It still need concentration to keep focus, it's not at the level like a standard Shadow clone that you can freely cut your resources in half without it negatively effecting you to have it use jutsus on it's own. Or use techniques like chakra flow just yet.

Right now it's still just a better tangible shadow clone/doppelganger. But it's getting there and as it is right now it's still incredibly useful.

So in other words, longer than most fights last at this power level. Not enough for crazy week-long battles like in a Ninja World War, but for everything up to the Chunin Exams it's more than enough. Nice.

Seven days since the tree climbing exercise and already just look at you. You feel so much more accomplished than you were when your training began. Not only do you now got a solid grip on Shape and Nature Transformation, but you also polished your skills with Chakra Flow.

It was safe to say you were starting to live up to your name as the one with perfect chakra control. It nearly made up for the fact you currently held the least amount of chakra on the team. Although to be fair, you were with a prestigious clan prodigy and a literal chakra monster. So your average chakra wasn’t worth antagonizing yourself over with.

Just yesterday you had the strangest of encounters when going to pick up Naruto. A strange woman wearing a pink kimono. You were picking herbs and medical equipment to replenish your stock.

Just because you could heal without any outside assistance didn’t mean you should neglect the herb’s importance. As you picked them, the two of you shared a rather enlightening conversation. It went from talking about training to questioning the truth purpose for gaining strength.

You were somewhat stumped about that. The only answer you could think of was to help people. This made the stranger happy at your naivety and purity. You also mentioned in your embarrassment that you wanted to improve. To be stronger than you were yesterday.

The mysterious figure pointed out that their eyes were the same as yours. A strong desire to look for self-validation. To feel useful to others and to live through them. It made you question how alike the two of you are but you didn’t press it.

It was out of fear of being rude but also your own insecurities that you didn’t want to face. The mysterious figure changed the subject with another question.

What exactly lies beyond strength? What was considered to be true strength? Did you have someone you truly cherish most? You weren’t sure to these answers and even know they still plague you.But the mysterious figure encouraged you to take it one step at a time.

You felt happy meeting the figure as they were so kind and pure. The same compliment they gave to you. Of course you felt really down when they reveal to you that they were a boy. A boy with long hair managed to look prettier than you. You weren’t sure if that made you more mannish or they were just better being feminine than you. That was another blow to your ego.

As you reflect upon that day, you were getting ready to leave. Sasuke was now going to accompany alongside Kakashi for protection duty. And you were just getting used to the solitude of doing ninja work by yourself too.

All jokes aside you felt comfort that they were coming along with you. The bridge was almost done and soon you’d be able to go back home. To continue practicing at your own pace while sharing experiences with your friends.

It was supposed to be a simple day of guarding. Yet here you are currently standing in against what appears to be an ambush. The hidden mist has return as your line of vision starts to disappear. Your worst fears were met when Zabuza appeared with the masked boy Haku. Of course you couldn’t actually see them due to the thickening mist. That didn’t stop you from keeping your guard up. With kunai in hand, you start to look around for Zabuza.

“Sorry to keep you waiting Kakashi. I see you’ve got those brats with you as always.” Zabuza’s voice starts to ring in your ear. You kept yourself calm but Sasuke’s right hand was trembling.

“He’s still trembling. Poor thing.” Before any of you notice, you found yourself surrounded by countless Zabuzas from all sides. Each one getting ready to attack. Your eyes still looked to Sasuke as he smirks.

“I’m trembling with…. excitement.” Sasuke smiled, shocking Zabuza for a fraction of a second as he ends up grinning even more.

“Do it, Sasuke & Sakura.” Kakashi smiled. He had complete faith in your skills but more importantly in your teamwork. You and Sasuke briefly exchanges glances. Lining yourself on exactly what to do.

“Right!” You both said in unison.

In a blink of an eye both you shoot off in opposite positions. To the normal eyes it was like both of you vanished completely. However, a trained shinobi could perceive your precise movements. Each one of the water clones of Zabuza found themselves assassinated by the two ace students. Sasuke took most of the assault. You on the other hand kept Tazuna safe and served as a safety net for Sasuke to go wild.

When it was over both you and Sasuke stood victorious on opposite sides. The only traces of your onslaught was the puddles of water that once served as the vessal for the water clones.

“So you discerned the Water Clone jutsu. The brat with the raven haired has grown quite a bit. More interestingly enough is the brat with the pink hair. Since she didn’t get involved in our last fight I thought she was just a walking meat shield. So color me impress. The rivals just keep emerging for you, Haku.” Zabuza finally emerges from the mist to greet you directly.

“So it would seem.” Haku replied, also appearing simultaneously next to Zabuza.

A brief exchange between your group and Zabuza’s on Haku’s deception made itself quick. Tazuna was realistically shocked about it while you and Sasuke had already came to the hypothesis during training.

“Still, it’s insulting that he showed himself after all that.” You pouted.

“I hate brats who think they’re so cool.”

“Master Kakashi. While I agree with you, oddly enough I get the feeling you were no different at his age. He’s even better at you with the mask look.”

“Oh……really?” Kakashi stutters a bit.

“I’ll handle him. Sakura you stand back.” Sasuke interjects, taking you off by surprise.

“Huh?” You raise your eyebrow while narrowing your eyes. Sure, chances are you’d have to protect Tazuna. But it would at least be nice if Sasuke discussed it with first.

“I get the feeling you have tremendous pent up emotions just from working with your comrades.” Haku interjects, noticing the tension between the two of you.

“How can you tell? Thanks for asking.” You smiled, still obviously angry but it soon went away.

“Fine, it’s not like you’ll listen to me if I suggest working together. Just don’t lose.”

See you two can get along after all. Of course it always felt like you were the one making compromises rather it being a fair two-way street. Regardless, you took to defending Tazuna while watching Sasuke’s fight.

It goes without saying it was a battle of speed. You were learning a lot from this fight. Such as using water to skate across the floor and using rotation to build up both strength and speed. Naturally Sasuke countered every move Haku made. That is until Haku starts to move just his right hand to make hand signs.

“O-One hand signs?!?!” You muttered in complete shocked. Judging from Kakashi’s face he was equally shocked. In mere moments Haku summoned a countless barrage of needles.

You wanted to help Sasuke but you also had faith in him. Instead you burned into memory Haku’s fighting style. On the worst case scenario, it’d be you who’d have to finish the fight. Your faith was rewarded by seeing Sasuke use the chakra control training to speed blitz Haku and catch him off guard.

After another few exchange of words your eyes manage to catch something off from Haku. You could actually see the blue chakra flowing through him. Before you have time to warn Sasuke, he was already trapped. A dome of mirrors soon surrounded Sasuke from all directions. The mirrors were made of pure ice as each one reflects an image of Haku. Just what kind of jutsu was this?

Kakashi tries to run towards Sasuke to help him out. He was quickly met by Zabuza who blocked him. You get the feeling that you could sneak behind them to help Sasuke. Unfortunately, Zabuza was no fool. He would take advantage of that to either attack you or Tazuna.

That would put Kakashi at great risks. So you were forced to watch instead. The scene of Sasuke getting thrashed by Haku made you upset. Yet you told youself to calm down. Rushing in recklessly would do nobody any good. You still had your trump card to rely on to get passed this.

“Tazuna…...I have a plan in the works. So please understand….”

“Don’t say any more. Just do what you have to.”

“…. Thank you Tazuna.”

You waited for the right moment. That one chance where you could take advantage of. At worst you were going to force that chance right now. So you threw a Kunai as it gets passed the others. It was aimed directly at Haku but he was too fast.

Not only did he dodge it but he caught it as well. Mentally you cursed yourself for not being fast enough. As luck would have it, it did open up a chance. A lone shuriken comes out of nowhere. Haku suddenly suffered a direct hit on the mask before he could attack Sasuke.

Quickly he fell to the ground as smoke start to form. Everyone was distracted, this was your chance!

We can't risk Haku recovering and continuing the attack on him. Get Sasuke out quick. If we get caught in the dome instead, we can get out more easily thanks to being able to burrow.

How I see this going is that we use our hair as a shield, since we can grow it long enough to cover our entire body. After a lul in his attacks we strike all the mirrors at once. Quick, efficient, and cool.

Of course it would be the number one hyperactive ninja to get involved in such a manner. You didn’t even need to see the smoke clear to gather who would do such an idiotic move. You’re going to have to really chew Naruto out for being a complete and utter dumbass. Such a lecture would have to wait for later. Right now you decide to use the chance that Naruto opened up to initiate your plan. Naruto was pretty damn lucky that you were an opportunist who knew what the ninja rulebook was. Otherwise this wouldn’t have worked in your favor.

With the quick and silent weaving of your hands, you summon Inner Sakura. To pull this off required you to do it in a way that no one would notice. Thus, you created Inner Sakura around your skin to overlap with you. The slightest mistake would be disastrous for you. So if nothing else, you’d have to thank Naruto for being such a good distraction.

Thanks to the training you did with Inner Sakura no one would be the wiser. Right down to capturing the tiniest of details. Your doppelganger would succeed in serving as your stand in. For added insurance, you made sure your clone act how you would in this situation once you separate yourself from the current area point.

With the explosion serving as your cover, you start to send chakra to the ground with your feet. Turning your footing into a fine sand powered. The moister in the area helped you greatly in making the sand act like quicksand. Slowly you slip down into the earth, trying your best not to alert anyone.

It was a delicate procedure that needed the finest of chakra control. Fortunate for you that you have that in spades. Before long you were now buried into the ground thanks to the hiding like a mole technique. In order to be sure that you were safe, you sank to being around six feet under. Perhaps even further than that to try and avoid detection. At least you weren’t claustrophobic. Though you were coming in close from how dangerous this was.

Slowly you swim in the liquidized sand, leaving your trace of trickery patched up. Sure it would take longer than you would like to reach where Sasuke was. It was still better to be smart and take it steady than to be reckless and impatient. You occasionally made pockets of air to breath. Otherwise most of the trip you were holding your breath. Shinra Banshou probably would’ve did the trick much easier without the risk of suffocation. Doing what would other be two B rank jutsus back to back would most likely attract too much attention. Not to mention the stress you’d have trying to continuously maintain them both simultaneously. This was the right decision.

Now that you finally made your way to the ice mirror dome you can start to plan accordingly how to counter attack. The second advantage that Hiding like a Mole gave was the magnetic forces and seismic senses it bestowed upon you. You were truly thankful that Kakashi taught you those Earth jutsus. Because now you could watch the fight from below and plan accordingly to make for a counter attack. Although you didn’t consider Naruto would be so dumb as to directly dive into the mirror trap! You wanted Naruto attack the mirrors from the other side while you stood stationary to rescue Sasuke while Haku was distracted. The number one knucklehead ninja was making this so much worse than it need to be. If you survive this you’re going to positively pummel the little shrimp for being so dumb!

You continue to remain buried underneath picking up the battle. It was still something to get used to given that you were buried deep underground. Yet you could see it clear as day. You work this to your advantage by keeping your distance. Simultaneously you start to intensely watch Haku’s movements. While it hurts you seeing your comrades in pain, it was a necessary evil. You needed to adjust your earth movement directly in conjunction with Haku’s rhythm.

He was moving at speeds that were hard to pick up even for you. You almost compared it to light speed which had to have been impossible. There had to be some sort method to the madness. Through your best efforts, you begin to predict where Haku was going to attack next. The amount of times it took seeing Sasuke and Naruto get hurt to get the pattern down did test your resolve. Slowly you start to maneuver the floor with your earth chakra.

Through your efforts Haku starts to miss vital signs with his senbons. The damage they took lessen considerably with their legs and spinal cord also protected. Despite your best efforts, Haku still manages to wear both Sasuke and Naruto down. There was only so much you could do without alerting Haku’s attention. He was bound to realize that something was up and his attacks weren’t hitting the mark. So you decide to give Naruto and Sasuke a much needed hand.

“Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!” Sasuke aimed at where Haku was going to aim next after Naruto went off and did another Multi-Shadow Clone Barriage.

You timed yourself for this precise moment. With careful movement, you aimed Sasuke and Naruto’s attacks directly at Haku. All of the mirrors were floating above the ground. So even if you wanted to it wouldn’t be possible to move the mirrors without notice. Instead you were going to use the ground while Haku was distracted to create an opening.

Surely Haku wouldn’t be able to dodge both Naruto and Sasuke’s combination attack and your subtle usage of Earth Release. That is until you saw Haku managing to shield himself from the Great Fireball Jutsu. His leg was caught by the attack but he was still able to mitigate the damage with his ice and strike the Naruto that came closest to punching him. The resulting stunt has Haku landing on to the ground. This still worked in your favor as you were about to reach for Haku’s leg.

“Certain-Kill Ice Spears” Emerging from Haku’s hand was a series of several large ice spikes. They were coming downwards at you at very high speeds. It was hard to tell if he knew where you were or was just splintering the floor just out of a mere hunch. Regardless, you needed to act fast or else you were going to get skewered like a fish.

How red can we get the petals on that one genjutsu that let's you burst into a bunch of petals? Think we can fake a spray of something which looks like blood when the spears hit? (Meta wise this is more to ruse Naruto and Sasuke into thinking we've been hit than fool Haku. They still need to bust out the fox / sharingan and Sakura fucking around with the mirror dome has delayed that. But the petals may distract Haku for the vital few seconds Sakura needs to jump him)

Shinra banshou is risky since we're already running inner. I don't think we can keep it up for a prolonged period of time, and I'm sure Haku will be dead set on flushing us out.

See here, I'm not trying to fool Haku, I'm trying to get Sasuke and Naruto's asses into gear. The petals are like an extra level of smokescreen that Sakura can easily throw up while hustling below ground to sneak attack Haku.

You previously lunged yourself to try and catch Haku’s leg when he landed on to the ground. You didn’t counter for him already making his attack on you. Only a fraction of a second was left for you. There was no time for you to think. You weaved the tiger hand sign, activating Shinra Bansho in the nick of time.

Through your quick movement and Shinra Banshou, you manage to avoid taking a direct hit. Shinra Banshou took the brunt of the attack on the areas you predicted that were going to get hit. It was only for an instant, but that instant was more than enough for you. So you proceed to bet on tricking Haku and your friends to open up another chance.

“Hundred Blooming Flowers Technique!” You mentally scream in between outmaneuvering the spikes.

For this to truly work you needed to take some brunt of the attack to open up a wound. It was around your right side. It wasn’t fatal and in time your body would heal the damage. But it served perfectly as the medium you needed. You laid your trap, going through all the stops to trick Haku.…and your friends.

The trail of blood starts to leak from one of the holes that Haku made underground with his ice spikes. The Genjutsu you implanted made it look like Haku had indeed skewered someone underneath the running pool of blood.

Both Sasuke and Naruto in their half tired state were caught off guard. The sight of blood and the scent of their friend Sakura could only tell them that the worst has happened. Haku meanwhile continued to keep his hand on the ground, getting the feeling that he clearly hit something. And yet…

“Sakura!” They cried out. There was no doubt, it had to have been you. Tension start to rise up as the loom of dread continues. It was safe to say that they were pushed to their breaking point from this little fiasco.

You on the other hand took it upon yourself to maneuver yourself elsewhere. Now was your chance and you weren’t going to let it slip. As Haku continues to look at his handiwork, you suddenly popped out from the ground behind him. Fists clenched together tightly, you quickly throw your strongest punch at Haku. It was going to connect. At least…that’s what should have happened.

It was impossible. At the same time, you couldn’t give it away you were gone. I also hypothesize that you’re using a double to trick all of us.”

This Haku was truly terrifying. Just how did he know that you would be trying to help your teammates. Even if there were mirrors above you, you weren’t sloppy…. right? There was no way with his fast movement he could have enough observation to notice the shift in the earth. So how was he breaking down your tactics with his hypothesis.

While it was true your attention mainly focused on Naruto and Sasuke. You still saw the events with Kakashi and Zabuza as it happened in real time through Inner Sakura. For instance, you knew that Kakashi was injured and Zabuza has resorted to relying solely on his acute hearing. You were honestly lucky Kakashi was keeping him at bay. Otherwise, he’d probably try and attack Inner Sakura right now.

“Admirable to still cling to hope despite the odds. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to use the earth around you. Your left arm has been partially frozen and the ground has been sealed with my ice. So your tactics have also been cut in half. And I won’t give you a chance to recover!” Haku quickly jumps back into the mirror. Preparing to make another swift onslaught directly at you.

Even if we do burst free of the ice then the boys are still stuck in the mirror dome, so we're literally back to square one. Hopefully the combo of seeing us (almost) getting skewered, us actively getting attacked and Haku focusing the brunt of attention on us will be enough to allow them to break free.

I kinda want to leave our hair jutsus in reserve. Those jutsu and shinra bansho are our two trump cards, since Haku hasn't had a chance to observe them yet.

B. Point another weakness/flaw in both Inner Sakura in character as well hint at the other reason you're on Team Seven. You got the brains but not the Fighting Instinct. Something that Naruto and Sasuke forged through their constant battles and bickering.

Can we get the color of his Susanoo to change? That's the only change to Sasuke's Mangekyo that I'm interested in. Because the fused Susanoo/Kurama combo move has just such an awful color scheme. Purple and yellow, it's not great. Inner Sakura is probably going to wind up wearing it at some point after growing to giant size, we need to give our triple chakrazord fusion a better look than that.

You slammed your remaining hand down to propel yourself again. Watching Haku’s movements started to give you new ideas with Chakra Flow. If nothing else this fight was helping you improve. Haku on the other hand closed in on you with his speed. You turn your body midway to avoid a stab. His strike still grazes you, but it was better than the alternative.

With one hand frozen your options were heavily limited. The ground was frozen in ice, more specifically there was an incredibly thick layer of ice over it. Making Earth jutsus would be that much harder. Not to mention you’d have to break through the ice to dig underground. Something that Haku will not give you the opportunity to do. Safe to say that you were at a great disadvantage.

Not to mention you were forced into the outside by Haku to keep you separated. The barrier of the ice mirrors kept Naruto and Sasuke from interfering. But the cold was getting to them even if they weren’t trapped. How were you going to tackle this situation with your limited options? As you wrack your brain around it, Haku appears yet again to strike at you. You quickly turn to avoid a direct hit, but he stabbed you good in right abdomen as you pull back. Already Haku returned to the mirror.

“Forget it!” You reached into your pocket to pull out a Kunai before running. This was the perfect time to rely on the basics. As you ran you saw Haku’s image constantly appearing.

No matter how far you run to circle around the mirror, he seems to always keep up with you. Forcing you to be on the defensive as you dodge his barrage of attacks.

With careful turns and graceful flips, you relied solely on your acrobatics to mitigate the damage. Unfair to you however Haku was forming an Ice mirror behind you after your latest flip.

You turn around to look directly at where the Ice Mirror was only to see it shattered. It was a diversion!

“Too slow.” Haku once again appeared behind you with senbon in hand. He thrusts against you as you manage to seemingly disappear from his sight. In that brief exchange you managed to use the Tiger sign. Achieving the requirements allowed you to perform the Body Flicker Technique.

“Shannarō!” You tried to catch Haku by surprise yet again, only for him to clash against your Kunai with his Senbon. He cleverly uses the force of your strike to launch himself back into the mirror.

Once again you found yourself on wits ends. Even with the Body Flicker Technique and your Chakra flow training. Haku was still faster than you. Though the difference between the two of you lessened greatly. You turn your attention back to Naruto as he was still on the ground. You had to do something.

“…Thanks for buying me time Sakura. I can see his movements much clearly now.” Sasuke smiles, revealing his Sharingan to you. That’s the same move that Kakashi pulled off! There was one tome on his right eye but two on his left. It wasn’t fully realized but at its currently level it was more than enough.

“I won’t let you!” Haku shouts, failing to hit you directly yet again as he then attempts to return to the mirror to finish Sasuke off.

Sensing the threat level coming from Sasuke, Haku quickly moves towards him. You knew that you have to stop him. So you put as much Chakra Flow as you can quickly muster to strengthen your hair to its strongest point. Your hair grew wildly in rapid session. In just a blink of an eye you were almost eclipsed by your long hair.

” Hair Binding Technique!” Multiple tendrils of hair shot out from you in their attempt to capture Haku. Unlike your body those strands of hair were far more fluid and could reach even greater speeds. So you placed your next gamble on it.

Just moments before making it to the mirror. Haku turns to notice himself getting surrounded by the tendrils. He resorted to shielding himself with one arm while reeling his other one behind him. He quickly attempts to freeze the strands. But your chakra protected the hair as he suddenly finds himself restrained.

“Gotcha!” Upon saying that, you found yourself stricken with multiple needles. The very same needles that were meant for Sasuke. Yet you toughen through the pain and only tighten the bindings on him. At long last you finally managed to put a stop to Haku. Or you so you thought as you notice his free hand was making hand signs.

“Shi- “Before you could restrain the hand, Haku had succeeded in completing the Jutsu. Quickly Haku preformed the One Thousand Needles of death by using one of the mirrors as the medium. Even after managing to partially capture Haku he still found a way to attack! Inner Sakura glitches a bit over your growing frustration over Haku continuously taking control of the situation from you.

“Sasuke Run!” You called out to him, unaware that the true aimed of the Thousand Needles…..was Naruto?!?!?!

Sasuke was one step ahead of you as he ends up pushing Naruto out of the way to take most of the brunt of the attack. To your horror both you and Naruto saw Sasuke getting punctured by Haku’s ice needles. Sasuke stood his grown and protected Naruto. A true shinobi raised by Kakashi.

Haku then took advantage of the shock of seeing Sasuke punctured by moving his restrained body quickly to you. Before you had the chance to gather your wits, you had the displeasure of receiving a powerful knee to the gut. The hair recoiled from the pain, allowing Haku to return to escape from your bindings.

“Is this the first time you faced a friend’s death? To have it happen in front of your eyes and be unable to stop it. Have you ever experienced the true horrors of combat? Or know what it truly means to be a ninja? How envious…. but that’s equally naïve. A ninja must never hesitate no matter what happens. “Haku lectures you while brushing his cloak. There were restrain marks on his limbs. Showing that he didn’t get out of that exchange uninjured.

“Your comrade was an admirable shinobi. To willingly plunge into a trap all for the sake of someone else. To protect someone dear to him…..he obtained true strength at that very moment. He’s a shinobi worth respect.” Haku snaps his fingers, forming several mirrors around you.

You were hit with a wave of emotions. So much so that Inner Sakura was having trouble keeping herself together. In order to keep yourself calm, you bite deeply into your arm. It was to the point that your frozen hand was dripping with blood. You looked at Haku with murderous intent. And yet you started to calm down.

“Can you really kill someone? Can you really do it with a heart as pure and kind as yours? And if you do…do you really believe you can carry the weight of taking another’s life?”

“….” You didn’t answer him. The questions he raised were very good points. You never once considered the possibility of killing someone. Just exactly what it means to take a life? And what burden would you face robbing someone of everything. Their hopes, dreams, futures, etc. It was heavy. Heavier than anything you faced. Yet you still rose up.

“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t be testing your resolve like this. I took your precious someone from you. To protect my dream. By every right you should come at me with the intent to kill. That is the way of the Ninja.” Haku pulls out more senbons as he readies himself.

The multitudes of mirrors that formed around you shattered. Your hair was wildly taking it out on the mirrors. Punching them in rapid session before ultimately breaking through them. Haku continued to look at you as you pick yourself up. You also got into fighting position.

On the sound of a drop of water did the two of you blitz towards one another. Haku took aimed while you just geared your fist into a punch. The rope burn injury from Haku’s legs weakened his once blinding speed. You on the other hand weren’t sure if it was good fortune or simply because you were too motivated by tranquil fury. But you found yourself being a fraction of a second faster than Haku.

In this cross counter showdown, you slam your fists as hard as you can against Haku. While simultaneously you harden your defenses to deflect the senbon. Haku was knocked through the mirror and back into his ice prison.

You slowly walk towards him, still brittle with emotion and adrenaline. The ice on your hand was melted and the wound on your body quickly start to heal. However, what would knock you out of your resolved state was the sight of Naruto. His body pulsated with red chakra.

He was still struggling to keep himself together. So you choose to leave Haku to Naruto without question. Through inner Sakura’s eyes you knew that Zabuza was caught. So you can send her off to watch the battle with Naruto and Haku just in case.

You quickly made your way to Sasuke. You desperately ran as fast as you could before you drop to your knees. Naturally you did all the steps needed to check on Sasuke’s condition. He was getting colder by the second and losing a lot of blood. He wasn’t dead but he was going to die soon.

“Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit!” You start slamming your hands against the ground. You were breaking the ice but you were causing quite the scene of destruction. Tears were flowing through your eyes as you think about the shinobi never showing any emotion. Yet you couldn’t help yourself. Instead you grit your teeth angrily trying to tackle the situation.

Calm down Sakura! There has to be away! Think! You’re Saura Haruno, top student in the academy! A proud member of team 7 damn it! As you try to decode this, you start to see life in Sasuke.

Sasuke shared a lot of shock and confusion Yet there was a hint of disappointment since after all he wanted to see how his Sharingan would compare to Haku. Not to mention Haku could’ve killed them multiple times and yet he didn’t. Sasuke would respect Haku but also find that insulting to his honor. He was ready to put his life on the line and didn’t need such charity.

For now, he would swallow his pride as you continue to heal him. You on the other hand was still thinking about his words. Both to you and Naruto as you learned about his background. It was oddly hypocritical that Haku talks about not killing one’s enemies isn’t an act of compassion. And yet he couldn’t bring himself to kill any of you.

It made you think what you would do in his position had Naruto didn’t interrupt the fight. You were running off pure emotion and adrenaline but even then. Could you have still done it? Could you take another’s life? These were questions that really tested what it means to be a ninja for you.

What truly got to you was the pain of not being needed by anyone. To live without a dream or validation. Your background wasn’t nearly as harsh as Haku’s. It did not change the fact you know that feeling to some extent. Had things have been different, you could’ve been a good friend to Haku.

This really begin to start making you question your own resolve and dream. You know people who experience the same suffering as Haku. To be hated for having something that others lacked. At the same time, you don’t know if you could really help them or was it just you being conceited.

“Sakura, it’s alright. You don’t need to overthink it…...” Somehow Sasuke was reading your mind. Although it wasn’t hard considering you had a deep look of sadness in your eyes. You chose to say nothing but nod. There would be time to really think about this later. Right now you focused your efforts in repairing Sasuke until he was able to freely move on his own.

For the next two weeks went as followed. In addition to improving what you know so far, you took it upon yourself to start wielding the Kubikiribōchō. The benefits from Tenten’s weapon training was really helping you slowly get a knack for wielding such a huge weapon. As well as knowing enough summoning jutsu to summon weapons. You didn’t want to draw too much attention by carrying a giant broadsword on your back.

Naruto may think it’s cool but you certainly didn’t. Meanwhile, Tenten learned from you proper chakra control in order to pursue her dream of being just like her idol Tsunade. Although, you had to adjust the sword style basics you learn to better fit with Kubikiribōchō.

The heaviness of the sword was having a helping hand with speed training. Your fight with Haku shows that you have much to learn. Sure you had Body Flicker as an ace in the hole. It didn’t mean you should neglect building up your leg muscles in conjunction with releasing your chakra.

What’s the point of herculean strength if you can’t hit anything? The resulted training pushed you up to being able to handle the yellow rose seal perfectly. Of course your physical skills were improving further so that four weight seal was still a blessing.


The knowledge of clones you gotten from your battles with Haku and Zabuza also helped further developing Inner Sakura. With her in hand you started to learn much faster than you would’ve normally. The real challenge was developing Inner Sakura to use chakra techniques such as chakra flow and shape & nature transformation.

We’re better off reserving that for thrown weapons. It’s also better to only use Kubikiribōchō as a last resort since it’s not really good for one on one fights and its likely to draw trouble if we use it casually.

You were gradually establishing Inner Sakura its own chakra pool without taxing yours negatively. More importantly, you were learning how to handle the constant information that you and Inner Sakura shared. It gotten to the point you could isolate certain feedback and control the flow. As an added bonus, fighting with Inner Sakura continued to teach you all about your strengths and weaknesses.

As for one handed jutsus…currently you were sitting outside waiting for the others as it was time to go. Seeing that you had some time, you decide to preform another jutsu. You start to move your fingers thinking about making a Rock Clone jutsu. A sharp jolt sends itself into your hand as you almost scream.

“…Yeah that’s exactly what I expected. Come on! Haku made it looks so easy….” You sigh to yourself as you slowly regain feeling in your hand. This was the second time in a row.

This didn’t come as a shock to you since that was the norm. One Handed signs were tremendously difficult. Not only did you have to regulate the chakra, but it also requires perfect memory and control of both the muscles and chakra flow. All of this done in a matter of seconds.

No wonder it was such a rarity. You estimated at your current level it was at a one to three chances of you successfully preforming it. The basics you gotten down to a single hand seal, but this was a whole another level. Honestly, your skills in chakra control made such a thing a possibility in the first place. Still you kept at it and were determined to make it your own.

These past two weeks has been quite the learning experience. But it didn’t just stop there. You set yourself to be closer to Naruto and Sasuke after that harpooning ordeal. Slowly things were getting back to normal. But you notice that Sasuke and Naruto were gradually becoming less antagonist to one another.

Sure they bickered and argue but it was far tamer then that. You can only guess since Sasuke nearly died for Naruto left quite the impression. While Sasuke could only get stronger because of Naruto and his bonds ended up mellowing him out. It made you especially happy. Though when you soon set off to say goodbye to Tazuna and his family. You can’t help but feel that they were still too stubborn to openly admit their feelings. Why did men have to be such blockheads?

As you embark off from the land of waves, you start to think what to do when you get home.

Eventually after what seem like forever you ended up back in Konohagakure. The four of you made your way into the village until you reach the break off point. Kakashi needed to do mission debriefing so you had a couple of days to do whatever. You, Sasuke and Naruto decided to just go home. There would be time to hang out later. But after the mission, you just needed some space to collect your thoughts. As you arrive home, you would see both of your parents at the dining table.

“Mom Dad…I’m home.”

“Welcome home Sakura.”

You ended up breaking down to your parents. Both Kizashi and Mebuki were confused by this but went to hug you. Naturally you didn’t tell them the full story. Having their twelve year old daughter go on an A ranked mission doesn’t even cover how ludicrous it’d be. Still you mention just how glad you are to be able to still have them be a part of your life. You didn’t want to take for granted what Naruto never got to experience and people like Sasuke & Haku lost.

After gushing out like that you decide to take the rest of the day off and recover. You were improving quite well enough already. So you can afford to take it easy for one day. For the entire day you got to experience what it was like to live a normal life. Reading books, watching tv, gardening, etc. You even played some games on the sideline. Anything to really distract you and take you out of the ninja life. It wasn’t that you hated it. Of course not, you just wanted to taste the other side of things for a change.

The next day you decide to head back to the usual training spot in the woods. After a day of recovery and relaxation you felt fully recharged. So it was time to get back into high gear. With the special scroll for your Kubikiribōchō, it was time to get back to work. Luckily enough as you made it to the spot you would see Lee and Tenten already practicing. Neji was at the back meditating as it was rather surprising to see him. He usually trained alone except for the moments that Tenten helped him.

“Hey! Sakura! It’s been far too long since we seen each other.” Lee waves at you.

“Hi guys. Am I interrupting anything?”

“Not it all Sakura. You’re always welcome as an honorary member of Team Guy.”


“I think the last time we saw you was during your graduation.” Tenten chimes in, keeping a soft smile with a finger to the cheek.

“Y-Yeah. Sorry about the lack of contact. I just been having a rather busy month.”

“Is it Naruto and Sasuke?” Tenten teases you.

“Cut it out! Like I have time to persuade any romances. And even if I did why would I choose my own teammates. “A flustering rejection on your part.

The way you talked about the two made you sound like a big sister watching over her obnoxious younger brothers. That wasn’t wrong considering how much of a handle they were. Tenten could only laugh as she continues to tease you.

“Is that so? You know most girls would’ve like being on a team like Sasuke. Naruto is also a hidden game especially when he’s not wearing that dumb orange jumpsuit and headband. Of course they can’t compete with Neji but you still got some good picks to choose.”

“Don’t tease her Tenten. It’s clear that Sakura sees the two of them as real close friends. Almost siblings even. Of course if I’m to be honest. I believe that only I am capable of protecting Sakura. The beautiful angelic flower of Konoha!”

“Don’t you start Lee!”

You were on edge but all three of you ended up laughing afterwards. Neji mainly kept to himself but he did open his left eye.

“With your chakra levels being different since last time. It’s safe to assume that you gotten a lot stronger now.”

“Guess I can’t hide anything from you.” You start to explain to Team Guy your adventures as you also find yourself reminiscing since that day.

Flashback Time

Currently you were at the woods near your secret spot. Once again you were training yourself to use the Body Flicker technique. The terrain served to be a good enough to push your maneuverability. You were getting the basics down but movement was still troubling. For a technique as fast as the Body Flicker technique it required perfect timing and control. Hence you chose the forest to force yourself to maneuver around the trees.

“Body Flick-“

“Hey Sakura!” Lee surprises you out of nowhere as you nearly trip up the jutsu.

“Don’t go popping in like that!” You snap back at Lee. It’s been six years since you first met Lee and you still couldn’t get used to his entrances.

“Sorry Sorry. I see you are working hard as ever.”

“Well it’s going to be my final year in the academy. I can’t exactly be slacking off.”

“Just what I expect from the woman I love. Your hardworking nature continues to shine brightly like the moon.”

“Lee I’d appreciate it if you at least hold back on the flattery. Anyway are you coming here to train again? I thought you would be with your team?”

“Actually I came here to introduce them to you.” Lee goes to introduce his team to you as they were coming into the distance.

Unsurprisingly you were tense and shaken from the sudden bomb dropped upon you. It would be more upsetting if you weren’t freaking out from the arrival. A brown haired girl with twin buns and pale brown haired male with purple eyes. You slowly drag Lee to another tree so you can talk privately with him. He was too starstruck to really fight back.

“First off Lee you should’ve warn me about something as important as this! Secondly I told you a thousand times I’m not interested in love. I barely even like myself that much.” You lecture Lee though your self-esteem issues were not uncommon to him.

“Nonsense! You’re great in every way, but to correct you it’s actually nine hundred and thirty fi-

“Don’t keep count! Ugh! Lastly why would they be coming here anyway.”

“Master Gai wants us to work on team bonding and believes we’d train more efficiently as a team. It’s my turn to pick the spot so I chose this location.”

You mentally pinch your eyebrows before letting out a sigh. Quickly you regain a cheerful expression on your face before dragging Lee with you back outside to greet the others. The grip on Lee’s shoulders was exceptionally tight. Anyone else would feel like their shoulder was about to dislocate.

“Sorry about that, just needed a moment. My name is Sakura Haruno. A pleasure to meet you.” You offer your hand to the girl next to you.

“Likewise, my name is Tenten. I’m a member of Team Guy like Rock Lee over there. “ Tenten shakes your hand, already sharing pleasantries.

“And the guy right next to me is Neji Hyuuga.”
A look of surprise overtakes your face as you hear the man’s name. The Hyuugas were one of the oldest clans in Konoha and currently the strongest. You only know one other Hyuuga and she was the current head’s first daughter. The world was quite small after all.

“Hi, nice to meet you Neji. I saw you back in the academy once or twice but this would be our first actual conversation. “As you address yourself you offer your hand to Neji which he accepts. There was a sophisticated aura around him. Much different than say Sasuke for example.

“Sakura Haruno…... aside from Lee talking about you relentlessly. You’re one of the top four students in this year’s academy. So as a ace student myself, why wouldn’t I know you?”

You weren’t sure if Neji was praising you or low-key insulting you by pointing out Lee’s affection for you. Still you kept a smile and remember to be polite as you let go of his hand. Neji turns his attention to the sky for a moment before back to you.

You didn’t argue this. You were talented but mainly due to your hard work and extensive studying. Sasuke was the amalgamation of the rest of you in addition to his innate talents. There was no other way. You then notice that Neji was looking at you rather deeply.

“But then there’s you. A former civilian joining the academy and rising to the top. The wild card of the bunch. A complete oddity. Is it because your diligence? I can see why Lee would take such interest in you if that’s the case. Or, could it be you’re one of those types of people. The type that appear from out of nowhere once in a generation. But is also labeled as a genius. Such as Orochimaru, Minato Namikaze and Kakashi Hatake for example.”

“I lectured Lee about his obsession with you. But now here I am also starting to get interested. At least whether or not which of the two you fall on. So will you do me the honor and fight me?”

What was with this pressure. Those simple words were enough to get you tensed up imminently. You try to keep your cool but Lee suddenly appears in front of you as he stares down the calm and collected Neji.

“Neji, hold your tongue! She’s a really good friend of mine and the woman I acknowledge to be worth pursuing. So I won’t stand idly by-“Before Lee could finish you cut him off. You wanted to hear exactly what Neji was getting at.

“Why not? If she’s as good as you make her out to be then a friendly spar would be no problem. Unless you want to take her before me Tenten.”

“Nah I’m good. While I’m also curious, it’d be rude of me to take the surprise from you. “

“How about it Sakura Haruno? It’s also fine if you decline or want some time to prepare. Sooner or later our paths will cross and battle will be unavoidable. It’s inevitable. You’re just deciding the date.” A bold statement from Neji as you continue to feel the overwhelming presence from him.

Actually it can. If we bury an explosive tag and set a trigger like a string we could fuck with the ground beneath him or intentionally mess to make it irregular in a way we can trap him or fuck with his footing we could get an edge. The Byakugan is not all knowing and Neji is still a genin so he is going to have plenty of flaws.
