To say that he's a villain that's also the protag would imply he was something like Walter White, which I personally think he isn't. Personally, I see his habit of Pet Collection as more of his way of giving others the love and affection he probably feels he never really got from his parents.
In terms of health, it's only as unhealthy as his talent at caring for them as well as himself, but considering I have yet to see him slack in such (aside from not having asked about Atreus from Janna yet), he's fiiiiiiine.
And of course, if there's anything for him to cope over, it's likely the idea that he may probably end up just like them, and wants to defy it by proving himself wrong and raising whatever he can the way he probably would've wanted to have himself be raised.

This is further supported by how drakes act when losing their plants. Loss of plants means a major loss of sugars in the diet. What it means for pooping is that likely drakes release pellets of undigestable material. In that drakes dont have to eat food very often with a healthy coat of plants, they likely eat like snakes where they eat a large meal and then digest it over months.

Well he is not a psuedo villain for one, he murders dozens of people for selfish reasons remorselessly, hurts and abuses those around him, and often cares only some of the time. He is a straight up villain, if a complex one. A good villain is not all evil all the time for no reason, that his reasons are understandable means he i a person, not a stereotype.

Perhaps the white dino ranger would be a more apt comparison? I am referring to his genuinely 'problematic' and bad nature, but that space exists in him for redemption. Perhaps that is even what he is seeking in the end?

I think you may be wrong on his characterization here... Janna said that jackie would have to get over the fact that Anon HAS to love his friends. I also think she meant romantically, not sexually.

Love was not the experiment, he still loves jackie, janna, marco (maybe?), and others. ROMANCE was the experiment. And I am honestly surprised (and I think he is too) it worked out as long as it did. So actually worked pretty well.

Both are equally important and they both matter. You could be the worlds biggest philanthropist but if youre doing it to cover up being a pedophile then what does that make of your actions? You could be trying to cure cancer and accidentally kill a whole country when your cure mutates, what then?

These are what ifs, so lets look at anon. Anon struggles with understanding his actions and his motivations. Does he believe what he says or is it just charisma manipulating everyone around him. If all his friends like a fake version of him self are they really friends? Anon is so busy struggling with "I want it all" he doesn't ask "Who am I"

Anon's definitely an Anti-Hero, and at that he definitely plays the role of Star and Marco's rival. He's by no means evil or villainous, he's just as heroic as they are. He just happens to take a more aesthetically darker path than Princess Flaming Diamond Studded Rainbows and Pure Karate Boi.

A lot of anons view Anon the character and and Anons the players as seperate, that we're influencing and choosing his path but he's his own being. I disagree with that, he's partially his own being in the sense that Quest writes him and has his backstory but I consider the players to be as much a part of him as anything else. We are, if not all, most of his thoughts and ideas and autism. When a player says they hate either Anon or hates the other players, to me that represents part of why Anon is so messed up. That hatred translates to inner conflict and self hatred, Anon hates himself because the players hate each other or him, and he's getting better at learning to like himself because the players, as memey as they still are, are starting to come off more serious and focused in their choices, discussions, and votes. At least that's how I see it as.
