Welcome to A Song of Revenge and Gold: House Malroy Quest. In which you take the reins of a House of storied glorious past since Aegon’s Conquering, but whose fortunes have taken a turn for the worse in the doom that Robert’s Rebellion brought. You are Brynden Malroy, second son to Lord Vamos Malroy and Lady Esemella Hayford and the last living heir to Steadhold and House Malroy. The year is 285AC, two years after the Rebellion and a year after your return to Westeros.

House Malroy is a pre-genned House designed around the idea of a story within the Crownlands of a House fiercely loyal to the Targaryens and their attempts to live in this new world after Robert’s Rebellion. Lord Brynden Malroy is as well pre-genned but will take direction from the players in his ways and how he develops himself further. This Quest will be moderately more story driven than others of its kind, but the development of the House and her lands will take just as much importance.

If you’ve played one of the many Quests within the ASoIaF setting the rules of the SIFRP system should be known. I will be using the Game of Thrones edition, as well as a few of the expansions namely OOSP and a few house rules which will be explained as we come to them. If you have questions about how things work or why certain actions are taken I can explain them as we go along. In truth this is a learning experience for me as well.

And now without further ado.
>>
“Lord Brynden?”

“Yes Arron?”

“My father wished to see,” your young squire responds, quickly closing the stretch of Steadhold’s rooftop to your side.

You turn from your idle gazing about your your hold, the entirety of the Outer Ring had been celebrating your betrotheds arrival and your subsequent wedding. It amused you to remember what they were going through, your time in Essos wasn’t all spent at high seats. Occassionaly the Second Sons were contracted to ‘security detail’, often times you would find yourself among the smallfolk. Celebrating for no other reason other than the occasion of marriage, where their Merchant Princes or Magisters were being particularly open handed. Bounties of food and drink were common, small events that were common amongst the smallfolk such as catching a greased pig, sometimes gambling and unofficial betting on gladiator matches the next day. It was a joyous time for all, and your small population hadn’t missed the opportunity to celebrate. Many of your men were down there as well, keeping the peace their main focus, but no doubt enjoying the night’s festivities.

“They had told me your Steadhold was in a state my Lord,” Lord Quentyn Qorgyle says, taking his time to cross the rooftop to where you kept your targets and archery equipment.

“And, Lord Qorgyle?”

“They exaggerate,” he says with a smile stopping next to you before adjusting his cloak, “Other than the cold. No idea how you northerners do it. Westerlander propaganda no doubt, diminish your House further. Give suitors a second thought. Not that my sister would fall for such, obviously.”

“Had you seen her when I arrived home,” you say with a somber tone, watching Arron and his brother Gulian poking about your range, a quick flick of your wrist gives your squire leave to ‘show off’ before you continue, “The Rebellion was not kind to my family. All the same, wonders a year make. How fare things with your sister?”
>>
Quentyn shifts uncomfortably, “They… Fare. The trip here was long, and well… Things were awkward for a moment. But we are talking at least. Better than I can say for the past three years. It’s funny Brynden, my sister is willful, headstrong, I’m half a fool for not seeing it earlier. She’s always seen more in life, but never never in my life have I seen her this… Happy.”

You watch Arron sink his arrows closer to the center of the target, his brother afterwards doing half as well and smirk a mite before regarding their father again, “Happy?”

Quentyn laughs, waving his hand around attempting to find the words, “The child. I never thought her one to settle down, I thought her lost to me entirely for years even. Seven, I half expected her to die unmarried. And then she tells me she is with child, your child, and she couldn’t be happier, relieved even. I… Sorry, Brynden this is all very new to me. In short, I am glad for you, in may take me years to atone for the things I have done. But this is a start, and so long as my sister is happy, I can take joy in that.”

Lord Qorgyle’s face looked filled with turmoil, you could still tell the gap between the Qorgyle siblings had yet to fully heal. Quentyn was trying at the very least, hopefully in the days that followed you could help to mend these things further. It struck you in a particular way, in a way it reminded you of yourself and Isis. She was all but lost to you for years, except she never blamed you, always saw the best, in that you were lucky. You couldn’t imagine being in Quentyn’s boots. You place a hand upon Quentyn’s shoulder before speaking, “Thank you Quentyn. These things do take time, Obella may yet come around, and know you may visit as you see fit.”
>>
The dornishman laughs, “Obella would go half mad with my visiting. Best if you came to Sandstone, if you thought Sunspear was hot... When your issues here are resolved, of course. Speaking of, a few promises I need keep with you Brynden. Firstly, and most importantly, the dowry. I thought it best to avoid speaking to Obella regarding it and to do it in private, 4000 gold dragons were left with your stewardess, how you managed to find a woman of such beauty and skill is beyond my understanding. Secondly, your plight does not go unnoticed, 100 cavalrymen. Dornes finest. My younger brother, Quillon, has offered his services in leading this men for the duration of their stay. If you will take him. Lastly, a promise to another I must keep, Prince Oberyn sends his regards. He is quite taken with the courser you left as a gift, and asked I deliver this to you.”

Quentyn removes a small silk bag from his pocket, and places it in your hand. Removing the contents you find a silver ring, one that matched the one you wore on your right ring finger, a solid band with little decoration outside of an imprint of a shattered sword. The sigil of the Second Sons. A small token of your time with the mercenary band, but a sign of the utmost respect as a gift.

“My Prince tells me you once fought alongside another in Essos. A great honor I can imagine. He does expect the ring back some day, in exchange for a favor. Of what, that is up to you Brynden.”

Fine gifts all, your eyes remained upon the ring for a while longer. A favor from a Prince of Dorne in your back pocket certainly never hurt. No doubt the next week would involve far more gifts but of a more general nature, this was personal, a sign of your family’s place in the world. You were not the broken House you came home to, no, you were something, someone to be respected. All it took was a small battered ring of silver.
>>
The gifts? Are they acceptable?
>Yes, express your most gracious thanks
>No, see if you can get a bit more

In short, you received 4000 gold dragons (20 Wealth) as a dowry. 60 Trained Light Cavalry, 20 Trained Heavy Cavalry, & 20 Veteran Heavy Cavalry, with Ser Quillon Qorgyle as the group’s Commander. And lastly the Second Son’s ring, good for one favor from Prince Oberyn Martell.

Quentyn Qorgyle?
>Anything to ask, request, etc.

General open topic, if nothing we’ll move on. I think I remember some people wanting to ask if he’d like to help with the Princewood.

That is a bit much Brother. Rib him a bit and say maybe in a few months or years we will visit his home. Offer to go hunting for bandits in the princewood. Let him see his son for a while without us there.

But my god a favour from The Red Viper!?!? Holy fuck I am surprised I am not getting arrested for disturbing the peace with my fanboy squeal of delight.

"You humble with your generosity, Lord Quentyn."
Ask him how the trip was, if he's interested in doing some game hunting, and bring up how we'd like to invite him to a counsel meeting to broach him on serious matters.

Pretty good. Shame the whole silver hair thing makes everyone look older than they are. Either way.

That is fucking excellent. I feel obligated to include it now. Send your friend my thanks.

Let's repair the bridge and then outfit our men. Curtain wall is being repaired
>>
>>46224985
Lets focus on repairing more of our fortifications and getting more arms. We can worry about the smallfolk when we aren't about to go to war. Also, a bit leery of your suggestions after that cock up last time.
>>
>>46225074

The bridge is a pretty good investment it will pay itself in a few short months.
>>
>>46225127
Hey I didn't know we were at the cap for house fortune. No one said anything about it until after Father said we were. In any case five wealth isn't much. We snap our fingers at the end of the month and get at least five wealth.
>>
“You humble with your generosity Lord Qorgyle. Thank you, sincerely.”

“I do as is expected of the Lord as my House, Lord Malroy. Obella may see things differently, but I am still her older brother. The dowry is for her comfort. The men, well, I suspect they will see use, when your blood feud is finished they will return home. Barring the veteran men.”

Speaking of your blood feud, something clicks in the back of your mind, reminding you of a previous thought, “Quentyn, of my blood feud… Within the next month I will begin a full scale invasion of the lands across the bridge,” you point for him to see, “A forest known as the Princewood, once my family’s land, now a haven for bandits. A nomansland as declared by the Crown. I plan to retake it. Burn out the bandits. And reinstate order.”

“A noble undertaking Brynden. And a good thing I would say from my limited knowledge of the subject.”

“Certainly Quentyn. However, with you here, I had a thought. Perhaps after the wedding is said and done, you would like to go... ‘big game hunting’ shall we call it? An activity between newly made brothers?”

Quentyn crosses his arms and screws his face up a bit, “And what sort of ‘game’ do you expect to encounter my Lord?”

You have him intrigued, his competitive streak starting to edge into his thoughts, you shrug a bit, allowing a small to dance upon your lips, “The kind that fights back, assuming you can find it.”

“Hah! Certainly not so difficult a task, even in your northern forests, my horse and men would run them down before your own had a chance-” Quentyn stops and bobs his head from side to side, “Spoils?”

“Loads I’d imagine.”

The dornishman strokes his goatee, “Glory?”

“In as far as you can find it. I do suspect there is more to our quarries than is common knowledge.”

“Oh? Hm… You have me… Curious, Brynden. I must say.”

Success, two degrees.

“Think of it as a chance to protect yours, Quentyn. Obella will be given birth in the next few months. Dangerous for a newborn to be along the edge of such dangerous things.”

Quentyn laughs, “I’ve little doubt any child of yours will ever truly be safe from such Brynden. Days ride from King’s Landing? Seven, I would worry for the lion that sleeps so poorly. But… Obella, do you think she would appreciate it?”

“It certainly wouldn’t hurt things Quentyn,” you respond waving for him to follow as you walk over towards his sons. Arron had shut his brother out, his form had improved immensely since you began to squire him. Gulian was a good shot in his own right, but it is hard to compete with the student of a master archer such as yourself. You smile at Quentyn, who takes your ulterior meaning with a frown.

“Well other than my being here for longer than expected. Actually… I had planned to travel south from here when the wedding was done. Prince Oberyn intends to ride at the Tourney in Highgarden a few months hence. Let us say this, we go on your ‘hunt’. Allow me to command my own men, and my brother’s. Finish this small thing in a timely manner, placing your Princewood firmly in your control, and then travel together to Highgarden for the Tourney. I am certain that my Prince would not mind the extra company. And I suspect you had intended upon attending as it was, yes?”
>>
>>46225621
Yeah holy shit the luck in that quest. It's unreal how fucked we get.
>>
Benjin had put the thought in your head nearly a year ago, suggesting it as a place to potentially meet a match. Funny how these things worked out now. There was a few uncertainties with the trip now however. For one you were right on the cusp of catching the Red Bastard, the Princewood was only the first step. You estimated Obella would give birth within the next couple of months as well, another trip so close would be dangerous. All the same, it was certainly a thought. The Reach, namely the Tyrells, had once been a major buyer of your family’s Horses, it would not hurt to go. Have a good showing, and once again begin such lucrative deals, particularly as your machine required so much coin at the moment.

>>
“An idea to be certain. And one I would be inclined to agree with Lord Qorgyle,” you respond after a moment of thought, “My House could certainly do for the coin it would bring in.”

“I hear there is an archery contest as well,” Quentyn adds after a moment, “Not so grand a thing as the one in King’s Landing, no doubt. But perhaps I can have my revenge and knock you out of the running. You are a lucky shot. Nothing more.”

“You seem uncertain Quentyn. Perhaps my squire may prove otherwise,” you say indiciating Arron lining up an arrow.

Arron takes a deep breath, focusing his shot, before unleashing a hell of a shot that lands square in the middle of the target. He turns to yourself his his father, pointing, clearly joyed, it was a first afterall. He had been practicing very hard to make those shots as easily as you did. Victus was a better hand at it, though he was your son, but the lad was catching on quickly. Quentyn kneels down next to his son embracing him.

“I worried for him for the first few months you know,” he says, “He is such a solemn and shy child. Very rarely did he even attempt to beat his brother in anything. You’ve done well by him Brynden. I see I made the right choice.”

“You flatter Quentyn. The boy is a natural, just took a bit to get him out of his shell. My son has been more help in that than myself in truth,” you respond with a laugh.
>>
Speaking of your son, at the Goldgate you can see the outriders of Dontos’ return party arriving, a man carrying your own standard. The other carrying the standard of House Chelsted. The evening had just begun to creep in and you had worried for your Uncle for a moment, but were gladdened to see him returning. Your grand hall was about to play host to the greatest gathering of Lords and Ladies it had seen since the Targaryen Kings, and you were expected to handle most of the arrangements. A frightening thought. You beg leave of Lord Quentyn, who is happy to grant it, deciding to stay a few moments longer with his sons in peace allowing you to rush down to the grand hall.

---

There was a point in your life when deciding where to seat everyone at a table was perhaps the easiest part of your day. In Essos it was a ‘first come, first serve’ situation, your twenty men of various homelands all plopped down wherever you damn well pleased, in whatever seedy tavern or backwater winesink you could find that night. When you returned to Westeros it was a relatively simple affair, you sat in the middle, and there wasn’t anyone else to really seat. Benjin and Dontos would usually handle anything else. Today however, today was an affair. Your Maester was gone to the Citadel for the better part of a year, Dontos had just arrived home Lady Alexes Chelsted in tow, so it was up to you to sit a rather weighty list of guests. Half them hardly expected.
>>
Of course you sat in the middle still, your father’s seat was still your own, to your right, Lady Obella Qorgyle. And that is where the easy part ended. Lady Lysa Tully and Lady Mellario of Norvos both had equal claims, in your mind at least, to seats of importance. Lady Mellario is sat next to your betrothed, her daughter Arianne sat prettily next, you had somehow missed the heir to Sunspear when they arrived. The eight year old girl was everything you’d expect a princess to be, but you could see the Dornish in her behind her eyes, the way she watched, sharp eyes. She’d be something someday, better to be on her family’s good side. Deciding it was for the best to place Lysa Tully in an equally important place you take the hit and sit her next to you, Isis next after. That was the best you could do, anyone else was a wash as far as you were concerned. Dontos was quick to pick up on your distress having to seat five people and set the pages to task seating the rest of your guests in a typical fashion. In truth you hadn’t seen your great hall this full since you were a boy. Certainly not with so many Lords of the Realm at least. Introductions with many had been brief, and you remembered half as many names as you were told, at best placing faces to colors. Without Benjin you actually felt a little lost, he was the one that typically kept track of these things. Dontos was quick to remind you of the Reach Lord’s names and places, most of them having been friends of his during the Rebellion. A fact that still astonished you. And Obella was as helpful as she could be regarding the Dornish.

She had been a godsend in the otherwise overwhelming ordeal, taking her place by your side with grace and patience. You could only imagine what was going through her mind, but the way she had interacted with you since arriving had helped soothe your own stresses.
>>
The simple touches, interlocking her finger with you own beneath the table to pull it to her stomach. The way she wrapped her arm around your own during the brief tour of your home. Even the way she stopped to look at you, her eyes playfully darting about, her expressions showing more than words could tell. It was a good feeling, something that felt right, something you hadn’t felt in years, that feeling you always had tried to replace with drunken nights and various women. You could almost laugh.

As it had been the night was already long, much and many of your guests had wished you and yours their best wishes. An activity that left you with little time for anything else. Many requested to speak to you at one point or another, namely Lord Eustace Brune, the de facto leader of the Crackclaw Point Alliance, your fat Pentoshi banker, Noraro Aros, and your cousin and now heir to be of Hayford, Ser Wesley Hayford. Things you would have time for during the Tourney no doubt, but for now you’d rather the ability to speak to whom you pleased. Usually you employed alcohol to dull the sounds and sights of a long evening, though hardly touched it tonight. Didn’t feel right, as Obella sat next to you avoiding it like the bloody flux, you had been told before women with child should avoid wine, but hadn’t particularly thought anything of it until your betrothed insisted she was fine with water for the night.

The fifth course of the night is brought out, a bounty from the Bay of Crabs, as fresh as fresh could be, Lord Crabb having delivered it upon his arrival. Obella again touches the fish, something about it being dangerous for those with child, again. Benjin would, yet again, know better than you but you take her word for it all the same. And after perhaps the sixteenth toast of the night, you are allowed a moment to speak with your guests.

I mean he was recruiting forces, I'm sure it wasnt just to prance them around. If he was recruiting them I guess it's because he has a plan to make it a legitimate claim or whatever. And it's not like we're in cahoots with the throne like redfuck is.

Both us and redward know this is going to end in war EVENTUALLY. That he's sharpening his sword doesn't mean he's able to start something whenever he wants, it means he wants his sword sharp when things DO start.
>>
>>46226564
Robert holds the ultimate judgement, but as queen cersei doesn't hold any actual power just significant influence, whereas being the hand means Robert has given arryn significant leave to make judgement in his name. Honestly Jon Arryn is even more "the crown" than cersei is.
>>
>>46226213
>Lady Mellario of Norvos & Arianne Martell
>Lady Lysa Tully & Isis
We should broach Lysa about allowing Isis in her care for the remainder of her pregnancy and a bit after. You know, because Redward's lands are known for being infested with bandits and until he gets that under control it is no place for a lady so late in her pregnancy. Play up how hospitable she's been so far, that we believe she would be taken well care of in her lands.
>>
>>46226577
I've always had the impression that redfuck was pulling moves in a fast enough pace that he had some degree of leverage or whatever to press claims.

>>46226614
I mean she's a Lannister and in the throne. I think the Lannister part is the scary one rather than the throne one. I bet Robert wouldnt want to piss off the lions and if he has to choose between them or us it's gonna come down to them. Also considering we were loyalists of the old king (our house was at least) I dont think we stand in a position where redfuck wouldnt at least get a go for a claim.
>>
Alright and back. Sorry about that.

Anyway, looks like we're talking to Obella and Mellario/Arianne.

>>46226379
Good lord no. Royce would have attacked already if that was the case.

>>46226411
Technically speaking, no he can't. The saboteur/spy falls under the same distinction as don't bring up a potential spy ring to the Crown just yet thing. It is entirely grounds for war, but only on a limited basis. The Crown would take action and you'd lose out. It's all a part of building your bigger case and throwing the proverbial book at Royce all at once.

Anyway, writing now.

No paranoid is the way to be. Especially when an enemy is as stupid as Redfuck.
>>
>>46226671
Yeah except the lannister opinion that actually matters is tywin and making cersei mad once is not enough to get on his shitlist since otherwise the entire realm would be on Tywin's shitlist.
Cersei vs Jon Arryn is much much MUCH more balanced.
>>
>>46226715
He can still TRY to manufacture a casus belli, but probably Jon Arryn is going to keep Robert honest enough about that that Royce would need to do a much better job of doing so than he's probably capable of.

Tywin can see us as a potential threat though, he probably knows that we're not really pleased with the crown (since they have dicked us big time a bunch of times) and if I remember correctly he didnt particularly liked Arryn since he wanted to be hand of the king right? (not in quest, I'm talking canon).
>>
>>46226883
Wait but how do you manufacture a casus belli? I thought people used to lie about how their great grandfather owned these lands and whatnot but everything redfuck earned from those lands has been given by the king, not ancestral claim. Is there a way to fabricate other casus belli?
>>
>>46226894
We are not anywhere on a scale where we're a potential threat to tywin. At our most significant we might manage nuisance.
>>
>>46226917
False flag our knights doing shit on his land. The thing is he does have a claim through our sister but our claim is 100% more valid, but that means if he manufactures some other war and we "happen" to die during the war he gets what he wants all the same.
>>
>>46226919
Not really but if redfuck would eliminate us from the map fucking Arryn (even if slightly) in the process would you put it past Tywin to say "okay"? Or even trick redfuck that he would get lannister support and even if he wins just say "lol I dont know this guy"?
>>
>>46226917
Trying to provock us into war or make it look like he is acting in self defense.
>>46226919
Heck he might even find us preferable since we arent the ones robbing his merchants.
>>
>>46226947
But wouldnt the crown make an intervention if we broke king's peace in that scenario? I mean if he pulls that off we're dead.
>>
>>46226949
>>46226955 has a good point. Redward is basically like a mountain that's not actually under his control
>>
>>46226990
It depends on how believable he made it. If it's clearly bullshit arryn would probably expend the MINOR political capital to go "come on Bobby this is clearly bullshit."
>>
>>46227008
I really dont know, I know that daddy is looking for a dicking and I'm trying to figure out scenarios where he would leisurely thrust it.

I mean, the mountain is like a mountain that's not actually under his control.

Tywin isn't above using unpredictable elements in wartime, but we're not at war.

Yet.

“Is your friend going to stand up and begin to make drunken speeches again my Lord?”

You laugh a bit, playing with Obella’s hand. “Doubtful, Lucas is too busy with his own wife now. She’s made a concentrated effort to calm him down since then.”

“A shame. I rather enjoyed him,” Obella says playful, poking at her food a bit, “Is your castle always so cold?”

“Southerners. Your brother said the same thing.”

“He’s been complaining of the cold since we left Sunspear. Once he found out about…” Obella runs her hand over her stomach again with a smile, “Well, he wouldn’t leave me alone about it.”

“He cares.”

“Too much. We didn’t talk for three years. He cannot so easily be a part of my life again.”

You frown but attempt to move off from the topic, “Have you thought of names yet?”

“I did not know it was my job too Lord Malroy,” she says with a playful smile, “I’ll be sure to tell you when I have. But only if you think of some yourself.”

“Deal.”

The fifth course is taken away to be replaced by another of a suckling pig, at this point you’d rather be getting thoroughly drunk rather than eating, you never understood how someone could go through course after course. Lord Argor Conklyn was digging in, while his daughter and Lucas sat by him more flirting than eating, they were trying for a child Lucas had told you, and Racheal had been far more flirtatious with him as a direct result. After his winning of your Melee in her honor, well they were certainly having a good beginning to their wedded life.

Obella again picks at her food, though actually eats this time rather than ignores it, “It is funny to think the first time we met… I was your entertainment for the evening.”

“I rather remember ending up being my own entertainment that night.”

“It is certainly not my fault you turned me down my Lord,” she says, “Though you were eager to find me the following day.”
>>
You purse your lips and she laughs, playfully batting at your arm before letting you speak again, “Again, I remember you starting that. Not me.”

“All the same you did not stop it. Or any of the times hence…”

“How can I deny when you decide to repeatedly show up in my room. Or invite me to seedy winesinks where I take a thorough stabbing afterwards. Reminds me of Essos.”

“My husband the sellsword. Always so brave. How will you tame him they ask. As if I already haven’t,” Obella says playing with your beard, “I still hate this thing.”

“A shame that it will be staying then. Untamed as I am,” you respond and she rolls her eyes.

You play the little game of banter back and forth for a while. Enjoying each other’s company, it certainly was different from your other meetings, while you could feel the sexual undertones of her voice, her movements, you knew she was being restrained. The Crownlands were different than her homeland, hell different than all the places she had traveled since, being the entertainment was a different calling than being the Lady. She dealt with it gracefully, but you could feel it in her voice, that she desired to be herself still, not just the Lady.

“Brynden? May I ask something?”

“You hardly seem inclined to ask otherwise Obella,” you say again to rolled eyes.
>>
“It is about Nera. Nera Dayne. I had sent her ahead to prepare for my arrival. But… This is not her work. It looks half done. And I have yet to see her since my arrival. She is always so punctual and constantly by my side. Where is she?”

You nearly choke on your water at the question. You still hadn’t gotten a name out of the imposter. Hell she barely even spoke, ate or drank. Yondril had to force water on her just to keep her alive. The cards lined up, Horace Hogg’s information and Varys’ and Elionwy’s efforts bore fruit. You just needed to keep her alive. You bite your lower lip, Obella tilting her hed to the side at your lack of reaction.

>>
>>46227930

Oh boy this is going to suck. We are about to tell her her friend got kill and throw into the river under our rooftop and we didn't notice until the imposter was trying to kill someone. There had to be a better way to do this.

What, while she's drunk or after sex? After the marriage ceremony? How pleased do you think she'd be that we put off telling her? Not very likely, in my mind.
>>
>>46228475

What I mean is that we should have tell her sooner by messager or letter.
>>
>>46228427
Why would it ruin the party? What makes you think we'd tell anyone but Obella?
>>
>>46228520
While I agree somewhat, didn't we find out while their entourage was on the way here?
>>
“It’s best we speak of it somewhere more private,” you say into her ear after a moment of thought. The courses are being changed out again, bloody ten course meal, at least your guests would enjoy themselves. You rise from your seat, offering a hand to Obella who takes it with a perplexed and concerned look upon her face. Leading her away from the grand hall you catch Dontos’ eye, a slightly distressed one until you point down and lip the word, ‘spy’ and he understands your purpose.

The wing of your castle you enter is one that didn’t see as much use as it once did, your mother once kept her small court over on this side, one of the hallways opening up into a garden that was entirely in disrepair now. Your walk is a slow one, to accommodate for Obella’s pregnant belly, and occasionally you stop so she could sit, wrapping herself up tighter in her shaw every time. A final stop finds you at the walled in garden, old vines still litter the place, new weeds and plants attempt to choke each other out of life. Your mother’s roses were still in one piece at least, the small bed of them growing fiercely into the surrounding beds, their thorns a hazard to anyone attempt to get through the brush.

Obella sits, waiting on you expectantly, playing with her fingernail, “Where is she Brynden?”

Standing before her you cross your arms, “Obella there is a lot happening here in Steadhold. To me, to my family, to those I call my own. I have enemies, they feel ever mounting at times… And they take drastic actions to strike at me directly.”

“Is she dead? Is Nera dead, Brynden?” She asks, fearing the worst.

“Yes, Obella. She was murdered not too long after arriving, her body was thrown into the river, likely lost. Her imposter was a spy from House Redward. The bloody bastard that my sister was forced to marry. She attempted to kill Ser Mason before being caught, and now she resides in my dungeon.”
>>
Obella folds her hands over her stomach, “Seven above, she was better than that. How… How could she have died?”

“The imposter uses poison… She has been rather active in my House…” you go on to explain the grand scheme of things for the past seven months since you departed from Dorne. From the Melee, to your cousin losing his mind, Horace Hogg putting the pieces together, Varys’ stilling your hand and confirming a slave ring was in the works, everything up until you caught the imposter. Obella sits quietly, hardly asking you a question, she nods along to things you assume she knew, she was a spy after all, and makes faces in response to new things, such as the slave ring and your willingness to work with Varys. By the time you’re done you find yourself sitting next to her, your hand over her stomach.

“I swear you are safe though, and the child, they are as well. These things are building yes, but I am so close. The Princewood is the next step, if I find evidence there that links Royce to the slave rings-”

“Then you can go to war. Without the Crown interfering, yes, I understand Brynden. Nera was close, she was like my sister and I grieve for her, immensely. But I do do not blame you for her death, if not her, one of your own. I... Whatever you must do Brynden, so long as you return to me. When I chose you, I chose everything that came with it. You lead a dangerous life, you nearly died after seeing me. I refuse to back out of this now.”

You sigh, things could have gone worse, far worse in fact, you could tell Obella was heartbroken regardless, but she was on your side. As dangerous as it truly was. You could feel a pit in your stomach though, Obella may be fine, but the child. That ran so much more danger.
>>
“The girl though, the imposter?” Obella begins again, “No one must know, tell them she died when your guards caught her. Her brother Ser Gerold Dayne, if he knew, he would try to kill her. Your case against Lord Redward be damned. Dorne will mourn the death of a daughter, but it will call them to your side more, you need allies Brynden. Even if they are far flung.”

You look at her in confusion, “You want me to use this?”

“If nothing else, yes. I will not allow Nera’s death to be in vain. Nor let you lose your most important piece Brynden. I will tell those that need know, we will keep it quiet so the Crown leaves us be. But even in silence the Dornish will rally to your side, they will always mourn the death of a daughter by a King's lapdog. Please, trust me. It is what she would have wanted.”

Marital Bliss +1 Nah not really.

“You know the Dornish best Obella,” you respond, hardly allowing your normal moment, “I trust you in this. Even as dangerous as it is.”

Obella places her hand on your face, allowing it to stroke your beard with half a smile the other half with pain, “The danger is half the reason I chose to marry you Lord Silvershaft,” she leans over and kisses you, wrinkling her nose as your moustache rubs against her upper lip, “You’re really going to keep that nasty thing?”

“Yes, I am,” you say with a laugh before standing again and offering her your arm, “Now come Lady Scorpion, we have a feast to still attend.”

Obella rolls her eyes at you, the pale moonlight reflecting in her pools of blue enough to make it look like a still pond. She takes your arm, and nuzzles in close allowing you to set the pace back towards the grand hall.

---

Taking your seat again you are told you have missed the seventh course, some sort of pigeon pie with the birds still in tact. In truth you were glad to have missed it, you never particularly liked that trick, and the birds always made a bloody mess afterwards. Your poor servants would be chasing the damn things out of the rafters for the next week. Olyver catches you up when you step back into the grand hall, while the crowd was pleased in particular Lady Lysa Tully was delighted by the trick, stating, ‘she looked an excited maid at her first bedding’. Isis looks absolutely bored to tears, sitting next to the woman who has taken her place by her side as invitation to talk her ear off and become ‘best friends’. She lips, ‘save me’ as you pass by helping Obella into her seat again, and you shrug, pointing your eyes towards the amount of guests you must entertain tonight.
>>
“I had hoped your feasts would be more entertaining, Lord Malroy,” a voice across from Obella says as you take your seat, taking the chance to fix your hair, “The rumors they speak of you. A sellsword from Essos. Who keeps the company of Myrmen, Pentoshi, and Summer Islers? And the things you have done? I would expect this to be like those I have attended in Norvos, a pity you Westerosi are all the same,” Lady Mellario finishes, taking a sip from her glass.

“My apologies, my Lady. I am afraid I hardly have the chance to entertain those from across the Narrow Sea,” you cast an eye out towards the crowd and notice Nararo Aros, you fat Pentoshi banker, enjoying his meal just as thoroughly as he was the first course. It brought a feeling of bile in the back of your throat, just remembering eating by the man brings back thoughts of disgust. Looking around Lady Mellario you can see her daughter is equally as bored, as child her age likely would be, you could only imagine Victus being the same in such a seat.

Have the Sons of Gold who aren't too drunk yet assemble, tie bells in each other's hair, and ride our horses into the hall as if we're a Dothraki raid, giving extravagant displays of our martial finesse, including horseback combat and archery, accompanied by a wartime refrain from the musicians we hired.

And then a dance to close out the night.

“In truth my Lady, typically I’d launch into some elaborate wild story of my time in Essos. Something to the effect of my wooing a dothraki princess after she nursed me back to health, riding with their khal, and being banished for nothing more than love,” you finish with some hand gestures for effect, Obella punches you lightly in the arm fixing you with a stern look, “What? It’s not like that’s true. As I’m sure my Lady is well aware, my stories likely a lost cause upon a woman of Norvos.”

Mellari scoffs as she takes another sip from her cup, “Even if I wasn’t a woman of Essos the story would have little effect. It is a rather popular one they tell of you.”

You laugh, “A pity then. Something else, a dance mayhaps?”

“How bold Lord Malroy, do you truly think yourself so worthy? Your dances with courtesans and merchant’s daughter’s across the Sea hardly amounts to my worth. Not to mention I have seen you dance, as poor a feat as it is.”

Oh she did not just insult your dance skills, “My apologies again my lady,” you respond your voice turnt to velvet, “Perhaps I may earn such a privilege my night’s end?”

“And what do you propose my Lord?”

You cast an eye at Obella, you are leaning halfway across her now, your back to the crowd and an elbow on the table, she looks amused by your tone and her eyes beckon you go on. You look about the grand hall, it was a fair distance, the entrance doors at the far end not a pace you would struggle with, but one that would impress, “I do wonder, has my dear betrothed spoken to you of how we first met?”

“I fear I have not had the pleasure.”
>>
“Well, she happened to be the entertainment the night after my winning of the Archery Contest in King’s Landing. And she, challenged me to a contest of bows. Now she had flexibility, but I had the reach and the deadeye to boot. I have been known to entertain my guests by my own right, so drab and boring the Lords and Ladies of Westeros are. So let us say this, I make a shot, from here, at my chair. Across the grand hall and hit… An apple. Within three shots. If I do it, I will have my dance.”

“And if you, as I suspect you will, fail?”

“You have me at your beck and call my Lady, for the duration,” you say with a smile, “Outside of my betrothed’s need for me of course,” you add when Obella flashes you a look, “A deal?”

Lady Mellario looks at you with a playful face, but one with the same persistent striking strength you saw in her daughter, “A deal, Lord Malroy.”

“Excellent, Arron, Victus!” You call, sending the two squires from their places in a scurrying dash towards your table.

“Yes father/Lord Brynden?” They ask in unison.

“Arron gather my bow and the arrows, the black ones, yes. Hurry now. Victus fetch me an apple, and take it across the hall, standing it upon the rack near the door, and be certain to warn those sitting below that I’m going to have a bit of practice.”

You see the young Arianne watch the two boys with wistful eyes, you were rather open handed with your treatment of the children of your Household, no doubt she would enjoy the chance to run about the grand hall with your son. A suitable cure for a child’s boredom.

Leaning further around Obella you catch Arianne’s eye, “My young Lady, perhaps you would like to aid my son? He cannot speak to all, it is a rather long hall. If your mother would allow it of course.”

Arianne looks to her mother with pleaing eyes, oh she was good at that, likely come in handy some day when a Knight with less sense in his head than is healthy has something she wants. Lady Mellario sighs and brushes her daughter’s hair, “Yes, I suppose I shall. Be safe Arianne.”

“She is good hands my Lady. Victus is a good lad, knows more people in this bloody hall than I do. Victus, come here, this is the Princess of Dorne. She is going to help you with the fetching of an apple and clearing the way. Do not wander after and be on your best.”

Your son smiles his mostly full smile at you, couple more years and that’ll be a stunner, women will be weak in the knees, “Yes father, I will,” he offers his hand out to Arianne who takes it delicately before your son grips it more tightly pulling her along after her, laughing with wild abandon. Arron meeting him halfway before delivering your gear, he looks after your son and the Princess and you roll your eyes waving him off. Always good to give the children the chance to make friends, particularly those in high places.

You stand up and begin to remove your doublet, stretching your arms and rolling your neck. The beginning of those assembled have learned what you’re about to do. The dance floor clearing and the murmurs of excited to see you ‘perform’ again begin to occur. The band quiets down after their song and you get a few cat calls from the crowd, in particular a very drunk Lady Racheal Conklyn, with Lucas by her side absolutely losing his mind in laughter.

“I tell you one thing Lady Mellario,” you say while stringing your bow.

“What is that Lord Malroy?”
>>
“You are right, Westerosi parties are an absolute bore. Since returning home the only way I can get a bit of joy out of it is either pulling out my bow and shooting something. Or getting excessively drunk. Sometimes both.”

“Truly it is a sight Lord Malroy. I imagine half the Lords of your Crownlands would be blushing like a maid to be in a state of disrobe as yourself.”

“Half the Lords of the Crownlands have gotten fat. Poor side effect of living under a King as we have. A ten course feast every night! Dessert is three courses! I can hardly breath after the first two.”

“Too content. Too boring. Not willing to take the risks in life. Even my dear husband is all too willing to take the path of caution.”

“Well if nothing else I certainly take my risks,” you respond glancing towards your family’s side of the hall. Dontos has his face in his hand, Isabella in hysterics next to him with Lady Alexes Chelsted. Archie looks at you with a look of absolute befuddlement. Isis rolls her eyes at you, and points mockingly at Lysa Tully, swooning in response to your removal of clothing but waves you off when you smile and shrug. She knew you, she knew you wouldn’t take a challenge lying down.

You finally get a relatively clear shot, Victus waving to you with the Princess to his side. You notice she’s a bit pudgier standing up, baby fat more than like. If her mother was any indication she would be gorgeous in less than a few years. You pick out an arrow, giving the fletching of your shorter winner a rub for good luck before placing the quiver upon the table, you flex your bow, notch, aiming it down at the table as you stand up, placing one foot upon the table the other on your chair.
>>
“Lords and Ladies of the Realm!” You call to a roar of applause, “I must express my fondest gratitude for your coming for the wedding of myself and Lord Obella Qorgyle. Truly I am a blessed man. In my admiration for you allow me a moment to return the love I have received tonight in a show of prowess. An apple, a target of much renown, from across the hall. If I strike it, I will receive the honor of a dance with Lady Mellario of Norvos, Princess Consort to Prince Doran Martell, of whom I am most fond. With the aid of my son, Victus, and the Princess Arianne Martell I will complete this feat in less than three arrows, so swear I.”

The assembled crowd cheers for your little speech, Lucas calls, “BLACKSHAFT!” From his corner, others joining him in chanting the name. You smile back at your wife, who looks to you with innocent eyes, before you turn to Lady Mellario, drawing your bow to the full length, “Let it never be said my Lady, that the Malroy’s host a boring party.”

You turn your head, focus. Inhale. Aim. Ready.

Success, two degrees.

Fire.

It felt good, it was a natural shot even. Trick shooting had gotten you plenty of coin before, in Essos and Westeros alike. The crowd had gone to absolute silence the moment your bowstring snapped back in place sending the arrow flying across the grand hall at blistering speed. In what usually felt like a lifetime passed by in a second. The streak of black flying puncturing the apple without so much as a chip coming loose, the apple getting caught upon fletching and jerked along for the rest of the ride. With a strong thup the arrow lodges itself into the solid oak doors that allowed access to your grand hall. The apple bouncing up and down before coming to a stop, Victus runs over to it, and flashes you a smile and very obvious thumbs up before pulling it down for the crowd to see and taking a bite. The crowd turns from them to you and roars into life, just like the commonfolk they were an easy crowd to work. You point at the Fossoways that had attended aiming your bow in their direction, the youngest one among them feigning a shot to the heart, much to the amusement of the crowd. From the corner of your eye you catch Victus offering a bite to Arianne who takes dainty, smooth move son.

You hop down from your place and hand your bow off to Worsh who comes by to collect the items and begin to redress yourself in your doublet.

“An impressive shot Lord Malroy,” Lady Mellario says after taking another sip from her cup, placing it down, smoothing her skirts and looking to you with a sideways eye, “Though not half so much that you knew you could do it.”

“Oh never my Lady,” you respond allowing your voice to turn to velvet once more and offering your hand, “Though I do believe I am owed a dance.”

Mellario turns to Obella, “Lady Obella, I do hope you do not mind my teaching your soon husband how to dance.”

“Never my Lady,” she responds with an innocent smile, “He’s all yours.”
>>
>>46232616
She is in lys
the mother is a volantenee living in lys
>>
The Norvoshi woman takes your hand and allows you to draw her up, “Well come then Lord Malroy. Let us see how you fare upon the dance floor.”

Mellario leads you to the floor where the other dancer’s have begun to assemble, snapping her fingers towards the band that awaits, lipped titles of songs are waved off before she settles on one. An upbeat song from Pentos, a lively song that she immediately takes the lead on before you settle into the rhythm and begin to wrestle control from her. It was truly an honor in a sense, you hadn’t even invited the Martells beyond a courtesy, to have Prince Doran’s wife attend was something of note. Perhaps even more so than Lysa Tully, though the latter did bring a rather important guest in your sister.

“Lord Malroy I was mistaken. Your footwork is… On par.”

“I will take the compliment then my Lady,” you respond after pulling Mellario from a dip. You flash a look towards Obella, who waves to you with a small smile, she enjoyed your flirtations it would seem. Even if it would obviously lead to nothing, still she liked to see women attempt to pull your attention away from her.

Mellario notices your wandering eye, “She is a lovely Lady, Lord Malroy. You are very fortuitous. My husband speaks of her highly. They way she recalls you in memory, she sounds to be half in love with you already. I envy that… Nurture her love, cherish it, as she does you. And you will have a marriage as happy as she deserves.”

You tilt your head to the side, half missing a step, there had been rumors that Doran and Mellario’s marriage had been one of passion that turnt to rot in the years that followed. It was good advice all the same, from a woman heartbroken from her own failed marriage. You nod in response, “As you say my Lady. My thanks.”
>>
The rest of the night you find yourself taking the hands of many fine Ladies of the assembled Realm. A Fossoway, the Brune girl, two Dornish women you haven’t the foggiest of their names, your Aunt Isabella, and for half a moment your sister, who is smiling more than you can ever remember in the entirety of your life. The short moment is fleeting as Lysa Tully takes your hand next and you lead in a rather awkward waltz, her footwork being so entirely heinous it was a crime upon the dance floor. You do not dance with Obella however, her coy decline of your offered hand coming with the word, “Tomorrow.” You catch a few interesting sights about the floor, Dontos was dancing with his sister for a moment, being shared with Lady Alexes at times as well. And your son danced with the Princess Arianne Martell for more than a couple dances, her face in blushes and giggles as he whispered to her. That son of yours.

The night ends with more of a sputter than a crescendo as those too drunk for dancing begin to stumble away, and the hall emptying in short order. Obella leaves off for the night with Lady Mellario and the Princess who receives a kiss upon her hand from Victus. Seven Hells. And you find yourself escorting a drunk Lysa Tully to her room, and your sister soon after to her room upon your floor. She leaves you with a rant about how absolutely insane that woman was but resigning to at least humoring her for the sake of relations and the favor that she had done.

You take to your room last, enjoying the night’s air from your balcony, before flopping into your bed. You would be needing the rest, and you were thankfully sober tonight, so a hangover during the wedding was the least of your concerns. Your stomach turnt to a knot as you realized what the next day would bring. A wedding. A wife by your side. Your child. It was all very odd, and you find yourself turning over in bed to stare at the ceiling in quiet thought before drifting off.
>>
“Lord Brynden,” comes the slightly less meek voice of Arron Qorgyle as he enters your room, “It is time to wake my Lord. I brought you breakfast, and your Uncle, Ser Dontos brought the final preparations for the day.”

You roll over, nearly fully awake already, “Thank you Arron. Grab a chair, eat with me,” you say pulling yourself out of bed and plopping down into the chair by the terrace, “Any news from the Loyal Bows yet?”

“No my Lord. They are still silent, Ser Mason says they will not contact us for another week at the earliest.”

“Excellent job. You listen well Arron. I’ll be damned if I remember half the things that comes out of that man’s mouth,” you say with a laugh and bite of toast with blackberry jam.

“Thank you Lord Brynden,” he responds beaming. Boy just needed some confidence was all. Living in your family’s shadow can be hard when you are the nervous sort, you remember feeling the same way in your youth. You begin to go over the list of final preparations for the wedding. Dontos had made his suggestions in the margins and you had ticked off your approval weeks ago, but still just to be certain.

The Sept is near finished, still a gorgeous piece of architecture, to shame the one that was left in the wake of the Rebellion. Septon Tytos holds mass regularly, though you rarely attend. The seven statues that surround the dial are half carved, the floor’s masonry is unpolished but as your stride across the seven pointed star of the Faith, your heel clicks against it all the same. You pass the gathered Lords and Ladies of the Realm, standing in equal quadrants, a cross allowing you passage between them. Your cloak, the regal thing your father once wore upon his wedding day hangs upon your shoulders, the golden edges nipping at the polish of your black boots, held around your neck by a golden horse pin, the same that you wore in Essos, all your life even. The thing that saved you, Mason’s eye telling him more than your lips would reveal. The thing that Illiad recognized about you, to save his own life. A gift from your Uncle upon your birth, it had always been upon your cloak. A stark reminder of who you were, what you were to become. A Knight of House Malroy, a second son. The man in service.

Yet. Here you were, a Lord, the Lord of your House, your stride careful and pronounced, eyes watching carefully upon the Septon, who only smiles to you in return. A quick turn upon your heel sending the cloak into a flurry draping it over your side, the other with arm held out to receive your soon to be wife. Your eyes cast out upon the crowd. Your family stands before you, Dontos in full plate, shined to gleam even in darkest night. Your Aunt, Isabella, smiling proudly at you, her hands upon Victus’ shoulders who smiled just as much as she tussled his hair. Your eyes linger the longest upon Isis, your sister, she looked beautiful. Every bit the sister you had remembered, her wildfire meeting your own, though her’s dripping to her cheeks, and carefully cleaned up by a handkerchief. Lady Lysa Tully to her side was far more a mess.

The Dornish stood in the group over, those you knew and did not. Gulian Qorgyle stood by Ser Symon Santagar, your own squire next to them. Lady Mellario and her daughter Arianne further in.You find your men, Mason, Lucas, the Sons. Allies, Lady Chelsted, Jon Longwaters, the Crackclaw Point Lords. They are look to you with something… Something that felt like pride. Like hope. It stuck to your heart, the burning having finally subsided, only to be replaced by the cool memory of what once was, and what will be.

The doors open again, and you turn your head up, the crowd arching to see. Lord Quentyn Qorgyle in full plate enters, the picture of beauty upon his arm. Her dress was as white as fallen snow, trailing after her in seven tails. Over her eyes she wore a veil of white, from whence her long hair flowed to ringlets by her thighs. The only color was the cloak she herself wore, violently crimson and dark onyx of night, a clasp of a scorpion sitting upon her shoulder, the color felt so much more pronounced, so real in contrast to her dress. Her eyes meet yours as she enters, the pools of blue drinking in your wildfire like they had never before. She beamed, was radiant even, like the fairytales of your youth so striking her beauty was. Quentyn leads his sister down the center pathway, slowly, carefully. Not wishing to press her. You can see a tremble upon his lip, of joy. When they reach you, she places a hand upon his own, allowing their eyes to meet, a shared moment of happiness between two siblings that had seen such in years. He bows to you, to the Septon and she takes your offered arm, wrapping her own into it and allowing you to lead her up the steps towards the Septon.

“A prayer,” Septon Tytos says, “May The Father…”

Short, simple.

He turns and picks up a length of cloth, holding it in outstretched arms, you place your and upon it, Obella placing hers upon your own.
>>
“Today we bear witness to the union of Lord Brynden of House Malroy, Lord of Steadhold and Lady Obella of House Qorgyle. Your vows?”

“I take this woman, whose warmth spreads through my blood like wildfire. Whose presence, a sweet poison, I would sooner die than deny myself of. Whose very being brings to my heart such a feeling of love, passion, joy, that I never thought I could feel again. Through coldest winter nights, and hottest summer days. I do so pledge,” you say.

“I take this man, whose touch inflames my senses like the first kiss of Spring’s light. Whose actions are born of the Warrior himself. Whose love, whose pain, whose everything is worn upon his cuff, but shared to no one but myself. Through his hardships, his highs, his lows, I do so pledge.” Obella says next. Her voice quivering midday way through, “With this kiss, I pledge my love and take you for my Lord and husband.

“With this kiss I pledge my love, and take you for my Lady and wife.”

“In the light of the Seven, I pronounce to all that you are of one heart, one flesh, one soul. Cursed be he that wishes to tear them asunder,” Tytos wraps the cloth around your hands as he says this words, before placing his hands upon both of your shoulders and bowing his head in silent prayer. He takes a step back and holds his crystal in his hand, raising it to cast a rainbow over you both, “Here in the site of Gods and men, I do solemnly proclaim Lord Brynden of House Malroy and Lady Obella of House Qorgyle to be man and wife.”
>>
>>46233791
We've also turned down offers for premarital sex after being bethrothed. Personally, I am all for keeping it in our pants and am not going to push for casual sex either. I liket that Brynden is growing to be a man whho no longer needs to drown himself with women and wine, and can be satisfied with one really passionate gal.

That said, that doesn't mean we can't still be flirtatious or be tempted. Set backs will probably happen, but I don't want to go looking for women.
>>
You remove your hands from their bounds, and unclasp Obella’s cloak, handing it to Quentyn with a silent nod. You unclasp your own after, and with a flourish flip it around before the crowd, the golden horse upon it looking to ride gallop across and rest upon Obella’s shoulders. You gently clasp your old friend in place. Allowing your hand to press against it firmly. He had seen much of the world, now he would protect what was your world. You pull Obella’s veil over her head, you could see the tears of joy in the corner of her eyes, a placed hand wipes them away as you lean into her kiss. The crowd appluades, and you feel the Lord. The man that would lead your House from the brink- No the man that already had, his steps only gained resolution now, strength, momentum. You were the Lord of House Malroy of Steadhold, and this was your Lady.

Ride unto the Sunset.

>Status has increased to 5.

Okay then, that's a wedding. I did way too much research into that one. But it's official, Obella is now the Lady of Steadhold, and you'll have a first born child in the coming months. Go you guys.

Anyway, thank you for participating as usual, next thread we'll open with the reception. Do the bedding, shield mounting and beginning of the Tourney. Plan to begin to work on the Crackclaw Point Alliance stuff and Wesley's part in that now. Also talking to the mess that is Lady Tully. Have fun with that.

Next thread will be Sunday, 28 March at 2PM EST. I don't do easter, so I'm free, but I hope this isn't an issue for anyone else.

As usual I'll be around for comments and questions after I archive. Thank you all again for participating, I really enjoyed this thread.

Is it alright to bed her if she's pregnant?

With your luck your home will probably burn down or something before that happens. I swear, the universe is out after you.

Thanks for the thread Father.

I loved it.

Archive, please.
>>
>>46234130
Thanks for the run dad.
>>
>that scene

Man that was up there with the Archery Contest for me dad. Great stuff, now we just need to get to killing
>>
>>46234130
I celebrate Easter, but service should be over way before then. I'll try and be there.

Also, solid thread, had a good time. Looking forward to the one Sunday.

>>Status has increased to 5.
What do we need to do to increase it to 6? fuck Royce's shit's up?
>>
>>46234130
Yeah it was a good time. Good to see Brynden developing, he reads more confidently then when he first arrived and has really grown this past year.
>>
>>46234339
I mean, to be six I think we might have to become a Lord Paramount or something.

It's been a while since I played green ronin stuff and I was never that into it, but I seem to recall seven status being on par with kings or something.

We get a bonus for being Valyrian iirc so we might have some leeway, but uh. If our status gets too high our liege might start getting worried that we'll plan a coup.
>>
>>46234430
Yeah, five is a good sweet spot. Well above average.
>>
>>46234430
The default status from the book states that the Lord of a House is 6.
It also states that a custom House can have the status it wants.
>>
>>46234476
My bad. I might have shifted the scale down a bit because all the characters I ever played were low status.
>>
>>46234162
Have you ever fucked a pregnant woman?
Yeah it's safe, from experience. They'll just need to be a bit gentler with her for the bedding process.

>>46234163
God knows it at this point. I'll probably be stricken down for daring the run on Easter.

>>46234166
>>46234198
>>46234258
Thank you a lot. I really enjoyed that last scene personally. I spent half a day gathering whatever information I could about Westerosi weddings and used the show as a reference point.

>>46234339
My scale runs a bit differently, because the books are a fucking mess in that regard.

5 is where your family was pre Rebellion. Anything higher and either your a primary bannerman or the Lord Paramount of the region. It was just working back up to that really.

When you got home your family was Landed Knight level at 3.

The Archery Contest and the fame it brought was 4.

High profile marriage, back to 5. Because fuck you Bobby B can't keep us down.

6 will probably never happen.

>>46234411
That's an immense compliment, I'm glad someone has noticed how much more resolve and strength Brynden has put behind his inner monologue. He really has grown up the past year. Kind of crazy how we were having bar room fights and fucking seamstress daughters not a year ago.
>>
>>46234476
Oh, well then we'll probably be at six when the conflict with Redward is done and then hopefully focus on finishing repairs (if we aint dead) and that port. Honestly, with the Crackcklaw Alliance it is probably a good idea to focus on that soonish.
>>
>>46234545
Can you tell us if its a boy or a girl?

Also I loved everyone's reaction to the archery feat. What went through everyone head when declared and did that?
>>
>>46234618
Dontos facepalm was hilarious
>>
>>46234618
You know I have already picked out the gender, and by that I mean I flipped a coin. Do you guys really want to know?

I did not expect you guys to nail that shot so damn hard on the first roll. Fucking Brynden is a god damn ace with that bow, it's incredible.

Most of crowd was drunk off their asses at that point, so a lot of shock and awe. Lucas did some more incoherent yelling. Dontos shook his head, but was hassled by Isabella and Alexes for not having fun. Mason made some money off of a Symon Santagar, fella still doesn't know you're pretty amazing. Lysa Tully... Well I shouldn't have to go into that. And Isis was thoroughly impressed, she's never seen Brynden showing off to that level of skill yet, her big brother has grown up a lot.

Noraro Aros may or may not have enjoyed that a little bit more than he should have. Half naked Valyrian Lord putting on a show for dinner? Yes please.
>>
>>46234720
Did you already do all the stuff for hair colour and eye colour? Beautiful Valyrian features?
>>
>>46234545
The only thing that got me was that Obella only seemed a little despondent at the death of her friend. Was expecting more of an emotional outburst, but then I guess she's a spy so she's used to putting a lid on her emotions.
>>
>>46234720
>You know I have already picked out the gender, and by that I mean I flipped a coin. Do you guys really want to know?

Yes!

We truly are the banks of bays number one client
>>
>>46234720
Nah, I can wait. It's one of those surprises I'm looking forward to, especially in light all the bad surprises we've gotten.
>>
>>46234720
I love what a huge creepo Noraro.
>>
>>46234754
She bottled it up pretty tightly. There is going to be another scene later where she confronts the imposter. You'll see her real feelings on it then.

Spywork and House comes first, she knows how to shift priorities, and when to focus on what. But believe me, it hurt her, a lot.

>>46234752
I have, they'll have the primarily Dornish features, hair like their mother, tanned skin. And they got lucky with the eyecolor, Obella has that really dark blue color but Brynden's family has a more violet color, so it'll be somewhere in between the two. Gorgeous though all the same.

>>46234770
>>46234787
I'll keep it a secret for now. It's a fun thing for me to keep as a secret, but I really can't wait for it.
>>
>>46234720
>Noraro Aros
I had this dream of Dontos going to the fat banker for a loan and sweating bullets the whole time he was negociating with him. Once he gets back to the Chelsted Castle he pounded Alexes into the bed like never she'd been fucked.
>What the hell was that? I mean, Wow...
>I..I don't know
>>
>>46234863
>They'll have the primarily Dornish features
And so it ends, RIP beautiful Crownlander Valyrians. Salygar is probably laughing all over his little island.

What a turnaround. How long has it been? Just over a year?

Andals gotta' be jealous of this valyrian swagger.
>>
>>46234882
Saltygar, fug
>>
>>46234863
Purple eyes?

Valyrian features are still alive then

Good ol Lord Obella Qorgyle, showing us the magic of mpreg
>>
>>46234882
>>46234919

Not quite, I plan to have the children (assuming we do the batshit crazy 5 you guys want) as a sort of range. I'm mixed myself, my dad was irish/german and my mother mexican/spanish. So I'm taking some cues from my own siblings in that regard. Some will be lighter and take after their father, since we all know Westeros makes no fucking sense, while others will take after their mother with that darker complexion. Really the ringer is Obella's mother was a Dayne, so mixed with Dornish and Valyrian you're going to get a lot of variation between the children.

>>46234961
That really was a great typo. That's not even my fetish either, so how that slipped in I have no idea.
>>
>>46234545
>>I'll probably be stricken down for daring the run on Easter.

>implying I'm going to interact with my family on not be on my phone the entire time
>>
>>46234961
Wow, I guess I can see why she won the Brynden bowl, with that extra advanatge
>>
>>46234987
>since we all know Westeros makes no fucking sense
B-b-but muh seed is stronk
>>
>>46234961
Wow, those robes are pretty voluminous.
>>
>>46235068
Apparently not strong enough,
>>
>>46234961
I swear the moment obella is healthy enough after the birth. Brynden will try to impregnate her again

Shooting out babies constantly. Which reminds. Father you need to make a scene in which we inform her that brynden wants 5+ children
>>
>>46234961
She needs to properly sheath her weapon, given she's pregnant. Too dangerous to wield something like that
>>
>>46234130
Um, Easter is on the 27th Dad.
>>
>>46235289
...
Well fuck me you're right, I'm good at reading calendars apparently. Still plan on running Sunday, just need to fix the date. God damn it.
>>
>>46235340
Yeah I was doing the math in my head and noticed it was offoneday.
>>
>>46235340
Obella distracting you with her "weapon"?
>>
>>46235068
The Malroy seed, historically, has never been particularly strong. It's sort of a wash and more often than not members of the family end up like Dontos or a 'Ser Aeson' Malroy.

The Targaryen intermarriage did help that a good deal, saw a lot more Silver hair and Purple eyes since then. But the green eyes are still far more common.

It's a mess with Obella's parentage, but there will, more than likely, be a 'valyrian' child.

>>46235157
Yeah I do need to make that scene, so Obella can shoot it down. Well the constantly pregnant bit at least, she's fine with that many children, though will be surprised. But yeah, Obella has shit to do and doesn't just want to become a baby machine. So to speak.
>>
>>46235464
But brynden wants children!

She is being unreasonable!
>>
>>46235464
Nah B will make a wager against her and win then just bed her again and again. They will write tales of the two of them.
>>
>>46235464
Could we use Victus charm to make her reconsider ?
