Yeah. It does make some sense what with current Iranian-American diaspora larping as ancient Persians out of anti-Muslim sentiment.

Or you could just make them space cowboys since ancient Persians had epics about pahlavans who were basically ancient cowboy paladins, they even used lassoes in war.

Mountain people that created their empire, but instead of enslaving conqueted peoples they treated them as equals (unless you wanted to rise in state ranks, but then you just had to embrace their culture), their empire had great autonomy when it came to regional rulers, their religion was dualist in nature - Basic premise was that there is eternal battle between good God and evil God

That fits pretty well. 5d100 for perferred form of combat.
>>87278690
I mean, the planet's culture is partially vulkan, so it could be that the populace disdains emotion (maybe to encourage younger psykers to better control themselves or something like that) and displays of it. The entire concept of "Art" basically runs counter to that, so his parents/family could have been kinda outcasts for being artsy (and since he loves his parents he disdains the world that dissmissed them so). As for his siblings, could be that one or two of them turned out to be psykers and were stolen away by one of the sorcerer kings, triggering the 3rd primarch's war against them.
>>
>>87276515

We should probably slow down on the roles for a bit and focus on coming with some lore tidbits for the three that we have so far.
>>
>>87327727
V seems similar to Mortarion except he actually likes the Emperor and his kids love him. I think his defining struggle and his personality tie together why he's the way he is. He ruled a chunk of his homeworld and he had to deal with constant uprisings. He probably thought it was unjustified and it was people's lives. He's bitter that mortals don't care about what's best for them and he doesn't really care what happens to him. He respects the Emperor because he has a plan to elevate everyone and they're guiding mortals to be self-sufficient. V doesn't trust his brothers because he doesn't think they'd let people be and would betray their father's dream.

For his fall, I feel like it'd be a gradual thing. His main rival during the Crusade was a Greater Daemon of Nurgle. He probably slowly succumbed to the Grand Father's embrace not realizing how twisted he had become. By the time Archtraitor wanted to kick things off, V was already corrupted and ready for the betrayal.
>>
>>87327727
Agreed.

Good lore, dude. I don't think we ever agreed that his rival was a Greater Daemon of Nurgle specifically though. Also PDF updated.

>>87327727
I'm thinking V's homeworld could be a mix of idyllic biodomes and mortal engines style mobile forts protecting those domes from both local wildlife and other forts. Him being in charge of one/several of these forts might fit with his focus on armoured combat and technology.

>>87328519
Makes sense honestly. I was thinking the mortal friend from his homeworld (maybe the sibling that he loved, or their family) might have a hand in it as well. Not outright convincing him to turn, but pushing him towards it without realising it, or somehting like that. Maybe they get killed by some of the planet's populace, and that severing of V's tie to humanity is the straw that breaks the camel's back.
>>
>>87328685
I've got to say I really like Sargon for V. A solid sort of name, but a little evil-sounding in a way. I also like Janus or Dah'es for III.

>>

Well, in terms of names I was thinking the third could be called the Star Seers, while the Ninth could be the Dusk/Dark Hunters, or something similar. Not sure about five though.

I wonder what made this schizo loyal when he hates the Imperium. He even left his territories for them.
>>
>>87351630
I feel like it should be all tied up with his legion somehow. Like, it seems like that's the only place he has any friends/gets any kind of respect. After all, he hates his family, he doesn't like his homeworld, he loaths the Emperor, and his friend is a marine from his legion.

Maybe he had to earn the legion's respect and that helps deaden the self loathing. Like, he had to work to get them to the point they're at now, and he feels proud of that. So when Chaos threatens to rip his legion apart, or maybe threatens his friend directly, XIIstands against them. So, it's less that he sided with the Imperium, and more that he sided against Chaos.
>>

>>
>>87351630
Dude has previous experience with Chaos starting shit, seems value duty highly, and hated his mortal family. Maybe his adoptive family was involved with Chaos-related shit and stabbed him in the back due to that, and thanks to that, the only thing he hates more than the Emperor and the Imperium is the fucking Chaos. That could also help to explain why he feels superior to other primarchs and hates the Emperor; maybe it is partly due to bad first contact between the Imperium and his domain mixed with the Emperor trying to do his whole "if nobody knows about Chaos then surely it will starve away" idiocy and the schizoid primarch disapproving it and feeling superior to his brothers because he thinks that he is the only one who truly knows who the real enemy is.
>>
>>87357286
That makes perfect sense.
>>
>>87357286
I like this idea, but I'm not XII would know what Chaos really was. Like, from his perspective it's probably a cult and some weird monsters running arpund killing people before getting killed ion return, and I doubt Emps would actively tell him the truth. It's still a good idea though, maybe more in the category of "I've seen shit you wouldn't believe" than "I know the answer to the world, the universe and everything" though. Or maybe the Primarchs don't believe him when he talks about Chaos (if he talks about it at all)
>>
>>87342467
Could be a bunch of subterranean stuff about, like giant mole rats or soemthing, and I'd imagin the planet is more likely toproduce meat for the imperium than grain and shit. Could be that the population lives underground themselves, only going above ground at night so as to avoid the intense heat during the day, though I'm not sure how well that could mesh with the Mongolian stuff
>>
>>87358902
I feel like Big E would tell him half-truths to placate him about it. XII probably thinks he knows everything about it but completely ignorant to the big four
>>
>>87359923
I feel like it’d be more 1984 than Mongolian. We don’t have to use both.
>>
>>87362502

>>87362532
>>87368670

>>
>>87368861
Could be both, just to different gods. Theres a tseentch cult amongst the notgols as they manipulate their subjects/each other, and a khorne cult among the subjects as they rebel against the notgols.
>>
>>87362532
To add to this, maybe the stationary civilisations are underground, and the ntgols are the oly ones allowed on the surface. The subjects are told this is because the surface is covered in horrible monsters (that the notgols protect them from), or irradiated (but the notgols hunt through it for anything of use), or doesn't exist (but the notgol's explore the tunnels above looking for more caves to call their own), all to limit their movement and convince them that they are reliant upon their masters.

So basically Magus combined with Girlyman.
>>
>>87381311
Looks like he has Magnus' desire to learn, his legion fight like Emperor's Children/White Scars but have the equipment of Imperial Fists/Iron Warriors but he seems to manage ruling as well as Guilliman.

Any lore ideas for him?
