For those milling around for something to do, there are a few things.

I suggest collecting books and other items. Those old star charts could be worth some money in the right hands.

The machinery right near the entrance is clearly broken. See if you can't inspect it to figure out what to fix.

The northern part of the tower doesn't end in those bookcases, there is something beyond that. See if you can't get past them.

The western side needs careful exploring. I am expecting more traps so watch your step.
