Welcome to Academy City. The time is afternoon, the weather is cloudy, and the date is January 2.

You are Kyril Torikov and you were in a wheelchair again. It would have felt familiar if you weren’t paralysed from the neck down. Admittedly you were also wearing a white wrestling mask but that paled in comparison to what you were feeling. The feeling was uncomfortable. You felt like fidgeting except you were unable to. You itched but were unable to scratch it, literally. The silver lining was that you were finally in control of your Ability. It wasn’t complete control yet but you were planning on working on it. If you couldn’t bring it under control you were going to require a limiter just to be able to move around again. You didn’t know which was worse, an incontinence or being shackled forever. Speaking of shackles, Nayuta was calling you, no doubt with more work. At least you were free this afternoon even if you’d rather spend it with Asuka.

The phone was a solid brick, you thought, otherwise you would have accidently crushed it trying to answer the damn thing.

“I thought I was on vacation,” you grumbled a bit.

“You still are nii-chan,” Nayuta replied evenly, “I was just working on your helmet.”

That sounded promising.

“That is if you still want to wear one,” she continued, “After all, it still does weird things to your brain and I’m putting it nicely.”

“You have a solution,” you stated.

“Just another option, it’s not perfect but then what is? Anyway nii-chan I was fixing your helmet just in case.”

The ‘if you want to change your mind,’ was left unsaid.

“I was wondering if you still wanted me to reinstall CADRE or load up some new software.”

You discussed your three options with Nayuta over the phone. While CADRE had been helpful, that was when your powers had been sealed. If you were even going to back under a limiter you would prefer something that allowed you access to your Ability. It would be temporary and wouldn’t work as it normally did but at least it could still be used. That was why you picked the Dark May Emulator. Though you weren’t sure if that was going to cramp Accelerator’s style or not.

“Imitation is the greatest form of flattery nii-chan,” Nayuta assured, “That’s all I have to say I think. Oh wait, I almost forgot. The City has found a temp replacement for you. I’ve no idea how it’ll do, so watch out alright?”

“Don’t I always?” you asked.

“I liked your cool and silent act better,” she joked, “Bye-bye nii-chan.”

Then she hung up.

“I suppose our afternoon is still sufficiently free,” Asuka spoke, “Is there anything in particular you had in mind, or shall I make some suggestions?”

Well there was one thing that stood out. You wanted to regain control of your powers, and failing that, you wanted to test out the limits of your power. Asuka continued through your silent contemplation,

“There is of course the matter of our disguise if we are to infiltrate the concert. We would have to acquire tickets somehow. If that is not on the cards then I suppose we could go accost some unfortunate hoodlums or some such. I am sure that Kyouko would have some fun for us. If not then we could at least wish her a happy New Year.”

I'm curious about what the hell it actually does. It might be the auto defense like what Saiai has or it might be the ridiculous offensive boost like what Umidori has.

Or I guess it could even be a third thing. Accel can use his ability to move around like crazy and I don't think movement was a main part of either of Saiai/Umidori's things.

“I was thinking of stretching my legs a bit.”

Asuka looked at your legs.

“And as much as enjoy being pushed around,” she looked at you, “I would like to regain fine control so I don’t accidentally crush everything I try to manipulate.”

“That seems fair,” she finally said, “Though I am curious how much unfettered power you possess right now.”

“There’s an easy way to test that,” you tilted your head, “Hop on.”

“What? In your lap?”

“If that’s what you want.”

You were pretty sure she could just hang from the handlebars of your wheelchair but she didn’t need to know that. Asuka settled in shortly. She wasn’t heavy and if she was you weren’t saying anything about it. It was nice to know that despite the paralysis you could still feel the warmth of her body. The small itches and annoyances were insignificant and you would savour it more if you didn’t have other places to be. Concentrating slightly, the wheelchair’s wheels creaked as you manoeuvred it out of the coffee shop.

“Is it supposed to do that?” she asked.

“Hold on tight,” you deflected.

The streets were clear. There were people on the sidewalk but with the state of City, it was mostly older children and adults fetching necessary supplies. It was rather strange then that the coffee shop that you had found was open at all. The road was mostly devoid of cars. Most of them were some kind of delivery van or truck. Your wheelchair fell off the curb with a clatter.

“What are you doing?” Asuka again asked.

You didn’t answer. Instead, you focused on the small back of the wheelchair and pushed. You almost went spinning back over the sidewalk but with another creak the left wheel locked itself up temporarily, righting you as you continued down the road. Asuka’s question was answered. The wheelchair picked up speed, decidedly becoming unsafe as you tried to keep it steady despite its cambered wheels.

There were two things to test and each required a different area of the City. One, you wanted to try and control your Ability better. Delicate precision work coupled with some multitasking would probably be a good idea. The other was to just let loose and that required something that no one would miss. You had some ideas of where to go, the rail yards for the former, the Strange for the latter.

“I suppose you do make something of an ignoble steed,” she remarked.

Asuka was probably still coming to grips with the speeds you had reached. It was faster than most cars and definitely above the speed limit. She was clearheaded enough to ask questions though.

“Where are we headed?”

“The Strange.”

She angled her head backwards.

“You said it wasn’t a date without property damage,” you replied.

“Then you do know that we need to make a right turn up ahead. You are slowing down to take it yes?”

“I’m working on it.”

What you really meant was that the calculations you made were telling you the forces involved would probably tear the wheelchair apart. Asuka seemed to take your silence as a negative,

“Here, let me help.”

She drew The Dean. A clear metallic ring rang out as the blade came free. Then she stabbed it over the right side. It dug in to pavement. The sound of horrific scraping and crumbling emerged as your path of travel was violently redirected. You literally flew around the corner, both wheels ceasing contact with the ground for but a brief moment.

“Oof,” you sharply exhaled.

The landing had been rough, especially when you had a lady in your lap.

“I thought that only worked in fiction but I suppose there is no denying Newton his due,” she said still nonplussed, “We will have to work on the landing though. It was unnecessarily rough.”

In the interest of not being jolted you slowed down the pace slightly. Asuka kept filling the silence,

“What are you looking for in particular?”

“A condemned building or something no one will miss.”

When you arrived she had redirected you towards one. Your test was mostly about scaling your Ability and its power. If you knew the upper limit you could use that as point of reference for control, provided you had an upper limit of course.

Once you got actually tried using your power, it was to your dismay that it didn’t do much against a building of solid concrete. Perhaps there was a limit to the force you could exert. That could be a good thing. Or perhaps you just had been approaching the problem in the wrong direction. The mechanics of your power had been explained as a field of force that affected other objects. No matter, you were going to try again and this time you were,

You had always thought of your Ability as an extra hand. It was easy and it was intuitive. It wasn’t working now though. You had to think and clearly define limits. You started with basic geometric shapes since their calculations were the easiest, especially squares and cubes. Circles and spheres were harder but you supposed that was because you could only approximate pi. It was good enough.

“What exactly are you trying to achieve?” Asuka asked.

She didn’t seem bored but she probably was. It was probably because you had been staring at the building for some time now.

“I thought I had gotten stronger but I guess not,” you tried to shrug, “The building is still standing.”

“Controlled demolition is an art form,” she replied, “It involves weakening several key structures so that gravity can do the rest. Academy City’s have always been built to withstand earthquakes given the location so the brute force approach rarely works here. It requires finesse, and proper application of force. Have you ever thought about why a sword’s blade or a spear’s point is so harmful? Honestly, I am not sure why you have not tried that first.”

That was a pretty big hint. If a huge field that affected the whole building didn’t work then you were going to go smaller. You tried defining a circle as big as a wheel then sent it straight at the wall. It made a two centimetre depression that reflected the size of the field you had formed. You tried making it smaller, changing its shape, and each time you were pouring in as much force as you could muster. The smaller you made it, the deeper you dug in to the concrete. Your understanding of physics was still a bit vague but you supposed that it had something to do with Pascal.

“I suppose you are making progress,” Asuka chimed in, “But are you not going to do something about your condition.”

That kind of was the point of the exercise. It was supposed to solve your current immobility. With your current knowledge, you could probably just levitate yourself everywhere. Walking was for plebeians who couldn’t fly everywhere. It was also probably safer given the area and volume you had to work with. Plus it would solve your general mobility problem for now. On the other hand, your limbs were still immobile and useless. Though trying to move them now would require a smaller area and volume. If you screwed up then you could really end up with no limbs.

It wasn’t hard in hard decision in retrospect. You wanted to be able to move first before you went flying. Thus you focused on your limbs. You calculated a crude cylinder and then set the force to affect it. It almost nearly tore your arm off but it definitely got it moving.

“Progress,” you exclaimed to hide the pain.

“I suppose it is. How about I give you a hand?”

“I got this.”

The arm was jointed so you didn’t need to actually worry about articulation. Then your arm bent in a way no normal human arm did. Asuka raised her eyebrows questioningly. You twisted the limb back to normal. Then you waved at her, or tried to. Your arm was still moving too quickly.

“Like I said, progress,” you added quickly, “Let’s try my leg next.”

You decided to focus on your prosthetic lower right leg. You at least tried to move it so you could stand up. Instead, it sent you flying out the chair. You collapsed in an awkward tangle of limbs. It hurt your pride more than anything else. Asuka walked up slowly with a smile on her face. Flicking her hair back she asked,

“Would you like a hand now?”

“Please.”

A little manhandling later and you were back in your chair. It helped that you could actually sort of move your arms now. If you could call posing it like a ragdoll in a video game movement, since your upper body moved in relation to your arms. Your shoulders ached.

“You must be the only person who could draw and quarter themselves with no help,” Asuka mused, “I think you should quit while you are ahead.”

“Well I was thinking about levitation, maybe push how hard I can really go, and because I like walking I was going to try that again too.”

“I will not attempt to catch you should you fall,” Asuka declared.

“Alright I guess I’ll call it a day,” you were slightly annoyed.

To be fair, you still had the rest of the week and you had made some progress here. You think Asuka was just trying to look out for you in her own way. Her next statement had you doubting that hypothesis however.

“I did not say I was not stopping you. I enjoyed watching you crawl.”

“Are you an S?” you bluntly asked.

She hopped in to your lap with no small amount of indifference to your reaction. Her index alighted on your lips.

“Would you like to find out, dear?”

“Maybe later,” you muttered.

With that you off again, this time headed for home. The wheelchair creaked less as you tried to lower the force applied with some success. It was still fast enough to toe the speed limit. You probably were going to get a message from Nayuta about it eventually. Your mother and Last Order greeted you when you arrived. You didn’t ask how they got in without a key and happily had dinner with them. Asuka of course had strict curfew and her mother in turn had arrived with your car to pick her up. Absolutely nothing of significance happened at all before you retired for the night.

The time is late morning, the weather is bright, and the date is now January 3.

You had woken up slowly. The uncomfortable feeling of being unable to move much was still there. You would have pushed yourself upright if not for Last Order so you just lay in bed for a moment. Then you noticed your phone was vibrating. Slowly you brought it up for some reading. The message was from

The message read,

“Nii-chan, I finished fixing your helmet if you want to come pick it up. Of course we’ll have to talk about some boring stuff too but I don’t want to ruin your date so it’ll be quick.”

The concert was in the afternoon. You were pretty sure you could afford the time to drop by. Most of the time you were going to waste was simply getting ready for the day. At least you could move your arms better now. Each movement was a new iteration of the calculations you ran, simplifying and streamlining them. You suppose with a bit more practice and control you could try to walking again. As it was, it was a miracle you could go to the bathroom and put on pants without asking for help.

You found Nayuta in another office building, still at her battlestation and a plate of English breakfast breads next to her. There was some jam as well.

“Nii-chan,” she turned around, “Breakfast?”

“Why not?”

You grabbed a muffin, accidentally flattening it in your hand’s iron grip, and dipped it in some jam.

“It looks like you have some control back,” she remarked before producing your helmet, “Ta-dah! The new VERDICT OS Computer Assistance Auxiliary Helmet.”

It looked exactly the same as the one you had been issued.

“New impact layers, adaptive display that will work around physical damage to the helmet and best of all, I have the CADME installed like you asked.”

You held out your other hand and she placed the helmet in it.

“Before you put it on, I have to say that I’ve pre-loaded it to reboot the VERDICT OS and yes, that means the limiter too. CADME doesn’t work without it.”

“I thought you mentioned something about another option over the phone yesterday?”

“Ah, that,” she paused, “Well nii-chan, would you like to be a superhero?”

“I’m not becoming Super Loli Man,” you stated.

Nayuta giggled.

“That’s not what the internet is saying.”

Your mind boggled.

“Not after you jumped out of the window with me back at Ilija-chan’s place,” she elaborated, “I didn’t think our shooter would take photos and post it online.”

“Does that mean you’re my sidekick now?”

“You’ve got it backwards nii-chan, you’re my sidekick. After all I am a child-genius. They think VERDICT is just my bodyguard.”

She turned away to type something on her keyboard. The displays started showing images, both photo and drawn, of you and Nayuta. Most of it suggested Nayuta as the active protagonist.

“I’d ask for royalties but the City says most of what we do is classified so I just have to let them,” Nayuta complained, “Anyway, back to my question.”

“You’re going to have to explain the plan a bit better,” you interrupted, “Because I’m no hero.”

“You don’t have to be, it’s all about the image,” she corrected, “Have you heard of the term Kayfabe?”

You didn’t.

“It’s a wrestling term, thought you’d know it,” she gestured to your mask, “and it’s not just playing a role. You must become the role.”

“Living an actual lie then,” you concluded, “and with a secret identity, or two, to boot. That’s why you asked if I wanted to be a superhero.”

“It’s all a matter of perception, and the fuddy-duddies upstairs would probably jump on the bandwagon,” she continued, “Like, who said it has to be VERDICT? Look at yourself nii-chan. You’re already wearing a mask. That’s just begging for us to cook up a story. Make a few public statements and we’re set.”

“There’s got to be a downside to this.”

“Sign me up.”

While you weren’t sure whether it was a good idea, it appealed to you.

“You’re still on vacation nii-chan,” Nayuta smiled, “Take the time to think about it, maybe come up with some ideas. We can discuss the fine details afterwards.”

“What about you?”

“Maybe, but that depends on what you do nii-chan,” she elaborated, “If you want to become VERDICT or not. There’s a whole website dedicated to cataloguing legends and speculation about VERDICT. Some of them are pretty scary.”

“In their accuracy?”

“About half of them,” she answered, “But like I said, figure out a story first, then we can sell it. Do you want to be VERDICT? Do you want to be someone else? What is your goal and how far are you willing to go to do it?”

“I was thinking world peace,” you joked.

Nayuta shrugged and reached for a muffin. The ideas were forming in your head but Nauyta was right. You still were on vacation. Besides, the recovery of your Ability had to be considered. The helmet reflected your white mask back at you. Then your phone rang. Asuka had wished for your presence during lunch. Apparently the two of you were going to have to acquire high-powered spotting scopes since she couldn’t get more tickets for the concert with such short notice.

“If you want I can help get you in,” Nayuta offered.

“What’s it going to cost me?”

“It’ll be actual work, when you should still be on vacation. But you’ll even have backstage passes!”

On one hand, Asuka would probably jump at the opportunity to see the Railgun’s face from such a location. On the other, there was less chance of blunt force and electrical burn trauma if you just went with the spy scopes.

As for our superhero goal, I was thinking something something protect the chilluns something something child errors. Nayuta'd probably be down with that too.

And may as well stay as VERDICT for our identity. It's grown on me.

I think we should angle towards protecting the whole city. We'll be a beacon of hope for the kids, I bet everybody is still scared from the massive attack that we were helpless against. It's kind of a depressing time to live in academy city

“I think she’ll like that, so what am I really in for?” you replied.

“Well technically speaking, you aren’t getting tickets, but you will be getting backstage passes.”

It dawned on you then. You two were going to be playing security. It wasn’t all that bad, probably. Asuka might get a front row seat to Sparky’s and Touma’s reaction. You were content to simply hang out backstage. Though that did beg the question of where or how she could have had that arranged.

“There’s a few problems though. You’ll have to go as VERDICT and that means putting on the helmet.”

Which meant enabling your limiter.

“I guess I could disable it for now if you want but you’ll still be stuck in a wheelchair.”

“Don’t worry I don’t have to get out of the chair to do my job.”

Your reply reminded you of an older job you did. You smiled at the memory. Yeah, it wasn’t a problem at all.

“Alright then, I’ll book it, meet the contact with your girlfriend for lunch and drop my name. That should be enough.”

“What’s your contact’s name?”

“She used to run a PMC but now she’s the exclusive head of the Meigo Arisa’s security detail. You’ve probably never heard of her but her name is Shutaura Sequenzia.”

They marched in like they owned the place. It was a column of Crusaders. You could tell with all the crosses stitched in to their red robes. They were also in armour. It was honest to God steel plate. You had a problem with them because they were on your turf. That and they had started shit with the City that you lived in. They were going to take this City. You were the Slumlord of the Strange and you weren’t going to sit back and let them take it away from you. Not if you could help it. Powerful as you were, you wouldn’t be able to take all of them at once. In a one to one fight, your people couldn’t take them either. You had to herd them all together. Make them stick in large groups so you could handle them all together.

There were a lot more thugs that lived in the District than you remembered. They weren’t all armed but they were united. A common foe was right in front of them. They weren’t Anti-Skill but they were just as unwelcome. All who lived here were under the protection of the Slumlord, and whether they may have crossed her or not, they owed her something. For some it was loyalty, others were more pragmatic. Not everyone was mean, tough, or even brave beyond compare but that was fine. You only needed them to hold the line. Given they knew what you could do, it was probably better to stay on your side. Now, as for these so called ‘Crusaders’, it was time to introduce yourself with,

They drew swords. The ring of steel was an intimidation tactic. Against the improvised weapons of chain and pipe, these tin cans made it clear. They weren’t here to fuck around. But they did anyway as they raised their swords. You half expected it glow or something but nothing like that happened. Instead it was a single sentence. It was uttered in condemnation.

“Burn the Witch.”

Now nothing annoyed me more when people got my classification wrong. You see, they think I’m a witch, some freaky Code M user that went around ripping off dead gods. They also thought that holy fire would do me in. They were wrong. Not only was I not a witch, my body, as I was told, wasn’t that important seeing as I could replace it whenever I wanted. Accel-kun had called me Number 2. He had at least explained who the previous Number 2 was. He created something out of nothing. That was his Ability. I was like him in that respect, except I didn’t just create something. I created a whole new world. That was why Chibi made me come up with that stupid phrase. As if I needed people to know the name of my ultimate attack. She explained that attaching a name to the concept gave it form and meaning. Well that was all well and good but then she had you posing like in her manga.

For them though, they were going to die before they knew what was going to hit them. So you uttered the two words that would draw them in, trap them in the one place where you were God. Instead, there was only one person standing in your world now, a blondie with green eyes. It was a trap, you realised too late. Code M were tricky like that but you dealt with worse. Still, nothing a spear in the heart couldn’t solve, though before you could even do that he raised his hands. It was the universal sign of surrender.

>No quarter
>Accept it
>>
>>38365474
>No quarter

just stroll up in here locked and loaded and then puss out?

nah son, when the Slumlord pulls out the spear, she damn sure gonna use it

No quarter asked, no quarter given. It was that simple. You did not simply stroll in to the Strange looking like you owned the place then pussy out. Your weapon was a broad headed spear that simply appeared in your hands. Chibi kept saying that it was like a representation of your soul or something fancy like that. You didn’t really pay attention since the most important thing was that it killed people. Sadly Code M were goddamned cheaty-faces.

He smiled. It was a slimy smile. He was definitely up to something you knew but it was too late to change things now. Even with a spear stuck in his heart, in the world where you were the law, he smiled. You knew he had a game breaker too. No it wasn’t why he was smiling. It was because he knew you knew that he had a plan, a back up. He was messing with your mind in any case. That, you weren’t going to ignore.

“My turn.”

That was all he said. In his hand was a golden spear. It was a lot like yours except it was like completely gold and gaudy. Hell you thought it’d break before it even broke through your skin. Then he moved to throw it despite the how silly it looked to have him try not to hit your spear in his chest. But as soon as it left his hand the world you built was twisting. The lance, the spear, it was going to hit. You knew it was going to hit because that was what it did, will do, and will have done. Past, present, and future, it was a certainty. But this was your world, a weapon that would always hit, such a thing

Rolled 1 + 1 (1d2 + 1)

Just checking something
>>
It was a paradox. You’ve heard of it before. It was like how Number 2’s powers worked. How does something come from nothing? How does something that will hit, never hit? Something had to give. It was you. Oddly you didn’t feel a thing as it slid in through your chest. It helped that you didn’t have a real heart or anything like that. Then you felt yourself tumbling.

Tumbling down, the world shattered around you, and the smug bastard was gone. Around you the night was blocked by a huge ship of some kind. Flashes of light and explosions lit it up. Your minions stood around you, half frozen, most confused as you rejoined their reality. It may just be that huge spear in your chest though. Either or, you pulled it out and looked around.

“I’ve found you.”

That bastard’s voice was carried along the wind. He was watching you from somewhere. Didn’t even give his name like the other Code M before he attacked. Talk about being rude.

“My name is Ollerus, my dear.”

Creepy fuck.

Interlude end.

The concert. There are no gods here, only idorus. How good are you at dancing? When writefag and /tg/ meet, the story begins.

Would Kyril care movie girl's J pop?
what are your thoughts on Roman Reigns?
>>
>>38366461
Would switching to cadre instead of cadme mean that we won't have need a limiter?
>>
>>38366461
>“My name is Ollerus, my dear.”
Called it.
>>
>>38366614
Cadre is even harsher limiters. It completely locks us out of using TK for anything except moving our limbs.
>>
>>38366461
>How good are you at dancing?
how Kyril dance in a wheelchair ?
>>
>>38366461
Ollerus can use Gungnir?

Eh, alright, though I thought his main gimmick was supposed to be using Odin's throne.
>>
>>38366634
So no matter what if we use the helmet we'll have a limiter?
>>
>>38366651
Yeah, but cadme at least compensates somewhat by giving us some kind of automatic power use response thing based on Accel's brainwaves.
>>
>>38366676
Thanks for responding but I'm kind of hoping bored will answer my questions
>>
>>38366582
Probably not. Not sure about your other question though.

>>38366614
The limiter works on the OS level. CADME is the only one that actually interacts with it in any capacity.

>>38366644
Someone must have given it to him.

>>38366651
If you turn on the VERDICT OS again, which the helmet is supposed to do.
>>
Reminder that Mishka managed to hack the VERDICT OS at one point.
>>
>>38366715
Would moving our limbs have gone better if we hadn't rolled for it?
>>
>>38366715
the second question is about the Samoan that will be pushed as the new face of the WWE he sucks
>>
>>38366739
Not really. The roll could have improved your recovery, ie fully working limbs. It just so happened that you rolled the exact thing I was going to write anyway.

>>38366753

Man, so i'm out of the loop by like, alot (though I haven't really followed this quest closely since the end of Season 1). So Kakine's dead? I think?

>>
>>38366820
They started releasing official translations of the index light novels in America, which is the best one in your opinion?

>>38366870
is being considered a lolicon better or worse than being considered gay in Japan?
>>
>>38366896
I dunno about actual Japan, but it seems better looked upon in animeland.
>>
>>38366870
Would Kyril still be killing mages for the city if he becomes a superhero?
>>
>>38366942
Most mages honestly deserve to die.

90% of the ones we see in the series would literally kill and eat a baby to advance their goals.
>>
>>38366853
>Kakine
>dead
He's probably just still stuck in a jar.
>>
>>38366976

>>
>>38366896
I don't live in America and last I checked my local bookstore/FLGS does not stock them. If you're talking about the individual volumes themselves then I liked the Tree Diagram Remnant one simply because of the simple premises. It may as well be renamed: Teleporter Fight the Novel with cameos by the Railgun, Imagine Breaker and Accelerator

>>38366942
All it needs is the proper 'justification' or spin I guess. Though >>38366976 has the right idea.

>>38367054
Crowley is a magician.
>>
>>38367067
I hope the city starts a massive anti-mage propaganda campaign
>>
>>38367067
I know you don't live in America, with you running off of GMT+1 it'd be weird

thanks for the rec
>>
>>38367067
At this point calling Crowley a magician may be sorta like calling God a physicist.

>Lol Archetypes

But in all seriousness, if Crowley's plan works the Raildex world would probably actually be a better place. "Everyone turns into an Esper and all the Magicians die" is a fine plan by me.

>>
>>38366896
I read some excerpts from the first Official translated one. Quality-wise it's not really any better than js06, though it's got a tendency to translate things to be better understood by Western readers so that may be your thing.

Certainly enthusiastic about reading them once they hit some volumes that are non-js06 translated though, since those are generally pretty shit.
>>
>>38367184
According to /a/ they fucked up in translating Magic God, which I find hilarious.
>>
>>38367067
Is it common knowledge that academy city is fighting a war against mages or is the existence of magic still more or less a secret?
>>
>>38367213
Who fucked up, js06 or the official one?
>>
>>38367224
No one has really raised a fuss about the Church using ESPer-like combatants. Plus it's a Crusade. That is, the Roman Catholic Church (plus allies) DOW'd Academy City.

>>38367232
Official translations of course.
>>
>>38367213
Why does the city care so much about the limiter? Does it do more to control Kyril than just limiting his TK?
>>
>>38367315
It stops you from being a walking human blender. Heaven Canceller may have "fixed" you but no one likes taking chances.
>>
>>38367315
Because he blendered a few of their scientists last time they took it off, according to the VERDICT OS info in the pasta post Bored makes every thread. They didn't really seem to care all that much about the TK limiter before that.
>>
>>38367305
Planning on catching up, but just from skimming not clear on something. Was there ever any conventional warfare or did AC just end that basically as soon as it started and everything dissolved into special ops and magicians?
>>
>>38367345
So if we can prove we have full control over our TK again they will be okay with it right?
>>
>>38367345
Can we still be a human blender when we want to be?
>>
>>38367370
I don't mention much of the war in thread because it's pretty much in the background but yeah, it's mostly spec ops and spy games between the City and the Church, outside the attack on New Years.

All the other countries are mostly fighting with conventional weapons.

>>38367430
It will give you bargaining power yes.

wait what in the fuck?
where in the everlasting fuck is othinus, she would sure as hell not stand for that mess.
>>
>>38368028
Things went completely tits-up a long time ago in regards to stuff following canon.
>>
>>38368051
yes but even still what the shit.
the only explanation for that clusterfuck is simply put othinus is dead and i highly doubt that one, theres a difference between canon going to shit and literally having the bullshit that is a full powered magic god walking around literally omnipotent especially if touma isn't going after that mess.
i'm at this point curious as to how in the shit this mess happened.
>>
>>38368028
There are multiple ways to get Gugnir and Othinusis not the only one capable of doing so. Ollerus probably got it from Brunhild Eiktobel.
>>38368093
Ollerus isn't a complete Magic God, so he doesn't have access to Gungnir's unlimited power.
>>
>>38368093
Crowley might have decided to kill her for whatever reason. Maybe WW3 going hotter than expected made him decide to destroy a potential source of conflict in advance.
>>
>>38368186
crowley is a serious dick in this quest and honestly i would be completely down if him and his indestructible building got blown the hell up.
screw archetype controller and the fuckery that brings.
