(Gonna go with the votes from last time.)

You've never encountered a single problem that you couldn't solve with the help of your team and the Omnitrix. Everything will turn out fine, as long as the physical and mental changes are minimal. At least you hope they will be...

Notch plugs in the coordinates and jumps to hyper space. The gentle and rhythmic humming of the ship's engine soothes you as sink back into your seat. You sit between Olivia and Eunice as they catch up with one another. You uncharacteristically sit in silence, pondering the true nature of your species.

[Eunice]: Everything okay?

Your silence didn't go unnoticed, it seems.

[Olivia]: Yeah, you've been super quiet since we came back from the lab. Is it something about Wendy, or your...other issue?

>"No. Well, that too. Just another problem we're gonna have to deal with later."
>"Turns out that I'm half-human, half-unknown alien species."
>"I'm starting to think that I know more about you guys and the Omnitrix than I know about myself."
>"It's nothing. Tell me more about where we're going."

[Wade]: Turns out that I'm half human, half-unknown alien species.

[Olivia]: To be completely honest, that doesn't really surprise me. You've been pretty weird for as long as I've known you. Especially your tastes in food.

[Eunice]: I agree. But that's what I like about you.

You're a bit surprised by their lackluster reaction. Are you really that weird?

[Wade]: I'm starting to feel like I know more about you guys and the Omnitrix than I know about myself.

[Trixy]: At the moment, your biology is nearly identical to that of a normal human's. I shall notify you should any changes take place.

[Olivia]: Yeah, don't sweat it. Whatever kind of weirdo alien you turn out to be, we'll deal with it together.

Olivia places a reassuring hand on your shoulder, and Eunice looks like she's nervously entertaining the thought of doing the same. You really are blessed with great friends.

[Wade]: Yeah, you're right.

You lean back and let your troubles melt away as you take a short rest before you arrive at your destination.

---------------------

Trixy wakes you up with a gentle alarm, and both of the girls stare at your mask when they notice you stirring in your seat.

[Eunice]: We've arrived.

You look outside of the window, catching a glimpse of an artificial orbital ring of massive proportions. And in the middle of it, is a spherical space station, pulsating with orange energy and teeming with life.

[Olivia]: That's a "Rest Stop"?

[Eunice]: Of sorts. It is a Rest Stop for Bounty Hunters and Smugglers.

[Wade]: Wait, we're in The Fringes?!

[Eunice]: Yes, isn't it exciting?! I've always wanted to see it with my own eyes! This will be a fine opportunity to gather valuable data on the alien species that frequent this sector.

Eunice's eyes are practically glowing with excitement. Actually...they might actually be glowing for real. You sometimes forget that she's technically a synthetic being.

Notch proceeds through customs fairly quickly, only having to submit to a scan of the ship's cargo bay. He lands the ship shortly afterward, and you have to remind him to activate all of the shuttle's security countermeasures before you leave. Can't have anyone stealing your ship. Again...

Eunice switches back to her professional mode and activates the scanner she brought for the mission.

[Eunice]: The signal is close. Like, really close.

[Olivia]: But we just got here. Who'd be dumb enough to hang around the loading dock when they're carrying something that expensive?

Eunice points the device to the right and smiles as it beeps furiously.

[Eunice]: Apparently they are. They're covered in radiation from the component. They've definitely had it recently.

She points to two aliens with grey skin. One is rather well built and as wide as a truck, while the other looks like he desperately need s sandwich. They seem like they're bickering about something, as they walk away from their ship. Looks like you got here just in time!

How do you wanna approach this? If you cause too much trouble, the station's security will be all over you in a matter of minutes.

>Tail them for a little while. They might lead you to the component.

[Olivia]: Should we play it safe and tail them from behind?

[Wade]: Nah, I've got this.

[Eunice]: Wade?

You walk over to the two hillbilly aliens and firmly plant yourself in front of them. Ollie and Eunice follow closely behind you.

[Octagon]: 'Scuse me, bug. I do believe you's is directly obstructing our path. Kindly remove yourself from our direction of travel, before we have to do it for you's.

The skinny one speaks up first, and he's surprisingly well spoken, despite his heavy southern accent.

[Rhomboid]: Yeah! You tell him, Octagon!

The bigger one speaks up afterward, but is noticeably less well spoken. The one called Octagon seems annoyed by the other's interjection.

[Octagon]: Boid, please. The adults is talking.

>"You guys have, or had, something we want. Specifically an expensive piece of tech. Give it up and we won't have any problems."

You make a mental note to tweak your voice synthesizer, and Trixy does so without a vocal confirmation.

[Wade]: We’re just looking for some lucky bastard to take all these Taydens off of our hands.

Eunice is visibly shaken by your change in tone, while Olivia seems to be getting excited. You can always count on her to play along with your last minute plans.

[Wade]: It’s such a heavy burden you see, and we were hoping that you had something valuable to trade in return.

[Olivia]: And something tells us you’ve got something VERY valuable.

Octagon rubs his chin and narrows his eyes at you as he considers your offer.

[Rhomboid]: How much is we talkin?

[Octagon]: Quiet, Boid!

[Rhomboid]: Ulp!

Rhomboid shrinks back upon being chastised by Octagon.

[Octagon]: I’m afraid me and my brother is bound by a rather specific contract, of the strict nature. And any breach of said contract will incur, quote on quote, “severe penalties”. That being said, any offer you’ve got for me and my brother would have to amount to a whole lot before we sacrifice our pride and credibility in this here criminal underworld.

[Rhomboid]: What pride?

Rhomboid’s snarky remark earns him a scowl and a swift backhand from Octagon.

He’s so eloquent! Sometimes…

[Trixy]: Might I remind you that you have exactly 4,000 Taydens in your account after ordering the necessary parts for Kevin’s vehicle. This by no means a small amount, but I suspect it is not nearly enough to outbid their contractor. Might I suggest borrowing Taydens from Eunice for the time being?

Your A.I. has a decent point, but will your pride allow you to ask for so much money from your good friend Eunice?

>Ask Eunice to make a wire transfer of Taydens to these two crooks.

[Wade]: You see, I understand where you’re coming from. However, you’re forgetting that the criminal market is also a competitive market. Supply and demand and all that. And I treat the people that supply my demands quite well.

Eunice seems to have gotten lost during the conversation. She’s not sure where you’re going with this. And to be honest, you aren't too sure yourself. But that's never stopped you before!

[Rhomboid]: Uhhhh, what’s that mean?

[Octagon]: Well Boid, sounds to me like the bug wants to pay us in favors.

You’re glad that Octagon is able to keep up with you better than his brother, or else you’d probably die of old age.

[Rhomboid]: What kind of favors?

[Wade]: Let’s just say I have access to a weapon capable of leveling entire planets, along with exclusive Intel about Plumber operations and hidden bases.

[Rhomboid]: Ooooh! We sure do like blowing stuff up good! Don’t we Octagon?

A wide grin spreads across Rhomboid’s face and he begins to jump up and down in his excitement.

[Octagon]: Quiet! I’m thinking....

Their eyes widen considerably as they carefully consider your offer. Olivia looks a bit nervous, but a brief nod from you reassures her. After all, you’re not exactly lying about any of this. You’ve got the Chimerian Hammer locked up somewhere so no one can ever use it again. If used to its full potential, it’s measured to be able to destroy small planets. And you’ve got some pretty juicy Plumber intel, due to you being a high ranking Deputized Agent.

[Octagon]: Alright. If you can make good on your promises, then I don’t see why we couldn’t just...overlook our binding contract for the time being.

Octagon snaps his fingers and sends his brother to fetch a black box from his ship’s cargo hold. That must be the component. At least you didn’t lose any money in this deal.

You reach for the device and-

[Psyphon]: What do you think you are doing?!

You all turn to see some sort of scrawny, bipedal shark alien wearing a black robe. And by the looks of those goons behind him, he must be the boss around here. Gotta act fast!

>Snatch the device from their hands and run back to the ship!
>Transform into an alien.(Which one?)

[Wade]: This is the guy you're afraid of? Don't you think you can do better? Let me hire you instead.

Psyphon's eyes go wide as you talk trash about him right in front of his face. Octagon and Rhomboid actually seem to be mulling over your statement.

[Psyphon]: What?!

[Rhomboid]: Well…he is kinda scrawny lookin. Bet his Ma didn't feed him enough.

[Octagon]: Yeah. You's got a point there, Boid. He don't look as intimidating as he did before.

[Psyphon]: I'm standing right here!

[Olivia]: And he's so whiny too. I bet he's the type that can't do anything without his goons.

Eunice snaps her fingers as a devious smile spreads across her face.

[Eunice]: I bet he can't blow stuff up real good like our boss can.

What's that got to do with anything?

[Octagon]: Y'know what girlie, I'm willing to bet the same.

[Rhomboid]: We don't work for nobody that don't know how to blow stuff up real good. Or at least havin' a genuine appreciation for it.

Octagon and Rhomboid are sounding much more agreeable now. How'd Eunice know to say that?

She catches you looking at her and shoots you a cute little wink before you draw your attention back to Psyphon. He looks absolutely livid! You wouldn't be surprised if he were to start foaming at the mouth or something.

[Psyphon]: Fine! You want to quit?! Then I'll fire you! Literally!!

Psyphon brandishes a wrist cannon and orders his lackeys to train their guns on you. Looks like it's Show Time!

You quickly open up your Quicklist and select Big Chill before slamming your hand onto the Omnitrix core. A Bright purple flash engulfs the air around you as you undergo a brief transformation.

You quickly create a wall of ice, separating you and your friends from a barrage of heated plasma. You then phase through the ground and float over to where you sense their heat signatures.

[Psyphon]: Where did he go?!

They search the area frantically as the crowd cowers before superior firepower of Psyphon's gang. You're guessing that the station's security will be here shortly, and they're very likely to attack both parties indiscriminately.

[Wade]: Right here…

You emerge from the ground and spread your wings as you use them to send two of Psyphon's goons flying. The others try to fire at you, but your allies manage to draw their attention away from you for a brief moment. He attempts to grab you, but you effortlessly go incorporeal and allow his arms to pass through your body. Upon contact with your chilling aura, his arms freeze solid, causing him to recoil in pain and shock.

[Wade]: Well that was stupid of you.

Psyphon angrily fires beams of energy from his eyes, but you manage to swiftly evade the attack while remaining incorporeal. You then flap your wings to raise yourself into the air, before swooping back down and crashing atop Psyphon’s body. A bit of spittle flies from his mouth as your entire weight slams him down on him, and he goes unconscious shortly afterward. You turn to see how your friends are doing, and it appears that they’ve just about cleaned up the goons on their end.

The grey aliens from before are unloading a relentless hail of fire upon their fleeing enemies, and Olivia is providing cover with her Mana barriers. Eunice grabs a disk from her bag and inserts it into her chest, causing her body to glow briefly, before a purple suit of armor grows over her synthetic flesh. The armor takes the shape of a Tetramand, as she’s grown far more muscular and possesses two extra arms. That's a pretty neat invention!

Eunice takes a large leap forward, landing right in front of the fleeing aliens, grabbing them with her multiple arms and slamming them into one another.

[Eunice]: Well that was a bit messy.

A plasma bolt flies past your face, alerting you that security is hot on your tail. Time to book it!

You and the others board Notch’s shuttle with the Vreedles and the black box in tow. You all manage to get out of the station safely, with a couple of burn marks from the plasma shots peppering the side of the vehicle of course. Looks like you’ll be paying for repairs...again.

[Olivia]: That was kinda easier than I thought it would be.

Olivia wipes a bit of sweat from her brow whilst smiling cheerfully.

[Wade]: Not a bad day’s work for curing an alien race of a degenerative disease, if I do say so myself.

Eunice tugs at your arm and pulls you aside for a brief moment.

[Eunice]: Uh, Wade? What do you intend to do with the Vreedles? They are still wanted criminals with an extensive record of heinous acts against the Plumbers and Galactic Council.

What do you plan to do with the Vreedles?

[Wade]: I'm gonna make some arrangements to put them in a nice rehabilitation center.

Eunice looks incredibly skeptical, despite your optimism.

[Eunice]: Perhaps that has a small chance of affecting normal criminals, but these are Vreedles. They don't have a moral compass. They just do whatever they think is fun.

[Wade]: Well, what if we make being a good guy...seem fun?

[Eunice]: I'll support your decisions, but I strongly advise you to keep an eye on them.

You know Eunice means well, but you aren't particularly fond of discriminating against individuals based on their species.

[Wade]: Okay, I promise. I'll keep a close eye on them.

[Eunice]: Thank you.

She places a hand on your shoulder and breathes a sigh of relief.

[Wade]: In the meantime, tell me what was up with that armor from before?

Eunice becomes extremely giddy as she jumps up and down and flashes a familiar goof.

[Eunice]: So you know how I have the ability to take DNA samples and use the abilities of the creature whom I sampled?!

[Wade]: Uhh...yeah?

[Eunice]: I was having trouble retaining multiple samples at once, so Azmuth gathered a bunch of samples from the Codon Stream and placed them within tiny disks for me to insert into my core. That way, I can be a versatile combatant.

[Wade]: Well that's cool. Now you're more like the Omnitrix.

That simple statement makes her feel proud for some odd reason. Eunice is actually one of Azmuth's inventions, a device known as the Unitrix. Kinda like a prototype Omnitrix. It can sample DNA and use the appearance and abilities of the sampled creature. Ollie touched her first, so she used her as a genetic base. It was a weird adjustment, but you're starting to get used to being around her. Kinda…

[Wade]: Now let's see what's in the box!

Everyone gathers around you as you open the box, revealing...some weird disk thing?

[Olivia]: Well that's kinda disappointing. You sure this thing can cure the Spectraphage?

[Eunice]: Hypothetically. Let's just be glad we got to this thing before Albedo or anyone else could have. Now, let's get this back to Azmuth.

You close the box and come back to your senses. You're back in the future. What was all of that? You don't remember any of that happening. Did you actually ever manage to cure the Spectraphage?

You open up your Omnitrix and search through your roster.

>Ghostfreak has been cured and unlocked! He is now safe to use.

Huh. Guess you actually managed to do it…

[Wendy]: You okay, bro? You clocked out for a pretty long time there.

Wendy and Rex seem very concerned for your wellbeing. And you can't blame them. You have no idea what's happening to you. But you know one thing for certain now. These aren't dreams. History is changing, and you just know that Aku is behind it somehow.

[Wade]: Are you guys sure that you don’t remember anything weird about your past?

Rex and Wendy exchange confused glances before seriously considering your question.

[Rex]: I mean, aren’t our lives already weird? I’m infested with nanites and you guys are clones of some super important dead guy.

[Wendy]: Hate to say it, but Rex is right. Weird is normal for us by now. This time travel shit is pretty bonkers though.

They don’t seem to be getting the point of your question. So that means that you’re the only one who remembers both timelines. But why though? Does it have something to do with your mixed DNA?

And what’s that all about?! Has it always been like that, even in your own timeline? You’ll have to try to remember more about yourself later.

Might as well drop it and let the others focus on driving. In the meantime, you’ll just ask Trixy a bit about your altered past.

[Wade]: Hey Trixy, what ever happened to the Vreedle Brothers? Did they ever reform?

[Trixy]: I’m afraid not. They were making great progress at the correctional facility that you sent them to, and their therapists were reporting positive changes in their behavior.

[Wade]: So, what happened?

[Trixy]: They blew up the facility.

[Wendy]: Ha! I remember that shit! Probably the highlight of the year. They really did a number on that place. Couldn't have done it better myself.

Wendy smiles warmly as she reminisces of the carnage and destruction of that day.

[Rex]: Why’d they blow up a rehab center?

[Wendy]: Because they’re Vreedles. And whatever Vreedles feel like doing, they do.

You had hoped that the Vreedles would turn their lives around, but they might just be beyond saving. You’re sure that you’ll meet them again. Or...you’ve already met them again? Wendy was right. This time travel shit is bonkers. Let's see just how much these guys remember.

[Wade]: Did I ever tell you guys about when I helped cured the Spectraphage?

[Rex]: The What-a-phage?

[Wendy]: Alien autism for alien ghosts. Still can’t believe you pulled it off. I just thought they'd stay crazy forever.

[Rex]: Oh! Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Rex’s sarcasm doesn’t phase Wendy in the slightest as she slowly turns the wheel with a nonchalant expression on her face. Her reaction tells you that she only remembers the timeline in which you cured the Ectonurites of their disease.

[Wade]: Do you remember anything else surrounding those events? Anything significant?

[Wendy]: Nope. Wasn’t there, remember? Just heard about it over the Extranet chatter.

[Rex]: You’ve been asking an awful lot of questions about our memories. You sure you’re okay, dude?

[Wade]: Yeah, I’m fine.

Can’t let them think that you’re cracking under pressure. Only you can remember why things are changing, and you’ve got to find out why. As soon as you turn these clowns in of course.

Once you arrive at the Bazaar, you are stopped by two giant goat-like sentinels. One is red, and the other is blue. They both hold thick spears in their hands, standing guard by a giant wooden gate. It would seem that the Bazaar is surrounded and protected by a massive stone wall that reaches at least 65 meters in height.

The giants closely inspect your vehicle, along with the one behind yours. The red giant's eyes narrow and glow bright orange upon inspecting the vehicle that Rex hijacked. It appears that they’ve noticed the clowns stashed in your car.

[Redguard]: They are not allowed to pass. They are banned from entering the Bazaar.

It's deep voice reverberates through your armor, making you feel slightly uncomfortable.

>”We just wanna turn them in to the local authorities. Would that be you guys?”
>”I am simply doing Aku’s bidding. And I am sure that you will be generously rewarded for assisting me in my endeavor.”
>”Oh we’re not with them. In fact, you can take them if you want. We just wanted to reach the bazaar before sundown.”
>”We needed to bring them somewhere so they wouldn’t die of heatstroke or get eaten by some giant worm.”
>”What can you tell me about this place?”

[Wade]: Oh, we're not with them. In fact, you can take them if you want. We just wanted to reach the bazaar before sundown.

The blue goat-man strokes his long beard and shoots a piercing glare in your direction.

[Bloogard]: Then what is your association with them?

[Wade]: We brought them along to turn them in to the local authorities. That wouldn't happen to be you, would it?

The goat guardians look to one another and groan deeply before returning their attention to you.

[Redgard]: I suppose you could say that. Leave them here, and proceed into the Bazaar.

[Wade]: Thanks. What can you tell me about this place?

[Bloogard]: The Bazaar has everything you need, everything you want and so much more. I'm sure that whatever it is that you're looking for, you will find it here.

[Rex]: Sounds like a paid advertisement.

After they're done with their brief explanation, they open the thick wooden gates and allow you to enter into the Bazaar.

It's much more beautiful than you would've imagined, but still kinda filthy in it's own way. Torn silk robes and drapes adorn the shacks and shops that make up the bazaar. They vary greatly in height and width, somewhat emulating a miniature bustling city within the desert area. Green water flows through the rivers and waterways, and it gives off a sour smell that isn't as unappealing as you thought it'd be. You notice that there aren't many humans at all, which seems a bit strange. Did Aku kill or enslave them all?

[Wendy]: So, where do you wanna go? We've got some time to kill before we leave.

[Rex]: I vote that we get something to eat. My stomach is eating itself…

[Wade]: Let’s get something to eat first. I’m really eager to taste some alien future food!

[Wendy]: Hope the food here is better than Undertown’s. Pretty sure I picked up a couple of parasites down there.

[Rex]: Do you guys think they have Chinese food somewhere around here? I’d kill for some pork fried rice right now.

[Wendy]: What, you’ve never had alien food before?

Rex stays silent and averts his gaze from the two of you. It really is his first time!

[Wade]: You don’t have to be embarrassed, Rex. I only started eating alien food a year ago.

[Rex]: And...were you nervous about it?

[Wade]: Hm? Not at all. But this isn’t about me. This is about you. I recommend diving right in without thinking too much about it.

You hook your arm over Rex’s shoulder and drag him along with you in your search for a decent looking restaurant. After about 10 minutes, you manage to stumble upon an establishment with a heavenly aroma emanating from it. You’re surprised that you can even smell it through the oxygen filters in your mask. That must mean it’s gonna taste amazing!

You enter the restaurant and take a good long look at its interior, drawing the attention of a few aliens along the way. The dim lighting and neon signs plastered along the walls are a nice touch, but the sticky wooden floors are making you a bit concerned about the sanitary regulations of this bazaar.

The beady eyes of the shop’s customers continue to follow you as you proceed to a booth in the corner of the room. Once you’re all seated, the clinking of dinner plates and silverware starts to fill the room once more. As does the chattering of the once silent aliens from before.

[Rex]: Yeesh. You’d think they’d never seen a human being before.

[Wendy]: They probably haven’t. There’s a good chance that humans are the minority in the future.

[Wade]: Well that’s a bit depressing. You’d think we’d flourish on our own native planet.

[Rex]: Maybe they got wiped out when Aku took over…

You notice Rex’s fists tightening and his expression hardening to one of smoldering anger. You can’t blame him for being angry. You’re pretty pissed about this whole situation too, but you also have a chance to prevent this all from happening. You haven’t failed yet.

[Waitress]: Are ya’ll ready to order?

An alien with the appearance of a fleshy, bald anteater creeps up on you and your friends while you were lost in thought. You’ve barely had any time to even look at the menu.

[Wade]: Oh! Yeah, sure. I’ll get the...Kobold Custard.

Rex visibly cringes upon hearing you speak those words.

[Wendy]: Oh, no way! Lemme have the Braised Arburian Stew.

Wendy is uncharacteristically excited for once.

[Wade]: Ooh! You’ve gotta let me try a bite of yours.

[Wendy]: No problem. Still can’t believe they actually sell this stuff legally in the future.

[Rex]: Uhhh...

Rex appears to be too nervous and confused to choose an entree. Maybe you should help him.

[Wade]: He’ll have Liam’s House Special.

[Waitress]: Comin’ right up!

The waitress walks away while humming a cheerful tune, and Rex’s eyes dart from side to side nervously.

[Rex]: What was that?! What did you just order?!

[Wendy]: Chill out, spaz. It’s just chicken soup.

[Rex]: Yeah, but what’s in it?

[Wendy]: Chicken!

This argument goes on for what feels like half an hour, so you cycle through your alien roster to check for new transformations. Fortunately, your waitress returns before you lose your sanity. She lays your Kobold Custard down on the table, and the sweet aroma from your foreign desert rises to your nostrils and causes your empty stomach to growl. The hollowed out skull of some sort of reptilian creature peaks out of the bowl and hangs off the side, with some sort of spice sprinkled across his baked flesh. Wendy lightly taps her Arburian shelled stew with a spoon, causing the shell to open up reflexively, releasing a thick puff of smoke and heat. Rex on the other hand, seems to be inspecting his food very closely.

[Wendy]: You gonna touch your food or just stare at it all day?

[Rex]: Uh, I’ll let you guys go first.

[Wade]: Suit yourself.

You dig your spoon into the thick yellow custard and bring it up to your mouth, only to be hit with an instant blast of flavor! The sweetness of the custard is almost overwhelming, but the spiciness of the Kobold’s dried skin complements the dish and gives the surface a crunchy texture. It isn’t too bad, but you think the custard is a bit too rich for your tastes. Needs more salted Kobold skin. Maybe you’ll make it yourself when you get home.

You lean over to Wendy and try a bit of her dish, but she shoots you a death glare in her glutinous consumption. She snaps out of her trance and kindly offers her plate to you without a hint of malice. You’ll have to remember not to try to steal any food from your sister in the future.

The Arburian beef is fairly tender, bursting and brimming with flavor and broth. It’s much more tender than any meat you’ve tasted before, as it basically melts in your mouth upon chewing. You actually might be able to drink it through a straw.
You look up to see that Wendy is actually using a straw! How innovative! Aaaaaand Rex still hasn’t touched his food.

[Wade]: C’mon dude. Just take one bite. You’ll love it.

Rex gulps down hard and slowly moves his spoon to his bowl, his hand shaking all the while. What a drama queen…

He takes forever to take a single bite, but his eyes pop open once he starts chewing.

[Rex]: Hmm. Not bad! A bit salty, but not bad.

[Wendy]: Now don’t you feel stupid for wasting our time like that?

You spend the rest of your time appreciating your meals and chatting freely amongst yourselves. It's all pretty peaceful...that is until the check comes. It would seem that they use something called "credits" in the future.

[Rex]: Uh, guys? How're we paying for this?

[Wade]: Uh, do you accept Taydens?

[Waitress]: Oh, are ya new to Earth? Lemme explain how things work around here.

Actually, you've lived on this planet your entire life...

[Waitress]: We accept Taydens, but they’re pretty much outlawed almost everywhere else in Aku’s domain. He implemented his own currency to purposefully crash the economy after the Great Galactic War. And you wanna know the worst part? Credits are worth waaaaay less than Taydens.

You find the introduction of Credits to be pretty pointless, but you're glad that the waitress was so understanding and helpful. She's definitely getting a tip.

[Wade]: Thanks for the info.

[Waitress]: You're definitely gonna wanna stock up on credits before you leave. Trust me, it'll make ya life much easier. G'bye now!

Once everything's paid up, Wendy and Rex decide to gather the supplies for the group while you scrounge up some credits. You give them a handful of Taydens and pick a nice, crowded place in the middle of the bazaar. Alright, it's Show Time!

You fiddle with the Omnitrix, quickly cycling through your quicklist and selecting Big Chill before slamming down onto its core. After a bright purple flash, your body is transformed into that of Big Chill!

You managed to find a stall that was selling flavored syrup, but they had no means of creating ice in this sweltering heat. Thankfully, you have Big Chill to make an unlimited supply. Once you procure a clean supply of water, you chill the surface to create a powdery snow, before scooping it into a cone and pouring the flavored syrup inside. You weren’t getting much business at first, but Snow Cones began to sell like hot cakes after a few minutes! In the ten minutes that you’ve been transformed, you managed to make 7500 credits! And you have no idea whether that’s a large quantity or not!

Will a dull beep and a yellow flash, your Omnitrix times out and forces you back into your human form. That’s not a bad amount for just 10 minutes. Maybe you’ll try again once it recharges.

You look up to notice that the only one remaining at your stall is a tall, pale man wearing a red oriental robe. His nails are rather long and sharp, and his long black hair is stringy and tangled. But, his most notable feature is his white Oni mask.

[Wade]: Sorry dude, we’re closed for the next 10 minutes. I’m all out of syrup.

[Oni]: Oh, don’t worry. What I’m looking for is much sweeter than confectioneries.

[Wade]: Ugh! For the last time, I only sell ice related products. If it’s anything other than shaved ice, snow cones, ice cubes or a solid block of ice, then I can’t help you. I’ll get a sign when I come back.

[Oni]: I am not interested in your wares, ice peddler! What I seek is-

The man in the Oni mask pulls out two sharp blades from underneath his robe. How was he hiding those?!

[Oni]: Retribution!

He slashes your table in half with ease, causing you to jump away instinctively. On any normal day, you’d wipe the floor with this loser. But your Omnitrix is still recharging. You’ve gotta either buy yourself some time, or try to win using other means. And you should probably avoid getting hit by those blades. They look super sharp and dangerous.

>”I thought the goat guys wouldn’t let clowns inside the bazaar. So how'd you get in?"
>”So Aku’s getting a tad bit impatient, I see. Why don’t you go back and tell him to wait for me to come kick his butt on my own time.”

Fucking RIP! Writing...

>100!!!

You should retreat towards your friends. It’s really not a good idea to fight this guy by yourself.

[Wade]: You’re still this pale after walking through a desert? I guess some people just can’t tan.

The Oni swipes at you with surprising speed, but you sidestep it with ease. The next is a wide swing, but you see it coming from a mile away. He’s telegraphing his attacks way too early.

[Oni]: Dodge all you want, boy. But you won’t be able to escape my wrath!

[Wade]: Do I know you?

His attacks grow more complex as he mixes in a few flips and kicks with his fighting style. None of them land, though. He’s pretty damn acrobatic.

[Oni]: Not personally, but you have been the sole reason for my torment over the past few decades. I was beaten and tortured. My body mutilated, and my spirit crushed. All so that I could become a monster capable of killing you!

He grows increasingly savage, and his swings become wild and unpredictable. You watch carefully as you backstep away from his wide swings and sidestep away from his overhead swings.

[Trixy]: Attack patterns memorized. Recommending countermeasures. Distress Signal sent. Allied signals located and tracked.

Trixy’s a busybody as usual. You’re really glad that you have her to manage all of the minute details. Her efforts have helped you to remain untouched during this fight. The Oni is getting visibly frustrated with you.

[Oni]: Stop jumping around so much!

[Wade]: But you told me to dodge all I want.

[Oni]: Grah! I didn’t mean it literally!

He’s getting sloppier. Just gotta get him a little bit closer…

[Trixy]: Rex is in position, Wade.

There’s your cue. You duck underneath the Oni’s swing with a slide and deliver a joint kick to the side of his knee. You hear an audible crack as it bends to an awkward angle.

[Oni]: Aah!
As he shrieks in pain, you stay crouched to avoid a quick moving projectile that flies directly over your head. The Oni flies back as he’s hit directly by Rex’s Slam Cannon. He’s gotten much better at aiming with that thing.

You rise to your feet and watch as the Oni flies through several walls. Wendy and Rex approach you from behind and pat you on the back.

[Wade]: Thanks for the save.

[Rex]: No prob. Who was that guy?

>”Let’s go find out.” Inspect the body.

[Wade]: Not sure, but he sure seemed to know who I was. He even knew about the Omnitrix, and waited for it to time out before attacking.

You find this part especially strange. Aku doesn’t seem like the tech savvy sort. And he shouldn’t have even known about the Omnitrix in the first place, let alone having any knowledge of its functions. In fact, you’re pretty sure he doesn’t even know who you are at all.

[Wendy]: How’d you manage to piss him off? Is he one of Aku’s goons?

[Wade]: Let’s go find out.

You run over to where you saw the Oni land, with Wendy and Rex following close behind. It would seem that your brief battle has caused quite the stir in the bazaar, as the crowd around you has been thrown into a panic. They're not so much scared, as they are curious about the situation at hand. Wendy seems to be a bit uncomfortable to have so many eyes on her at once. You never pegged her for the nervous type. Must be because she’s used to operating in the shadows.

You climb through the wreckage made by Rex’s Slam Cannon, only to find the Oni passed out underneath a pile of scrap and rubble. Wendy suddenly projects some sort of yellow laser from her cybernetic eye and runs it along the man’s body.

[Wendy]: We’ve got some good news and some bad news. The good news is that his ribs are broken and several of his internal organs are mush.

[Rex]: How is that good news?

Wendy ignores Rex’s worried expression and continues with her diagnostic.

[Wendy]: The bad news is that he’s regenerating. Like real fast. He’ll probably be back up and good as new in a little bit.

[Rex]: Oh. That is pretty bad. How do we take him down if he keeps getting back up?

The both of you look to Wendy, who seems like she wants to make a suggestion. You already know what she’s thinking.

[Wade]: Non-Lethally, of course.

[Wendy]: Yeah, I know okay!

You scan the unconscious man with a purple laser from your Omnitrix.

[Trixy]: Hmm. Curious...

[Wade]: What'd you find, Trixy?

[Trixy]: Subject appears to be human. Or at least he was originally. His genetic code has been tampered with, increasing his muscle density and altering his brain chemistry to allow for him to have enhanced senses and reflexes. The mask seems to be fused to his skull, and it’s made of some sort of durable plastic polymer. I’m unsure as to what is causing him to heal so quickly, though.

All that surgery and he still lost so quickly. You kinda feel bad for the guy.

[Rex]: I wonder who did this to him.

[Wendy]: Doesn't matter. We've gotta keep moving and put some distance between us and anyone else that’s after our asses.

Wendy picks up the Oni’s blades and hands them to you. After examining them with your built in scanners, you find them to unnaturally sturdy. Even with the enhanced strength that your suit grants you, it'd be pretty difficult to break these swords. You fasten them to your waist and make a mental note to eat them with Knuckle Duster when the Omnitrix is done recharging.

[Wade]: She's right. We should get going. Right after we gift wrap this guy for the guards.

You and Rex bind the unconscious man with some nearby rope and you make sure to use a few chains for good measure. You aren’t actually sure how strong he really is. Which means there’s a good chance that he might break free once he wakes up. You know this, and so does Wendy. Even now, you can feel her icy glare on the back of your head. She’s not angry, but she refuses to see the point in futile efforts such as this.

Once you’re done, you bring the Oni to the local guards and explain the situation to them before departing for your caravan. You really hope these guards will heed your warnings. If not, then this masked maniac will be on the loose and on your trail once more.

With your newly acquired supplies in hand, and a pocket full of credits, you set out onto the road once more. Rex fiddles with the map and struggles to read the tiny text scribbled onto the parchment.

[Rex]: So we’ve got two options here. We can go to the “Valley of the Foot”, or we can go through Anaris’s territory.

Wendy casually snacks on a protein bar while she performs maintenance on her arm.

[Wendy]: Which way is faster?

[Rex]: If we cut through this forest a few miles ahead, and get through this Anaris guy’s territory, we should be able to catch the train with time to spare. But I’m pretty sure that British green lady specifically warned us not to do that.

Wendy closes her arm and flexes it a bit before turning to properly address Rex.

[Wendy]: Oh, don’t be such a bitch. We can handle whatever they throw at us. Besides, do you really wanna go somewhere called “The Valley of the Foot”? What if there's an actual giant foot there?!

Wendy jabs Rex in the shoulder as she playfully teases him.

[Rex]: At least a giant foot won't shoot me in the face.

Wendy adopts a cheeky smile and leans back to lay down on the caravan's cold wooden floor.

[Wendy]: You never know, man. The future is pretty wild.

Rex looks seriously worried for a moment there. Your sister is having way too much fun teasing the rookie. If you didn't know any better, you'd the two of them were starting to get along.

Now, where should you go from here?

[Rex]: Hey, he’s got us too. Aku’s minions don’t stand a chance!

You’re pretty confident about your chances of defeating Aku’s minions, but you really hope Aku doesn’t decide to take you out himself. You can’t fight him until you find that sword-

[Wade]: Ah!

You feel a sharp throbbing pain in your head, forcing you to the floor as you clutch your helmet. Your vision is growing hazy and distorted. What’s going on?

Unconscious security guards and broken glass litter the floor as you quietly track whoever’s responsible for all of this. Suddenly, Trixy notifies you that an organic life-form is directly ahead of you, and you break into a full sprint in the direction of this intruder. Can’t afford to be stealthy. Can’t afford to lose them and whatever it is that they’re trying to snag.

You track the signal to an exhibit placed further in the back of the museum. The room is aglow with purple light, but it’s not a feature from the display. That purple glow is coming from an old enemy of yours. One that happens to be breaking into the exhibit at this very moment. Mother…

How’d she break out of jail, anyways? She was in Super Max at Plumber HQ. Must’ve used magic to escape or something. She’s always been a crafty and devious old hag.

You don’t like to admit it, but she’s come the closest to defeating you out of all of your rogues. That, and she knows your secret identity. You can’t afford to go easy on her, but that doesn’t mean you can’t tease her a bit. The lady has like, no sense of humor, and you can’t resist riling her up and watching her get upset.

Mother closely examines some sort of green stone mask, before replacing it with her own. Oh man, you’re really glad that she was turned around when she took off her mask. One look at her horribly burned face would've made you lose your lunch for sure.

Well, now’s as good a time as any to make your appearance. Or, you could wait and watch her for a while longer.

>Sneak up behind her. "Boo!"
>”You gonna pay for that? Because I don’t think I can spot you this time.”
>”Man, I really wish I had a bucket of water right now. I heard witches hate those.”
>”Excuse me ma’am, but you need a Visitor’s pass to be in here. Might I recommend the Senior Discount?”
>Transform into an alien and attack her from behind.(Which one?)
>Observe her for a little while longer.
>Write-in.

After this vote, I'll be making a new thread. If the thread gets archived before a new vote comes in, then I'll just continue the vote in the new thread. Expect the next thread to be thrown up sometime in the evening around 6 or 7pm.
