The elven man gave the finishing touches to the ancient runic circles in the subterranean vault.
It had been a monumental effort to restore the magical circuits into a functioning state but they had finally done it.
They had carefully written the contract for the devil they needed to summon and set in place powerful protective sigils to contain it,
now they required to courage to call him.

Next to him was the only surviving archeologist of the expedition
“Are you sure this is a good idea?”
The man sighted, “It’s not, but it’s this or letting the Rot eaters get us.”
A kobold that had been hiding behind the elven woman let out a yelp when he approached the circle, taking out one of the artifacts they found.
“What if the demon gets mad? Can’t we negotiate with the Empire? We could exchange this place and artifacts for our freedom.”
The elven scholar let out a sad laugh.
“They will kill us down the moment they know what we found.”

The scholar began chanting the rituals of invocation and pouring the mana held in the artifact into the geometric web of runes and circles that covered the room.
The kobold hid behind the woman’s skirt , like a child hiding from a stranger, trying to avoid the attention of what was coming.
“Gods preserve us.” The woman whispered, holding on to her rosary for comfort.

...

Autumn is here and the forest outside your window turns orange in the wake of the winter.
It was a young forest, planted to replace the one that burned.
You are going through the motions of your routine around your apartment, feeding the cat, feeding yourself, showering and so on.
You drift through your morning without putting thought or effort into it, it’s the inertia you have gathered from living enough.

Once you feel ready for the day you pat the head of your feline friend and leave.
You go for the stairs, passing the broken elevator.
The monotone descent blend together until you reach the exit where the clouds are painted red by a sun that does not peek over the horizon.
Your routine stops when nausea hits and your guts feel like you drank bleach.
The air escapes your lungs and you fail to fill them again, you fall to the sidewalk whimpering.
With tears of pain, your eyes fail you and you are submerged in darkness.
A sensation of falling takes over your mind while you empty the content of your stomach.
The vomit leaves the taste of blood in your tongue.

You force your eyes to open but only wild shapes and colors pass in front of you.
Your flesh feels like is being pulled apart in every direction.
You grunt in pain while forcing yourself to remain conscious, the ground is cold and the air feels different.

Your eyes try to adjust to the sudden change of light, blinding you for a moment.
In that second you can hear the voice of a man, its words reverberate in the empty room and in your headache.
“Demon, I have summon thee so you may bless us with strength. I offer entrance to my world and refuge from yours.”
*What?* you think to yourself

In front of you are two elves from what you would expect from a fantasy world, but they have horns and some animalistic features.
Behind the woman there is someone hiding, it looks like a humanoid gecko.
How do you react? What do you say?

“What?”
The elves stare at you expectantly, still clutching tightly their charms of protection.
After a minute of awkward silence the elven man was the first to speak.

“Mighty one, we plead that you save us from the Rot.”
Your brain goes on autopilot and asks again.
“What?”

The man is clearly nervous now, he turns around and begins discussing something with his companions.
In your confusion you just survey your surroundings.
You stand in an empty room apart from the many interconnected pentagrams and runes on the walls and floor.
Before you begin wandering too much the man speaks again.

“I’m Niven Orbryn , Demon, I have summoned you-“
“I’m not a demon.” You interrupt him
“What?” Now he is the one resorting to your catchphrase
“No, you definitely are a demon. Stop trying to fool me. You are just wasting your time.”
He seems very sure of that statement and you are not sure if it’s worth arguing with him.

“Let me start again. I’m Niven Orbryn and I have summoned you so you may save us from the undead.”
You process what he just said and ask the most basic question.
How?
He takes kindly enough the question and simply declares that “You punch them with your magic”

Then he continues, interrupting you before you begin explaining you don’t have magic.
“Of course we cannot allow a demon to enter the material world without a binding,
so you would need to sing this in order to leave that runic circle.”
He throws you a scroll and you catch it mid air.
The thing is written in the same language as the runes in the circles.
Oddly enough as you inspect it the symbols become clear and you can read without problems.

3. You may not take tools, weapons or souls without properly informing the owner.
4. You must never harm sentient creatures without instruction from a holder of a ring of clan Seeker
5. You shall not attempt to summon other demons
6. You shall not consume the souls, blood or flesh of enemies
7. You shall not be more than 1 mile away from a holder of a ring of clan Seeker
8. You must not conceal information to holders of a ring of clan Seeker
9. You must not assist in criminal activities or aid criminals to escape justice.
10. You must refrain from damaging homes or tools unless it breaks rules above.

All of these rules will be in place until the death of the signer.
If the conditions were to be broken the signer would suffer pain until the infraction is corrected.
In exchange for following these conditions the signer will gain free roam on the material world and permission to exit the summoning circle.

*This is ridiculous* you think to yourself.
You decide to be prudent and leave before these nuts kill you by throwing you at zombies or whatever.
“Nope. Send me back.”

The lizard speaks while the elves remain in stunned silence.
“Excuse me?”
“You guys summoned me, you can send me back home right?”
Oh,no. They are sweating.
“Yes, about that Mr. Demon. We don’t know how to do that yet.”
The man is clearly panicking while he tries to make excuses for this and the other two are just apologizing in fear.
The lizzard is kneeling down and asking for forgiveness
>>Game of binding
You will be able to change 1 rule by talking with the elves (And if they agree) and add/remove words anywhere and roll to see if they notice.
The smaller the change more chances of success (1 letter +0 DC , 1 noun +4 DC )
Base DC for the first change is 0 and it adds +4 for every following change.
The contract must be intelligible. That’s the only condition.

What do?
>Sign the contract (After changes are made)
>Convince them you are not a demon (How?)

This. Let's test it out. If it works then that either means we're a demon, or magic is real and this is bullshit.
>>
>>5111030
Attempt this.

If it fails...

>>5111025
>Rule modification: we can break the rules if absolutely necessary for self defence, as long as it isn't against Clan Seeker or in direct contravention of an order

Come of, isn't a man or demon entitled to self-defence? If we aren't permitted to do that, why should we help protect them?

Either way, while they're discussing that...

>Sneak in a change: 2. You cannot hold RINGS of clan Seeker

At a quick glance, while frazzled, maybe they won't realize that we've granted ourself the ability to have -A- ring.
>>
>>5111030
that’s a big dick move right there.

>>
>>5111025
In case we do walk out and it turns out to be a bad idea, then we have to begrudgingly come back to the rulz.

1. You must obey orders from any holder of a ring of clan Seeker [within reason. The holder of the ring cannot command a demon to commit harm to itself.]

2. You cannot hold a ring of clan Seeker [unless permitted to by the holder, unless the current holder dies, else you are allowed to hold the ring for the purpose of find a new candidate for the ring] (leave out a clause for when we need to give it back)

3. You may not take tools, weapons or souls without properly informing the owner [unless the owner is imprisoned, unconscious, insane, or in harm's way]

4. You must never harm sentient creatures without instruction from a holder of a ring of clan Seeker [with exceptions to self defense if a sentient creature or otherwise strikes back]

5. You shall not attempt to summon other demons [unless requested by the holder of the ring, but come on. Summoning more demons is gay]

6. You shall not consume the souls, blood or flesh of enemies [unless allowed by the holder God the ring, or for the purpose of aiding the holder should they be in danger] (leave out examples of different levels of danger, like if they get a paper cut)

7. You shall not be more than 1 mile away from a holder of a ring of clan Seeker [unless requested by the holder to be farther than a mile away]

8. You must not conceal information to holders of a ring of clan Seeker[Unless requested by the holder or their life should be in danger, information will be withheld until asked. There are something mortal minds cannot learn, less they be driven insane] (total bullshit but they dont need to know that)

9. You must not assist in criminal activities or aid criminals to escape justice [unless it aids the holder of the ring, or the law enforces are complete assholes. Fuck those blue collared pigs.]

10. You must refrain from damaging homes or tools unless it breaks rules above.
leave rule 10 alone ("unless it breaks rules above" means we can do whatever we want so long as it's related to breaking things, I think)
>>

>>5111025
Wait a second. Arent we forgetting a few things? Do we still have all our clothes and things in our pockets? Are we covered in blood and vomit? Wheres our cat? If we convince the elves to do the summoning again, can we summon our cat? Because if we're gone, who's going to feed it?

>>
>>5111059
And to DOUBLE ENSURE THAT WE GET OUT

remove "Following" from "for in exchange for following these conditions". Since if we dont follow them, by letter, we are to be sent back to the circle.

That's like. . . DC 4 if I understand right. First is free, the next is costly. But if we remove following first, then no, then it's only like 2dc.

But maximum for removing 2 works is 8.
So we can just do that when the leaving doesnt work.
>>
>>5111058
>Do we still have all our clothes and things in our pockets?
Yes, miscelaneous stuff. No guns
> Are we covered in blood and vomit?
Just the floor and you got a bit on your shoes
>Wheres our cat?
At your home, of couse.
>can we summon our cat?
... I'm not sure. Tecnicaly posible but you were summoned at random. They are not good at this.

>>5111059
the only rule is "The contract must be intelligible"

>>
>>5111059
You're on the right path anon, but changing a word is DC4. We can do better.
>If the conditions were to be broken the signer would suffer rain until the infraction is corrected.
>pain->rain
One letter. DC0, auto succeeds. It just starts raining when we do whatever.
>>
>>5111065
Then we just need to remove following, then make it rain.

So to solve a drought, we literally just pick up a shovel. Hillarious.
>>
>>5111065
Lmao this
>>
>>5111066
DC 5.

And the reason we dont just chnage 1 letter, is because faustian bargains have to be airtight.
>>
>>5111065
Hahaha, alright, I'm down for this.

>>5111041
Changing my "if it fails" modification to that. I would like to obfuscate this by convincing them to add in a self-defence clause, though.
>>
>>5111064
>... I'm not sure. Tecnicaly posible but you were summoned at random. They are not good at this.
NEW OBJECTIVE: SUMMON OUR CAT
>>
>>5111070
Agreed. If we can learn to do so and only make it rain as a result, that's cool.

Though, loophole: we and our cat may or may not qualify as demons, but in summoning our cat, we aren't ATTEMPTING to summon a demon. We are ATTEMPTING to summon a cat... And if it is made a demon as a result, so be it. That isn't what we are attempting to do.
>>
>>5111025
Change every “Y” in you to “L” so some pour sap named Lou has to bear the contract, but not us. That’s DC 0, so auto success across the board.
>>
>>5111078
kek this too, let's fill the contract with nonsense.

>>5111060
If anything we can always fuck around until the undead get here, forcing them to release us.
>>
>>5111080
>let's fill the contract with nonsense.
+4 DC for every change after the first. We can only change one single letter in the entire contract if we want it to remain DC0.

>This is ridiculous. As if some squiggles on the floor could really stop you. Just walk out.

The little voice of reason in the back of your mind tells you this is bullshit.
You can accept magic is real because you are here now, but you are not a demon and a some parts of the magic circle are painted on the rock instead of carved into it.
So you guess you are fine.
You take a deep breath and to the absolute horror of the elves, you begin to walk towards them.

Your heart skips a beat the moment you cross the lines in the floor.
After a few seconds, different circles changed color to purple and blue.
Small multi-colored rays emerged from them and were hurled towards you.

There was no time to react, they all hit you.
And now you felt uncomfortable, as if you are in a set of clothes that are too small, but that was all the effect they had.

The elves began to scream in panic and the kobold fainted.
The elven man froze as you spoke to him.
“So… what now?”

Abdrrance sounds interesting to have at least 1 point invested into it, instead of having none.

Since everyone is suggesting their own changes to the rules (although >>5111045's seem the most reasonable for the most part):

"1. You must obey orders from any holder of a ring of clan Seeker [within reason. The demon cannot be compelled to harm itself. The Owner's orders take precedence and cannot be contradicted by other holders of clan Seeker's rings and lower ranking ring holders cannot contradict the orders of higher ranked holders]Priority 2 Change
2. You cannot hold a ring of clan Seeker [unless directed to do so by the Owner]Priority Change
3. You may not take tools, weapons or souls without properly informing the owner. [unless the owner is imprisoned, unconscious, insane, otherwise incapacitated or in harm's way] Priority 4 Change
4. You must never harm sentient creatures without instruction from a holder of a ring of clan Seeker [unless in self-defense, or in the defense of a holder of the ring, the holder's allies, or innocents] Priority 3 Change
5. You shall not attempt to summon other demons [Cats are not demons]Priority 5 Change
6. You shall not consume the souls, blood or flesh of enemies [unless allowed by a holder of a ring, or for the purpose of aiding a holder should they be in danger] Priority 10 Change
7. You shall not be more than 1[0] miles away from a holder of a ring of clan Seeker [unless requested by the Owner or a holder of the ring to be further away, or in order to assist a holder when he or she is incapacitated] Priority 7 Change
8. You must not conceal information to holders of a ring of clan Seeker [unless requested by the Owner, or should such information potentially endanger a holder of the ring; information will be withheld until asked.] Priority 6 Change
9. You must not assist in criminal activities or aid criminals to escape justice [unless it is to the greater purpose of assisting the Owner, or a holder of the ring or their allies] Priority 8 Change
10. You must refrain from damaging homes or tools unless it breaks rules above.

[All rules will be in place until the holder of the ring nullifies the contract or the death of the signer.] Priority 2 Change
[If the conditions are broken the signer will suffer rain until the infraction is corrected.] Priority 9 Change
[In exchange for following these conditions the signer will gain the ability to roam the material world, assistance from the summoner to summon CAT, and permission to exit the summoning circle.] Priority 1 Change"

I don't know if I like there being so many words to refer to the dude's we're signing a contract with. Is it "the Seeker clan" or is Seeker a position within the clan? How many ring holders are there, and do we really want to have to obey all of them? Is Owner and holder different?

I think I can understand the use for animal empathy, but only towards domesticated and tamed animals. Wild animals would either want to run away, keep their distance, or try to kill us if they're hungry. That's just my opinion though. Maybe the animals in this worlds are strangely social.
>>
>>5111134
I figured it'd be good for rogue shenanigans, although I suppose it depends on whether or not QM typo'd there. Hiding things in yourself and on yourself are two pretty different things.

>>
>>5111139
Animals can also include more than just mundane ones, bare in mind.

I'd argue the wild animal usage is greater than domesticated. Making one leave you alone or refuse to attack you is not an insignificant power.
>>
>>5111144
It isnt a typo. A "mule" is someone who hides contraband within their body to transport it through customs/over national borders. Usually drugs.

So being interior carry fits. It's just a super niche skill
>>
>>5111169
>I'd argue the wild animal usage is greater than domesticated.
How?

>Making one leave you alone or refuse to attack you is not an insignificant power.
Isnt that for domesticated animals?

>>5111173
Oh that's kinda gross.
>>
>>5111180
If you understand how an animal behaved, you understand how to tell them that you are dangerious, how you are not.

You can bare your teeth to dogs to tell them you are ready to fight, lower your eyes to tell them you dont want any trouble, wave your arms around to seem bigger to bears as a warning and you can listen to a snakes hiss to tell you if you are getting too close to comfort.

Once you understand their language you can speak it, once you can speak it you have a chance to "talk out" your problems like any normal person.
A hungry dog may still bite, but a scared hungry dog may decide you look too tough for it to handle and go find something easier to bite.

>Gross
Super dangerious too. If containers in the stomach get split, you have drugs flooding you from the inside.
>>
>>5111207
Because ultimately SOMEONE has to tame animals, and that taming comes under animal handling.

A tamed animal is simply one taught that humans feed you, and biting them usually gets you not fed.
Tricks occasionally included as they understand that gets them treats.
>>
Oh shit, should we pick a name?
Anon? Dick Chainy? Long Dick Johnson? Hitler Jr.?

With your newly realized freedom you begin inspecting the runic circles.
They are just causing a mild discomfort but you would prefer it to be gone.

As you begin smudging the drawn lines in an effort to stop the uncomfortable sensation.
The elves don’t even try to stop you, you simply remove all the sigils they had taken weeks to decipher in a few seconds.
When all the glowing circles are broken the tight sensation of your skin relaxes and you can easily breathe now.

[Magic escapee penalty has been disabled]

You turn around , now only the unconscious lizard and the elven man are in the room.
“Hey, what happened to the gal?”
The scholar suddenly came back to reality from deep thoughts, being as surprise as you by the disappearance of his companion.
“oh, she probably ran away. Most likely is hiding.”
He took the contract you had dropped and began revising it.
“Sooo… is there any way I can convince you to sign this?”

Cany you summon my cat? I left her some food but I dont think she'll last alone by herself. Her name's Lucy.

What's the lizard on the ground?

Where are we exactly, and why are you trying to summon demons?

Why do you have horns?

Let's visit the security room. Maybe she fled there.

This is clearly just some weird ass dream. Maybe reflections of our subconscious desire to be desperately needed by someone. If we die here we are likely going to wake up back home. But on the other hand the plot seems interesting and the setting cool, plus the visuals are kind of swell, it would be a shame to not make the most of this situation.

So maybe the word 'demon' means something different to you than it does to me. Because you also assumed that a real demon would have already killed you by now, and I figure my definition of demon would have also done that, but... how about you just define 'demon' for me real quick. Maybe I am one by your definition, but I certainly am not one by mine. And as far as cosmic horror goes, don't try to think to hard about what a demon thinks a demon is."

I walk barefoot these empty halls in darkness, my bones ache and every time I brush against the walls I feel my flesh yield and deform like clay.
I just want it to stop, but I don't know how.
An addiction to a forgotten substance.
I try to fill the void that has left me with anything within my reach.
I can't stop it.

I just want to stop existing but even death is an elusive substance.
I scream into the dark hoping someone will come rescue me but it's just me and the worms under my skin.

They have been my food for quite some time now. We live in an incestuous cannibalization that appeases our hungers.
But it’s not enough, we dream of more, we dream of being satisfied.
There are others like me here, partaking in the twisted rituals that quench the hunger the same way you empty an ocean with a spoon.
A ingestion of the self in a dream to die, but it’s a dream.
Our bodies refuse to let us rest in peace.
Our torment is interrupted by light. People!
We scream in jubilation, we hope they will free us, but they are screaming.
Why do you scream?
We are the ones in pain, why do you imitate our wails?
Were you seeking freedom from your flesh?
We are rushing them, the Hunger calls and blood flows from both sides.

WHY!?
We are the ones in pain, release your blood to us! You will not trick me!
I will feed, you will scream with us! Share our burden and appease the Hunger!
-Rot eater thoughts as the expedition breached into their chambers.

You decide its best if you tackle the “Demon” issue head on or its going to get annoying very soon.
“"Okay, I realize argumentation cannot happen if we don't believe in the same facts of reality.
You seem to have your wits about you, you're likely not an anti-vaxxer. So maybe- ”

He takes out a notebook
“What is a Vax?” He ask you, waiting for your response like an excited schoolgirl.
You really should have seen this coming.

“Not the point. Just what IS a demon? Maybe you did the magic wrong.”
The elven scholar looks at you with a mix of indignation and fear.
“No, no, no, I will admit you are my first. But I can’t have messed up, the main summoning circle was intact and the Rot eaters are similar to you.
You did ignore the magic shot at you, that is a property of demons.”

This is getting confusing.
“Wait, what do you mean they look like me? Would that not mean they also look like you ?”
“Maybe you just need to see them to understand.
The good news is we have some time to prepare for them, the bad news is that’s because they are eating the rest of the expedition.
We are down to six people and one dwarven mercenary.”
You decide to drop it for now and go with more pressing matters.
“Can you summon my cat? I left her some food but I don’t think she'll last alone by herself.
Her name's Lucy.”

“I could try but just with a name is going to be difficult.
Summoning was illegalized since the Great war and most of the runes to make it work were destroyed.
This is a demon bunker that predates the war, so it’s more than 400 years old.”

Well, that gave way to more questions but you should stay in the present.
“What about your lizard friend? you might want to check on him.”
“Tog? Don’t worry, he is pretending to be dead so you don’t eat him.”
“Well, fuck you too buddy!” says the kobold as he stands up.
“It never works! Your race just gets killed each time you try that trick.”
“It works on animals!” The kobold retorts, then he looks at you
“I didn’t mean you, of course you would not fall for it… please don’t kill me.”
“I’m not going to, why do you keep asking that?”

Before they can answer that something enters the room.

Its body is covered with a chainmail vest and many recent wounds, one of her eyes also looks blind.

The elven man takes the initiative, but avoids eye contact like a child that has broken something.
“Oh, Hildra, what brings you here?”
“Cut the crap wizard. What the fuck is that.” She points at you
“mmmh… a demon?”
“YOU IMBICILE!” she grabs him by the collar of his jacket
“This was you big plan to bust us out!? No wonder Anny could not speak when she enter.”
“Well, what are we supposed to do? The empire won’t let us leave because of the Rot”
“So your best idea was to bind a demon, Are you out of your mind!?”
“Actually we failed at that last part” The kobold chirps in.
“WHAT!”

The warrior drops Niven and grabs the warhammer with both her hands, preparing herself to strike despite her wounds opening again.
A small pool of blood begins to form under her while you consider how to defuse the situation.

She steps forward with the determination of crushing your skull.
You evaluate your options and decide that you can actually have a shot to convince her to stop.
You raise your hands, making her hesitate.
"If it helps I'm not actually hostile and have no desire to hurt you or anyone here.”
“I don’t care. If the stories are true, just being near demons is dangerous.”
“Also not a demon, last time I checked at least" you quickly reply.
[Roll:10+5 DC: 15 = Success]

She stares blankly at you, then she snorts while trying to hold her laughter and remain intimidating.
“Niven, what did you summon again.” You can see a fanged smile while she turns to the scholar.
He crosses his arms in indignation “It’s a demon alright! Well, technically a Hue-man.”
“Human.” You reply.

Hildra drops the combat stance and begins to wall out of the room.
“Okay boss, the demon can stay but I’m drinking the remaining alcohol.”
“Hildra, that’s for medical use only!”
“I’ll mix it with something.” She left the room with the kobold following behind.
He waved goodbye before disappearing into the hall way.

“Well, now you have meet our lovely dwarven mercenary” The scholar said
“Aren’t dwarves supposed to be small?” The thought accidentally escaped your lips
“Just the males. But anyway, come over, I will present you the remaining members of our expedition.”

Entering the security room turned encampment was odd.
A mix mash of jury rigged technology and bonfires under ventilation shafts.
Hildra was drinking from a bowl near one of the fires while talking to Tog.
The kobold probably putting up with her drunken nonsense in order to stick to the biggest thing here, in case you were not so friendly.

Anny, the elven woman who had summoned you was having a panic attack while another unknown tried to calm her down.
There were two others.
An unconscious elf with a deep wound across his chest and a scrawny elf trying to figure out technology around him.
A bit difficult considering there was no power on any of the switches and light bulbs.

Nevin pushed you closer to the elves in order to present them to you.
Emilia, as you soon learned, was their ranger and medic since the previous one got killed.
She kept her distance while trying to hide either fear or hatred.
You cannot tell.

The boy was Jericho, a young artificer that soon pushed the elven elder aside to shake your hand.
Quickly bombarding you with questions about Demon-tech and how did to incorporate magic into the machines.
He is a bit disappointed when you react with confusion and leaves you alone.
“Well, will you help us escape the Rot eaters.” The elven man was blunt with his intention
“How am I supposed to defeat the horde?”
“Well, the demon lord killed a god. We expected the undead would be easy for a demon.”
You decide not to question that last statement.

But how are you supposed to defeat the undead?

Let's find out what these guys know about the undead--how much damage do you need to do to put them down? What kind of damage? Is it like a zombie movie where you can put them down by removing the head, damaging the brain and/or the brainstem? Are they infectious? Is there some kind of magic/lore reason they're animated that our companions know?--and whether or not everyone can fit in the ventilation shafts.

If they can let's set up a chokepoint and a fall back position in the vents. If they can't, let's scout/explore through the vents.

“Why don’t you tell me about the Rot eaters?”
The was a spark of hope in the elf eyes “Does that mean you will help us?”
“I’m stuck here with you and I don’t want to die, so yes? Tell me how to kill them.”
“The best way is fire or dismemberment. I do know the disintegration spell but I need to touch them to cast it, but they are faster and stronger than us, almost on par with Hildra.”

So far this is useful information, but you wonder how creatures like this could exist in the first place.
“Are they infectious? Where do the undead come from?”
“When the demon lord defeated the god of law, in its last breath, he cursed his land so the fallen would rise and consume his kingdom, it got out of control. When Rot-eaters consume enough flesh they build nests where more emerge, that’s why the Tyr won’t let us out, they fear an outbreak.”
“So they are not infectious?”
“They carry plagues in their bites but the wounds can be treated as normal.”

That is good news, as you talk more with the man and strategize you realize you are dealing with six or seven monsters, not the horde you where imagining.
“What about the ventilation system?”
“You should ask Tog for that.”
Leaving the man tending to the wounds to the unconscious elf you approached the kobold.
As he saw you coming he inched a bit closer to Hildra, who was telling him the best ways to cook roots.
You sat on the opposite side of the bonfire to keep the jumpy creature calm.
“I need to ask about the ventilation shaft.”
“Why?”
“Can we use it to escape?”
Tog closed his eyes, trying to remember the beginning of the expedition.
“Some parts are intact but they are few. Also Hildra and Metis cannot go in them.”
“Metis?”
“The unconscious elf, we are not sure if he will survive.”
“Thank you for your help.”

You stand up and begin planning on how to set up a chokepoint.

A few hours later the entrance through the archives has been blocked and the small room filled with electrical cables and runes has been filled with tables and debris to clog up the only path to you.
Only a path large enough to fit one person remains.
You are proud of your work and feel safer despite the wails the come from the darkness ahead.
“Hey Tog, can’t we get some power for the lights bulbs?”

“I don’t know what you are talking about demon, this demon-tech is a maddening labyrinth of pointless cables and switches. How are you supposed to get enough energy for all of this?”
The kobold is clearly annoyed as he draws the circuits that cover the room into a notebook.
“I supposed there must be a generator somewhere.”
“Fuck, and how many souls are you supposed to feed it a day?” the kobold looks at you in fear.
“What?”
“What?”

Some cables are made of stone or something akin to wood, but there are the classical electrical wires as well.
Getting some real electricity in this place could be an edge against the undead.
The room in electric seems to work as distribution point, so it must be directly connected to the power source.

Tog gives you a puzzled look while you use your hand to feel the cables through the wall.
Eventually they converge on a specific point in a wall.

Crawling through the vents , that to your surprise are made from perfectly cut stone, you reach the “generator”.
It looks like a car engine with biological parts, a abomination that you could see in come from H.R. Geiger.
Setting it to work took time and tinkering with pieces that reminded you of bones, and you only managed to make it start in a very janky way that would not last.
But at least the lights from this room turned on with some literal wails from the machine.

You returned to the room in electric but time had taken a toll on the structure, so with a bit of help from Jericho you began fixing the network.

but it's basically a wildcard
>>
>>5113138
We should probably try and figure out what C, A and S are before we commit to anything. My personal guess:
S is probably some sort of Security System, potentially good if it only targets the undead but also potentially devastating if it targets anything within the facility which would put us and our situational allies in danger. This is a demon bunker after all, who knows how their security systems work.

... actually that's all I have for confident guesswork. A maybe stands for 'Auxilliary', but what it's an auxilliary system of (if it is) I wouldn't be able to guess. Perhaps it powers backup computers of some kind.

C I have no clue for what it could be.

Turning on some lights probably won't screw us over and is therefore the safest bet. We can turn on three lights max with five points to spend, at least if I am checking this diagram correctly. Doors I would prefer remain closed, we don't want to accidentally open a new path into our little sanctuary that we wouldn't know about until it's too late.

Trying to guess where the different connections lead, you decide to do a test run.
You connect one of the ports to the connection base.
You suspected it was for the security room and you got it right.

The lights in the room came on and an electric buzz took shape.
Several red lights on the wall began to flash and what you previously thought was a stone panel lit up like a screen,
displaying a complete map of the facility.

You still don't know the meaning of the signs but at least you had something.
>>
>>5113204
>"We should murder the architect who designed this."
Have the map copied down for further strategizing

So of the 11 things we can turn on now W, Vnt and S are on, leaving 8 off, but there are 7 blue dots on here. That doesn't exactly align for theory one, unless L1 are the main lights for everywhere, leaving the other 6.

We had a contamination room for entering and exiting, and the top left most rooms are interesting, like a holding and observation room. But nothing that'd be like cells for experiments?

No clever ideas come to mind tho
>>
>>5113204
Let's definitely copy this map down. Based off of >>5112183 the electricity is more or less functioning where we've set up camp which is probably good for our defenses but not necessarily for getting out of here.

Possibly connect A to see what changes and whether or not we can figure out what it's supposed to be? We probably want to prioritize exploring the rooms with two dots if possible.
>>
>>5113265
Conecting A will be a proper update so i will begin writing.
>>
You decide to keep testing, powering up the next room.
You connect port A to the network and a couple of sparks fly.

Nothing remarkable seems to have happened.
You decide to follow the wiring through the wall, locating the room that has recovered energy.

You pass through the campground, leaving Anny and Jericho behind in a debate over the meaning of symbols on broken panels.
You walk past the summoning room and enter the archives with a borrowed oil lamp.

The light has not yet been restored.
You are in a spacious room with stone columns.
The floor is covered by debris from shelves that have rotted and fell.
The objects that they contained, were it books or other memorabilia, broke and withered.

You follow the cables, which are intertwined with roots until you lose sight of them.
In the dark, you hear the heavy sound of someone breathing.

You take out your hammer and prepare for the worst.
You wait with the lantern raised.
It feels like an eternity, but then you hear it.
"Master, is it you?" It is a strange voice, as if each word hurts the speaker.
You can follow the sound of the voice.
You advance following the roots until you run into the poor soul that spoke.

The wall is broken by wood and roots, a tumor that spills into the room.
Sticking out of the mass and merging with it, is a creature.
Its guts eaten by artificial vegetation and its eyes gouged out, the man still lives.

"Master? How can I serve?"
You don't know how to react.
Your brain acts automatically and you raise your voice
"Who you are?"
"I am the archivist, master. How can I serve?"
"How are you alive?"
"I am not allowed to die as long as the master does not order it, sir.
Are you going to free me at last?"
What do?

“I vow to free you by weeks end, but I still need you for a little while longer."
“I exist to serve.” His voice did not waver, even with his disappointment.

“What is this place?”
“This are the archives for experimentation station delta.”
“Am I a demon? What do you know of their world?”
The man remained silent for a while, weighing his options and what you want to hear
In the end, he comes to the conclusion you are testing him.
“The honorable humans cannot be compared to mere monsters.
They are resistant to the words of god and are falsely branded monsters for it.”
“Didn’t humans do this to you?”
He does not answer that question.

“How much do you know about summoning?”
“Nothing, the techniques were forbidden by the Empire and the Human confederacy.”

There are too many details, small and large that try to blur the picture of this world.
You decide that the best way is to get a general overview of the things that happened.
“Tell me your history, who were you?”
His expression changes, nostalgia and regret seep into his voice.

“I was born shortly after the Emperor of Kansih created his slave human army to fight the giants.
I was made soldier when the humans revolted and destroyed Kanish.
I came back to my ruined land when I was a man to purge humanity.
I killed elven and tyr, humans only when we had the numbers.
I was a bandit that wanted revenge, and I got captured by humans eventually. This is my penance.”

You were going to ask more, but a distant scream interrupted you.
It came from the camp.

After rushing to the room you find that the Rot eaters have finally arrived.
Luckily there’s only two
Hildra is taking care of the one who broke through while Jericho and Tog use some spears to keep back the one currently in the chokepoint.
Niven appears to try to gather courage to attack the one who got through while the females use short bows to perform attacks that seem to do nothing.

You move towards the one the mercenary is battling, striking with your hammer on his sides.
You can hear the crunching of bone but it does not wince.
It continues its savage assault without paying attention to you.

Rolls 19 + 5(strength) + 5 (Hildra) / DC 16 + 5 (Strength) / Result: Success 2d4 + 2 damage = auto kill

Hildra makes a push with her hammer, stunning the creature.
You take the chance to strike its knee, bending it in the opposite direction.
When it fell, the war hammer soon followed, smashing the torso and putting a hole through the moster.

Tog was having trouble keeping the thing back.
How something this big had snuck on them was a mystery
and how the famished creature was exerting that amount of force was another.

The black mass was a filled with hands reaching for him, like a school of piranhas.

Rolls 12 +2 (Tog) +3(Jericho) / DC 14 + 5 (Strength) / Result: Failure 2 damage each.

The creature grabbed the spears and moved them to the sides,
Letting its bulk fall into the barricade and closer to its prey.
Jericho tried to run but got lashed in his back.
Tog had no such luxury.

The monster grabbed him by the arm and sank its teeth on it.
His flesh strip from the bone.
He screamed as he punched the creature in a last dich effort to escape its hunger.

When you finally dispatched the second creature tog was convulsing on the floor.
The elves acting quickly to save its live while Jericho cried in the corner.

You have won this battle, yet it’s not a victory.

You decide to help the wounded.
The group does not fully trust you yet and you can still see fear in their eyes.
But they don’t stop you.
The biggest fear apparently is infection, so you take your time carefully removing the bits of teeth
And sewing up the wound.
Meanwhile Niven uses some minor spells to stop the blood.

Roll 14 +5 Dc 12 Result = Success

The wound is deep and several chunks of flesh have been removed,
but after cleaning it you have hope he will be able to use the limb again.
The final touch was to put a splint just in case the bone had received damage.
You even got to keep a coin with the healing rune on it.

<Minor heal = [1 Aberrance] (Range: Touch) (Heal 1 Corporality)> Spell acquired
The elven woman who summoned you came closer while you cleaned yourself of blood.
“Hi, I, errr. Thank you and sorry for running away when we… called…”
She is still holding to that rosary for comfort, yet it’s not helping her find the words she wants.
“ I am an archeologist so maybe you can help me understand some demon culture.
I’m Anny by the way, and you areee- EMILIA, stop that!”

You turn to seen the elven ranger dissecting the Rot eaters and stashing organs into jars.
“But they would sell so well! Just their head for collectors is a lot of money. “
“No you are not smuggling that, it’s illegal.” Anny's ears began to wiggle.
“You summoned a demon! Don’t lecture me!" The she points at you "Demon, side with me on this one. It’s going to be so sweet when we sell it!”

The two women begin arguing over the merits and disadvantages of selling rot eater organs.

I'm torn between these two options. It's probably more efficient to fix the electrical system and then explore since it'll probably reduce the amount of redundant running around we end up doing but it's probably time we got a better lay of the land and an idea about where the rest of the undead are... Especially since I'm not sure the camp can weather anymore surprise attacks.

You return to the control panel and continue with your jury rigged repairs.
Reconnecting and narrowly avoiding electrocuting yourself.

The lights in the halls turn on and the veins of the bunker flow with electricity again.

right. I wasnt sure of whether they got eventually trapped by the rot from outside the facility or if they were already inside. I sorta assumed the former while still wanting to go conquer one room after the other to clear out one dead end so the rot can only come from the other direction

desu I expect another vote between talking to the group and heading out, but since QM is now at university again he may want to keep up the pace and immediately follow up on writhing the further plans we lay out

so newly defined thing vote:
>go back to the main group

You return to the encampment and talk with Anny
Who is now trying clean the undead corpses by stuffing them into a corner.
You tell her and the kid if they wanted to speak to a pre Great War person.

“Is this some kind of deal we have to give our soul to you?”
“I would take it.” Jericho says, enticing a look of disapointment from her college.
They are terribly suspicious when you ask them to follow you, but comply.

You lead them to the archives, the lights are now on, letting you see the deterioration all the better.
“Has the master returned?” the arboreal prisoner asked, eliciting a squeak of delight from the kid.

He eagerly began studying the cell and trying to speculate how the man was kept alive.
The elven woman maintained composure and greeted it politely, making an insightful conversation on what was the fortress like.
You stay on the sides, letting the archeologist satiated their curiosity.
You learn a few things about this place.
Apart from living quarters, they tested spells here.
So finding artifacts is probable.
You began to leave the two geeks do their thing when you spotted Hildra’s head poking through the entrance.
“You can go talk to the man if you want, seems like he enjoys having conversation.” You remark
“nah, I was just checking you weren’t eating them or something.”
You can almost see a smile through her fur.
But she just turns around and returns to the security room.

When you step inside everyone seems more calm than when you left.
They really were expecting that you would eat those two.

“I’m going to go check more rooms to search for a safe way out and artifacts. Does someone want to come?”
They begin to eye each other, not wanting to go but scared of leaving you out of sight.
“Fiiiiiine, I’ll keep a eye on the demon.”
Emilia walks towards you with her bow on hand.
“But if you try anything , I will put an arrow on you.” She whispered the threat.
“Don’t worry, I will behave if you cover me.”

You explore the southern part of the fortress without a problem.
Its mostly empty space and debris left by time.
There is little to be found with few exceptions
the storage room, contained a lost expedition member that hung itself before the rot eaters found him.
And the kitchens, that apart from oxidized equipment, had a nice collection of flammable fluids.

The elf seems very enthusiastic about selling them.

You were going to keep exploring, maybe forcing one of the blocked doors to open.
But you hear the wails of the undead.
The come from the main hall, a place that you have not yet explored.
You could return to the camp in the security room or you could try to prepare an ambush fro the nearing undead here.
And there is always the option to make a lot of noise and then flee, leaving the undead confused about your position
you would need to go deeper into the unknown .

What will you do?

We have a bonus to sneak, a good weapon, the total element of surprise, and a source of light to distract them.
Let's bag some kills, I say.

But wait, OP, how are we ambushing them if they come from the main hall ? Wouldn't they have to walk past security anyway ? The storage room's not in the way.

you don't have to follow our commands to a tee
compromise, keep protag in character, and you - the person who puts in the work - must have fun with it

I guess if they were to make their way from the main hall to camp, the security room, they would have to pass the Living Room which connects to the part of the map we are currently in, so we could pincer them

the only "head in further" option I see currently is through the flooded area, or taking care of one of the blocked doors

A note to this virgin elf (we can totally smell the virgin blood off of her, she got no game), she finds anything, we can probably tell the difference from junk, cursed things, not cursed things, and so on. As for compensation, we'd like some of the things we find, considering we have next to nothing in this world. We're effectively a bum.

Set an ambush for the monster.

Does the lantern give us a temporary +1 Aberrance to use, or requires a minimum of 1 Aberrance to use?

The butchers knife, is that a -2 for us to hit things, or a -2 for peoe trying to hit us?

>Return and prepare with the others

You are not sure if it’s a group or a large creature but you are not going to face it in the open.
You give a quick order to the ranger and you both rush to the camp.

You find most of them where you left them, Hildra snoring while the Niven tends to the kobolds wounds.
But now the wounded and unconscious elf had awakened.
He tries to introduce himself but you don't have time right now
You give a shout, ordering the group to stand up and go outside to set up a barricade.
After some skepticism of your order, the undead wails make them move into action.
A few minutes later the way to the main hall is properly blocked off by a pile of scrap and rubble.

Anny then inputs a numerical code in a nearby panel, and closes the door.
"You could do that?" you ask her
“No, the Archivist gave me a list of this after I ask about the doors. He also said he wanted to speak with you.”
Neat, you think to yourself, thinking on the many other secrets of the bunker the man may have.

[Interaction consequence: Bunker Delta Keycode: All doors with electricity can be opened and locked]

Then the banging on the door starts
They won’t be able to immediately break through it, so you make better defenses against the undead.

They eventually bend the metal door to their will, their hunger is to great.
There are three of them, two are your size while the largest one barely fits through the door.
You see and odd semblance to Hildra

You can see a spark of regret when they rush at your improvised fort.
Maybe they knew they were falling directly to into trap.
But it doesn't matter.

What are your defenses?
>[Use 1 fuel] A small explosive trap ( they all receive 2 fire damage)
>[Use 2 fuel] A large explosive trap (They all receive 4 fire damage)
> A runic trap set by Niven (All your attacks receive a +2 to hit)

The lantern uses 1 aberrance to be lit, the same way a spell does. You recover aberrance after a long rest.
The butchers knife is a -2 to hit things, you recive the penalty.
>>
Rolled 16 + 5 (1d20 + 5)

>>5117290
You're probably not going to let us use all the options, which is fair, so I'll go with this.
> A runic trap set by Niven (All your attacks receive a +2 to hit)
Switch the the butcher knife for maximum lethality (penalty countered by runic trap bonus). We have a 1d20 bo3 chance to land a hit, while everyone else is +2 more likely to land blows. Its seems like a good trade off.

Don’t worry, 1 or 20 don’t override the roll.
You get a crit when your roll+modifiers have a difference of 12 with the DC
It was made this way since a lot of people dislike how a bad roll could end everything.
This way, you only get crits with a combination of luck and bonuses from good planning/equipment

The big one. The cleaver is too powerful for the small ones, we would have a lot of lost damage. Also, we have the highest strength.
While there's a case to be made for nuking the small fry, it involves the others tanking the big one for a turn, and they may just get deleted due to bad stats. Remember, less expedition members means less expendable bodies and less loot we can carry. Also less plot and character development.

The runes drawn in the floor begin to glow as the wizard feed the spell.
The rot eaters charge your position but their movement became sluggish.
The invisible web of magic traps them.
You decide to take care of the larger one.
You: Roll 16 +5 DC 11 + 6 Result: Success [ 3 Damage ]
It smashes into the barricade, but only manages to get within your reach.
You swing, drawing viscous blood from the creature.
It tries to grab you but gets stuck in the barricade, allowing you to deal more damage to it.
Your cleaver descends with a rhythm that reverberates in your bones.
The impact of each blow tries to force the blade deeper.
But still the creature does not die.
Each wound exudes blood and the worms that eat its flesh.

It comes for me.
The same way it came for my battle sisters, now it comes for me.
I wait for my time to strike
He is slowly nearing
I take my chances and strike
Hildra: Roll 7 + 6 +2 DC 20 + 5 Result: Failure [ 3 Damage]
I fail, my hammer hits the ground
I will die here, I think to myself
I try to swing upwards , hoping I can earn a few seconds more to live
But it’s too late
The long hands of the creature grab me
It bites my neck
I will die here
I can’t help but cry

A blur of motion and a volley of arrows
The elves move as one, coordination was the only thing that they excelled at
The creature hits the barricade like a bull
Elves: Roll 17 +6 +2 DC 17 +5 Result: Success [ 4 Damage ]
The strings of magic weigh him down long enough
Arrows pierce its eyeball and neck.
A shriek of agony, the maggots in its flesh won’t allow the host to die.
He lunges at Anny, who just ducks out of the way.
More arrows and the creature is blind.
Making it safe for the wizard to cast another spell.
He touches the monster, burning the tainted creature.
It falls dead.
The elves soon move to help their allies.

You continue your savage assault on the creature.
But it exhausts you.
The creature takes advantage of the weakness and tries to cease the chance to consume you.
You: Roll 17 +5 + 3 DC 17 + 6 Result: Success [ 5 Damage ]
Fortunately for you, the elves have already finished off their beast.
A helping arrow makes the creature fall.
With their help you manage to behead the monster.
But you know you almost didn't make it.

The creature has me by the neck
I take a dagger from my belt and plunge it into its body
Roll 14 + 6 +2 DC 20 + 5 Result: Failure [ 3 Damage]

My hand gets covered in its viscous blood
A small fleeting victory
I feel a sharp pain in my abdomen
The monster has responded in kind
I choke on the taste of blood
The elves try to free me, I remain in the creatures grasp
I want to scream, but I have no air in my lungs
I don’t want to die
>>
You eventually take down the remaining creature
Victory comes with a steep price, Hildra has been severely wounded.
Anny is able to stabilize her, but whether she survives is unclear.
You take her back to the encampment and hope for the best.
You all take a rest, opening a pack of rations they had brought.
It’s good, for stale meat and dried fruits with bread anyway.

While you recover the elf who had been unconscious approaches you.
Despite the multiple tears in his clothes, they still exuded opulence.
He moves with the help of crutches, dragging one of his legs behind.

He sits next to you and extends his hand.
“I’m Metis, pleased to make your acquaintance. “
You shake his hand, unsure of why he is so calm about your presence.
“I’m the sponsor of this expedition and I want to extend my apologies that you got dragged into it.
I have been speaking to my employees about your recent actions and I have decided to hire you properly.
I could offer you the same salary as a guard with a bonus for knowledge in demon-tech.
Your obligations would be to take us back to elven lands as safely as possible.”

Despite the fact that all of you would have died some minutes ago, he seems eerily calm.
He does not seem affected by the fact he could have died or one of his employees is at deaths door.

“Why do you seem so calm, do you believe me when I say I’m not a demon?”
When you ask the question he just smiles at you.
Giving you a little hope that someone will treat you like a normal person

"I fear that humanity are considered demons.
But I know the truth, you were chosen by the All Mother.” he says with confidence
“The All Mother?” you begin to have suspicions that he has some lose screws
.
“Your people called it Mother Nature or Gaia, I suppose.
Do you really think we just, one day for no reason, started summoning demons?
No, the only logical explanation is that she whispered the rituals of invocation.”

This all sounds like a conspiracy theory to you.
“Why?”
“I don’t know. For the time being.”

The elf might be a bit unhinged, but he remained very friendly while he explained other facts about the All Mother.
You decide to appreciate the fact that he treats your without any fear.

“I think I understand, but if you are convince I’m a demon , why would I need money and where would I be able to spend it?”

“Well, money IS power in a way, and demons want power.
And for the part of how will you be able to spend it, you just need a disguise! Maybe as an elf or a shy Tyr.”
That is not a bad idea.

Okay, so I'm gonna just go ahead and lay out what I want.
I want my life back. I liked my life. You guys summoned me against my will.
I also realize that this might not be easily possible. So I invoke the oldest law that was known to humanity. An eye for an eye. Which means that the way someone wronged you has to be repaid in kind.
Like when a murderer takes a life they have to pay with theirs - not by taking it, but by offering it to the family of the deceased, who, all things considered, have lost a labor force. In that family the murderer will have to work as a slave.
That's fair justice carried out by a civilized society.
Now you can't repay my family, of course. But I was still wronged by you.
So I would want a life for myself, for the life that was taken from me.
You do not believe Humans are Demons, and I want you to prove it to your kind, to pave a path for me to make it possible that I, a human, can walk in the streets of your elven lands.
Sure, I know how racism works and distrust won't go away easy, but at least to a point where no people run away from me screaming or guards feel the need to go after me always prepared to strike me down if I do something wrong.
Until then I'm willing to share my knowledge, and yeah, I help you fight out of here as well.

You consider his offer, you don’t like it but it’s the best you are going to get for some time.
“The relation of an employer and employee is built upon a contract and trust.
You will get none of those from me.
You guys summoned me against my will and I have been force into this role, it’s not directly your fault but I won’t forget why I’m here.
I will accept to assist you for now and will continue to do so as long as our interests align.”

The elven businessman kept his off putting smile while you spoke
“I would not dare to ask more.” He replied, taking your hand and shaking it.
“You will get your first payment when we get to a town then."
"I also want to ask you about your policy with the artifacts in this place.” you say
He dismissed your question quickly
“Do as you wish with them. I’m interested in written records or artifacts of historical significance.
but should other types, I would compensate their surrender with a finder’s fee.”

He then limps to the elven scholar and took a map of the region, searching for the safest route back to elven lands.

You decide to try to help Hildra, you can cast a minor healing spell and that could make the difference.
You focus on sterilizing the wound, mending flesh in the best way you can.
Every now and then you see her opening her eyes and trying to speak.
You put your hand on her forehead and order her to rest.
With no energy to argue, she obeys.
"Thank you"
Tog accompanies you while you close the bandages.

Emilia arrived at the port with empty pockets.
She got off the ship as soon as they arrived, vomiting what little she had been able to eat on board.
She hated boat trips.
But being so far from the peninsula calmed her nerves.
They couldn't find her here, she was safe.

Well, all the safe she could be in a completely strange city without a single coin to her name.
She stepped forward and disappeared into the crowd of the trading district.
Carefully "borrowing" a few purses to pay for the first night.

...

Five months had passed since her arrival and she had gotten a job in a butcher shop.
It wasn't a lucrative job, but she could survive doing it.
The sun had begun to set and only she was left in the shop.
The owner had left her to store or throw away the pieces that had not been sold.

She did not expect more clients for today and less one as strange as the one that had just entered.
A slim elf, with absurdly large glasses and a somewhat disturbing smile.
Emilia decided to use the boring lines of the trade.
"What can I do for you, sir?"
"I'm looking for a ranger for a incursion I'm organizing."
Emilia started to lower her hand under the counter, reaching for the knife rack.
"You should go to some bar and look for mercenaries."
"I already have mercenaries, I want someone who knows how to guide us through the forest and avoid the beasts."
Emilia had reached for the knives and grabbed one.
"And what are you doing here?"
The elf smiled
"I dreamed that you are a good poacher and I wanted to hire you."
The situation was somewhat surreal, but the elf continued speaking.
"Your talents are wasted here. I am willing to pay you four times what you earn in this landfill."

The elf was disturbing, the amount of information he had and that almost permanent smile made his hair stand on end.
But the idea of being able to go back to doing something fun was alluring.
And that amount of money could allow her to continue traveling south to a tyr city where she would not have the need to hide.

She put the knife on the counter and accepted the offer.

...

You are awakened by the shaking of your shoulder by a small hand.
You open your eyes to see the kobold flinch in surprise.
"Shit, I mean, good morning. Excuse me, but breakfast ..."
"Don't worry, thanks Tog."
You sit up and receive a plate of fried meat and bread with cheese.
It's not the worst thing that you could have woken up to and got to sleep without interruptions.

Hildra is still asleep, she will survive but will carry scars on her face and neck for the rest of her life.
Niven and Metis are still sleeping while Anny prepares more breakfast rations.

It's a new day and you still have to decide how to spend it.

You start thinking about the future and what you will need.
A disguise would help blending with people and not send crowds into panic.
But you would need help.
You start to think who you could ask for help,
You talk with several people and they end up pointing to Jericho

Going over by the kid he greets you, a bit nervous about your sudden approach.
“I’m trying to make a disguise so people don’t panic when they see me. Could you help me.”
He gives you a blank stare before chuckling to himself
“Sure, it should be fun.”
The two of you begin to gather material for your project.

“You know, I did something similar when I was a kid.” He says while preparing a thick coat to hide you in.
“You helped hide humans?” you say jokingly
“well, the opposite then. My brother and I would disguise ourselves as a human.
I would stand on his shoulders and hide our elven features. We gave quite the scare to some neighbors.”

“Why???” you stammer between laughs
“Not sure, I think we wanted to steal from their gardens.” He seems ashamed the complex scheme had such a simple goal.
“And how did a rascal like you end up here?”
“I wanted to gather human tech for my final degree project. I didn’t expect to risk my life on it.”
“You almost died here to get your degree? That’s so dumb.”
“It is.”

You give the final touches to the costume, it should be able to hide your identity and make you look like an elf.
[average disguise: Non-elves assume you are an elf, elves take 5 min of continual interaction with you to realize the deception]

“Neat.” You say as you try it on for the first time.

“If that true name thing is true I'd rather keep it to myself, but you may call me Anonymous, or Anon for short."
The young elf wasn't quite sure if you had really given him your name or a nickname.
After realizing that it really didn't matter, he dismissed his doubts and made a formal greeting.
"Nice to meet you then, Anon."

The conversation was interrupted when Niven called everyone to a meeting.
Once everyone was set, Metis began the explanation.
"The Empire believes us dead at this time, so they have sent a small team into the fortress to secure it and eliminate any remaining undead."

Tog welcomed the news.
"We are going to be rescued!"

"On the contrary, my scaly employee, the moment they find the summoning room or the demon we will be executed.
They are being led by an inquisitor so their behavior is difficult to predict.
There is also the possibility that they will die and invigorate the Rot eaters"

A sense of defeat filled the camp.
Except for Metis, he was no longer smiling but had a serious expression that showed no emotion.
"Do you think we could hide the room?" Jericho said, looking for some solution to the problem
"Probably, but that doesn't mean they won't kill us. It just means they'll take time to decide."
"How about a frontal assault." Hildra said, staggering in her footing.
A large portion of her fur had now been replaced by scarred skin.
Immediately Anny and Tog ran to catch her before she fell.
"An option, but neither you nor I can run or be useful in combat. We would have to stay and die."

All options were bad and time was running out.
The worst feeling was the bitter taste that lingered in her mouth
as the realization that there is hardly anything you can do to change the future sets in.

What will you do now?

Why not, I'll take a shot in the dark.
So anyone remember how long ago the military was supposed to have moved in? Did we come into this world with a watch of phone to keep track of time? All I'm saying is, maybe we're not dealing with so land undead because they mostly vacated outside, and it's a pitch battle between the living and dead. Maybe the military is losing and we're soon to be fucked.

Actually now that the facility is back online, I wonder if there were any external point defense turrets outside. If there are turrets, and they are functional, they probably wont register the army as friendlies, which as a consequence will have the guns turn them into chunky salsa.

Theres my crapshot guess.

>>Something is not right (what is wrong?) (+1 to instinct if guessed correctly)
The security room has screens that show rooms and colored blips, not actual cameras.
How do you know the Empire is inside the facility, and that an inquisitor is with them ? How did you get past the Rot Eaters to see them ?

If that's not it, it could be a weird change in policy, since the Empire was shown to not be willing to approach Rot-Eaters, but to contain them.

Something is not right = How would he know?
That answer is correct. He knows this the same way he found this bunker.
(Your Instinct stat is now 6)
>>5121575
>it's a pitch battle between the living and dead
… not inaccurate. This old bunker is within the old demon lord land.
You evaluate everything the elf says and come to a conclusion.
He shouldn't be able to know all that.
You try to think of some way he could have found out but you can't find any way.
You also find it strange that none of the others question him.

Once separated, you approach Anny and ask her.
"He tends to know things he shouldn't. He's happened to us before and he's never been wrong.
If you ask him directly he'll give you evasive answers like 'I saw it in the stains on the wall' or something crazy like that."

"Any theory why he does that" you ask
"We have a couple, Tog thinks he's actually the demon lord. Niven thinks he's telepathic. We're not sure."

You say goodbye to Anny and head to the archives.
The room is now illuminated by a sterile white light that highlights the trash in the room.
The Archivist is right where you left him.
"I have some questions."
"I live to serve." he said in a monotone voice
"Is the security room equipped with cameras or something similar to monitor the bunker?"
"No, the security room is mainly used to monitor the electrical and gas systems.
Now I have a question, you are not one of the masters, right?"

The room went silent for a while and he continued talking.
"You sent some elves to talk to me, I learned from them.
I know you are human, but you are not one of my creators.
Why do you keep me alive?

The archivist tried to free himself from his prison, pushing his broken arms against the imprisoning bark.
But he only managed to squirm.
"LET ME DIE!" he yelled and then silence.

What will you do?
>kill him
>Not yet
>Try to convince him to live (how?) (Roll 1d20 Bo3)[Speech]
>Write in

You came out of the archives and run into the mage working in the summoning room.
"Hey, I wanted to show you something." He said, motioning for you to come closer.
"You said you wanted to summon something. Well, I'm stuck trying to fix this.
Could you try using your magic and fix it just like the lights?"

You sigh and start to explain to Niven that you don't have magic and that this is different.
You don't know how or what shape it has to...
You stop to look the runic symbols.
You can read them.
They look a lot like programming.
*What the fuckkkkkkkkkkk* you think as you bend down to study them.

okay, first of all... all variables ought to be lowercase where "break" and "base" were capitalized.
break is actually a keyword, so... let's change it to cancle, maybe change it's type to boolean as well
there's an unnecessary line with int, remove that.
Maybe we can guess that Aberrance and T are global variables initialized somewhere else
We can guess as to what Aberrance means, but... ask Niven what that T means
and ask why not just say fuck it, and do:
int main() {printf("Summon!\n");}
>>
>>5121907
>there's an unnecessary line with int, remove that.
Maybe that's where T is supposed to be initialized?

Also this line
>Do (location == location +1) }}
it's nested in the else branch of the statement but what is it supposed to do? Isn't Do a keyword for one type of While loop? And the expression inside was probably meant as increment, rather than comparison?

Aberrance is our character parameter so that's probably on summoner...
>>
>>5121823
and also there's the initial condition.
Firstly we need to confirm that should be a logical OR or something else (like AND), and then there's the probably garbled
>Base % == 79-T
expression

and the issue of aberrance which will probably have to be adjusted somehow. % operand is for rest after an integer division, right?
>>
>>5121907
>and ask why not just say fuck it, and do:
>int main() {printf("Summon!\n");}
Becouse you wouldnt know from where you are summoning`.

maybe
>>5121927
there's a lot wrong with the code

each of the logic pieces will always be true or false when written correctly, making the need for these variables unnecessary, the only variable that matters is Aberrance

% is a modulo operator, which only gives the rest, yes. so an Aberrance of 0, 10, 20, etc. will fail the if statement

Do is also a keyword for while functions, yes, and (location == location +1) will always fail

and even after all this, the only thing that happens is a print out "Summon!", which... doesn't exactly look like it'd actually summon anything

my suggestion was just that, after a moment of looking at his code, to raize it to the ground and just do the print function

if we want to have the Aberrance safety, go for:

int main()
{
if (Aberrance > 0)
printf("Summon!\n");
else
printf("Error\n");
}
>>
>>5121939
thanks OP, it's fun.

>>5121945
actually aberrance divisible by 10 would evaluate as true when comparing it with 0, no?
> Aberrance % 10 == 0

anyways I don't think we can safely omit stuff already in the circle. It did work to summon us, right?

Location and base are probably some sort of targeting parameters. Maybe we should really ask Niven what did he have in mind when doing this, that might offer some insight as to what they mean. The location might just be sent to "hell" from his perspective... but what could the base mean? Could it be nature of the creature being summoned?
>>
>>5121939
haven't read this when I made my post here >>5121945

>>5121954
>actually aberrance divisible by 10 would evaluate as true when comparing it with 0, no?
>> Aberrance % 10 == 0
dang, you're right...
so maybe it should have been only for mages with Aberrance 10?

so we need to Ask Niven how the coordinate system works in that regard
and maybe lets's not touch Aberrance, only put it in a save const so it won't possibly get changed in the spell

int main()
{
const int saveAberrance = Aberrance;

int location = 45;
int T = 0;
int base = 79 - T;
int cancle = 0;

if ((location % 45 == 0 && cancle != 0) || (base == (79 - T) && saveAberrance % 10 == 0))
{
printf("Summon!\n");
cancle = 0;
}
else
{
printf("Error\n");
cancle = 1;
}
}
>>
>>5121995
Sounds good to me. Only thing left I can think of would be the logical OR in the main “if” condition. It looks like the summon would fire if either half of the condition resolves as true, but wouldn’t it make more sense for an AND to be there instead? I guess we need the elf to elucidate on what parameters he was going for.

You ask a final question before the scholar manages to escape from the room.
"Wait, this spell needs a lot of power to work. Who supplied it?"
"Anny and I, it was a joint effort."
He said, finally reaching the door and running away in case you got more angry.

You decide to ignore him and start applying the changes you have thought of.

...

Half an hour later and you've rewritten this madness of doodles and bad ideas into something functional.
you make a mental note not to use complex spells designed by elves.

On second thought...
You'll likely have to treck through the wilderness for however long before getting to civilization and you don't exactly have a cat carrier.
Cats, while you love them, are not dogs that will follow you around just like that. If we're gonna be honest, she'll likely get lost and might have much better chances surviving at home when someone finds her than you bringing her here.

>Summon cat and computer.
Everything is ready
You will finally be able to summon your cat and maybe your computer.
If all the magic in this world is programming, this is going to be ridiculous.
Although you would need more power.

A couple of requests later and quite a bit of time spent convincing the elves and you managed to get Jericho and Anny to help you with this project.

You begin to pour energy onto the runes.
It feels like exhaling heat.
Your fingers become numb and a superficial pain covers you.
The magic circulates the circles, it gives the appearance that it is alive.

[Summon creature (10 aberrance) (1 prepared room) (1 year caster life) Summons an "infernal" creature]

A flash and two spheres of light begin to grow inside.
The first takes animal form, which eventually becomes your cat.
It seems somewhat scared by what has happened and jumps to hide between your legs.
You pat its head trying to calm it down, with a bit of success.

The second sphere takes on a rectangular shape and changes color a couple of times before dropping to the ground.
It's your laptop, but you're not sure what happened to it.
It seems to be made of plastic and tendons.

You get closer and you get it to turn on.
The surface that should be black until bright colors appear to welcome you has been supplanted by a sheet that looks back.
The keys you press feel weird, like you're crushing a beetle every time you press one.

And the strangest thing is that it still works.
You can see your notes and papers
You can open folders and find your games.
It’s still the same computer in some sense.
You put it in a bag, preferring not to see it right now, and throw your hand at the phone you were carrying.
You hadn't checked it since you got here because you knew there was nothing to do with it.
And now that you turn it on you see the same situation.
The machines feel alive, much more than what is comfortable for you.

As you ponder the meaning of these revelations
Anny tries to make friends with the cat by attracting her attention with a piece of string.

Jericho however was fascinated by the other objects.
Asking questions for which you had no answer.

You decide to return to camp, leaving the room and its implications behind.
Anny kept trying to get your cat to pay attention to her.
"Do you have cats here?"
"We have something similar, although they have feathers."

You sat in a corner of the room, prepared to investigate the computer a little more.
Letting your cat roam the camp and terrorize the kobold.

You investigate how to "feed" your laptop.
In the end you called Jericho to talk to you about demon-tech
Of all the information he gave you, very little is practical.
Although you manage to discover the important thing.

This thing is more alive than would be practical.
According to what Jericho tells you about other artifacts, this one could be recharged with electricity or aberration.
The situation is a bit awkward when the guy begins to explain the different ways to sacrifice creatures to feed the machine.
It seems to be quite common.

You decide to keep checking the commands and all the parts of the computer.
It works and feels the same except for the ambiguously organic parts.
So you decides to program a spell following the patterns you have learned.
You have to combine your programming and Photoshop skills to draw the runic circles.

You finally finish and feel proud of having mastered this skill in such a short time.
You think you could keep creating more spells, it's quite fun.
But you are interrupted when Emilia brings you your disguise and starts dressing you.
You are confused by this behavior.

“Yes inquisitor, we survived by hiding.” You hear Metis say loudly in the hallway.
You quickly dress up before they enter.

Metis comes in with his signature smile,
behind him is a off loking humanoid in a religious attire followed by 5 more soldiers.
It appears the tyr platoon found you.
Wait… were did your cat go?

Metis and Niven distract the soldiers as best they can
At least while Anny blocks the door that would lead to the summoning room.

You nudge Emilia to get her attention.
"What is a normal elf name?" you whisper to him
"Go with Jhon, distract them with demonic magic while I steal from them."
You try to stop her but she evades you.
She then begins to flirt with one of the soldiers as she reaches into his pocket.

Afraid of being discovered and against your better judgment
you decide to help and talk to the soldiers.
With a bit of luck they don't notice anything.

[Roll 14 +5 DC 12 + 5 Result; Success]

"Hello, I'm Jhon. Could I ask you some questions?"
"no." Said one of the two soldiers in front of you.
okay, you didn't expect that but you need to distract them.
"Can I ask why?"
"no"
"I think he can" replied another.
"Under the law of disclose of secrets, no."
"certainly, but you just told him why."
“Damn”

"If I don't ask about secrets, could you speak?" you ask
"no””Yes." they both said at the same time
It doesn't seem like they were paying attention to each other so they didn't argue.
"How did you get here?" you ask, not expecting a real answer.
"Confidential"
"Through the door."
"Stop talking to the civilian."
"If you gave me better conversation I wouldn't have to."
"We have already talked about this, it is likely that we will die, removing emotional ties will help the survivor."
"First I have to survive the boredom."

The couple begins to argue like a middle-aged marriage.
From time to time you ask a question without consequence
Adding more fuel to the fire and increasing the proportions of their fight.
>>
Deciding that you have done a good job you sit next to Hildra
You share a bag of something that reminds you of popcorn
meanwhile the fight escalates so much that other soldiers need to intervene.

You now see the head of your cat poke out of Hildras thick fur.
“So that’s where you were hiding .” you say while patting its head.

It is not until the Inquisitor raises his voice and tells them to shut up that they stop.
"Excuse my soldiers, they are tense because of the situation."
He looks around, stopping to look at you for a second.
"We received a tip that these ruins contained something dangerous. It seems it's not here."

He hands Niven a piece of paper and continues talking.
"I am giving you an evacuation permit for these ruins.
Use it at the door and after a quarantine period of a couple of days we will allow you to leave.
I would recommend that you leave soon, the moment we cleanse this impure place we will collapse the tunnels.
Goodbye and may the flame guide you."
They left the way they entered after verifying that the other door was blocked.
You give a silent thank to Anny for that.
you and others give a sigh once they are gone.
You have survived them.

You grab Emilia’s arm before she slips away
"What did you get?"
"Nothing" she says, trying to look innocent with a smile.
"Nothing of interest, except a key to a latrine," says Metis casually.
"Really?" says the young woman, really disappointed with her catch
You can’t help but laugh a bit.
“And what did you get?” She asks, glaring at you
“Not caught?”
“Fair enough. But back to the important question. Do we leave?”
“We need a bit of time to pack stuff, so not right now.”

I'll try.
Let's ask the archivist for precisions on what ritual was used to bind him.
Our tech is now fleshy, can we maybe connect to the tree or whatever is controlling it ? It should be a part of the system if it was made by the "demons".

I don't think there is anything stopping him from leaving. He is essentially under a contract like us. He cannot move away from the tree, and if the tree dies, so does he.
If we can make the tree portable, like having a part of it stay within his stomach, it will replace his lack of guts. I'm not sure he even needs those. It's not like he'll die from hunger.
I'm trying to get bonus point for write-ins, because that DC is tough.

Before you can leave you have a promise to keep.

The archivist does not greet you when you enter the room
he knows what you're going to try.
"Why do you bother to free me? I was a criminal and now a tool. You put too much effort in my opinion."
"I know you're just trying to demoralize me so i kill you, it's not going to work."

"We agree on that, so I'll look to the future.
What would happen once I'm freed? I would return to a changed world where no one I knew is left.
Should i return to a place i'm not wanted?"

He sighs, tired of continuing to beg someone who doesn't listen to him.

"I will also enter that changed world, maybe I want company that understands the feling."
With that comment you got him to keep quiet while you worked.

[Roll 16 +8 DC 22 Result: Success]

You tried to connect the computer to the wood
But they were only ports of entry for whatever they were pumping into his body.
That road didn't seem to go anywhere.

You tried cutting pieces to free him, the wood was brittle and gave way quickly.
the problem emerged when it stopped being just wood.
His flesh, the wires, the roots, everything had been mixed to the point where you didn't know where one ended and another began.

That's when you came up with the idea of introducing more pieces.
You began to interrogate the Archivist
learning every ritual, every operation, every wound inflicted during his internment in this tomb.
After a while you manage to draw your own runes on the wood.
They began to feed on the life that ran through the prison like parasites.
Increasing their influence, overwriting the bindings and rotting the tree.

It took about an hour just to be able to define where his new body began and ended.
But you did it.
Your creation is finally expelled from the diseased tree.
Your artificial parasites cutting everything you didn't want.

He tries to get up, with a shaky step.
He still looks like a Tyr, albeit skeletal.
Ferns and roots hang from his body, covering him lightly.
>>
"HA, and you trying to convince me to give up." you coment
a sad little smile grew on his face.
"I live to serve, what do you comand."
"Are you still on that? You're free now."

"I appreciate your efforts, but freedom is an illusion. One day I will prove it to you."
"You're a very sad idiot, you know that?" you tell him
with that you ded get him to laugh a little.

"Master, what are your orders now?"
"First, how do you see? I'm watching you move but you're blind right?"
"If you spend enough time without eyes you stop needing them."
"Creepy, but neat."

>Scavenge the Archives

The archives room is a warehouse for waste and rubbish created by time.
What used to contain hundreds of documents is just one
hollow shell.

You turn to your new partner
"You told me you were the Archivist, but not your real name."
"Call me servant if you need to."
"Why don't you tell me your real name?"
"I'm afraid if I tell you, you'll try to reconnect me with some surviving branch of my kin."
"If I promise not to, will you tell me?"
I stop for a few seconds considering your promise.
"Ghal."

"Okay Ghal, do you remember anything interesting that could go on here?"

[roll 18 + 5 DC 17 Result: Success]
Between the two of you, you combed the room.
There were many papers damaged by humidity and thousands of rusty metal sheets.
They would probably contain recordings of runic circles.

Moving away more trash you find broken glass and rotten drawers.
You do get a lucky break though when you come across a piece of paper sealed in plastic.
Perfectly preserved you come across a map.
Marked on the van are the rest of the human settlements throughout the continent.
There aren't many, but if this place has been hidden for so long it might imply that one of these is too.

"Anon?"
You hear someone call you and before it enters the room you hide the document.
They don't need to know that you have it, for now.
Metis may want it for himself and you want to compare it to some modern map.

Anny enters the room, surprised to see your new partner.
"Ah, so that’s what you were doing. Nice to see you released, sir."
Ghal gave a small bow in the direction he believed the elf was.

"I still have one thing to finish, but how about we get Ghal dressed first?"
You accompany Anny to the camp and introduce them to the old archivist.
The elves have the most interest while Hildra approaches you.
"I understand that you wanted to bring this" cat "" she says, pointing to your pet, which she was carrying in her arms
"But what is that exactly?"
"Another associate."

You leave the gigantic woman trying to interrogate your cat about his alliances.
Managing to slip unseen until you reach the generator.
The machine is quite organic so you do something that you thought about from the beginning.
You stab it.

To your surprise, it works.
Your weapon pierces its skin on the "stomach?" and begins to bleed fuel.
While you still have electricity you walk calmly through the abandoned corridors.

You enter the raid equipment room almost at the same time the power goes out.
Pulling out a borrowed lantern, you scan the contents of the room.

Many empty lockers and something similar to armor but rotten.
Organized like something you'd expect from a gym locker room really.
The floor is covered by a thick layer of dust and plaster from the ceiling.
You also come across gas masks and pieces of iron too rusty to have any use.

The most surprising finding in this place is a toy.
Hidden inside a locker you find a doll mado of... plastic?
It has a weird texture, but it may be due to time.

[Human-doll; no actual use but it can reach a high price amongst collectors]
[Gas-mask; Wearer is immune to gas type poisons,+2 to hide your identity, -1 to hit rolls when equip, -1 to speech rolls]

You leave the room and look how to go to the laboratories that you have marked on the map.
After walking a bit you have them right in front of you.
The darkness consumes the light of your lantern, but not the screams that come from it.

The soldiers seem to have arrived before you and disturbed the undead residents.

You could wait for the silence to return and then go inside.
The rot eaters would have eaten and be injured.
Making your job easier.
Or you could turn around and go back to the group.
You don't need to explore every room, especially if it has screaming people in it.

And then there is that little part of your mind that tells you that you should help them.
It’s a bad idea, your whole body knows it's a bad idea.
It is not brave to lose your life for people who only give you problems.
It's not heroic to help people who literally think you are a demon.

It’s not a good idea to enter, but the amount of loot piling up with the dead Tyr is alluring.
And then you remember someone with a love of money high enough to consider entering here.

The group had packed up and was more or less about to leave.
You picked out Emilia, to explain the situation and your daring plan
“That sounds like a terrible idea,” Emilia was sternly looking at you “if the Tyr find out we would be executed.”
A sly smile the began to grow as she thought of the possible loot.
“IF they find out. “
She pretended to do more thinking but she had already been sold on the idea.
“Okay, I’m in.”

The room was barely illuminated by the fallen torches of the soldiers.
You could make the outlines of the undead, crouch down on their victims.
The sounds of crunching bone and wet slurps reverberating in the walls made your approach easier.
There were two of them, their glassy eyes paid no attention to you while your lantern was held high.
They were probably blind.
You held a firm grip on your weapon.
If you could just get a bit closer, just a bit closer.

You heard a gasp in surprise and how the elf fell.
The sound alerting the monster to your presence.

Emilia crawled away from the corpses that had made her fall.
Cursing her bad luck and avoiding the Rot eater's first blows.
Pulling out a couple of arrows, she began to assault the creature as she hid behind columns.
She knew that she was barely dealing damage to the monster.
But it was distracting enough that it didn’t notice you coming from behind.

The fight was over quickly.
“Are you okay?”
The elf did not respond immediately, her eyes still lingering on the dead covering the floor.
“Yeah, just a miss step. Let’s get this over with.”
She gave a fake smile of confidence and began rummaging the place.

You quietly began searching the place for something useful.
The laboratory was a wide room with high ceiling.
It contained several smaller cubicles making you think back to a office from the 90’
The Tyr soldiers were mutilated beyond recognition
Most of the equipment was also warped under the Rot eaters assault.
But you find pieces of intact armor that you could use.

You also find a battery of sorts and a gold coin with a runic circle.
Or something that looks like a battery, this stuff is quite confusing .
The spell contained in the coin is a bit faded but seems to be about something above your strength.

Emilia also found the time to teach you how to carve up the Rot eaters corpses.
You were not going to be carrying around jars filled with organs but the skulls could be cleanly cut.

<Force arrow [3 Aberrance] (Range: Medium) (1d10 blunt damage)>

[Rot-eater skull; no actual use but it can reach a high price amongst collectors]
[Soul battery; (Contains 5 Aberrance) can be recharged pouring Aberrance into it or killing a creature equip with it]

Once you return to the group they begin to leave.

"What were you doing out there?" Tog ask you while pulling from you shirt.
Before you could reply, Emilia grabbed him by the tail.
The kobold gave a yelp in surprise.
"I was telling him the best way to cook lizards."
"Fuck you, you don't scare me knife ears."
"Did you know that Kobolds grow their tails back if you cut them off?"
The kobold grabbed its tail tightly. "Lies! Don’t believe her mr demon."

can you rephrase that?

Can Ghal pass by regularly? Does he look normal enough now?

This is going to be the last update for the thread.
I'm sorry but I got a lot of work from the university and I'm starting to enter another low point.
Better archive this and come back to it fresh.

if you have request for the next thread or in general go ahead.

Thank you for your time and i will see you around.

You get access to 5 points of aberrance, but unlike your own that recharge the only way to fill the container up is by pouring into it or killing someone who is holding it.

And yes Ghal can pass regularly. Dressed up he only looks malnourished

exam season upon you? (#metoo)
If you want to put it on ice until it's over, like in two months, nice and refreshed, you absolutely can and should.

Would be a good point too to emerge from the facility as a new chapter of the quest.

I'll probably do the same tho.
