You force your eyes open. That workout yesterday, and that tank stuff, and that Skycraft stuff, it really took it out of you. You dare say the minute you shut the lights and said good night to Winona (who is sleeping right next to you underneath her own blanket) you just fell right to asleep. Probably one of the deepest sleeps of your life.

You yawn, scratching at your chest.

Wait. Your chest isn’t that big. You lift up your blanket, then find Cuddles the ball python snake napping on your chest.

“Winona,” you say. She grunts, curling up more intensely under her sheets. “Winona. Your snake is on my chest.”

“He likes warm places,” she says sleepily.

With a roll of your eyes, you gently pick up the now terrified and skittish Cuddles, then plop him onto Winona’s head. “Mmmh…” is all she can say.

You blink. What time is it anyway? You reach for your watch on the bedstand, then take a look.

8:30 AM.

You jolt upright and scream. “AAAHHHH!” Winona snaps upright as well, catapulting a very hapless Cuddles onto her lap.

“WHAT!?” she yells.

“It’s 8:30! I overslept!” you yell. You hurry out of bed and try to pull on your pantyhose just lying on the floor. Forget getting a new pair, you need to get dressed now! “I have to brush my teeth, I have to get showered!” You stand there, thoughts racing through your mad. “… forget it! I’ll just go to school and nobody will know the difference if I just keep my head low-“

“Wait.” Winona squints at you. “You realize we’re still on vacation right?”

You look down, blushing a bit. “Oh. S-… sorry.” Well, now you feel stupid. You just had a panic attack over school when school isn’t even on yet.

Winona frowns a bit. “You know, just for five minutes, I’d love to be you, just to see what would make you so panicky about waking up at 8:30,” she says.

“You don’t understand, you can do a lot of things when you wake up at 5 AM!” you declare. “You can study, you can jog, you can make breakfast, you can shower, you can… study!” Winona tilts her head as Cuddles starts slithering up her arm. “I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be. It’s kind of cute,” she says. You roll your eyes. It’s not cute when you’re panicking about subjects that might make or break your future. “Don’t worry, this is our little secret.” Good, you were just about to choke her with her pet snake to ensure something like this would never get out. “We have that tank practice today, right?”

“Right.”

Ingrid has buried her face in her arms, apparently tuckered out even with a full night’s sleep. As you all sit in the mess hall having a quick bout of lunch, you, Winona, Stack, and Josephina all look at her, concerned. “Something the matter, Ingrid?”

Ingrid blinks, turning her head up. “Oh, I was just busy catching up on the games last night. Indians lost to the Mariners, Padres lost last night too. It was terrible.”

“Oh, that sucks,” says Stack.

She shrugs. “Always next game.”

“Right, everyone.” They all turn their attention to you. “Today is our first day of practice with the tanks. We’re going to be using the Centaur I tank.”

“So how do we want to do this then?” says Stack. “We’ve already met the Poles, they seem… nice, bless their hearts. But they don’t seem very cooperative. Griselda has had issues in the past. We haven’t even met the fourth team! Are we going to have carry?”

“We might have to,” you say. “I mean, I don’t even know how good we are at the sport. I’m pretty familiar with tanks. So is Winona. And Stack, people say you’re one of the best loaders in the sport.” Stack nods smugly, folding her arms. “Josephina, Ingrid.” The two of them look at you. “Do you guys have experience with tanks?”

“Nope.” Ingrid shakes her head. “I’m more of a fan of baseball.”

Josephina shakes her head. “I uh… I actually prefer Helicraft.” Stack and Winona look at Josephina like she’s crazy, to which Josephina shrinks a little in shyness.

Well, it’s better than nothing at least.

“Well, hey, I’m sure we can do this!” says Stack. “Carry or no carry, y’all seem like a darn good team to work with. We just gotta… er…” She shrugs, trying to figure out the word. “Coordinate!”

“Coordinate,” says Ingrid.

“Coordinate!” Winona declares.

“C- Coordinate,” Josephina quietly says.

Why is everyone saying coordinate.

You slowly and steadily come down from your twenty laps around the gym. After some push ups, some stretches, and a few curl ups, you’re feeling plenty of warmed up. Stack meanwhile is doing pull ups, while keeping a huge weight on her feet. Ingrid and Josephina sit back to back, exhausted and leaning up against each other for support.

Well, seems like everyone’s plenty warmed up. Winona smiles as she runs up to you. “Hey, it’s almost time!” You nod, rubbing some sweat off of your cheeks with a towel. “I gotta say though, I think these warm ups in the gym are kind of fun. As long as we keep in moderation and not like uh… Stack there.”

Stack yells at you all from the pull up bars. “Y’all are pussies!” You roll your eyes at that, crossing your arms.

Winona smiles. “Hey, listen. You think Griselda is gonna have uniforms for us?” Oh definitely. You nod. “I hope she does. I’d love to wear the LGA Tank uniform, it’s so cute!” She hugs herself, grinning. “And I can just imagine you in one. I can see you struggling to get the blouse on what with your-“ She taps your chest, and you slap her hand away, pouting. “Aw come on.”

“Don’t touch my breasts,” you say. “Only that special someone can do that.”

“Aren’t I special?” she asks jokingly.

“In a roommate and co-worker kind of way, yes.”

“Aw.” She frowns a bit. “Guess I’ll have to worker harder.”

You get a ping on your phone just then. It’s Griselda, sending a general text message to all members of her Tankery team. It’s just a reminder that after lunch, there’ll be practice. But also lunch is being served up for free, and that you all will be fitted for your uniforms! You show the message to Winona, and she immediately squeals in delight.

“Yes! We’re getting our uniforms!” she declares. “Awesome!”

Welp, time to hit the showers and head to the HQ then.

-

-

Griselda was not joking about free lunch. Gertrude and her staff were busy serving up the absolutely massive amounts of food. “Hi, there!” It’s Nancy from the Ice Cream shop. “Good to see you all again! Feel free to help yourselves.”

“Gladly,” you and Stack say as you begin stacking chicken wings, mashed potatoes, corn, peas, gravy, and everything else onto your plate. Time to eat while the eating is free.

You look around, and then see Griselda going over a checklist with her crew, Luisa and Yuno. The Poles meanwhile are busy wrestling with each other, palling around with each other even. The fourth crew however appears to have not shown up just yet it seems. Hm.

You smile happily as you walk up to the Polish girls. They all look over, interested in you it seems. “Hi there, my name is Elodie Zumwalt.” They tilt their heads, blinking. “We’re going to be teammates, yeah?”

“Mówi Pani po polsku?” asks one of them. Uh. You blink, glancing around. They immediately start whispering to each other, apparently gossiping and giggling at your expense. Hey now, just because you don’t speak Polish doesn’t mean they can start talking about you in front of you!

One of them, the biggest one at an imposing 5’5 smiles at you. “My name is Serafina Maczek,” she says with an incredibly thick accent. “We are the Junior Polish Student Association.”

“Oh, you speak English then?” you say.

“Tak, trochę,” she says. “I do.” She motions to her other girls. “There is Aleksandra, Marzena, and Ela.” They all smile, nodding to you.

Oh, thank God, at least one of them speaks English.

Wait.

“How come you don’t speak English to Griselda?” you ask.

She motions you closer. “Between you and me, she promised me when we first met that she would learn how to speak Polish.” She smiles nervously, blushing a bit. “I would feel terrible making it go to waste, yes?” Oh, that’s fair you guess. “Do not worry, I will stick with phrases you will soon find yourself familiar with.”

“Alright.” You hold out your hand. “Thanks.” She shakes it, happily.

You bite your lip, trying not to look embarrassed as the Sewing Club finds your every measurement, some in places you didn’t even know were measurable. They’re freshmen like you. “Hm, hm.” And like the old Sewing Club, they’re apparently very handsy, grabbing and groping at your thighs and breasts as if it were nothing.

You sigh. This uniform better be worth it.

Winona, Stack, Josephina, and Ingrid stand off to the side, looking pretty smug that they got theirs done early while you were talking with the Poles. Figures. “Don’t look at me like that,” you say.

“Sorry,” says Josephina as she turns her head down. Aw, now you feel bad. Damn it.

“Come on, there’s nothing wrong with getting fitted. It’s an honor to have something custome made for you,” says Winona.

“Yeah, I remember getting fitted into my first tanker uniform,” says Stack. “I can still fit in it, in fact.”

“I bet you can,” says Ingrid as she looks at her phone. Stack puffs her cheeks out, glaring at Ingrid.

“I bet you’ll look really cute in your uniform though, Ellie.” Winona happily pats her cheeks, grinning. “I can’t wait!”

Don’t worry, they’ll be made of durable materiel, and they’ll be cute as a button too.” The Junior Sewing Club Girls all grin happily, apparently very satisfied with having groped and touched you in all of your tender places.

“Alright, welcome to the first practice session of Lafayette Girls Academy’s NATO Tankery Team!” Griselda claps, and the rest of you applaud in response. “As you can see… we are a crew short today. I haven’t heard back from them yet so it’ll be just us!” You fold your arms, looking around. The Poles seem eager to get into their tank. Your crew as well look pretty eager too. “My name is Griselda, this is my gunner Luisa and my driver Yuno.” The two wave at you all, and you happily salute and clap to their introduction. “We are going to be having a basic practice spar today. I was hoping we’d have four crews, but since… well, one of us will have to stay at the side.”

“Yeah, Griselda!” Gertrude and company cheer Griselda on from one of the observation towers. “Go get ‘em! Wooo!” Griselda blushes intensely, trying to avert her attention from her sister. “Show ‘em who’s boss!”

The field of battle was at the practice range, which was a kilometer long range where you all could practice maneuvers and firing. Now, it was your field of battle with the M26 Pershing on one end and the Centaur I on the other end.

“Alright.” You turn down into the turret and review crew composition.

>>
>>45824797
Our speed isn't exactly that much better an M26 can hit about 40km. Isn't ours around 41? 43?

>>45824823
Depends on ordinance. If we've got the mark 1 high velocity we can pen it from the front.. DEAD ON no angling. If it's standard mark one we need to get within like 10 meters.
Mark 9 shot we should be okayish dead on. at 500 meters.

We can get through the sides pretty reliably.
>>
>>45824823
People are at range because we'd like to maneuver into a position where we can flank it.

>>
>>45824823
At the sides and rear, yes we can.

>>45824872
Stack and Wilnoa know about tanks and this is basic tactics.

>>45824884

>>
>>45824919
...do we even know what kind of terrain we can use? Do we know how the enemies operate? How fucked are we?
>>
>>45824919
The sand dunes are only a temp solution. The 90mm gun can still snipe us in range well above what we can dish out.
>>
>>45824930
Well I mean I'm just saying even with our lowest punching ammo we can reliably pen the side at 500m.

From the front though we'll need mk 9 or HV mk 1 and that's iffy if it's you know not looking at us directly.

>>45824953
Pershing is pretty mobile. This isn't the Superpershining that's got shit weighing it down with more armor.

Also the early centuars/Cromwells reverse gear is a joke. They can't back up for shit.
>>
>>45824966
We're on the firing range. This would mean there's almost no cover here. Hence why dunes are kind of a not good option but I'd prefer if it could be done.

Not using them as cover while we shoot back but making them come close by hiding behind it. If the Pershing stays away then I better make a Plan B.
>>
To note our centaur might not have a speed governor on it.. so we might be able to push the speed pretty high.. we'd just run the risk of ripping the tracks off. I can't remember if it had one, I know the cromwell 1 didn't.
>>
We do have a rate of fire advantage on that 90mm gun. Those shells are heavy.

A good crew could fire maybe once every 11-12 seconds.

The 57 should be able to go off every 5-6
>>
>>45825025
That is why Charging seems to be the best option or at least the lessar of two evils.

>>45825053
Why would they come closer when they can just use HE to blow the sand dune?

>>45825081
Stack bench presses with 75mm so the 57mm should be a piece of cake so we might have a better rate of fire then her.
>>
>>45825081
>>45825147

So charge laying down a lot of fire? If they're inexperienced volume of fire might scare/disorient them.
>>
>>45825147
Would the Poles actually think of using HE?
>>
>>45825147
doesn't that depend on our gunner to actually hit the target though.
>>
>>45825171
Depends on how clever they are.
O kurwa!
>>
>>45825171
If they do the HE of a 90mm gun could seriously fuck up a centaur.

I mean as an example if we had picked the PZ-3 this is almost like going up against a tiger.
>>
>>45825207
Sure but will they actually use the HE?
>>45825206
Or dumb. They might just grab the nearest shell and shove it in without checking to see what it is.

Paint.

> INTUITION: - 2 CP
> Close the distance

They’re Polish. And judging by how quickly they’re accelerating, they’re trying to close the distance too.

“Alright, Josephina, full speed left stick.”

“Okay!” she calls. You hold on for dear life as the Centaur I starts rolling underneath you. Oh boy, this is gonna get exciting! “Stack, AP round!” Stack nods, pulling a round out of the ammo rack then shoving it into the breech. “Alright, Winona, fire at will!”

“Okay…” The turret starts turning to face the Pershing as you come at it from an angle away from it. Before you realize it however, a shot flies over your head. “Ah, the gun’s shaking so much!” says Winona. Ah, these flats aren’t so flat at all!

Suddenly, you see a flash of fire from the barrel of that 90. “Brace!” you scream. It comes screaming over your head. You look back to see the shot fly right over the Tank HQ, then disintegrate into a puff of smoke. Ah, these must be the NATO Simrounds you all are using. You’re almost thrown out however by the Centaur taking a bad hop over a dune.

The target range dunes! Yeah, you’ll take cover behind these! “Stop, stop!” you yell. The Centaur tips downwards behind the dunes. “Winona, why didn’t you shoot?” you ask.

“The gun was shaking too much, I didn’t have a shot!” she says. You sigh. Figures. You climb up higher out of the hatch and poke your head up above the dunes. The Pershing is continuing forward, curving slightly to try and run towards you. It fires again. This time, it lands short. Puffs of sand fly up and douse you.

Ingrid looks back from the RO position. “You know, this is fine. I like not having any responsibility.”

“Quiet you,” says Stack.

Still, the Poles should have range advantage over you. They can’t really be trying to charge you, right? You poke your head up again.

The fact that they’re still closing the distance says otherwise. Oh boy.

“It’s time!” you yell. “Josephina, full speed! Take us out of here!” She starts powering you out from behind the sand dunes, and immediately into the sights of the Pershing. “Stop!” you scream.

The shot screams right across the front of the front of the turret, gashing the paint and sending sparks shooting up at you. You can hear the dreadful rumble inside the tank, and feel the horrible shaking from the near impact! You almost feel the wind get knocked out of you from that near miss. “Agh! My ears!” yells Winona as she holds her ears. She squints, her head rocking side to side. She’s been dazed by the impact.

> WINONA HAS BEEN STUNNED

“Damn it!” Stack pulls Winona out of the gunner’s seat and makes her take the loading spot.

“Keep going Josephina!” you scream.

“O- Okay!” she says frightfully. The Cromwell powers on even after that. Just now you’re only dozens of meters away from the Pershing, which begins to pivot in place and start trailing to you. “Stack, Stack, Stack! Fire, fire!”

The turret traverses right as you come up on the Pershing’s flank. Here you go. The first shot. The shot explodes out of the barrel of the Six Pounder. Smoke and dust fills the inside of the tank. Your own ears almost pop from the boom, good thing you have ear plugs.

And it snipes right into the Pershing’s turret ring, stopping it from rotating entirely. That doesn’t stop them from attempting to ram you. “Load me another, load me another!” says Stack. Uh, uh. You look down at Winona, who’s still dazed and confused from the near-miss.

“Keep going, Josephine, around their side!” you yell.

You slip down into the turret and look around in the dark. Internal lights really aren’t too bright and aren’t helping much! You grab one shell. Please be an armor piercing shell. Or maybe a HEAT round. Do tanks like these even fire HEAT? “Ellie!” Stack yells in your ear. Oh, right! You carefully shove the round into the breech, then ram it home. “Good job!”

Stack fires again, this time fully shaking your body and raising your adrenaline. You peer out of the hatch again to see the Pershing’s engine block smoking. The Poles all exit the hatches, smoke escaping out of their holes and their faces black with oil and muck.

> KO: M26 PERSHING
> KILL CREDITED TO: CENTAUR I

“Ha! We got them!” yells Stack. She slaps Winona on the head, then you on the thigh, then a very stiff Josephina and a very unalert Ingrid on the head. “Wooo! Get some!”

“Ha!” You hug yourself, biting your lip. Oh God, firing that gun felt so good! Your ears, your eyes, your heart. You sniff, shuddering in relief. So good…

The sun is setting by the time you all finish practice. Griselda got her turn in with the Poles, and again, the Poles were defeated. You all are covered in grime, grease, and oil, and probably smell the part too. The Poles all tiredly stand around, bruised but not defeated. You and your crew on the other hand look in high spirits. You didn’t think you’d work together so well but here you are!

> +10 MORALE TO ALL CREW MEMBERS.

“Good work everybody!” says Griselda. Gertrude and staff stand by the side, happily watching. “You all did well for your first outing. Go ahead and get yourself into the showers, have a bite to eat, and retire for the day. We’ll meet up again on Friday before the match with Kursk.”

You scrub away all the dirtiness from your body as you stand beneath the hot showers. Serafina walks by, happily shaking your hand. “Good match, look forward to Friday.” You smile happily at her and say the same as she rejoins her Poles on the other end of the Tankery hangar showers. The Showers it seems were expanded you’d guess. It was a full facility for almost a hundred or a hundred fifty girls, and including hot tubs and whirlpool baths too, where Winona and Ingrid were relaxing.

Stack walks by then slaps your bum. “Yow!” You jump up, then glare at her. She giggles a little, mischievously. “What was that for?”

“For a good first day on the job!” she says. “You make a pretty good commander!” You smile happily. “And I see you’re red all over. I think you got the Panzer high already.”

“Ah, well…” You shrug. “It felt good.”

She quirks her brow smugly. “How good?”

You smile. “It felt very good, I’d really love to experience it again, with you all even.”

“Wow.” Stack crosses her arms, smirking. “Well, I tell you what. If you want to practice tomorrow, I’m around.” You nod. That’s a fair point, you should be practicing all you can. You smile happily as she turns around. And for that, you smack her on the bum as well. “Ah!” She looks back, giving you a coy look as you play the innocent bystander, complete with innocent whistle.

But once you feel you’ve done what you can, you walk on over to Winona and Ingrid in the tub. “Winona.” She looks up, a towel over her eyes. “We going to try the pizza place tonight?”

“I’d love to!” she says groggily. “Sorry about getting dazed like that. That wasn’t something I’m used to.”

Ingrid sits on the edge of the bath, towel over her body and legs idly hanging in the water. “Are you inviting all of us?” You nod. “Oh, okay.”

“Sad that you’re not going to get to watch your baseballs, Ingrid?” asks Winona.

“It’s hard to follow baseball outside of its timezones,” she says. “We’re in the middle of the Atlantic.” Fair point.

“What is your favorite team though?” Winona asks, pulling the towel off of her eyes.

Ingrid curls her lip, counting it off. “Well, I was born in Cooperstown, so technically I root for all New York teams, even the Yankees. But as a whole, I’m a fan of the Indians. But I do own a cap for all thirty teams. And their minor league affiliates. And some Independent teams too.”

“Is your Dad like a baseball player or something?” you ask. Now you’re just curious.

She blinks. “Well… I wouldn’t say that. He works in baseball.”

“Is he a coach?” asks Stack from across the showers.

Josephina walks over as well. “Maybe he is a trainer.” Ingrid shakes her head.

“He’s uh…” Ingrid twiddles her fingers, blushing a little bit. “He’s…” She mutters out an answer that none of you can hear.

“Is it something embarrassing?” you ask.

Ingrid sighs. “He’s that guy that goes up and down the rows in the baseball park selling peanuts and crackerjack.” Ooooohhhh. You all nod slowly.

“That’s okay,” you say. “My Mom does something similar, she works a food cart in the city.”

“Actually.” Ingrid clears her throat. “My Mom works in baseball too, front office stuff. She’s a sabermetrics advisor for the New York Mets.” … oh. “Yeah, my Dad works at CitiField selling food and stuff like that and my Mom works in heavy math and analytics in scouting players and what not. She makes six figures.”

“Wait, why would your dad work a ballpark selling peanuts and crackerjack when your mom is making six figures?” asks Winona. “That doesn’t make sense.”

“Well, my Dad tells me it’s because he really loves going to the baseball games,” says Ingrid. “So… yeah. But, I got a few good memories, he’s been there since I was kid. I got to see the Mets play a lot. Matt Harvey is one of my favorite pitchers too and I really love the starting rotation for 2015,” she says hopefully. “But yeah, every time I go to the park, my Dad finds some way to embarrass me.”

You smirk. “That’s what parents do. You should see mine.” Ingrid looks up at you, smiling more comfortably. “Let’s hurry up and get clean. We got some pizza to eat tonight.”

“We going to eat there or we going to eat somewhere else?” asks Winona.

Winona and Stack are already duking it out on the Tank Wars machines, two player action as they try to get as many kills on each as they can. The graphics are certainly outdated from games that you see in recent media, but it seems like the two are having fun. “Ha! Got ya!” yells Winona as she snipes Stack.

“That Anti-tank rocket is complete horseshit!” Stack shouts back. You, Ingrid, and Josephina stand around the sides, gobbling up pizza and sipping your drinks.

You especially are already on your tenth slice. Pepperoni, beef, anchovy, mmm. You missed pizza. You look at your plate. Oooh, almost completely gone. You hurry to walk over to your table, where two more sets of pizza are already laid out for the lot of you. “Elodie.” You turn around, and find Josephina absolutely towering over you, brushing some of her hair out of her eyes.

“Oh, hey there,” you say. “Having fun, Josephina?”

She nods, smiling a little. “S-… sorry if I seem a little er…” She shrugs. “I don’t know the word. Is it shy?”

“You do seem a bit shy,” you say. “It’s okay, we’re all girls. And you’re part of the crew now.”

“Oui, oui, I am aware,” she says. “But, thank you for letting me be part of this crew. I will try to do my best.” She smiles happily, hopefully. “This is the first time in a very long while that I have had friends so er-“ She stops herself, blushing a little. “I mean, not that I am not inexperienced or anything I just- um. You smile, motioning for her to continue. She coughs, clearing her throat a little. “I er… Um. Thank you. For letting me be your friend.”

You nod to her. “Quite alright. Thanks for making the attempt, Josephina. I will admit, I didn’t have many friends growing up, so you guys are some of the first.” She nods slowly, rubbing her hands along her sides in anticipation. “Just be social. Don’t be afraid, I’m sure there’s nothing really weird about you.” Except being extremely tall and the love for Helicraft.

“Oh, there is plenty I am sure,” she says. “Merci.”

You nod. “De rien.” She smiles happily, then picks up a few slices of pizza and returns to the group.

You sigh. You are building up quite the crew.

Hopefully the next few days will build on it.

You and Winona step back into your room. “Cuddles, I’m back!” says Winona. She gravitates towards his terrarium. “Aw, you already ate your food!” Before you and Winona left, she left out a dead mouse for Cuddles to eat, and judging by the lack of dead mouse and one very fat Cuddles, he definitely ate today. Winona reaches in and gently pats Cuddles on the nose, and he responds by flicking his tongue at her hand. “Heehee!”

You sigh, unclipping your bra and pulling off your pantyhose. “We doing anything tomorrow, Winona?”

She scratches her chin, thinking. “I dunno. What did you want to do?”

“Well, we could visit Griselda, explore around LGA some maybe.” You sit down on your bed, and strip off your clothes.

“Exploring sounds nice, there’s so much we haven’t seen yet.” She climbs up onto her bed, her legs flopping a bit and nearly kicking you in the face before she climbs up. She pokes her head back down. “I really want to visit the pool. You think we can do that some day?”

“Sure,” you say. Admittedly, you don’t have a bathing suit. You do have the school swimsuit, but you’re not sure how… flattering it might be to your figure.

“Well, it’s late. We better hit the lights.” You nod, shutting off the lights. “Night, Ellie!”

“Night, Winona.” You curl yourself up beneath your sheets.

And immediately, you start dreaming about the feeling of that gun firing again. Yes…

>giant, literally multi-mile boat that saw action in WW2 and may even have dudes dying in it

I swear there are ghosts around.
Maybe an entire civilization that lives in the bowels of the ship, and secretly maintain it, that don't remember the Sun and whose only contact with the outside is the occasional lost soul that ventures too far (or too deep) and the envoys sent from time to time by the Engineering students or whoever is "officially" in charge of the ship.

Well there are parts of the ship that have gone unexplored due to clerical errors, but most of it is actually well-explored.

There are rumors of molepeople though that steal panties and socks in the night.

Thanks for the fun, boss.

Thanks for running, Schteel. Fell asleep drunk.

Dude, its a schoolship, not a space hulk.

Ok, panty ghosts do make sense. Trude's teams probably started that rumor.
