Welcome to Banished Quest!
You take the role of a young mage labeled a criminal by his people and cast out into the wider world. In the last thread you greeted the Archmagos, had a chat with an old human, and inquired after some artifacts.

It is currently the 7th of Svarthi, in the year 936 NH.

You consider your response carefully, your tone cautious when you finally speak. “I found it at the bottom of a ruin, or near the bottom at least. The person wearing it was dead, the rest of the armor ruined. Only the gauntlet survived in anything approaching good condition. What does it do, exactly?”

Hayes scowls, glaring at the gauntlet. “Well it ain't gonna do much, all by itself. I can tell ya that for sure. All this gauntlet will do is maybe let yah push and pull bits and bobs about the room, not like that'll be much use to you. Most of you magic types can already do that, no need for an artifact. Hayes reckons you could also use it ta smack someone around without gettin' yer hands dirty if ya needed to, but without the rest of the suit that's all you'd manage.”

He gently tosses the glove back to you and you pull your cloak open, allowing it to simply vanish inside as it falls. Hayes seems half lost in thought as he wanders over to the rows of display cases. “Hayes doesn't guess that you happened to find anything interesting, did you? Speaking of, which ruin did you find his corpse in?”

God damn Soma, early start huh? Good thing I refreshed /tg/ for the heck of it, might have missed the thread otherwise.

Damn it Soma, I wanted to use the info about the suit/glove as something to haggle with.

We want him to think we didn't find much. If we value the information, then he will be thinking it is valuable information.
I don't want people delving there and finding dragons.

It's not uranium, it's magic.

>>
>>39048903
Okay guys, this is a bad idea.
He will think that if he goes there, there will be a chance for him to find the body and the rest of the suit.
Which means, since we said there wasn't anything special, that he WILL try to get in there, or hire someone to do it for him, which will lead to some nasty shit if we assume dragons didn't completely abandon the place.
So let's either not tell him it was Longia, or tell him we barely got out alive, okay?
>>
>>39048932
I agree it's a stupid idea but than again I was late for the vote.
>>
>>39048993
And I would have voted to say it was deadly had I known the vote would come out as Longia.
But it seems anons either don't pay attention to the tab, or they don't agree with my expectations.
>>
All we found was the dude's hand, I think it's pretty safe to assume the place is dangerous. All ruins are dangerous.

>All we found was the dude's hand, I think it's pretty safe to assume the place is dangerous. All ruins are dangerous.
The vote is to say nothing of interest is there on top of saying it's not very dangerous. Both of which are blatant lies.
>>
>>39049016
Depends on if that someone manages to come back up.
Also Hayes may go himself.
Also they don't have to go down, they can just meet the dragons upstairs.
Also, I doubt Mik would want to put someone's life at such a huge risk.
>>
>>39048849
Well they're going to be finding dragons anyway considering they're up and flying around pretty brazenly. You're still right in not mentioning dragons though, we don't want anyone to make the connection that it's our fault these things have returned.
>>
>>39049044
I think that it's a bit of a stretch that he'd send someone off to check the ruin out, considering we already looted it.

You find yourself staring blankly at the wall as images flash through your thoughts, dredged up from whatever dark recess of your mind you'd forced them into. Images of a bruised and battered Darzi, of a mine shaft bored untold miles into the Earth, of capricious spirits and twisted constructs. You recall memories of a strange world, wholly unlike your own. Images of dragons, and of a man who refused to die no matter how much of his body you destroyed.

You're broken from your trance when Hayes snaps his fingers, the sharp sound drawing you back into the present. “Sorry, lost in thought for a moment. I found the gauntlet and its owner at the bottom of the Mines of Longia. To be honest, I didn't find anything of much interest. A few valuables, old Rhynian equipment, horrible monsters attempting to kill me at every turn. You know how it goes. Bandits as well, actually. They'd taken over the top level of the fort and turned it into a base of operations. Actually rescued one of my friend from what seemed to be some sort of dungeon.”

Hayes eyes you warily. “Well, Hayes supposes that's to be expected of Longia. Vile place. First time Hayes ever lost his arm was in the Mines of Longia. He got surprised by a critter about yay big.” He crouches down to put his hand by his knee. “Rose up right outta the ground and snapped him in the shoulder, wrenched it free. Surprisingly strong little bastard. Hayes thanks you for delivering this, he reckons it might work well with a few other artifacts he has in mind. Now, whatcha gonna buy? Circlet, pendant, or both?”

Circlet is too much of a risk to our already fragile mind for too little benefit, divination is pretty fucking useless from what we've seen so far anyway. These reasons in addition to the heavy price tag are enough to leave it alone.

You'd need to first empty your vys reserves, then draw the vys from the sword, and empty your vys reserves again into the gem. Not saying you can't do it, it would just be sort of time consuming and may or may not have unintended side effects.

>>39049480
If we had the Vys meta, could we just make the vys go from the sword to the pendant without using ourselves as a proxy?
Also, could casting Hidden+Vys around ourselves serve as an external vys reserve sort of thing? Or just using vys to keep some vys floating around ourselves?

Reminder that we still need to see what that swirling vortex effect we got while trying to learn Create does if we don't fuck it up and keep it going.

>>39049528
Who knows what you'd be capable of with the vys meta? Not I, that's for sure.
>>
>>39049480
Couldn't we just put like 40 vys into the pendant and then leech the same amount from the sword? Why would we have to empty our reserves first?

Mik likes getting money and he's kind of frugal about giving it away but he doesn't value it above the people he cares about. We had to split up the loot some time anyway, we wouldn't have survived long enough to get half of it if it wasn't for our friends. We've been getting the lions share of the magical artefacts anyway, before you start recounting how much more important to the team we are than everyone else.

This whole running kike joke thing can be funny and all but lets not forget it is a joke.

You glance at the pendant, it's three eye-shaped gems seeming to peer back at you. “How do you even know that the circlet predicts the future? What if it's just causing you to hallucinate?”

Hayes scratches his chin contemplatively. “Well, Hayes knows it's the future he sees because whatever he sees comes to pass. Now, don't get Hayes wrong. It ain't always clear what he's seein' in his dreams when he wears the thing. The visions always start out the same, with Hayes floatin' in a black void, but after that it's no holds barred. Gods above and below, one time the damn thing gave Hayes a vision of the Archmagos swallowing him whole amidst a field of red roses. Wouldn't you know it, a week later I ate lunch with the man next to a rose bush and we discussed the upkeep of the vault.”

“Another time when he was wearin' the circlet, Hayes was balancing on the tip of a sword stuck up above a sea of golden coins. Next day some mugger put a knife to his throat and asked him for his money. It just depends, you know? There's no real predicting what you'll see or how important or unimportant it will be. It don't predict outcome either, just events. Strange thing either way.”

You think on that for a moment, but ultimately decide to worry about it later. You know for a fact that you want the pendant, so you point out its case. “I'll take the pendant, but I'm not spending a hundred gold on such a little thing. I already have a sword that stores vys after all.”

“A sword with a broken gem in the hilt that seems on the cusp of turning you, me, most of this city into ash.” Hayes is quick to point out.

You wave a hand dismissively. “It's safe so long as I don't take it out of my cloak, and if I use it only as a reservoir of vys then I don't need to take it out of my cloak. Anyway, I'll give you twenty gold for it and not a silver more.”

Hayes scoffs. “That would hardly cover the cost of acquiring it, I'll have you know. I'll grant you a hundred gold is a steep mark up, but I can't offer it for less than eighty five gold.”

Eighty five gold is still a fairly big chunk of money. You're not quite willing to part with that amount of funds. “I'll give you forty. Come on, Hayes. Aren't I a loyal customer? Besides-” You channel fire magic to create an illusory representation of the skeletal figures you met in the Vault of Anthus, gold leaking from its shattered skull and desiccated body wrapped in tattered black robes. “-we both know that you didn't pay anything for that pendant. You got it from the vault.”

Hayes seems to think it over for a moment, before ultimately sighing. “Well, you've got ol' Hayes there. Problem is the Archmagos is raising funds for some grand project of his and Hayes has a goal he's gotta meet. Hayes can't give it to you for less than sixty gold, and he really means that. Elsewise he might get in trouble.”

You try to get Hayes to go lower, but that really does seem to be as low as he can offer you. In the end you agree, and money changes hands. Hayes channels vys into the display case which houses the pendant and the cover pops open, allowing him to simply reach in and grab it. He tosses it to you, and you catch it. The ruby is massive, nearly as big as your fist, a thick iron chain serving as the necklace portion of the pendant.

Spice doubles one's vys rolls, boosts one's competency, and allows you to spend as much vys as you like to improve a roll, no 25% limit.

Yeah, that's why I said that's for improving rolls with, you illiterate mongoloid cretin.

You turn the pendant over in your hands slowly, watching the light play across its faceted surface. For an instant you thought you might have seen some sort of imperfection in the ruby, but it was probably just a trick of the light. With a shrug, you drape the chain around your neck and tuck the ruby beneath your shirt and vest, letting it rest against your bare chest. Walking around with a giant ruby necklace would probably attract the wrong sort of attention.

That done, you turn your attention once more to Hayes. “I need to find Suresh, but thanks for all the help. I probably won't be setting off for Elaudia for some time yet but I do intend to seek out the recipe for Elaudian steel. I hope to return triumphant... within the next three or four months.” You're not really certain how long scouring the Pa'vala will take, but you expect it will be quite the undertaking. Then Elaudia itself will no doubt prove a daunting challenge.

Hayes nods, but he hasn't really seemed like he's all there ever since you mentioned the gauntlet. “Sure, sure. Hayes ain't in no rush. You take your time, but be careful with whatever else it is you're up to. You die before you get Hayes that recipe and Hayes might just have to drag you back to the land of the living to make sure you get it done.”

With that you depart Hayes workshop, making your way through the hallways of the Academy towards the main foyer and the Archmagos' office. You have to pass a crowd of girls chatting animatedly about the events of this afternoon. Namely, the dashing Samjan who smashed down the doors and barricaded himself in the library. Granted they don't use words like 'dashing'. Their descriptions tend more towards 'madman' and 'lunatic'. They just don't appreciate the finesse with which you smashed down the door and barricaded yourself in the library. One of them notices you and whispers something to her cohorts, the entire group crossing to the other side of the hallway as you draw near.

It doesn't take long to navigate the crowded hallways and make your way across the foyer to the front desk. The woman sitting behind the desk, a human approaching middle age if you're not mistaken, looks away from the documents splayed out in front of her only when you clear your throat. She doesn't acknowledge your existence beyond glaring at you, so you're forced to speak first. “Is Suresh in his office? I've a question for him regarding Grandmastery.”

The woman nods tersely but doesn't say anything. You take it as assent, and decide to simply climb the steps up to his office. The woman doesn't move to stop you, so presumably it's okay. Odd. You wonder who shoved a stick up her ass today?

You note with mild curiosity that the potted plants which were interspersed along the stairwell have been replaced. Where as before they had been simple ferns, the Archmagos has opted for some sort of strange flowering bush. Very small, no larger than your head; however, the flowers are huge. Each one as big as your hand, and the average bush seems to have five or six of them sprouting from its branches. The flowers come in a variety of shades, but most tend towards purple or blue. You wonder if you might take a sample back for Mortia.

The door is open when you reach the top of the stairs, so you don't bother knocking. You step into the lush greenhouse that is the Archmagos office. Vines and moss seem to cover every surface, the stone that lies beneath only rarely visible. Water from a variety of fountains serves to feed the greenery. The office is divided into two levels, with the lower level serving as some sort of audience chamber while the upper level seems to be a living space.

The door shuts behind you, a vine slumping to the floor afterwards, and a chair weaves itself out of the vegetation which coats the floor as you take a few hesitant steps into the room. Suresh calls down from the floor above. “Have a seat, I'm just fixing a snack. Would you like coffee, tea, perhaps a cookie?”

You sit down and make yourself comfortable, the chairs he weaves form the vines in his room are always surprisingly soft and springy. “I'll take a cup of coffee, if you don't mind. I just had a question for you regarding testing for grandmastery.”

You hear pouring, and Suresh calls down in a voice muffled by what you assume is food. “Absolutely, just a moment and I'll be with you.”

True to his word, Suresh descends the stairs from the second floor of his office with a pot of coffee and a plate of cookies. Two cups are swinging along behind him from vines, tossed from one to another to keep up with him as he walks. He sits down into a chair which weaves itself into existence in an instant and sets the pot of coffee and plate of cookies down on a table which similarly created itself from the vegetation which surrounds you. The cups follow a moment later, set down gently by the vines which held them.

Suresh pours the both of you a cup of coffee and sips his slowly before speaking. “Now then, testing for grandmastery in water I presume? I could probably arrange for the judges and an opponent in... two days time? Depending on schedules and all.”

doubt it.
That arrogance could have been affected by the entity in our head.
And once we get a good few meditations in with mental fortifications we should be well off.
Wearing a warlock armor alone along with purging the entity may be enough.

You tried creating an empty space in the center of the cloud of vys to separate it into two easily manageable chunks. What you ended up doing was creating some sort of strange internal environment where the vys began to rotate rapidly around the empty point at the center. You released it before it resulted in anything, but it might be worth looking into at some point.

Why would you assume that when we have a -4 to all musical rolls? We have to be able to play before being able to mess with it like that.
Also, put an [enter] after "meta-y)" because Organizing our cloak isn't an experiment.

I'm also pretty sure Magnetism(which we don't even know if it's a thing) is an experiment, and Partial Invisibility might be as well.

This was not an imperfection. The "eyes" on the gem and this "imperfection" add up to some kind of spirit or something in that ruby. I don't like it ONE BIT.

Comments on a few things while I eat my lunch and write.
>Plasma blade is kosher from an IC perspective, you've already read about plasma blades and a method to create them.
>Mik has no idea what the hell a uticulus/sacculus/semicircular ear canal is.

>A master on spice is roughly equivalent to 1.5 grandmasters. They're not as powerful as a multi-GM but they're more powerful than your average GM.
>Varistha could curb stomp even a spiced up (single) Grandmaster in a fair fight without breaking a sweat. It would just be a matter of using elements that the spiced up GM wasn't good with, or closing to melee.

As far as GMing and robes and whatnot goes, the color coding of Vatis robes is universal across all the lands of the former Rhynian Empire (save for a few exceptions) as well as within the Shahdom of El-Amin. The Samrajya of Kulkarni has its own, weirder system to mark Vatis skill level. Thus, wearing Grandmaster robes that you got in the Academy of Anthus will still carry weight in El-Amin, even if you still won't be allowed to enter the Grand Library because you aren't a Grandmaster in El-Amin. People will still know you're a Grandmaster, basically.

Just to reiterate, you will have to earn your robes in El-Amin even if you earn them now in Anthus.

That metal magic trick that Sister Balik did with the Oud would work even if you were a terrible player, but it may or may not work as well as it did when Sister Balik did it. It may end up causing a different effect entirely. Who knows?

Think I got everything important. Back to writing.
>>
>>39053243
Nevermind, I got confused with the tower of vatis that got independent in Aleamond.
>>
>>39053243
Oh and to answer your question, I think Soma said something about the water plants not affecting the power of water vatis, at least in the grand scheme of things, because it was something like manual labor for them.
>>
You hold up a hand, begging pause. “Actually, Suresh. I was thinking that I ought to schedule it for a week from now, maybe a week and a half. You see, I have other business to attend to elsewhere in the region. It's rather pressing, and I'd rather not put it off anymore than I already have. Scheduling it for a week from now would allow me to accomplish what I must and take the test on my way through Anthus.”

Suresh rest his coffee cup in his lap, shrugging his shoulders. “I don't see why not. In fact, that's far easier on my end than the alternative. It gives me time to pick the judges with care and find an opponent that ought to be a match for your skill. I'll be sure to pick different judges this time around. I think that would be for the best, since I assume you won't be taking anything to enhance your already considerable skill.”

You calmly sip your coffee, shaking your head. “No, I won't. I no longer possess the substance I took previously. I gave what remained of it to Varistha Sehzade as a parting gift, a thinks for all the help he'd given me.”

Suresh raises an eyebrow. “Has he not perished? I'd heard that he died fighting the pirates that have plagued our coast for decades, after an Aghtaki caused some sort of massive explosion on the island where the cowards hid. I'd thought the story ridiculous, but I suppose you were that Aghtaki?”

You can't help but grin. “Seems I'm getting a bit famous. Yes, I was the one who caused the explosion. There was this storage chamber full of dozens upon dozens of barrels filled with some sort of black powder which explodes when exposed to flame. I set off the entire storage chamber, wouldn't you know it I destroyed nearly half the island.” You neglect to mention that the Varistha died, or at the very least vanished, because the explosion you set off damaged a Rhynian generator and opened a portal to the void.

(1/2)
>>
Suresh shakes his head admiringly. “My my, Mikhael. You do get around, don't you? Well then, I suppose it's good to know that this time your trial will be a fair one. Was there anything else you wished to discuss?”

You decide to sample one of the cookies that Suresh has laid out. They're simple sugar cookies, but he's sprinkled them with cinnamon. Not exactly the most complex recipe but good none the less. After washing the cookie down with a sip of bitter, black coffee you turn your attention back to Suresh. “Actually, yes. I need a room to stay in for the night, as I'm expecting something in the mail from a friend of mine that I ordered delivered here. I was also hoping you might fill me in on what happened after I fled the city, recent events if you will.”

Suresh smiles, settling back into his chair. “Of course you can have a room. Unfortunately our faculty dormitories are filled, we've made a few recent hires, and our available guest rooms have been reserved for the retinue of a foreign king we're expecting within the next few days, Rex Aelius of Agrealla. I doubt you've heard of his polity, it rest in what was once the Rhynian heartland and serves as a foil to the power of Aleamond. Most of their strength rest within the hands of Vatis, and indeed the Rex himself is quite knowledgeable in the arts. We'll be discussing a sort of... exchange program, if you will. A trade in knowledge and artifacts. I must admit, I'm quite looking forward to it.”

(2/3)
>>
He waves a hand as if to clear the air. “Anyway, I'm getting off topic. Rooms, yes? We have the student dormitories available, though they're rather crowded we should have a free room available there. I could also put you up in one of the staff apartments. They're not quite as nice as our guest rooms but I assure you, they're still far better than any inn room you could find in any district of the city, Upper or Lower.”

2
To keep it a secret.

By the by, this doesn't apply to this vote but going forward, I'm not going to accept votes from new IPs during final destination votes. That should, hopefully, prevent samefagging to some extent, though I doubt it will actually stop samefagging.

Just post once in the thread when you show up, either a vote or as part of a discussion or whatever. People bitch about other people using phones to samefag, this ought to limit that to some extent. >>
>>39054916
Good question
>>
>>39054916
This is a complicated question with many layers of answers. Partially, it depends on the clime and location of which the party is at the time that defecation occurs. Of course, there is "spontaneous defecation" which may occur during a battle sequence. Typically this type does not get "wiped" in the traditional senses.

More to come on this important and auspicious topic.

>>
>>39054916
Well, if I wanted to be accurate than I would just say that they use their hand and some water. That's how the Arabs wipe their asses to this very day. However, I'm going to say that El-Amin adopted the Rhynian tradition of using a wet sponge on a stick to wipe their ass, washing it in flowing water between uses. Water Vatis would likely just run water between their ass cheeks.

You think it over for a short while. Sure, staying in the student dorms might be fun. It would provide you a fantastic opportunity to screw with people. However, the staff apartments sound significantly nicer than the student dorms. “I think a room in the staff apartments would be my preference. Where are the staff apartments?”

Images flash through your thoughts, of a three story building not actually attached to the Academy but within the walls. There's a small path that branches off the main walk of the Academy, it will take you to the staff apartments. Suresh voice cuts through the haze of images, drawing you back into the here and now. “The first floor of the building is a storage and testing facility, so you'll have to excuse the mess. The top two floors are for the use of the staff. Just pick a door without a name plaque on it.”

Interesting, seems you'll get to see some of the things the Academy is testing then. You finish off your cup of coffee and set it down on the table that Suresh has so kindly wove from the foilage which covers the room. “Now, recent events. What have I missed since I set off to resume my travels?”

Suresh shrugs his shoulders. “Oh, nothing in particular. After the death of Lord Spiros there was a fire in the Upper District which burned down a few homes. It displaced quite a number of merchants, even a few nobles. Fortunately the blaze was contained by a team of water vatis and volunteers, but a few dozen individuals perished in the blaze. It was started in an old abandoned house, probably by a few reckless teenagers.”
(1/3 or 4)
>>
He continues on, seemingly uncaring of the loss of life. You feel just a touch guilty due to your part in the fire, but really it was Profectus' fault. “Lord Spiros was not a beloved man, his death was celebrated in every bar in Anthus. Nobody likes the taxman, after all. Elections are scheduled to select a new Lord Steward. They'll begin on the fifteenth and run until the twentieth, counting the votes will probably take another two or three days. Personally I support Arlen Barlow, a friend of mine. He's Aleamondian by birth but I'll be damned to burn in Surya's maw if anyone could claim that the man didn't have a way with coin.”

You've no doubt that Suresh will be donating a generous sum to this Arlen fellow to support him during the elections. You're not sure why Anthus would insist on a form of republican government, they're weak and prone to subversion. If anything the fact you had to assassinate one of the elected leaders to prevent him from calling down a mercenary army to sack the city proves that. You might not like the Shah, but at least having all the power centralized in one man subjects the nation to the whim of only one tyrant, instead of several. To each their own, you suppose.

“Besides the assassination, the fire, and the subsequent elections that little game of yours has been making quite a stir, even outside of the Academy. Demetrios has organized demonstrations throughout the city and has started to host gladiatorial matches between Vatis for the amusement of the masses. There's actually a bar in the Lower District that has created a dedicated arena for such displays. I must admit, it's a fascinating little concept. I look forward to seeing how it develops.”
>>
>>39056014
Actually you're just doing what Soma expects of you. Because of the environment and his expectations.
So we should do it far more often.
Because it's expected.
Since quests.
And /tg/.

>>
>>39056037
>a few dozen individuals perished in the blaze.
Sheeeeiiiitt, Prof better not hear that
>>
He cocks his head to the side, counting off on his fingers as he relates to you other recent events. “Lord Hodei has led an army north to join with the Warlord in his campaigns to subdue Elven lands, in exchange for his help against our ancient enemy Polop. Lord Onur and Rahat are thus the only two Lords currently in residence. They seem to be managing well enough. Oh, and Chiron went to war with Magna Polis, quite a number of Anthosian young men opted to sign on with the army as it passed through our lands on the way to the battlefield. Mercenaries are paid well, after all.”

Suresh shrugs his shoulders.“Other than that, there was a festival two weeks ago to celebrate the coming of spring. The Temple of Ora opened its doors and handed out free food to any and all. The Temple of Mageia put on a display of magical and acrobatic prowess. The Temples of Logiki and Choros revealed a plan to construct houses for the poor and destitute on the other side of the bridge. The Temple of Moira hosted its usual celebration of the dead the day after the festival, commending the souls of the faithful to their goddess. As usual, neither the Temple of Niki nor the Temple of Entropia participated.”

The Elven gods, if you recall correctly. You think Profectus has mentioned them in the past. You didn't really think there was much of an Elven population in Anthus, but you suppose many humans worship Elven gods as well. After all, the Rhynain gods were just adapted Elven gods from a local pantheon.

You chat for a short while about mostly inconsequential things, eventually excusing yourself as it's getting late. You still have a few hours to kill, but you sort of want to hunt down Demetrios' classroom and interrupt him for fun, and to see just how it is that students are taught at this Academy. Suresh excuses you, but a thought strikes you as you open the door.
(3/4)
>>
>>39055989
That's the spirit. As I was compiling the quest notes and novel, I saw how silly and stupid all the arguments I got into were. We're all just a bunch of faggots not liking how their peers play pretend, getting into slapping fights and counting "points" won in unnecessary arguments that really weren't points. It's made me much calmer during quests. 90% of the disagreements we have are because of simple misunderstandings.
>>
Turning once more to face Suresh, you speak. “Oh, by the way. I nearly forgot. Dragons have returned to the world. The ship I was sailing in on was nearly attacked by one, but I managed to establish a telepathic link with the creature which seemed to confuse it. It didn't speak any language I recognized, nor did it seem to understand me, but it still left us alone. Anyway, I'd recommend preparing for dragon attacks if I were you.”

You slip out of the room without waiting for a response, descending the stairs at a leisurely pace.

>>
>>39056507
But that what we're talking about

You decide to seek out Demetrios, if only to screw with him. It ought to prove amusing. Once you reach the bottom of the stairwell you head right, towards the hallway which houses not only the guest rooms, the faculty and student dormitories, and Hayes' workshop but also the classrooms and most of the other facilities available at the Academy. There are far fewer students in the halls than there were before your brief meeting with Suresh, so you can only assume that classes are once more in session.

You keep an eye on the doors which line the hallway, most of them seem to be classrooms. You assume the name plaques on the doors are the teachers who teach in each room, which ought to make finding Demetrios much easier, but you don't see his name listed on any of the doors in this particular branch of the hallway.

The hallway turns, leading you towards Hayes' workshop. You continue to keep an eye out for Demetrios name anywhere but you still don't see it. You pass Hayes workshop, eventually coming to a stairwell. Before ascending you take a moment to check the sparing grounds, which are only a little further down the hall. You find a young woman and a young man in the midst of kicking the crap out of one another, but no Demetrios. Thus you return to the stairwell and ascend to the second floor.

(1/2)
>>
The second floor is much better lit than the first floor, there are far more windows. You imagine it has something to do with the fact the darkened hallway on the first floor is lined on both sides by classrooms and other such facilities. Proceeding down the hallway you find that this level is more crowded than the first floor. Students lounging about the hall even when classes are presumably in session.

You don't find Demetrios name anywhere at first, but finally spot it after turning a corner. His name is listed on a brass plaque on the second to last door in the hallway before it turns towards what would be the entrance to the Academy, Grandmaster Demetrios Zabat. There seems to be some sort of student lounge at the end of the hall. You hear chatting and the angry whistle of a tea pot, as well as someone playing an oud, although for some reason it sounds very high pitched to your ear, and the acoustics are wrong. Must be a really shitty oud.

Why don't we sneak into his class disguised as a student and start turning him invisible randomly to fuck with the class?
>>
>>39057089
I like this but what kind of medidation? Produce some ideas people.

Let's get something out of this.
Maybe turn the room into a metal box with no way in or out?

So it seems like you're going to disguise yourself and sneak in, specifics can be handled from there. Where do you plan on getting student's robes?

Seduce a female student and get her to take us back to her room. Then, once she's undressed, we steal her robes and run away. It's perfect.

If you count the pretend to be Morgan Freemen votes as fuck with people while invisible then invisibility wins out. Not sure why you counted them separately but it's too late now I guess, oh well.

You buy more party members that are good at fighting them and then come back later. They're not for starter characters unless you're playing EZ-mode. Also that place only has like one good item in it that gets invalidated later so it's a PoS temple.

>>39057941
That seems about right. You position the fighter in the door, oh no wait they all teleported on top of the wizard, but don't move him or they will kick his ass. oh, but they also kick his ass anyway.

Here lies Firedorn, a hero in bed,
He once was alive, but now he's dead,
The last woman he bedded, turned out a man,
And crying in shame, off a cliff he ran.
