Recap no Jutsu

>On the next few days before your next Mission, you spent your time training with several of yours friends. Kenjutsu training with Sasuke, Sensory and Survival training with Team Eight, Water Release with Fu, and Medical Ninjutsu with the girls.
>On your own you improved your secret techniques but with your friends you also picked up additional tips and info to help improve your current assortment of skills.
> During the day of the reconnaissance mission you and your team found yourself ambushed by Team Kajika. A mysterious group of former Kirigakure Hunter-nins lead by Kajika.
>After a brief exchange, Inner Sakura now disguised as yourself was captured by Kajika. Leaving Naruto to rush off while Sasuke followed begrudgingly. You however hid yourself to summon the Ninnekos to assist you in finding Kakashi and keeping an eye on your team as they confront Iwana and Yamame.
>With Iwana and Yamame defeated, the three of you set off to confront Kajika in his lair hidden in the mountainous caves. Much to your shock Kajika sees through the deception and begins his assault.
>Requiring help from the Ninnekos, you faced your trauma and entered the caverns to assist Naruto and Sasuke in combating Kajika.
>Despite a long and drawn out battle, through teamwork the three of you manage to overcome the wall that is Kajika. During interrogation you found yourself meeting with the Wondrous One directly.
>After a few exchange of words, Kakashi soon came to your rescue as the cave started to collapse while the possessed Kajika disappeared without a trace.
>Watching Sasuke still torn by his conversation with Kajika you decide to privately meet up with your teammate. As the two of you talk, you learned about Sasuke’s doubts to his own growth and indecision towards his goals.
>Reassuring him with a motivating speech you manage to get through to Sasuke in order to open up to others and learn from them. Curing him of his doubts, you find yourself glowing closer to Sasuke and vice versa.
>Eventually you made your way to Lord Hiruzen to tell him what you learn. In this exchange you learned the backstory and relationship of Danzo Shimura, Orochimaru and the vague telling of the Masked man who attacked Konoha twelve years ago. Although it was merely speculation, Lord Hiruzen decided to resume personally training you to better protect your team.
>Taking this news to heart you begin to spend the next several days preparing for the Chunin Exams. In addition to developing new applications to existing moves, you improve the team dynamic and overall skills of your fellow teammates.

> Upon arriving at your destination, you briefly met a road block established by Kotetsu Hagane and Izumo Kamizuki. You quickly left it to Team Guy as they overcame the deception without revealing their full strength.
>Making your way through the auditorium you ran into a sudden visit from Amika “Ami” Shimura and her spider summon. Briefly you exchanged words as you resisted falling to her temptations. As the conversation escalated, you felt yourself losing face to Ami’s manipulative words.
>Leaving the room in frustration you left your team and friends to continue conversing with Ami. Isolating yourself to vent the growing rage, you lashed out against your surroundings until the sudden appearance of Ino Yamanaka
>After having a heart to heart talk with Ino, you come to terms with your feelings including the ones relating to Ino. During your discussion you learned the burdens and hardships Ino silently endured. To make up for your insensitivity you self-injured yourself before making up with your best friend.
> Arriving back at the building you share a couple of touching words with your mentor Kakashi before leaving Aota and Fu to Kakashi. Stepping inside the room, you and the rest of team seven reunites with the remaining members of the Rookie Nine.
> Conversing with your fellow graduates you were soon confront by a mysterious glasses wearing red head named Karin Uzumaki. Through her friendly demeanor you learned all about Kusagakure along other valuable information in preparation for the exam.
>As you continue your conversation, suddenly you were interrupted by an attack from Team Dosu. Quickly you defend your new friend only to suffer under the effects of Dosu’s sound. Still, you manage regain your composure while your friends quickly come to your aid.
>Before things escalate further Idate Morino and the remaining proctors arrived to put a stop to it. Upon arrival Idate quickly starts the First Round of the Chunin Exams…..a written exam.

> Waking up in a groggy mood, you find yourself passing the first exam thanks to Naruto Uzumaki’s stubborn refusal to give into Idate’s intimidation. Before you could sigh in relief you were suddenly bombarded with the eccentric entrance of Anko Mitarashi.
>Following Anko’s lead you soon found yourself at the forest of death aka Training ground number 44. During the debriefing you soon encountered the strange Amegakure kunoichi Shoire after Naruto invoked Anko’s wraith.
> Eventually you and your team enter the Forest of Death. Just within the first few hours you encountered Team Oboro. Quickly you defeat the Amegakure ninjas and acquired the heaven scroll through controlling the battleground.
> Taking the time to rest before making your way to the Central Tower, you were suddenly ambushed by Team Shiore. Separated from Naruto, you and Sasuke directly took on Shiore. Overwhelmed by the difference, you briefly broke down before recalling Yugao’s words.
>Now meeting Shiore head on with newfound resolve, you and Naruto reunite to work together in fighting Shiore. Despite your best efforts, Shiore counters all of your moves and forced you and Naruto to go at it 100% with your transformations to put on the pressure. Meanwhile Sasuke was consumed with fear and was unable to assist.
> As the battle continues, Naruto argues with Sasuke to wake him up from the fear as you and him continued attacking Shiore. A futile effort as Shiore’s grip on Sasuke continued to worsen Sasuke’s fear. Resulting in Naruto protecting Sasuke at the cost of finding himself stricken by Shiore’s Five Element Seal. Despite receiving the attack, Naruto refused to back down although he was at the end of his ropes.

>With the Yin Seal: Anima in check you briefly awaken to see your team having come to your rescue. While Naruto was injured and unconscious, Sasuke had awaken his three tomoe Sharingan to protect his precious ones. Pushing Shiore into a corner Sasuke tears down Shiore’s disguise. Before Sasuke could continue, a sinister presence exerts from Shiore as Sasuke was pinned.
>Pushing Shinsei Mahachisu to the limits you prepared to attack Shiore with everything you have. When suddenly Guren appeared from out of nowhere to encase you in crystals. Rendered helpless by your stalker, you watched in horror at Sasuke being marked by Shiore.
>Now revealing himself as Orochimaru, he shares his ambition to acquiring Sasuke as well as revealed your unwilling assistance to helping with his research. In addition, to your horror you learned that Orochimaru was in fact the Wondrous One. Leaving with Guren, you were left unable to find Orochimaru as you broke down and scream.
>Spending remainder of sunset healing your team, you left watch to Saigyō while you slumbered. Upon the early morning Saigyō eventually encounters Team Dosu. Through the use of traps, Saigyō prepared to make her counter. That is until someone unknowingly throwing a wrench to Saigyō’s plans.
>Coming to your rescue was the Beautiful Green Beast Rock Lee. Despite his efforts, the teamwork of Team Dosu was enough to counteract his moves and bring him to his knees.
>Seeing things escalating further Saigyō decides to abandoned Lee to save team Seven instead. Leaving Team Ten to come out from the shadows thinking that you were in danger.
>Much like with Lee, Team Dosu begin to reveal a sample of their true capabilities as an Anti-Uchiha fighting force.
>Sensing the immense danger at hand you suddenly awakened from your deep slumber. Now replenished and back at 100% you combat Team Dosu. Using Shinsei Mahachisu, you were able to outmaneuver and counter Zaku’s Typhoon Release and Kin’s Three Tomoe Sharingan. As you served as the diversion, you put your trust in your friends to observe and come up a plan for victory.

>As you prepare to fight Dosu you were interrupted by the rude awakening of a Cursed Seal enhanced Sasuke Uchiha. Rushing over to save Sasuke, Zaku takes advantage to deliver a devastating attack from behind. Enraging Sasuke with the act he begins to brutally defeat Kin and Zaku. Dosu was left to watch in horror at the growth of Sasuke’s power.
>Left without any options you risked it by using Yin Seal: Anima. To your misfortune, you underwent a similar transformation as you became a true Queen of Beast. Under Anima’s influence you begin to engage in a long battle with Sasuke.
>Neji and Tenten soon arrived in time to see the battle between teammates take off. Giving Team Dosu the chance to escape after a brief exchange with Team Guy and Team Ten.
>Having the advantage you begin subconsciously adapting to your newfound powers to combat Sasuke’s three Tomoe Sharingan. Eventually your humanity comes to the surface to overpower the primal influence of Anima. To everyone’s horror you found yourself stricken with a near fatal blow by Sasuke.
>With the last of your strength you reach out to Sasuke’s humanity before passing out. Seeing the true implications of his actions, Sasuke awakens to his tragedy and despair as a forbidden power briefly manifests. Simultaneously, Naruto awakens to the Kyuubi’s influence upon seeing the horrible acts of brutality.
>Breaking through the Five Elemental seal through sheer rage, Naruto barely keeps himself from going beyond a single tail Kyuubi cloak. Still, driven with rage and anguish he lashed out against his fellow graduates before focusing his rage on Sasuke. Still broken by the experience, Sasuke merely embraced his end. Until Ino stepped up to smack Sasuke out of his despair and grief.
>After receiving a tearful lecture from Ino, Sasuke once again reawakened his three tomoe Sharingan. With Neji’s assistance and Naruto struggling against his sorrow, the two geniuses manage to suppressed the Kyuubi’s influence. Through everyone’s assistance, Naruto was able to come back to the surface.

>Despite everyone’s sorrow and grief, Ino soon points out your survival. Due to the effects of Anima you managed to fully heal in the nick of time but was still in critical condition. Through your friends you made your way to the central Tower to receive medical attention alongside your team.
>Several days later you awaken to Kakashi’s watchful eye. The two of you begin to exchange information about the entire ordeal. Through his words did you understand the true gravity of the situation. Thus, you start to break down and share a moment with Kakashi as you start to rely on your connections rather than tackle the growing ordeals on your own.
>Upon arriving to your team, the three of you begin to have a heartfelt moment. Originally filled with grief and self-blame, the three of you ultimately overcome the overwhelming feeling of self-loathing and regret much to Kakashi’s relief and happiness.
>Once let out of the hospital did the three of you open your scrolls and have an enlightening talk with Iruka.
>Meeting up with the remainder of the Konoha 12 the three of you quickly apologize for everything in the forest of death. Having no secrets between your friends you explain everything that Lord Hiruzen and Kakashi didn’t tell within reason. The news while alarming didn’t detriment the bonds share between classmates as you rekindle your friendships.
>Now united, you and the rest of the Konoha 12 stepped into the main arena to meet with the other remaining applicates. Under Hayate Gekko’s supervision starts the preliminaries for the Third Round of the Chunin exams.
>Right off the bat the first match between Shikamaru and Karin begins. However, Karin makes a shocking move by forfeiting as Shikamaru was made the victor.
>The Next Fight between Zaku and Oboro soon begins as each of you take your respective seats in the stands.

On the other side Zaku merely lets out another yawn. The Kusagakure Trio looked worse for wear in terms of attire but physically they were right as rain. As Zaku prepares to leave Kin steps up by lifting herself from the wall she was leaning. Dosu on the other hand continued to rest his arms underneath his poncho as he continues to hunch his back.

“Zaku.” Kin glanced.

“Yeah Kin.” Zaku asked with another yawn.

“Try to not make a big show of it. We’re supposed to be holding back after all.” Kin lowers her dull black eyes. Even while blind she was rather good at intimidating others just by gazing at them.

“Trust me. It’s me after all.” Zaku smiles before waving to his team as he disappears.

“That’s why I’m worried….” Kin sighed.

“Don’t sweat it Kin. Zaku may be a lot of things but he’s no fool. He just can’t help himself when it comes to battle. After all, the wind favors him even if he’s at his weakest. “A mysterious woman spoke from the bleachers.

She held pale white skin and sharp brown eyes alongside a tied raven colored ponytail. She was wearing a darker green flask jacket as shading aside it strongly resembles the same jacket the Konohagakure higher ups wore. Not surprising considering there wasn't much alterations between the villages.

“Hmm...” Kin was still unsure but left it at that.

Meanwhile you were slowly walking towards the other side of the bleachers. Everyone was already partnering up with their respective person of choice to watch the second match. Sasuke was with Shino, Neji and Karin. Tenten hanged out with Hinata and Ino. Shikamaru and Choji were with Naruto. The Jounins were usually next to each other or by themselves. So you decide to be the maverick and be friendly to the Sand Siblings.

“Oh it’s you. Are you sure you want to be with us rather than your friends?” Kankuro asked, leaving his arms against his neck as he got comfortable.

“Well aren’t you my friend?” You looked at Kankuro with a rather confused puppy eyed look.

“I-huh-uhm….” Kankuro stumbled with a blush. He didn’t have a real respond to the curve ball you thrown at him. Temari laughed at the reaction while Gaara closes his eyes.

“Walked right into that one Kankuro. Well I don’t mind if you want to watch from here but Gaara might be another story.” As Temari offered, all eyes quickly turned to the red haired boy. He slowly opens his left eye to look at you before closing it.

“I don’t care. Just don’t cause any trouble.” Gaara remarked, going back to meditating.

“There you have it.”

“Right I won’t be a problem.” You smiled, finding a good spot to look as the match begins.

Hayate quickly gave the signal for both fighters to begin. Zaku merely let out another yawn as he was slouching. Oboro saw this as Zaku being too sleep deprived to fight seriously. As a result, he begins to summon hundreds of clones thanks to the Haze clone Jutsu. He was rather good at disguising the clones so most of the party assumed it was the multi-shadow clone Jutsu. Well the more easily tricked people anyway.

Despite being surrounded from all sides, Zaku didn’t bat a single eye. He was too busy rubbing his neck to try and iron out the joints. Oboro wasn’t fazed by this as he starts sinking to the ground. The clones gave him the cover needed to hide in plain sight. With his clone army Oboro continued to observe Zaku while waiting for the chance to attack.

Even as the clones moved in to attack, Zaku merely continue playing the drunken fool. With another yawn he stumbles from Oboro’s clones. The way he did it convinced everyone that Zaku was just being lucky. However, you and the Konoha Genin faced him know that Zaku was far more capable than this. So to be sure of this, you used the Imitation Beast Ninja Arts to invoke the cat like senses to start following his movements. Watching each step, you start to realize there was traces of air.

A mixture of well-timed movement and subtle manipulation of the air currents. That was the secret to how Zaku was casually avoiding the well-timed strikes while still looking ever the fool. Oboro was slowly getting irritated despite playing cool. He had to remind himself that Zaku appeared one foot from falling to the ground and passing out. The advantage was still on his side.

“So this Zaku guy. Rumor is that you had an unfortunate experience with him…mind telling me what he’s like?”Temari calmly asked but you saw her narrowing her eyes. Almost as if she knows something is off.

You decided to explain everything to Temari about Zaku and his team so far. After all, they were your friends. In fact, you were very thorough in explaining about the strengths and weaknesses you encounter during the battle. Kankuro was making mental notes while being grateful knowing someone like you. It was well worth it for him to have taught you the basics to Chakra Threads in your semi-frequent encounters with the Sand Siblings.

Temari was keeping a sound ear despite paying extensive attention to the fight. Upon hearing the phrase about Typhoon Release Temari starts to grit her teeth. In the short time you knew her you never once seen Temari get so mad. If looks could kill, then you imagined Zaku would be brutalized several times over by Temari’s glare. Upon seeing the concern look on your face did Temari pulled back and calmed herself.

“…I knew it.” Temari muttered, gripping the gate as she watches the battle intently.

“Are you sure you’re okay. I don’t like those guys but even I couldn’t make a face like that.” You asked, trying to offer a helping hand to your senior. Temari smiles at you after gently removing your hand from her shoulder.

“…Sorry. I let myself lose my cool. I was just thinking….” Temari explained, looking somberly at the ground.

“…. Was it about Shijima?” Kankuro asked, showing great concern for his older sister.

Temari doesn’t answer but Kankuro could already gather that it was about her. Shijima and Shizuka, two of her closest friend and former teammates. The fact that Temari ended up losing her cool was a strong sign that it had to have been about them. That and about her “Secret” inherence. Those were the only two things that made the once reserved and level headed Temari lose her composure.

“Typhoon Style doesn’t strain the body. Or rather it shouldn’t. When using advance variations of the Five Basic Elements, the caster isn’t endangered by their power. Their bodies are naturally attuned to the power due to their heightened sensitivity and refinement. What an advance variation user has to deal with is how it affects the surroundings and controlling the elemental output.” As Temari explains, her green eyes gave off a sad look as she laments.

“Temari…” You kept yourself from asking about Temari just how is she related to this. But you start to think the worst case scenario as you start sympathizing with the Sand Genin.

“…. You're looking at me with those eyes. Even if you don’t say it, I can tell you want to know the connection between me and Typhoon Style right?”

“Temari!” Kankuro cried, showing a mixture of wanting to protect his sister and keep the “Secret” from leaking out.

“It’s fine Kankuro. Tell her. Sakura risked her life for the information. It's only fair.” Temari half-heartedly smiled, practically tired due to the stress.

“Alright. So from what I am understanding Typhoon Style doesn’t negatively impact the user. In that case, I’m confused as to why you wield such a giant fan. Surely with that power such a thing should be unnecessary.”

“You are right. Normally with her talents she can manage just fine using a regular fan or her own body to create powerful air pressures capable of influencing the atmosphere. At the same time, it’s a double edge sword. Because she inherent such powerful winds. She has trouble controlling the power output of her wind. One wrong move and she can end up invoking a dust storm or some other wind related disaster. That’s why…” Kankuro turns from Temari as he didn’t want to

“I’m sorry. If it makes you feel better, you’re not the only one who has to deal with having a power that they can’t control.” You try to reassure Temari, both from personal experience and seeing it in several of your friends.

“Your compassion is appreciated but it’s unnecessary. I don’t need it. It’s just the curse of being born too strong. Not that I’ll be like this forever. Or rather…I won’t let myself continue being like this. That said…if this Zaku really does have the real Typhoon Style. Then he shouldn’t be using it so carelessly. Especially if he doesn’t have the body to fully withstand it.” Temari went back to giving a cold look to Zaku as he was still toying with Orobo.

After hearing those words, you and Kankuro returned to observing the fight with Zaku. It seems that Oboro eventually got tired of waiting for Zaku to fall down. So instead he quickly starts to attack from the ground once he saw an opening. An opening purposely made by Zaku that Oboro realized too late. As his Kunai jabs towards Zaku’s neck, it would shatter upon making contact with a rather dense veil of invisible air currents.

“Wind Style: Shield of the Wind Count.” Zaku muttered, his eyes now darting towards Oboro.

“A barrier made out of dense air. A rather fine skill not just any regular Genin can do. I been waiting for the right moment for you to get impatient and strike me down. To be honest…if I didn’t want to cause trouble to the proctors. I’d would’ve just force you out from the ground with one of my more…destructive Wind Style techniques. Speaking of…” As Zaku says this, he grips his left hand tightly against Orobo’s arm. Leaving his right hand as dense air currents begin to cycle around his right arm.

“W-Wait! H-Hold on I surrender! I SURRENDER!! “Desperately Orobo tried to plead but the air current was far too loud. Another purposely crafted act of cunning…and cruelty from Zaku as he smiles.

“Wind Style: Sword of the Wind Count” With a stroke from his right hand, Zaku dealt a powerful slash against Oboro’s torso. Cutting through the white jumpsuit of his, Orobo’s entire face was visible as his face was twisted into fear and despair. Blood starts spilling from his body. Although the cut was non-fatal, it was still something that required medical attention to treat.

“Consider yourself lucky that killing isn’t allowed and that I was holding back. Oh…...I guess technically you would be unlucky given how painful that was. Probably makes you wished that you didn’t have me as your opponent.” With a condescending smile, Zaku lets go of Oboro as he drops to the ground. Choosing to lift his arm up to point to the sky in silent declaration that he’s standing on a level above those who he viewed as inferior.

Dosu and Kin could only nod in approval while the mysterious woman simply smiled deeply at Zaku’s display of power. To the outsiders it was nothing alarming for a Jounin Squad Leader to be proud of their subordinate. If only they knew who was behind the pretty face and exactly why she was smiling. Hayate made a quick look to make sure that Oboro was still alive although unconscious as he was bleeding out.

All eyes went back to focusing on the monitor as the next match was to be called. Two names quickly formed on the big black monitor. Hayate glances at the transmission before announcing the results. Kin was meanwhile lecturing Zaku who merely yawned despite apologizing. Dosu paid no mind since he won regardless as did his Jounin squad leader. Sasuke could only look at the act with irritation as Naruto joined in unison.

“Alright the third round of the Chunin Exams is Misumi Tsurugi vs. Kankurō” As Hayate announced, Misumi starts to walk towards the arena.

More alterations. This time it's developing the Sand Sibling family, Temari in particular. Kankuro will get his moment to reveal his skeleton in the closet later down the road but I been taking some stuff from the Novels that's actually worth invoking earlier than they're were shown. Kinda depressing that they make animation of most of the novels but don't do Gaara's. Thanks boruto. Anyway, Kankuro and Temari are actually much older than Gaara and they were put on his team naturally to try and work with their living weapon.

But the story never really address Kankuro and Temari's experiences outside of Gaara before being put on their team. There's a lot of potential there. They have their lives and Kishimoto just threw them together cause the old three man team requirement.

Also Temari basically does Typhoon release level stuff by the end of the series and gets labeled as the strongest Wind user. Stronger than Naruto who has a literal wind nuke so making that more believable here.

The filler is full of great stuff. I hope you will bring in more “villainous” organizations that will rival the Akatsuki in power and often come into conflict with each other. Also a good theme to bring in is the concept of “responsibility” you know like the whole “great power comes with great responsibility” the Spider-Man had going for it, with the way Naruto and Sasuke almost killed the people they cared about would be a good starting point for how really learning about their place in the world and how they affect it.

Just finished catching up. Something I noticed in the narrative. Even during and after the worst fights, Team Seven never feels powerful. It happens that there is explaining about how amazing or prodigious they are on the sidelines. But the actually fights and results feel like the narrative completely disregards this.

I don't feel like they're any better than in canon.

Look at it this way, in every story event Team Seven has been just as effective as in canon.

If it keeps going at full speed with no stop then it just becomes an edgefic with the characters and participates becoming desensitized from it. Been trying to recreate the thematic style of Part I while putting them to their natural conclusion while still keeping it from getting too ballistic. We recently went up against a standard genin team. It was a shitstomp. Also the waterfall village fight seems to suggest we are making progress and there is fact we are holding back our best jutsu because of how dangerous they are.

The waterfall village fight had us almost die again and the resultant power up is what won it for us. We literally failed upward there. I think the best fights so far were from the snow village. That felt like the most challenging without feeling completely outclassed.

Plus having all these powerfully jutsus is worthless as we can't use them without heavy drawbacks and by the time we can everyone else has some new counter for it.

Another problem I have is how the chakra system has no real underlying logic while nen has a very clear underlying logic. Example nen has a 6 very well established categories of abilities and has several techniques shared between everyone all of which fit to in a very clear way meanwhile chakra has five elements that seem to make some sense, some basic techs shared everyone (but don’t have any clear logic in how they fit together), and kekkei genkai which fuck everything up.

Seeing Temari with a glooming face you decide to cheer up by having her hang out with some of your other friends. Grabbing Temari by the hand you made your way to Sasuke. You weren’t taking no for an answer much to Temari’s dismay. Gaara doesn’t really bat an eye at the scene. You weren’t sure if that was his way of letting you do what you want or he just didn’t care. As you dragged Temari with you, you also waved over to Tenten to come join you.

Mildly confused by this Tenten decides to go towards your location. Leaving Neji to having to share a conversation with Lee and Kiba. Despite being stoic, Neji was quite respectable and capable of good social skills. Compared to Sasuke he was far more approachable although he still kept his guard at all time. You knew precisely why he does so. Shino meanwhile moved to conversing with Naruto or rather Naruto dragged Shikamaru and Choji towards him as Hinata was heading towards Shino. This was like some sort of game of musical chairs with participates.

Still flustered by your actions, Temari ultimately relinquished fighting back with a defeated sigh. Quickly you made your way to Sasuke. Upon first glance you saw Sasuke eyeing Zaku with the attentive focus of a hawk. Common sense could tell you that since Team Dosu was formed as an Anti-Uchiha squad that Sasuke would commit to memory how they fight. Heck you were doing that too just so you can dismantle it completely next time.

Arriving just before the start of the next round, the four of you briefly exchange pleasantries before turning back to the fight. On Kankuro’s end he just stood there quietly observing Misumi. Going as far as to remove the device on his back after deeming it unnecessary for this fight. Misumi didn’t wave from this and went to make the first move. Kankuro countered by flicking a couple of large clod of stones.

Insulted by this, Misumi simply deflects the stones, disbursing them upon impact. Truthfully they weren’t stones…but sand clods. Forced to close his for a brief moment, Kankuro already begins his act of deception. By the time Misumi opens his eyes he would see Kankuro charging at him to throw a punch. Dodging with just a hair’s graze, Misumi glares as blood spill from his mask.

Meanwhile you continue to watch the battle from above. During the sand clog trick, you noticed series of chakra threads silently latching themselves on to Misumi’s body. This was similar to the trick that Kankuro performed on Naruto.

“Say Temari…You told me that there’s three primary brigades in Sunagakure. The Iron Fan, The Cloth and-“

“The Puppet Brigade. Being a bookworm really has its advantages.” Temari cuts you off, already gathering what you really wanted to know.

“Like me he used to be on another team. His team was comprised of Ameno and Kōji under Ms Maki’s command. To be honest you remind me of Ameno. That’s probably why Kankuro has a hard time dealing with you. She was also a compassionate and polite girl with the same no nonsense demeanor. “

“Ameno huh? I wish I got to meet her.” You somberly looked down at the ground. Temari responds to this by slapping your back, causing you to almost jump up like a scardey cat.

“Maybe when you go to Sunagakure you can do just that.” Temari remarks, smiling at your pouting expressing as you silently fumed.

“Anyway the Puppet Brigade as the name suggests focuses battling with mechanical devices called puppets. Normally these devices are made out of wood though as Sunagakure advance the more our traditions follow suit to keep up with the changes. Take steel for instance. It’s one of the hardest substance to control but many puppeteers are migrating the complexity and density of steel to better weaponized these old arts for the modern times.”

“See what you had done Sakura. Tenten is in her weapon obsession mode again.” Sasuke muttered behind your back as you rubbed your forehead.

As you returned to watching the fight you saw that Misumi had managed to catch Kankuro off guard. By utilizing his Soft Physique Jutsu he was able to ensnare Kankuro with the use of his elastic body. Kankuro found himself in a real bind as he was only able to move his hands. Misumi was thorough in stopping Kankuro’s joints while keeping him from escaping.

Assured of his victory Misumi tries to pressure Kankuro with the threat of snapping his neck. A threat that Kankuro didn’t take too kindly. Instead Kankuro chose to be the comedian by egging Misumi. Angered by this, Misumi tries to squeeze Kankuro tightly knowing full well that if actually broke his neck then Misumi will risk expulsion at the potential death of an applicant. He was merely trying to scare him to give up which wasn't working in the slightest.

However, Misumi found it rather troubling getting a tight enough squeeze on Kankuro’s body. He wasn’t sure how but it seems like Kankuro was far more…durable than he let on. Irritated by this, Misumi starts to summon strong currents of water from his body. Kankuro looked as his body was now half submerged in water as his hand and head were the only ones untouched.

“Hmph! No matter. I’ll just resort to suffocating you. No matter how tough you are you can’t protect yourself from this.” Misumi threatened, trying once again to get Kankuro to admit defeat.

“Are you sure about that?” Kankuro calmly smiled.

“Huh?”

With a twitch of Kankuro’s fingers, Misumi found himself unable to move. The water formed from his body quickly disburse and splashes against the ground. Misumi was forced to look at Kankuro who started to twitch his fingers. Now against his will Misumi quickly removed himself from Kankuro. It seems that in trying to capture Kankuro with close range combat, it was Kankuro who caught Misumi since the very beginning.

“Got to say your Jutsus is really something else. But you should never try to out control a puppeteer.” Kankuro smiles, being kind enough to reveal the chakra threads around him. Misumi was left speechless as he soon realized that Kankuro had control of the entire fight since that sand ball.

“A word of advice should you continue the path of a shinobi. Don’t make threats that you are incapable of fulfilling. Especially…when you invite the enemy to inflict the supposed fate on to you. For instance, imagine how flexible you can be if I crush your bones or suffocate you?” To empathize this Kankuro starts making Misumi twist and turn as the latter was force to use more chakra to prevent himself from further damage. By doing this, it only made it easier for Kankuro to control him.

“…You’re not really going to kill me r-right. I-If you do that you’ll be disqualified.” Misumi pleaded, trying to reason against Kankuro’s cold demeanor.

Slowly smiling at this Kankuro moves his right hand as Misumi’s body started to get into a fighting stance. “Relax idiot. Like I’d kill you. More likely I’ll just make you pass out through asphyxiation. But to quote a terrifying man…. That’d be too easy and too boring. So how about I’ll have you defeat yourself instead.”

“W-Wha” Without warning or mercy Kankuro forced Misumi’s body to start pummeling itself as hard as possible. A feat that was very easy to do thanks to Misumi’s highly flexible body. It didn’t take too long but you were still a little off put by the act. Once Misumi was rendered unconscious Kankuro finally undid his puppetry.

"See that Shrimp. If you tried to slug me that day I would've just made you knock yourself out." Kankuro teased Naruto.

"Says you! I'm a lot tougher then that nerd and quit calling me shrimp." Naruto was driven to the point of anger as Hinata had to held back Naruto. He was fuming hard as he thrash his arms helplessly in the air. You could only smiled as you begin to understand the man named Kankuro.

“The winner is Kankuro.” As Hayate says this, Kankuro merely went down to pick up his hidden puppet and walk back up the stairs. “That said I should’ve did that before he used that water Jutsu. Now I’m all soaked. Ugh! I should’ve hit him harder.” Kankuro fumed, causing Temari to laugh at her younger brother’s little tantrum.

All eyes went back on to the screen board as the next fight was to be announced. In mere seconds it seems that the next fight would be…. Shino Aburame vs Mubi.

A small taste of the bitter baggage of Kankuro, especially with his brother Gaara. Another thing that Part I really lampshaded alongside things like Temari actually having second thoughts/not wanting to break the peace between Konoha and Sunagakure. Even if the wind damiyo's actions among other...complications are forcing their hand.


I want to make this Kankuro more consistent to his part II self as one of his biggest defining character is his relationship to his brother. The struggle between acknowledging that he loves hsi brother or giving into the fear that Shukaku caused by almost killing him. There's more but I don't want to be rambling too much.

To be sure of his next action, you fully activate the Imitation Beast Arts to fully awaken your sensing capabilities. Upon activation you were met with quite the unnerving sight. To what you can tell what Shiro was summoning made you feel positively sick. Instinctively you covered your mouth as you fight the urge to puke. Shino was summoning the overgrown leeches that were waiting in the shadows. The subtle use of Earth Style rearranging the terrain allowed all of this to be possible without alerting anyone. Well anyone except those who were keen at reading the subtle alteration. Mubi was not one of those people.

Only once they had their fill did all of the insects disappeared, the remaining Kikaichū returned to living inside Shino’s body.

“I did warned you what would happen if you try the same tactics as your teammate.” Shino remarked, pushing his glasses before walking away. Mubi was knocked out, showing a rather fearful look on his face as foam formed around the mouth.

“Winner of the Fourth Round Shino Aburame.” Hayate doesn’t bat an eye unlike many of the participates who were disturbed by Shino’s control of the battlefield through his insects. At this point there was mere silence as the monitor starts to reveal the next match.

Upon hearing the call both fighters made their way to the arena. In preparation based on seeing how Dosu fought with Lee Choji plugged his ears with Earth Release. That way he could avoid any deceptive sound techniques from Kin. Shockingly she wasn’t really bothered by this as the match begin. If anything she went for the absent of sound by performing the Silent Killing fighting style. Again you got Haku flashbacks as you observed Kin’s method of attacks. Despite being blind she was very precise and accurate with throwing her senbons. Tenten could only make a whistle in acknowledgement.

Keeping his distance, Choji starts off by utilizing the Partial Multi-Size Jutsu.. By regulating it between his arms and legs he could switch between moving at high speeds to avoid attacks or to close the distance for a direct attack. Even with the surprise factor Choji couldn’t land a hit on Kin. Her timed dodges and jumps allowed her to just barely scrape the range limit of his attacks. Opening him up for several of Kin’s Senbon’s strikes. Had he unplugged his ears he would be dealing with the Shadow Senbon tactic that would’ve made dodging that much harder.

Choji on the other hand didn’t bother dodging as the Senbon attacks bounced off from his body. Instead he continued to charge at Kin with brute force. Much to Kin’s annoyance Dosu was indeed right about Choji’s hide. Even without chakra reinforcing she wound it rather troublesome to pierce through his densely thick skin. On the other hand Choji was having a hard time hiding her with her graceful and precise movements. Each step she took there was several different afterimages following her movements. It only add to making it harder for Choji as the fight continued. The constant fluidity of motions and changing speeds were also a big part to the deception.

To counteract this Choji quickly invoke the Multi-Sized Jutsu. Expanding rapidly into an extremely round giant, Choji prepared the necessary steps for the Human Bullet Jutsu. Kin took the time to take aim and throw a single Senbon high into the air. With a single hand sign she called for the Summoning Jutsu. From one Senbon formed thousands as she redirects the swarm into Choji now that he was stationary. A useless effort as thanks to his Multi-Sized Jutsu his hide was even stronger. Thus annoying Kin further at her Senbon Shower was rendered useless. Or so it seems.

Now with his limbs and head inside the giant torso, chakra begins to shoot out from them as he begins to take movement. Kin anticipates this as she uses the chakra to guide her Senbon upwards to serve as a spike filled to detriment Choji’s path. Once again Choji demonstrates the sheer raw power of his clan’s techniques as the Human Boulder Jutsu broke through those spiked defenses. Earlier during the Begnning of the fight you made your attention to Sasuke who was watching closely to Kin. However, he was oddly enough not using his Sharingan to help record the upcoming spectacle.

“Sasuke. I hate to ask this considering the possible feelings you must be having over all of this. But do you think you can use your Sharingan to copy Kin’s movements. Uchiha or not, she’s a dangerous element so if we have to fight her again then it’d be beneficial for us to keep it to memory.” You asked while still being mindful of Sasuke’s feeling.


“To be honest I feel rather…abhorred about the entire thing. While I’m not exactly obsessed with the purity of my clan since I’m the last surviving member in Konoha. Do you think she’s using some form of Ultra Hearing to listen to the rhythm and sounds of Choji’s muscles and joints to anticipate and predict his moves?” You questioned, using that big brain of yours to recall the act perfectly.

“If it was only just that then her bells would also be getting in the way of it. Either her hearing is good enough to isolate a person’s sounds or she developed another means to act when using her bells to avoid misinformation like Seismic Sense. “Sasuke remarked.

“Touch Sensitivity can be trained through methods like Chi Sau to achieve such levels of reading micro-movements without the usage of chakra. So that’s not far off for a possibility. Who knows, she may be able to use Echolocation through her skin rather than her ears. ” Temari replied.

“Don’t you think we might be overthinking this?” Tenten asked, scratching the side of her nose as she feels like she’s back in the library with the amount of science between you, Temari and Sasuke.

You who popped out your cat senses at the start of the match was also having a hard time really pinpointing the method of Kin’s hyper awareness. But you knew it had to be natural since there was no use of chakra. Or she was really good at deceiving potential onlookers of her chakra usage. You couldn’t be sure either way.

“It’s Air Current Sensing. I can read the air currents thanks to my inherence but rigorous training in Wind Style can achieve a very near identical effect. So if she’s capable of combining Seismic Sensing and Air Current Sensing then her natural sensory potential is absurd. And that’s just chalking in her sense of touch or hearing. ” Temari remarked.

“So she’s good at perceiving with hyper awareness. That’s not exactly going to do her any good if she can’t break through Choji’s defenses. Not to mention his Human Boulder attack will give him the speed needed to finally start hitting Kin.” You tried to raise everyone’s morals and believe in Choji’s skills since you occasionally spared with him in Taijutsu.

“Maybe…but I get the feeling the corner Choji is trying to push her in…is really a trap laid for himself.” There was a small amount of dread in Sasuke’s voice as he watches Choji finally pinning Kin and going for one big wind up to finish the Kusagakure Kunoichi off.

Kin meanwhile turns towards your location. In just a brief moment she points you directly out from the crowd. Staring at you directly moments before Choji comes rolling towards her. She made a rather eerie smile that sent shiver down your spine. The abundant amount of chakra flowing through her body and the control to make it work the muscles got you speechless as…this was very familiar. And that is what gave you the feeling of imminent danger.

Try the fact he wants a more capable body to handle it. No matter how good he is at recreating the sharingan, Only a true uchiha or Otsustuki can bring out it's full potential. (And trust me he tried.) Otherwise at best you end up with Shin who can go up to Mangekyou but doesn't seam to inherent the madness that is stuff like Susanaoo. Her strain isn't as bad as Kakashi's since she's better conditioned, but it's still more a burden than Sasuke's which is zero once properly trained. Heck even now he's still got the edge over Kin in the strain board.

Mangekyou is the highest, but she can't tap into haxes like Susanoo, Izanami and Izanagi cause not Real Uchiha. But she hasn't unlocked Mangekyou. Also I'm like 80% sure only a real Uchiha can unlock Eternal Mangekyou anyway.

The Genetic game is literal 50% Bloodline Power and 50% Being Compatable to fully utilize it without any real downsides or negatives unlike outsiders who just harvest the bloodline to implant into themselves. Honestly, standard Mangekyo is good enough if she only uses it sparingly. The look that Kin gave you unnerved you. Blind or not Kin was really good at getting under people’s skin from facial expressions alone, almost like a certain Chunin who was watching elsewhere. Was Team Dosu watching your fight in the shadows or merely given the direct footage/memories of the event by a certain benefactor before the preliminaries. Racking that brain of yours you begin to recall a single phrase said by Kin during your encounter. I can see your movements and replicate them perfectly even without the Sharingan.

The more you thought about it, the more you should’ve came to realize the dangers that Kin possessed as she has been doing what you and Sasuke are now. If she was altered and trained to better attune to the movements/actions that she can “Copy” then how much information was she collecting. When did she first do it?

Could someone be filling Team Dosu in on your current battles to better prepare them for them for their main objective? Orochimaru was orchestrating everything in the shadows to better test your combat ability and gain more information.

Questions run wild as you think about all the possible times Kin could have gotten enough information to replicate your moves. It then hit you worse than what that Choji was enduring from the smack down.

Playing Possum, when you think of it like that it all started to come together. When you thought you knocked Kin out you didn’t really check to see if she was unconscious. To be fair it was a rather strong blow that would've knocked out most.

Choji unfortunately couldn’t respond as he was shaking up from the ordeal. Durable body or not, there was only so much that he could withstand. Kin was far less “Gentle” in comparison to you when using such monstrous strength. It quickly made you think back to the Legendary Stupid brothers who could achieve those same feats at the cost of their intelligence.

“Didn’t think so…” With a cold sigh, Kin tossed Choji against the wall, making a rather large crater. You were sure that he was still alive, but that was going too far just to win the match. You were furious at Kin as countless Konoha ninjas but the more level headed ones acknowledged the truth to her words.

Kusagakure was an unfortunate victim as they were the main battleground for the Third Ninja War. The people there literally had to adapt to the harsh conditions or die out from countless battles and wanton acts of destruction. Rather than becoming a relic like Uzushiogakure, Kusagakure clawed themselves to the present time using whatever means they could to do so. It was rather sad as child soldiers like Team Dosu were born precisely because of such atrocities among others who were looking to take full advantage of their potential. It didn’t excuse Kin’s actions.

Zaku and Dosu smiled with approval alongside did their mentor. She was very happy at the results that were being demonstrated. She may be a fake compared to Sasuke, but her skills and effort was the real deal. Shikamaru and Ino meanwhile were naturally upset but Asuma was at his angriest at the sight of the brutality. A feeling that was shared with the other Konoha Jounin although of a lesser volume.

You looked closely to Choji as he admirably took his last stand. His body was exerting a lot of chakra in this incomplete state of the Butterfly Mode. His body was worn and the strained put by invoking this form due to strong emotions didn’t make it any better. Honestly you wanted to scream to Choji to stop before he did something that he’d regret. It was already impressive that he could achieve something akin to Shinsei Mahachisu despite his injuries. Now if the technique was complete and he was in full control then he could reach outputs greater than what Shinsei Mahachisu could reach without the usage of Mankai. Still, Choji proved to be a worthy successor to the Akimichi clan with this move.

That said you find yourself forcing yourself to be quiet. No matter how much you wanted to jump in there and put a stop to this, it wasn’t your call. It was Choji’s fight and he should have the right to decide how it ends. You just hope that this would be enough to finish this before his body collapses from the strain of the rapid weight lost in addition. A wish that would go unanswered if Kin would have her way of extending the humiliation further.

Gripping the railways you anchored yourself to the balcony for added insurance. It was taking all of your strength not to go out there and smack Kin. Choji aside Kin was toying with him using your moves and was putting him through the ringer just to prove a point. Almost as if she was enjoying prolonging his suffering rather than calling Hayate to call the match. This infuriated you to no end but you kept to the plan of observing her style and saving it to memory.

“Here I go! “ With a load scream Choji accelerates into high gear towards Kin.

Kin respond to this by not taking any stance. This was rather odd to you so you focused your senses to their limits to pinpoint what Kin was doing. To what you saw gave way to an unfortunate outcome. Choji utilizing the wings to glide through the ground went to deliver a high powered punch towards Kin. Just millimeters from hitting Kin she would disappear from Choji’s sight as he slams his fist against the wall. While you noticed the trick it seem that Choji did not. At first you weren’t sure if it was due to his weakened state or the clever application of an evasion based technique. Either way this opened Choji up to a rather unfair act of deception.

“An attack that slow and straight-lined…will have no effect on me.” Kin muttered, appearing behind Choji thanks to a prepared Body Flicker Jutsu for the last second. As Choji turns he could only briefly see the curved roundhouse kick that sealed the match. Putting in as much strength as she can mustered Kin delivers a devastating blow. Choji was knocked unconscious from the kick as Kin stood in front of the worn out and drained Choji. Although the rapid weight loss weren't in the fatal range, it was still a highly reckless move.

You begin to replay the event perfectly in your head as you recall the last move between Choji and Kin. As Choji was speeding towards Kin, Kin was exerting a field of pure yet invisible chakra. In unison she was moving her hair, causing the ringing of bells. Although Choji had used ear plugs to protect himself, in the thrashing they were removed. Allowing for Kin to finally use her deceptive move in addition to augmented physical conditioning. While she could read Choji’s pattern she simultaneously deceived Choji to make him incapable of seeing her trick. A sound based hypnotic Genjutsu.

Using the chakra as an extension of her heightened senses, Kin timed her next move perfectly based on Choji’s pattern. Combined with her heightened reflexes, this is what ultimately gave her the edge in dodging Choji’s last ditch attack. Of course it had to have been done at the last second in order to truly clinch that dramatic counter. She then converted a lot of chakra into the leg that delivered the kick to maximize the kinetic impact of her blow. Thus defeating Choji in one fell swoop, all without directly activating her Matured Sharingan.

This level of perception and anticipation was like that of the Sharingan as this confirmed her words during your previous confrontation. Even while blinded she had made the necessary steps to replicate the Eye of Insight through her heightened sense of touch and chakra field when sound or air alone wasn’t enough. As for the Eye of Hypnotism you can gather she was using the bells to pull it off through the usage of sound waves and the vibrations it carried. Or at least that’s what you estimated from the demonstration that Kin made. At the very least you and Sasuke were beginning to understand the sensing capabilities of Kin that previously made her untouchable in this fight.

“The Winner of the Fifth Round is Kin Tsuchi.” Hayate said, also directing the medical team to start taking Choji to the hospital for recovery.

Hearing that call you start to rush over towards Choji after jumping from the balcony. You were left to exchange glance with Kin as she made her way towards the stares. Although it was brief you met with Kin’s blind gaze with a fully enraged one as you committed yourself to getting payback for Choji the next time you have the fortune of fighting Kin. After all, she did use your moves to essentially hurt your friend and you definitely didn’t like that one bit.

Calore Control isn't as forgiving as Shinsei Mahachisu despite not being a Kinjutsu. Without proper calorie control, one's abilities are greatly diminished. Here I went with a fluctuating of power as he was exerting his remaining strength trying to keep it together.

That said, hard to label this as "a person won by being more clever/deceptive than just brute strength" since Kin was using sounds and vibration to recreate the core values of the Eye of Insight and Hypnotism through personal experience and her own tinkering to maximize her Sharingan training/proficiency despite her condition . And nobody likes Sharingan hax, real or inspired otherwise.

Slowly she opens them, revealing to you that her three Tomoe Sharingan was active. It was more than just that as her pupils were slit like a snake’s. You can already tell that this was actually Genjutsu since she’s being reserved about showing the real thing to everyone. It was just as Sagiyo said, using techniques like this without proper guidance can leave for disastrous results.

You begin to understand just how thankful you are for this body. Choji’s life wasn’t in danger but his act did do some additional damage. It was ironically lucky that Choji was taken out before he could injure himself further pushing that incomplete butterfly form in his current condition to its limits.

It made you think back to the waterfall village where you first used Shinsei Mahachisu. Thus, furthering your guilt as you begin to think would’ve have been better if your friends never came to your rescue at the forest of death. Sagiyo most likely could’ve handled herself and do what was needed with the least amount of bloodshed. Or so you wanted to believe.

As you start to leave, you felt Choji’s hand tugging against yours. You weren’t sure if Choji was fully awake or not but you could feel the sentiment regardless. There was a lot of regret and frustration at being unable to defend his friends. It almost brought you to tears as you place both your hands against his. Silently you prayed to Choji, keeping up a brave face until he was taken out of the arena. The machine meanwhile finishes revealing the names of the next combatants.

Congratulations, you got your own canon Neji now. A lot more thought put into this compared to the actual canon Kin. Then again, that can be said to everyone who isn't Dosu though I didn't leave Dosu out on the development train.

Also I made the brief mentioning of Amanozako as a call out to the current Kin's character and real self. Or rather, being possessed by the ambition of Orochimaru as by my little joke of Zaku calling Kin a Itako since Orochimaru literally fits a handful of Yokai.

I wouldn't say that they're completely idiotic since Hiruzen is trying to steer away from the experiences that Kakashi underwent through as a Kid while Danzo clearly would've went with trying to beat the Mist and Grass villages in who can make the better Child Soldiers. There needs to be a better balance between the two extremes but right now it isn't possible thanks to the rift between Hiruzen and Danzo.

Mei has her job cut out for her trying to fix the Fourth Mizukage's run.

Suna doesn't have it any better especially given what Orochimaru has been doing between the Wind Damiyo's actions and the Kazekage's "sudden plan for war".

And don't make me get started on Onoki's policies and back handed deals.

Really the only one that is the most reasonable in stability is Kumogakure due to fighting the least amount of wars. But their isolation and strong distrusts of the other villages isn't exactly doing themselves any favors either.

Here Ino was evening the playing field despite the fact she has no reason to. She knew of your skills thanks to the battle with Team Dosu among others. Sure you knew about the mental capabilities of the Yamanaka clan, but how much you knew was another story.

In addition, there were other skills like this that you didn’t know. You just assumed that Ino could merely read minds and deceived people with the illusion like how Kakashi and Sasuke do with their Sharingan. The real question was where did the rock that blind sighted you come from since you didn’t feel any Earth Chakra being used. Normally your senses should’ve alerted you of the high speed attack. In fact, it did despite your distraction as you were subconsciously moving away from its path. And yet the rock still managed to hit you rather hard on the face. Just what was going on.

Don’t get distracted! This isn’t Genjutsu. Stay focus and don’t let her get to you with this perplexing feat. As you started to run you sense more rocks started to come your way. There was no chakra on them so your sensory technique couldn’t sense them. The only way you could pick them up was from your training with the Ninnekos. Although it wasn’t as sharp considering you didn’t invoke the Beast Imitation Arts to notice these aerial attacks. Still, you utilize your hair to block the barrage of debris from the arena. Just to be sure the tips of the tendril formed into solid fists to pummel the rocks into dust.

In the middle of the hair strike, something manages to pass through your defenses as it was a sharp Kunai. It jams deep into your stomach, leaving you shocked as several more Kunai came to strike you from multiple sides. Of course it was all fake. You timed a substitution of your own to dodge the sneak attack as you left cherry blossoms.

This game of cat of mouse was getting more intense as you continue to try and find Ino while simultaneously avoiding her attacks. With a single one handed sign you make the clone technique. Several clones start to form around you as you continue to move. This gave you the chance to start using Earth Style to look for Ino. No matter where she moved or even if she was underground you will find her.

Normally that would be considered pointless since you knew “better” clone techniques like the one Orobo and Mubi can do. Heck Naruto was screaming “why aren’t you using the Shadow Clones instead?” Resulting in Kakashi bonking Naruto on the head as he talked about learning restrictive techniques was so casual. An act that Asuma, Kurenai and Gai picked fun on though Asuma and Gai so far didn’t have any real leg since some of their students knew restrictive moves or flat Kinjutsus.

Unlike your confused classmates you were going to recreate Kin’s afterimage technique. By utilizing the clone technique with the Body Flicker technique, you set up moving afterimages to swap between with the use of Substitution Jutsu. Giving them the illusion that the real Sakura could be hiding at any one of them. This was a remarkable show of cleverness from Miss Fundamentals. Kin could only narrow her eyes as Zaku laughed.

With this defenses you were sure that you can find out where Ino was. As you focused in between your clone defenses, several of the Kunais start to move forward towards you. What ended up alarming you was the fact that all of the Kunai were aiming towards where you’re currently hiding. How?! You dodged in the nick of time with your fast footwork, however that left you open to one of the Kunai you avoid to detonate through a remote explosive tag.

Clashing fist with one another you continued to hold your ground against Ino. Ino was matching your current level of a strength. Even under blue lotus which was forty percent of your full physical prowess it was an impressive feat with the current you. Exchanging blows gave you the idea that only yellow and above would be enough to overpower Ino no problem. Green Lotus might do the trick but it was a big what if. After the clash the two of you start to make your next moves.

Swiftly you deliver a powerful arc kick, forcing Ino to dodge to the side. Using your own momentum, you rotated your body to switch to a series of kicks. Your hands meanwhile served to deflect and redirect all of Ino’s punches. You couldn’t afford any wasted movement especially when trying to focus your chakra on enhancing your observation skills.

Switching to a switch kick, you quickly follow suit with an axe kick as Ino dodges the first strike but catches the second before twisting your leg to force you into a spin. Despite this you kept up a well ironed guard as your next kick pushed Ino back as it connects with her elbow.

You continue to exchange kicks while deflecting Ino’s blows, starting to get used to her rhythm. That said, Ino swiftly catches you off-guard with a sucker punch to your right kidney. To make matters worse you felt the burst of chakra transferring itself through your dense flesh. Bypassing through your defenses, you felt a strong urge to puke blood while struggling to regain consciousness.

This shouldn’t be surprising given that you both went to medical school and Ino knows all about your abnormal condition. Again what was surprising was how Ino knew where you were going to dodge and how to inflect such an effective blow simultaneously. You sprung back with a switch to a drop kick to force Ino back while you recover from her blow. There must be some kind of secret to this. There’s no way Ino can actually see into the future…...right?

As you tried to recover Ino quickly closes the gap between you. Forcing you to exchange blows as both of you catches each other’s fist. Once again finding yourself in another standoff you focused your augmented gaze on Ino. With it you were able to briefly see Ino’s eyes glowing before resuming to normal. Her eye! It glowed again. It was only for an instant but I caught it.

The two of you pulled back to throw shuriken towards one another. Your eyes catch the sight of hidden shuirken in the clash. Forcing you to dodge to the side, you found yourself about to receive a swift knee to the face. Blocking your face with your arms, Ino smirks as she disappears from your sight.

As the soften spears brushed against Ino’s sides she quickly disbursed into another field of purple flowers. A flower clone?! Was the Ino you were fighting the entire time a clone or during the exchange she found a means to switch herself while you weren’t looking? Questions only begin to rise which was worsen by your enhanced mental prowess.

Upon realization you start to dart yours eyes around trying to find her. Focusing your chakra to enhance your observation skills you once again came to the conclusion that she wasn’t around the ground.

It dawns upon you when you heard Naruto screaming above you that you looked up. Floating high in the sky was Ino. All this time I thought she was cleverly using the Chakra Suppression Technique…when reality she was just levitating in the air to avoid my seismic sensing. You almost chuckled while sweating at thinking at the possibilities that Ino now has over you.

Seem like you weren’t the only one who can control the terrain. But the way Ino was doing was akin to telekinesis rather than just clever application of Earth Chakra or Chakra threads. Ino was really living up to the psychic archetype as you start circulating chakra through your feet to dodge the attack.

Getting ever closer to Ino you decide to expel your Killer intent to try and cripple Ino’s movements. If she was predicting your moves through reading your intent like Yugao explained during training, then you were going to use it against her. With your hair now super charged and your body within Yellow Lotus you brace yourself to strike at the last second.

Simultaneously you partially manifest Inner Sakura from your body to do two things. The first was to amplify your presence to try and overload the sensitivity that Ino surely has from whatever sensory capability she was using. The second was having Inner Sakura try and falsify any telling your body and Mind could give, making it harder for Ino to dodge.

Unfortunately, you picked up the fact that Ino manages to seemingly be unaffected as she reacts accordingly to your attacks. Yet again Ino catches you by surprise through dodging your attacks. Even with the power of Yellow Lotus and pushing your hair to maximum speed it wasn’t enough to land a hit. Although your attacks were becoming harder for Ino to gracefully dodge like before as she often came close to being lightly grazed. You could see her using the Chakra Enhanced Conditioning to push her body to speed her agility and reflexes.

You narrow your eyes deeply continuing to observe in between throwing punches. With the use of chakra expulsion on her hands and feet, Ino made her way through your onslaught of blows to then strike at your stomach with a well-timed kick. The kick once again was reinforced to counteract your defenses as the force was enough to knock you down to the ground. Using your hair, you reinforce it to its hardest point to shield yourself from the fall.

…okay it’s not intent. And she’s not in sensory mode otherwise that’d should’ve worked. What is it! What is she doing to pull off being able to react perfectly to my attacks?! The rest of the crowd was speechless at the explanation. Asuma could only smirk as he knew about it and was precisely hoping that the trips to the fire temple would help improve Ino’s mental and spiritual abilities. But even he didn’t think she would take it this far. Sasuke recalls a brief recollection from his father about a certain Uchiha who was so good at the Sharingan was rumored to be able to see the future.

Most just chalked it up with it him being so good with the Sharingan’s Eye of Insight that he pushed it to the limits. Kakashi on the other hand has also mentioned that there’s people who were naturally acute with very strong levels of perception and accelerated probability that they come off as being signs of divination akin to precognition.

At the same time several of the destroyed rocks and rubber start to float around Ino. Already she was getting prepared for her next attack.

Sorry for taking long with this. I was doing additional research to try and explain the several acts of divinity/enhanced foretelling that the series demonstrates and I didn't want to simply label it as "lol Dojutsu" as they already got enough busted things but it is easier for them to pull this off. Same goes for utilizing Senjutsu as seen with Naruto.

By introducing "Future Telling" earlier and trying to rationalize it, I am effectively making it less of a random occurrence while justifying certain actions like with the Sage of the Six Path's prediction. That said it isn't all knowing or set in stone.

Okay, so Ninshu can be used to predict the opponents actions, that's fine.

Another question, how can she match us physically? It's one thing to just say she's trained a lot physically, but somehow I doubt that's It. Could she be using self-hypnotism? I don't know a ton of Naruto lore but I know the Yamanaka have mind jutsu. If she could hyponotize herself to remove the limitations the body has on the muscles for long term health and safety, she could achieve herculean levels of physical ability.

At the drop of another pebble both you and Inner Sakrua start to charge at Ino from different sizes.

Ino on the other hand start to use the debris to try and keep the two of you at bay. Moving with unrestrictive speed and greater leg muscles gave you more of a chance. Inner Sakura went to try and take control of the battlefield back from Ino with Earth Style. Leaving you to serve as the vanguard with your direct attacks. With both of you Ino was pushed to her limits keeping up. Even with her sharpened reflexes and well trained agility/dexterity it was exceptionally hard for Ino to dodge.

She had to expel more chakra to augment herself to keep up. With her actions split between using the Chakra Levitation Jutsu to clash with Inner Sakrua’s Earth styles and using Future Vision to predict your moves it was looking likely you were finally staring to tear down at this wall. Giving the amount of effort Ino has to put to keep being one step ahead was starting to wear her down. The best she could get away now with scraps from your blows.

Even with the use of flower clones and substitutions, you didn’t let up a single inch. Gradually but surely you were taking back control of the fight. You can do it, you can finally defeat Ino Yamanaka.
