Previously on 999 Quest:

You, alongside your friends and the mysterious being that is Stephen entered a cosmic void of glimmering lights and patterns (referred to by Stephen as a "network" of some sort). After consulting with your friends and soothing their worries regarding Stephen, you encountered the entity known as Uriel, and fought it in a long and drawn out foght that ended with you escaping backto material space.

Following that, you and your companions came into a right pickle, as you had come into a very tense situation with a local werewolf pack, which unsurprisingly ended up with you in an extended conflict which only ended when one of the werewolves implored his fellows to stand down, and instead take you pack to the rest of their kind for not-too subtle interrogation.

As it stands now, you are currently walking besides the werewolf in question, who has taken to eyeing you suspiciously as you walk into the woods proper. Perhaps you can do something to quell his uneasiness?

"Blorb!" You reach up to the teenage werewolf, who startles and stiffens at your touch, before proceeding to brush you off.

"Alright, first off; no touching. Period. Second; what the Hell are you doing?" he stares down at you, and tilts his head somewhat, clearly motioning for you to explain your actions of love and affection.

"Blorble-blorb blorb!" you giggle, and wobble your form somewhat. Runs-With-Blades (henceforth known as RWB) simply frowns at you.

"...Alright, any translators here?"

"I believe that what my dear lad is saying, is that you're almost as 'grumpy' and unsettled as an acquaintance of ours. A fine fellow named Vuindred I believe."

RWB brings a hand to his face, sighs, then goes back to staring at you impassively "Alright, so you have more allies. Fun. Nevertheless, we're almost at the meeting grounds. So finish asking what's on your mind and get all the stuff out of your systems."

As your words are translated courtesy of Blackwood and Blue (who's struggling to not break out into a giggling fit), you watch as RWB gapes as blood seems to rush to his face. Fangs-Chasing-Shadows (now known as FCS to you) proceeds to bark up a storm of a laugh alongside some of the other wolves as the teen manages to somewhat regain his composure to sputter and stutter a response.

"T-That's not what-Deed names don't work like-Gah! You don't understand!"

An with that, RWB storms forward to the front of your merry band, muttering under his breath all the while as he pushes past his fellow wolves.

As you turn to Blue to happily respond to his question, you feel something in the air. Something...powerful. Ancient even.

Tilting your head slightly, you look around, honing your senses to try and search for the thing, and you catch faint whisps of billowing red, floating and moving all throughout the thick woods around you. Pulsating thickly, like veins pumping blood. And as you look closer at them, you get the vaguest impressions of some massive beast, and many, many fangs.

>I think we are, Blue
>But! New friends can come in the strangest guises! Like friend Vuindred!
>(to creature) Hello there!
Ignoring the ongoing pissing match, you turn to the red whisps and wave at them, before giving a happy blorble to them in greeting (which causes your 'chaperones' to stop their continued march and stare incredulously at you, but who gives a shit).

The flowing waves stop for a moment as you address them, and you feel like some vast cosmic power has stopped in some other action it was performing, and is instead trailing its eye over to you. Almost lazily, as if it were searching for an annoying fly, or a buzzing gnat. As if a giant wolf has just felt something encroach on its territory and is only barely expending the force to search for the daring and foolish interloper.

Thankfully, the feeling passes quickly enough. But you still feel like you just dodged a bullet right there.

>Trait "Lucky Soul" (F) has achieved minor realization within you! Perhaps you shouldn't be trying to talk to every cosmic entity or force you meet? Just maybe.

"Hey, ya' coming or should we just leave you to your business with the flowerboys over there?" RWB asks, gesturing to Blue and Purple who continue to argue, even as Red tries (and fails) to plead with them to stop. "Because, either one's ok with us."

You proceed to contemplate the friends you've made, and you find that you may have osme very odd beings for friends.

After a little bit of this, you shrug somewhat. What can you say? It's in your nature.

>RWB '''really''' needs a Y at the end of his name. Runs With Blades Younder? Runs With Blades Yearlong?
"Alright, I see that look on your face (or whatever the fuck you have) and I don't like it." said individual who needs a Y on their name responds upon seeing you putting a limb to your head. "Stop thinking whatever evils you're pondering and come along. The pack is waiting, and we're late enough as it stands."

>Ask RWB what the hell the massive thing we're seeing is.
>Support. Are they friends with it? If so, why ever not?
"Blorble? [Hey, you know about this massive thing we're seeing here? Are you friends with it?]" You decide to ask RWB the million dollar question that's plaguing you and your friends, with Blackwood (and Spanko, surprisingly enough) acting to translate.

Both RWB and FCS seem to stiffen at your question somewhat, before turning to each other muttering some things. RWB then turns back to you, eyes distant once more.

"You'll find out at our little meet-and-greet. Now let's get moving."

"[Is this because you were fucking about with blades with no safety skills?]"

There is no answer to Blue's jest from either wolf.

It doesn't take much longer after that for you to start trudging through the remainder of the woods, and only a few minutes more before you come to a rather open clearing and-

That's a lot of wolves. As in, that's a very very large gathering of very very large wolves. None of which look all to pleased to see you. Some of them retain their human forms, but they're equally stone-faced. And the presence of that thing is stronger here than ever before.

A particularly large, dark-coated wolf trots up to you, with two others flanking it, both with a grey coat to them. Both RWB and FCS go up to meet with it, as your 'chaperones' remain to watch you carefully.

Perhaps now would be a good time to try and explain yourselves?

"Blorble!" You wave to the assembled wolves, before proceeding into your friendship dance of joy and companionship. It doesn't take long before you begin to shoot off into an explanation (helpfully translated by Purple, Blue, and Blackwood) regarding why you're here and giving them an apology for the joint misunderstanding.

"[-And as it currently stands, we're here on semi-official business as a result of being dimensionally dislodged from our point of origin.]"

"[Yeah, that.]" Blue grumbles out, glaring at the gathered wolves. "[I think we should also mention the transdimensional multiverse-destroying reality-hating super demon as well, Purple. You know, to even things out.]"

"[Good point.]" Purple turns back to the gathered wolves, who seem to be some merger between utterly confused and deeply upset. ["Yes, as Blue says there is-]"

"Enough." The single word uttered spreads throughout the grove, nearly overwhelming in its force, as the head of the pack steps up.

"You speak of power, of realms beyond, of terrors beyond all conception. And yet you show no acknowledgement of the fall of Pangaea, or of being Hunter yourselves." the great wolf speaks, its words heavy and powerful and lingering upon the air with the sheer force behind them.

"So now, spirits. I must ask of you this; what are you? What are you to know nothing of the Hunt or of the fall of the Great Hunter, and yet be able to so freely speak of conflicts far and unknown to us?"
>>
>>3164890
Well, WE are an entity of joy and friendship, seeking friends and happiness and a soothing of all ills wherever we go. Blue, Red, and Purple were split from us, each representing an aspect of our personality. Blue being our willingness to fight for our friends, Red our inclination towards pacifism, and Purple our (admittedly not that often used, but still quite formidable) intelligence.

But that's who we are. What we are...we don't know. Not really. But that multiverse-hating thing doesn't like us.

As for the Hunt or the Great Hunter, well, we're kinda new to this dimension. Anything that's happened on this world, we are naturally ignorant of. If they want to tell us the story, they are more than welcome. Story time is always fun, and understanding is the first step towards friendship!

We have come to suspect that many worlds have been connected into one by someone or something. So to answer your question the reason why we know things you do not and why you know things we don't know is simply because we bith are from completely different worlds

As you explain the nature of your counterparts to the gathered wolves, they seem to grow more hard in their gaze, and turn and whisper/growl to one another, sharing words.

"Is this so, young spirit?" The head of the pack again intones, voice low.

"It is indeed, my good gentleman." Blackwood replies. "Some great force of evil scoured its way down the astral realms, quite intent on the lads destruction. Though admittedly, my knowledge on the subject is quite sparse, I believe that what he has said is quite right."

Again, the wolves whisper to themselves, with the growls and whispers being near-indiscernible to your ears.

>But that's who we are. What we are...we don't know. Not really. But that multiverse-hating thing doesn't like us.

"You speak so casually of the realms beyond, and of this great threat, spirit." The largest wolf speaks again. " And yet, we have heard little about this from any of the spirits we commune with. How did you come to this knowledge? For if you truly know not of the Great Hunter or Pangaea, then this will only bring more questions as to the truth of your nature"

"[Will you answer our questions if we answer yours?]" Purple presses, Blue and Red moving to stand by him for support.

"Yes. We shall do so to the best of our own ability, but there is-" Whatever the large wolf was going to say is cut off, as a gale of wind blows through the clearing, causing most of the wolves to back away in fear and seemingly shock, as a massive form of sharp red fur and mist seems to spontaneously manifest before you all. A great wolf of brilliant flaming red sits within the center of the clearing then, it's body rippling with raw power as the sharp wells of flames that act as its eyes stare forward unblinkingly towards you. And from but the mere feeling of the entity's presence, you'd say that it's almost unmistakably the same as you've felt throughout the woods up till this point.

"Mighty Totem, it is an honour." Recovering from his own short state of surprise, the head of the pack and his subservient wolves, along with the ones guarding you and RWB and FCS, make a kneeling/bowing motion of respect to the clearly esteemed being.

It seemingly choses not to regard them, instead continuing to stare toward you, and you alone. As if awaiting your response.

Hello New Friend! It's wonderful to meet you properly!

We met a companion named Vuindred, who while once human...probably, became so well-versed in the magics and underpinning physics of all reality that he was able to transcend them, creating a dimension to his own liking and servants to fill it.

First thing we remember is almost smashing into him as we arrived in an adjacent world.

While he was slow to accept the TRUTH OF FRIENDSHIP at first, he gave us a task through which to prove our willingness to be friends. The retrieval of a ring from a Fey Lord who had earned his ire.

The Fairy Lord and his whole realm had already fallen to the Enemy. Even as we met up with Blackwood and Spanko, we were confronted by a corruption that had taken hold of the Fey denizens. A malevolence so bleak, so thorough, that there was no hope of redemption. No possibility of friendship. It was...anathema to us, as much as we were to it. We came across constructs that were fueled by this hatred, and slew a great many, but when we attempted to root out the source of the apparent corruption...there was no choice but to flee. Ring in tow, thankfully.

Unfortunately, the Enemy followed us to Vuindred's realm as we brought the ring to him. Last we saw, he was mobilizing the entirety of his own personal reality to stymie the very real threat, and we had left him with a gift of Purifying Fire, something that truly seemed to at least wound what little of the corruption it touched, but...I fear that he has only bought us time, let us evade it for now. It is nearby, in-so-much as that word means anything when dealing with distances of this nature.

That was a few Dimensions ago. We have made friends since then, and have tried to warn them of the danger as we warn you now. Unfortunately, misunderstandings like we've had with you have made progress...somewhat difficult on that front. We are thankful that you have listened, and hope that this is merely the beginning of a long, beautiful friendship.

>Hello New Friend! It's wonderful to meet you properly! *Long story of your current history thus far*
You begin to explain to the giant, glaringly red spirit wolf how you arrived here, and all that has transpired thus far since you came to awake in this new reality. You're not really sure how long you've been babbling on for, but by the time you take to look up and around, you see that your surroundings have changed utterly. Instead of earth and trees and a large grove, a swirling sea of patterns and colors surrounds you, with the great red wolf sitting directly in the middle of it all. As you look around, it seems that none of your friends are around at all, nor are the other wolves. Just you and the spirit.

"YOU HAVE COME A LONG WAY"

You startle at the sudden, booming presence that forms itself into words within your head. You look to the great wolf, who has tilted its own head towards you, eyes shining brilliantly.

"COME. YOU SEEK KNOWLEDGE OF THE GREAT HUNTER DO YOU NOT?"

>STORY TIME! Accompany New Friend wolf-person (name is to-be-learned) and join them in a great show of exposition!
>Nod and say: "I do indeed"
>Cheerfully say "Yes, my friend!"
"Blorble." You respond, nodding vigorously at the spirit.

"VERY WELL THEN. LET US WALK THE PATH OF THE ANCIENT HISTORY TOGETHER."

And with those words, the speeding colors around you stilled, and changed...

>Long ago, before the sundering of all that was truly known, there were no divides between flesh and spirit, no Gauntlet to cross for those who were material and those who were not. There was only the Land, the pure place. There was only Pangaea. And Him. Him of the Border Marches that were.

>Greatest of the hunters, He who was the fanged king, the Great Predator. You would not know Him in his totality, for that would truly be beyond your comprehension, as He was rock, storm, sea, and soil all in one. Beyond all but the mightiest of spirits, He held no true name, but all knew of Him through whispered titles all the same. For He was Urfarah, Father and Mother, the Alpha.

>And so it was that Urfarah hunted and kept balance within the domains of flesh and spirit, for it was with His might of fang and claw that He pushed the mortals back into the safety of the world of flesh, and laid low even the mightiest of spirits that would try to disturb them. All to ensure peace between the realms. His might was so great that it roused even the Moon-Warden, Holy Luna herself, to come down and bear with him the First Pack, mortal flesh and mighty spirit as one. Such it was for a time, for the longest of times.

>But it did not last. Father Wolf, Mighty Urfarah grew steadily weaker, though the decline would seem near imperceptible to any mortal standpoint, and even that of many spirits. The fell Pangaean demons it faced for the protection of both worlds tore away at its eternal flesh, severing fragments of its soul which took root within the spirit humanity, a means of prolonging its being. But even this merely delayed what was coming, as humanity turned from the ways of the hunt to agriculture, and the Great Hunter again spiralled into weakness. Or so it is believed.

>And when the formless Idigam arose, and the Great Predator took to culling them, they dug through His flesh and soared from His jaws, weakly cutting away at him as they did so. This tireless hunt continued until the Formless Ones were thrown upwards and entrusted by Luna to guard forevermore. And as He gradually weakened, Father Wolf's age-old enemies, the Pangaean demons that would one day fragment into the Hosts, struck and sprung their macabre traps, as ones such as the Spinner-Hag had done.

>But it was not They who slew Urfarah. Indeed, the action that tore apart Pangaea was naught more than a horrible mistake. A mistake wrought by those who believed they were doing right, that they were ensuring a better future.

>A mistake that has never been truly forgiven...

>Ask him "What was their mistake?"
The great wolf spirit slumps its head, as if in disappointment or in regret. It seems that it might not like talking about this next bit.

>We fell upon Him, our own father, and slew him when He grew too old and too weak to maintain his once-eternal vigil. Perhaps we thought we were doing the right thing, but in the end, it brought nothing more than shame and suffering. Our father's final howl tore apart the very fabric of the worlds, and erected the Gauntlet, the barrier separating the worlds of spirit and flesh forevermore. This was the Sundering, and with its happening, Pangaea itself dissolved and faded away, to be forgotten by all but the oldest of us. And myself, a totem of knowledge severed from something greater.

>Now do you see, Spirit? Now do you see the greatest of our failures, and what it has brought upon us? Perhaps if your toe holds true, we can-

A shrill scream echoes throughout the void you both sit in, and the great wolf's head snaps up, as if it were in shock.

"SOMETHING HAS DISRUPTED THIS DOMAIN." The words boom into your head one last time, and your vision suddenly snaps back to the material, and you see-

Abominations, all around. Fleshy atrocities speed through the woods and begin to assault the gathered werewolves around you. Broken and disjointed masses of flesh and bone slam into the bulky furred bodies of changed werewolves. And even as they get rent apart, you can see them just pulling themselves together again, or continuing to attack, even in fleshy chunks. As you look at this display of twisted horrors, something lodges itself in your mind, a familiarity with the horrors before you.

"The Flesh that Hates." Blackwood whispers, quiet and composed even as you see a particularly large mass of meat slam into one of the wolves and send them hurtling through several trees. You hear Spanko shout something, but you can't particularly make it out over the screaming and shrieking fleshy horrors beyond "Flesh skipper starboard sunny-side" or something along said lines.

"[Alright Orange, what's the gameplan?]" Blue shouts, already cutting away at *something* that drew too close, as Purple and Red try to burn away at it.

You sound of orders to your gathered allies, who give various affirmatives (with Blue and Spanko giving their best sailor impersonations as they do so). Motioning to Red to follow you, as he and Purple finish burning away an errant piece of flesh, you begin to push your mass forward and expand along the ground, with Red following behind and clearing the way, as both Blue and Spanko rush forward to deal with what looks like twin animated masses of human spinal columns trying to seemingly consume a werewolf in their mass. You can hear Purple chanting to form his barrier, whilst you hear the tell-tale signs that Blackwood has engaged in combat with something trying to interrupt him.

You surge forward across the battlefield, your pseudopods moving quickly and with surgical precision as you grab several fleshy horrors and pull them screaming and twitching into your mass, before proceeding to burn them away in purifying flames within yourself.

>Skill Mass Builder has attained a new level of realization (D+). You feel as though you possess better control over how to bolster and expand your own mass. You can even amplify your purifying touch via expanding now!

"[T-There's t-too many, Orange! We're g-going to get o-overwhelmed!]" Red shouts out, voice stuttering heavily, even as he burns another advancing beast to ashes. And even as you dissolve them with purifying power within yourself, you just don't see a major impact in the number of creatures.

"Indeed. You should put more stock in your red kinsman's words, Scarlet child."

Before you can properly register where the unknown voice is coming from, you catch a flash of bloody red flesh and light bearing down on you.

You manage to dodge out of the way, just as the ball of caustic and bubbling red soars past you and explodes in a flare of corruptive light and the haze of blood-vapor. You watch as the ground touched by the noxious mass bubbles and froths before pulling itself upwards into a new mutated aberration, which is quickly put to the torch by Red.

"Ah. Tis' a shame that it had missed. Would have been interesting to see what effects it would have on such an exotic creature." A lightly accented voice sighs, before the speaker steps into view before you, walking amidst the carnage calmly and without fear of what is going on around them. Before you, you can see a young male with pasty skin and dusty brown hair, dressed in somewhat archaic clothing, standing with a small smile painted upon his lips.

"But alas, we cannot choose how events may play out. Well at least, not myself." The male chuckles to himself.

"[W-Who are you?]" Red stutters, staring at the positively strange youth who had stepped into the battlefield out of nowhere.

"I have gone by many names, over many periods, child. Though I doubt you would wish to hear all of them, and the name for this face is perhaps ill-suiting now. In that case, you may call me Karcist Varis. It is a pleasure for us to finally meet."

As the youth introduces himself, you catch a brief flash across your mind, and you see the figure before you crumble into nothingness and something else take its place. A vast titan of eyes and tongues, spreading out all around you, and laughing with each of its many stolen faces, a laughter born of broken screams and mindless suffering. And jsut as suddenly as you have that vision, the boyish face snaps back into place, but whatever illusion that was there is long gone.

This is no child.

"Ah, so you *do* see. Then tell me, child of Scarlet; what shall be your first move?"

There are still werewolves around, right? Have Blue, Spanko, and Blackwood help them get out of here while Red and Purple cover them from the flesh, meanwhile we'll try and distract this fuckboi by shooting an ice-beam at him.

I'd also like us to try to be ready to counter with our sword once he inevitably dodges our beam, since this guy seems like a very "*teleports behind you*" type of guy, but I'm not sure if that would be too metagame-y or not, plus as far as I know he might do something completely different anyways.
I guess just be on guard after beaming him, regardless.
>>
>>3178432
Might as well let Purple finish his barrier. It would slow down the reinforcements
>>
>>3178560
Oh yeah, he's still doing that, isn't he?
I guess we'll just keep doing what we were before this guy showed up (purple making a shield, spanko and blue getting the furries outta dodge, red helping us, and blackwood covering purple) except with us trying to freeze Karcist instead of purifying the flesh.
Maybe red could try shooting some magic at Kars, too.

I mainly wanna get the werewolves out of here so we can use Voice of Pain, I'd imagine their hearing's probably too sensitive to not get hurt from it even with a warning.

SCP Yaldaboath\Demiurge (technically different terms with different meanings but whatever) just like mythological Gnostic Demiurge is oblivious to anything which isn't physical or fleshy so I think we could try hopping in his soul space and frying his connection to Yaldy directly pdeowering him completely. Unless this is grand karcist Ion but what is unlikely
>>
>>3178580
Ah, is that so? I'm admittedly not all too well versed in SCP lore, so I don't really know what this guy's deal is.
That seems like a good idea, but I feel like we might not be good enough at soul-diving to do it to somebody like this guy without some severe risks.
Then again, it might also be the best option in this scenario...
I think we should try attacking him with an ice-beam first, then once he tries counter-attacking have red try to use a spell on him. Hopefully he'll get distracted enough by red for us to jump into his soul.
>>
>>3178582
Extremely TL;DR Version
Yaldy was a chaotic primordial god of flesh and physicality and Mekhane machine god of logic who established rules to creation. Mekhane gave intelligence to mindless beasts of Yaldy creating humans which angered Yaldy who is an arrogant idiot god who is oblivious to everything not made by him and caused a great cosmic war between them which ended in Mekhane locking Yaldy in a cage made out of himself
Broken pieces of Mekhane, his 6 angels and church of the broken god are responsible for things like http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-914 while Yaldy's trashing in her cage, her Sarkicist cult and her 6 archons are responsible for things like http://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-610 which is attacking us right now

>who is oblivious to everything not made by him
Ah. I somehow thought >>3178580 saying he was oblivious to non-flesh/physical things was a typo (some-fucking-how). Maybe we won't even need red's help for this and we'll be able to blindside him with the ice-beam and freeze him? Assuming it's non-physical enough to count.
For now, I guess we'll just wait for OP to come back and see what happens with that, unless someone wants to come up with a better plan.

Perhaps a better way to put it is that Yaldy doesn't lack the ability and power to see things not made by her but she is so arrogant that she even refuses to acknowledge them. A good example of this is how Sarkicist cults believe Mekhane to be a minor god despite the fact what it's laughably wrong. Yaldy just wants reality to be a lawless chaotic mess populated by mindless beasts driven by instinct

As for combat plan I agree with fighting him using mundane methods for now, although it's likely he's filled to brim with physical enchantments seeing how organic manipulation is their specialty

Red: Support me. Keep the beasts from interfering and fire some potshots at the Karcist then you get the chance, avoid fighting him head on leave that to me. Good luck buddy

"Blorble-blorb, blorb [Red, cover me and keep those things out of the way. I'll contact Blackwood and tell him to help get everyone out.]" you instruct your counterpart without taking eyes off of the *thing* in front of you. Red seems somewht less shook up in that moment, and merely shouts "R-Right!" before turning to fire boiling red flames at several approaching beasts.

Seems like he's getting better at this. You should really have a talk with him later.

"Do you truly think that destroying mere extensions of my being changes anything child?" Varis speaks, voice quiet and amused. "Surely you must see how futile this all is-"

You don't let him finish before you clutch your dream trinket, and a beam of freezing ice rockets out from you and slices through the side of his head, blasting apart the right side of his skull entirely.

"How intriguing." Varis responds, the amusement in its voice having changed to something you can't quite place. "So you can channel some power of your own it seems. And the taste. Your inheritance is there, but there is also something else. The touch of Alagadda perhaps?"

"It matters little in the end. Allow me to show you the gift of His Vastness."

Varis raises a hand, and beneath you the ground explodes, tendrils of flesh and blood unfurling themselves from the corrupted earth, and rows of gnashing teeth waiting patiently below to suckle you in and rip you to shreds.

Bird form followed by snow storm aimed at Varis to disable the flesh rising from the ground as I don't trust being airborne is enough to avoid being grabbed by them, it doesn't matter if he manages to dodge the only reason to aim at him is to put some pressure on him while we deal with the creep without giving him free time to do what he wants.

We should at least save it until we know for sure we can beat him with it.

You dart upwards from the groping mass of bloody tendrils, having shifted into your bird shape, and you hover above the ground, glaring down towards Varis who stares upward at you calmly, as the side of its head pulls itself back together from your last attack.

Without waiting even a moment longer, you feel for the presence of oyur Dream Trinket, and channel as much energy as you can into it, and then you set it loose. A storm of raw power comes crashing down upon the Karcist below as you set the floodgates loose, who doesnt even attempt to pull away or dodge months oncoming tide, instead having a thin smile placed upon his lips as the storm rockets downwards.

Below you, you see Red moving back, and you can detect the presence of Blackwood and the others leading the remaining werewolves away form the area, leaving just you and Red against the horror before you.

As the snow-storm begins to lessen in intensity, you see that the flesh pushing itself fromm the ground has stilled in its movements, alongside the other fleshy mutants. And as you look to the epicentre of the blast, where you struck at Varis, you see nothing more than a mess of blood and melted bone remaining where the Karcist once was. It honestly seems like you've finally brought an end to him. An end to the threat at last-

You feel it before you see it. A revolting 'snap' in reality, as the masses of meat below you cry as one and dissolve into pools of blood and flesh-colored fluids. A scream, thousands upon thousands of screams. All echoing throughout the aether. And then the very space below you begins to split open, yawning wider and wider as it does so, until you can see the full extent of the terror before you. And that's only before it begins to push itself upwards, as all of the melted lesser abominations seem to be pulled in towards it, like some sort of singularity of flesh and bone.

As it finally raises the uppermost half of itself up towards you from within that writhing pit, you hear a voice. The same calm and composed tone from before, but underlaid with the very essence of countless crying out in anguish and horror.

"This game has certainly grown more and more entertaining, child. But do you not think it unfair for you to be the only one with tricks to show? Allow me to begin moving my own pieces on this table of ours..."
