You’re not sure how you ended up here, you were supposed to be cuddling with the two wonderful tomatoes that you love. But now you’re about to witness a death match between your pal Oliver and a random flame user inside Esperanza’s Magical Colosseum. This show is the Judge girl’s way to repay for the discomfort she and her entity caused you. You’re officially the only crowd member in the entire stadium, and you want your money back.

“You two. You’re going to fight to the death on my signal.” Esperanza uses her megaphone to relay the rules.

“T-To the death...?!” This information takes Oliver by surprise.

“Excuse me?” The girl imagined something like this would happen, but not to this extreme.

“They didn’t know?!” You didn’t like where this is going before, but you feel like this is too much now. Esperanza is way too callous.

“Be quiet. They’re forced to follow my rule.” Esperanza puts her hand over the speaker. “And why do you care? You don’t know these mooncalves.”

“I don’t want to watch people die, especially for entertainment’s sake.” You have morals! Dubious sometimes, but you have them nonetheless! You try to get closer to the girl, but there’s an invisible wall impeding your approach. No matter what the situation is, you hate invisible walls! You don’t think Oliver or the girl can see you clearly from where you are.

“Don’t be so melodramatic. Do you understand how many people have died already in this game? One more won’t make a difference.” Esperanza isn’t getting what you’re saying. “Ugh, now Smithele is bugging me. He tells me to tell you that you need to trust me on this one, everything will be fine, I guess. It’ll be less entertaining if you know more.”

“Judge! This is inconceivable!” The girl complains from down below.

“Too bad.” Esperanza responds with little to no interest. “I do as I please in my jurisdiction.”

“You can’t be serious!” The girl is indignant.

“This is your fault for putting your nose where it doesn’t belong.” Esperanza talks back.

“Sounds like my life in a nutshell…” Oliver laughs at himself.

“Don’t make light of the situation.” The girl retorts at Oliver’s coping method with disgust.

“Sorry, when despair overwhelms me, all I can do is laugh! Buahehahuhihihi!!!” Oliver continues his trademark awful laugh.

Can you do something to stop this?

What do you do?

>Ask if you can change the rules so it doesn’t have to be to the death. A three count? Until unconsciousness? Point is, channel your inner Scarlet and make this lamer.
>Gain some time by asking to talk to the contestants in private. Make your presence known to help out somehow.
>Ask Esperanza for more details as to why everything will be fine. You can’t trust psychopaths easily.
>Keep watching. Esperanza asked you to trust her and you will have to.

Votes:

Votes are counted until 25 minutes have passed. This rule doesn't apply to the last reply of the day.
Votes that require a dice roll are counted until 15 minutes have passed, so we can speed up the process. Rolls are counted until 10 minutes have passed, so be prepared!

(NEW) Dice Mechanic:

We always roll 1d100s!
Since most people weren’t happy with the system of averaging top four rolls, we’re using best of 2/3/4 depending on the attribute a prompt requires. If Johnny is a genius and it’s a Knowledge based roll, he gets more rolls (Max. 7)! If he sucks, he gets less dice (Min. 2)!

When asked for rolls, I will specify how many you’re going to get. Rolling begins after it’s asked.

Rolling 100 is a critical! There are no Critical Failures anymore!

The difficulty of the roll is tied with the effectiveness of the action. In other words, the harder the option the better the result!

Don’t forget that at the end of the day, this is a story-driven quest! What the prompts are describing is more important than the difficulty of the rolls, for results in a fight.

Again, rolls are only counted when they are posted within ten minutes of being asked, so watch out!

“Esperanza, can you come over for a second, please?” You act polite because you feel like whatever you’re about to say is going to cause some ire.

“You two. Keep heating up this match.” Esperanza wants the other two to continue disliking each other. She leaves the megaphone on the judge's stand and jumps off to get closer to you. “What is it now?”

“Uhm, do they really have to kill each other?” You aren’t comfortable with this in the slightest.

“It’s a deathmatch.” Esperanza glares at you asking herself what part of deathmatch you didn’t understand.

“Can it end on a count to 10 instead?” You meekly ask.

“Count to 10?” Esperanza isn’t following.

“Like in Boxing.” You shadow box for a second like a doofus.

“I don’t know what that is.” Esperanza knows she won’t like it.

“It’s a combat sport.” You begin explaining.

“Like fishing?” Esperanza retorts. You wonder what Mr. Won-Jae is teaching her actually.

“You think fishing is a combat sport?” You raise an eyebrow.

“The old man I met at the pond said it’s a sport. And the fish are fighting for their lives, so yes.” Esperanza is confident in her ignorance.

“Huuh, you may have a point there. But where I’m getting at is…” You begin explaining everything somewhat important about how combat sports and martial arts operate.

“Sounds boring to me. What’s the point if they’re not fighting for their lives?” Esperanza frowns.

“To learn who’s better?” You think it’s obvious.

“That doesn’t decide who’s right or wrong.” Esperanza doesn’t like your answer.

“Beating someone up doesn’t do that either.” You think in technical terms, anyway.

“But they kill each other in colosseums, right? What’s different here?” Esperanza built specifically because of this.

“They used to, Esperanza, it doesn’t happen anymore.” You think she should’ve noticed if she was out there in the wild.

“Oh.” Esperanza sees the error of her ways. “Can you explain again how people resolve their differences now?”

“By talking?” You jest.

“Talking?! I thought you resolved your differences by killing each other. The last one standing being right.” Esperanza takes it seriously.

“That’s like a last resort thing.” You compose yourself and act a tiny bit more seriously.

“But there are so many wars in human history.” Esperanza points that out. What did Mr. Won-Jae focus on in his lessons?!

“Still counts as a last resort thing.”

“But it happens too much for that to be true.” Esperanza doesn’t buy it.

“Our ancestors had to resort to our last resort a lot, okay? But now, we try to be better than that. We always have to strive for diplomacy. For peace. I think. I’m no expert.” You can’t talk to other people.

“Then why do you kill each other for the enigmas? For this game?” Esperanza raises an eyebrow.

“Beats me. We didn’t make the rules. All we can do is deal with it.” You shrug.

“You’re as much of a victim as the fishes are.” Esperanza is in deep thought.

“I guess we are.” You’re a small fly…

“Can you tell me again how these combat sports work?” Esperanza wasn’t paying attention before.

You sigh and explain everything again.

“I need to think this over.” Esperanza crosses her arms.

“By the way, if this is the repayment for all the trouble you caused, then all you’re currently doing is adding to the pile instead of detracting from it.” You want to leave that out.

“I didn’t organize this for you. I let you attend, that’s it. This is happening whether you like it or not.” Esperanza doesn’t want you to think you’re special.

“I see, not sure if this is something I’d like as a reward.”

“Why not? This is like a date, right? We get together to enjoy some entertainment.” Esperanza sees this as a good thing.

“This is not a date. And this isn’t entertainment.” You don’t think she understands what a date is.

“People went to the colosseum for entertainment.” Esperanza points at her building.

“Again, that’s way behind us.” You wave your hand.

“Those Combat Sports you talked about don’t sound that different to me.” Esperanza is being obtuse.

“Look, Esperanza, I can’t explain all the nuances about this topic unless you have the time. So…”

“I have the time.” Esperanza is willing to learn.

You explain the ethics of combat sports and what makes it different from actual fights to the death or street fights.

“…I don’t think you truly understand the difference.” Esperanza points that out.

“I do. It’s just complicated. Sleep on it, and you’ll get it. Trust me.” You have enough Knowledge to successfully put complicated thoughts into words. So, yeah, Esperanza is not that bright.

“Fine.” Esperanza rolls her eyes. “Can we continue with the match?”

“Not a deathmatch anymore, huh?” You won?!

“I’m changing it. You said you wouldn’t be entertained by it if it is one.” Esperanza really wants to make it up to you. “Ehem, vermin, you still there?”

“Who are you calling vermin?” The frail girl doesn’t look pleased.

“Wah? I was getting sleepy…” Oliver wakes up.

“Strange, we shouldn’t feel tired in the dream world.” The girl notices there’s something off about this.

“It’s not a deathmatch anymore. You two will compete to see who is the best in a fight. The bout will end until one of you can’t continue.” Esperanza turns to you with her hand over the speaker. “Is that good? I can’t come up with rules on the fly until I learn more about this.”

“Huh, that’s fine…” You scratch the back of your head.

“How is it determined if one cannot continue?” The girl shouts from down below.

“Have you seen the boxing? Well, something like that.” Esperanza is not even trying.

“The boxing…? I hate boxing.” The girl frowns.

“We’re doing this, huh?” Oliver relaxes. “I was worried I had to kill you. Just stay down and let me win.”

“Don’t get cocky.” The girl glares back.

“Hey, Esperanza! Can I get some Snackos?” You channel Bruna’s spirit to ask for something to eat while watching.

“Snackos? Smithele told me those are bad for my health, but he can’t tell me what to do.” Esperanza must’ve seen Snackos while exploring the world. You didn’t know they were that old.

Anyway, Snackos! You get… 1 package. What a cheapskate.

“Can I get something to drink too?” You ask the all-powerful judge. “It’s important to stay hydrated.”

“Yeah, I know.” Esperanza creates a bottle of water for you! “You want a seat too, huh?”

“That’d be great!” You smile.

“Sit in front, I don’t care if they see or not anymore.” Esperanza evaporates the invisible wall. You sit on the jury stand.

Down below, the two competitors are measuring each other up before the fight begins…

Buahehahihihihihihi!” Leo Watty extends his arms like a big doofus as his laughter takes control. “Cocky? You have no idea what you’re dealing with, you mere mortal! I’m the Remorseless Beast Incarnate who has forsaken all love and friendship in all realms! The name is Leo Major. The honor is all yours.”

“Major Leo? The cartoon?” The girl knows where Leo’s name comes from!

“N-No, you’re gravely mistaken. In that fool’s play, the so-called hero used the power of friendship to save those around him. I, on the other hand, reject the notion in its totality – and my power comes from solitude, and—”

“You’re simply a clown.” The girl interrupts. “Today won’t be the day I finally met a sane flame user.”

“Hey, don’t interrupt a man’s speech before a battle!” Oliver drops the act at last. “You know how angry that makes me? Not much. But you know how much anger I’ve been bottling up? How much I have to keep inside myself so my new allies don’t see that side of myself? Of course, you don’t, but you’re going to. When you keep pushing that anger down and down, it starts accumulating, and eventually… it pops. Time to make a bang.” Oliver pulls out his entity: Nekomotor.

“You’re just another lunatic using his unfounded anger as a way to intimidate.” The girl stands proud. “Tell me, clown. Do you know anything about boxing?”

“It’s not my favorite, but yeah, about as much every countryman should know.” Oliver humors the girl’s question.

“There’s a new prodigy making his way to the league, at a pace that seems to rival El Macho’s own when he started. My dear friend: Koh.” She smiles thinking about the past.

“What? Is he coming over to help?” Oliver pretends to be scared by looking around.

“If he could, he would. But since that isn’t the case, I’m going to show you why he was the weakest among my group of friends.” The girl seems ready for combat, but she doesn’t summon her entity yet.

“Group of friends? In that case, I’m going to make you meet mine.” Oliver is waiting for Esperanza’s signal.

“Remember: the winner gets a prize. Now, are you two ready...?” Esperanza shouts from her megaphone.

Both competitors nod.

The match is about to begin…!!!

You open your bag of Snackos and wait for the fight to begin, with little excitement but a lot of anxiousness inside – like being invited to watch a movie you never heard about before. You’re a spectator with little expectations.

…You can go now.” Unceremoniously, Esperanza makes the battle officially go underway!

But neither fighter makes the first move.

“Tell me, how much do you know about enigmas?” The girl doesn’t let her fighting stance go.

“Why are you asking now? We have to fight.” Surprisingly, Oliver isn’t the one who starts with a cheap shot.

“This is our only chance to talk. After I defeat you, I don’t think we’ll have the pleasure.” There’s heavy handed irony in the way she pronounced the last word. “And if it isn’t to the death any longer. I want to know about your character. As in, your personality.”

“Are you preparing a move or something?” Leo Major has figured something out, presumably. “Doesn’t matter. Talk as much as you want, I’ll win anyway.”

“These two are annoyingly chatty…” Esperanza isn’t pleased with the show.

“It adds to the drama.” You respond to give them time to talk.

“You see, most flame users I have encountered think enigmas have one ability. The truth is, they have two.” Hat girl shows two fingers. “I’m sure you are already intuitively aware of this. One is passive, we can use it without our enigmas by our side, like enhanced hearing for example, contradictory enough most of these have to be activated by us – this is often referred to as its only ability.” The girl puts her fingers on top of her lips. “The second ability shows up when they’re invoked: It’s their body. Some can fly. Some can move faster. Some can cut steel. They bring their unique physique, weapons and morphology.”

“What are you getting with this?” Oliver likes a monologue when it’s less informative.

“There are drawbacks.” The girl puts both hands to the side. “Our minds subconsciously modify their bodies to our whims; some enigmas end up with forms and abilities that don’t suit them. But more importantly, it takes a lot of willpower to have them invoked by our side. A lot of power that could strengthen our passive ability. What I am trying to say, bringing them out is not always optimal.”

She starts walking forward.

“Now you’re going to face me?” Oliver gets into a defensive position.

I already won.” The girl smiles as she pulls a shiny piece of paper from her sleeve.

A weirdly shaped sheep comes from the ground below Oliver and tackles him upwards, suspending him in the air! It got him where it hurts the most!

MY BALLS!” Oliver shouts like the 3rd rate villain he’s trying to portray himself as.

“Goat powers?” Esperanza didn’t understand what happened.

Philonune explains to you that a symbol appeared on the ground below Oliver that summoned the goat’s attack! You noticed a light coming out, but never saw the symbol in full as you were distracted by the cheat girl’s monologue. Your partner doesn’t think these are goat powers, as the animal already disappeared.

Oliver’s body hits the ground, both of his hands are preoccupied helping what’s left of his family pride. Nekomotor disappeared.

“Call it quits now.” She has no intention of hurting him more.

Agggh…” Oliver is in too much pain to say anything.

“Should I do the 10-count?” Esperanza asks the boxing expert. In this case, that’s you.

“I mean a referee should be down there doing it.” You don’t want her to scream into the megaphone from here. You’ll end up deaf!

“I have an idea.” Esperanza snaps her fingers.

Her stupid Jellyfish referee shows up on the ground and starts doing the count! You had a hunch she was the one who made them, but why jellyfishes…?

“Stay down…” The girl doesn’t care about Oliver’s opinion now that the Flying Referee showed up.

“I won’t give up yet!” Oliver tries to stand up, but with another move below him – some sort of limbs appear to cover him entirely to not let him escape. “BLALBLALlbahgh…” They even covered his mouth…

“I told you to stay down.” The girl sighs.

Big claws go through the strange limbs, forcing them to retreat back into the ground. Whatever this is, it didn’t cause any damage to the girl. With nothing holding him down, Oliver barely beats the count.

“Tasted like paper…” Aside from the nails of his hand and teeth, Oliver made his teeth grow too somehow. He’s like a poorly drawn saber-toothed tiger! He retracts all of them.

“That’s your power? You can make your bones grow?” To say Hat Girl isn’t impressed would be an understatement.

Buahehahuhihi… As if I’d tell you…” Oliver poorly hides his secret. “If that’s everything you have, and your flame is too weak for a one-on-one fight, you’re dead…” Oliver starts running towards the girl in pursuit for his final (and first) attack! Nekomotor is by his side again.

“I never said my enigma was weak.” The girl’s enigma appears from behind Oliver. The horrible creature that lacks details pulls Oliver into the ground until only his face is visible…

“W-W-What the fuck…?!” Oliver doesn’t understand what happened.

“Count it, referee.” The girl isn’t amused by her victory. To her, it was never in doubt.

“You can’t do this!” Oliver complains.

“Be thankful I left your face out to let you breathe.” The girl isn’t amused by Oliver’s tantrum.

“No! I’m still standing at the moment, you can’t count me out!” Oliver is bullshitting so hard at the moment.

“He’s got a point, he might be.” Esperanza believes this is true as she shouts with her megaphone. The Flying Referee stops counting accordingly.

“He obviously isn’t! And this isn’t how boxing works!” The girl turns her face to complain to Esperanza.

“This is her big mistake, partner.” Philonune announces.

The girl gets stabbed behind her back by Oliver’s massive upper fangs, he seems to control the way they grow…

Fugh giu.” Oliver eloquently retorts.

“Agh… Ngggh… This isn’t…” The girl touches her waist to see blood coming out. She starts feeling lightheaded, she loses balance but doesn’t immediately drop onto the floor until Oliver’s fangs come out of her.

The Flying Referee counts the poor girl out of the fight… Oliver is declared victorious despite being buried in the ground!

The Flying Referee takes Oliver out of the ground, then goes to the girl and heals her wounds somehow…

“Good job, everyone. Woo.” Esperanza was barely amused by the fight. She turns the megaphone off and turns to you. “Did you enjoy it?”

“No.” You jump off the Jury stand and make your way to the ring as fast as you can. This level of senseless violence doesn’t do a thing for you! You need a little more sense and less stakes to properly enjoy it… Better if it doesn’t involve innocent people.

No…?” Esperanza didn’t like that response. Not because she felt personally insulted, but probably because she feels something was lacking. “Hey, where do you think you’re going?”

“To check on them.” You retort as you jump down with Philonune’s help.

“You should’ve told me.” Esperanza snaps her fingers. You and the competitors are floated back into the Jury stand you were watching the match n. Seemingly with the help of the Flying Referee.

Wiiii…!” Oliver enjoys being dragged through the air. Naturally, you arrived first to the stand since you were closer, sitting there, staring at how dumb Oliver looks. You wonder why she didn’t teleport you all or something. And yes, the girl is being dragged along.

Oliver is now sitting next to you in the jury stand, while the girl’s unconscious body lays in front on the table.

“Take a good look at them and tell me if they’re wounded.” Esperanza says as a challenge. She thinks you’re being a little melodramatic. If you happen to be exaggerating, you blame Nariko and her cheap dramas.

“Hey, why are you here?!” Oliver never noticed you until now.

“I should ask you the exact same thing.” You frown. “Congratulations on winning though.” You sincerely tell him as you look at the wound on the girl. She’s fine, only bloodstains on her.

“Thanks!” Oliver is proud of himself.

“Check on him.” Esperanza demands. “Check on the acquaintance you never disclosed. You’ll later tell me why he’s in the anomaly, and why you kept that information from me.”

“Okay. You okay, Oliver?” You ask.

“I’m as good as a sweater being cleaned with the rest of the laundry.” Oliver makes no sense.”I think I can’t have children anymore though.”

“I thought his name was Leo Mayo.” Esperanza frowns.

“It’s complicated.” You respond. It’s not, it’s stupid.

“I-It’s Major.” Leo points out.

“Is he good or not?” Esperanza demands you to answer.

“I think so.” You’re no doctor.

“Not counting the never-ending horrors in my life. Yeah, I feel peachy.” Oliver smiles.

“Then to the back he goes.” Esperanza makes him float back to the ring… She grabs the megaphone. “Go backstage.”

“W-Why not leave me by the entrance?!” The victorious man shouts back.

Shut up.” Esperanza doesn’t care. Oliver begrudgingly starts moving along until you can’t see him anymore.

“What’d you do that for?” You’re more confused than annoyed.

“I don’t want him to listen to what I’m about to say.” Esperanza isn’t interested in messing too much with her own schemes to please you.

“…” The girl wakes up into a cold sweat. “I’m not…?”

“You’re not dead. Welcome to the losers’ corner.” Esperanza snaps her fingers to make the girl float right into the seat next to yours. Hey, you’re not a loser! “Your life was never in danger. You would’ve returned to your actual body if you perished.”

“It felt real…” The girl feels a shudder going through her body. “I thought for sure I was gone…” Tears begin forming on her face.

“It’ll be the closest you’ll ever feel to dying until it actually happens.” Esperanza says it nonchalantly.

“Why didn’t you tell me my life wasn’t on the line?” The girl is mad as hell.

“I wanted you to fight as if your life depended on it, duh.” Esperanza didn’t feel like she needed to explain it, but this goes for the both of you. She now locks eyes with you. “I told you to trust me.”

“What a pitiful way to lose.” The girl facepalms, half-embarrassed, half-mad. Tears wiped out.

“Are you feeling better?” You ask.

“I have nothing to say to you, Judges.” Wait, the girl thinks you’re one of them?

“I’m not a Judge. Just a disgruntled guest.” You shrug. “I’m Phil. Nice to meet you.”

“Yes, don’t let his deformed face confuse you, he’s only Phil and has no affiliations with any of us, loser.” Esperanza still dislikes the way your head is formed. She’s wrong, but you can’t say you’re Constance’s guardian of sorts.

“D-Deformed…?” Where is your bag when you need it?!

“Are you mocking me?” The girl is annoyed.

“Moving on, yes, the show was unsatisfactory. But if I make the Flying Referee explain the rules beforehand and keep my interference to a minimum, I believe the next round shall be much more entertaining.” Esperanza has another round planned.

“Another fight?” You didn’t expect more of this weird event.

“Yes, I must make it up to you. It’s a Test Tournament of 4 participants.” Esperanza reveals the whole plot. “Leo Mayo went to the finals. Simple enough, right?”

“I… don’t know if this works for me.” You don’t know what to say.

“Oh? Interested in participating? I can make the arrangements.” Esperanza wants your face being blown to bits.

“No, I just want more Snackos.” You need to wash out the bad taste in your mouth with more food.

“Good. I like when things go according to plan.” Esperanza brings more Snackos for you.

“By the way, you want some?” You offer to the psychopathic girl.

“Sure.” Esperanza grabs a bunch from the bag like a weasel. She enjoys them.

“You?” You now offer them to the girl.

“No, thanks.” She rejects the offer in an instant.

“C’mon, you know you want to…” You shake the bag with an awfully low number of Snackos.

“I had holes go through my body; I’m not prepared to eat anything.” She puts a hand over her body.

“Happens to the best of us.” You continue shaking the bag.

“What do you mean?” She stares at you befuddled.

“I thought I died once too.” You show her the scars on your chest.

“W-What in the world happened to you?” The girl is in shock upon seeing what a certain Kitty did.

A bear.” You smirk.

“You making a fool out of me…?” That’s a long way for her to say she doesn’t believe you.

“Girl, we’re flame users. Take a guess.” You frown.

She frowns back. “I’m not a girl.”

“I see.” You won’t react for now.

“My name is Jesse.” Jesse didn’t like your mistake.

“Hello there, Jesse. I’m still Phil.” You pretend nothing wrong happened. “I’m sure you’re acting out because you went through a traumatic experience, so I’m gonna be understanding and stay quiet.”

“…Don’t be.” Jesse sighs. “Just keep talking, it distracts me.”

“Distraction, you say? How about some entertainment instead? Bring on the next contestant.” Esperanza uses the megaphone to interrupt your conversation. “Come on out.”

Once again, the venue’s lights focus on the entranceway! A friendly face shows up from the curtains! It’s Little Fiora!

“Do I make my way to the ring?” Fiora asks the Judge girl. Who nods.

“F-Fiora…?!” You mutter under your breath. She has no flame!

“Hmph, our judges are capable of making everyone fight.” Philonune doesn’t like the lack of ethics.

“That’s a child!” Jesse heckles Esperanza.

“So? She’s a more capable fighter than you, loser.” Esperanza will let the child fight for her entertainment.

“You’re out of your mind.” Jesse doesn’t have the expletives to use.

“A person I trusted once said I never had one to begin with.” Esperanza isn’t surprised by the vile reaction she’s getting. “Enough with your complaints, she agreed to do this.”

“Concerned voices! Do not worry, I requested to be here!” Fiora smiles towards you too.

“We’re distorted to her.” Jesse notices.

“Unless you cross the barrier, yes. Same technique we use during the meetings to conceal your identities.” Esperanza explains. That explains why she wasn’t keeping you behind for long.

Fiora sits on the top of the turnbuckle, waiting for her opponent.

“They already know they have to fight?” Jesse asks the overseer.

“Yes, I sent a Flying Referee to explain the rules.” Esperanza isn’t making the same mistakes again. “Now, onto her opponent!” She shouts from the equipment.

[HAEIOU HAEIOU HAEIOU]!!!” Someone drops from the rafters and lands perfectly in the center of the ring, laughing his laugh off. It’s a person in an astronaut suit with a light jester motif… “GREEETINGS! Earthlings, I have arrived! [HAEIOU HAEIOU HAEIOU]!!!”

“W-What in the world?” Jesse can’t believe this… it’s an alien! Wait, no, astronauts aren’t aliens! This is what happens when you make love to a Tomato, their fringe fears get into your mind!

“Or outside of it.” You deadpan.

“NO MUSIC FOR MY ARRIVAL? NO PRESENTATION? This mission lacks [flair].” The astronaut is mighty disappointed. You don’t see a flame on him, probably due how thick the suit is. “AND THIS? You’re my opponent, little girl?”

“Please don’t hold back!” Fiora smiles.

“ABSURD! I make children believe in their dreams, not beat ‘em out of ‘em!” The astronaut cannot deal with this moral dilemma.

“If you don’t fight, you’ll be punished.” Esperanza brings out the megaphone to clarify.

“I, GALACTIC CALAMITY, REFUSE TO HURT LITTLE CHILDREN. I know this isn’t the way to cross the [Venus Line].” The astronaut spouts a really familiar last name.

C-Calamity…?” You and Jesse say in unison. You stare at each other after saying it.

“My name is Fiora Kobashi, and I’m way older than you think.” Fiora tries to calm the astronaut down. Woah, adoption papers really go fast in the past. “Fight me with all your potential.”

“STOP! You’ll have to provide me with some evidence. TELL ME, do you know what a [pee pee] is?” The astronaut starts jumping in place.

“I’d like not to answer if that is possible…” Fiora is a little uncomfortable with the question.

“FAIR ENOUGH.” Calamity knows he mustn’t cross a line. “You still have to provide me evidence that you’re just a [vertically challenged earthling].”

“What’s a pee pee?” Esperanza is confused.

“Huuuh…” You don’t want to answer that.

“Let’s focus on the fight instead, please.” Jesse wants to change focus.

“See? Even you want to see the child fight.” Esperanza smirks.

What do you do?!

The match is not starting. No matter what Fiora says, she can’t convince Galactic to partake in it.

“This is our last chance; you’ll be severely punished if you keep refusing.” Annoyed by the delay, Esperanza lets everyone know that refusing to beat the child will bring a worse fate than child abuse. “Don’t take it lightly.”

“Over the years, many in this solar system have learned that MY WILL IS [UNCORRUPTIBLE]. I even forsake reaching the [Venus Line] to stick to my beliefs. My decision is final: I won’t bring harm to any of the kids of earth.” Galactic refuses to hurt little Fiora.

“What? Don’t tell me you can’t beat a mere child?” Esperanza tries to manipulate the illogical astronaut.

“I know how to fight children, I used to be a [Daycare Teacher].” Galactic Calamity retorts.

The little girl raises her hand, asking permission to talk. Esperanza grants her the floor.

“What if we change the rules? If you manage to touch me, I’ll concede defeat.” Fiora nods her head.

“[Little Ms. Fiora]! Fairness is a nebulous concept, but under all considerable parameters, the playfield would be uneven in my favor – and I refuse to have an advantage.” Galactic considers it, even if he ultimately refuses.

“It won’t make a difference for me. If you reach me under any circumstances, I’d lose the match regardless of the rules.” Fiora confesses she has little ways to defend herself.

“I UNDERSTAND. But, to make this mission more enjoyable, I WILL ONLY BE VICTORIOUS IF I PAT THY HEAD IN UNDER A MINUTE.” The former daycare teacher raises one finger.

“Make it 3.” Fiora smiles. She thinks she’ll have it too easy.

[HAEIOU HAEIOU.] WE HAVE REACHED A DEAL.” Galactic is happy to go along now.

“Stick to the rules!” Esperanza is annoyed at these changes as she continues shouting from her megaphone. “Agh, they’re gonna do whatever they want, aren’t they?”

“Took you too long to understand.” Jesse shakes his head.

“It’s better if you don’t annoy her, she’s kinda petty.” You give the effeminate boy advice.

“I can hear you both.” Esperanza pouts.

“I know.” Jesse has no fucks left to give.

“By the way, where do you know the Calamitys from?” You’re interested after seeing Jesse’s reaction from earlier.

“You like them?” Jesse asks back.

“I guess I do.” You like their joyful attitude, weird laughs, and their big muffins.

“Then I have nothing to say to you.” Jesse won’t open up easily. He’s quite the hard case, huh? You’ll have to find a way to make him spill the beans.

“Are you ready…?” Esperanza is not one bit excited anymore.

“Yes!” Fiora gets in position!

“READY FOR THE SIGNAL!” The astronaut is ready to show the crowd what he’s all about.

Okay, go.” Esperanza sounds a little more energetic seeing that these two are willing to duke it out now.

Galactic Calamity jumps into the air, feet away from the ground – he wants to finish this here and now…!

But sadly, this is all we have for this week’s thread! Thanks for playing and see you next time!
