Hiro gives the two of you a smug-ass smile. “Should I leave you two alone?” Yori, red-faced, shakes her head furiously.


“Please, Hiro.” You laugh wholeheartedly.

When you get back home, your mom is cooking dinner. You can smell the aroma of spiced potatoes coming from the kitchen. It feels like you haven't seen your mom in forever. You give her a weary smile. “Hey Mom. I'm home.”

“Welcome home, Satoshi.” Your mom says, preparing a few vegetables for some stew. She glances briefly at you before saying, “Long day?”

You chuckle. “Believe me, you have no idea.”

Taking out your notebook, you prepare to actually pay attention. You flip open to a page – it's covered in various shape doodles. You quickly flip until you reach a blank page.

Twenty minutes into the class, you give up and take a nap. Ah well. You tried. You wake when the bell rings, signaling break. Feeling much more rested, you go ahead and walk to the cafeteria. Patricia blocks your way.

“Hey, Satoshi!” She eagerly calls you. “I've decided. I like you! It doesn't matter to me what the minor details are. I know I like you.”

“That's great.” You cough. “But, you know that the whole class could hear you, right?”

Well if we're doing life stories about missed connections.

When I was in pre-school I was best friends with an asian girl in my class. We did everything together. But eventually her family moved away at the end of the year and I suddenly I never saw her again. I'd say I loved her, but I was 5 years old at the time. Looking back, that event heavily influenced me because it taught me that all friendships are temporary at best. Decided to never let a friend close enough that their absence would hurt me again. Spend the rest of my life keeping people at arms length and cutting off people who try to get to close.

I... I don't know how to feel about this quest anymore.

On the one hand, it would be nice for it to end. There's some degree of closure in the quest ending now. However, I like the quest a lot.

I want more hijinks. I want more filler. I want MECHA, mecha that are powered by love and teenage social embarrassment. I like this too much... I like this quest too much.

But, sometimes, when you love something you... you have to let it go.

Whatever happens after " THE END" is now up to the reader. I like to think they went on to have gun-dam battles in college.

Sucks that its over, it was a good time. Nano's a solid writer, and he definitely improved, this was way better/more popular than Deity Quest.
