That is not quite correct sir. You can buff your weapon by exactly 1/2 of its stats. A blunderbus with iron drops can be increased to 6 range and 6 range by using Packed Round and Firing Solution 2 times each. Any more and you risk explosions.

The buffs will only apply to bullets already loaded into a gun however and will not carry over should you reload.
