>Veire is a High Imperial tech hive world, run by a democracy. House of Commons (politicians, administratum adepts, and the like), and house of Nobles (Sororitas, Priests, Navy, Princeps, Inquisition, and esteemed members of Imperial rank).
>Prime Minister and functional seats are chosen from house of commons. Soverign is traditionally the serving Canoness, with various ceremonial duties or titles held by various members of the house of Nobles.
>Sororitas, known for beliefs seen as somewhat divergent by the wider Ecclesiarchy, are closely allied with local Inquisition, who are considered one of the most influential non-governing bodies in the system.
>Inquisitorial presence is major, but headed by a surprisingly agreeable Inquisitor that's genuinely admired, respected, and trusted.
>Inquisitor is working with local Eldar to better the Vei system, and potentially get rid of local Dark Eldar, who the Eldar, the Sororitas, and the Forge world particularly dislike.
>Local forge world produces/hosts an Imperator Titan Legion, that the Sororitas tend to work closely with, not to mention the Shipyards. The two titans on station both host what are practically ship lance weapons, potent enough that they are considered a Medium strength maniple alone, despite being only two.
>Skitarii hold true to martian practices, as do their forge world, but are really normal dudes who just larp as red robed emotionless husks on the parade ground and are in fact startlingly agreeable.
>Everyone and everything is so damn militarized that it's a wonder how the place isn't classed as a Fortress System yet. The system could literally mount its own Crusade, and still be more defended than many Imperial systems.

The misadventures of the Vei System continue on. We've begun to tie most of the threads together, discovering that the largest conspiracies in the system tend to work in tandem with each other, and against each other at the same time. It's an unstable equilibrium just waiting for something to break.

Vei is located within the Ghoul Stars, which isn't a very nice place. Will the copious militarization, technological proliferation, and unorthodox Imperial and Mechanicus views be enough to withstand the horrors from beyond?

Let's find out.

Kabal Summary:
> Age: Remnants of a Noble House (more than 5,000 years old)
>Current Archon: Something extremely unusual, like a ruling triumvirate or a non-Eldar
>Delusional: The Archon believes something that is blatantly false: that he is a god, that the Dark Eldar aren't torturing people to death, or that Slaanesh doesn't really exist.
>Insane: The Archon's mind is so twisted and erratic that even Tzeentch couldn't read it.
>Origin: Dark Eldar low-borns defending their territory
>Belief: Purity Above All - A particular hatred of psykers, for the attention from She Who Thirsts that they bring.
>Flaw: Pride in the Colours - The Kabal insists on wearing gaudy and ostentatious ornamentation declaring their might and wealth
>Territory: Slave-labour complex
>Condition: Average
>Tactics: Performance Art: Terror
>Resource: Nutrient Sources
>Signature Weapon: Slave Hunting Focus
>Currently Not Betraying: Craftworld Exarch
>Currently Raiding: Daemons(specific god)
>Goals: Macabre Artistic Expression
>I feel like the overall Kabal doesn't have an interest in Vei but their Archon for whatever reason has a vested interest in it.

One of the hazards in-system is an asteroid field. Would be a perfect thicket for the Dark Eldar to lay in wait and raid from. And for their courtly intrigues to crash against each other. Maybe even sensually.

Vei System, Part 5: Secret Smut Edition is live.

So this is obviously nowhere near done but this is a starter to the Veire 1d4chan page (when it's made), I'll try and sum up the other worlds in something similar like this too.I've had to take a few minor liberties to explain things, but nothing that hasn't already been discussed by us in the last few threads.

A world where survival is an art. A world of extreme contrasts and formidable challenges. This Hive world ischaracterisedby its turbulent and harsh environment. Active and dormant volcanoes punctuate the landscape, casting a hellish glow across the broken rocky plains and hills that stretch as far as the eye can see. Fire tornadoes tear up the surface crust, making huge glass storms kilometers high and wide. But the surface is not the domain of the inhabitants; they havelearntto thrive in the depths of Veire's vast cave system, away from the blistering 300°c temperatures of the hellscape above. Beneath the scorched surface, the underground tunnels, caves, and magna tubes are a refuge from the above temperature. Here, life has adapted to survive in the most inhospitable of conditions.
>>
>>90022069
The underground hives are a marvel of engineering, bored and melted into the rock, and connected by huge segmented tunnels. These caverns are layered with ceramite and rockcrete imported from the nearby Mining-Moon of Al-Saxum and are cooled with city-sized hydrogen-powered thermo-nullifiers. Veire is host to vast subterranean oceans, providing much needed water for cooling and drinking - after refinement. Luminescent fungi and minerals provide a dull glow, casting surreal shadows on the cave walls in the lesser used caves. Inhabitants of these tunnels report sounds of scratching and tunneling when there are no scheduled expansions in the tunnel sector. No evidence to support this has been recorded.

Not all of the population live in the caves. Two grand spires - one at each pole - pierce both above and below ground for kilometres. The North Spire is inhabited by the House Solan - the planetary governors. While the South Spire is inhabited mainly by the Over-Hive gang, the Veire-Ifrit, and their Gang Boss, Che Connel.

Citizens of Veire may own their own private cavern, partitioned off in case of flooding by water or magma, or for security and privacy. These private caverns can be as small as a dozen meters for a simple home or as large as several kilometres with lavish gardens and heated mineral lakes, with huge sun-simulating artificial lights.

Although smaller in population than most Hive Worlds, Veire produces an array of goods to be self-sufficient. From mining tools - such as converted and upscaled Melta guns - to weaponry, made to outfit the troops stationed there.

Veire is currently - after the last census - home to some 2,000,000,000 citizens.
*Number is estimated to be much larger
>>
>>90022078

Military forces of Veire
-----------------------------------------------
Veire is host to a large garrison, consisting of the following;
The Twin Titans, two Imperator-class Titans, each patrolling one of the great spires.
A huge amount of Enforcers, armed somewhat well.
A massive amount of part-time Militia, armed somewhat well.
A huge planetary defence force, the VDF, armed somewhat well.
A huge armoured force, armed somewhat well.
A small Private Military, only used by the North Spire as a visual deterrent, armed poorly.
A massive force of the Imperial Navy, very well armed.

*The large garrison on Veire has led some to believe it has been making the change from Hive World to Fortress World.

Factional Influence of Veire.
-----------------------------------------------
Ministorum: The most powerful and influential presence on the planet
Inquisition: A major presence
Administratum: A notable presence
Arbites: A small presence
Astra Telepathica: A small presence
Astronomica: Minor, almost none
Mechanicus: Minor, almost none

The Ministorum of Veire - and furthermore the Dioces, headed by Cardinal Astral Yonnac - being the largest presence on the planet, enforces a grip on the daily lives of Veire's citizens. Prayers, hymns, tenets, litanies, and the Imperial Creed are piped from pole to pole around the planet from the lowest tunnels to the top of the Spires.

Championing the Ministorum is the Order of the Lightning Lady - headed by Canoness Superior Serephina. The Order is newly founded, their Preceptory having only 400 battle sisters. But due to their close relationship with the Mechanicus of the Forge-Moon Al-Malleator, electoos and electrografts have been installed in the Sisters, allowing them to harness electricity, as their Lady does.

Might want to add in on their view/depiction of the God emperor as the lord of lightning in the ministorum part. Or is that gonna be an overall thing to be noted for the system itself?
>>
>>90022118
I'm not quite done with it, I'll add that in now. This is just for a Veire world overview, I'll do a larger Vei System overview next with all the eccentricities of the various factions - the Ministorum as a whole, the sister order, and the Mechanicus of the Forge-Moon - to tie in to those parts. Maybe a religion of the Phrax too, those unclean must believe in something other than scavenging ships. Maybe some link to the Eldar, I'm unsure.

If anyone has anything to add, please do. The more off-shoots, branches, and little stories the world has the better. And it gives me something to steal descriptions from.
I still need to do a "life of the average citizen in the underhive tunnels of Veire" section, and several others.
Things might be slow as I'm phoneposting

>Dark Eldar currently not betray Craftworld Exarch
>Craftworld currently not betraying an Inquisitor
So is Farseer working with the Inquisitor to militarize Vei to prepare for whatever external threat is lurking in the Ghoul Stars. While the Exarch wants mutual destruction of the mon'keigh and the unfortold threat. He's hoping the Kabal will ensure that Vei won't get too dangerous for the Craftworld
>>

Amusingly, the Craftworld were rolled as having their major enemy be Dark Eldar.
They could be playing both sides, knowing that if they give either exactly what they want, they lose any hard reason to be diplomatic with them?

The only reason we didn't roll the two moons up is because I don't think there's a table for the Xenos planets. We could just roll them as usual and substitute the Imperium stuff, like the troop types and any ecclesiarchy/inquisition/admech presence, for more xeno inspired stuff. Or just leave those parts blank and roll the rest of the planet. We could also roll the cold and hot World's on the Phrax side of the Veil as being their planets. I believe the rolls in thread 1 had them being uninhabitable. But that sort of stops the fun so I guess that's left for us to decide
>>90029280
I think Corak would have a vastly different interpretation of the lightning lord, being a feudal World that rarely gets visitors and has no permanent presence of Imperium on it.
The admech have their own version, as an anon described in an earlier thread
The sisters of battle order seem to believe it slightly differently also
And I imagine Veire has several sects of the sect of the lightning lord, we could go as deep as we wanted with that lore, none of it has to make sense because it's just interpretation of an already strangely interpreted religion, of an interpretation of the imperial cult
Of course for a bit of drama, we could have some of these sects fighting each other in a mini holy war. Or believers of only the Imperial cult version, and not this new lightning lord, proclaiming it heresy and works of chaos and blah blah.

The Vei System

Ultima Segmentum
Vidar Sector
Anon Subsector
Vei System
(photoshop a map of the system location in the segmentum)

The Vei System is one of contrasts and mysteries. It is defined by the presence of not one, but two dying suns - usually called The Twin Furnaces, or their designations of Al-Moriens, and Al-Ardere - that cast an unforgiving light across the planets within its reach. However, what truly sets the Vei system apart is the impenetrable Veil that slices through the system, separating its celestial bodies into two distinct halves.

The Veil's very nature seems to resist exploration by even the the best ships of the Imperium. As a ship approaches closer to the Veil, they experience inexplicable malfunctions, communication breakdowns, and even abrupt hallucinations and whispers. Storms rage, their energies intermingling in bizarre arcs. Psykers experience heightened states of anxiety, their powers spiralling out of control or becoming dampened to mere whispers.
* "Their bodies convulsed, their veins throbbed as if mirroring the very warp they navigate. Incoherent whispers escaped their lips, half-prophecies and half-mad mutterings that reverberated through the chamber. We were told to continue on course. The patterns of their navigation chamber became a canvas for their psychic turmoil. They traced strange sigils and symbols with their trembling, sweat-soaked hands. That was when I heard them scream. I heard Them scream. They screamed as their third eyes turned from that inky-black to a burning white. I heard Them scream. And just as I could not tolerate any more.. they stopped. I lost track of time after that. After I went blind. After I heard Them. After I seen Them. I didn't hear Them again."
- Pict-Recording of a surviving Navigator bodyguard, shortly before his death on the Mechanicus Explorator ship - Omnissiah's Will.
>>
>>90030488
While the Veil has so far not been crossed, it is not thought to be a rift into the warp. No daemonic entities have been seen to manifest on any ships that have travelled too close. It should be noted that the Veil has been observed to be shrinking in some places, and - while in the presence of explosives or engine use - expanding in others. Research into this phenomenon has been slow.

Beyond the Veil lies the worlds of Al-Calidum, Al-Duratus, and Al-Externus - home to a Xenos race known as the Phrax. These salvagers sift through the wreckage and debris of the nearby starship graveyard, hidden deep in the Veil. Their small stature belies their resourcefulness, as they adapt and cobble together old technology from a variety of races. How they became capable of space travel is so far a mystery as the Phrax society is believed to be built upon a foundation of recycling and reclamation.

The Phrax measure from 50-80 centimeters in length. Their appearance remains unknown as they are always armoured from head to toe, but the general consensus is that they are similar to a rat or lizard type animal, judging by the long claws they use to manipulate their weapons. A mixture of bipedal and quadrupedal. The Phrax are - on the few occasions they have been encountered - been seen with an array of armour and weapons. Varying from pistols similar to the Eldar shuriken pistol, to small spears capable of emitting blasts of super-heated plasma. It is unknown where these weapons originate from, and what tactics they employ in battle.
*Note for /tg/, I don't want to shoehorn my own idea of the species in, so I've kept it to what previous anons have said. I do however think they're somewhat like the kig-yar/jackals from halo.
>>
>>90030501
The Phrax ships - while they don't follow a standard pattern - are always small in size. Some being observed to be just 6 meters long, to a maximum of 178 meters long. All Phrax ships - regardless of size - seem to be capable of traversing the Veil. It is currently unknown how, as none of their craft have been captured as they remain deep inside the Veil observing our ships.
*A derelict STC Defence Station of unknown class or age has been observed through scans of the system, orbiting the planet of Al-Calidum on the far side of the Veil - this also provides a possible explanation to their technology.

On the other side of the veil, the Imperium of Man ----------------------------------

My apologies for not putting this in a pastebin - as it's currently unfinished - but I believe this is a good baseline. I just need to describe the Imperium, the local religions, the planet classes/populations that are in the system map. Any anon please feel free to add to this, especially the Phrax descriptions, and ship descriptions as I didn't want to shoehorn my idea of them in.

>The Church of the Lightning Lord.
>Founded in the [ERROR] system, Ghoul stars, Ultima Segmentum {additium: Imperium Nihilus}.
>Added to catelogue of the Holy Scriptorum of the Adeptus Ministorum on the year 549, M37.
>Ecclesiarch Ario Decio Sigvald Sebastian Marcharius, attached to the Halo Stars Crusade during the age of Redemption, writes the following.
"The Church of the Lightning lord, seems to date its official derivation from orthodoxy, back to the time of the Nova Terra Interregnum of M36. Influenced by the machine cult of mars, which holds considerable sway over the system, as well as more conventional local distortions of faith, bought on by cultural isolation, environmental exposure, differences in priorities and interpretation of aspects of reality worthy of association with the almighty God Emperor of mankind.
In effect, it is not dissimilar to the common trend of sun-worship, that we often find on isolated worlds, associating the Emperor beneficent with the radiance of their local star.
In this instance, however, we see a slightly more nuanced interpretation.
The people of Veire do not love their twin suns. Their system is cursed by anomalous stellar complications, making entering and exiting the system monumentally difficult (but not impossible, to my great relief). However, with the influence of the aforementioned cult of mars, their impressively high technology society, the impressively unpleasant surface conditions of their world, they attribute the Emperor to the aspect of raw energy itself.
"The Lightning Lord" they call him.
Some of my studies allude that this is meant to represent his role as the great animus of the galaxy. That it is the Emperor that gives life, motion, energy. Others, seem to indicate the prevailing interpretation of the title is one of power. For what show of energy is more powerful than a lightning bolt, eh?
>>
>>90033341
This interpretation is not too concerning in its own right. Indeed, there are fragmentary records indicating its use in official heraldry or religious illuminations. But its frequency and cultural significance, over traditional symbols, is of concern. Many depictions of Him feature lightening bolts, typically in his hand, or around his form. Some of which replace Aquila. Even some of their weapons seem designed to effect the imagery of lightning when they discharge, some of which are seen as religious spectacles.
Of note, there are some within the clergy that assert these major transitional differences came about after a campaign against a heretical cult, and that these martian idiosyncrasies and local antidoxies are a result of such opposition. However I was unable to find sufficient corroboration of this in my brief stay.
In regards to the topic of official sanction of their interpretation, I am undecided. Their people are a deeply faithful lot. Their religion is something deeply important to them, as much as their battle readiness or their duty, unlike many distal worlds of the Imperium who are tragically impious.
However, their deviations cannot be overlooked. The mechanicus cult shows severe influence in the system, and its interpretation of gospel, and there is a concerning streak of... openness, that can lead to dark places. Their faith and their conviction is strong. But that faith sits too much in the space between denomination and heresy.
While I am vastly disinclined to believe the people of the Vei system would ever conscience turning from his light, willing or forced, and thus are not an immediate concern, I would recommend to the Synod on Ophelia, that any new formed ministorium bodies be stationed there, to provide counter-influence to the red cult.

There was one description of the Phrax in the Fahil writefaggotry, but it was way moer how they acted rather them their appearance.

So basically, house Solan are in the house of Lords (who act as figureheads or sovereign icons), not the house of Commons (who're actually the ones involved in the day-to-day running of the world).
>>
>>90038062
Yeah, the sister is trying to discover how the Phrax can travel through the Veil, while the brother, who is the current house head, is still trying to run for elections.
>>
>>90038657
I tried to stick to the Fahil posts, I was going to add the part about them being barely kept in check by their officers but I haven't found a way to fit it in yet. I wanted them to be excitable and swarm-like which I don't think I added. I also only chose the larger size of 50-80cm as I wanted them to be able to use some kind of eldar weapon to add a subtle link between them. I wrote out a description of them having castes, some haired like rats, some scaled like lizards, and some with a carapace, all different colours and some with dyed motley hair and markings. But I didn't want to take them over without consensus - hence the no description and them always armoured head to toe. I wrote the description from the Imperium point of view, and if they really knew what they looked like they'd have samples of them, likely their ships, and I'd have to remove the cool detail about them being the only ones (known currently) that can traverse the Veil. It was too difficult to wrap around in a believable way. Unless we add a footnote of a description from someone in House Solan's entourage that has seen them. Maybe found pict-recorder footage of a battle on a ship that disappeared. Then we'd be able to believably have an accurate description of both their appearance and tactics.
None of this is final and I'm fine with people changing any or all details, I just wanted some framework written down for the page.
>>
>>90030501
>>90030513
Based on what I see, they could be a vaguely psychic race, with their weapons and spaceships being less technology, and more applied action via innate psychic ability. This explains their ability to cross what is impassable to the Imperium, and why some of their better guns are just short spears.

Al-Vivus

Location: Orbiting Hive World Veire
Designation: Agri-Moon
Population: 52
Imported population: 399,260 (300,000 servitors, 99,260 labourers)
Unaccounted labourers: 740

Al-Vivus is split into 52 sectors. Some of the savanna sectors are home to a large Grox and Horn-head population, while others produce crops of wheat and corn. In the swamp sectors - rice is farmed. In the moors - large clusters of bilberries are gathered. Skyscraper high cultivexariums that produce the famous Veivian Banana cover the moon in clusters.
*Cultivexariums are large vertical farming towers with dozens of floors - usually hundreds of meters high.

The most common foodstuff for the average imperial citizen in the Vei system is the Veivian Banana. Grown in the huge cultivexariums, this fruit is hardy, flavourless but can grow even in nutrient poor soil and grows from a seed to a ripe fruit in a matter of weeks; perfect for industrial scale farming. The fruit itself is similar in size to the ancient Terran banana, but instead of the vibrant yellow, it has a dark purple exterior that borders on brown when ripe. The flesh of the fruit is tough with a similar texture to ground up grox meat, but is very filling. The fruit is turned into everything from nutrient paste, canned, dried, or even shipped out raw in large stasis containers to be served to the more affluent members of regular imperial citizenry.

The bilberries harvested from the moors are used to make the lesser-known Veivian Bluemoor. A wine with a delicate balance of acidity and sweetness, it is enjoyed by citizens sector-wide.
>>
>>90046273
The fields of Al-Vivus echo with the mechanical hum of servitors tending to crops and livestock. Imported labourers - lucky enough to be drawn from the nearby planets of Çorak and Veire - toil restlessly but thank The Lightning Lord for his mercy for being allowed a short respite from their homeworlds. Factories dedicated to crop refinement and meal preparation churn out nutrient-rich slurry and packaged meals, available to all in the Vei system.

The air is usually thick with the scent of synthetic fertilizers and the acrid tang of machine lubricants from the servitors and the Titan-sized harvesters.

The imported labourers live in cramped habblocks scattered over the moon in the 52 sectors - their existence a cycle of labour and rest, with little room for individuality or autonomy.
*Contentment levels amongst these workers are noted to be markedly higher than the average worker, however, discontentment levels are noted to be markedly higher after their work cycle has ended and they return to their homeworld.

Agri-Servitors are programmed with an extensive database of plant species and growth patterns, enabling them to adapt to different crops and environments. They possess a degree of autonomy, able to make decisions based on data analysis and respond to changing conditions. Their bodies are often equipped with specialized attachments, scythes, sprayers, fertilizers, scanners for pest detection, and even gentle instruments for delicate procedures like pollination. Their limbs whir and click as they tend to crops, slaughter the Grox and Horn-heads, and maintain the sprawling machinery that sustains the moon's production.
*Some workers have been known to hide themselves when their work-cycle has ended in order to stay on the planet. These workers have banded together into small gangs, - some targeting the factories for processed food in acts of piracy, while others are surviving by foraging.
>>
>>90046304
Despite its utilitarian purpose, Al-Vivus is not without its own brand of beauty. Vast golden fields stretch out to the horizon on the savannas. The moors are rich with birdsong and insects. However, over the entire moon the rhythmic symphony of machinery provides a backdrop to the labourers' chants and the prayers of the tech-priests.

Note for /tg/
I'm finding it very difficult to explain away the population of only 52. I tried explaining that the 52 are members of the family of the elected dictator, I tried explaining that tech priests would live off world and only come when needed but no matter how I write it I can't find a good reason for the population. I counted 300k servitors as imported non-permanent workers also, which I don't think makes sense as they're specialised. That part I'm struggling on - the rest I believe is decent.

I'm still away for a few days, so I'll try and sort the 1d4 page when I get back if it isn't done by then. It's awkward to handle on phone or I'd do it now.

>I'm finding it very difficult to explain away the population of only 52
It's simple, 52 overseers for 52 sectors who live full time on their planet, and make sure that their sectors meet the quota set by the Administratum, note that they can (and probably have) outsourced it to some servitor, or some off the books scribe who reside in their estate.
>>
>>90046339
>>90046499
Another explaination. A natural disaster devastated the population so they’ve turned to using servitors for work
>>
>>90046339
>Population of only 52.
This >>90046499 is pretty good imo. Add to it the somewhat trend of under-reporting numbers, and it seems fine enough.
>52 Overseers for 52 sectors. The tech adepts aren't counted as they come on a contractual basis. The servitors and servo skulls aren't counted because they're servitors. The rotating populations of seasonal workers don't count because they're only there for the harvest season, then leave.

Life on Veire is not merely hard. It's surface rains fire and lightning, and swelters at 300C on a good day.
Life on Veire is much like life on a spaceship. Everything is sealed and artificial. Everything is advanced and developed. While indeed, the world is arguably one of the safer, and healthier worlds to live in in the Imperium, much less in the Halo Stars, this lack of access to nature and natural events or resources can induce a form of psychological disorder, sometimes jokingly referred to as "Cavern fever", with ranging severities from fatigue and detachment, to mania and claustrophobia.

Additionally, Al-Vivus, being overtaken by farmlands and agricultural development, lacks the infrastructure to support a permanent population of farmhands. Some sectors report basic and cramped hab blocks, while others report their workers camp in the fields, as much as within temporary quarters.

Given these two facts, as well as the near constant traffic between the moon and the local orbiting bodies, almost all stations on Al-Vivus are designed to be rotational. This allows for individuals of all stripes and backgrounds the chance to take a temporary posting. Workers, priests, tech adepts, scribes, administratum adepts, waitstaff, orderlies, doctors, medicae, and even garrison troops.
However, to save on a truly enormous amount of paperwork, these transitory workers are not counted under the official population count.
This reduces the hypothetical pop count from ~100,000 (~400,000 when counting servitors), down to 52.
These are the members of the Highborn House do we have anything on these guys yet. Each member holds the rank of Overseer for a sector of the moon. Given their position, they are the only population considered to be permanent residents of the Moon.

Okay anons just a heads up, I (cartographeranon) am home - sunburnt and dehydrated and dying - and setting up the 1d4chan page now. I've set up part of it (unpublished) so I can get a proper skeleton to it so I can open it for everyone to add to afterwards. I've also never done this before so things may be messy at times.

Did we come up for a name for the eldar craftworld?
Where are the deldar, I know I didn't add them in system map, are they in-system?
What are the names of any local people of note that I haven't added?

I'm not finished with the main page, but are there any things people think I should add specifically?

Good to be back
I was still lurking
we need:
a name and backstory for House Solan's ruler
a name and backstory for the elected dictator of Al-Vivus
a backstory for the world of corak and its rulers looking through thread 2 I found
>73-81 Religious (Ministorum): Live for the Emperor, Work for the Emperor, die for the Emperor. The Ecclesiarchy, the state church or the Imperium of Man, functions as the planet's government, making sure everybody, top to bottom, follows their branch's interpretation of the Imperial Creed. Or at least aren't spouting HERESY!! Likely to host an Adepta Sororitas Order Militant and multiple Orders Non-Militant.
so that opens it up a lot.
I'd like there to be a main "leader" of the planet, or a group of rulers other than just the church so we can reference them in the People of Note section on the 1d4chan page
more eldar lore to tie them to the Pharx, if that's the way we're going with them

Also I made
>>90005022
in the last thread as an idea of the iconography of the lightning lord, but I'd like to touch it up to look better. If anyone has any ideas throw them out and I'll try it
ANY writefaggotry is welcome right now so we can start filling out the page now it's up. So if anyone has an idea little or large, throw it out and it'll be added
Also I archived the thread, I seen it get close to dropping off a few times and don't want to lose what we've got already.
We could also roll up the two moons orbiting the Pharx moon, giving them more substance, and just swapping out the Imperium stuff for weird xeno stuff

I'll let more people contribute to house Solan, given their importance to the setting.
My rough ideas were
>House Patriarch. Old and incredibly wealthy dude. Has wealth, trophy women and lives lavishly, but due to the nature of Veire, doesn't flat out flaunt it like Highborn on other worlds. Big spender, dresses smartly, mostly keeps to himself and house affairs, letting his progeny handle the public, is only a bit of a dick if he doesn't get his way.
>House Matriarch. First wife of Patriarch. Significant due to relationship, but of minor actual political importance.
But that's just vague recollections from past threads, plus lazy trope inserts, so I'll let someone who was actually involved in making Solan take over.

Though I've got some basic ideas down for the Dictator of Al-Vivus. How does the following sound?
>House Avena, of Al-Vivus.
>Predecessors recognized the bargaining value of control of the only planetoid in the system, known for the production of food on large scale.
>Currently keep their power over the place by way of exchanging goods for services with the rest of the Vei system, and the tacit understanding that they will smash control hubs, erase data, and genuinely damage so much ancient agricultural infrastructure on their way out, that it's really not worth it.
>Also, as the moon has been run by the family for generations on generations, they're actually pretty talented farmers.
>Of note, the planetoid is not actually owned by House Corpeum, though it is run and overseen by them. However, given the relative isolation the house enjoys from general affairs, the general lack of contesting powers on the moon, and its constant involvement in near all matters pertaining to Al-Vivus, they are rulers in all but name.
>Current Dictator is the revered high overseer Marlock Avena, a man of considerable girth and not one who much likes needing to leave one of his personal estates, much less have to travel to Veire.
>>

cont.
>House secession is ostensibly meritocratic. However the reality tends to show that this courtesy is only extended to the reigning Dictator's direct lineage, and only in cases of extreme incompetence, or foul play, have the reigns of succession been taken to more distant members of the family.
>The current Dictator, high Overseer Marlock Avena, is considered politically amicable. Though not without the common character trends of a governor of an Agri world, namely a remarkable talent for gluttony, womanizing, and sulking if he doesn't get his way at things, he's prudent, generous to his staff, and open to improvements and agreements with other Imperial bodies in the system.
>As of current, there are three potential heirs to his station, with the most prominent seemingly being Meladia Avena, Overseer of sector 3, and his daughter.
I only half jokingly post picrel.
>>
>>90062357
>>90063366
I'll add that to their lore later along with the fat bastard picture because it made me chortle

there's a small baseline/recap of Veire I made last week
>Just getting out the basics on the page, before formatting it or anything.
it's all new to me, never set up/edited a page before I'm still getting used to the formatting - so no worries. I was taking ideas from a similar 1d4chan page - Tiji Sector - for formatting. I'd probably have given up if I didn't have that to base it off of.

I'm trying to write up a small description of a gang/pirate/revolutionary leader discussed in
>>90046304
>Some workers have been known to hide themselves when their work-cycle has ended in order to stay on the planet. These workers have banded together into small gangs, - some targeting the factories for processed food in acts of piracy, while others are surviving by foraging.
and that gave me a good baseline to work off of

Also I tried to find/edit a good picture for the Pharx for almost 2 hours earlier, 1d4chan wants the pictures you upload to be your own creation (not sure how lenient on that they are) so I can't just rip off picrel of the kig-yar I might just anyway, but it's 90% what I picture them to look like

I fell asleep

Lord Ebrah Al-Solan - The previous patriarch of house Solan and it's founder, he was known as an incredibly popular and charismatic figure. He won repeatedly won every election for governorship of the northern spire, formed a political block in the house of nobles and had successfully brokered deals with the house of commons for centuries. He was know how to tow the line between a populist and a reactionary. After his death, there were movements to try and proclaim him as a saint, however house Solan's decline and the influence of both the ministorum and the sobs quickly put down the suggestions.

Lady Karliah Al-Solan – A noble daughter from another family, she was married to Ebrah after his initial rise to power, as an attempt to curry favor and curb a potential newcomer. However, she ended up using her guile and cunning to help his rise his career even further through less legal means, improving her life in the process. She is currently suffering from dementia, but some say that it all may just be another act…

Lord Asaq Al-Solan - The youngest son of the house, he inherited the leadership of the house due to it's ultimogeniture tradition. However, he was merely a month old when his father died, and was not properly raised to inherit the position. He has caused plenty of scandals, both political and personal, which ruined the reputation his father had built, and made so he failed to be elected for any position. He still tries to enter the race, but as long as he does not change, the outcome will be the same.
>>
>>90065059
Madam Seffy Al-Solan - The solan oldest daughter, she was the one that was meant to inherit the position. She was educated in sciences by contacts the Solans had with the more radical members of the mechanicus. She also was taught in all manner of subterfuge by her mother. Instead of challenging her brother for his position, or in any other way removing him, she chose to continue a secret project her father had started: to discover how the Phrax traversed through the Veil.

Captain Fahil - Not a house member, but a sort of attaché. He is the leader of the house guard, or whatever is left of it. A veteran of the group, he has a lot of experiences with both security and more underhanded missions. Deeply loyal to the house and the legacy of Ebrah, which he blames Asaq for ruining.

>>90062357
I don't have anything against what you wrote for house solan, but some of it clashes with what I had written in the Fahil story.
Maybe we can reuse it for the dictator of mining world?

One thing I noticed on the 1d4chan page; and that’s if you klick on the Eldar links you will get Phrax. Not sure if that’s just an error of if that page will expand in the future.
>>
>>90075016
You're right, must have been an oversight when I was making the page. I added two Phrax descriptions on two different pages. I did want to only have the Phrax have their own "main" page, and since the eldar and deldar aren't as fluffed out, give them a "minor xenos in the system" page. Fixing it now
>>
>>90075016
I fixed that by doing as I said, and giving the Phrax their own page and moving the Eldar/Deldar to a shared minor species of Veire page.
Also did most of the Çorak page, I think I got all of the lore from the 5 threads.
I edited most of the planet pages to get them consistent, so information just needs to be put in and people don't need to worry about formatting

>Subject: The Praetorian Lance Incident -[DATE: 4145561.M40]-

This is a summary of the larger report located at [REDACTED], of the events that unfolded in the middle of M40 in orbit around Forge Moon Al-Malleator.
A ship had been able to be towed from the ship graveyard that lingers in the Vei system like a blemish. The ship in question was the Light Cruiser designated as the Praetorian Lance. A ship that been thought lost since the waning years of the great heresy. The cost for reaching the ship, and not mention towing the vessel back through the veil had been costly, both in material, men and time, but the Magos overseeing the operation was quoted to say that it was a 'Calculated risk'. The ship itself seemed to be intact with only a few outer hull breaches and only superficial damages to the inner workings, yet the ship laid dormant. The Magos and his retinue of techpriests and Enginseers began working on the ship even while on route back to the shipyards of Al-Malleator, hoping to save time by restoring some of the workings of the ship before reaching port, an attempt to gain favor among his peers was the most probably cause.
The incident occurred only at the first hour after reaching the orbit of Al-Malleator, when the Magos finally managed to unseal the main cogitator of the ship, what happened next would leave a stain on Al-Malleator for the foreseeable future.

I made a thing for our Inquisitor.
>>
>>90078755
As the magos hit the activation rune his body went stiff and his mind blank, for what they had done was to unleash a sealed away data-package of Scrapcode, for the first minute all of those aboard with extensive augmentations suffered the same fate as the magos, with their bodies rebelling against them, shutting down or twisting itself and the wearer into impossible angles.
The true horror came upon the forge moon when the scrapcode connected to the Noosphere; suddenly all ships in orbit began to malfunction. Some ships just went dead, while others veered of course and some fired weapons blindly. A moment later the Manufactorums and Hab Blocks that sat directly perpendicular to the ship in orbit were the first to be affected, all workers, magos and servitors all suffering a gruesome fate.
Luckily the tech adepts monitoring the Noosphere has been quick to act, as they managed to isolate the scrapcode, by sacraficing and puring that entire section of the Noosphere, forcing the code back into the mainframe of Praetorian Lance, who was subsequently vaporized by the Forge Moon's defenses, until the ship was just a burning lump of steel chunks and scrap.
An investigation was launched to calculate what had happened by the Mechancus of Al-Malleator; the tally of lost "assets" from this blunder were nearly a million souls all those within that Noosphere section had to be purged when the scrapcode infested them all, not mention the loss in production itself.

>2/3
>>
>>90078775
In the end the flight logs could be salvaged from those ancient logs it was found that the ship had been infected with scrapcode after a skrimish with traitor forces, a code that laid dormant until the moment passed the threshold into the Immaterium where it wrecked havoc on the ship before causing it to end up in the far reaches of the Ghoul Stars before finally getting caught in the gravity well of the twin stars of Vei.
This incident is the reason for the extreme caution by the Adeptus Mechanicus to bring back ships from beyond the veil without doing at least a thrice scan and extensive investigations to safeguard against any and all dangers.

Who (or what) should our Inquisitor have in his close retinue? Obviously excepting requisitioned troops or ships.

Nice anon. I think them being able to traverse the Veil can be explained by the date difference between then and "now". Ship movement (the massive fleet in-system) has stirred up the Veil again, causing it to grow back over the spaceship graveyard. I like the addition.
>>90083425
An anon in thread 3
>>89978800
suggested an Eldar Farseer. May be farfetched to believe they would just hang out on an imperial ship, but the inquisitor IS being manipulated by them, so I guess it isn't out of the realms of possibility. Probably one of those psykers from Çorak, all hopped up on that Spook drug - probably Beta grade, because why not.. The Culexus, obviously. Probably a few new pupils, sort of a "don't put all your eggs in one basket" thing. As for who else as part of his retinue I'm not sure.
For his ship however.. obviously bright and gaudy - as befitting his station. All golds and marble. More like a penthouse in vegas than a relay vessel.
>>
>>90084464
In thread 2 when we rolled the guardsmen, they were:
>Navy Armsmen: Experts in void-combat, they'll defend the ship or take the enemy's.
>Priesthood: This Regiment is comprised of those who venerate the God-Emperor in his soldier aspect.
>Punishment/Redemption: Recruits are gathered from the dregs of society, or as a punishment for past sins.
>Core regiment unit :Recruited from the deeper levels of the Hive, Regiments of Underhivers are often comprised of an eclectic mix of outcast scum, gangsters, and desperate civillians. What they lack in discipline, they make up for in savagery and resourcefulness.
>Infantry Regiment: Large groups of on-foot infantry of all stripes comprise the core of this Regiment's forces. Who needs vehicles when you've enough bodies to drown the enemy? Can also be referred to as Line Infantry or Medium Infantry.
>Lightning Strike: They specialise in hitting their enemies hard and fast, decimating the foe before they have any opportunity to react.
>Unorthodox: Serve the Emperor in ways frowned upon by most in the Administratum/Ministorum. This can vary from worshipping the Emperor in an unusual fashion (e.x.: as the Omnissiah), or the regiment adopting unusual tactics.
>Rare Heavy Weapon: The regiment has access to some rare weapon that the rest of the Guard lacks, like heavy plasma cannons or more esoteric devices such as grav-guns.
>Regiment Creed: Best of the Best: The regiment believes itself to be elite and constantly strives to prove itself.
>Rising Stars: Well-known in Sub-Sector, known in Sector, obscure in neighboring Sectors
>Regiment Friends: Officio Assassinorum
>Regiment Enemies: Eldar
If there's a guardsman variant of centurion armour, these guys have it. And the inquisitor probably has a few of these guys on his ship too.
also for picrel, does our inquisitor wear jorts? Y? N?
>>
>>90084504
He can have an accountant/administratum scribe that goes by the name of Jort
>>
>>90084545
That works, I like it.
Also I noticed someone named an Eldar already on the inquisitors page

Arlynn Caenroth(?)
An Eldar Ranger of Taibhse Aigéin. Though the craftworld, in their dealings with the Inquisitor Lord, often have representatives or advisers on his close staff, it is Arlynn Caenroth whom is most commonly found alongside him.
The name works and I like the little bit of lore.
Do we think he's outright about his dealings with the Eldar on his ship and all of the crew accept it (or are brainwashed, possibly by the eldar too)? Or are they squirrelled away in some sectioned off part of the ship and the crew think they're just helping a "normal" inquisitor?
>>
>>90084464
>obviously bright and gaudy - as befitting his station. All golds and marble
He is an OG giggachad of an Inquisitor, even before considering his role in the Vei system.
>Walks around in ornate Tactical Dreadnought armour.
>Because it's also some of the most advanced man portable equipment for information processing, and he especially finds use in that in his duties.
>Effects an awesome pimp cane. It's not only an award of status from one of his multiple lordships, but it's also a convenient weapon that people don't often remove.
>Loved by Guard and Navy for being cool and having a background with them.
>>90084504
>Rare heavy weapon.
As befits the world with some of the highest tech development in the imperium, orbited by a forge moon.
>>90084814
That was me. I knew there was an Eldar in there, the rest was made from there.
I might add a second eldar to his expanding retinue then, as I imagine they tend to come and go, as he gives them duties.
>Is he outright about his dealings.
I imagine so. He's come out as a fairly honest, rational head for an Inquisitor.
The crew don't like it. If it was anyone else they'd probably rebel. But they're willing to trust him and go along with the diplomatic plan, grudgingly.
>>
>>90085008
Update before bed.
I have added a psyker, an adept, a Farseer, and some more writing.
I've been deliberately using either female or androgenous names (except for Jort, obviously) for his retinue so far, to lean more into the gigachad pimp/ anime harem meme.
Thought for the day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUXILNLAo68&list=WL&index=57
>>
>>90085321
I was picturing him as just sort of an over the top gaudily dressed (but otherwise "normal") inquisitor, but after that video yeah I think lean into that heavily. His ornate robes are lined with extinct species, he probably has a pimp cane with a hidden power rapier, the whole deal. He's 150 years old and a Lord Baron, I don't think anything is out of the realms of possibility with him.

Adept Jort
>An Adept of the Veire Administratum, reserve Lieutenant in the 'Paper Pushers (needs link)', and seconded to the service of Inquisitor Lord Baron Riccard Von Corvin. He has particular tastes in clothes that some question.
I'm sure Jort is having a hell of a time
Alicia
>May or may not see him as a father figure. Or a daddy figure.
Eyodewynn Kwynna
>She and Alicia are not permitted to remain in the same room together, unsupervised.
l-lewd

Eyodewynn Kwynna sounds sort of Welsh. Welsh space elves, I shudder at the thought, but if you wanted to give her more of a personal backstory I'm sure there's some weird Welsh folklore you could pull from for a bit of interesting fluff.
I'm trying to come up with a new type of weapon that the sisters of The Order of the Lightning Lady can use, anyone got any ideas? I was thinking sort of a chain glaive and bouche shield. I picture their weapons as being electrified, but not necessarily throwing lightning around themselves. They've got some type of deal going with the electro-priests of the admech of Al-Malleator and they've already got electoos and cybernetic grafts to channel lightning, but I don't think chain weapons suit their style, and I can't give them ALL power spears, even if the sisters are best suited for close-combat.
I'll make a page for the lesser known factions of Vei - like the Paper Pushers, and one for our (unnamed?) guard reginment.

It wouldn't surprise me if stories about the Thunder Warriors during the unification of earth inspired part of the creed of the Lighting Lord.

Though about the white scars passing by, but it's kind of a forced connection, other then them having a lighting strike as their symbol.

Thought, not though.
It's late here.

Well looking at a map of the Great Crusade, Nostramo was near the Ghoul Stars and those marines had a lightning motiff...

>Hymn singing battle priest guardsmen.
>High Imperial tech world.
>Not-Centurion armour.
Just need some biological augmentations, and you've basically got yourself some space marines.
I'm imagining some full band of warrior brothers, that compete with deeds or feats of legend.

Good work songanon.
I'm trying to place the tune in my head. It's a fast paced marching tune of some kind, I think it's Napoleonic era.
any chance of something more like a repeating dirge? A lot of battle-songs historically were used for timing and coordination in a fight, like shanties on a ship.

>Veire was originally brought into compliance by Night Lords during the Great Crusade
>System is forgotten about
>Gets rediscovered
>They’re praising lightning angels and the Thunder Lord
>Ordo Redactus realize that they’re praising Night Lords
>Begin revising and censoring their history to be less heretical

>They're either getting many of their themes of worship from the Night Lords and their lightning motif.
>Or the Emperor's Lightning motif and Thunder Warriors from pre-Imperium times.
>The former makes the more sense, as this area was historically where the legion operated.
>The latter would much more closely match their current beliefs and use of symbology.
>The fact that the Ordo Redactus doesn't know what exposed secret and subsequent potential sedition risk they're reeeee-ing over, just makes it worse.

I actually meant it to be less of the guardsman song and more of a common hymn of Vei
THIS is supposed to be the marching/battle song for them, to the tune of

It isn't exact but you get the rhythm of it if you start reading at 0:08 in the video

this was what it was based on, but it speeds up too much to get a good handle of how the rhythm would go and I thought hearts of oak as an instrumental sounded better

uh oh, sounds like F̶U̶N̶!̶ heresy!

I think the not-centurion armour would be pretty rare, its way scaled down (guardsman size) and the whole system only has maybe a few dozen? sets, I can't see them all being outfitted in it. Boarding teams, a few of the Inquisitors armsmen. I know we didn't roll a rare armour type but its cool, so cool wins.
We rolled this though
>Rare Heavy Weapon: The regiment has access to some rare weapon that the rest of the Guard lacks, like heavy plasma cannons or more esoteric devices such as grav-guns.
I wonder what that could be

British Grenadiers.

That actually works for

much better than the two I posted. I suppose anything with a drum beat of the right cadence and tempo could work. Not sure what to call it as we don't have a name for the guardsmen. The Vei Battlehymn? March of the Veivian Guard?

It explains the constant inquisition presence, other then the veil and the xenos, of course.
Maybe there is an active effort to try and change all the references to the night lords to the thunder warriors.

Part of me kind of wants that the holy rock from this ended up in the system somehow https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Church_of_the_Lightning_Stone , just to increase the amount of seething that the Emperor experiences daily in his Golden Throne.
But I think it would be too much, makes the religion feel like some super special OC.

these pesky tech-priests are augmenting the sister order AND outfitting the guardsman regiment with cool gadgets
>>90100107
Yeah maybe a bit too much, but we can create some type of holy relic
We're not far from falling off, I think next thread we should roll up the two other Phrax moons, and possibly (reroll) the Hot and Cold worlds so they're habitable, and see if the Phrax have any friends on their side of the Veil, or if they control the Hot and Cold planets themselves.
I found picrel on the midjourney discord, isn't exactly what I think the guardsmen are like but I'm not a drawfag so this might be the closest we're going to get

I'm going purely by the fact that they're lower case space marines so probably something more like this than the astra militarum green

There's the old armor from when the imperial guard was the imperial army.

I was trying to think of a name for their armour, Vindicator works so well but sadly already taken. As they're made up of
>Punishment/Redemption: Recruits are gathered from the dregs of society, or as a punishment for past sins.
How about Exoneratum Armour?
Also the top left of the tactical command squad there looks decent, if a bit issac clarke-y. Without the gold trim any maybe not blueberry blue, I think that could work

I present to you all the Vei Pattern Lasgun

>Pattern was approved by the magi in early M37 when resources in the solar system were low and the Fabrictors of Al-Malleator has to adapt to meet the quota for the ever increasing numbers of arms requested.

>The normally used focus lenses of the lasgun were in short supply, so it was modified to use the myriad of blue diodes found in abundance among the usual mineral deposits in the system. Nearly functional identical to a regular Lasgun, but instead of the typical red beam of focused light, it fires a bright blue beam.

>The front barrel was shortened to make it slightly more compact so it could more easily be used by the tunnel dwelling forces of Veire, who are the majority of the people in the Vei System.

>The coloring was inspired from the blue imagery of not only the motive force found in electricity, but also in honor of the Lightning Lord, who is often surrounded by blue light to represent the thunder and lighting that he brings. The green on the underside is to remember the wider Imperium as the Cadian patterns that this stems from all share the very same green coloration.

I just slightly modified the lasgun found here https://www.deviantart.com/leinglo/art/M35-M-Galaxy-Short-Pattern-Lasgun-342600560 Don't accept this as a canon thing for the Vei system if people don't like it, and you're free to further modify it to make it more unique
>>
>>90101072
I like it.
But maybe replace the green with copper, bronze or brass?
