You sit in your garden with Isla and the girls later that evening.

“So they just left?” asks Isla incredulously “just because you wouldn’t give them what they wanted?”

“It seems clear they want some sort of concessions” you say “but I’m not willing to subject our citizens to the laws or foreign lands that see their very existence as a crime.”

Isla leans back on the bench you are both sat on and laughs “spoken like a true politician” she says, giggling “so Sireyi, how many governments have you toppled, two, three?”

“What’re you trying to say?” you ask in a bantering tone, you know where this conversation is going, the two of you have had it before.

“For someone with such a problem with authority” says Isla “It’s funny to hear you talking like a ruler.”

“I don’t have a problem with authority!” you protest, grinning.

“And all those governments you toppled?” says Isla “they just fell over on their own?”

“Ellahi dealt with the government in Drache” you say “I only helped topple the government in Gorim – if you can call a mad king a government. So one, I’ve toppled maybe one government.”

“The day’s not over yet” laughs Isla.
>>
You are sat outside watching Fulima, Neyma and Salicia run around in your garden, hiding in the bushes and chasing one another. It’s a typical summer evening, meaning it’s merely cold, instead of freezing. You need to...no, you’re not going to worry about that now, you’re just spending time with your family for now. You watch your daughters in silence for a few minutes, Isla cuddled up to your side.

“Copper for your thoughts” says Isla, brushing a stray hair out of your face.

“Hmm, oh nothing” you say “just thinking about the Mages Guild, about how to deal with them, and about Magister Lorden.”

“Yeah” says Isla, her head resting on your shoulder “Say, why not take a few days off, come and help me deal with the wild magic region: let Parliament deal with affairs of state for a few days.”

“There’s so much to do here” you say “diplomats, mages, sometimes the occasional dragon.”

“The diplomats aren’t going to say anything new” says Isla “and the mages walked out on *you* - if you chase after them they’ll think you’re desperate and demand more, let them stew for a few days.”

“You said you didn’t need help sorting the region” you say, recalling how tired Isla has been “Are you *sure* you’re ok?”

“I’m fine” says Isla, waving off your concern “I’ll sort it eventually, it’ll just go faster with your magical strength helping is all.”

“There’s still Magister Lorden to deal with” you fret “I don’t know what he is and he feels...dangerous somehow.”

“He’s been here almost a week with the rest of the mages and hasn’t done anything you said” says Isla “Maybe he has some sort of master plan – in which case have him watched. You can easily teleport back here if you need to.”

“I suppose...” A few days away with Isla would be nice, just the two of you...

“Jal is already coming with” says Isla.

“I thought she was back in Dalvin” you say, surprised. Jal has many talents, but serious arcane magic is not one of them, why would she be going with Isla?
>>
Isla shakes her head and grins “Sofia found out that Jal got hurt” she says “you know how she takes that, Jal is looking for an excuse to put off a scolding for a few days.”

“Oh Jal” you say, shaking your head, as you see your three daughters running towards the something.

“Well?” asks Isla, your daughters almost on you.

What are you going to do over the next few days?

>I’m needed here, affairs of state
>Go with Isla and Jal
>Other task (what?)
>>
How does demon summoning work in Drache? They have plenty of demons there as well. Although I imagine being the sole power helps a lot.

>>39582657
> I'm needed here, affairs of state
I would love to go with them, but I can't help but feeling putting the mage negotiations off longer tha necessary would be abandoning our subjects, who ultimately suffer from not having this settled.
Could we try shutting down summoning before leaving, that would be a good way to put up negotiation pressure too.
>>
>>39582657
I'll go with you.
Let me at least talk to one delegation before going, though. The other two will be pissed, but there's that.
>>
>>39582657
>I'm needed here, affairs of state
Wait, didn't the mages say they had to modify the summoning spell to summon demons from this realm?
>>
>>39582703
Adaptive Sanctuary could block their summoning magic if we tell it to.
>>
>>39582737
Pretty sure Pally said that, but yes.
>>
So, Milli the mini-paladin has three power sources, right? One is Angelic, one presumably Konig's powers. What's the third, you reckon?
Storm? Black Dragon? Or some ambient demonic power seeped into her while in Drache?
>>
>>39582746
I assume storm. Seems the most likely, while Vivi will most likely have Angel and Black Dragon.
>>
Do you guys want to spend another thread on negotiations? QM is giving us an out.

I would support that as option for leaving, if we forewarn the succubi.
>>
>>39582743
...well, then, why don't we say, "Hey, you need to apply to Oreia for a permit to use that spell."
>>

Yes I do, because it important for our people.

>>39582783
We don't really have a lot left that we can do here. Muiren and Orlath diplomats are irrelevant, the weapon merchants annoy me and chasing the mages won't do us any good.

>>39582798
With AS, we probably could.
>>
>>39582798
We can always go to war with them.
>>
>>39582741
I don't see anything in Adpative Sanctuary allowing for that in regards to not-evil magic?
>>
>>39582808
>With AS, we probably could.
Negotiating the circumstances of that is why we are talking to begin with. The succubi want to be summoned, thas why we are talking with them at all.

>>39582808
>We don't really have a lot left that we can do here.
Muiren is everything but irrelevant, and we need to figure out what that Magister is.
>>
>>39582811
Pretty sure that summoning demons pings as evil.
>>
>>39582808
>We don't really have a lot left that we can do here.
negitating with the mages is the only thing of particular relevance right now, and leaving this issue unadressed completly serves nothing but to harm our citizens by letting them stay vulnerable to summoning.
I was willing to compromise on shutting down summoning in the meantime, but sadly there was no support for it from people who wanted to leave, so we have to stay.
>>
>>39582811
It can designate certain kinds of magic as not-evil, I assumed it could work in reverse.

I'm pretty sure my original write-up for the power mentioned it being able to block specific kinds of magic.

>>39582834
>Muiren is everything but irrelevant
They want us to break our alliance with our sister. The only thing they'd get are some nice words and nothing else, since there's no way we'll agree to the one thing they want.

AS allows us to exempt specific individuals from the effects of our Sanctuary, which could be used to mimic the permit system. Maybe we can find a way to bottle that effect.

>>39582865
Staying wouldn't really make a difference in that regard, since the mages aren't going to resume negotiations for a while (one of their leaders wants to postpone a solution as long as possible, the Serec) and chasing them isn't something we can do.

I failed to include shutting down summoning in my vote because I'm a dumb.
>>
ok, looks like a tie, but please check my count. Breaking tie in favour of staying for now.
>>
>>39582890
One voted for leaving, but not now, so it looks like staying for a moment is the compromise decision.
>>
>>39582664
>How does demon summoning work in Drache?

You didn't really study how Drache deals with it, you could always discuss with Ellahi.

>Can Adaptive Sanctuary stop summoning?

In-character you are not sure, you can always try it.

Writing update
>>
>>39582890
The tie-breaker would be >>39582718
who voted for staying for one more task, if we make that task shutting down summoning, I believe we could get the majority to be happy, no?
>>
>>39582889
>one of their leaders wants to postpone a solution as long as possible, the Serec
And you are not at all worried about that?
>>
>>39582889
>They want us to break our alliance with our sister. The only thing they'd get are some nice words and nothing else, since there's no way we'll agree to the one thing they want.
Doesn't change that we should still at least try to talk to them about the issue.
>>
>>39582908
Didn't we talk to our Ellahi during the timeskip? I'm pretty sure it would have come up, seeing as how we are now a leader of a nation of demons.
>>
FUCK YEAH! PALADIN OF JOY QUEST!
>>
>>39582981
It seems like a very recent issue. Normally summoning from the same plane isnt really possible.
The modified spell probably didn't come into use until shortly before the end of the timeskip.
>>
I'm worried the Serec are summoning our citizens and doing something to them. Succubi have pseudopsychic abilities in the form of their empathy. We should block summoning attempts first thing to foil that hypothetical.
>>
>>39582981
The specifics of how Drache deals with it did not come up during your talks with her.

Mostly you talked about politics and managing a demon-nation on a large scale, than specifics.

You know Drache has a rules for demon summoning, but not what they are exactly.
>>
>>39582995
If the modified spell is easier to cast, it would make sense for drache magicians to use it and Ellahi to know about it.
>>
>>39583028
Assuming they knew about the existence of such a spell and its not a innovation here. Which it very possibly is.
>>
Before you can answer your daughters arrive and you spend your next half an hour marvelling over the squirrel they caught, and explaining why they need to let it go, followed by playing with them for much of the evening.

That night in bed with Isla you tell her “I can’t leave now, there‘s too much to do. Every day I don’t negotiate some sort of settlement with the Mages Guild of Dornmer our citizens are vulnerable to summoning spells, this needs to be resolved as soon as possible.”

“I understand” says Isla, kissing you “but you need to take some time for yourself too Sireyi, all work and no play huh?”

“Are you saying I’m dull?” you ask her, raising an eyebrow.

“Oh no” Isla reassures you “For a boring government bureaucrat you’re very exciting, I’m sure.”

“Why you- I’ll show you exciting!” you say as you grab Isla and roll her onto her back, pinning her beneath you and starting to tickle her “Who’s boring now!”

The two of you don’t spend much time talking that night.
---
The next morning you and Isla spend some time with your daughters, before seeing Isla head off to her work and seeing the girls in the care of Aunt Anniya.

Finally, you sit down with Kaela, and plan out what you’ll be doing today.

“I wish I could just stop all the summoning until we have agreements in place” you say to Kaela moodily, the two of you are in your office.

Kaela gives you an odd look “Can you do that my Queen?” she asks.

“Maybe” you say moodily “I’ve been thinking of trying it, but I’m worried that it might not work, or might block more than what I intend.”

“Even the possibility of such could be used as a bargaining tactic with the mages guilds” says Kaela. Maybe, but you’d like to know if its an empty threat or not first.
>>
“Maybe I should speak to Ellahi” you say to Kaela “Drache must have some sort of legal framework for this.”

“You needn’t go in person” says Kaela “You have servants and envoys for that sort of thing – just send someone to Drache with orders to buy books on summoning law, or hire a Drache lawyer to talk you through it.”

“Good point” you note. As much as it would be nice seeing Ellahi again, you’re not sure you have the time.

“Would you like me to send someone to Drache?” asks Kaela, her quill poised to take notes “and to schedule some time for you this morning to try blocking summoning magics?”

What are you going to do next?

The Oisens wring their hands and say how terrible it is that war is looming for your new nation, and would you like to place an order for some weapons, siege engineers and mercenary companies?

The Muiren diplomat has warned you again and again that your alliance with the Azure Empress is intolerable, and that unless you spurn your sister, there will be...consequences.

“Yes to both of those” you say “Send an envoy to buy books, talk to lawyers, whatever it takes to become an expert.”

“Very well my Queen” says Kaela, making a note of it.

“And I will be busy for...some time” you say, you’re not really sure how long it will take to change your Sanctuary, but it’s best done without distractions.

“Very good my Queen” says Kaela.
---
You stand alone on a mountaintop, looking out at as much of your realm as you can see.

It never really goes away, the feeling of your sanctuary, but sometimes you get distracted by what’s going on around you and you don’t pay attention to it.

But here, with no distractions, you can feel...everything. You can feel succubi crossing back and forth over your sanctuary at the borders, your sanctuary letting you know its letting them in as exceptions. You can feel a bunch of evil presences on your border blocked by your sanctuary, in the direction of the Tribal Lands not yet ruled by your sister, a scouting party perhaps. You feel all of that and more. You are more than just your physical body, you feel connected to your whole nation.

You focus and you can feel...magic being used to call your citizens away from within your Sanctuary. You simply experience it for a while, trying to determine how often this is happening, as well as how often they return. Seems like a few summoning, and returning every minute. You reach out to your Sanctuary and try to stop them being summoned away, whilst allowing those at the end of a summoning spell to return. After a few false starts it works. You can still feel summoning spells attempting to breach your Sanctuary but they simply slide away, unable to breach it, at the same time, you can still feel succubi returning to Oreia, a few every minute, uninterrupted.
>>
Then you feel something strange, a different summoning spell, also blocked by your Sanctuary, but much stronger than a regular mage and not aimed at calling something out of your realm, but rather summoning something into it.

It’s tried again, and finally a third time. The last time it’s so powerful it almost breaches your Sanctuary, only an archmage, or a group of powerful mages or something similar would have that amount of power, what could it be?

You wait in case a fourth attempt is tried, but after a half hour there is nothing more. You return home, wondering what else was being summoned into and out of your realm, before you stopped it.

You teleport back to your home and seek out Kaela.

“My Queen?” she asks, as she reviews messages from Parliament, in case anything requires her attention. You’ve found her in her office, adjoining yours.

“It’s done” you say “there will be no more summoning into or out of Oreia until I allow it.”

“I expect the guild representatives will request a new meeting soon then your Majesty” says Kaela approvingly “in fact I have a message here” she waves a piece of paper “from them that” unfolding it, her eyebrows shoot up, “hmm, curious”.

“What?” you ask.

“Magister Lorden sends his apologies” she says “but he has had to return back to his guild house, he says a new representative will be with us in a few weeks. That’s odd.”

Very odd, guild mages can usually afford teleportation, and you have areas set aside for this. It sounds as though his replacement is coming overland, and is Magister Lorden teleporting back to Dornmer, or going by carriage too?

Because Lorden means trouble. He is not in oreia, finding him will take time, and if trouble does happen, we know he is packing a punch already.
I don`t want to postpone the meeting too much, and don`t want to come back to Oreia in a bad shape. What if they see that Sireyi got hurt by the Serec? They could summon them enmasse against her and use them as threats.

Him meaning obviously trouble seems like the biggest reason to find out what he is up to ASAP.

“Please tell the guild mages I intend to speak to them soon” you say to Kaela, as you head out of her office, moving quickly.

“Your Majesty?” asks Kaela “what’s wrong?”

“Magister Lorden” you say, picking up speed in the corridor outside “him leaving as soon as I’ve blocked summoning is suspicious, I need to talk to him before he leaves!” you yell the last of this over your shoulder at Kaela and once outside you take to the air, your succubi bodyguard following you.

Captain Ialis flies alongside you “Your Majesty” she says, panting with the effort of keeping up, as you move far faster than your bodyguards “What’s wrong?”

“Hopefully nothing” you say, heading for the teleportation grounds, just outside the city. You land and rush over to the young girl overseeing the grounds, who looks a little awestruck at meeting you, the dozens of the royal guards landing around her doesn’t help with her composure.

“Er, your Majesty..?” she squeaks out, holding her ledger in front of her like a shield.

“It’s alright” you say, smiling at her, “I just need a record of departures.”

She hands the ledger over without a word. You scan it but no Lorden, damn!

In truth he could have teleported from anywhere, but you request visitors teleport from here.

“Your Majesty?” asks Captain Ialis “What’s wrong?”

“Magister Lorden left suddenly, as soon as I stopped the summons” you say “Also, someone tried to summon something in at the same time, something powerful I think.”

“If not by spell” says the Captain “then by coach?”

“Possibly” you concede, your realm has serviceable roads. But why would a Magister...

Wait, you didn’t tell them what you’re doing, if they tried to summon something and failed, you could have stopped summon spells, or all teleportation/extra-dimensional travel. You’re sure you’ve only stopped summons, but they don’t know that.

You fly ahead, until the coach drivers can see you, and then you descend, saying in a loud voice “I need you to stop please.”

The drivers pull the horses to a half as you land ahead of them, your guards landing around you.

One of the drivers pulls his hat off and asks in a lowly-born accent “Er, milady, what do ye want?”

“I need to speak to Magister Lorden” you say.

As if on cue, Magister Lorden leans out of the coach window and yells up at the driver “Why have stopped, I specifically told you...oh...” he trails off as he notices you and your guards.

Magister Lorden” you say, walking forwards “I would like to speak with you, before you leave.”

As before he has a number of not-quite-magic effects on him, the same ones as before – effects that are defensive but would be very nasty to be affected by – including agony, poison, and madness.

Magister Lorden climbs out of his carriage and approaches, seeming agitated “I’m sorry to leave so abruptly” he says “but something came up urgent family business.”

The coachmen seem genuinely worried, and also seem completely human and mundane to you.

“The teleportation grounds are open” you say “I’m sure we can have you home sooner, if its that important.”

“I’m afraid I am unable to teleport” he says “A mishap in my apprentice years means I get sick if I do.” You don’t recall how he arrived, but most of the other Magisters teleported.

You focus your deific power to pierce his disguise and measure his emotional state.

“What did you try to summon?” you ask.

“Summon?” says Magister Lorden, seeming confused “I didn’t try to summon anything.”

At least, his human facade appears confused, his true self remains confident and calm.

“Really?” you ask, raising an eyebrow “that’s your story and you’re sticking to it, even though it’s a lie?”

Lordens expression shifts, until his human appearance has the same expression as his true self – calm and confident “I really thought I could fool you longer” he says.

“But you didn’t” you say “So what did you try and summon?”

*Lorden* shrugs “A messenger” he says “I send regular missives, when I was unable to summon one, I thought you might have found me, but with no attack forthcoming, it seemed your attentions were elsewhere.”

“So you’re a spy?” you ask “Where did you send messages too?”

Lorden chuckles, and shakes his head “I won’t say” he says “but congratulations, you found me, I’ll be going now.” He turns his back on you and heads towards his carriage.

>If that's the case, Dispel Magic probably won't work either
Obviously, I wasn't arguing about that, I was just saying that Disjunction might not work.

And I'm more worried about him using mind-affecting stuff on our guards.

There is also the issue how he got in here, whatever he is, its certainly not something we would have included into our Sanctuary, so he is either not evil or he somehow managed to breach our Sanctuary without us noticing.
>>
“You’re not leaving” you say “Not until you answer some questions first.”

Lorden smirks at you “Really, you think you can stop me?” he gestures at your guards “and how many lives are you willing to throw away trying?”

Captain Ialis steps in front of you and points her spear at him “Lay one hand on the Queen and you will suffer.”

“Captain” you say quietly “let me handle this.”

Captain Ialis steps aside as you say to Lorden “this doesn’t have to end in violence, tell me who you work for and why you’re here and I’ll be as merciful as I can be.”

Lorden laughs “Merciful, how...quaint. Here’s my offer: walk away and you’ll never see one of us again. Fight me, and not only will you not stop me, but a lot of your followers will die.”

“I said, you’re not leaving” you repeat.

Lorden stretches out his arms and breathes deeply “Have it your way, I always wondered how-”

In-between one moment and the next he attacks, his speed is incredible and he catches your guards by surprise, heading straight for you. His human disguise disappears and you’re facing an 8ft-tall muscular humanoid that has insect-like armour and an inhumanly beautiful face. In one hand a whip-like weapon appears, with a snake head on the end, and in the other hand a triple-bladed dagger appears.

He’s fast, but so are you, as he swings for you, you avoid the snake-like whip and the dagger scrapes across your skin, inflicting surface injuries only.

[HP 388/398]

You also feel a burning on your skin, that quickly disappears, seems his weapons are poisoned.

“Attack!” commands Captain Ialis, your guard closes in around the two of you, as the coachmen stay seated, looking utterly shocked.

“Back off!” you command your bodyguards. Obediently they begin to retreat to a distance as you add “and go back and warn the staff – he could have allies or helpers still remaining behind.” Several of your bodyguards head back to the city, the rest remain behind, but keep their distance, as instructed.

Turning your attention to Lorden you cast your spell, stripping his defences away. Although whatever he uses is a type of magic you’re not that familiar with, whatever it is can still be defeated by your own powers, which is a relief.

You also cast a spell to protect your mind, against anything he might do, and then try to avoid his next attacks.

[AE 90/97]
Again Lorden attacks, this time both attacks hit you, the snake-whip biting into your skin, but its poison is likewise useless against you.

[HP 381/398]

His dagger on the other hand blazes with a sickly green/black flame and when it hits, it hurts like being hit with a demon-forged weapon. Its clearly magical to your sight, but you're not sure of its exact effects.

[HP 322/398]

As the dagger hits you, you hear Lorden mutter something under his breath, a command word maybe?

Your Mind Blank spell within you starts to dissolve, the arcane energies running wild, your body feeling like it’s on fire. Fortunately you maintain control of the spell for now at least, and the burning feeling subsides as the mystical energies of the spell resume their proper form. You find yourself wondering how useful a dagger like that would be for you.

Your healing abilities work on your injuries.

You don’t respond to his taunts but instead you cast your Disjunction spell again, focusing on his dagger this time.

As your magic strikes it, the dagger crumbles to ash in his grip.

[AE 82/97]

Then you swing for him, imbuing your strike with electricity, trying to shock him badly enough to slow him down.

He quickly dodges back out of your reach but you focus your deific power and reality blurs around you. Suddenly the two of you are much closer together and your fist connects solidly with his side, eliciting grunt of pain, and then he staggers back, twitching, as your lightning courses through his body, disrupting his nervous and muscles.

As he wavers, your bodyguard look ready to rush in, but you yell at them “Stay back!”

He reaches out a hand towards the coachmen and before your eyes they start to waste away, as if their flesh is melting off their bones, in less than a second only a pair of skeletons are left behind. Those poor men, his comments about killing your guards take on a new, sinister meaning.

“Invigorating” says Lorden. He’s no longer twitching or showing any other effects of your static fist. No wonder your guards didn’t scare him, he likely plans to use them to heal himself.

In his now empty hand appears a blade of energy, made of green and black-coloured fire. He brings it up into a guard position.

Thanks to your healing abilities, you are now fully recovered from his attacks.

We are plenty worried about them, we put up a huge sauit of mundane and magical defenses around Mili and Vivi, and then our Twin tested those defenses and improved them even more.
There is no reason to assume we didn't put up at least as much defenses around the triplins.

Yeah sure, our most potent foes might be able to penetrate those, but without a full assault, thats not very likely.

That's three actions, I think. One for Dragon Form, one for Dispel Magic, one for using the Breath Weapon. Modifying the breath weapon is (R), but the rest are all actions unto themselves.
>>
>>39587014
I took it as obvious that we use Breath reflexive, wasn't sure about Counterspell and Aspect of the Dragon though.
>>

>Fast as the Stormwind
>Earthed Lightning: Static Fist
>Prepare Counterspell
>>
>>39586956
>>39587005
If we're going to Dragon Form, we should use Seraphic Dragon. It grants more Magic Resistance and loses nothing of real value right now.

>>39587030
I think you misunderstood, or I'm misunderstanding now. I'm saying that modifying the breath weapon is an (R) spell, but it still takes a standard action to use the breath weapon you're going to modify.
>>
>>39586906
Fuck him up tbh.

Prep another counterspell though. No matter what he tries next, it won't be good.

And why are the bodyguards still here? They are a liability in this fight. If we can send them away as free action, do it.
>>
>>39587074
My main issue right now is that we can't counterspell and Aspect od the Dragon in one turn, we should probably make the guards leave before that.

>>39586906
>>39587072
going with that and
>Tell the guards to leave
>>
>>39586906

Let's just keep doing this until he loses consciousness. It'll make sure the debuff sticks each round and keep him from doing any magical nonsense.
>>
ok, writing.

No rolls required so far.

I didn't know anymore if Aspect of the Dragon counted as full action. Its been too long, to be honest.

We really need to invest in getting something like Flesh to Stone.

Can we use Deific Power to influence reality on what effect from Prismatic Spray triggers?
>>
>>39587251
Flesh to Stone isn't actually one of the spells we can get.

I don't think Deific spells can be dispelled by non-Deific spells, so maybe a Deific Force Cage would do the trick, though we'd need to pair that with a Deific Dimensional Lock or Deific Dimensional Anchor (though preferably Lock) if that's the case.
>>
>>39587369
>Flesh to Stone isn't actually one of the spells we can get.
Thats why I said "something like", Polymorph Anything would do something similar, for example.

Well it worked once, so why not a second time?

Again you hit Lorden, electricity dancing between the two of you as your fist hits. Again lightning crackles across his body and he seems to convulse, then collapses.

[AE 64/97]

You wait for a few moments but nothing happens, it seems he is truly unconscious.

Captain Ialis alights next to you “Is he...?” she asks, seemingly forgetting your title for a moment.

“Stay back” you tell her, but it seems your warnings are unnecessary, Lorden is unconscious, for now at least.

“What shall we do with him my Queen?” asks Ialis “He seems to be a powerful sorcerer, holding him would be difficult.”

“What do you suggest?” you ask, as you think over your options.

Captain Ialis points her spear at his throat suggestively “Finish him” she says simply.

“Cold-blooded murder?” you say “no, I’m not killing him, nor are you” you tell Ialis.

“Then what?” she asks “I suppose parliament could try him, but for trying to kill you, your Majesty, he would face the death penalty.”

Prison and trial it is, writing final post, then it will be Junior Paladin.
>>
Whilst he’s unconscious is as good a time as any to look into his head. You cast your spell and read his mind.

You dive into a mind of madness and chaos: an ordinary mage trying this would likely go mad, or die, but you’re made of sterner stuff. It’s hard to gather anything useful from the confusing mess of images that are this persons memories, but you gather at least some basic details.

Lorden’s real name is Alythkir and he is a member of some sort of extra-planar race that all have magic-like abilities that they call *psychic powers*. The name they call themselves apparently has some deeper meaning, but sounds a little like Qwekir.

And they really, really hate gods. It has something to do with their own god becoming jealous of their power and trying to wipe them all out thousands of years ago.

Alythkir has no knowledge of an alliance with the God Delax. But he also knows he would not normally be told of such a thing. His mission was to destabilise Dornmer as much as possible, attacking you was an impulse on his part. You can’t locate any information about other agents in his mind, either he doesn’t know or the information is hidden somehow.

Once you have as much as you think you’ll gain you end the spell and say to Ialis “We’re taking him with us, I’ll put him in an anti-magic cell personally, and Parliament can try him.”

“As you wish my Queen” says Captain Ialis, bowing her head.

---

That’s all for the main quest, stand by for Junior Paladin.

You are Milerna Jalweyen, angel-blooded and born paladin of Konig. You are 8 years old, and are attending paladin training at a church of Konig school.

http://pastebin.com/RE8br4uf

Today, you killed a boy. Your hands are stained with his blood, and he is pinned underneath you.

Nearby, Jenny is approaching another downed bully, her hands glowing. Your friends Michael and Thomas are down and crying.

Your best friend, Chesi, is hugging you, telling you to calm down.

But you killed a boy.

Then you feel his chest rise underneath you, he’s breathing. If he’s breathing, then he can’t be dead, right?

You hear shouting in the distance, it sounds like teachers are coming.

What do you do?

Well the short is, we had bullies(again) want to beat up a girl because she beat them in weapons training, we warned her, she decided to still go on her walk, for whatever reason, and we followed her to help.
Thomas charged in and Mili got hit with a stick and flipped her switch to BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD mode.

>Check on Thomas and Michael

You get up off the boy, you need to check on Thomas and Michael, they could be hurt, dead eve- no, your mind shies away from that thought.

“We need to see if everyone is ok” you say to Chesi, adding “And you’re not supposed to do that here.”

“What?” says Chesi, then notices her wings and horns and tail “Oh, right” she closes her eyes and they start to shrink back into her body.”

“What are you?” croaks a voice, you turn to see Gilyan, still holding a practise sword, which she has pointed at you for some reason. “What’re you doing here?”

“I’m checking on my friends” you say is a breathy voice “They’re hurt.” It’s important that you check on them you think, they could be hurt bad.

You check Thomas and Chesi checks on Michael. “It hurts” moans Thomas, red marks on his face, and one on his forehead.

It sounds like Michael has the same.

Gilyan just watches you as this happens, her sword shaking a little in her hands.

Then you see a flash of white light and you all look at Jenny, kneeling next to one of the bullies. As you watch, the bruises Jenny gave him fade and disappear, and Jenny shuffles towards the nearest bully, the one you hurt, the one you almost...almost...you can feel the tears building. You know you won’t be able to hold them back for long.

“Jenny?” you say, as Chesi keeps an eye on Thomas and Michael, and Gilyan just stands there watching “Jenny are you ok?”

“They’re hurt” says Jenny dreamily “I need to fix them.”

Well, if she can do that to all of them then maybe...

You are vaguely aware of an adult approaching, then kneeling next to you.

“Mili” says a familiar voice “Mili are you ok?”

Aunt Philly?” you ask.
>>
Much later, you and Chesi are sat in Aunt Philly’s office on a big chair.

You can’t remember everything that happened afterwards but you think Aunt Philly sorted it all out. You are sat there with a mug of hot cocoa each as Aunt Philly is outside the door talking to another teacher.

Yelling would be more accurate. You can hear some of the words she is using. They’re bad words.

Suddenly the door opens and Aunt Philly comes storming in and slams the door behind her “Konigs-dammed thick-headed goat-spawned crack-brained stuffed-up, jumped-up pigshit-eating donkey-fucker!” she yells at the closed door in her musical elven voice.

She turns to you and Chesi “Hey Mili, Chesi” she says in a much calmer tone, “How’re you feeling?”

“Better” you say in a small voice, Chesi just slurps her cocoa and nods in agreement.

“So I hear you’ve been getting in a lot of fights” says Aunt Philly, pouring herslf a cocoa from a steaming jug and sitting in a chair opposite you “How did all that happen?”

Your response?

>>
“They started it” you say, awaiting the inevitable scolding.

“Yes they did” says Aunt Philly, not looking at you, but off to one side, like she’s thinking “and I wonder who told them too?” she adds quietly.

“Is everyone ok?” you ask

Aunt Philly looks at you again “Everyone is fine” she says “cuts and bruises are easily healed. I hear you’ve been making friends, why don’t you tell me all about them?”

Haltingly at first, and then with more confidence you tell Aunt Philly about your friends, and what you’ve been doing – this bits that won’t get you in trouble anyway.

Once you’ve caught up to todays events Aunt Philly says “That sounds like loads of fun.” With a funny expression.

“Yeah it was!” says Chesi enthusiastically, having joined in your story part way through, then adding a bit more sadly “but we didn’t get to pick our extra topic.”

That’s when it hit you, that was supposed to be just after lunchtime, and with everything else, you’ve missed it now. That really sucks...

“Don’t worry about that” says Aunt Philly “You can still choose, but first, I need to sort someone, er, something out.”

There’s a knock at the door and then Michael, Thomas, Jenny, and Gilyan walk into your Aunt Phillys office.

“Cadet Thatcher reporting” says Gilyan, saluting Aunt Philly. Michael, Thomas and Jenny just grin at you and Chesi and head over to you.

“Wait here” says Aunt Philly to all of you “I’ll be right back” to Gilyan she says “look after them cadet” And then she leaves the room.

Immediately your friends surround you, wanting to know how you are.

Gilyan keeps her distance, and just looks...worried.

“Are you all ok?” you ask your friends, even as they ask how you are, you all try to speak at once, until finally you all take turns talking.

You break off for a moment and go up to the older girl, Gilyan, she watches you like she’s scared of something.

“Are you ok Gilyan?” you ask.

“Uh yeah” she says, “I’m fine, look uh, thanks for helping out Mili, and all of you.” she sounds embarrassed “Even though you’re just little kids, you took on Gordy and his idiots, thanks.”

“You’re not much older than us!” protests Thomas “We’re not little kids!”

Gilyan stands next to him, much taller and looks down at him “Sure you are” she says and pats him on the head “but thanks, anyways.” Michael just laughs at Thomas, who scowls.

Thomas mutters something about “Girls!” under his breath but before you, Chesi and Jenny can ask him what he just said Aunt Philly comes back in, looking a little angry.

Everyone stops talking as she says “ok, from now on, I’m your personal instructor, you’ll meet me here every morning before your regular lessons, and every evening after dinner. You will report every fight you get into and every rule you break. If any instructor sets you punishment for anything, you tell me first, and yes Cadet Thatcher” she says, as Gilyan starts to speak “this includes you too. Any questions?”

Michael raises his hand “Extra classes?” he asks

“Ah yes, right” says Aunt Philly “Which do you want to take?”

“Magical Theory” says Michael

“Theology” you say, with a reassuring smile at Chesi, who smiles back at you, and takes your hand in hers and squeezes it.

“Right” says Aunt Philly, writing down everyone’s answers “Now get to classes all of you, I have work to do."

With that she shoos you all out of her office. You all stand there in the corridor for a moment, feeling kinda silly then Gilyan says “Ok, so you” she points at you and Jenny “Are Talented kids, and those two" she indicates Thomas and Michael "could almost be normal, but what are you?” she asks Chesi, smiling at her “A mage? Because that was the best illusion I ever saw. Pretending to be a demon to scare them off – great idea.”

“Oh no” says Chesi returning her smile “I’m a succubus.”

Gilyans smile freezes “What?” she says
