“Yes! And my other friend, Emily, she was a slave! Her father beat her constantly and to reach freedom she had to kill her own dad in cold blood to escape his tyrannous hands of evil! Don’t be fooled by her cheerful nature, she’s the real deal!”

“And me? Kid, you don’t want to know, but you can tell how awesome it is by my humble title! After our fabulous actions we were cast aside and exiled from our hometown! Now we’re searching redemption and glory! Am I right Ilin?”

“So how the execution went?”

“It was… AMAZING!” Emily’s eyes start sparkling.

“YEAH!” Shimi agrees.

“So we went expecting a dull boring execution, but, naaah! The place was full”

“We came and there was an opening ceremony with a ballet dancing around!”

“Yes! Then they started the trial right there! It was all flashy and full of twists! This guy killed dozens of people!”

“Oh right! And he had a lawyer who was a bad guy! The entire crowd booed the poop out of him!”

“Yeah! He was mean; he showed his teeth to us! How dare he?! Then I got in the stage as a victim and a witness! The crowd went wild for me!”

“Of course, it was the crowd’s decisions if he was guilty or not! And you guessed it! He was guilty! After the trial, they started throwing merchandising to the crowd! Then they set up some stands with more stuff for us to buy!”

“Don’t forget the halftime attraction! This time it was an illusionist! Like Rufo, remember?” Emily gets more excited reminiscing your past together.

“Oh! Oh! Oh! Then this massive guy appeared wearing a black robe! He had a giant bloody axe with him! And a giant guillotine appeared too! And… and… A cool looking fellow too with fire on his hands!”

“They make us pick between cutting his head with an axe, or a guillotine or burning him alive!”

“I wanted the massive dude to win… but the Guillotine was awesome regardless!”

“You have to see Behento’s look on his face! He was asking for mercy! And told everyone we were a bunch of animals! We booed him so hard and we threw some tomatoes at him! Then he started crying and apologizing!”

“Yeah, that got a little uncomfortable for me…”

“But he deserved it! Then SPLOOOSH! His head flew off and everyone went bonkers!”

“Yeah! Then the fireworks started!”

“Then, then… I ate Behento’s soul so he wouldn’t hurt us!”

You stare at Cif for a moment to see if he’s okay. He doesn’t look like he minded at all, he even enjoyed the story.

“No! That’s what happens when you scare me!” Shimi crosses her arms and gives you a disgruntled look. She’s rancorous.

“Yeah, I got you this lousy t-shirt.” Emily gives you your new shirt from her bag. “Shimi was on the crowd in that moment so she snatched more things.”

“Thanks! You’re really nice!”

“Hehehe” Emily gives you a cheerful smile.

“Okay! Okay! You don’t have to beg! When we get home I’ll give you some of the stuff I got!” Shimi got jealous of Emily. She wants praises too.

As much as I like Shimi and consider her an important part of team SWOLE, this is a private thing between Emily and Ilin. Maybe when Emily is more open about it Shimi can participate.

You sat beside Emily and ask her again the same question…

Emily is starting to cry…

Emily opens her feelings to you. You ask her when usually Mr. Fluffy talked to her.

This issue is not only weird, but worrisome.

“Hello, Ilin” Is the distorted voice of Mr. Fluffly. He starts liking her paws?... how do you explain this without getting weird? Anyway, Mr. Fluffy continues speaking “I hearrrd everrrything, You don’t need to explain why you asked for my prrresence. But I wish to know what you want to tell me.”

You tell him his heart might be in the right place, but you aren’t sure if his methods are right. You explain to him how he’s denying people their second chances, but you do agree that they could do something about evil lingering spirits, those who refuse to go wherever souls go to impart evil into the world.

“Yourrr methods arrre slow and yourrr carrre for my master is weak. You left a wound on herrr that will neverrr be healed. I’m sorrrrry but I can’t trrrust yourrr judgment even if my decisions seem harrrsh, this is the most effective and quick way to prrrrotect her.” (You get the idea; I’ll stop the “rrr”)

You tell him you and he know those were minor characters, but this made Emily feel upset anyway.

“My master will have to understand that those sacrifices are necessary for her to stay alive! Do not worry, I’ll make it comprehend later. I have my methods.” He sounds sinister about it. This worries you.

Neither you nor Fluffy knows the consequences of devouring souls. What if there's a force above them who punishes those who defiles souls and denies them the chance to redeem? You might not be the most religious girl in this side of the world, but even you fear whatever the greater powers in this world does to soul eaters. Besides, all those souls could change Emily's very essense and she could change into something that's not Emily anymore

Wow… You can’t say much about it since you were the one who killed him. He’s a reckless fur ball. You plead to him to leave Emily alone; she needs him to be her strength! Besides, he needs to rethink what exactly he’s protecting! Emily or Emily’s body!

I understand! I’ll try not to change my master’s mind and I’ll not try to make her eat souls! But I cannot rest inside my master body like her mother does. I just can’t! You’re useless! You promised to protect her and she lost her hand protecting YOU!”

He’s getting agitated.

Mr. Fluffy leaves… His genuine but creepy speech bothers you deeply. Well, it’s not like you’re planning on letting Emily die or something.

You explained the whole situation to Emily.

“But… I don’t want to leave your side…” She seems conflicted.

There's no better medicine than returning to your daily life to keep yourself busy.

Also, consider training the use of [¨MOTHER] in your free time, maybe she has an extra power besides being extra muscle and range. And maybe see if you can manifest her even when you are in deep trance or sleeping, so you can use her even in the direst of situations and avoid the arm cutting situation from happening again

“Yes! Please carry me!” she’s bouncing on her bed of excitement. She didn’t seem to enjoy her time here.

You lift Emily and together (with Shimi and Cif) went back home, nothing out of the ordinary happened in your way there. You four ate dinner together, Emily insisted in doing it, even though she only hand one hand available. In the end, you ended up helping her cooking, that made her extremely sad… but the taste of the food made her changed her mind.

You used whatever free time you had left in training [MOTHER] and her capabilities… You don’t seem to grasp what obscure ability she has… Maybe you need someone guidance or going to a trance/meditation/dream like when you faced your young self.

It’s morning and time to go to school, you three put your uniforms on and ate breakfast. You ended deciding on bringing Cif too.

You arrived at your classroom, Joane scold you and Emily for leaving the barracks without doctors’ permission, but she will let it slide for now. Only thing, if any of you two seem in bad condition, she will not hesitate in bringing you back there. You both nod without caring too much about what she said. Aust and Nedda said hi to the whole gang and everyone ended up signing Emily's no hand, she looked happy. Cif had to take the class too, because of reasons… It seems he’s going to be part of it permanently.

Emily had to stay awake the whole class so she won’t worry Joane. Aside for more Common classes you all learned today about Pasiturnia’s origins, how this one was the first town funded after the king left the mainland. About how the flashy and extraordinaire people of the world come here since pretty much only cool stuff happen here, and how close this place is to becoming a city.

After school, Joane told you 4 that your extra classes are canceled for the time being until they found Bloodworth since it’s pretty dangerous. They told you to go directly home, and at some point some guards are going to be there protecting you. Poor girl got paranoid… Emily doesn’t mind, but Shimi is livid…

Anyway, you’re back home, without much to do. The guards haven’t arrived yet and you four are pretty bored… You took Cif and helped him doing some exercises… But after that, you’re still without a thing to do.

Emily has fully transformed into a cat, she totally went to the wrong direction when meditating. This is not good. She realizes her state.

You cannot help but laugh at the situation, but you’re hiding it.

Cif gives a weird potion to Cat Emily, who reluctantly drinks it; then out of his weird bag he takes out a cat paw, looks artificial. He starts sewing the new paw in Emily’s cat arm. Doesn’t seem like Emily is in pain… Cif continues her operation, then he drops another weird looking liquid on Emily new paw and recites a unintelligible spell… It seems he’s done.

“I’m done! It’s going to take some days before she gets used to her new paw! But it’s a success.”

You’re not sure if this will mean her new paw will change too when Emily transforms. Anyway Emily began moving her new limb, she trips.

“Poor thing! Take it easy!”

She gets up and stares at you, she waves her tail slowly.

I been thinking if I should do a Halloween Special next week or just continue with the match of the century between Ilin and Shimilia… Tell me if you give a shit or not.

I’m making portraits again of frickin’ everyone (Except shitty tertiary/background character)! I’m planning on making character sheets with them. I’ll show the stats things I made for the document, maybe simplifying them a bit.

Sadly, I don't think anyone gives a shit, but I had 3 ideas in mind:

>An one shot Halloween adventure with different characters in the same world with one or two cameos.

>A murder mystery with the some of the cast in a parallel universe/ Future.

>A spooky flashback chapter.

I think I'll end up doing a Halloween themed one shot this week instead of a regular chapter of Not so Glorious Quest.

I'd be interested if you could do some spooky stuff in-context of the story (even if it was csondiered non-canon), but out of those ideas I think I'd like to see another Murder Mystery, they're hard to get right (especially in quests)and the more practice someone gets writing them the better, also they're always fun with everybody throwing theories and ideas around.
