"Where the fuck am I, where the fuck am I, where the fuck am I?" you keep mumbling under your breath, confusedly brushing twigs off your bare butt and legs from your fall. You slow down your breathing and look around, grabbing your junk to hide it from anything in the night time forest, you see around yiou a bunch of brick houses and alleyways, surrounding a small park hidden in the midnght dark, it was warm, and quite a few plants added the heady fragrance of roses in the air.

It had only happened a few seconds ago.
----
-----
You were sitting in your college apartment doing fuck-all in the middle of the night. Your eyes felt heavy and you shut them for seconds, and then you woke up to a fall on leaves and grass, naked as the day you were born.

///////////OUT OF CHARACTER//////////////

You are a naked 18 year old American Male who has just been transported to Highgarden in the Game of Thrones Universe. You, the MC, are currently awakening at the same second Ned Stark recieves word that Jon Arryn is dead. You have full knowledge of the motivations and future uniterferred in outcomes that come to pass, and now you're here at the apex of the greatest decade of turmoil ever seen in Westeros.

> Now then, how do you get clothed?
>>
Personal 'stats' -
Relatively healthy caucasian male at six feet of height, with no significant muscle mass, skinny.
>>
I'm game
>>
>>379810
I have not read/seen GoT. I shall lurk.
>>

>>
All hail the Starkgaryeans! Also Braavos can come because they're cool.

Let's keep in mind that there are other technologies to introduce beyond black powder once we hook up with someone who has a decent manufacturing base, and that a 4chan denizen who read the Safehold or Destroyermen series would be familiar enough with them to be able to explain the concepts to experts. Penicillin is a huge thing that the Maesters will love us for forever,, and proper sailing ships will at the very least guarantee us a comfortable life in Braavos.
>>
>>379810
Go to the nearest house and lie about being robbed or something.

The most important question after being clothed would be, which of them fuckers do I want to win the game?
>>
>>379918
You quickly scramble to the nearest house you can, a small hovel in the garden with a steady flame in a hot campfire outside, a man sat stoking the flames, a few years older than you.

"Please... Uh... Sir? I've been robbed and stripped of my clothes, do you have any I could wear?"

The man stares at you with a blank expression, clearly slightly drunk with the tankard of ale in his left hand nearing empty.
"eh yeah?" The man replies, "and how are you gonna pay me back for those clothes?"

> What do we do?!
>>
>>379944

I'll come up with a plan after we get our clothes
For now we'll be a crazy nutjob if we can't prove we know the future. With this guy humor him about knowing the future like it's a risk he was to take to gain that winning.
>>
>>379944
Don't die on me OP this shit is what I was waiting for.
>>379959

Guys if this plan doesn't work we can go to the temple and be a homeless bagger. Asking for simple clothes and food for the day maybe shelter. Let's keep the knowing the future underwarps that most people doesn't know.

This is a pretty cool quest desu.

I assume we know 21st century agriculture, at least the basics right? how about teaching him some stuff.

As for stats, I reckon we should have 5 in knowledge, and maybe Blood of Heroes as one of our destiny thingies.

"I don't have much... But I do know a way we can both become rich beyond our wildest dreams if you would be so kind as to give me something to cover my balls from the elements, I mean if you wouldn't mind." You say, exasperated as you've got dirt in places they shouldn't, and haven't eaten in a few hours.

The man laughs again "Oh, rich you say?" His chest rises and fallas quickly with laughter, "Sure, kid. Let's get you some clothes and some food for the road. I can't let you stay here though, my wife is surely soon to return, and what would she think if I was dining with a boy? Ahh no. Afraid not. Goodbye."

The fucker shut the door in your face after dropping ratty linen trousers and a rough shirt with tears in several places.

> So the man wasn't interested in much, but all of highgaden can't admire your arse if that brings any comfort, what do you do?

Lets try go down the road to a town..
Maybe theres a sign post

Book but for the interest of dramatic effect I'm pulling an HBO here and bumping the ages of Characters to show standards. ------ Simply because those characters will be boring and in a few cases kinda pedophilic.

Thought we're already in a town? Sign post sounds great! Or we ask another guy: "Where am I?" 'Westeros' "Who is King?" 'Robert' "Who's the Hand of the King?" ... city guard takes us in...

>>380469
understandable!
>>
Trecking down the road your bare feet quickly learn that walking on the soft grasses that make up swaths of pristenly kenpt gardens. It matches your expectations perfectly, a warm summery city with an abundance of plant life and rose imagery. It's Highgarden. Capital of athe Reach, ruled by Mace Tyrell, his heir Loras Tyrell and Margery Tyrell his daughter, and his mother The Queen of Thorns.

Now that you had some what of your decency back you decide to explore more, heading down many twisting roads to get your bearings. Eventually you find a sign that has the cardinal directions on each post, the north pointing to your right.

>>
>>380510
By Westerosi Southern standards you're a very handsome man, but more in the scrawny way Jofferey was considered beautiful, modern technology has done wonders for your body compared to the shit life of peasents and superstisious nobles.

>>380496

Money was the first concern. Money meant food, shelter, potentially a way to get connections. You had a plethora of knowledge that was valuable, but not in your current state. But there always was the potential you had learned something that could help a homeless peasent... Being a guard?

Fighting was never your strong suit. You lean back on a public bench in a small field of golden roses breathing in the night air. This land is beautiful, it was hard to believe so much bloodshed was to come, and you weren't sure if you had much chance or not, surviving considering your past experiences...

> You were quite active in your college years, giving you a much more athletic psyique, but you also tended to spend more time playing video games or playing sports. Resulting in less knowledge about science and the arts, but greater physical strength and health. (You're scrawny but buff, and are set to having a slightly lower than average I.Q of American students, but are considered quite beautiful, with slightly above average social skills)

> You were a whiz at engineering, being an ace student at University for a Dual degree in Mechanical and Chemical Engineering. You didn't do much but study ever since highschool started though, or play games and read. As a result you've become a shy man - very thin but not in the attractive healthy way, but ribs poking out over skinny abdominals. Pale, socially inept, and not the fittest person around, your real benefit here is your brain.

> The Scout - A smart lad with a knack for living in the woods. You were geeky like the rest of your counterparts, but you had a fascination ith the natural world since an early age - leading you to get a degree in Biology and Botany. You know much about Zoology, Botony, Chenistry, and because of your healthy habits you are relatively fit. Meaning you are more middle of the road, good knowledge but not as intensive and applicable as the nerd, but not as much athelticism or attractiveness as the athlete.

> Run of the Mill student, (if thisnoption is voted, I will randomly roll for each 'stat' : athelticism, attractiveness, intellect, social awareness, and health, and create a story to match it. You cannot reject the result. This is to represent random 4chan user)

You smile - it will be good that you've played the part of so many characters in this sort of time era. You quickly think of a good improvisational character, you decide to use your first name "Isaac".

You whisper under your breath, practicing your speech for the captain of the guard as you quietly walk along the streets, watching as the sun finally begins to rise.

Leaning down on a railing, again you are shocked still by the beauty of this place. Miles and miles of fields outsides the two walls of the castle were visible from here - all of it was colored yellow by the golden roses, the symbol of the Tyrells. The sun catches the field in the perfect light, and the blossoms truly seem to be made of solid gold for just a second before the light shifts again, knocking you out of your trance.

You see guards training in the field, and confidently approach the man you identify as the captain.

"Sir, if you would have me for a few seconds I need to make a request for employment." You say as you stand before the tall, helmeted man. His breastplate and greaves were made from a pale yellow metal, and emblazoned on the center were the roses of house Tyrell, a member of the house? No. Just a guard in presumably one of the royal family's personal retinue, and judging by the number of men under him, it's Mace's captain.

"And you, a beggar? What would you provide to the fucking guard boy, you're a little thin for this line of work don't you think?" The captain laughed, putting a hand on your shoulder " I'll give you a couple dragons lads, go buy yourself a loaf of bread and find a place to sleep."

You stare him in the eye with an intensity that visibly shocks him, modern social awareness giving you an audacity these people aren't used to. "No. Sir. I will be a benefit to this guard, I'm smart, I'm quick. You can teach me how to survive in this city and I can be a loyal member of your service. Accept me and train me and I will work damn hard!"

The captain seems pissed, before he tosses you a sword. You react quickly, grabbing the unfamiliar weight of the heavy blade. "Fine. Have it your way boy. ASSUME YOUR STANCE." He barks as he draws his own, longer blade.

You quickly put up some shitty stance because several guards are laughing at you now.

The Captain brings his blade down crashing into yours, some sparks fly as your grip almost loses the blade but you manage to keep hold, he swings again and somehow you manage to block it from the left, and then the right. You're clumsy and tripling over yourself, and you're positive the Captain isn't coming full tilt at you. You block more hits, and get ballsy enough to swing back, the guards laugh harder when they realize you actually made contact with the Captain's hand, forcing him to drop his blade.

The man looked as if he was ready to strangle you on the spot, but as he approached he placed a hand on your shoulder "Welcome beggar boy to the guard of his Lord Paramount Mace Tyrell. Keep the blade, it suits you. I'm Reginald, and you?"

You are having a hard time keeping a confident composure, what with the stinging and numb sword arm you have from trading blows, but you nod your head and extend your right hand, "Isaac." He grips your hand and you almost see the slightest hint of a smile on his face.

"Sir, may I join in on the training?" You ask, straightening your back for better posture. The Captain laughs, agreeing to it but commanding you as the greenhorn to clean the guards armor, clothing, and swords after the practice was finished, but you stood, cursing inwardly but determined to get in the man's good graces.

You grip your blade and join a group of practicing soldiers. Among the small group you joined are 5 other men and boys your age or young by a few years, still adults by any measure here though. A tall man your height named Garett, red haired oddly enough, he seemed like a jovial fellow and you quickly took to his wit, as he seemed popular with the rest of the soldiers.

The others, a short boy covered in muscle of no more than 14 name-days, Jerro, a chubby but rough looking man maybe a couple years older than you named with the simple name "Boar".

For two hours, you and your now peers traded blows, suprisingly you seemed to really enjoy sword-play, weirdly reminiscient of the video games you played back home. You were bruised and slightly bloody by the end of the day, exhausted, but with a smile on your face. You felt good here.

You headed to the barracks, and following suit with the others, waiting for everyone else to go first, you watch as they enter a large room with several pools of steaming water with copious amounts of red stained rags and bristled stones and brushes. They quickly, with practiced easy, shed their armor and undergarments in minutes, throwing them in piles by the pools, and grabbed fresh clothing from nearby bins. Some opting for personal clothing they had in lockboxes.

You sit down at the cleaning pool and start scrubbing the mud from the worn leather armor pieces, dozens and dozens of sets of foul smelling clothes in an now empty armory of sorts.

By the end of the night you came back, hands cracked and sore after washing so much, the friends you made earlier led you to an empty bunk, and darkness quickly swept over.

---

Flame. Crashing thunder. You're aware you're dreaming, giving you an odd sense of vertigo. You look down and see westeros and the modern world quickly swapping places wih one another, one is real, and suddenly it becomes fnatasy while the other is material.

You awake sweating but rested, observing as the guards awake to the sound of the sept bells tolling once to announce the arrival of 5 a.m.

The mornings and evenings quickly fall in to routine, two weeks of constant labor and practice. Early mornings of slopping the horse stalls, eating, and then joining the guards for training until dawn. Then they left on patrol, and you'd be left to maintenance the barracks. The hard labor was already beginning to show an improvement visually with both your sword play and physical appearence.

Today you were finally to pick a group to patrol with, a pretty well-worn tradition in Mace's unit that they were allowed to experience the squad of their picking atleast once before being assigned.

You will not be armed if you join a royal entourage, but will instead be a pack-mule for the guards on assignment. But if you do not go with the royals, full armaments will be provided, but will be far more dangerous by nature.

Today is your "Day of Experience"

> The Royal Retinue - Mace's Personal Guard - We will travel with the royal guard as Mace Tyrell prepares to visit King's Landing for several months. As stated before, as you are a rookie, you cannot be trusted with weapons unless deemed absolutely necessary.

> The Palace Retinue - Stay in Highgarden and join the squad who takes control of the safety, maintenance, and patrols of the castle-town. This includes the slums if assigned, and other detestable parts of the city.

> Margery Tyrell's retinue - You will stay in Highgarden and protect the royal family, primarily Margery Tyrell and sometimes her Grandmother. You will again not be armed unless given permission by the royals.

> The "Gardeners" - Personal Retinue in charge of security in the outer reaches past the walls, often patrolling on horse back through the farmer villages on the perimeter. Only mounted training option and will be fully armed.
>>
>>380714
>> Margery Tyrell's retinue - You will stay in Highgarden and protect the royal family, primarily Margery Tyrell and sometimes her Grandmother. You will again not be armed unless given permission by the royals.

You grin as you think of how beautiful Margery will look in person, and not simply some actress trying to display her or words trying to describe her, but the blood and flesh seductress of kings herself. The Captain is informed of your decision and you are quickly run through your list of duties.

" Your Duties-
: Act as cupbearer for royal family members while in military encampment on the road.

: You will serve the guards on duty at most shifts, tending to their horses and equipment, while training with them for several hours in the early mornings and night with blunted blades for practice.

With your bundle made up of a hide sleeping pack, a small stone pot to boil water in, a wineskin and waterskin you managed to bum off your comrades, both full. Secured snugly to your back with the blunt blade, you stand at attention in the back of a large formation before the steps of the palace. Margery and her Grandmother are seen in the distance kissing the cheeks of their relatives, Mace's other sons. Today they were adressing the new assignment to their personal retinues for the first time.

Margery starts walking closer and closer to the formation, and you can hear several bewildered gasps from the others. "Fuck I'd love to put a baby in her cunt" you hear Boar grunt next to you.

You nod in agreement, heart racing as the lightly clothed beauty walked towards you, well, you and your 100+ other comrades.

Her hair fell in auburn waves past an oddly tanned pale, angelic face, over her large breasts halfway to exposure in the light summer dress she wore. A thin lithe body, with taught soft skin wherever you laid your eyes. She was a goddess, and your body was responding as such, chafing uncomfortably against the metal buckles on the inside of your light armor. You laugh in agreement back at Boar quietly as Margery begins to speak.

" Hello! Hello all of you! We will have a grand time together, we shall." The pretty woman grinned widely, "Do you work well and be rewarded in turn, we Tyrells believe in our words 'Growing Stronger', and we do that by finding the quality among you. Be exceptional my men, be exceptional for your Lord." She shocked you with how elegant and well spoken she sounded, the harshness of modern language seemed barbaric next to the poetic melody of her soft but loud speech.

She waves her hand and heads back to her Grandmother and brothers, Willas and Garlan, and they enter back in to the keep. The captain starts barking out orders to your squad of 20. You are first assigned to guard the royal quarters of all places, atleast the halls outside of it. You marched to your post with the squadron and set to work handing everyone their nightly meals from a steaming pot the cook had made earlier. Everyone set in before the shift started, and you were given leave for your nightly break, meaning you have night free and shifts during the following day.

"You're paid in meals, clothing, and a bed to sleep in until you become a proper warrior." You hear the captain growling at the back of your mind, remembering an earlier conversation.

The guard captain who assigned you says that you must stay either in the atrium, i;e the entrance to the palace, the kitchens, the in-door training rooms and barracks, sometimes the wash rooms when required to clean armor.
>>
>>380766
Pretty neat: Appear naked in Highgarden, get beggar clothes, convince the guard captain to hire us on the spot, get to be a cupbearer and private quarters guard for the royals. We pretty much made it for a commoner...

>>380777
Yeah, train more! We probably still lag behind the other guards as they're here for years already. Everyone will be impressed by our sword play - and looking good at the same time, M. looks out the window? :)
>>
>>380777
Agreed
do >380776 for a bit
then we can train >>380777
>>
>>380782
>until you become a proper warrior
so, we train and then get money!

Can we practise our acting skills to keep them or is living in Westeros enough practise?

>>380783
>>380784

Determined to do right by the beauty who spoke earlier, you grab the blunted sword and head to the courtyard, to a walled off enclosure where many dummies and targets sat for training, and a few other young lords it seems who are either practicing with eachother, bashing away at a straw dummy, or shooting at them after pinning targets with tipless arrows.

> How do you train? Any weapon in here is considered fair game if blunted or tipless. Be careful, as this is the royal training ground and you are a commoner, and these are young lords, not of high class, but lords nonetheless.
>>
>>380777
I got sick trips too
>>
>>380797
Use the dankest blunt longsword.
>>
>>380803
Do a rotation.
1 hour sword * 3
1 hour bow * 3
>>
>>380797
blunt one-handed sword and shield, standard guard equipment. Show respect towards the lords, who are guests to your Lord and employer.
>>
>>380808
trying a bow might be useful too! We haven't tried it yet though... might be super hard without someone to show us the ropes.
>>
>>380797
Ask a noble to spar with you
>>
>>380816
Its pretty simple
I have used one

But a maybe lord will help us. I mean these are tyrells not boltons or lannisters.
Im sure they'll want their guards to "grow strong" :^)
>>
>>380819
>>380820
Can a commoner ask a noble for advice though? Might want to ask Garett or Boar.
>>
>>380823
No we just practise and maybe a lord will notice us senpai

Maybe even loris then we can show him our other sword

But Op lets move on
We gonna train

>>380808
>>380809
>>380803

You bow to the lords who nod to you in response out of tradition, and head to the equipment racks, you grab a wooden buckler and a normal length steel blade to practice.

You stand at an empty set of three dummies and quickly get set in to your taught practice routine. Your muscles are sore with work but you have learbed to push through it and enjoy the exertion. You find your blade arm is becoming very responsive to your movements, the hours of daily practice, and now your own personal practice lending to a greater swiftness and strength to your blows. The lords seem to be complimenting you from afar, but with an oddly baiting tone to it.

"Come, duel one of us guard, show us how well you protect us!"

>????
>>
>>380827
Duel with one of them but allow them to win.
>>
>>380827
"My Lords, it would be my honour." stand ready to fight one. Can't refuse a noble, right... and it's practise
>>
>>380827
Accept
Tell him you are a new guard but that just means winning will be an even bigger honour
>>
>>380832
>but allow them to win
No, they will feel slighted if we do that intentionally, they grew up fighting, probably beating us nicely, no need to amateurishly try to lose...
>>
>>380827
Bad idea. Just stick to the dummy.
>>
>>380837
>Bad idea.
why? It's not like they will kill a guard of Lord Tyrell in his own home.
>>
>>380837
worst thing: they'll ridicule us, put us in our commoner place
>>
Need a consensus
>>
>>380836
Their young nobles, they'll feel superior. I'd rather be ridiculed than have my head rolling down the executioners block.
>>
>>380845
Spar with one of them, try to disarm them
>>
>>380845
duel them and then we'll see how they react... we can always lose when it looks like they're not happy about how things are going...
>>
>>380832
No they want to know the castle is in good hands fight for real
>>380849
There tyrells not lannisters or boltons they have no reason to kill us if we beat them that and Margery would probably save us
>>
>>380827
I agree with >>380866 that we should fight our best. Whether or not we beat the lordling, we thank hikm for providing such a strong opponent and make a jokey offer for him to stay here and help us train.
>>
>>380845

You sheath your sword and calmly changed your demeanor to that of a confident but respectable man, acting skills in use. You extend a gloved hand to the young lord who challenged you, and he stares hotly, sword unsheathed.

He quickly sheathes the blade, and grips your hand. "It is an honor my lord, I am Isaac, of no house." You state calmly.

"Aye, I am Brian, third son in line for Brightwater Keep and House Florent." The broad shouldered man of your age, shaved and preened like a spoiled noble.

Brian Florent beckons you to enter a small dueling ring, and you both draw your shield and blade to the ready.

> How do you attack? First? Or let him strike?
>>
>>380845
Spar
>>
>>380875
Be defensive parry block attack when opening shows its self
>>
>>380875
Selyse Florent is married to Stannis...
let him start, it's only polite.

>>

>>

Take a defensive stance to be polite.
>>
>>380875
>Florents
Aw man. Let him start.
>>
>>380875
Enter a defensive stance and wait for him
>>
>>380875
Bait him with the sheild then attempt to parry with said shield so we can lightly tap him on the side as his sword arm goes flying
>>
>>380886
>>380885
>>380882

Your shield up protecting your torso you approach your opponent, sword at the ready while Brian cautiously examines you. He then raises his blade, and strikes, smashing in to your blade in a very predictable arc, if you were fighting dirty like you do with your comrades, you'd have punched the lordling in the jewels at that angle and won in an instant, but out of respect you disengaged, giving a few token strikes to show resistance.

Brian Florent's face reddens with anger and the leather clad twenty-something strikes at you with fury, hard but unaimed blows. At any second you could disarm him, fuck, even castrate him. Clearly he learned swordsmanship as an art and not a survival technique like you, he was mincemeat if you wished.

> How do you end the fight?
>>
>>380896
Disarm him
"It seems we protect very well" then bow out of respect
>>
>>380896
Let him land some good hits and then just make him fall or some sort.
>>
>>380896
Fight without dirty tricks, try to disarm him, show him respect, "My Lord, it was my pleasure." and then leave
>>
>>380896
Avoid ' vulgar ' tactics like punching and kneeing the lordling but begin fighting aggressively.

>>380907
>>380903
>>380910
>>380911

The lordling really dissapointed you for practice, but he was the in-law relative of Stannis Baratheon himself so he must put up an image of a good fight or bad things could happen from the ridicule. You let him land a few blows on your sword, making it look like he had the upper hand, before hooking the blade up in a clean fashion, disarming him and holding the blade to his chest.

You step back immediately and bow, "Good fight, my lord." You say, slightly fearful of his response. He nods and you stand, returning the gesture.

"We must fight again some time, Isaac, was it? My family is here on envoy from the Baratheons, we shall be here for many months, and we shall spar again." He again gives you his nod and leaves the room, his lordling friends following.

You grin with excitement. You are definitively improving, beating a relatively wealthy noble with ease. Of course the man's skill was pathetic, but it is a sign of your growing ability.

4 hours remain of your break. You could cut sleep this shift and sacrifice your next off period to sleep, or take a nap and continue, or whatever else you may think of eh?

You enter the barracks given to your unit, and unstrap the leather pads from your body, stripping to your undergarments you lay in a hammock and quickly fell to sleep.
--
A dreamless sleep fruited from hours of labor ended far too soon. You awoke three hours later and you trodded mostly naked beyond the cloth undershorts you had, a large scratchy towel in hand, and head to the bath houses of Highgarden, an entrance is carved in the back of the pool rooms from the barracks, a special area reserved for the guards and servants was sectioned off by a wall. It was separated by males and females, but the guard/servant section was the only place for both genders of servants.

You saw Boar, naked as the day he was born with pudge hanging down covering the thick wormling between his legs. You chatted as you shed the cloth shorts and followed your brutish friend into the steamed water, you lean you head back and for a few minutes you phase out, just relaxed to the core, until you hear boar chatting with a female voice. You slightly crack an eye open and see Boar sitting at the edge of the water with a naked female serving girl, she had a little weight on her but she did seem attractive, inciting a rise from your own soldier under the white cloudy water. You almost blow your cover in shock as you hear Boar whisper "he's dead asleep, he won't know, and if he does h'ell fooking join me." As his hand slipped between her legs.

Eyes slit, you watch for several seconds more as boar slips down in to the water, head between the servant-girl's legs as she pathetically moaned. You noticed a boy no younger than fifteen in a nearby pool watching and... enjoying himself. The sight of the boy in that state, your friend, and the girl, were too much so you quickly grabbed a towel and jumped out, hiding your arousal as best as possible. You walked out back in to the dressing area and drop your towel, a couple of entering comrades whistle at your.. status, jokingly making grabs at it, removing the problem entirely. You dressed and left the room, invigorated for your beginning duties.

---

The Captain was waiting at his desk when you entered, quill quickly scrawling a note, Maester behind him advising him on the correct wording.

"Ah, yes, Isaac, come in." The man mused waving his hand without looking up. You stand before his desk at the ready, sword on your belt and shield on your back, having been informed of permission to wear arms by the messenger who summoned you.

The Captain spat in a nearby bucket and looked at you, "You seem to have made friends," he said menacingly, stamped the quill back in the ink. "A Florent requested you be on Margery's Personal guard with your fighting prowess. At her permission." The lowborn Captain growled. You looked worried, not saying a word.

"And." He said. And? And what?

You gulp.

He speaks - "And she has accepted you to her personal guard at his request." He grumbles again, "You will not personally interact with her, but you will keep watch of her at all hours. We are soon to travel to the Baratheon Stronghold in the Stormlands for a feast to the engagement of Margery Tyrell to Renly Baratheon, and you are to keep her safe on the road and in the keep. We will leave in 4 months."

You nod, looking down at an opened letter with the sigil of House Baratheon, Robert Baratheon has Declared Ned Stark the Hand of the King, and is now travelling back from the North with his new Hand. Interesting, the events confirm your suspicions that they follow the book plotlines you knew of.

You bow your head to your Captain, the main who took you in when you needed it most. "I shall serve with Honor sir, and hopefully not make too much of a fool of myself eh?" The Captain almost grinned, "Thank you for your training, it has served me to well as you can see." he nods, dismissing you, and you head out to meet Margery's Royal guard, your new comrades. Boar and the others give you massive hugs before you venture off to the inner rooms of the royal quarters, to the final small guard station inside, where 9 bunks lined the walls with copious storage lining the rest.

A woman, probably 4 years your senior sits there, mending a breastplate with the Tyrell sigil. She introduces herself as a haindmaiden to lady Margery, Elinor Tyrell, a distant relative. She was a dainty girl with bright white skin, and a green and gold summer dress like most of the Tyrell women wore as you've seen. You chat about nothing special while you unpack you gear in to the assigned bunk. A list of tasks, including your age old favorite, cleaning the barracks, was laying on the bed claiming that they had to be done before the regiment arrived at the end of the next shift. The shifts were split between two "halls" one shift would sleep and relax while the other 'hall' would be on active duty, and on twelve hour rotations they switch, down to 6 hour rotations in the field. You would join the next rotation in 3 hours, but for now you quickly tidied up the barracks, Elinor helped greatly and you finished the tasks in less than a halfhour.

You ask the rules of loaning books, and he says that you may take one book of choosing with you in return for your name, and upon your next visit of the keep within the next year, you will return it.

You consider buying a book on science, then realize you know infinitely more than these men knew about, well atleast yours, the natural world. Opting instead for a book on combat or alchemy, you wish to enlist the Maester for help.

"Excuse me!" the man looks up happily, "yes, son, how may I help?" you explain your situation and the old man helps you find a book detailing the concoctions of useful poultices, medicines, and poisons useful for soldiers. You thank him immensely for the help, and offer to come by soon and help him out in the library.

=====

You and the maester browse many books together, but in the end there were no manuals on sword fighting, rather tales of legendary soldiers that the maester said was bound to stay in Highgarden.

You buy the book of Medicine for 10 dragons, your measly savings from the past weeks.

Returning to the new Barracks, you saw several men asleep in the beds, the watch you were to join after this break. You lay down in your hammock and slowly dirft to sleep, used to the snore of soldiers around you.

--

Mornings started to gain a pattern, wake up, piss, train with swords till breakfast, train more, and then wait on standby to meet with her Majesty if she wished to travel anywhere, which she often did to the slums of the city to distribute strategically placed donations in sight of many moble witnesses. On these trips, you'd examine the poor, you never really heard much abot the common folk in the novels. They seemed well off here, in Highgarden at least. Decently fed and not too dirty overall, with clean smelling streets, life must not be too bad here for the commoners, explaining the lax attitude of the early nobles.

On one such of these trips, you notice a suspicious man in a hood walking towards your congregation, hand glenching something on his belt. You are the closest to him, and you are armed.

>>
>>381930
> worst we have to rest for a month reading.
you mean at best right?
i think it's more likely we'll end being poisoned or at least wounded for 2 months.
But yeah a minor wound would let us time to read.
If we didn't have to sell the book because we wouldn't have a job anymore and would have to find a way to produce income.
Not that i hate this kind of situation, i actually find it thrilling to have to do complex rational thinking to get out of situation which is hard will get harder as the story plays out.
But yeah Highgarden is likely the best place to be vunerable at since we're not gonna have an army march on us or be burned at the stake or die in the middle of a desert due to starvation and dehydratation.
We do have it easy.

Well since we'll injured trying to save a noble we don't have to march anywhere spending our time reading and maybe getting it good with the nobles.
The real question is which house should we help for the bid to the thone?
Do we help this house since it's the closest really there lots of things to think about.
I see us serving as a researcher in one of the houses in our future that we'll be worth more than a King's ransom.
>>
>>381954
Well one thing is for sure I don't want the Starks to die. I want to support daenerys or the other lil shit. Fuck the lanisters. The reach is meh. Greyjoy might not be the best idea. Maybe help the Aryns a wee bit? Dorne I'm neutral on
>>
>>381954
>The real question is which house should we help for the bid to the throne?
this beg another question, how rigid is the story compared to the canon?
>>381968
See in Highgarden it's a bad time to be against the Lannisters since the stromland will likely try lots of things and fail, Dorne will stand around and do nothing for a long time and the north is fucked as soon as the red wedding happen if it does.
Also fucking with the canon too much may mean some event don't happen.
aka, bran doesn't become a magical time travelling kid and Jon snow don't do all the awsome shit he's supposed to do because L+R=J.
I personally think we should stay in Highgraden a bit until crazy shit like the Death of Joffrey happen then we maybe go to Redwyne then fuck off either on adventure to Tyr,Myr,Bravos or further away into Essos, but not too far or we'll get fucked by slavers.
>>
>>381968
Something that I wanted to do In GoT from whomever we help is go get the islands off the summer islands? I think that's what they are.
Also while we all know what happened in GoT I want us to explore and do stuff in the places never talk about in the books. Like the lands to the east and all that.
But that so far in the future, we right I'm happy we're we are now.
I want a pet dragon.
>>381986
I like the idea of going east since it's something different.
Also Essos knew as the trading hub so if we want we can start a tech trading place. Trading our tech to the higest bidder without being forced to give it up.
>>
>>381986
How weird would it be if we deserted and disappeared into the night, got into the service of Robert Baratheon and stopped the squire from giving him shit wine?
>>
>>381994
*timeline explodes*
>>
>>381994
This
>>
>>381994
All events we know don't happen. Lose the skill to look into the future. :^(
Get stab in the gut in a dark alley for doing such a thing.
>>
>>381994
That would fuck the whole story.
It would literally fuck Westeros tho also.
A war Danny vs Rob Baratheon vs White walkers and only Westeros would lose.
Also if L+R=J would get exposed Robert would kill Jon snow and it could really create a divide with Ed stark.
Meaning we'll likely look at a Stark+Dorne vs Stromland+King'sland+Lannisters.
Which would only fuck the realm even more before the White walkers.
War will happen eitherway.
This world is kindda doomed anyway.
>>381991
>Also Essos knew as the trading hub so if we want we can start a tech trading place. Trading our tech to the higest bidder without being forced to give it up.
bringing copied scrolls to Essos is actually smart.
>>
>>381994
Or convinced Robert to made Ned his heir by predicting a few easy events like his goring by the boar, Cersei's conversation with him about love, etc. and when he lays dying knowing this mysterious man predicted it all, Ned Stark is crowned King on the Iron Throne. Robb Stark is made his heir, and Bran ( his replacement) and raised them to become warden of the North and lord of Winterfell. We then inteoduce Bean to the Three Eyes Crow, he reveals Jon's Parantage, and Jon Targaryen is named Ned Stark's heir to the iron throne
>>
>>382018
Oh god your raping the continuity
>>
just pointing our, 10 dragons are an insane amount for a book. A good suit of unadorned armor costs 4 dragons. You'd probably get a few dragons a year as a guard.

A good meal at an inn costs a few coppers, while a horse costs a single dragon.
>>
>>382018
Yeah but Ned is too honorable to take what is due to Stannis the Mannis.
He'd refuse sadly and Stannis is a crazy fuck who burn childrens and fuck priest to give birth to demons.
Also the Lannisters would be butthurt and Tywin would literally have a heart attack.
Also if they didn't have to go north Bran would have never went to the wall in the first place.
All thoses setups are toooo perfect.
Also who else is hype for Jon marrying his aunt next season?
It's so obvious that he's going to marry danny, i mean he's the only ruler of westeros that is Male and single apart from little finger and the small autist king of the vale.
but yeah GoT theory talk apart, let's not fuck with the cannon.
>>
>>382049
If we fuck with the cannon. We don't know what will happened.
Lets just try to get rich for now, or something else I'm open to ideas what we should do.
>>
>>382049
But....we have too
>>
>>382049
This just reminds me of that CYOA chart of being dropped off in Westeros
>>
>>382049
So we have to work to overthrow stannis' rebellion, and eventually remove the lannisters from power when our chosen lord to support takes over.

We need to figure out who that is, because Dany won't be powerful for some time, Ned probably won't believe us, Stannis is smart but we'd have to start worshipping R'hllor, Renly ia gay so we could try taking Loras' spot, and hiring a red priest to protect renly.
>>
I know nothing about GoT but I do enjoy stories like this, can someone give me a rundown of things that happen in the city we are in now?
>>
>>382067
Oh, we could always support Margery, become a confidant and put her up as Queen.
>>
>>382071
I don't know much about the reach so someone else will have to teach us
>>
>>382071
the tyrells hang out for a while, while Joffery and Rob Stark fight it out. After a bit, they will march to side with Joffrey.

The books don't focus on Highgarden
>>
>>382058
>If we fuck with the cannon. We don't know what will happened.
Maybe we could loot Ice at the Red Weeding.
Since we're from Highgarden the Freys might give us some hospitality.
Having the biggest valyrian steel sword is a good idea.
Another pretty consequenceless action we could do is studying wildfire.
I'm pretty sure we'll need some again pretty much anything that'll fight a war against whichever side we pick.
>>382067
>So we have to work to overthrow stannis' rebellion, and eventually remove the lannisters from power when our chosen lord to support takes over.
No no no, you don't understand.
If Rob baratheon die, Ned will support Stannis like he always did in the show, he might end up hand of the king and try to fix the shit that Stannis the Mannis "zealot" baratheon does but he'll never betray the actual succesion line, he's too honorable.
Also we'd have to fuck the lannister because Ned would simply demonstrate that Cersei is an incestuous whore.
Tywin would shit brick, Cersei would die of SHAME *bell noise* and Jaime would do Jaime stuff and be the assholish knight that he is and likely end up the king of Casterly Rock.
Also Ned would give a fuck about Stannis worshiping R'hollor since he worshipped the old gods all along.
So yeah it could be good.
But Saving Ned is no small task for a single man.
Especially since he'll die in less than like 2 or 3 months.
>>
>>382089
I really don't read or watch GoT the info I get from it is from a ck2 mod of GoT so I'll you come up with the plans. While I'll help when I can, like knowing not to tell everyone we know the future. If any lord figures this out without us someone to protect us were fucked.
Martin Luther the German didn't get killed for years since he got a German prince protecting him. :^)

aw shit all this mad gameplay of aegon the conqueror is coming back to me.
11/10 would fuck both sisters again.
but more seriously get yourself the audio book and th pdf or just watch it, it's like 50 hours of fun.
We could ally Ed if we save his ass, like pretend we're some sort of psychic of the old gods.
Impress him straigh off the bat by popping the L+R=J or simply warning him subtly about the fact that the lannisters are up to no good.
>>
>>382158
I loved that part and it shows that dragons are the shit.
I'll try reading when I have the chance. I don't know every detail but know lots of shit will go down and I'll support you if that what you think it best.
We should try to limit the chaos here, but always make us number one.

I really want to go get us a dragon egg, and controll the summer islands after dealing with the natives. In that mod I really like the east side of the world since it's so much different. Also legal slaves.
>>
>>382182
The master plan is going to be
1 save Ned and robert
2 fuck the lannisters a new one
3 serve Margery faithfully because at this point we are kind of inclined to.
4 fuck off an explore the east

Sound like a game plan?
>>
>>382196
You forgot be best friends with tyrion
>>
>>382182
>I really want to go get us a dragon egg
Unless we book it to essos and try to steal danny's eggs we don't stand a chance.
There's 3 dragons eggs left in the world and she has all of them and will be hatching thoses soon.
>control the summer islands after dealing with the natives
they're not that depicted in the cannon, not shown in the Series and barely scratched in the books so yeah.
We could do worldbuilding there or just leave it as obscure as it is.
But yeah our best odds at doing some fancy shit is studying in the citadel, maybe learn some coold stuff from archmaester marwyn by working with him, he'll go to essos sometime anyway.
>>382196
>1 save Ned and robert
saving Ned and Robert isn't compatible they'll fight each other if Jon snow's true lineage is revealed.
>2 fuck the lannisters a new one
agreed, but tyrion will suffer and frankly he did nothing wrong.
>3 serve Margery faithfully because at this point we are kind of inclined to.
depends they might fuck the stability of the realm and ally the lannisters anyway.
>4 fuck off an explore the east
that we'll likely do with marwyn since he's literally the guy with the most magic knowledge in the realm.
If he's going to join either Danny or Rhaegar's other son which would depend on wether he's with varys or just a random guy going to Essos.Maybe he's going to Asshai.
Who knows we'll have to talk to the guy.
>>382207
Might be impossible given that his brother will go mad over the affair being discovered and his father will shit a house and this time an actual physical one.
>>
>>382196
>>382207
You guys know the plot, I know other things just as long we get rich and after some time get married to a hot babe with some power I'm alright. I want us to have power that we can have some holdings of our own without the kingdoms trying to fuck us over with every turn. Maybe get a dragons and be a start a trading empire.
>>
>>382218
>I want us to have power that we can have some holdings of our own without the kingdoms trying to fuck us over with every turn. Maybe get a dragons and be a start a trading empire.
yeah it's not ck2 level of easy...
We will never get dragon because we have Targaryen blood and we'll likely never marry a good house without some proper skill and at least a good amount of support, also having our own terrain without a liege is like unimaginable unless we go to Essos with King's Landing Wildfire caches.
>>
>>382217
I like us some world building and do some cool shit not placed in the books. The east has a lot of promise, but my knowledge is limited. We can fuck up a lot of shit or just fuck off and do our own thing. Either or I'll down.
>>
>>382232
>The east has a lot of promise, but my knowledge is limited. We can fuck up a lot of shit or just fuck off and do our own thing. Either or I'll down.
Maybe we could go fight the White walker ON THE OTHER SIDE of the planet., Essos and Westeros are likely linked and maybe to the north of Asshai where some white walker have been sighted might be a way to go to beyond the wall in Essos.
Maybe we can go there and have our fun adventure and become the Three eyed crow.
Right now we have options.
>>
>>382218
That sounds good if we play our cards right we can marry Margery go to the summer islands and be a merchant prince with our own little country
>>
>>382230
To get that support we can be the future knowing sword guard. With some tech thrown in as well, so small things no need for gunpowder from the start. We should in time help someone know the future that we'll get us support.
Also we could make up a house so at least we have something to build up.
>>
>>382196
We're probably too late to save Ned and Robert. We might save Renly though
>>
>>382249
>so small things no need for gunpowder
there's no gun powder in most of the world, maybe in Yi ti?
>Also we could make up a house so at least we have something to build up.
Or just keep our regular name and marry the only daughter of some almost infertile lord.
>>
>>382253
We do what will work for us. I'll just throw some ideas until I read the books. Let's keep gunpowder a secret since that will change things so hard.
>>
>>382253
All of our greatest power lies in our ability to know the future we can create exactly. If we manipulate events to the right point and make another choice, we become the strongest people in the world
>>
>>382263
This ability is dead as soon as we do something significant like saving Ned or Renly, all the decision of character like Varys and little finger then will change and we'll get fucked over.
It would be best to save Ned or Renly and then fucking off to the citadel, learning how to make wildfire and stdying under mage marwyn then going to essos, maybe getting fireworks from Yi ti then fucking off either to Danny or Asshai and fighting white walker.

We have modern knowledge, that trumps lots of things. Would have been better if our background was a super nerd or martial artist type, but we voted on being a theater fag boy. Might I make a little suggestion, Make a note detailing the most recent events that are going to go down in canon, only a few. Give it to Margary and ask her to give it too her grand mother. Maybe say something along the lines of in roughly X months the king is going to have an accident in a boar hunt and list a few more details. Only tell her, then carry on as normal until we get sent for when the shit hits the fan.
>>
Just read through this whole thing and came to the realisation that you guys aren't too bright are you?
>Choose an actor
>Take a job as a guard

Now, I get it if you guys don't want to powergame, but all things considered, maybe taking a dangerous job that requires no brainpower right off the bat isn't a great idea?

If you needed coin and a roof over your head quick, you could have done a single man performance of one of the famous plays from your world, which considering the acting ability and knowledge of timeless masterpieces from our world, you could have easily gotten yourselves some starting coin.
You could also have used your acting skills to fabricate yourselves a persona that'll allow you to get an easy start.
For example, you could have went to the temple and said that you're on a pilgrimage, but you got robbed of your clothing.
>>
>>382253
Gunpowder is literally just saltpeter, charcoal and sulfur.
It's not hard to get the materials for it, it's just getting ratios right.
I'm surprised you don't remember this from chemistry class or do they not teach this to you?
>>
>>383114
Anon you don't get it we choice a guard so we get gains. Also we get to be in the palace, allowing movement to talk about the nobles about our future sense. Playing as a actor will just have us get money not really get close to the royals, only if we get renown so going as a guard was a good idea as we can get muscles and tell the future. Their a risk but it's worth it for the gains.
We'll going to be sword fighting in duel best we learn.
>>
>>383114
Okay, enough whining, let's see what we can work with here.
Guard job does actually come with some prestige, so we could theoretically gain some support from the people if we'd do our job right.

With sufficient amount of prestige and support from people, we could theoretically speaking fabricate a claim, stating that we're of an old bloodline that ages past became irrelevant, but has risen once again to answer the obligations of one's noble blood.

With the knowledge of the genealogy of the nobility and the extinct houses of westeros, we could create a family line whose existence cannot be disproven, thus making the claim valid to criticism.
>>
>>383127
Nigger this is not ck2. We get a claim by killing famous people and feeding the poor, traveling the east and fucking with the magical arts. Claims come in power, it's a universal rule.
>>
>>383127
>against criticism
Anyhow, as long as it's an official looking document, which considering our level of literacy we can probably make as long as we see a bit of reference material, nobody will really question it.

After all, we're sufficiently learned to pass off as one and what's another landless noble?
>>
>>383129
Considering how much stake they put into bloodlines in westeros, fabricating a claim is definately a way to bypass that.

I mean Targs despite losing their right to rule and despite Dany being woefully incompetent, they still got support because if their bloodline.
>>
>>383139
I think we should start playing smart, get in with the Maesters and the Queen of thrones, go full schemer. Tell them we have infomation, pedict an event coming up tell Margey and her grandmother, when it happens we have proved our story. Then move in the background and use what we know of our world to power game. Whats the point of knowing all this otherwise.
>>
>>383147
We can't look crazy so just keep the predicting to a minimum can't play out hand on the go. Just one as a side thing and once it happens we'll be bump up and have a better job and pay and will be really useful in whoever we help.
We don't have to help The Reach, but then again which kingdom is worth helping in the throne
>>
>>383147
Nope, I got it. We fuck every major female character. Now that's respectable as fuck. Screw the east, we only go there for dany. Fuck magic, makes beauties turn into hags. Let's just fuck em.

As long as you make them laugh and show that you've got talent, it doesn't matter if you're a beggar looking guy. Single actor doing a comedy sketch is not exactly unheard of amongst street performers.
Alternatively if you don't wanna do one man comedy performance, then you can also join up a mummers troupe.

Just saying that guard job has a lot of strings attached and is a dangerous job.
Two things that you don't want right off the bat until you've decided which horse you wanna back.
>>
>>383229
>proud

I would like to point out that we just got lucky our first fight, and the second fighr was against some faggot that was clearly a horrible fughter. There's a reason we're still the bitch boy, even for Margery's guard.

We aren't some shpeshul swordsman who wants to be a guard so much - he's a teenager who just weeks ago found himself naked in a strange place, with no allies or friends. He's surviving, and he sees a better chance at being alive as the guard bitch-boy, and eventually guard himself, netting us some coin to refill our lost savings we spent on that book, get us some personal equipment so we don't have to ateal when we leave, etc.

Right now we should be plotting while we protect murgury
>>
>>383249
>teenager who just weeks ago found himself naked in a strange place
So true.

I can understand some people's wish to powergame but reading the story so far, I enjoy the student actor angle.

The protagonist is no tech wiz, child genius or survivalist, but more of an average sporty guy with super-memory for the GoT universe (books+tv) - that strangely appeals to me. And not having met and interacted with important characters so far, keeps me immersed (got some strong expectations how canon characters should behave).
>>
Im surprised we aint playing more into the fact that we have meta knowledge, place bets at the coming tournament in the capital. Maybe get ourselves to kings landing to be Loras's guard for it. Give Stark a heads up, tell him if a specific set of events unfurl he should expect the following. We may save Ned Stark but to be honest the war of five kings could still occur but with Ned instead of Rob.
>>
>>383259
Nah, it would be different because House Stark (if Ned were alive) would pledge themselves to Stannis, instead of going independent, other kings get btfo pretty fast by that alliance
>>
>>382016
>A war Danny vs Rob Baratheon vs White Walkers and only Westeros would lose.
To be fair, Dany's pretty weak until her dragons grow up and her army composition is absolute garbage against the heavy cavalry and castles that westeros has.
Take away the dragons and she's just a girl with bunch of troops that can't do shit against heavy armor.

>Also if L+R=J would get exposed Robert would kill Jon snow and it could really create a divide with Ed stark.
In the books it was not stated that Jon is the son of Rhaegar, but even if he was, he's at the wall and there's not much to be done about that. Not to mention they wouldn't fight a war over something like that considering they're friends.

>Meaning we'll likely look at stark+dorne vs stormland+ king'sland + lannisters
Or there's not going to be a war, except possibly for the subjugation of lannisters since Robert might choose to revoke all their titles and redistribute their lands.

>This world is kinda doomed anyway
Not if the wall holds.
>>
>>383259
placing bets, ok. But changing the timeline... I prefer the existing order of events desu. I can imagine the MC supporting the the Tyrells (as he serves them now) and preparing for the White Walker threat ...
>>
>>383268
But whats the point? Are we going to let the High Sparrow blow them all away? Are we going to let the Sparrows gain power? Why not alter things? Even to benefit the Tyrell?

Should we save any of the Stark children when it hits the fan? Why not save Ned? Why simply exist when we can change things quite possibly for the better? If we act through the Queen of Thorns we'd be invisible. Just come slightly odd guard? We gonna try to save Oberyn?
>>
>>383274
We should kidnap Ned

The cloaked man raises a small dagger high and charges you, his intent is clearly lady Margery, and you are the only one who can stop him.

The supply-pack the elder guards were having you carrywas filled with all of the maintenance supplies for the Lady's carried transportation.

You attempt to bash the man with your shield, but he ducks effortlessly out of the way from the shoddy attempt, he is about to plunge the knife through the wooden wall of the transport before you tackle the man and feel the dagger sliding deep in to the back of your thigh as the man stabbed desperately downwards at you. You grip your fist and with the burst of adrenaline from the intense pain, begin beating the living shit out of the man in front of you until your fellow guards help you up. Lady Margery ordered to be carried back to the Palace, and the trip for charity was effectively ended while you got your first ever sips from the milk of the poppy.

A sensation similar to strong pain medication hit Isaac almost immediatly, in the cloth stretcher he was drowsy, by the time he was in the carriage and eventually Highgarden's Infirmary? Completely delirious or passed out on different intervals.
---

During your sleep, again you see strange images of your home world with the universe of A Song of Ice and Fire. It looks like a flat disk, on one side the depiction of the real world, on the other the depiction of Game of Thrones. It spins heavily, and by the time it slows a painful throbbing shoots through your thigh and you awake with a yell.

You throw back the thin cover the Maester must have put over you and looked at the wound as best you could. A red, stitched would about an inch wide was swollen there, throbbing with the beat of your heart, pain matching in step.

Again the Maester feeds you milk of the poppy to sleep, and over the next two weeks the Maester helps wean you back in to walking again. Slowly after you had first awoken from your coma, the wound he said would take atleast a couple months to properly heal, but walking would be possible with a wooden crutch after a month.

Time in the infirmary of sorts was boring. Time was spent in pain, high on the milk, talking to the Maester, or masturbating senselessly.

You and the Maester had grown closer over this time, he would tell you many interesting stories about the city, none that help you in a strategic way, but still interesting tid bits non-theless

Talk with the Maester, learn how he takes care of flesh wounds, ask to get your alchemy book you bought to learn some while you can't do anything else. How's Elinor Tyrell?

Drop some medical bomb shells on the Maester, lets get a few things up to scratch, a little knowledge sharing I think. It'll show them we are more than meets the eye and when what we tell them is helpful we earn trust

2) See if we can go to Kings Landing to acompany Loras Tyrell to the coming Torniemant...oh it's not being announced well when the King does do me a solid and let me go would you.

1) Get Sansa Stark out of there, hopfully the same for Arya.

4) Warn Renly of the coming Shadow baby

start writing our bio text books out, resperation, diagrams of the human body. Maester's are worried about Quiburn doing it but we can show we already know, no need to cut people up. We can show how each body part functions in more detain, nutrition, psychological/mental stuff. Hell even stuff from our basic history/chemistry classes is enough to understand warfare on a whole new level.

>>383301
We can tell him to keep that shit under raps if he wants to rule, once he's king go nuts but not before.

I mean damn we can even drop a letter to Stannis and warn him that shit aint gonna go his way, give him a preview so when it comes true, boom we're ready and waiting.

The Rose's Thorns shall choke the Lion and any others whom dare to face us.

The Maester sits with you, day 17 after the injury, as usual at the end of the day providing you with a small amount of conversation and entertainment. He tells you a lot about his experiences as a maester, living through so many different rulers in his decades serving Highgarden. He speaks highly of Mace Tyrell and his children, saying they are "singularly the purest family in all of the world!" , but has a strange disdain for the Queen of Thorns, an attitude you've found in many who did not speak well of her.

"Could you teach me a few small healing techniques? Like how to bind flesh? It would be so useful in my situation, I'll do my best to repay you for your help. But I need to improve while I'm here or I'll go crazy." The Maester studies you intently, his old eyes wrinkling as his eyebrows raise in a suspiciously jolly manner.

"Very well! I'll bring by a few supplies tomorrow and we'll get started, all of the Tyrell children are grown fully and do not take lessons with myself any more, being a tutor for a short period once again would elate me." He said, finishing with a goodnight before closing your door.
---
The Maester was good on his promise, and the next day, he brought several pieces of what seemed to be partially- skinned fruits, with the peels delicately placed in a bowl next to them. A hooked needle with thread tied through it lay in a bowl of foul smelling liquid, presumably some form of ancient cleaning solution.

The maester goes to work showing examples of tying the skins back on with the thread,
"It's a grand practice for the art of stitching, you develop the delicate and intricate hand muscles needed for such expertise, practice this much when I am gone, just ask the serving girls for fruit.

> You try a few times and the Maester watches....

Your hands, not the most delicate things in the world as they were, could not seem to fully secure the missing piece of skin to the fruit like you had hoped. Starting along the left edge of the soft skin, the needle slid through effortlessly, and in rapid succession knocked out 15 near perfect stitches before a cramo tore through your hand and ruined the piece, this happens with varying differences each time.

The Maester smiles "Not too bad, but you'll need to practice to get rid of those spasms. No worries, everyone gets them at first." You say your goodbyes and he leaves the room. You grab another piece and begin practicing for a few hours, improving minorly but your fingers just hurt too much after awhile.

...

The large alchemical novel you purchased from the maester proved an interesting read, and you were quite engrossed in the intro when a quick knock sounded on the wall outside your personal area.

"Yes, who is it?" You call out,

"It's me, Elinor" you hear her reply, you invite her in and chat about the wound, she brings some food for you and you graciously wolf it down. She laughs at your gusto with a smile, you crack a smile as well and return back to fun conversation, random chats about the world and what they hope for their futures.

"Marriage is what terrifies me..." She whispers, "I don't want to be too graphic with you, but you are a friend, my mother thinks I'm soon ready to be arranged with some lord in some other place." She sighs a deep sigh and you put a hand on her shoulder comfortingly.

She continues, "I know arranged marriages are just the way things go but it sounds so loveless." You agree with her.

> Anything to say to her before she leaves?
>>

Tell her, sometimes things may start not looking great but in time many people grow to love one another, it just takes time and patience. You'll be ok, just stay in contact with your family so if you ever need help you can get it. Make a "growing strong" pun or something related to her family to lighten the mood.

>>383326
Sorry also add how Lord Stark lives in one such marriage and they are rolling in kids and are very happy, so it can happen.

She smiles a little, but still looks doubtful, "But what if he's an ass?" She blurts out, immediately blushing for cursing in front of you, "I- I'm sorry I didn't mean to," you laugh and assure her it's fine. She grins.

"You're... Different Isaac. You treat me differently than any man I've known, like we're equals. It's strange. Why do you treat me so nicely?"

> She looks to you for an answer

I can't go into much detail but lets say things like marriage and such are done slightly differently where i'm from. But that's a story for another time.

We should try to play dumb at least the first question then play the "it's becuse i'm Isaac and in the crazy act the gods wrote Isaac treat Elinor nicely because it feel infinitely good to treat Elinor nicely and when Elinor is around there's no cold that could freeze this fiery feeling inside of me."
We can't really assume she love us, but she probably hate the other guy so we'll have to build a lot of tension so that we seem like the nicest guys on the planet who can confirm his love and she'll fall in love with us due to the fact that we're a forbidden fruit.
>>
Given the fact we can read, write, are ok at sword play, would have a very healthy body as someone from our world as compared to them along with being bloody smart im surprised no one thinks we're a spy or some shit.

We need to chat to the Queen of Thrones asap, if only so we can begin to play our hand and use what information we have.

That's a bad idea we would have to reveal some of our hand which would empty it very quickly due to the fact that we would be changing cannon.
Let's wait at least till Greyjoy fuck winterfell.
>>
>>383388
I suggest what we do is tell her how the results of the Joust will go and include the little mountain outburst and the hounds intervention. That is more than enough. Maybe even tell her exactly what her grandson will do...she won't tell him so she can see and she'll discover we are legit. We at that point have changed nothing what so ever.

Secure Tyrell leadership of the realm and internal stability ready to face the coming Hordes of Winter.

>Stage 1: Lay the Bed
-Earn the "Queen of Thorns" trust with >>383390
-Enter kings landing and secure Sansa Stark and warn Ned of coming Betrayal
-Say hello to the Spider let him know we are in this for the realm, give him a quick bit of info (that little Finger killed John Aryn)
-Maybe chat with Dorne

>Stage 2: The Thorns grow
-Use what we know to win money/ place bets
-Continue to make friends and sell information while it is valid
-The war of King will occur one way or another, be ready and protect whomever we back for king.

>Stage 3: The Rose
-Seduce the people

I just got a plan, if we save renly but not having us do the job itself?
What is we give Brienne Tarth an obsidian dagger and tell her to stab any demon or strange magical being she see and promise her that we are for renly since we're for the Tyrells.
Maybe she can stab the shadow away and because a good friend of us?
We'd have to do some research on what obsidian can kill though.
>>
>>383403
This backing this plan
>>
>>383403
Stage 1 might be too hard.
Saving Ned is imcompatible with protecting the tyrell's interest, if Ned live he support Stannis the Mannis who want the throne like his Brother Renly who is married to Margaery Tyrell.
If we're pro-tyrell we would have just played ourselves.
>>

It takes every bit of your willpower to not rip off shakespeare or any other poet you know, she looks so cute as she blushes with the question. You smile back and, in the interest of stoking her interest in you for a later time, begin to explain that where you come from they just don't see why women should be considered lesser than men. Keep it a secret," you whisper in her ear, she blushes and agrees to not tell a soul, even if you refuse to tell her of your homeland. You two chat about small things until it's time for her to leave, she pecks you on the cheek like a noble lady would do to any friend and you smile. Innocence was a nice sight to see.
---
Over the next few weeks little changed, you continued to practice sewing skins on to fruits, getting pretty good at it by the end of the 2nd month until your depature to the Stormlands. Both you and the Maester agree that you are ready to move on, and he quickly has you set to work on stitching together the skin on (cleaned and defeathered) retired messenger ravens. You probably have the skill to stitch minor wounds, but as the maester informs you, true trauma training can only be learned on the job.

By this time, you are now walking without the crutch and have a mostly closed and scarred over wound in your leg. You've taken the Maester's advice to walk several miles a day, with much rest inbetween, to repair the function of the damage muscles, thankfully no tendons had been severed.

This day in particular you are walking through your third or fourth mile, exploring the city with the soon to fade freedom of your medical leave.

You hear rumors that Ned Stark has officially taken office as Hand of the King in King's Landing, and is rumoured among many of the peasents and lower-folk you often interact with to be using quite a heavy bit of power. The upcoming Hand's Tournament is said to be one of the largest held in the capital.
---
Finally, after several visits from both the Maester and your Tyrell friend Elinor, it seems that the las month of recovery has come to an end, and you are just now settling back in the Barracks.
---

Routinue rears its ugly head again and you're back on schedule within the week - training now took up most of your time. After your near crippling, every precaution was worth becoming stronger and more reflexive. Days took up guarding the royal quarters, Nights were spent with hours at the sword and your book of alchemical reactions.

The convoy to leave Highgarden to The Stormlands with Margery Tyrell will leave in one week. In response to this long journey, you are given a two day period of respite to get your affairs in order before leaving the city.

> For these last two days of freedom in Highgarden, where do you go?

Political scheming is fun to think about, the sense of life and death that surrounds your actions seem far more real after your stabbing - The Queen of Thorns comes to mind more often than not, she could be a good ally, but then again the shrewd old woman would have barely any respect for a commoner who claims to know the future. Safer to play your cards closer to your chest until you are in a stronger position.

You decide to drop in on Elinor one more time before you leave, wanting one last night of shennanigans with the sweet girl. You find her idly drawing using a piece of hardened charcoal on parchment, you approach behind her to take a look, and you see a portrait of you, or atleast a figure that looks like you, in great detail. Someone who didn't know your face well would be unable to recognize the portrait in its unfinished state.

The girl is humming softly, a light blush on her cheeks... Some darker thoughts cross your mind, seducing the girl would be quite easy, unlike back in your old life, and having a noble lover (with some knowledge of contraception) does have its advantages if you keep it secret. It is pretty well known that with pretty girls in this universe, only the most ataunchly honorable men would care if they found out she was no virgin, but you shake your head, the girl was very innocent, and to do that would change her life forever.

You watch for a few seconds as she continues to doodle.

she either accept fate or we drag her along secretly.

this could be interesting.
Actracting varys attention is smart since we know his hidden true intentions in the book.
getting Rhaegar's son on the Throne, we could surprise him by saying we know a lot due to magic and then ask him to save Ned and give Brienne an obsidian dagger to save Renly.

Little finger maybe but Varys could be a good guy, he just want Rheagar son to be on the throne and he doesn't know there actually two of them.
He could actually become Ned and Jon snow's best allies.
I mean he's loyal to the Targaryen and wants a good king and who better than Jon snow fit the profile?
Meanwhile danny comes to Essos only to be greated by an unmarried Targaryen and traditions happen and we get our song of ice and fire by marrying danny and jon snow.
Then they both kill white walkers with Dragons wildfire and valyrian steel and everyone is happy.
Varys can set things right if we just persuade him and tell him the truth.

Secondly, if our final goal is securing Westeros from the Walkers, we should aim towards helping Dany, by acquiring power in the realm, maybe becoming the secret ruler hidden behind the king of our choosing, so that when she eventually gets to Westeros she will find the kingdom in a way better situation than in the books, and try to make her get the throne withouth too much bloodshed. This is because the dragons will be extremely important in the war against the winter, and there is little we can do right now to stop/kill Dany anyway. Then again, depends on what your plans are, maybe we can just get enough power and money to form our own kingdom in the southern continent giving a shot about the rest.
>>
>>383577
Varys is working for the Blackfyres, not the Targaryans, if we told him that we'd probably get a crossbow bolt to the chest
>>
>>383591
>don't fuck Elinor
We aint
We just friends
>>
Why do a love the image of some roaring fireplace with an armchair facing away from it, Issac sat there in our glistening armour, reflecting the flames casting flickers of glare across the room.

Someone opens the door and all they can see is our shape and the glistening armour looking like there's no one even in it because of the fire glare.

I think we just say we're in this for the realm...though we should tease him about how if we were the suspicious type we'd think he was a Merkin
>>
>>383602
>tease Varys
...no?
Some characters seem friendly in the novels or tv show but mostly only when depicted speaking with friends and family - we're neither, so I'm all for keeping low for now.
>>
>>383582
btw is our modern way to draw things (perpective, proportions, etc) way different to Westerosi doodling/art? Can we fascinate that way? ("That young guard can dance and draw! We should have him around more!")
>>
>>383592
>He's working with Blackfyres
Aegon Targaryen is not a blackfyre even if he's only half Targaryen he's still son to Rhaegar so technically Jon snow is young griff's older half brother.
I'm sure Varys will reconsider everything once he realise that while he was busy smuggling a Targaryen to Essos someone else smuggled one to Winterfell.
He literally told to a dying man that Aegon is the son of Rhaegar so Varys will never kill us if we tell him we know very much and are willing to help him defend the realm and put a worthy king on the Throne.
His only wish is to have the son of Rhaegar on the Throne, telling him there's two of those and he can choose which one goes on the throne will never have him kill us.

Yeah, we should keep low but influence everything we can. We know EVEYRTHING which means that we know exactly what every charachter wil do, what they like and where they will be. We should use our knowledge to better our position in society( maybe saving Renly when we have the chance). Changing something major would probably fuck up the story line and we would lose our knowledge. I think it's best that we stay low, make connections, make money and prepare for the Other invasion/ Dany's return and then start changing shit(since thats the point where the show/books are currently at)
>>

Yes! Support that! The White Walkers stand no chance! :)

>>
>>383622
While us altaring events may change some choices people make, their motivations and goals will remain the same fortunately. Also hard facts remain the same. The Lanister incest for example. Facts of the past are still the same and give us information.

Of course she can, we just need coin. A shitload of it. When we get the money from betting on tournaments we can also start investing it in a way we are sure gets our money back. With interests.

The two of you laugh some more while she finishes up her drawing of you. Nothing of true import passes between you until she says, "You know, Lady Margery makes it a point not to favor her soldiers, hence why she often does not interact with your group. She's thankful you stopped the man, apparently some mad commoner, you're doing quite well for yourself." She giggles again and stands up, taking the finished portrait with her, teasing you and saying you won't get to see it until everyone arrives at Renly Baratheon's home.

She walks away, posture perfect like a Lady. You watch as she rounds the corner out of the hedge maze, and goes back in to the palace to reune her duties as handmaiden.

You treck back to the Palace and roam around the training room a bit, bashing the straw filled dummies with a energetic rhythm. You hadn't had as much time lately to praftice archery, but you grab a bow and loose several quivers of blunt arrows in to the target, quite average at best.

Eventually you clean up in the baths, running in to Boar, Garrett, and a few others. The usual games were played and you went off to bed.

----

The next day was chaotic as final preparations were made for the departure, throughout the day you were pulled from your day of leave as more men were needed to ready everything.

Large chests were being loaded in to a carriage, along with much simpler, straw filled wooden boxes that lined three carts full of them.

The royals were ushered in to their carriage as the sun reached high noon, and the journey began. The roads outside of Highgarden fascinated you, the farms and orchards seemed to go on for untild miles in every direction, lush fields of green and yellow and red passed by as you rode on your transport horse.

The road is thankfully calm as you travel down the reach. Beautiful fields, orchards, and farms dotted the landscape as you rode by. You daydreamed, leaning back on your horse slightly to look at the sky. You felt right. This was the world you were meant to be in. You could imagine, 10 years from now, holding some keep, with marvelous riches from your knowledge, a beautiful wife who raises your many kids who go on to learn your knowledge as well. You sigh, wondering when you'll ever get to experience trying to make them, you wonder what the other ckmrades would think of you being mostly a virgin? Horrible. You shudder and keep riding.

As night descends, the Captains agree to keep moving for a few hours past dusk, despite a nervous report from the scouts in agreement.

You watch the road as a shadow crosses, and then another. "HALT!" Yells the officer next to you, and more shadows flee down the road. Your captain orders your regiment to ride forward and apprehend the people fleeing.

Pressing your heels in to the horse, you charge forwards to find men aiming bows at the charging horses.

(Good special achieved)

Your horse takes an arrow to the head almost immediately after entering range. You collapse with the beast, thankfully unharmed, and follow your comrades, some on foot and on horse. You get closer and dodge an arrow, taking your sword and blade, and slicing the wood of three of the archers. They drop their ruined bows and draw blades, and soon the horses are trampling them.

You quickly pocket a bag of gold you find on them, and its quickly established these are the run of the mill brigands people often find in these parts. You walk back to be debriefed, thankful for your life.

And now, I have to go to school or some shit so I'll see y'all later tonight!

Dragons are OP m8. Even if they aren't full grown they take a huuuuuge toll on the enemy moral. Medieval battles usually had only 5-10% casualties and most of the soilders would be killed in the rout.

>>
>>383829
Yea, but the undead generally speaking don't have to deal with morale, which would be what we'd need them for.

As far as breaking enemy's morale during sieges, we can just start pulling out the siege works of great philosophers such as Archimedes into the play and watch them crumble.

There are many other ways to scare an enemy than just dragons if that is your goal.
Ways that do not involve dealing with a volatile bitch that might banish you the next day if she decides that she does not like your advice.
>>
>>383843
I mean i dont like Dany at allSTANNIS THE MANNIS
But the dragons are just OP, dragonglass is the only way to kill the Others and considering that dragons can destroy all their wights in moments(wights are weak to fire). The endgame is defeating the Others and saving Westeros. It would be the best to do it without the dragon bitch but i dont think its possible.
>>
>>383842
I think they exist as it is, problem with them is hitting a moving target in air.
The main problem in killing a dragon is forcing it to ground level.
Best way to deal with it I believe is to pump out shrapnel to tear it's wings to shreds and force it to ground and then finish it off with heavy hitters.

Once we can produce blackpowder, we can also start making rocket weaponry as well, which should be far more terrifying than a dragon.
>>
>>383854
The Dornish killed a dragon by piercing its eye with a big(for you) spear. Though that happend only once.
>>
>>383842
Now try shoot a dragon with that

A fasting move target while you can barely readjust your aim without taking a large amount of time
...
You'd need hundreds of them
>>
>>383853
Just build some greek firethrowers on each keep.
>>
>>383863
To be fair, that's not really an issue.
We can just set up a production line and mass produce them with unskilled workers.
Just teach each worker to produce 1 part and have them make that part all day every day and then send them to assembly line where each dude just puts part A to slot A all day every day.

Standardisation, production lines and assembly lines after all are unknown concepts in this world.
>>
>>383880
>assembly line
those workers will turn around and accuse us of slavery, we get thrown somewhere dark and never let out again
> just set up a production line
Would a college kid do that to other human beings though? Buying stuff from Bangladesh or China is one thing, but actually organising this kind of production...
>>
>>383900
>implying an assembly line automatically means slavery and sweatshops

Wtf
>>
>>383909
>>383900
We can just establish a primitive manufacture, early renaissance level. Specialist and fairly paid workers assembling high quality product at decent speed.
>>
By the way, we should ask for a loan from Elinor to increase our betting funds.
Nothing too drastic, something we can pay back after a month or so of work.
Just tell her that since it's a special occasion, you want to do some betting.

We should also borrow some money from the captain and tell him that if you win, you'll throw up a big party with lots of ale, wenches and food. (Just make sure we don't splurge all our winnings on them.)
This will make it a personal matter for both Elinor, a member of a noble house and a whole bunch of people with really sharp pointy sticks with a license to fuck up lawbreakers.

This way, they'll have to pay us even if they don't want to.
>>
>>383900
You do realize that in medieval times most jobs pay almost nothing at all to begin with and are a lot more hazardous to health than the manufactory work I'm proposing?
True, it's manual labour, but so is everything else in these days.
The only difference is that the job we offer is easy and will allow you to feed your kids.
>>
>>383933
>loan from Elinor

>>
>>383973
ok, convinced me. Might not be so bad. Still: Will the guilds just let us do stuff?
And I still like the idea of the charming guard for the Tyrells running around with more money than sense - like a normal college student.
>>
>>382915
that's not how sword fighting works.

I doubt anyone here knows how to refine ore into iron and forge it into a tool or weapon. People in the middle ages were just as smart and skilled as modern people, they simply had less of a knowledge base. Likewise, a modern guy with a month of training is unlikely to be able to beat a man that's been given the best training in swordplay for his entire life
>>
>>383984
There are ways around that.
For one, if we manage to get noble patrons, that'll get us some protection.
Having the guard on our side is good as well.

Also, it's not like we can run the entire operation without the masters of the craft themselves.
There'll be plenty of openings for managerial staff, R&D and quality control for them.
We can also bribe them a bit if that's not enough.
>>
>>384001
I'm going to guess the guy we beat was just relying on his noble physique, which means that due to not being malnutritioned during childhood, he's much better developed.

Could also be that sword is not his primary weapon.
>>
>>384001
I'm going to guess that we were halfway decent with a sword in our first encounter because we had training in how to stage fight. Maybe we did a performance of hamlet and the director really went overboard assuring that the fight scenes played out realistically.
>>
>>384060
M8 if I'm watching a play I will want realistically sword fighting. That's what really sells if for me.
>>
>>383978
Well, it's not like we "need" the loan, just ask it casually.
It's not unusual to borrow money for revelries and it's not like we'd be betting anything we can't afford to lose.

Worst case is, we'll lose the next month's salary.
>>
>>384001
>People in the middle ages were just as smart and skilled as modern people

You wipe the sweat from your brow as you help your comrades move the dead horses from the path, and head back to a show of cheers from the others. Lady Margery and her grabdmother are informed of the events, and the convoy continues onward, singing songs of the reach in an oddly harmonious roar. In sadness you realize you have to walk for the rest of the journey, as your horse was never an absolute need for the journey, just a nicety provided by the royals.

The pounded dirt and cobble road stretched on for many miles into the horizon, now filled with a grand moon. Everyone remains on high alert as camp is made, and you help hammer the stakes of you and your two temporary bunk-mates' tent and start chatting with the two men.

Geof Cantlewagon, a son of a minor noble presiding over a fishing village near Oldtown, as you come to find out, who was enlisted in the royal entourage as a reward for turning in the bounty of a rather infamous killer. He regales you and you fellow bunkee with tales of his days where he eloped with a sell sword company in Tyrosh before returning back to Westeros with a decent amount of wealth to live on saved or as he put it, "With a bag o' coin and 30 whores left pregnant behind 'im". He was a burly and daft man as you quickly came to realize, with the over exaggerations of his sexual and physical conquests and constant reference to "'is 'uge peckah".

The other bunkmmate was a squire named "Onder", a Dornish boy it seemed who was raised in The Reach. He was timid at best, but did pack a suprising amount of muscle for a lad at 16 at the greatest, clearly he had been at his training for awhile.

In the few hours of drinking shitty ale from a warm waterskin, in front of a make shift fire with your two compatriots, you're suitably drunk, laughing raccously and trading stupid tales. You tell a lot of jokes from the modern world which elicites huge laughter from the two, watching them get the punchline of "why did the chicken cross the road" and the realization of its meaning was cathartic, and really showed you how out of place you were with such... Simpler people of this time.

> The camp will be set until Dawn. You have the freedom to do as you wish at the camp, but are still expected to show decorum in front of the (presumably also piss drunk) captains. Where do you go, or do you simply sleep it off?

In your deunken state, you feel far more nostalgic of home than you have in awhile, the shocks and wounds and struggle distracting you from the thought of the past. In a bittersweet mood, you walk around the camp lightly singing some of your favorites from real life, doing well to make sure nobody overhears too much.

Drunk, but only to the point of acting a little funny, you find yourself outside the tents of the Ladies in Waiting. Inside one of them, noises of a girl rustling around her things was heard, followed by an object falling and Elinor's voice clearly saying "damn it all".

You could always enter, it seems like a good idea at the time... Or maybe its the buzz? Regardless, you want to see her.

"Elinor!" You whisper loudly outside the door, "It's me, Isaac, can you let me in? I wanted to talk to you." You hear a scared gasp, followed by a relax sigh as you saw the flap being fiddled with, and as she undid the knot, you were faced with Elinor in her night gown.

You climb in clumsily like a drunk, and she giggles, "Had a little drink or two?" You grin, explaining that the boys had ale and you were hardly the kind of guy to deny his comrades a good time. She laughs again at your brazen drunkenness and leans in whispering "I have a secret," your ears perk up, lI drank a lot of wine tonight to help me sleep, the tent floors are so uncomfortable." And unmistakably the scent of sweet wine wafted from her mouth, with the half, empty skill haphazardly slightly spilled and shoddily cleaned up in the corner.

"This innocent lady, drunk?" You groan sarcastically, "what next, white walkers?" You kick yourself inwardly, that stupid saying you picked up from a friend slipping out in the fogginess. Elinor, however, had a grand time with that joke and was nearly crying at "how a- accu- hahaahaha -rate it- it- haha is."

The moon is rising slowly from the horizon now, nearing 11 p.m., the wineskin is still with some volume if you were to take a swig.

Hey, I just skimmed the thread and wanted to throw in my vote for talking/getting word to Varys as soon as we are certain that we can do it safely. He is the one who can use our knowledge most effectively and who might actually take us seriously.
>>
>>385405
Personally, I've come to enjoy her company quite a bit. So who knows where it goes?

Varys is also a loyalist and I'd rather not give the crazy bitch any guns.
>>
>>385552

Which crazy bitch are we talking about here?
>>
>>385589
Dany. She is crazy and impulsive. If she does not like your advice, she will throw you away regardless of how useful you have been to her.
>>
>>385621

But we have useful advice for her, not to mention that we will probably want her story to play out naturally until she gets the Unsullied army and then try to turn her towards the Seven Kingdoms from there, we probably wont meet her for years to come and by then she's mellowed out a lot.

Varys is the best combination of powerful, secretive, and inquisitive while also being the least likely to throw us away once done with us.
>>
>>385632
>But we have useful advice for her
True, from which we stand to gain absolutely nothing.
>not to mention that we will probably want her story to play out naturally until she gets the Unsullied army and then try to turn her towards the Seven Kingdoms from there, we probably wont meet her for years to come and by then she's mellowed out a lot.
What are you basing any of this on? The show is not canon, we are going by the books.
Best case scenario is if we manage to have her assassinated as soon as possible and then pick up the dragon eggs for ourselves and have them imprint on us instead.

If that fails, assasinate anyone worth a damn surrounding her.
She is so woefully incompetent that she will not get anything done herself.

Conversation took many turns for the next hour, what it was like being a guard, what a handmaiden actually does (turns out its to dress, bathe, and put the cosmetics on their mistress until the maid gets married.) , and the life you planned on living. She had found confidence in your last conversations clearly, as she seemed to have a brighter look on her inevitable arranged marriage. The night soon wound down and you excused yourself for the night, heading back to camp to drink large amounts of water from your water skin, pissing in the trees, and passing out in the cramped tent.

---
Trumpets announced the dawn and both you and your two roommates got untangled from the awkward, gangly mess of the night, quickly complete the two S's of the morning (Shaving and Shitting as your friends call it), and broke down camp in the span of 30 minutes.

The road again was harsh, but you were growing used to the soreness in your feet and calves, often jogging lightly to keep your mind off of the road. Thankfully, the summer heat was dulled by a number of dark clouds, not thunder heads by any means, but large enough that they provided shade.

---

An eventless day of trecking finally breaks into camp, and a similar routine emerges, you get drunk on ale from the quickly dwindling supply of your tent-mates, joined Elinor for a late night chat, drank water, and collapsed.

And so life was for four long, leg breaking days of walking, a sunburn had developed on the back of your neck, tender to the touch and an annoyance in a leather jerkin, as the taught material grated against the irritated skin. Furthermore, any unfamiliarity with camp life was quickly resolved, in all honesty, it was fun. For all intents and purposes the Reach was fully in peace, and the soldiers celebrated as such. The usual somber and hated mood of army camps in war you had lived with the conception of seemed alien to this, so much revelry happened on the road, even the Royals were rumoured to drink in their carriages the entire trip, explaining the odd stops when one of Mace Tyrells sons puked off the side of his horse. You were growing to love these people in an odd way. (Cont)
>>
---
Finally after a week's worth of walking, camping, and complaining, the towers of Storm's End, current castle of Renly Baratheon, Lord Paramount of the Stormlands.

The massive structure glinted in the sunlight off of massive worn stones that seemed to meld with the very land that it hung on. Parapets with soldiers on patrol lined every wall in sight, gatehouses regularly being lowered and raised to accommodate new visitors.

As your banners start to come in to view to the castle, theirs become clear to you: hundreds of Baratheon Stag banners waved in the light, arranged in a crescent pattern, while an attractive young man stood in similarly stylized armor of antlers and stags. The royal procession soon came close, and the Tyrells began exiting the boxy things. Margery as always elicited such a feeling of want in you, and today was no different as she smiles to Renly, closing the gap between them with an almost awkward hug.
---
Entering the city, Renly's host leads you to a barracks that housed the castle's retinue, a big hall-like structure lined with beds and hammocks, connected to an armory.

You settle in, and get back to the Captains.

"You take your pick of the postings today Isaac for your service on the road. No man was quicker to react than you,"

You picked out an easier detail, Margery's, and were soon following and oggling the princess as she was led on a tour by a steward.

Towards the back of the pack, you and Geof shot the shit. And like everyone in this retinue it seemed, the conversation was often focused on how many times Margery could last in a night.

---

Finally, the shift comes to an end. And you are in free reign of your time for the next 12 hours.

> Welcome to Storm's End, what next?

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

>>386799
He competes in the tournament in the books, so does Loras, Gregor AND Sandor Clegane, Jamie, Barristan Selmy, Thoros of Myr, Berric Dondarion, and a shit ton of other main characters
>>
>>386801
''Twas a jest m'lord
>>
>>386801
While we wait in the shadows betting all our wages to one character that wins. We can do whole types of betting, putting money on who wins first second third.
But that will play a risk of cheater shit. So we could just bet all on the winner.
>>
>>386803
I kno but I'm hype, so much intriguey shit happens in this scene in the books so we have a lot to go off of - Like Loras riding a mare in heat to fuck up Gregor's horse during the joust, we'll see a red priest, we know every tilt and win/loss.
>>
>>386805
Just use more than one bookie and your sound, still nervous use several names, gambling back in this age works on tickets we'll be fine.
>>
>>386830
Do that since I want all the money we can get. Also that many bookies and how big the tournament is no one will find out. Let's not tell anyone of our winning. Soldiers are known to bet so we have to white lie to the other troops
>>
Once we get the money, what's our plan next?
We can probably hitch a ride from king's landing to anywhere really.
If we want to go Stannis the Mannis route, we could come up with a plan to extract the Stark kids and deliver them to Stannis, which means there will be no king in the north.
>>
>>386951
Additionally, we could try to steal or buy the dragon eggs from Illyrio Mopatis before they make it to Dany, which would take us to Pentos.
>>
>>386953
not this bit bud. To far plus will draw far too much attention plus no where near enough time.

Might I suggest the following. Begin investing that money into better gear for our self and those close. buy loyalty and favors.

I like what you said about Kings Landing. I suggest we make our move when things are about to go down, we can be there with Renly. We can warn Stark and tell him that the Gold Cloaks will betray him, tell him to have other people present when Robs on his last legs, don't confront Cersei and blow it. We can take Sansa and maybe even Arya then and there so if we can't save Ned we already have the girls safe...Maybe grab Gendry if we bump into him. If we need Stark to trust us and he refuses we just lean in and say "Promise me Ned"... if the think skulled northerner say we know the secret that no one is even looking for

If we manage to get the girls sent away we should hang around in the background and if needs be with the help of Vary's get Stark out of the cells and smuggle him out of town.

A Stark jail break could be fun.
>>
>>386984
>If we need Stark to trust us and he refuses we just lean in and say "Promise me Ned"... if the think skulled northerner say we know the secret that no one is even looking for
ehh?
repeat in english please
>>
>>386984
The main problem with this though is that Varys and Littlefinger might be pissed at us.
Question is should we kill them?
Littlefinger will keep trying to plunge Westeros to chaos if we let him be.

Our main strenght right now is that nobody knows of us, or our motivations.
There may be suspicions that we are an agent of someone because of our learning, but nobody knows of whom.

We should come up with a suitable lie to tell them if people start wondering why a nobody was able to perform such a masterstroke with such surgical precision.
>>
>>386990
Something something promise to his wife.
>>
>>386990
It's a hint to the last words he said to his Sister, that we know John Snow is a Targ and since he was the only person there we gotta be something unique to know.
>>
>>387001
Kill little finger but for the love of god make sure no one knows it was us. Vary's keep alive, while dodgy as fuck he is in it for the realm.
>>
>>387016
>>387005
oh that

I was confused for a sec
>>
I think we should pursue occult knowledge as well.
Magic is real after all and returning to the world.

We probably already know that blood, life and death are keys to help unlocking the secrets of magic from our lore.

If we figure out that shit, we can forge an Empire.
>>
>>387028
I'd suggest not getting too into magic...aside from the fact that vary's would have us killed off, the Maester's will not like us that much. I suggest we stick with our plan for Tyrell rule. From there we can build and spread our influence.
>>
>>387018
Blowing gun, needle and poison should do the trick.
Ultimately since we technically have nothing to gain from his death, we aren't a suspect and without any eyewitnesses, there is not a whole lot they can do unless they get on your trail with trained dogs before the trail grows cold.

However, get on a boat and even that is out of the window.
Only way they can get on your trail after that is if they figure out who sold you the stuff, but if you got it from a guy that's no longer in town, well...
>>
>>387045
Tyrells were from the start on the side of the Baratheons with marriage to Renly.
If we save Starks, Ned will back Stannis.
Renly will probably not go out on his own if Stannis has serious backing.
Tyrells will probably agree to ally with the same deal they had before seeing that people think Stannis is shooting blanks.
>>
>>387058
mmnn most likely.
>>
>>387065
If we get the Iron Bank to back Stannis as well early on in order to protect their investments, that's going to practically seal the deal.
>>
>>387074
At this point the crown is Baratheon so they already are supporting them what the issue is, is Tywin Lanister.
>>
>>387074
I also just realized, we are infact one man, we need allies, we need the Tyrells to trust us and Renly to so we can send people to do tasks. We can't do this alone, we need to stay ambiguous too
>>
>>387080
I rate we keep serving the tyre's
Save ned
Fuck a princess
Become a knight
Help jon snow
>>
>>387080
>>387099
If we serve the Tyrell and save Ned we'll have to convince him to support Renly baratheon instead of Stannis the mannis "heretic purge" Baratheon.
It might be hard but not impossible.
I mean he's for the legitimate succession line but like Renly said himself the old isn't always the most fit to be king.
I'm sure that by talking about the mad king, wildfire caches and Jon snow being clearly the calmest and most thought out of his sons he might start understanding.
Tho don't think you guys can blackmail him into joining, while revealing Jon snow identity could cause a shock it would not be a problem for Ned, in fact i'm sure he's gonna do if we save him, the only person who wanted to kill all Targaryens is dead.
So yeah securing maybe the Vale and the north to join Renly's side is the best thing we can do for the Tyrell.
Dorne will surely join if there is support against the crown to get vengeance on the Lannisters.
>>
>>387077
If Stannis hadn't lost the battle of King's landing, the war would have been over then and there.
>>
>>387109
Renly thought that nobody should be allowed to read books except Maesters.
He is not a good candidate for a king, except in terms of popularity.

However, we are preparing for a zombie apocalypse.
This is why we need a guy like Stannis.
>>
>>387099
You know, if we stole or bought the dragon eggs and managed to ship them to Jon, we could both fortify the wall and prevent the crazy bitch from using them for her personal gain.
>>
>>387144
>Stannis "i sacrifice everything i have for nothing" Baratheon
No he's not a good king nor is he going to be able to face white walkers, all that he would be is a godamn fraud of azor ahai, also the sept would cause much trouble and the Tyrells would end up fighting him.
Renly stand with the Tyrell.
Stannis stand with his mad ambition to be a prophetic hero and will go as far as sacrificing his brother for it and maybe his daughter too (not sure in the books).
Stannis is not a good candidate for king and we don't need him if we have Ned to guard the north.
>>
>>387160
The show isn't canon.
>>
>>387139
>>387144
>>387154
We ain't getting them man, worth to much and way to far away for us to do that and other things.

>>387109
Pretty much nails what we gonna do. If we have Stannis not kill Renly via our intervention somehow. Get the Tyrell not to assist the Lanisters but aid the other side and it's all over. Be nice if we could get Dorne on side by offering to give them the Lanisters we take...
>>
>>387160
Also, he never bought into the whole thing about him being Azor Ahai.
Nor did he burn his daughter for that matter.
I think the only guy he ever really burned was that fucker wildling who wore bones.

He doesn't even think that his magic sword is much good for anything except as a nightlamp.
>>
>>387182
We don't necessarily need to involve Dorne in the war at all.
Oberyn does however have a grudge against Lannisters, if we'd sent him a call to arms, he might be inclined to have a go at the Cleganes.
>>
>>387182
Renly will never give up or let the tyrell support his brother instead of him and you know that.
So either Ned will fight most the throne (instead of picking sides with renly or stannis) or he'll support Stannis making him technically against the Tyrell.
This is a three side war.
Tyrell+Renly vs Lannister scum vs Stannis the Mannis.
Stannis whilst being a good Commander and an honest and really a godamn fraud but at least he knows it, he'll never be able to handle the Iron throne tho.
He's gonna go mad as soon as he has no more goals.
By the time the white walker come he'll be at war with the septons and the Tyrells.
Really we should support Renly instead it would limit the bloodshed and he is far more popular as a King and he'll not fucking prozeletize the whole continent with R'hollor which is the god of light and child sacrificing which we don't need while we're already struggling with white walkers.
Also i hope everyone plan on sending all the wildfire caches to the wall.
>>
>>387253
Stannis did not sacrifice his child nor anyone else's.
All of that was made up by HBO.
>>
>>387253
Also, it's not like everyone in the seven kingdoms follows the seven to begin with.
Whole lot of the realms still hold the old gods.
This is just another god in the bucket.
As long as he doesn't try to stir the hornet's nest, which considering how little stock he puts into his religion in the first place is pretty unlikely, all that's gonna happen is that a bunch of mormons in red will think he is Jesus without actually having any real power, because he doesn't buy into it.
>>
>>387253
Also, Renly is going to run the country worse than Robert.
Only way I can agree into supporting him is if we gain control of the small council.

Renly just spends all his time jousting with his Knights literally and figuratively.
He's not going to be much help either with the crippling debts, the white walkers or the crazy lizard lady.
>>
>>387449
>run the country worse than Robert
Is that possible? :)
And Maegery will actually run things, so all's well or at least better.
>>
>>387494
Not in this situation. If after it was just gonna be peace and no catasrpohies then it would be fone, but its not. We have white walkers, crazy dragon people, Ironborn and zealots to deal with. We need a Military man like Stannis on the throne, having Renly be the heir is a much better position because he can give Stannis and his rule good pr without being incharge of anything
>>
>>387494
Do you honestly expect Tyrells to care much once the white walkers start pouring through the wall?
Reachlands are as deep in the south as it goes.
True, Margaery is pretty damn competent when it comes getting her way.
Problem is, we don't know what her endgame is.

We do know that she does at least care about keeping up appearances, so in that sense doing business with her wouldn't be difficult.
>>
Might I suggest we never truly hold a small council position...that we are simply an ever present guard to the Tyrells. I suggest IF we manage to hold most things together we form the following

>Hand of the King: Oberyn Martell
Seduces both Dorne into being bloody useful and someone to"bent" Renly if needs be

>Master of Whispers: Varys
The system works here

>Master of Laws: Stannis (if we can save him)
The dude is the definition of Lawful Neutral

>Master of Ships: ???
Working on it

>Master of Coin: ???
Working on it (we need Little Finger dead asap, don't tell or hire anyone...we have to do it, we can't be bought)

>Lord Comander: Ser Barrison
Seriously keep the guy, dudes got experiance

>Grand Maester: ???
Drop the Lanister sympathiser asap

>The White Walker Problem
Once we secure power we start mining all the bloody Obsidian we can out of Dragon Stone, Second we send some Pyromancers up to the wall, they can produce Wyldfire there bit by bit. As for Military, standing armies don't work well in this era so I suggest instead we begin rotating Troops to staff the wall keeps, they ain't Nights Watch but they will have to do. It will reduce stress for the Watch too. And as an added bonus troops will get used to cold weather fighting while leaving enough rested to deal with Danni should she show up.
>>
>>387531
>Stannis
>good pr
Yeah, Stannis needs good PR, as noone, really noone, seems to like him...
the Royal Fleet and family of his wife (Florent) declared for him... other than that, he only binds the few Dragonstone houses to his rule.

>>387576
>Barristan

>Obsidian

Y'know, I think it's funny how everyone is planning so far into our future when we're still a shitty guardsman.
It'll be even better when someone fucks up and we die.
>>
>>387881
I totally agree with you. I don't even think we have a plan to rank up from guardsman. It's as simple as
>give elinor a list of the tournament winners
>tell her if we start being right, she should show the list to Marg/QoT
>we're important now
Boom
>>
>>387881
I agree we should worry about this stuff when we money and influence and we aren't some guard
>>
>>387889
Make it into a mysterious letter with the cover saying:
"All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts."

>Inside there is a script reading out the roles and lines of all the participants of the tournament as if it was but a play all along.
Make sure they open it just before the opening act to make it an extremely unnerving and surreal experience.
>>

I do believe we need to find away to elevate ourselves beyond being a guard. Our strength is our knowledge of the world, not our minuscule combat prowess.
>>
>>387973
Easiest route would probably be to whore our self to renly/loras/both, since we're relativity pretty by aSoIaF standards

And getting cozy with Loras isn't a bad idea. He's his father's favorite, and it's handy to have a lord of the Reach around.

Obsidian is a stone, it can't be used for swords, it may be able to stop a white walker weapon but it'll still break from the force of the weapons colliding which is why the Obsidian found north of the wall is in the form of small daggers/Arrow heads

If we do gather obsidian to be used as a weapon it will be best formed into throwing knives, arrow/bolt heads and daggers.
>>
>>388508
How does the obsidian kill the walkers, exactly, is it just death by touch? maybe we could powder it and launch obsidian death wind
>>
>>388508
Their also the ancient beaners tactics putting it in wooden clubs with obsidian.
>>
>>388508
If we're going to go obsidian weapons we should at least consider going full Mexican about it
>>
>>388508
Spearhead is probably the best use, realistically. It's a weapon we'll probably be trained with (what kind of guard doesn't learn how to use a spear?) and, lets face it, you don't really want to get closer to a White Walker than you need to.
>>
>>388570
if they hit the wood part with their swing, there goes the obsidian head, it would be touched by the weapon shattering magic but the shaft will be shattered.
>>
>>388594
also true of arrows, the difference is, there's a chance of using a spear twice.
>>
>>388665
I don't think the white walkers are bushido samurai masters or whatever and can slice an arrow out of the air which is flying at you full speed.
>>
>>388688
You sure about that?
In one of the books a white walker cuts down a few arrows before they reach him.
>>
>>388771
I don't really give a shit my original argument was that obsidian can't be used in sword form and would be better used as throwing knives, arrow/bolt heads daggers and yes also spear heads.

I don't really care if they can cut down arrows or not.
>>
>>388843
Using obsidian in the form of a sword is 100% possible, what are you sperging about?
>>
>>388843
Tell that to Dwarf Fortress.
>>
>>388863
Obsidian can be made into a sword but it'd be a shitty sword that won't last very well in a conflict, if you're blocking a strike the obsidian will eventually crack and shatter unlike a steel sword which bends and shakes from impact allowing it to keep its shape obsidian is stone which doesn't bend and shake, it shatters, have you seen a stone sword used in real life? No at best they've been axe heads, arrow and spear heads.

Dwarf Fortress, work of fiction, the science behind a sword being made of obsidian, Fact.

Game of Thrones, work of fiction.
Obsidian swords are 10/10, don't know who told you otherwise.
Anyone that uses a sword to block a blow isn't that smart

Does any one know ofif we are playing as if Valerian steel is magic or simply really well made pattern welded\damascus type stuff
>>
>>389243
I really hope it's not made of magic bullshittium and is just a really good steel. I'll be happy if it's even just a steel alloy that's made with something that can actually be obtained.
>>
>>389285
Nah lorewise valyrian steel is pretty magical. You need magic to mend it and it has magical effects
>>
>>388938
Bruh obsidian is brittle rock, you can make a sword out of it like the Aztecs did by locking smaller pieces into a wooden frame though.
>>
>>389308
Obsidian in Minecraft is one of the hardest materials.

>>
I'm trying to pick up the lore as i go, cool quest so far. Good job OP!
>>
>>389243
Well, magic does exist, but if I had to warrant a guess, Valyrian steel is just an alloy of steel that has obsidian as one of the components and it's magical properties come from the Obsidian itself.
