Elements and Nature
>>
>>36786305
>4 elements and Wood
I like the idea of combinations, but we can add some later as unique creations if we have the spare funding.

>>
>>36786377
Is there a library or a cellar.
I like libraries. So many forgotten things and dusty tomes. Cellars are nice too. Plenty of things to be found or lost. Almost like fridges or the undersides of sofa pillows. So many precious things forgotten. There are pillows, yes? Things people drop when they sit on them?

Can I come and visit?
>>
>>36786221
Thank you the classic 4 while done a lot still have much that can be done, also their utility.
>>36786283
The classic 4 have been done time and time again however they have much more that can be done to them they are by no means done it quite yet. Also an arcane would be a being of pure energy of a being of undetermined color with our runes engraved into its very being naturally.

Any specifics on undead determined yet?

Suggestion: Most forms of undead sweat hate, evil, and malice for all that lives as a physical substance resembling congealed blood. This substance is usually either purplish or reddish-black in hue, determined by how old and powerful the undead is. Vampires and liches don't do this, but most other forms (including bodiless forms like ghosts and specters), do.

The substance can be harvested and used for alchemical purposes, but it must be handled carefully, as it is one of the most poisonous substances in the world, and concentrations higher than a few nanograms are seriously harmful to almost all forms of life.

Its not set in stone by any means, just a suggestion.

Half and Half it is. So we have

>The classic four elements and a 'nature' elemental
>50/50 split on the merfolk with some variety in their types.

>>
>>36786776
Will we be able to secure more funding for this world from central so we can import more races and other goodies?
>>
>>36786804
Several salamanders go through changes midway through life to either be more suited to land or more suited to water. Salamander folk could do this too, possibly. Living an amphibious lifestyle and then eventually making "the choice" and becoming fully land or fully water.
>>
>>36786811
It'll really depend on where they go. They'll probably be a sort of plant elemental that changes depending on where it lives.

>>36786818
If we do this right and prove we won't waste it, we can probably get more funding down the road.

I know where I'll be for the time being.

Well, we haven't decided magic, and I'm not sure what we could do with undead since we don't have any traditional humanoid races yet. We can bring it up at the next meeting.

She is fated to be found in a dark place and she will be a bit bigger. More than that I will not share.

I think I know where she is.. Darn thing climbed right up against my unmentionables.

Anyways, time for the sweet sleep of stone.

You could have them mainly be the inhabitants of an unpleasant afterlife of sin and damnation.

But thats for later when there are more sentient life forms. A life form must be sentient to be capable of sin, or so I'm told.

Heres another suggestion; the planar locations which normally require magic to reach, are much smaller, but can be reached by simple physical travel, and don't require any magic or planar travel to reach.

For example; Dig far enough down and you reach the underworld. In some area of the world's underground component is the source of all heat, a region filled with fire and lava, which is the source of the fire elemental plane. Somewhere in one of the oceans is a giant whirlpool that spews up a limitless supply of water, sucking it back down as well so that oceans are in constant flux as per normal oceans.

These locations should be well away from mortal habitations, so that they don't either A, stupidly wander into them, or B, get destroyed by being to close to them.
