INTRODUCTION - You are Isaac, a college student who has been inexplicably transplanted in the Song of Ice and Fire universe: Game of Thrones, around the time of the start of the novels. In the first few weeks, we got in good with the Tyrell house guards, whose ranks we quickly joined as a cover to be near the nobles for when we wish to use our knowledge of the Game of Thrones universe. Currently, we sit in Storm's End, Capital of the Stormlands, and home of Renly Baratheon, Lord Paramount of the Stormlands, as Margery and Renly court eachother for a secret marriage alliance between the Tyrell's and Renly's Baratheons.

> If you don't know the lore that well, this game takes a preconceived idea that the MC has perfect knowledge and memory of events in the books, ergo feel free to read articles on the Wiki about the subjects mentioned if you feel lost.

Personally I would recommend two links: the first is a run down of the Tournament of the Hand, the tourney we will soon be observing in the coming weeks, and a detailed understanding of the Cuty it is held in- King's Landing.

Storm's End, as you quickly came to realize, was a sprawling place. Not only did you usualy flurry of Ladies and Lords traveling its grounds, but many people from ever walk of life seemed to be working at the docks outside the wall. The place gives you a foreboding feeling of the times to come, you place your hand on a weathered stone gargoyle of sorts and look to the skyline. There, the sun shined brightly on your face, warming you ever so slightly as you took your sparring stance, trading numerous blows with fellow guards for morning training. This, of course, made way for an exhausted studying of your alchemical book. The heavy hide-bound tome had just started getting in to the meatier part behind the creation of one of the first poisons it teaches, a simple concotion of wild berries that induces severe vomitting and nausea with anyone inflicted, a technique it says is suprisingly effective in battle.

---
Your shift starts soon, and hurridly you and you bunkmates are frantically preparing as per usual. Thw shift itself? Eh. Spent some time following Margery's carriage around as she did her schtick with the poor, no assassination attempts this time, and the location you were headed to unknown.
---

>>
>>390053
Eventually your procession makes it to the cliffside, Margery and Renly began making nice, having quiet conversations in the distance with arms interlocked like the husband and wife they would tragically never get to be. That was the burden of knowing the possible future, you mused, everyone you know you've known better than sometimes they know themselves. Margery, Ned Stark, Mace Tyrell, all of them seem less like Nobles, and more like cogs in a powerful, powerful machine that if ever changed, could lead to some catastrophically different.

The royal couple came closer in to earshot, and you tried your damndest to eavesdrop. Margery's sing-songy voice was muffled by the distance, but it only took one word to realize the subject "Alliance" was often brought up, and the gears in your head start turning.

The books had never said much about Margery and Renly before their introductions, but frim what you knew the marriage to Renly happened well after Ned Stark was killed. The Tyrells and Baratheons (under Renly, of course) seemed to have something sketchy going on, and try as you might it was hard to see this planning as anything but a coup to put the Tyrell's candidate in power.

> Do we try to do or find anything here after our shift but before we leave to King's Landing, maybe a possible visit to Elinor Tyrell or other friends?
>>
>>390054
Perhaps we visit Elinor and see if we can get her to talk about Margery
>>
>>390054
Well I can safely say i'm not going to sleep.
>>
Maybe put a bug in Elinor's ear to find out what we can through her. Find out anything we can on our own without being way too obvious about it.

Start making a web, muvh like that of a spymaster. Forge connections and pull info when we need it.
>>
Also maybe you should of picked a better time for this velo
>>
>>390054
>Elinor Tyrell
She seems to be our go-to-person for possible information about Maegery and Co. I could imagine that they even need reliable guards/people for sending messages and stuff. And as handmaiden she can testify that we're good people, no?

Keeping good relations with out Royal Guard colleagues and former Guard friends is important too.
>>
>>390063

Maybe make friends with the Baratheon Maester too? Or at least see him once.

"That tall handsome guard? Yes, we can trust him! Didn't even violate little Elinor here. He can take our top-secret messages to people and guard us when we're having super-secret meetings." :) the near future I hope

The Chamber of the Ladies in Waiting was a common fixture throughout the richer holdings of the Seven Kingdoms, a place where Ladies and their maidens can escape from the chaos of a busy keep, to rest and refresh their beauty.

Usually it was a Large bedroom/wardrobe filled with the supplies the ladies need for beautification, but Storm's End's was something else entirely. Your leather jerkin stretched oddly as you climbed a short stairway, no more than 10 steps at the most, and arrived at a ornate marble doorway, inlaid with what appeared to be Deer's antlers pressed in beautiful designs.

As a guard, you were allowed in to the Atrium, a grand thing with couches lining the walls and a heady sweet incense burning. Quickly you find Elinor, again sketching with a piece of burned charcoal. This time, as you look over her shoulder, you notice the picture is far more abstract tha the last, a girl, drawn in a scared pose, holds the shattered pieces to a heart of some sort in her hands, and a large, smiling and happy figure was bending up to pick up the pieces.

" I like it!" You announce, shocking her so badly she physically jumps from the chair, flinging the charcoal somewhere in the distance.

"Jerk!" She says, slapping you lightly on the cheek as a joke. You hug, and chat about the events of the day. From what she tells you, you're both beginning to realize your duties are greatly similar in scope if not implementation - and that was following Margaery wherever she went, you protecting her from the physical dangers and Elinor and staff from the social and emotional ones. Different weapons and armor, but a life of conflict in the end.

"... and the Lady Margaery gave every one of those children a hot meal that night." You nodded as Elinor finished telling you about the charity trip when they first visited the Capital of the Seven Kingdoms.

"I wanted to ask you a few questions about her actually, Margaery." Without any push back Elinor smiles, straightening herself up in curiosity.

> "Yeah! What would you like to know about the Lady?"
>>
Thinking about it have we been kept track of because there is no way some random person can just join the guard and not have red flags go off in someone's head
>>
>>390099
Yeah no somebody has definitely noticed we're weird as fuck, but I don't think anyone would see us as a threat, yet. All they know is we're a peasent boy who can read

What would you rate her out of 10?

When will I meet her?
>>
>>390098
> "Yeah! What would you like to know about the Lady?"
"She knows that Renly fellow is more interested in her brother, right?" She doesn't know and we tell her, makes us visible in the eyes of her Majesty, right?

>>390099
>>390103
Maybe they think we're a creature of Varys or someone. Better to keep track of us - maybe that's the reasoning (right, OP, didn't forget that, right?! :) )

http://archived.moe/qst/thread/379810/
>>
>>390111
Erm, rate her? Sounds strange... this scale from 1 to 10...
Meet her? We're meeting her every day, we're one of her guards. She's just not speaking to us... as we're just a simple Royal Guard.
>>
>>390112
> http://archived.moe/qst/thread/379810/
Super in-depth planing, ideas, whatever in the first thread.

>>390104
>poorfag
Could also be that. We're not important, so noone really cares. Maybe their spymaster does though. Or maybe he's not Varys so he doesn't.
>>
>>390111
>When will I meet her?
Was't said she doesn't really talk with the guards? She wouldn't have a reason to meet us currently.

And the rating question is kinda silly to ask.
>>
>>390098
>As a guard, you were allowed in to the Atrium
Comes in really handy to be allowed into semi-private areas, "I am a Guard for Lady Maegery Tyrell, let me through!" :)

>girl, drawn in a scared pose, holds the shattered pieces to a heart of some sort in her hands, and a large, smiling and happy figure was bending up to pick up the pieces.
Oh, how cute is that. Protagonist is her knight in shining armour...
>>
>>390124
>>390118

well no one is asking any decent questions
we know everything why are we even asking again?
>>
>>390138
I guess the questions should indicate that we know more and could/can be important
>>
>>390138
>we know everything why are we even asking again?
We're talking to Elinor to improve our standing with Maegery. Elinor is M.'s friend and so that should offer us an in into Westeros power, no?

>>390143
Well then suggest something damnit
>>
So we asking >>390112

And

>when do you think she'll ever speak to me?

>also ask when renly and maergary are getting married

Pretty much these. If anons agree should we ask when would we be able to talk to her in a secure way. Also make it clear we have no crush on Margery... We need to think what to do with this knowledge we have before it becomes worthless.

Your vision goes crimson as a sharp instantaneous pain blasts through your head, making you realize a quiet string of curse words under your breath, the pain was gone as soon as it was felt, but it had hurt worse than any injury you had sustained thus far.

Physically, you were fine as far as you could tell, and when the concerned Elinor thought you were having a fainting attack like she had seen her scared friends do before. You quickly explain it was a painful headache that just came to a conclusion and is quicmly on its way to fading. You grit through the shock and put on a happy face, and the conversation quickly turns back to her.

"What if I told you I knew a secret... Would you keep it for me?" You whisper, getting closer to her ear, brushing away a small piece of hair.

She blushes and nods furiously. "You know I would!" She nervously quips, she seems intrigued but flattered by your boldness.

"Watch for yourself to prove I know a secret or to, but that Renly fellow does seem to lack an attraction to his supposed... Bethrothed." Her eyes went still and met yours, her instincts as a lady of the court kicking in slightly.

"How did you know about L-" she stops herself from blurting out Loras' name but you know vey well that Loras is the one buggering the Stag Lord, and not his intended.

"-loras." You finish for her and she again blushes. She seems to relax a little before looking away again, losing her iron courtly grip on your eyes for a second.

"You are so smart..." she mumbles, you almost are annoyed at how generically... Debutante this girl was, you understood that was how she was raised, to be this ditsy girl who felt so strongly for her first close male friend. Annoying, but she was attractive, and well-connected, with a resounding 'fuck it why not' you decide to deal with it, as she was a very sweet and kind girl when she dropped the courtly armor. She recovers from her exaggerated swoon before meeting your eyes yet again, "but be careful, I care about you so this will never leave my lips, as I have seen and heard Margaery herself confirm what you say..." A look of trust returns with burning ferocity in her eyes like before, you are utterly convinced she would not betray you.

> You shock yourself out of the feeling and look at her, now that she realizes you must know a lot more than others think, what do you ask of her?

There's also the possibility that they think we're a spy and she's trying to figure out whose, because we've not even had a year of service and our background record extends to: beggar who asked for a job in the guard.
Now, as if this wasn't shady enough to start with, that beggar is extremely cultured and civilized individual to the point that he's not out of place amongst nobles.

They might think we're working for a hidden benefactor as we did protect them from an assailant.

I imagine that Margery is adaptive if nothing else in matters of the bed, correct knows that the men folk talk about what she is like as it is. I know that many a folk say that behind every good lord is a lady, but I wonder if our Lady wouldn't be the Lord in this relationship

You lean back, resting your hands on the bench where you both now sat in a back corner of the room. "I know I trust you greatly. Elinor, no matter what you think of me, know I care about you and will always do so as your true friend in this world." Pulling a sappy speech from some play you once rehearsed by day and performed by night. She smiled and blushed her blush, beckoning you to move past the flattery.

"What I wanted to ask you, it concerns the Lady Margaery, why is it that she so easily accepted me into her personal royal guard? From what I have heard about that girl she is too clever to do that without some motive..." You reason to her, the look of concentration on Elinor's face only belied how much thought she was putting into her next words.

"She... Has taken an interest in you. The Captain that you originally were receieved by told her about you, the begga' boy who spoke like a little lord." She whispers, leaning closer to you to ensure the words stay silent between you.

"An interest, so she's keeping me close?" You whisper back, wrapping an arm in a friendly manner around her back to help the quiet manner of speech.

She adjusts against your arm and speaks back, "Yes, she was planning on having you arrested and interrogated for being a spy... But you saved her life twice so she's curious to see what you'll do next. She thinks you a strange ally in the game." The news shocks you, you hadn't even meant to save her life, pure flukes at the time that you happened to be the closest meat bag next to the targets. Though the knife through the thigh probably proved a little loyalty.

> Do you say anything else?

Ah the great game...so she intends to enter the game of thrones, welp I knew that was coming a mile off. All the same, my loyalty is too House Tyrell.

It sucks but I think we are going to have to take a bit of a leap of faith otherwise shits gonna go down before we are in any position to do so.
>>
>>390396
Technically yes, it's possible.
Life, Death and Blood are the keys that can help unlocking the secrets of magic as far as they understand it.
>>
>>390446
I actually suggest we don't touch magic, we are gonna be getting close to the Maesters and such whom are against magic, we want Varys atleast neutral and he is anti-magic too.

I think the act of magic requires more of a sacrifice than life death or blood soecifically. It doesn't necessarily require a sacrifice to perform magic or learn of it.
If there is magic in your blood, you can cast magic innately.
Tapping into magics of other living beings is possible as seen with the weirwoods.
Death itself may create a sort of miasma of magic as well.
One can spend one's own life in a way, to perform miracles as well as Thoros of Myr did.

Key is tapping into the magic that exists and doing so is possible without bloodshed or sacrifice.
>>
>>390543
Now that could be an awesome scene some strange Tyrell guard sat next to a fire with a lyre, singing and playing the sound of silence. Move the hearts of all present. Just picture it, the fire crackling in the night Issacs voice the only one there singing softly.

"'A strange ally in the Game' you say?" The irony of her verbage isn't lost on you, but you keep a steady look. "Good. My friend, I have to ask that if she questions you of my motives... Tell her I bet for her hand in the Game." You stand up, walking out of the atrium, as you put a hand on the door leading to the exit, you call back over your shoulder "She really thinks I'm a lordling? Nice." She laughs and calls back.

"Royalty suits you Mister Isaac!"

The next day you can tell your message was recieved. After swords and bow training you were sent in formation to await Lady Margaery's command outside the keep. A march was to be called soon. Her gaze was fixed on you the entire time, eyes afire with curiosity and a genuine smirk befit of charismatic and clever goddess.

The woman's gaze was fucking horrible. You had never seen such shrewd eyes screaming that they knew something dangerous right at you. You visibly sweat in your armor, making it hard to keep from breathing heavy, which adds to the nervous energy in you.

Boar looks stiff as a board, whispering "she lookin at you, you're fucked rightly" you gulp and she finally ends the stare, speaking to the crowd. "My loyal Guards and soldiers. On the 'morrow we will travel to King's Landing, and will be enjoying the festivities of the Hand's Tournament, that our host and my great friend Renly Baratheon will be competing in, along with my brother Loras, for that matter. I hope to see you ready tomorrow for a quick march, we must arrive as fast as we can. Don't get into any trouble." She looks again right in your eyes and it's hard not to flinch. She then turns, and leaves the pavilion.

Have we met the Baratheon Maester yet? Seems like knowing Maesters is useful, they have the knowledge, ability to send messages (ravens) etc.
Other than that, no idea really: Waiting for the Tourney to bet and win :).

You run your left hand through your hair as you look back behind you. You've been lost in this maze of a castle trying to find the Maester's lab for an hour now, not many servants were around, and you dared not bother the nobles in the many public rooms or court. Niw you found yourself in the old areas of the castle, servant's quarters and abandoned storages, it was quite lonely and creepy back here.

Finally, a young serving girl comes around the corner and you quickly stop her, asking for the way to Renly's Maester, Maester Jurne.

"Oh yes, just go down to the basement doors, turn left, big white limestone door, can't miss it." She grins, "Hey, whatchur name? Haven't seen you before cuties. I'm Bessa" she curties with a mischevious giggle and you prepare your response -

"Nice to meet you Bessa, I'm sure we'll be seeing more of eachother soon, but I really must go, it's urgent." She pouts, but you do your best to ignore the common-girl's advances. "Fine, spend your time with old men and not Bessa," she winks at you and resumes with whatever unknown task she was up to, leaving you to head back to the Master's lab and civilization.

The door to the lab was exactly as she had described it, tall white limestone door. The block that had been cut to fit the frame was carved intricately with scenes depicting Brandon the Builder raising Storm's End from the rock and sea beneath it, failing, and making a greater creation.

You rap out four knocks with your knucles, hearing the sound of a middle aged man rummaging with bottles. You press against the heavy stone and it swings slowly open, a light scraping sound filling the hall as traces of the door scratched the well worn stone beneath.

Maester Jurne, as you recall, was Renly Baratheon's Maester, until his death by Stannis' magic. He was a minor character who, as far as you know, did nothing of import for the storyline. But the Maesters were the grey rats of Westeros after all, and having access to their nest through a few friends couldn't hurt.

"Maester, Jurne is it?" You call in greeting to the man who is carefully tending a bottle over an open flame, he pokes his head up and you're taken a little aback. His voice comes off as quite old, but he looked like someone no more than the age of 35, an apprent strong back with good posture, but with grayed hair lining his face and head.

"Yes, that's me. And you would be...?" He asks, hand extended. You grip it, "Isaac, member of the Tyrell's royal guard." You nearly pop a boner at being able to say something bad ass like that.

He nods, and asks your purpose. You explain your relationship with Maester Garo at Highgarden, how the two of you were student and teacher for a few shirt months. Jurne smiles fondly, "Garo is such a strange face." The man croaks in his old voice, "-so obssesed with his teaching, the man has always thrived off of having a pupil, you've done him a great service." He places a hand on your shoulder, "come, let me show you my experiment..."

----

For the next few hours the two of you tinker with different ingredients, many of which can be found throughout the Seven Kingdoms, and the final product, a thick, teal colored gel sat bubbling lightly in the glass bowl. It felt smooth to the touch, with a feeling of warmth beneath the skin.

made with mint and the bodies of the stinging-jellies in the water. Kills rot, and helps to congeal the blood. Very, very hard to find anywhere outside of the Stormlands.

"I teach you this as a favor to my Colleague. He's a lonely man, and it warms my heart to see academics still gracing the keep. Keep this formula to us three and us three alone, it'll be our friendly little secret." He filtered the goo in to two large bottles that would easily fit in the bottom of your rucksack.

You bid Maester Jurne a goodnight and head back in the halls. And there she stands outside the door - 'Bessa'. She was lazily cleaning the metal adornments on the wall, a simple shield and crest from some Banner of the Storands. She began exposing her breast as she worked.

"What is this whore's issue..." You think to yourself as you think a way around this.

Perfect. Let's do this. I'm good with earning bro points with Boar.
>>
>>391664
>pass her off to Boar
Why do I feel like that's giving away a waifu? She's a fucking loose servant.
>>
>>391664
How do you imagine the passing off playing out?
>>
>>391680
Lead her to the barracks, "get distracted" by our good friend Boar(He's such a great guy!). Make her talk to him. If she's a slag, then she'll go with it. If she's a spy, we'll know after she continues to pursue us.
>>
>>391699
Ah now I get it.
>>
>>391664
This is the best plan to find out she a spy. If she a spy we know if not bro points.
>>
>>391699
If it's not a straight no, and we cant leave on a good note, passing her off might be for the best. It would confirm suspicions, after all.
>>
>>391704
Unless we're just her type, but we're at least adjusting the odds.
>>
>>391699
I'd vote for this if wet could get her to come along to ... wherever he is
>>
Oh shit, we should just walk up to her, mention that her boob is out then casually mention if she knows varus.
>>
>>391699
supporting this, its a doable, win-win plan
>>
>>391744
That's... that's not how you play the game
>>
>>391758
Why should we play the game? Fucking own that shit. No one would expect it since it's not exactly been done before.
>>
>>391776
And you expect guards passing off easy lays, and sneaking away in the night to the company of a lady is? We're playing chivalrous and cunning berserker so far. That's pretty niche.
>>
>>391776
No I mean the subterfuge game. You gotta have respect for your opponents. Just outright ... saying things, it's not very subtle. Kinda crude really. We wouldn't really be worthy of the name hornet of high garden if we did shit like that. Although I guess we could hide our devious scheming behind a mask of banality...
>>
>>391823
If we are straight up about everything then like hell anyone's going to expect it when we lie. Think about it, the truth in itself also holds people hostage.
>>

How's it going guys, just got caught up from the archive.

You guys have any plans on how we're gonna make some major power plays yet?

Being a random asshat guard does not appeal to me long term.
>>
>>391963
We're doing our best to worm our way into good favour with the Maesters and we have confirmed there is good favour and interest directed at us from the Tyrels. We may also have spies/assassins after us, not sure.
>>
>>391963
If you read the archive you should know what we have in store
>>
>>391963
First, I think we need to compile a comprehensive list of the things we want to do, divided by groups like "things for us" "things to fuck up the walkers" "things to calm the fucking war down" and "things to help make the world less shit in general."

From there, we can figure out how to enact these plans.
>>
>>391972
I almost always skip over what people are talking about and just read the posts from the QM, so I don't know the specifics of what you guys are trying to do.

>>391971
>>391973
Personally, I think at the very least getting knighted or SOMETHING should be priority number one.

We really, really need some power and prestige if we're going to be able to do jack shit.
>>
>>391973
All and all those are some pretty good goals in itself. As I said before I just don't want the Starks to die cause I'm a filthy fanboy.

You're not wrong. I think guard is probably the right way to go for a knighting though, unless there are less violent alternatives available.

You decide almost instantly that Bessa is anything but a good idea, she is of course a random stranger in a strange court who ran in to you in an abandoned part of the castle. You smile, and get closer, playing along to weed out if she's a spy. The girl was clearly a whore with the amount of makeup on her face, hiding a rather beautiful look underneath the shitty cosmetics of their age. You gently lay a hand on the underside of one, the smooth skin filling your cupped palm, sliding against your skin while your other hand gripped her bosom.

"You'll do for what I want, come along, and put your tit up for fuck's sake." You distance yourself quickly from her, and she smiles, making herself decent again. The walk back to your barracks was an awkward one at best... But at worst...

Roll 1d100, dice check is 50 to see who or what you encounter on your way to pass Bessa off to Boar.

>>
>>392130
M8
With a d20 you have 5% change to critfail. D100 is better
>>
>>392130
Well this hasn't been best of three. It's just been roll and good luck.

Though desu I think Issac should get some kind of modifier for his rolls if we aren't doing Bo3.

Like a +15 or +20 on combat rolls for being a trained guard now.
>>
>>392144
Honestly +15 is retarded. +5 is more appropriate since we only have a months worth of dedicated training and we are still somewhat flabby in comparison to most Knights.
>>
>>392143
Yeah but when we only get a single pass on every roll of 100, 20 starts looking a hell of a lot better
>>
>>392154
Sure whatever modifier is appropriate. I just want to see something out of our combat and eventually medicine training that doesn't just turn into flipping a coin.

Catastrophe. It's a fucking catastrophe.

Your head in your hands and your face covered in slap marks, it all just crushed down on you.

* TWENTY MINUTES EARLIER *

You grip Bessa by the arm, and let's be honest, it may have been awhile since you'd be alone enough to, well, you know, do your thing. This girl was kinda attractive. Maybe you got handsy.

And then of course, Elinor.

She was walking down the steps of some carpeted hallway in the cross section leading to the barracks, and she saw the hand, she saw the whore.

With a fury befit an ape Elinor ran at you and started beating you in to a bloody pulp, well with weak slaps, but she was crying and hitting you... Then she just... Ran off... Now you're here on the steps with your head in your hands, Bessa missing, and Elinor thinking you're a horrible man.

Fuck.

You notice it's getting late outside, andyou are due for an early morning. Choices must be made.

> where do you go?
>>
>>392170
Mother fucker

Well good bye sweet virgin pussy I knew thee well
>>
>>392170
Go to Elinor, explain yourself also make sure to bring flowers and chocolates.

You were planning on palming the girl off onto one of your friends as you didn't want to just dismiss the poor lass.

If she goes ahead and argues it with you, tell her the same thing you told her from before, that where you're from you treat a lady with respect or at least as an equal no matter their station.

We can try to bullshit it off as foreign kookyness.
>>
>>392170
Wait, So crits are actually a thing here? I don't remember if that was ever said.
>>
>>392181
To be fair, yes it was never established, but I do take 1's and 100's as crits. Sorry for not announcing that sooner.
>>
Rolled 18 (1d100)

Oh, shitfuck. We have to explain shit to Elinor somehow, if Margret starts thinking shit about of us because of her, we may end up all kinds of fucked later.

Can we pass it off as trying to find a girl for someone else or being honorable and not wanting to do anything to Elinor because we are there as that "Shining armor" figure and not some taker-of-virginity, (not that that's not the intent at some point, to a degree) and general manslut. It's definitely not what she thought it was, we just have to get her to understand that.
>>
>>392176
It's not too late, we just need to nip this in the bud before things get out of hand.

>>392170
Track her down ASAP.

We literally only need to tell her the truth anyway.

>This random whore walked up to me, and I thought she might be a spy so I played along and had a plan in mind. You said you trusted me, didn't you?
>>
>>392178
at least this, if nothing else.
>>
>>392178
This
Also what she saw proves that were not gay. And throws the spy off, as he was going to spill the beans but Elinor stop him.
So looking at it this can work to our favor, since that whore was a spy for sure. Show we're not gay, and we can explain that shit to Elinor.
So we just have to hope ahe believes us, she going to question why we didn't pork her when we could.
This alright for us just a setback.

Frantically you sprinted down long halls of stone and carpet and wood and marble looking for her, the one person you were willing to trust in Westeros. Eventually you track down one of her fellow handmaindens. "She went to her room, crying, I'm not supposed to but I can take you there, we hear you're quite the nice man and something must be wrong." She explains.

>>
>>392271
I dunno if material gifts will work as well as just clearing up a misunderstanding with our words and just spending time with her. I suppose wine could help in general though.
>>
>>392277
rather sensible approach. Talk her down, it may just be our best option. I'll drop a night of sleep to make things right with her.

Elinor best girl so far?
>>
>>392277
>>392272
>>392271
Nothing we can find for her will work. We'd have to make whatever it is ourself for it to even have value. For now, damage control with words as hard as we fucking can.

I'll shoot whoever first suggests we make a macaroni murder lady.
>>
>>392259
Tell the Hand maiden to lead us too her, also be open say the reason she is upset is partially our fault.

When we get there we should simply say to her, do I seem like thevkind of person who would use whore's? When she asks why was she all over us we say simple, the strange girl had been after us all night so we were going to drop her to another guard to keep an eye on.

She's a lady of the court she should be able to see the look in our eyes we were not keen
>>
>>392284
I don't like making plans far in advance in quests. They never really work out and it's better to take it a thread at a time.

That said I wouldn't mind getting enough status to be able to marry her and help Marge win the Game with our knowledge.

Just my personal opinion.
>>
>>392290
>marry her
And by 'her' I mean Elinor, not Marge.

>>
>>392284
Eleanor is pretty good. I believe she is the one we can trust the most. And having someone you can trust in this setting is certainly one of the best things to have.
>>
>>392301
I do think we can absolutely trust her though, i don't want to risk that.
>>
>>392288
>>392259
Pretty much this.

We should lean against the wall and simply ask her. "Do I seem like the kind of man who would take a roll around with a whore, come now you know me better than that", When she asks the obvious questions we simply tell the truth, "The girl has been strangely keen all night, going so far as to say she may have been following me, so I did the only reasonable thing I could, I drew her in and was in the process of delivering her to the Barracks".
>>
Explaining ourselves as weak is a great mode. Telling El that we know that we would never live up to a woman such as her. That woman was simply there to soak up our frustrations. That sort of tripe. Whatever will get us close enough to slit her wrists and frame it as a suicide.

He'd probably listen if we claimed to be sent by Reed and that he discoverd a plot to kill him.
Of course he'd ask proof and then we just have to drop the L+R=J and he'll be like "shit the only ones in the room was some maid he and me, guess he must be right."
>>392500
>If we save ned, will Jon Snow still end up at the wall though?
Maybe not but it probably won't change his destiny, he'll probably learn his true parentage and stay at the wall because he's not interested in the Iron Throne.
>>
>>392500
He already left for the Wall by this point so yeah
>>
>>392500
Should he not be there by the time we reach kings landing
>>
>>392505
Nother thought.

If we save ned, will we change Bran's fate? Cause I think we might. And that may end up fucking all chance of fending off the white walkers.
>>
>>392513
>>392508
True, aight then.

I'm just trying to think like Isaac (paranoid). Not sure if saving Ned is really a good idea desu. Probably one of the most dramatic and fate changing things we can do really.
>>
>>392514
Fuck no we just have to show him his destiny he'll leave likely even if he's not forced out.
Bran will like discover he can warg and leave Winterfell because of it.
>>
I'm honestly still on the fence about how we should start making moves. We're obviously going to go for "make it less fucked up, try to keep people alive who can put shit back together, and get everyone prepared as possible for white walkers" but how and when to really kick it off is going to be the trick.
>>
>>392514
He is already dreaming about the tree eyed raven, surely they won't give up on him that easy

> We're obviously going to go for "make it less fucked up, try to keep people alive who can put shit back together, and get everyone prepared as possible for white walkers" but how and when to really kick it off is going to be the trick.
We'll start by saving Ned since it'll probably help the Night's watch buiseness.
>>
>>392530
My plan pretty much consists of trying to get the Girls out of KL and maybe, maybe Stark. But also to reveal to the whole realm the Lanister incest secret. Get everyone aware of it and known. The Lanisters will be absolved of power, if they resist I say we nick the wyldfire stores and burn Casterly Rock to the ground...or reveal that they are infact broke and diving the crown into debt of the Iron Bank.

Saving Stark and revealing the Lanister Conspiracy will isolate the fuck out of KL. The North will back Renly if we play really carefully, or more likely just Stannis. but either way Dorne don't give a fuck and will go with whomever is killing Lions, the Vale don't give a fuck and the Tyrells will not join the Lanisters if that secret gets out.

I agree that having a competent Northman on the north is important for the endgame and Ned fits the bill well enough if we can save him from himself and his political blundering
>>
>>392540
Pretty sure they won't get kicked out of kings landing because of incest, the purple eyed lot were at out for a while. People will just laugh at then behind their backs more
>>
>>392572
>Ned fits the bill well enough if we can save him from himself and his political blundering
It's true that while being honorable mostly and likely a strong warrior he does sit somewhere on the spectrum in regard to some issues.
>>392577
>Pretty sure they won't get kicked out of kings landing because of incest, the purple eyed lot were at out for a while. People will just laugh at then behind their backs more
Then Joffrey won't get the Throne tho.
>>
>>392583
>Then Joffrey won't get the Throne tho.
Oh yeah, that's a thing. And then to get Renly on the throne we need to make sure Ned didn't find Gendry then off Stannis somehow. Although IIRC other people knew about Gendry so maybe off him too.
>>
>>392592
>Although IIRC other people knew about Gendry so maybe off him too.
Dude Gendry is a bastard.
Ned know about it him, we could help him escape along with Ned and the Ned send him to the Night Watch like the north does with Bastards.
I mean he's a Smith he'll be useful.
Maybe we can throw a bastard party in the north.
>>
>>392304
>so I did the only reasonable thing I could, I drew her in and was in the process of delivering her to the Barracks".
noice
>>
>>392601
I thought Ned was looking for him because even though he was illegitimate he was still the eldest child with royal blood. Maybe he wanted Robert to legitimise him so he would have a real heir but that ship sailed and he threw in with Stannis
>>
>>392624
Nah he probably looked for him because Robert was his friend and Ned has a "bastard" too.
Ned is a Sentimental old man who regrets a lot of the choices he made in his life and now his friend is dead, maybe he wanted to Robert when he was young in Gendry but ended disappointed when he only encountered a normal smith apprentice.
But i think he'd be down to protect him from the lannisters by taking Gendry with him to the North then send him to the NW likely.
>>
>>392624
>>392632
Well don't forget Gendry is the spitting image of young Rob. I say we save him and send him north with Stark when we try to save him, or atleast the girls.

I won't doom the poor lad to be rowing around that Island for all time. Plus save him from fire granny.
>>
So

Isaac must go up to her and hold her hand and simply ask her.

"I'm sorry if this ordeal has upset you m'lady" tips guard helmet with utmost euphoria

we need to draw designs for a steam engine.

Actually. Our most important step towards making our allies technologically modernised is to get a map of all the resources. Most resources can be found by the presence of other resources, at least a hint. Like quartz tells that gold is able to be found. Tar and pitch being possible oil supplies.

We then win a ton of money at tournaments and maybe buy a lordship/landholding and set up infrastructure. Like get some shit land that just so happens to have advanced resources.
>>
>>393598
Wonder how much that lordship/landholding would be. We should be coming in big here not to long
>>
>>393635
Dang, if we can buy some at all (not sure if we can just outright buy land, not being nobility) it will probably cost a small fortune. Not to say we won't have one if we haven't changed events too much with our presence alone.
>>
>>393598
>we need to draw designs for a steam engine
I'm not sure a drama student can do something like that. Unless OP is going to allow us to META to the max.
>>
>>393702
Even a drama student could grasp the idea of an Aeolipile.

water+fire=steam=pressure
>>
>>393702
A steam engine, maybe not. But a wood or coal-fired steam boiler? much easier to design and repurpose from there, at least i would think so. Building blocks and all that.

Oh goddamnit. That seems like a bad idea famalam.

Cause what's going to happen is half the playerbase isn't on discord and half are which will lead to major confusion if you propose a plan that half the players don't know what you're talking about.

Quest specific IRCs and Discords aren't that great.

>>
>>394258
We don't have to be the one to do the brain work. We know it works, we know an example to show it works.

I mean, fuck, we don't know the exact formulas or methods to produce penicillin or vaccines, but we can give starting points to the folks who would know what to do with that information.
>>
>>394258

Maybe for building one on our own, as it stands though all we need is to get the ideas to someone who can see them through. Hell I was a drama student and I can give a description of a basic steam engine to someone. Along with a number of other random things that I picked up from school or other sources that can do a lot of good in the right hands of someone in this time period.

"Take me to her. Please." You'rw curt but kind with the girl, not wanting to risk her switching to Elinor's side if you kentuoned what happened. The girl's blue summer dress swayed by her feet, gossamer trails shimmering through the sheer fabric, dragging lightly against the floor in such an elegant way that you were honestly distracted for a second, realizing that the girl was waiting for you to enter a slightly ajar door, motioning to go in and that she'd close the door.

You step in, and instantly you feel like trash. Elinor sits there at her beauty-table, staring down at a ripped up drawing, the one you had seen her starting earlier this week.

Her makeup was riddled with light trails of tears and eyes were pretty bloodshot, but even through all that she managed to pull it off with some sort of strange strength beneath the surface noble women seem to have.

"Elino-" she stops you immediately with a raised finger.

She says in a quiet and defeated voice, "Please just leave me alone."

"I won't because I don't leave someone hurting like this alone with only their thoughts." You take a breath, she has stopped the tears going down her cheeks, she's listening to you and that silent signal alone is enough to give you hope. "That never helps and it goes double because I'm the one that hurt you." You approach slowly so she isn't surprised, she tenses slightly but doesn't back away from the table.

"What you saw earlier wasn't what you thought." You gesture out towards the hallway. "That whore, Bessa, was strangely interested in that it got me suspicious." She raises her head, a look of pure confusion on her face, she opens her mouth to speak but you beat her to the punch, "Suspicious enough that I planned on taking her to the barracks to see if she was looking for any partner among the guards or if she was trying to get close to me for a reason."

You approach a little bit more, going in for the hug, but she then stands and walks away.

"No. Answer my questions first. You're weird Isaac, who are you really? You haven't been honest to me at all have you?" She seems to be getting angry but still with a depressed tinge to her voice.

"What are you talking about?" You retort, she simply refers you back to the fact a spy might be following you.

You reach forward and grab her hands, her face belies confusion but she can hear the honesty in your voice (of course conpounded with some extra bravado from your acting experience). She asks a few questions just as vague as the last and you answer in turn. Eventually she has settled down to forgiving you slightly, though it was evident it qould sting for a little while.

>>394555
>We can only lie now since we chose actor

t. autist.
>>
>>394555

Acting isn't lying, acting is telling another persons truth, that's what it means to become a character (which makes the Faceless Men the greatest actors alive)
>>
>>394562
Yeah that seem's like the right idea the whole tourney thing is a bit risky to pull right now.
>>
>>394539
Go and get some sleep we got a lot of betting to do.
>>
>>394576
Well, she may be new to our version of "Penance"
>>
>>394539
Kiss her on the cheek and leave her be
>>
>>394539
"You know that was a bit of strong reaction you had back there."

"Maybe we can talk about that more when you feel up for it yeah?"

In a slightly friendly teasing tone.

Then
> Leave Elinor for the night and rest
>>
>>394588
Isn't that kinda mean?
>>
>>394588
+1
>>
>>394598
It's more of a 'You like me~' and 'Let's elaborate on that a bit'

Basically Issac is saying that he knows that she is attracted to him and wants to pursue that.
>>
>>394607
I get it but the first sentance just seems off.
>>
>>394588
>>394607
Personally, I'd prefer to keep our flirting at other times, when we haven't just accidentally broken a girls heart?
>>

>>
>>394613
Its direct and not beating around the bush
>>
>>394613
I can't really find a way to say 'You're reaction to me with the whore implies that you like me and I am about that' very well I guess

>>394617
Maybe, I just thought showing her that her attraction isn't unrequited would help mend it.
>>
>>394588
No, don't fucking do this holy shit
>>
>>394626
THANK YOU
>>
>>394588
Do this. This will work for us.
>>
>>394588
>>394588
Yeah, this will work for me too
>>
I think the QM should allow us one "Stop being fucking stupid" roll per thread.
>>
>>394588
No. Especially that first line. Just no.
>>
>>394639
Let's hold a Final Destination vote, if Velo will permit
>>
>>394539
We should leave for now. Say a proper goodbye for now. We will probably have to wait for her to come find us.

"Thanks for listening to me Elinor, It means a lot, Now if you'll excuse me I have some planning to do and I am quite tired, Good night fair maiden"

Then fuckoff and plan and sleep

Nice strawman argument.
>>394573
Yea, but you guys didn't even do that.
There is no fabricated personality or anything going on.
You could not even pretend to be a fucking guardsman without sounding like a lordling.

>>
>>394688

We wouldn't have wanted to fabricate the accent in the first place, we have been trying to subtly get the attention of important people here this entire time. Successfully fabricating the accent and becoming just a guardsman would probably mean a shit life and a death against whatever enemy the Tyrells threw us at
>>
>>394539
Go get some sleep. Probably gonna be walking all the way to the spiders nest anyway.
>>
>>394696
Exactly. We wanted to get just enough notice so we could enact our HUGE PLANS but be able to maintain at least some form of cover.
>>
Plz hurry
I want to sleep
One more update
>>
Are we getting another update or what?
>>
Just finished reading the two threads. Easily one of the best quests I've seen yet.

When does OP normally post updates?
>>
>>394848
When he can. Dude has a busy schedule.
>>
>>394848
it has been a fun ride so far
>>
>>391026
The Baratheons have dark hair
>>
>>391167
No, it's not. Blond hair is overused, if anything
>>
>>391271
How in the seven hells would anyone go through Westerns in a single day? They have horses not airplanes, anon

Agreed, OP's writing style is fantastic, very immersive, and just the idea of the quest is spot on and one of those things I think a lot of us have thought about / imagined, but he's put it in qst form!
>>
>>395202
I just wish he updated a bit more.
>>
>>395317
Yeah I understand the concern. I'm still trying to find a way to fit the quest in my schedule so I can do it daily.

Wish I could just get paid to do this desu,

And on the bright side, tomorrow is a free day with zero planned -> gonna be running all day long with constant updates, so check around in 12~ hours
>>
>>395338
Fuck yes all the good questing is now. Nerds and fagboys alike look upon this board with satisfaction guaranteed for the hours to come.
>>
>>395338
Damn. Looks like I'll be catching the late posts tomorrow.
>>
>>395338
Every QM always lead such busy lives... Why is is? Why don't the NEETs ever run quests?
>>
>>395487
Because we're so paranoid no-one will like our garbage. Nothing kills creativity like the fear that nobody will like it.

Thanks for writing! I greatly enjoy reading it! Looking forward to our MC actually surviving and prospering :)

You and Elinor spend a little bit more time speaking like you usually do, about random topics and distracting thoughts. As you stand to leave, she wraps her hand around one of yours.

"Wait. Isaac... I need you to know we're still the closest friends. Your... Weird secret is safe with me, even from the lady." She pecks your cheek and before a response can even leave your mouth she pushes you out the door and bolts it.

The halls of Storm's End have a strange quality to then, you think. Highgarden had a far more alive and free feeling, all of the plants and flowers, open fields, and sunlight... Man it was like a damn vacation, but here? You felt like you were at war. The guards here operated in a manner that it was clear they respected Renly with the authority of a king who was far more ignoble than Mace Tyrell, and as a result the castle felt like it was on the hairtrigger of war, everyone was wondering what Renly Baratheon's next action would be as Lord Paramount. A nervous rumour driven economy of fear.

You'd be glad to leave this place, you muse as you settle in to your hammock, the snores of compatriots filling the stone room, and quickly fall asleep.

----
THE MARCH TO KING'S LANDING
----

"The Lady Margaery will be traveling in conjunction with Lord Renly Baratheon's host, we'll be handling the security of their carriage while they di the rest... Gods willing." The captain barked at your regiment, it was just after dawn and the convoy was near ready for departure, the last thing needed being the nobles themselves. Renly Baratheon and Margaery Tyrell walk side by side towards it, and with a spike of cold fear in your side you realize that she is once again staring directly at you. The pair gets closer and closer, but you manage to keep your composure strong. Until, of course, she leans in and whispers to you.

"Morning." Is the only word she says, in an oddly threatening way, before boarding the carriage and shutting the window partition.

The horses start off and the men go to march. You're starting to love the march, it's a routine that entertains you, like camping but much more murder-filled. Day by day you march for many hours before training yourself to exhaustion in camp, not wanting to risk another scandal before King's Landing. Your bag of gold from the bandits often tucked in to your undergarments during travel for safe keeping.

> Is there anything we wish to accomplish on the road besides training and reading? Or just skip to KL?
>>
>>395976
MARGAERY SENPAII NOTICED US
>>
>>395976
I'd be ready for a skip, I guess?
>>
>>395976
I vote skip so we don't fuck up even more
>>

Maybe in the skip mention talking to elinor
>>
>>395991
+1 casually improve relationship with Elinor.

Thats what I was thinking

When does autosage start? This thread is getting a bit heavy

Teach the "i would walk 500 miles" and play the lyre as we march

Consensus is skip with minor fluff of taking to elinor
and singing 500 miles
>>
>>396014
and any other song we can think of to suit, the songs of our people.
>>
Damnn. I feel like King's Landing would've been a great opening scene for the next thread.

Is it not classy to wait till autosage to start the next thread?
>>
>>396019
Just make the new thread mate
This one was getting full anyway
>>
>>396019
No worries m8
>>
>>396019
The only problem is that your IP can only have 3 live threads up at a time, if you don't see this becoming a problem, you're A-OK
>>
So whats happening
>>
So, uh, why do you guys trust this girl unconditionally again?
I mean, this IS the same Game of Thrones I watched on TV, right?

I mean, it's almost certain she is going to screw you guys over either through incompetence or because she's working for someone.
If I had to guess, she is probably working for the Queen of Thorns.

I also have a feeling that by continuing on this route, you're going to face the same fate as the Ned Stark.
>>
>>396051
ned didn't have the luxury of his life threatening situations being handled by dice tho, he never had a chance
>>
>>396051
Not if we fuck her
>>
>>395976
Finish reading the Alchemy book.
If possible, I'd like to be able to have a trump card before shit hits the fan.

Primitive fireworks would be nice so we can make a grenade or a gun.

fuck the queen of thorns? What are we, grave robbers?
