You wake up after a restful night's sleep to a sizzling sound from down the hall. Your uncle isn't in the room, so it can only mean one thing.

You get up and head to the Uchiha family's kitchen to find your uncle at the stove, fixing omelets. Sasuke and his mother enter soon after you do, surprised at the scene.

"Mornin!" your uncle greets everyone. "Sorry about commandeering your kitchen like that, just took a look around and saw you had eggs galore and well, I couldn't help myself. Sasuke, I remembered you were big on the tomatoes, so I diced some up and threw them into my usual mix. If anyone wants something in particular, just let me know and I'll whip it right up!"

Sasuke's mother doesn't bother with any objections, so your uncle continues to fix breakfast for everyone while you all take a seat. Once everyone's meal is fixed, he joins you and you all eat together.

After breakfast, you head to the hospital. Once you get there, Tsunade immediately grabs you and starts directing you. You spend a few hours treating people, mainly those with minor injuries that are not serious enough to warrant interrupting the elite medical cadre.

As it nears lunchtime, your work slows down a bit. You take a quick break to find Sakura also here.

"Hey, Kon." she waves you down. "I just got back this morning, and they rushed me right in here to help. I only wish I could have been here when it happened."

Sakura looks down. "So I heard Sasuke's dad was killed. And Hinata and the others escaped too. Sasuke's probably going to go right back to focusing on chasing after her."

Sakura is silent for a while before sighing. "Kon, do think I should just give up? I'm not cut out for this 'longing from afar' thing. I haven't told anyone this, but I used to be best friends with Ino, and when I learned we both liked Sasuke, I pushed her away. But now that she moved on and found someone that she cares about and cares about her back, I just feel stupid. What have I been doing all this time? I guess it kind of feels like I only keep going so it doesn't just feel like I threw everything away for no reason."

You're let inside and make your way to the Hokage, to find Neji at his side, in the middle of a conversation with a Hyuuga man you don't recognize. The conversation goes on as if you didn't enter.

"My, my." you hear the Sixth say. "Yet another clan has inheritance issues today."

"You can't be serious, Lord Hiashi?" Neji asks in disbelief. "Me, the next heir?"

"Our clan is facing a complete restructuring." Hiashi begins. "Too many are discontent with the current system. They cite your unmatched skill, and the... unfortunate circumstances of the main family's initial heir. I have come to realize that you are indeed the most skilled of the Hyuuga. As much as I want Hanabi to become the clan head, I would not be opposed to you taking the position. I think my brother would be proud. So you can either insist you take the position, and set tradition aside, or you can let the matter lie, and Hanabi will stay the heir. Your word will be the final say on the matter. There is also a third option, but... I'm a bit hesitant to mention it."

Neji thinks to himself. He looks conflicted. At this point, he notices you.

"Kon, you've come." Neji says, before turning to the Hokage. "Lord Itachi, I'll be right back."

He pulls you out of the room and down the hall.

Well, I figure we've got at least a 30% chance of being the next Hokage once Itachi retires somewhere a few decades down the line. With that, you return to the Uchiha compound. Your uncle has fixed dinner, and Sasuke and his mother are already eating.

The four of you enjoy a nice meal, and make small talk. Sasuke defiantly avoids the subject of potentially being the new clan head, and heads to bed as soon as dinner is finished. You decide to let the matter be for tonight, and head to bed yourself. You may yet breach the topic tomorrow.
