"I've seen things down there..." Edition

>What is this?
/TG/ DEVELOPS A GAME.
IT IS CURRENTLY PLAYABLE.
EXPEDITION - an ~1870s era, Jules Verne-inspired retro-futurist, underground blood storm hellscape.
It is a Skirmish wargame. Two players with their own expeditions, on a hexgrid map, fight each other for victory.
A campaign mode is planned, but is far from completion.

3 versions of the rules exist, TWO of which have been playtested:
>1e - proof of concept, recently updated with unit stats
>2e - lead by 2e anon, playtests started, unified document is in the works
>3e - Replaced 4e because it died. Spearheaded by 3e anon, needs more playtests, rules present in the doc

>What can I do?
Shitpost, meme, get comfy. Read over the docs to settle in.
Familiarize yourself with rules and plan some playtests.
Contribute if you have ideas. Give feedback on contributions if you don't.

I have a soft spot for the Lemurs. Love me troglodytic beasts that have forgotten the touch of light.

Speaking of which...

>The Gorgs are in their Stink Juice induced euphoria are tellers of tall tales, salacious quips and blatant lies.

>In what passes for Gorgian legends, they say one of the many uses of Stink Juice was to keep away the great predators known as the Star Nosed Hydra Mole (or 'Nosy Bastard')

>This creature had an incredible sense of smell, with not just one not just two but up to 12 sets of nostrils! Most of these stationed on sentient feelers sporting thier own sets of teeth and ravenous appetite. These feelers would be sent into tunnels if the main specimen could not tunnel through the strata found in lower regions of Agartha.

>Snaking their way through, they would snatch prey up, take their share and bring the largest portion of the kill to the main specimen. With so many feelers, the Star Nosed Hydra Mole was able to clear out cave systems within the hour.

>The Gorgs even claim that they hunted these great beasts in turn. By forgoing their Stink Juice rations (this author finds this highly unlikely) they would shed their protective layer of stench; Braving the creatures hunting ground, hoping to prove their worth as warriors.

>If asked for any proof of these claims, a Gorg would simply give you a dopey, smug smile and say "Well...*HIC* dey ain't round no more, is they?"

>This author concludes this is simply another wild tale from a even wilder, savage species.

Illustrating what I meant yesterday by the twin screen for the naval/submarine/aerial warfare mode of the game. You keep track of directionality and positioning across both boards. Obviously its pretty simply for boats on the sideway map. This would be meant for a very low model count game, between 3-5 units a side. It could also be used for campaigns in which vehicles are prevalent, say you agree it'll be a French Expedition starting aboard a Skyship versus Sky-People pirates who will be harrassing it from their Sky-Whales. Eventually you could crash the Skyship and continue the campaign on foot in more normal 1-2-3e terms.
>>
>>89870607
We did originally propose having multiple maps to represent combat depth, with climbing or something between maps.
>>
>>89870614
It could be a way to fit in the Sky Captain and some of the units from the compasses that got pretty much forgotten since, so that we don't feel the need to include them in the Expedition mode but at the same time don't push them completely aside either.

Interesting. Perhaps this could also be a more campaign style thing? Make a third map with general terrain, distances are abstracted in tiles, and each token represents a "fleet" which then engage each other once they meet, using the map style you have just posted. More strategic options available due to having 2-3 fleets in play, and you make rolls to determine who gets where quicker, securing or taking objectives before the opposing player.
>>
>>89871600
>Perhaps this could also be a more campaign style thing?
Yeah I'm thinking it could also work as a way to set up a campaign and track the progress as you dig through.
But the third map being the "strategic" one is a good idea, and that could be where the card flip mini-game comes in. Build the map and deploy forces on them and then once its built create a roster for those forces and go from there unto the other maps/game modes.

it's less about lore and more about rules desu
one-off special faction/merc models or generic archetypes (like The Modern Major General) seems to be the best way to insert references and cool concepts without disturbing the lore structure

So, riffing on the TQ, what rules have you come up with for the exotic mounts and war beasts of Agartha? For that matter, should we have rules for more mundane examples? Obviously horses are already going to be making it in, but perhaps hunting dogs or war elephants could be incorporated somehow?
Actually, that sort of makes me think of Lemuria-aligned Sepoys painting accounts of the Prophecies on the sides of elephants...
>>
I have an idea for how we can have a THIRD gamemode that involves the surface world. Lemurians are known for seeding cults, correct? The colonial nations individual secret police/state agencies would most likely work to rid these cults like they would rebels or insurgents, basically like the 4th inquisition from WOD. The type of game could be at squad size and one could use D&D style models. The gameplay would be equivalent to Call of Cthulhu and focus on small groups of specialized agents wiping out cults in urban or sometimes rural environments.
>>
>>89877464
>So, riffing on the TQ, what rules have you come up with for the exotic mounts and war beasts of Agartha?
Currently we have a few variant rules for mounts, but none of them are solidified.
Perhaps they have some value in the overland campaign mode (movement / carry capacity?)w

3e Anon here, what the Fuck happened in the last thread? Are you people retarded? You are seriously arguing about made up lore? I like how all sides of the covo were wrong and right in many regards. I have a proposed solution tho
>Each edition could have slightly different lore.
I dont like this solution but its something. The other one is to host a Vote on the Docs because people can samefag here. Also here are my 2 cents on the disscusion.
>Cut of point being 1912
No its fucking not its 1899. We aren't going into the 21 century.
>Paris sank 300m
Maybe if we actually explained what happened to Paris nicely in the doc people wont come up with more headcanon lore. Same has to be said about Istanbul. Because Istambul was a half sinkhole. Tho its fall is more related to everyone getting husked, but still...
>Verne Technology is all over the place.
It was cool for people back then because it was ew and never seen before. It was cool for us to see how someone predicted all this technology. Its not cool for a Retro game. See I didn't say futuristic, cuz its not. I never understood whats the point of setting something in the past if you are just going to bring in modern technology into it. Im only talking about colonial factions here, keep that in your mind. His stuff needs to be agreed on a base by base basis.
This is a setting of ruined empires. Ruined by powers beyond their understanding. And those still standing see their end fast approaching's, and they are desperate to stay in power by utilizing this new stuff. Im taking broad strokes at the setting so take it with a pinch of salt. Just like WW1 brough end to 4 great empires so will this.
TL;DR get the lore doc sorted. And don't be so thight assed about everything. Also if its not stated, or is and you just dont know, dont state your headcanon as Fact, but as a suggestion.
>>
>>89883792
>I dont like this solution but its something.
I agree that I also don't like it.

>No its fucking not its 1899.
Yep. I'd cut it off at mid 1880s but I also agree that there's no way in Hyperborea we're going to the 21st century.

>Maybe if we actually explained what happened to Paris nicely in the doc people wont come up with more headcanon lore.

But anon thats already the main game. Making two of them is just silly. We could treat it as an expansions, you know Stuff happening on the top instead of happening in the darkness as is the case in the main game
>D&D style models
As much as I hate how you worded that I agree. But I feel its kinda dumb to start from scratch. We can just modify a already existing RP + add rules for grid based combed like in D&D as you said.
I suggest we use Delta Green as a Base. We will change some irrelevant skills and add more specific rules for combat, if thats something we really want.
>inc. But why DG?? CoC is better because its set in the 1920s bla bla bla...
Because DG has Better More Refined Rules. And after all the time setting is only really just a skin.

As you may or may not know there are some individuals that hate the idea of using discord to speed up the process as they feel it will alienate the development of the game from /tg/. And they have a point to be honest. But then again we really should do something like that. I agree with you. What takes days on here can take minutes on discord. All Anons are welcome to join the Server we have but its only used for Playtesting.

>>89883897
I think, as a compromise, if it's really necessary to use discord, we can figure out basic game mechanics, discuss game results, etc. and someone has to do a small 1 paragraph writeup about what's been discussed, but lore discussion and other major changes should stay here. My own biggest problem with discord is that it's impossible to track conversations that go back more than a day, and if people are throwing ideas around on discord then a lot is going to get ignored or forgotten. But if it's just basic mechanics between the three edition anons then it should be okay.

I think its one of the best Naval Board games made and I feel we or well, You would just be reinventing the game. We could appropriate that tame to this setting no problem. Proposal for another Atlan Hero unit
The Arkodamode
> As Atlan Slave Soldiers may be promoted to Neodamode for extraordinary bravery or deeds on the battlefield, the Neodamodes themselves may be promoted to an Arkodamode if they continue to show such potential.
> Still lower than a citizen proper, but no longer a slave.
> Slave Soldiers may be upgraded to Neodamode on the field when they manage a kill with a Critical or Brutal hit. In the same way, Neodamodes can be upgraded to Arkodamode, but after the battle ends.
> Arkodamodes are a Hero profile and as such allows you to build your own character for the campaign as a reward for this model having been a badass.

I feel like this week wasn't that productive ruleswise anons. Methinks we need to take a step back and focus on a single thing.
Throwing out a topic to maybe get a discussion started:
> During a playtest the armor values of british troops came up. It felt weird that largely unarmored soldiers received an armor rating
> Should the current Armor values be reworked and Armor 1 be made rarer?
> Another point is armor granularity: at Armor 2 it is basically impossible for some weapons to hurt specific models
> This will only get worse if we start introducing higher Armor models
> Should we leave this as is, or maybe try and change this by introducing a higher range of Weapon AP and Armor values?

Also, If anyone's up for a 3e playtest tomorrow, or I guess Today (Satuday), I'll be available from ~2-3 PM GMT
I kinda want to test how faction mirror matches play out + Light rules for non-melee factions, but I'm up for anything

I vote for a higher range of Armor/AP. With the mere existence of Titanium I think it is a necessity for further development. That way Atlan and other high value units will get their due, and weapons will have the wiggle room to go against them.

I'm not really available this week sadly. But after the playtesting the stats have been altered. Brits no longer have armor.
Armor needs to be drastic to even be considered. Because guns are so powerful you either go all in or not at all to stop them. So Armor is really more meant for melee, like it was in real life. Most melee weapons won't be able to damage a full plate knight. Maybe we can change that when hits to pass trough armor they are more devestated as it would represent you hitting a weak spot. Think of pick related. A T2 Armor. But you roll a Mortal wound. Maybe have Armor negate a wound level but not reduce the rest. Because in the current system, even if you rolled a Mortal wound on a T2 armor you would only do a scrape. When in reality it would be more akin to something as pic related.
Another option is to have armor and damage types. But I feel that would slow the game down. Example: swords do slashing damage. Chainmale armor has T3 against slashing, so you are practically immune, you have T1 against stabbing and you have T0, no protection, against blunt attack.
Maybe make it simpler. Ranged and Melee Damage only? Tho I feel this would work better if our game used damage numbers instead of wounds.
At the end of the day, what's the point of Armor if anyone can piece it? If you see a tank and have no AT, you bugger off. There will be higher AP and Armor stats added into the game but nothing will really go bast 3.and if it does the coverage would not be 10. So a bulletproof vest would be like Armor 3 T3 Armor while full plate armor would be like Armor 10 T1
>>
>>89889543
I mean if weapons did 1d10 damage and armor had had a 50% chanse of reducing damage by 5, 100% of the time then sure. But here, max "damage" we can do is 3. AP can be up to 3. And that's it. The point of 3e was to make something simple. Sure it does leave the armor system to be bit too simple and limited but I see no other way to keep it simple. Armor being damaged after a hit is a good idea on Paper but for it to work it would have to stay on Paper, aka book keeping, a lot of it.

Sorry I assumed too much.
You will eventually learn to recognize Atlan Hater anon. It is very clear when he's in the thread. Initially I thought he was larping since there was mention that the game's grognards resented Atlan for stealing Atlantis spotlight at some point, but no, he truly despise the faction for some reason. He always shits on either Atlan whenever its posted, or about the timeline. Which may be very ironic, since I went back in the archives to what I'm pretty sure is his first post and he wanted to include an actual Nazi survivor faction that had escaped WWII by digging underground. I'm pretty sure he's also the anon who screams whenever you mention Lemuria lore without mentioning Aryans of Swastikas...

I wasn't really following but maybe we can make this factions thing be fast regeneration out of battle for the camp. mod. Example: A wounded colonials will ahve to return to their camp and spend a week getting healed while these Terracotta soldiers will me able to fix each other in a day. True some of them will be cannibalized for 'parts', but hey you can go right back into a battle fully healed. It could be an army with very limited numbers. the only way to get more troops is to dig/uncover more and activate them, or what ever the lore is. Very dangerous and aggressive, but losing hurts like hell. I believe that battles in the camp. mod will last a lot less because once you see that the battle is over you will retreat to prevent meaningless losses.

yes, the anon behind it also wrote up an "anti-pope." Which lead me to conclude they don't actually know eastern european history. The "anti-pope" would be the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. The Eparchy of Hungary is a thing. Greek/Russian/Serbian/Bulgarian/Romanian orthodoxy has been the catholic state's biggest rival since the earliest crusades. It should also be mentioned that orthodox christians were given special privileges and it's because of being in Byzantium's religious sphere of influence that Hungary became so staunchly anti-turk. Which by extension would possibly mean the Atlanteans would be aiding them.
>>
>>89897648
So, wait, do you think it would make more sense for Austria-Hungary to adopt Orthodoxy as their offical religion or some shit, rather than, you know, just take over the local Catholic church like normal rulers at odds with the Pope did?
>>
>>89897591
He's a clever Lemur, it's alright.
>>
>>89898356
it'd be a lot easier to say the Hungarians finally got a political and social edge over the Austrians, and now have the ball in their court. So yes, adopting orthodoxy would be simple and straightforward. Secondly it'd make more sense because at this point before Italian unification, the pope was literally a puppet of the Austrians. Why the fuck would they snub him when the papal state is their perfect bludgeon against the two Sicilies and garibaldi. The papal states and Sardinia-piedmont under the french are basically the bulwark against Italian unification. Any way you look at it, it makes no sense for the austrians to fuck over themselves like what the anon posted. So let the Hungarians take the reigns to explain it at least.
>>
>>89898835
Well, as it has been written so far, the Pope was already ousted in the early 50s, the French ultimately failed to protect Sardinia, and Austria itself jobbed hard in the alternate Crimean War and was in no shape to do much. They then lost Lombardy when Italy teamed up with Prussia in the alternate Austro-Prussian war. The Italians control most of the peninsula in the 60s, they have access to some clearly supernatural powers, control the only known entrance to Agartha in Southern/Central Europe and the Vulcan Lords are themselves interested in securing at least one friendly neighbour. Do tell if I've missed something. *Assuming* the current timeline as is and Italians being as successful as they are, there is more to gain from snubbing the Pope at the point when the Austrians actually do it.
Mind you, all of this was based on ideas voiced by anons over the course of the threads. Some of this goes all the way back to the very inception of Volcano Italy. I'm all for retconning stuff to make more sense, but we do have to keep in mind how it interconnects with the other bits of lore at this point.
Like, for instance, you know what would, in fact, be simple and straightforward? Austria just remaining anti-Italy and loyal to the Pope forever. But then you have to consider how it makes the Holy League kinda redundant; whether Italy will even survive being surrounded by hostile France and Austria; how Prussia/Germany fits into this etc., etc.
Anyhow, say what you want about the other shit, but on its own, Hungary (itself still largely Catholic) dominating to the extent of imposing Orthodoxy on the empire at large is a bit bizarre. Even in the Hungary-dominated arrangement, would it not make more sense to just "nationalize" the local Catholic church along the lines of Gallicanism in France or Joseph II's reforms in Austria itself?
>>
>>89899556
>my intensely heavyhanded althistory timeline uses deus ex machina for why the austro-hungarians lose epically

Oh that's a good catch didn't mean that it would actually probably be at the bottom. I don't see him need a lot of it.
>Please remind me what Awareness is used for again.
For 2e will be the Parley action (which is a check to regain 1 Leadership) (so meaningless to the TitGolem, and completely untested) and Prophesy, possibly Stealth if it ever becomes a thing, and in the event we go rangeless there's the option to use it as a "rangeband modifier".
Some special actions needed a Value that wasn't really well represented by either Skill (before it was Accuracy, which, reminds me I didn't switch it) Discipline or Labour, so that's the stat for that too. it allows me a little bit more range so that I can have specialists that are cowards or wouldn't dig up super well while still being able to pull off their special action more or less reliably.

I've been thinking that Lemuria hasn't gotten much attention lately, so I'm going to propose a few prophecy mechanics. Be warned, I'm won't even pretend to try to make these fair or balanced, I'm just throwing them out there. Fair warning: my general attitude to game design is that if something is overpowered, I won't nerf it, I'll make something else even more overpowered to compensate. Also 1E rules got replaced by the OG chart in thread opener.

There are three types of prophecies:
>Prophecies cast at the beginning of a battle, that give wide bonuses to the army or negatives to your opponent, but you must roll a set of die each round to ensure they remain active. If you fall below the threshold, the bonuses or negatives are not applied for the rest of the game.
>Prophecies cast by certain units during a battle. These are unit dependent, but generally they provide small buffs in a certain radius, or maluses within an enemy unit's radius. You must make a dice roll upon casting each prophecy. Some of the more powerful prophecies will require every caster in your army to roll. If the roll is failed, your caster will turn into a Lemurian Flesh Construct. Or worse.
>Prophecies that must be fulfilled during the battle. You are given a set of tasks during a battle, e.g kill the enemy leader, kill 3 enemy workers, keep all your units alive during the first 2 rounds, etc. and if fulfilled they will unlock a special ability that can be deployed at any point after. Be warned, if these prophecies are broken you will suffer adverse destiny feedback!
>>
>>89904262
Some prophecy examples:

Wager – Gambling with your life! Roll dice between you and your opponent. If you beat your opponents roll, eliminate 1 enemy unit. If your opponent beats your roll, the caster halves his game-start health. Lost units will not incur dread. (Can be extrapolated to increase scale)

Altered fate – Something’s changed… Target any unit and move it anywhere on the map, except where that unit would die instantly.

Drums of Doom – The drums! The drums! Summon an npc lemur to the battle. Cannot deploy it within 7 tiles of the enemy.

Cursed Destiny – This one will rue the day they were born. Pick any non-leader enemy unit and control it at the end of your opponent's turn.
>>
>>89904262
I really like the idea of prophecies giving you bonuses after you complete some criteria.
Would prophecies remain consistent between factions (Disgraced Lemurians, Lemurians, Analytical Engineers, etc) or would each group have unique ones?
>>
>>89904289
My only gripe is that these sound less like, you know, Prophesies and more like straight-up spells. I think they should all ultimately deal with odds and fate, rather than rewrite reality by spawning monsters and controlling peopel. So stuff like Wager, stuff already in the docs and potential "fulfill these conditions" type Prophecies.
>>89905577
I think a mixture between a generic list and some unique faction/unit specific Prophesies could work.
>>

>austro-hungarians lose epically
So our normal history?

Why are you chuds complicating the timeline so much? Just do normal history with slight variations. Push dates if you have to. There is 0 reason for AH to become half Orthodox all of the sudden. And honestly its quite stupid.
>Be me, Austro-Hungarian Monarch
>We bested Napoleon many years ago
>Paris starts sinking into the ground
>Oh no, anyway, serves them right
>We wight many wars and take L after L
>We should try and fix our failing empire
>Oh there are strange things underground that hold immense power and knowledge?
>Its a new frontier?
>It can maybe save the Empire?
>The ottomans died doe to messing with it? Lol, lmao even! Serves those Muslims right.
>Time to dig men! We need to find a way down there. Its the only way we can save our empire!

>Muh but what about the War with Italy?
Leave it be as it was.
>But what about Prussia?
Nothing changes, stays same as in our time line.
The only thisn Austria and Hungary shared were foreign policy, military and leader. Just keep it that way.
>What about Bosnia?
Well this is when It starts to differ because we dont have an actual year for the exciting incidents. Bosnia was annexed in 1908. It was invaded in 1878. My guess is that the Ottomans got husked before his date. And if they did then this event could potential be pushed back further. But if it didn't then it can stay the same and follow our timeline.
Also seeing how they didnt participate in the scramble for Africa that much maybe we can give the Austrians a Small win by making them more focused on whats under them when compared to other nations. I mean if I was britain or france and I could choose between going to a underground hellhole where unknown dangers lurk and the rich lands of Afric filled with niggers that I can use as slaves, Id go to Africa.

I propose the following for Akamnandag:
>Available as a hero unit for any faction, yes, even those factions. He prefers to advise, not to lead.
>As a friend to all, he cannot be targeted for an attack by any unit, even beasts and mindless units. If he would be caught in an area of effect attack, the attack must be aimed elsewhere. Can still fall victim to hazards such as pits and the like.
>Cannot attack or carry weapons. Engages targeted units in a debate, with the possibility of convincing them to defect or desert. Higher odds of success the more dread that unit is enduring.
>Can give a pep talk to nearby friendly units, lowering dread and inspiring them to greater discipline for a short time.
>If Akamnandag is the only remaining unit in the expedition (not counting other units that cannot be killed ordinarily), he quietly bows out and immediately quits the field.
>Very good at dealing with mysterious artifacts, never accidentally triggers ancient traps or curses.
>>
>>89907597
I honestly feel like Akamnandag wouldn't be a playable unit at all.
He's a narrator, not a fighter. He's the guy sitting at the side of the battlefield, watching the battle and writing it down.

I don't think it's intentional, but it suits them to not really use mounts anyway. They seem to have a really big focus on superheavy infantry for their military. It's a pretty logical jump to conclude that they think mounts of all kinds are basically just for auxiliaries and messengers. Maybe a handful of less frontline oriented units, like the Warmaster or the Princess, could have mounts.

>There are three types of prophecies:
I really really like the idea of having both prophesies that can be done before the battle and before a campaign, that must be achieved at some point. Especially the latter fits in well with the idea that was advanced with Sponsors to fill a similar role.
I would have a generic table of Prophesies that can be done by units with a generic access to prophesies given through special rules, such as perhaps a Prophet keyword for the Lemurian faction, and with Heroes or the Analytical Engineer for other factions. Otherwise the rest fits pretty well.
I just don't want to have 2~3 pages of Prophesies to chose from, so I'm going to try and keep it simple.

Personally, I made the Kentuckian rebel as a 1-off mostly just because I wanted an excuse to canonize the mammoth cave as an entrance to Agartha. I'm not opposed to more confed units but I'd prefer something more interesting than them just being holdouts. Maybe it could be a repeat situation of how Lemuria helped out the Sepoy rebellion, except this time it didn't turn out as well. If you really wanted to lean into it you could have the whole Southern Pseudo-Aristocracy Cavileers thing for the leader units, and then fucking voodoo prophecy witches who have learned Lemurian techniques, but with their own spin. It would be a very leader heavy subfaction IMO, since from what I know (More of a Great War buff than Civil War) the South didn't have the best manpower or resources, but they did have an advantage in Generalship for much of the conflict.
Maybe Stonewall Jackson has been contacted through seances and he commands from beyond the grave, so you have a swamp witch dragging around a crystal ball with his face on it.
I do forget what regions the underground nations line up with though, so if Lemuria can't actually be near the American south and it's Mu instead you could lean into The Hills have Eyes aspect of the south instead, which would also be funny.
>>
>>89916163
As for the Abolitionists, I think they would work best as a halfway house between that time Americans went to fight in the Spanish Civil War, and the West Africa Squadron. So half of the subfaction are idealistic civilians and the other half are regular military units with maybe a little twist.
They're definitely not dealing with American slavery at this point (Unless the Confeds have a settlement down there) so I picture them as more of a general anti-slave trade task force and/or tool of the US government to expand its influence while having plausible deniability.
Of course, while freeing regular slaves is easy enough, they have started to run into a LOT of problems when freeing things like Lemurian Rockbreakers or Gorgs or even Morlocks. Polite society won't accept them on the surface, so you probably end up with some weird freaky ethnic district in the American Agarthan settlements. Which honestly sounds really fun since it'd be like Big Trouble in Little China but with Morlocks and that's hilarious.
>>
>>89916163
I don't think we should have Agartha mess with the Civil War, if anything, because we have enough supernatural interference on the Surface as it is and it always has profound impact. Besides, US already had stuff like Mu attack and the whole Paraguay shitshow.
The closest faction geographically would probably be Atlan anyway. And I'd rather we avoid associating them too heavily with each other just because of "slavery lmao" because that's a bit too kooky. An enslaved ex-Confederate who rose through the ranks and became Atlan's top spring-gunner due to his superior shooting skills seems like a fun hero idea, however.
The one place in Agartha where the Confederates might actually fit in really well is Leopold's colony, where they could settle down kinda like they did in Brazil. And that's supposed to be a merc faction. And they work best as mercs, really, and you could just get them some more units along the lines of the ideas you've suggested.
>>
>>89916598
>Leopold's colony

Also, you mentioning an Atlan Confederate character reminded me of John Carter and now I'm thinking we could lean into that if we wanted.
>>

I figure after the war the abolitionists would be more concerned with getting rid of Slavery wherever they find it. Not just in the union itself
It's also possible that the underground factions wouldn't get involved directly. But having some Confederate Magitech due to them having better access to the caves would be neat.
Maybe a couple Saurs found their way into a battle or two. But it seems to be more of a proxy war situation.

The Abolitionists seem more of a sporadic faction. Opposed to Atlan and new Mu, with holdouts for independent Morloks and Grogs. Disorganized, spread out. But able to be very annoying if left alone long enough.
>Abolitionist outpost

Americans were said to be a sort of guerilla-cowboy warfare faction, which I assume means ambushes, stealth, lots of mobility, gunslingers on horseback kind of thing.
Does the Abolitionists follow suit? A focus on ambush warfare based on freeing slave drives? The ability to recruit slaves from other factions or from they enemy expedition on the field would seem an obvious include?
>>
>>89917112
Perhaps if we extend the roster of post-confederate units, there should be some kind of mutual exclusivity with the Abolitionists? Steel-Driving Men and Kentuckian Rebels rubbing shoulders is a bit odd to think about.
>>
>>89918378
That can easily be done.
Kent. Rebels are already Mercs, so you just need to say that the US have both Post-Confederates and Abolitionists as subfactions. First gets access to Kent Reb second does not.
We'd just have to find some way to give some flavour to P-C to seperate them from the others.
>>
>>89918934
Lots of former Confederate soldiers wound up involved in organized crime after the war. Could riff on that.
It even ties into the wider wild west theme a bit. You are encouraged to paint your Abolitionist cowboys’ hats white and your P-C cowboys’ hats black.
Additionally, I was thinking the standard American infantry should be some kind of state trooper. Due to the handful of Agarthan entrances and the general hostility with Atlan/Mu, most states would be encouraged to organize and maintain standing forces to protect against possible incursions. State Troopers could be given different abilities to represent their region of origin. 38 (Colorado being the last state pre-1880) different abilities might be too many, for obvious reasons, but they could be done by region instead.
>>
>>89918378

Ideas for more Post Confed units? Just like 3-4 to match the Abolitionists we have

Atlan 2e up!
I realize I only have to go back and switch over Mercs 2e to the new value system to be finished what I had called "wave 1" a long time ago, mainly being France, Britain, Atlantis, Atlan and Mercs.
I will try and pick up the pace with playtests, but as we go along, what should I focus on for "wave 2"? Mu and Lemuria seems the obvious underground choices, United States for one of top spot maybe, since we are talking about it right now, that would leave one spot for the top if we go 50/50? Italians, Satsuma...?
Instead of a fifth one to replace Mercs I'll start working seriously on the Episodic Campaign mode.

The deeper you go, the more time begins to fold in upon itself.
Lemurs are degenerated men, from broken down by a future of horrors that we have yet to face.

We have some kitbashers yes but haven't seen updates from them in a few threads, sadly.

Its cool!
as long as idea lives on, people will phase in and out taking reasonable interest
If developed further I can see this being a nice niche little skirmish game focused around kitbashing stuff (is that the intention I assume?), like a slightly less goofy version of Turnip28
I am mostly trying to get the grip on the thematics/aesthetics of the more "weirdcore" factions since I tend to like those the most. The gist I'm getting is
>Mu is largely human auxillaries with some snakepeople/morloc/deep one aesthetics mixed in and general Lovecraft ayylmao eldritch weirdness the higher up you go
>Lemuria is priests/prophets and fleshcrafting alongside Siberian shroom beliefs (thats pretty niche influence big props) and vaguely chinese-like cultivation?
>Hyperborea is psychic undead from the weird future? Raypunk??? Slightly confused about the exact direction here

Proper Hyperborea tabletop army definitely seems like one of the more challenging things to do right on the tabletop. It sounds like the kinda project that would warrant usage of bullshit like MusouBlack and other vantablack shit with fluorescent paints on the side, generally risking looking like kaleidoscopic fractal barf of a garden gnome high on 2CB acid and aryan paraphernalia, but maybe that's the point, maybe not. At least the maymays made it sound like some mechanical elf shit, which sounds hard to execute well.
Making Napoleon soup look good also sounds vaguely hard, but I guess one could hypothetically greensculpt bunch of fire effects on some historicals and paint em like ghostlfames or somethin.
Something like Mu sounds more my taste unless I misunderstood the general vibe in my prev. post.

No you pretty much nailed it.
Mu comes with a flavour of steppe nomads though, on top of the eldritch stuff. Ghengis meets Lovecraft, in a nutshell.

I put a hold on mine since we were still figuring out the aesthetic, and I didn't want to push models that weren't associated somewhat with a profile, but yes, I did start kitbashing some Lannister troops for Knights of Britannia.
We did move on to online playtesting through Olwbear so it replaced a bit the need to make physical models. I really hope we will eventually go back to physical models, that's a huge part of this that's missing imho.
>>89925585
>thematics/aesthetics
You pretty much go it bang on, at least from the stuff posted. Hyperborea is probably the one that's the least "stable" and figured out, and isn't really "Undead", just, not human at all. Varied civilizations and critters from above the celestial arch (the sky is not space, there's a ceiling, and above is a psychic sea/swamp where Hyperborea lives) which all feed on the psychic suffering of the people in lower Layers. They can be futuristic or not or just monstrous (like a moon-sized brain or a walking & flying legged killer whale). They are always associated with hypersaturated rainbow colours, which are Emanations of the psychic fear they prefer, and which usually appears where strong or numerous Hyperboreans assemble.
I think there was a mention that Mu, despite being a mix of monsters and humans, was supposed to have a "comfy aesthetic", to compensate. Its not lovecraftian degenerated trash humans fucking manfishes (although I guess there's the whorelock...) but a nice looking civilization of mostly happy humans sometimes a bit blueish riding dinosaurs which happens to have absolutely inhuman creatures as leaders.
Lemuria is all about chariots, buffed musclemen, prophecies, proving you are the most Chad of all Chads or the best at "Just as planned!". Flesh Constructs are an oddity, so would be the Shroom cults I assume.
>>
>>89927572
I actually recall reading some speculation that soma might have been a shamanic mushroom brew possibly borrowed by the ancient Indo-Iranics from some Uralic peoples. Not sure how true, but a funny connection nonetheless. And if Lemurians do use drugs to assist in their prophetic arts and cultivation it's bound to include the Agarthan fungi.

That's all the validation I needed. So, to get started, the current roster looks like
> The American Officer (Hero)
> American Expeditionary Corps (Troop)
> American Prospector (Worker)
> Cobras Fumantes (Troops)
> Gunnery Sergeant (Specialist?)
> Tinglit Auxiliary (same as Brits)
> Miskatonic Advisor (Hero or Specialist?)
> Volunteer Rough Riders (Troops)
> Gunsligers (Troops)
> Ranger (Hero?)
> Illinois Jack (Character? Leader?)
and Abolitionists
> Buffalo Soldier (Troop)
> Underground Railroader (Worker? Mook? Troop?)
> Harriet Tubman (Leader)
So we would need Leaders, both named and unnamed at the very least.
>>
>>89930112
Underground Railroader is probably a cheap laborer unit not that different from the Hired Hand, except for having access to whatever kind of Liberation mechanics the Abolitionists get.
Steel-Driving Men are sort of like elite Abolitionist workers, being surprisingly durable and having armor piercing abilities to let them fend off melee attackers.
There was talk of doing something with John Brown for the Abolitionists. Anyone got any ideas? Power armor meme, perhaps?

There is a separate unit doc where people brainstorm/suggest units. Obviously you'd need to familiarize yourself with the existing rules before doing stuff there. It doesn't really matter too much if it's 1, 2 or 3e since the anons who write the editions change it to adapt stuff to their systems anyway. You've already taken the first step, so welcome aboard anon. Just check here, comment on lore, suggest lore, suggest game mechanics, even just asking questions will help solidify the setting and us figuring out what we need to make more clear. A good example was the Layer Depth and Shift fiasco from the previous thread. The setting is *fucking weird*. Not in a way that's so fucked up that it makes it completely alien, at first it looks a lot like our history + underground civilizations, but once you dig in the lore and get to Hyperboreans and the Loop, there's a lot to grasp to understand the schizophrenia inherent to it.
The biggest thing would be to volunteer for playtest or set one up yourself.

Why not lump all the "alternative" Americans together into one Rebel faction. Main American faction is the feds, standard semi-industrial early-democracy types.. Rebel faction is everyone who has a problem with them: natives, confederate-remnants, underground-railroaders, frontier-libertarians.
Not united with the same leadership in lore, but all with the common goal of resisting the Washington Government to create a free and lawless America; above and below.
There have been a lot of cool American concepts so it would be a shame if

Every group with grievances against the government's increased control heads down there and begins to undermine the foundations of the union. Resistance of every kind has a safe place to hide. It's the Wild West 2: Atlantis Boogaloo. Not so much a civil war but a lot of independent settlements and rebel groups making their claims and causing trouble (functionally the same faction in-game). But the government forces also want to extend control downwards to prevent invasion from Britain/France via the Trans-Atlantic tunnels.

Initially, states reported their entrances to the federal government, which promptly took control over this - most specifically, the tolls and duty taxes. State governments missed out on a lot of revenue. And so, as a result, when Colorado discovered an entrance in [whenever], they kept it secret until they could set up all the infrastructure such that it was beyond any doubt that the Colorado state government controlled it. The Federal government attempted to sieze the entrance, Colorado sued the fed in the Supreme Court, and the end result of Colorado vs United States was that all access points to other states and foreign entities (Agartha being only just one) were to be controlled for the purposes of taxing commerce by the state and not the federal government. This had ramifications not only on the already federal controlled entrances (which had to be returned or given to state control), but also on privately owned entrances which were seized by state governments. Some more libertarian minded citizens objected to this, and to this day there are rumors of secret entrances known only to major industrialists and criminal organizations - as well as federally controlled entrances used to transport military troops covertly.

If you're the new guy, it is the Atlans who are the slavers, not Atlantis. Knowing the difference could save your life.
Otherwise cool, especially the Natives chasing after the prey below. Many of them actually have legends about descending into the Earth or their mythical ancestors coming from below the Earth, so that's an angle that can be explored. And speaking of units, I think Americans could use a couple of more Natives other than the Tlingit, though I'm not exactly an Amerindian buff myself.
>>89936419
Given how it's all frontier-like, maybe there'd be some virtually independent colonies set up by private entities who have managed to take advantage of the entrances ahead of the government? Like underground company towns. Or underground Deseret 2.0.
>>89936598
>Do we set up a special rule for them to deploy after anywhere on the table, sorta thing?
That sounds dope. Maybe it could be expanded to be used by others under certain conditions, but even then Americans being extra good at it could be a nice gimmick for them. 2e already has a Speleologist who lets you deploy some units near the walls. Maybe they could have many units that can be deployed in any rough terrain, swamps, jungle or the like.
>>
>>89936678
The impression I got from the Abolitionists is that they're not really anti-government at this point, they're just super pro-interventionism in order to end all forms of slavery around and within the world.
>>
>>89936735
Which fits, in rl ~1870 was the last concerted effort by the Brits and French that ended the transatlantic slave trade. Since the French got busy with other shit in this it makes sense the US would have to pick up the slack.
>>
>>89936707
>2e already has a Speleologist who lets you deploy some units near the walls.
Yeah, was thinking about that.
How about we introduce a new Special Rule
> Guerilla [Terrain Type] : The owner of this model may choose to not deploy it. If he does not deploy them, they are put anywhere on the battlefield, in an Hex of the indicated terrain type, at the end of the 2nd turn. If there is an enemy model within 5 of this model after being deployed this way, make an Evasion vs Awareness Face to Face roll. If the enemy model wins, its owner may move this model back 1 hex per point his roll beat the other.
Lengthy rule but I think it would resolve fairly well, and would give some flavor to the US being able to sneak closer than others (all other rules similar have a straight up "cannot be within x of an enemy", this doesn't).

Exactly. That's part of the charm. The idea is we have had enough American offshoots and subgroups to make a whole other faction. But instead of the standard cliche divisions the setting lets us put all these contradictory groups into one faction; because rebels are defined more by what they are fighting against than what they are fighting for. They all happen to have the same enemy and have a similar approach to fighting it (mostly hide underground), of course they wouldn't get along; but to the Feds it would almost seem like a single belligerent force.

Anon it's just dust now. I live in BFE (bum-fuck-england). And the local museum, a cheap place the size of my house has three(3) Egyptian sarcophagi. Proper gold plated ones too. They talk about returning these things to the source countries but it's not feasible. Yeah they might get a few odds and ends back from London but for the rest of it they'd have to go door-to-door across the whole country checking attics and basements.
So you might want to consider that in the settings time period it doesn't matter what's up with Giza; there will be some cheeky chaps hunting for shiny souvenirs.

Not much beyond what's on the compass honestly. They're another kind of Agarthan citizen recently discovered by the expeditions of the second layer, like the gorgs. >Hyperborea has an entrance over the Pole (Forget which one, let's say north because otherwise this falls apart)
>Hyperborea is depicted as brightly technicolored, one could say Rainbow
>They love Pain and violence
I'm not insane, right? There is a connection here, both geographically and aesthetically

Also if husked conquistadors exist husked Vikings should too.
>>
>>89940117
The current entrance is over Antarctica, but I don't see a problem. It's not like you can't have a minor incident or two involving Hyperboreans somewhere else. Paraguay was so massive because of the artifact shenanigans and the general insanity of the Paraguayan War. But even a couple Hyperboreans quite literally slipping through the cracks is a big deal.
We've already committed to having strong Norse influences in Hyperborea anyway, with Sundr et al. The Norse (or other people like the Fon, who literally worshipped a cosmic rainbow serpent devouring its own tail and were very Hyperborea-core with shit like Dahomey) themselves would not even *have to* encounter the Hyperboreans directly for this to work, due to their psychic nature. Maybe the legends of humanity have shaped them to be what they are. Or was it the other way around? A Hyperborean would just answer "YES" and skin you, so we'll probably never know.

Olm time.
>Olm-Men and Olm-Steeds are related species of amphibious humanoids native to Agartha.
>Olm-Men are best characterized as reclusive, unassuming, and mild-mannered. They have little interest in warfare or the comforts of civilization and are mostly content to keep to themselves under almost all circumstances.
>Olm-Men have no spoken language, but have a system of hand signs that are designed to be either seen from a distance (though Olm eyesight is quite poor) or signed directly into the hand of another Olm-Man.
>They generally accept the name "Olm-Men" as the most accurate translation of their name for themselves (simply placing the palm of one's hand against the palm of the person you are speaking to) would be "men".
>Olms have extremely sensitive hearing, and while they are able to learn and understand human languages, it is extremely uncomfortable for them to vocalize themselves.
>The Olm-Men are not very dextrous, their hands better suited to swimming than working with complicated tools. They struggle to operate firearms, and generally lack knowledge of metalworking and other complex tasks.
>Olm-Men are generally pliable to anyone who treats them fairly, wanting to be left alone as much as possible, but they are willing to trade with humans. Frequently, this is to trade artifacts dredged from the deepest waters of Agartha in exchange for metal goods they lack the technology to make themselves.
>Olm-men are most friendly with Atlantis, and they once taught the men of Atlantis how to tame the energetic and aggressive Olm-Steeds that Olm-Men use as beasts of burden and mounts.
>In comparison, relations between the Olms and the nations of Atlan and Mu are strained at the best of times. The Olms have a long memory despite their relatively short lifespans, and they despise the frequency with which their kind are enslaved by raiders of Atlan and Mu.
>>
>>89942387
>However, despite this hostility, Olms will generally prefer to trade with and offer tribute to even their direst of enemies in order to avoid conflict.
>Aggression between Olm-Men is unheard of, and even when they find themselves on opposite sides of a battlefield, they must be strongly coerced into harming other Olms.
>Indeed, Olms dislike the sight of any creature suffering in pain or misery, and will generally try to prevent such things from occurring where possible. They will go as far as to rescue drowning Gorgs, simply out of a desire to not watch a person thrashing about in the water.
>The only exception to this is Morlocks. Olms have a complete disdain for Morlock life and will celebrate the deaths of any Morlocks they encounter. As Morlocks compete with Olms for the same waters and frequently eat captured Olms, this hostility is unsurprising.
>Olms who experience too much pain, anger, and sadness are often plagued by dreams of gnashing teeth and burying themselves in mud. Something calls to them, down there. In the dark. It disquiets Olm-Men greatly, and they do not wish to understand what this strange feeling in their hearts is.
>Olms travel in small troupes, rarely larger than twenty or so individuals, and migrate between various underground lakes and rivers.
>Olms struggle to conceptualize of a society larger than a hundred persons or so, and Olm-Men who visit human cities find the experience to be overwhelming and disquieting.
>Olms have a strange fascination for theater, however, and have developed their own form of pantomime. Olm-Men will wear costumes that represent specific character archetypes and act out silent tales of ancient legends.
>Olms have been known to visit Atlantean, Yazata, Lemurian, French, and Satsuma theaters when given the opportunity.

>Olm-Steeds, however, are quite different from their Olm-Man masters.
>Excitable, aggressive, and toothsome. Olm-Steeds dwell in the same waters as Olm-Men, living nearby their encampments and wandering between lakes just as they do.
>Olm-Men do not believe it is possible to "own" an Olm-Steed. Rather, Olm-Steeds simply allow Olm-Men to ride them and will carry their goods without complaint.
>Young Olm-Steeds are quite prone to wandering, however, so Olm-Men prefer to carry goods in a backpack while riding these young steeds to prevent them from abandoning the troupe while carrying valuable supplies.
>Olm-Steeds are especially violent toward Morlocks, and it isn't uncommon for them to worm their way through tunnels the bony Morlocks cannot navigate in order to devour young Morlocks in their spawning grounds.
>In order for humans to ride Olm-Steeds, steps must be taken to convince the Steed that it is an Olm attempting to ride them.
>Olm-Man slime is collected and applied to armor or clothing to provide human riders with the scent of the Steeds' preferred riders, so that they do not buck and maul them.
>Olm-Steeds grow more sedentary with age and will frequently adopt a troupe of Olm-Men as their permanent home, following the little Olms as they migrate.
>These venerable Olm-Steeds are decorated with fine leathers and paints and are seen as a great blessing by the Olm-Men.
>Though old, these Olm-Steeds do not grow weak with age until their very last breaths, and can be ferocious defenders of their chosen troupe.
>Olm-Men and Olm-Steeds are both primarily carnivorous, and they frequently cooperate when hunting the aquatic life of Agartha.
>Olm-Men in particular have a fondness for the shrimp-like crustaceans that dwell within the muddy bottoms of lakebeds where Olm-Steeds prefer much larger prey.
>Both are quite fond of eating fruit that has been allowed to ferment and become alcoholic.

Newanon here. This my first contribution so please let me know if this is redundant / retarded.
I read in the lore doc that the magma-pact the Volcanists made allowed for the development of large-scale agriculture on the 4th level (Sicilia Terzza), using volcanic soils.
How is the light provided for this agriculture? I have this image of great Roman-esque aqueducts - perhaps carved from solid rock rather than built with brick - that transports glowing magma that lights up Sicilia Terzza with a dull yellow-orange glow, like an old, shitty incadescent bulb. I also thought of lava-Venice but that is probably silly.

>With wild Buffalo nearly extinct the Native population begin hunting other herds; much larger beasts which graze below the plains.
I'd be surprised if this hasn't been mentioned here before, but 'The Mound' by H.P. Lovecraft might be of some inspiration. The people of K'n-yan are the result of American Indians living in the underground caverns.
>>
I wonder what Darwin and Friends are up to in this timeline. Charles himself was a little old for in the field experiments but I can easily picture him dissecting various Agarthan wildlife brought up.
I don't envy the poor fellow who gets the job of classifying the taxonomy of the Morlock though. How do you classify something that is simultaneously a degenerated human and an advanced fish?

Silly is good here. We have Italian lava surfers who have an in-universe reason to use "radical" in exactly the same way as californian surfers do.
As for light, most light underground comes from the Inner Sun. Through unknown means, its light suffuses all layers of Agartha, even when it can't be directly seen.
Depending on who you ask; it either contains the souls of the Titans, it is Napoleon's wife, it is a Hyperborean trick, or it's just a really big ball of bioluminescent moss. I'm probably forgetting at least one answer.

There's often mention of an "Inner sun" that lights up stuff, but that is not half as cool as magma aquaducts so hell yeah let's add them. They could make a sick terrain type.

On the topic of Lovecraft, there's a lot of other stories that really fit the setting (Even if they're a little late chronologically)
The Temple, Randolph Carter, the end of Shadow out of Time, even Rats in the Walls could fit really well.

>Some scholars have been perplexed by the ancient underwater ruins that the Olms live in such close proximity to.
>The makers of these ruins are utterly unknown to all but the most well-informed of individuals.
>Napoleon himself was only able to put the pieces together after studying in Errum, Old Mu, and Lemuria.
>There exist ancient tales of giant salamander-men. Brutal and cunning, they were known for their ferocity and boundless hunger.
>Wise in the ways of sculpting flesh, they engineered their entire race to become monstrous.
>Somehow, perhaps after a long conflict with Old Mu as each tried to steal the other's secrets, this civilization fell into obscurity and is remembered today exclusively through Olm-Man folklore about the "bad Olms" that their kind can become when they give in to rage and violence.
>Olm-Men are, in truth, a paedomorphic species that requires very specific mental and environmental conditions in order to metamorphose into their true adult stage.
>Olm-Steeds were created to be their guardians during their youth, able to follow their Olm-Masters to the ancient mudgrounds where they can become the monsters they were born to be.
>Among La Ombre, there exists a troupe of Olms forty-strong. These Olms, all escaped slaves who murdered their captors, embrace the legacy of the Bad Olms. They welcome the dreams of teeth and mud. They long to understand the urges within them, to become something greater.
>Perhaps, in his great knowledge of Agartha's secrets, Napoleon might be the only person who could possibly uncover the lost mudgrounds the Olms need to become their true selves.
>For now, they content themselves with putting on plays depicting all rulers other than Napoleon as baby-eating lunatics and delving into aquatic ruins for their emperor.
>Perhaps one day, when the Deluge comes, the Olms of old will rise once more...

Ah, the Inner Sun. I overlooked that. On that note, is it ever nighttime in Agartha?

I was, in fact, asking about Olms for a friend. She loves those little guys and we discussed some possibilities for Olm lore for a bit.
Some stuff I didn't fit into the narration:
>The vast majority of Olm mudgrounds have been lost to time and are probably no longer viable for use.
>Olms have a survival instinct to seek the mudgrounds in order to deal with hostility. The lack of access to mudgrounds or knowledge of what these instincts mean is a source of significant cultural shame regarding the instinct. It makes Olms feel gross and wretched.
>Fully grown Olm-Steeds exist just like the big Olm-Men. They're even more vicious than regular Olm-Steeds and completely hostile to non-Olm life.
>Olm-Men and Olm-Steeds are about as closely related as humans and chimps. Bad Olms engineered them into what they are today through flesh magic similar to Mu's.
>Olms have a complicated relationship with Abolitionists. Abolitionists love to free Olms and Morlocks alike from slavery and the Olms would really much rather see the Morlocks be killed out of hand. They can remain civil for about as long as the Abolitionists remain in the area. After that, it gets complicated. Fishman racism.
>Big Olms are similarly flexible to their younger counterparts and are able to fit through much smaller gaps than their great bulk looks like it would allow.
>Big Olms have dopey little grins. This is because I thought it would be funny if bloodthirsty salamander people went :3
>Olms tell their children that they'll either be eaten by Bad Olms if they misbehave or, even worse, possibly turn into them.

They pretty much only disdain Morlocks and slavers.
Legfish can be quite tasty, however...

Loving all this, always nice to see one of the OG weirdos on the compass get some love. Might be an idea for next thread to see what other beasties need a bit of development.

Feels like Olms are very nearly Leg fish themselves

No it doesn't matter as Docs saves old versions
its literally impossible to sabotage a doc, you can just revert the version.

Yeah we're past week limit.

Yes. The Inner Sun mostly mocks our own, completely inexplicably, its its light itself which act differently to ours. You have a day and night cycle similar to ours (hours may vary on your layer), and you have some caves which are illuminated indirectly and others which are completely dark, for seemingly no logical reason.
BUT, magma aqueducts for agricultural and industrial purposes are 100% absolutely insane and should be in I don't care, just say it works better than just regular Inner-Sun cultivation.
>>
>>89943444
It'd be weird for them to hate them. Legfishes are essentially equivalent to Olms-Men in that they are the sentient, talking, cultured end of whatever fucked up clade they are in.
No one really hates them, its just that its really fucking hard to give the same respect to them as people even would give a friendly morlock, because they are literally just the fishes we fish from the ocean, but with legs and that talks. A French Gourmet Chef won't give a second thought to its plights before cooking him up, and same with most everyone else.
Which is utterly tragic, because legfishes are basically the underground version of Golden Labs, they really just want to be your friend and help you however they can.

Has anyone else noticed the Inner Sun has getting a bit dimmer ever since that Napoleon guy came down from the surface? Haha, it's just a coincidence right? Anyway I was at the market in Atlantis to buy one of those glowing mushrooms but the prices have risen, weird right? This will pass won't it?
