Welcome to Academy City. The time is afternoon, the weather is chilly, and the date is December 28.

You are Kyril Torikov, and you were looking for a sword. Said sword was allegedly the reason that England was at war with France and Germany. It was called Joyeuse. A few months ago, it was stolen from the French. Between now and then, several other people had been in possession of it. The current owner, for a given definition of ownership in regards to stolen property, was Sparky. Asuka had given it to her, partly as a gift, partly as a souvenir. Thus it was natural that the French, and those in their employ, would want it back. It didn’t help that it was Code M. Thus its recovery had fallen within your purview.

The current taskforce had split up to do their assigned work. Ben-jii and Kaoru were off trying to keep the thief well within the borders of the City. There was a good chance the thief was also Code M so it was best to leave it to the two of them. Sparky, and your boss Nayuta, were in charge of all manner of electronic surveillance and tracking. That left you and Asuka to do some legwork. The team needed eyes on the ground and there were two people you think that could help you with that. The first was THIEF. You were sure if anything high profile was being stolen then they would know something about it. Or so Asuka told you. The other option was to get in contact with Third Echelon. You think having over 9000 little sisters would be good for something. It also helped that they were the third best hacker in the city. Each would also cost something different. One was professional, the other personal. Decisions, decisions,

It wasn’t surprising that you already had your sister’s contact information. You were pretty sure she was responsible for that. She was an electromaster after all. The directions led you to a small dormitory building. Aside from looking like any other dormitory building, you caught the way the camera tracked you. Slight discolouration on the walls indicated hidden panels. Nothing showed up on up thermals. Had you possessed x-ray vision, you suspected that it’d be lined with lead as well.

Last Order sat at a set up much like Nayuta did. The only difference was that she had a huge couch, it was all well lit, and the screens were those of games. She was piloting a spaceship, or several, on one and managing a spreadsheet in another. Numbers, words, and other important information flashed by so fast that even you had a hard time parsing.

“Ah, onii-san and Asuka-sama came to play, continue operations with the Guiding Hand Social Club while I deal with this says Misaka says Misaka as she relays her instructions to her corporation.”

Turning away from the monitors, you wanted to greet her in turn. Instead she leapt up, climbing on to your shoulders, and removed your helmet with a hiss. The helmet clattered on to ground as she held your head close as you froze. It seemed like an eternity before Asuka interrupted,

“Worry not. This room is well shielded from prying eyes.”

It wasn’t that you were worried. If anything you were surprised.

“Come down Mishka, your brother finds it awkward to hug you back like,” Asuka continued.

Slowly and reluctantly, Last Order climbed down in to your waiting arms. Then she frowned.

“Ah, Misaka recognises that look says Misaka says Misaka as she complains about more work.”

“You don’t have to if you don’t want to,” you began.

“No, no, Misaka will only do it if onii-san does Misaka a favour, says Misaka says Misaka as she dictates her terms.”

No harm in hearing her out.

You accepted. Hell you were prepared to apply for leave, or vacation, if you could. It was something you’d do anyway but there was no taking chances, or tempting fate.

“I suppose The Railgun shall be ecstatic to learn her Aniki is not only alive, but had hidden himself from her using justifiable but blatantly untrue reasons,” Asuka mused, “I am sure she will understand how far the deception had to go and not consider it a personal betrayal of the worst kind.”

“Wai, wai, Misaka shall get in contact with our mothers straight away,” Last Order said.

You could ponder that predicament later. For now, you needed more eyes on the ground.

“Misaka supposes Misaka could be volunteered to the task says Misaka says Misaka as she ponders the logistical difficulties.”

Walking back to her couch, she picked up a keyboard and started typing away. Parts of her hair pointed one way or another. You think she was utilising the unique network she happened to be the administrator of.

“Wah, Misaka’s corporation has been defeated through brute force,” Last Order continued, “Good, #10842 and #10855 have made significant inroads to the Icelandic economy to begin purchasing properties. Have #10777 move in as soon as possible to begin subversion of CCP and the local government. Misaka shall not take this attack lying down. New assignment, priority family, tracking theft of Joyeuse, Asuka-sama’s gift to the original, says Misaka says Misaka as she issues orders based on the situation.”

“All that is left is to wait then?” Asuka asked.

Last Order nodded.

“Well then I suppose this would be a good time to finish a conversation that was rudely interrupted,” she had turned to you.

“Asuka-sama is not staying to play says Misaka says Misaka as she asks with slight trepidation.”

“It’s an adult conversation,” you finally said, “It won’t take long.”

“Alright, there’s a private room that way says Misaka says Misaka as she gives onii-san his privacy.”

Stepping in you found a bedroom. It was lived in. There was a mirror and desk with makeup scattered about its surface. Five could easily have used the bed and still have space to be comfortable. The overall décor was a subdued purple. Last Order was up to something. After the two of you relocated Asuka finally started,

“At first, I was concerned that you would not be the Kyril I know, but now I know for certain. How are you doing it?”

You didn’t follow.

“There is something wrong with your mind,” she explained, “I can see small glimpses of the old Kyril from time to time but ultimately you are a different person. I am not averse to change but all I have seen is a well-oiled machine, a puppet, one too smart to simply play his part.”

She reached down and held your hands. Without your Ability allowing you to mimic normal limbs then she’d have trouble lifting them. Either way you couldn’t feel it, confused as you were.

“I trusted Kyril and that did not work as well as I had hoped. Now you are left to take his place, wanting to take his place. It is like a second chance but unlike him I cannot feel you, I cannot envision you being happy, or any other complex emotion. Maybe some part of it died along with Kyril. How can I love someone like that? How can I trust a man who wears a mask?”

I'm just sitting here trying to figure out what the hell to say here and I'm drawing blanks. Big stupid blanks.

"My brain may have been damaged but not to the extent where I can't feel anything. Fundamentally I'm the same person mostly. However the situation has shifted so I can't exactly be who I used to be."
>>
>>37420925
This. Ask her to help us relearn normal emotions
>>
>>37420925
I kind of feel like we should be honest that Kyril isn't exactly the same person anymore. But that she is fundamentally misreading him because as emotionless as he seems so far he still has emotions for sure so he could be happy.
>>
>>37420483
"I'll just have to do what every person has done as a child and learn to feel all over again. I may not be exactly the same as the old Kyril, but maybe with time I'll become someone who can stand where he once did."
>>
Maybe the brain the damage affected more than my ability...

When I woke up, I wasn't even sure who or what I was.

but before I woke up in that wrecked lab, I dreamed about you the lewd pastebin en frances

and I'm sacred. I got a second chance, but its not free and I don't even want to think what kind of "failsafes" the City put in me. And after I pissed them off so much? I don't know if I'll ever be able to leave my new "job" as their attack dog.

Everyone who know I'm VERDICT gets marked as "Marked as potential compromising agent." The fucking computer they put in my head lists my own mother as a threat and "approach with extreme caution."

I love you and want to be with you but considering the position I'm in, I wouldn't blame you if you walked away....

"You're not wrong, Asuka. I died once, and part of me may never be the same. But what remains of the old Kyril is still there, and in time I can only hope that means I'll get back some of who I used to be."

"But for now, all I can do is try."
>>

This sounds good.

Asuka liked it when Kyril was direct and she likes being pursued.

Tack on something to the effect of "but I really hope you don't." to the end.

Maybe throw in something about how we're not going to lose her again or something. That could backfire, but it might also work. Maybe something like "I'm going to do everything I can to make sure I don't lose you again"

She also dislikes it when he's being too cliche, so I'd say the "not going to lose you" really isn't appropriate. Not to mention that Kyril's the one who got lost and Asuka is the one who lost him.

A lot of it is tone. Robo-Kyril has been described in a way that makes him seem much more calculating rather than feeling, likely due to the influence of VERDICT.

In other words the "gaps" have been filled with robot, and it shows.
>>
>>37421821
Kyril no longer gives a shit about killing people and is all-around both more composed and less emotional, from what I can tell.

>>
>>37421891
That's not a bad way to put it: the parts that are still Kyril are strung together with robotics to make a functional person. The only question is how much of that will change as his own mind recovers.
>>
“I’m damaged.”

You didn’t know if that was admittance, agreement or something else entirely.

“Not to the extent I can’t feel but,” you trailed off.

She was right though, you were different. You weren’t emotionless, but you were also not the same. You would never be the same. Maybe that was what she wanted you to admit, to finally come to terms with.

“You’re right,” you restarted, “I’m not the same as the old Kyril. Maybe with time I’ll become with someone who can stand where he once did.”

It wasn’t obvious, but given Asuka, she’d pick up on it. You wanted, no, you needed help, her help. You wanted to go back to way things were. It was scary when you thought about your situation. Your new situation where you were leashed, shackled, nothing more but an attack dog meant to go after whoever your masters deemed a threat. Yes, you had good reason to be scared.

“You are trembling,” Asuka had embraced you.

You didn’t even notice.

“That fear, that thought that scared you. That is similar to what I felt. I wanted you to understand me but I may have succeeded beyond all expectation,” she continued, “I suppose we are birds of a feather after all. After all that you have gone through you are still fixated on me, are you not?”

You were. Then you remembered something.

“I had a dream about you,” you admitted.

“I am certain we can make that dream a reality,” she concluded.

It was a cue you think. Leaning in, you jumped a little as the door slammed open.

Standing in the doorway was a familiar red aura.

“Oh, um,” your mother’s voice, “Excuse me.”

She turned about face and slammed the door. From behind it you could hear her voice,

“Mishka what have I told you about grandchildren?”

“That you will live long enough to see them born says Misaka says Misaka as Misaka recalls from memory.”

“No, no, the other one.”

“Ah, Misaka is sabotaging Mama Torikov’s chances says Misaka says Misaka as Misaka realises her error.”

You were amused, smiling at their words. So was Asuka. When the both of your grins met, you kissed her.

“Oh you brute,” she complained in good humour.

“Did you think it worked says Misaka says Misaka as she asks Mama Torikov for confirmation about her usage of subliminal message?”

“No, I don’t think so,” your mother sighed, “Trust me, we’d know.”

“Know what?” you asked as you stepped out.

Your mother had the decency to hide her smirk while pretending to blush. Question marks adorned Last Order as she tilted her head in confusion.

The time is late morning, the weather is woozy, and the date is now December 29.

Last Order had delivered. It hadn’t even been twenty four hours and already Third Echelon had found what you had been looking for. They had also found the culprits. Currently they were engaged in a running gun battle while managing to keep Anti-Skill out of the loop. You think it was more than just them but that wasn’t really your problem. No, your problem was how they already had a second force that was stationed around the ambush point. A counter-ambush then, you had summarised.

Ben-jii was doing his “Driver thing” as Last Order put it, ferrying Sisters to and from the sporadic exchanges of fire. They were in pursuit of a trio of Code M, manipulators of wind, water, and earth. Kaoru was also with him so they were effectively occupied. Back at command were you, Asuka, and Sparky. There was one Code M at the ambush point. Its partner was a completely normal person, at least according to the scopes. The question was what to do.

You had a plan. Not only would it counter their counter-ambush but you’d also have the advantage. When their agents were caught in your trap, they were going to be bailed out of it by their reinforcements. That’s what they expected to happen. Instead you were going to intercept their reinforcements. Due to the nature of the trap, Ben-jii and Kaoru should have no problem wrapping up. You on the other hand would enter a battle with numerical superiority, and there was only one Code M.

The only hint that everything went wrong was companion to the blonde-haired Code M that greeted you. You’ve never met him before but you had met his companion before. So had Sparky.

“Yo,” the Code M spoke, “I hope you don’t mind but we’re in a bit of a hurry.”

Kamijou Touma froze at the forces arrayed against him.

“You are under arrest,” you simply intoned mechanically.

“I’d like to introduce myself but I don’t think I should hold myself back against VERDICT,” he continued, “Not even I will underestimate a student of Teacher.”

Lightning arced from his fingers like an overdone sci-fi villain. It may have looked impressive outside the City of science but you had the best electromaster in the City with you. He must have linked himself to a myth or deity related to lightning. It wasn’t enough to narrow down just yet but it should be enough for now. CADRE ha estimated him as a competent melee combatant, and you had a full mag in your assault rifle. It was safer to test him out at range, but it didn’t look like he was going to give you that chance. Charging forward as the others stood dumbstruck, you were tempted to get inside his range. You would have to get real close to even stand a chance.

You shot backwards. The Code M made a small effort to dodge. It meant either bullets were effective, or he just wanted to make you think they were. Either way, you backed off, another burst halting the Code M before the lighting even came close. It was an untenable situation for you as he kept coming and you would run out of ammo eventually. So far, still no sign of a shift in strategy.

Behind you, Asuka leapt sword first at Touma. She probably wouldn’t kill him. She didn’t kill you so you thought he had a good chance. It was Sparky who hesitated and continued to gawk.

The lance of electricity cut up solid pavement and whatever cover you managed to find. Another burst kept him honest.

“My enemy is certainly pathetic,” he remarked.

You didn’t rise to the bait and stuck to your plan. Stay out of range and keep firing on the target. You were glad you did. The Code M’s patience had run out faster than your ammo, even if you were down to a pittance of ammo now. With but a word the arcs’ range expanded. It was almost as fast as a bullet. There was enough time for you to duck and dodge out of the way. Embedding itself in a building on the far side of the street, the blade continued to cut farther out behind it. From that you learned two things. One, you were grateful that you had the sense to bait out a surprise like that. Second, you learned who your enemy was basing his Code M on. He had whispered it but CADRE had caught it. Mjölnir, the hammer of the lightning god Thor, was a dead giveaway. You had eight shots, one long burst, left. Almost a full mag just to get to know more about your enemy was a fair trade in your opinion.

You tagged the enemy with a new designation, Thor. While it was nice that you had a broad idea of his capabilities, it was still only knowledge. You couldn’t turn it into a weapon just yet. No, you needed someone else, someone like Sparky. It took a shout but it was enough to snap her out of her stupor. You weren’t sure how her electromaster powers would interact with Code M phenomena but it was worth a shot. With one last burst, you dashed straight in. CADRE had already started preloading the optimal applications of butt-stock to human cranium. You half expected the twisting whips of lightning to cut through your now empty gun but it was Sparky’s intervention that left it with only cosmetic damage. That allowed you to smack Thor upside the head. Only it was the rifle that cracked first and broke apart.

The blonde, blue-eyed Code M only smiled drawing his fist back and let fly. He had you at the range he wanted. Thor was a physical god too, you realised belatedly. The ensuing parry bent your right arm in ways it shouldn’t have. Thankfully it was synthetic and snapped back in to place as your whip burst forward. It was a flexible weapon that couldn’t simply be blocked. He tried, moving his arm to intercept as his other was held in place by Sparky’s override of his lightning fingers. It was only a mild shock. Not enough to even cause damage. No, it was the following left straight that sent in through a building or two.

CADRE still registered him as alive and as you moved to finish him he fished out a piece of silver. He wasn’t smiling.

“Do you know what the most powerful effective technique in the world is?” he asked.

You felt it in your gut. He was up to something. This wasn’t something CADRE could reasonably predict. All it could say was that he was probably buying time, but beyond that you didn’t know. You had to,

It was the details you realised. Small details that got your attention, and now that you had near encyclopaedic knowledge of religion and mythology, it all came together. The man who betrayed Christ, Judas Iscariot, was paid a sum of thirty silver pieces. It was a subtle sign. You recalled how a few days ago Ben-jii had given such a thing to Ilija. With the way he answered your questions about her being frightfully vague, you were afraid that he was a plant from the start.

“It is called betrayal,” Thor flipped his silver piece in to the air.

For a moment, Sparky and you simply watched as the coin bounced along the pavement before disappearing in to a crack in the ground. She was ready to blast him for trying to do something so stupid but you already could see the signs. You had to get her clear. Not enough time, CADRE calculated. Then you’d have to take it head on, you thought. Your perception of the following events slowed. A small hump appeared on the tarmac but it grew, slowly at first. By the time Sparky had noticed you were already in front of it.

Roughly 1.7 tonnes of Detroit automotive engineering hurtled in to your braced arms, stalling the vehicle enough for Sparky to get out of the way before you were flung back and under. The car’s weight was pressing down on you slightly but it wasn’t too much. You thought Ben-jii may have raised the ride height slightly. It was that or your arms were straining to keep the car from crushing your very fleshy bits.

“A shame but it looks like we got what we came for,” Thor voice carried.

“Well you can tell Teacher that Captain America’s been compromised,” Ben-jii’s treacherous voice returned.

The car’s weight pressed down on you a little bit more.

“Don’t forget to strap yourself in alright?” Ben-jii joked.

There was a snort before the car drove off, leaving little but smoke and burnt rubber.

“Tell me you got the plates of the car that just hit me.”

“Sorry nii-chan, looks like Ben-jii’s doing his whole submarine thing again,” Nayuta replied back.

“Sit rep.”

“Well it looks like Kaoru-chan’s still alive,” Nayuta answered, “Frozen in an embarrassing position, but alive.”

“I’m alright, thanks VERDICT,” you could hear Sparky getting up behind you.

“I have secured a suspect,” Asuka’s voice came on, “Oh wait.”

There was a screech in the background and a brief shout of “Fukou da,” before Asuka came back on again.

“Correction, I have lost the suspect, in exchange I have a car roof,” she sounded amused, “I do hope that is enough for now.”

“Instructions?”

“Pursuit isn’t a priority,” Nayuta voice was down, “We’d love to have a bargaining chip against the English but apparently it’s not worth tearing the city up over.”

“We don’t have to,” Asuka interrupted, “It is not the first time we tangled with Benjamin. I am sure Sagara would have the specifics.”

You recalled that Ben-jii couldn’t work his magic with a damaged car. How true that was you didn’t know but it was something you try. You also recalled the supposed time-traveller that knew him, and yourself. She was also a source of information. If you were going to pursue then you’d have to leave right now.

“What the hell is going on?” Sparky was confused and angered.

Understandable, you got hit by a car for her. She just fought a near equivalent electromaster that seemed to be as physically powerful as you were.

“Well most of it is classified stuff Level 5 nee-chan, but I could go over the important bits if you want.”

You tuned the two of them out. You were going to,

“Asuka, call in the favour, Nayuta, I’ll need a car, a really fast car,” you ordered.

“Of course.” “Hai hai nii-chan.”

Sparky was still sitting confused as you led her towards Kaoru so that the two of you could deal with her. It turned out she was bound by rather ordinary rope. CADRE recognised it as the work of a Hojoujutsu master. Further research in to that topic was interesting but not quite relevant at the moment. You left Sparky to deal with Kaoru’s predicament while you averted your eyes. Sagara also called,

“VERDICT, I heard you wanted some help?”

“Name your price.”

“Free, and not just because we’re friends” Sagara answered, “Ben-jii just wouldn’t let the fact that I shot up his car and stole his gun go so he spent all his time in Academy City making life hard for me.”

That was good enough for you.

“I already have a lock on him but he’s heading out west, real fast.”

A car rolled up to you. Asuka was in the passenger seat.

“Don’t worry I got that covered,” you replied with a smile.

>WELCOME BACK MR. TORIKOV

It seemed even cars remembered who you were. Apparently someone had punched in your credentials and there were no more traffic violation messages. Even traffic parted like the Red Sea as you sped in pursuit of Ben-jii’s red Camaro. It was hard to miss, since it didn’t have a roof, like an improvised convertible.

“Be a dear,” Asuka spoke, “drive me closer, I wish to hit it with my sword.”

Normal protocol dictated a PITT manoeuvre was recommended and CADRE agreed predicting seventy percent chance of success. You also had your side arm, and it wasn’t like you needed two hands to drive. It was hard to hit though, the opposite of the PITT.

the Dean putting 'em the school of hard knocks

You could have tried for a PITT. It was safe, it was sensible but it was also not quite what you had in mind for a little payback. You were going have Asuka take a stab at them, quite literally. A light touch to the pedal and already you were picking up speed. Drawing up alongside Asuka simply stuck The Dean out the window, trusting the difference in speed was enough to shear through metal and plastic alike. If Ben-jii had any magical defences you didn’t see it working. A wicked gash was torn in the side of the red car once Asuka was done. Smoke spewed from under the Camaro’s hood. Black from incomplete combustion you noted, not the usual white smoke.

For your troubles, Ben-jii managed to move fast enough to hit you in the rear quarter panel. It spun you out, both of you. You were in a heavier car and Ben-jii seemingly lost control. A brief glimpse saw Thor carrying Touma in a princess carry, along with three others, soaring out of their seats. You also heard Touma screaming but surely he couldn’t be responsible for such a shrill shriek.

By the time you had come safely to a rest, the thieves had gotten away. Well, not all of them. There was Ben-jii. He was face first against the steering wheel. In his lap was one of his arms, the other was vainly trying to contain his innards. The Dean had drawn blood with that cut, not that you had noticed.

“Heh,” Ben-jii wheezed, “You got me.”

Episode End. Time for interludes, quickly.

The day had been pretty quest so you went out to drink with Ben-jii. Right about now your Overall Combat Efficiency had peaked at about 108% and then started to wobble all over the screen. Ben-jii was looking mostly drunk himself. Somehow, the topic turned to freelancing. You knew he was one of the best, top five and all, but you really wanted to know more about the others.

“So you know the best of best,” Ben-jii slurred, “Fujimoto Shiro, or Shamu as his sister calls him. I just think she’s mispronouncing Siam terribly. A bit boring though, married to the job, unlike his sister who’s a real riot. Don’t know how the Lord London managed to impress him.”

“Me neither,” you answered, “Dated his niece. He took my eyebrows.”

“That’s so like him,” Ben-jii laughed, “Second best is one of my professors at Miskatonic. Professor Yasaka Mahiro. Strange how the Japanese top the group huh? He’s got a fixation with forks as weaponry. The King in Yellow, among others, has a fixation on him. If Siam needed to get laid, then the Professor absolutely must never get laid. The world is not ready for half-human, half-abomination-from-beyond-mortal-ken just yet.”

“And the third?”

“I’m actually tied third with this other guy called Harry. English, I think, tendency to get the strangest cases, like a vampire with a flamethrower. Good sense of humour, and modern feminists hate him. Doesn’t help that he loves pranking people he doesn’t like so you know, there’s that,” he paused, “Finally, there’s the last one. She goes by many names. Queen of Escalation, Anub’seran, the Behemoth, to name a few. Doesn’t help that she crashed Iceland’s economy through collateral damage. Locals thought it was another volcanic eruption.”

“What do you call her?”

“Tailor.”

“Why?”

“Because she made your suit.”

He was angry. You had a good idea why. It wasn’t like you had pushed his inadequacies and weakness right in to his face. Where was his bravado now? You had faced some of his greatest attempts at harming with nary a scratch. Where was his biting sarcasm? That cocksure attitude of a hostage taker was also gone. He couldn’t touch you nor could he hit you where it hurt. It was infuriating. You’d know, having once felt the same. Looking down, you could almost savour how close the second ranked Level 5 had come to licking your shoes. There was no need to force him to. Just knowing that you had him beat in every way that mattered was enough. The shit eating grin also added to the effect.

“I’ll fucking kill you.”

It was all Kakine Teitoku could manage at the moment.

“Haaah?” you feigned hard of hearing, “What’s that? Did you say something?”

“Stop rubbing it in his face already,” Toshino spoke.

You recalled how the three of you got here.

“He’s just a sore loser,” you replied.

“I’ll fucking kill you,” Kakine was obviously not finished.

“SCHOOL’s out kid,” Toshino spat back, “C’mon Accel, let’s ditch this scrub lord, didn’t we have that thing to do?”

How did shopping for a birthday present end up with a shadow war being fought in the various back alleys of Academy City again? Oh right, you remembered, it was Kakine’s fault. You looked back down at Number 2. He was still repeatedly muttering under his breath about killing you. Leaving him alive was not acceptable. Well you suppose you could disappear him like you did with that bastard Amata. Reaching down, you were surprised to note that he fought, even as you rendered him down to his base elements. It only delayed the inevitable.

“I’ll fucking kill you.”

You looked at him and smiled.

“Get on my level.”

You like to think Chibi was well meaning. She had offered food and board, pretty much for free. You were all but assured by Kyril that she wasn’t some kind of sexual predator or something. Chibi’s literature did nothing to assuage you however. The freakiest shit lined her bookshelves. She was a teenager, about your age, if not a little younger. A little ero-manga was nothing to be afraid of. It was the strange ritualistic shit that was freaky. Like, normal humans didn’t freak that way. You had to admit that the gay porn that was modelled on Kyril was hilarious though, not that you had a use for it other than a laugh.

The point was Chibi was a bookworm. It meant that she often had it in her head for you to re-enact the silliest shit. Often, it was for the amusement of her friends. Well you put up with them too. They were good kids, even for Judgement. That did not explain why you were on ‘patrol’ with Chibi and her partner Twitchy. You were also dressed in loud yellow cargo pants and a black tank top. The three of you were taking a trip through School District 10 so you really didn’t expect trouble. Even if it was lawless and hostile to Judgement, no one attacked the Slumlord with impunity.

“This is a waste of time,” Twitchy ground out for the fifteenth time.

“I’m worried about the neighbourhood Toshino-san lives in,” Chibi said.

Touching.

“I can take care of myself,” you argued.

“I’m sure,” Twitchy was doubtful.

“Then she’ll just have to prove it right?” Chibi asked.

As if right on cue a bunch of thugs came up to you. Well it was a great way to relieve stress you guess. Just as you were going to deal with them, Chibi grabbed you.

“No, no, no,” she then whispered in you ear.

Sighing, you raised both arms over head and formed a cross.

“ZA,” you spread them out, level and away from your chest, “WARUDO.”
