Recap:You are Ookami, a fox working what you thought was a dead end office job in Japan. Your life still felt mostly empty besides the endless cycle of work, sleep, repeat. Recently you've decided to make some meaningful decisions or at least to make the best of the place you find yourself. You've pushed yourself to work harder towards a promotion and started being more social. While you've totally enjoyed your newfound friends it's put you in some tougher situations to navigate and started to make you reflect on and confront some of your past. The short of it is you used to be a bastard. You hurt people and made a lot of bad decisions that culminated in your parents kicking you out, eventually you managed to drag yourself back out of the pit with a newly found deep sense of empathy and an appreciation for all the opportunities you had and wasted. You've managed to combat the guilt and navigate these new challenges well and even find yourself on a date with Fenneko, a cute and snarky office gal. You've bonded a fair amount by being wing-canids for another mutual friend Haida and have had a date now while a second is planned soon. On the work front you have a interview for a promotion lined up although you'll be winging that to a degree and you've been offered the position of hosting the upcoming office party

You catch up to Fenneko outside and walk home together for the most part, you chat a bit about how the week has been and and fill her in a bit on the fact that you might be up for promotion. She's not very impressed with that but you know her work ethic. You bring up the date she mentioned the other day at work and suggest Yoga, she screws with you for a bit about what you're implying with that before letting on that she's just messing with you. You give her the details and she agree's although it may not be her favorite idea. Just let her know what night you wanna go and she'll come if she can but she can't make it tonight. You continue the walk in silence for a bit, just enjoying each others company and then split off to head to the gym, checking in to the class and getting to it. Some of it's still a bit tricky for you but that's par for the course with learning new things, your usual co-workers are there as well if you wanted to catch any of them during a break or after

You text Fenneko a bit during the break to lock down the time for the aquarium date and settle it for the afternoon on sunday so you'll have a good window to eat before or after. After that you try to strike up a conversation with the instructor but he's not much of a conversationalist and seems to be insistent that you need some protein. You suppose it's good advice and there's something about his demeanor that's a bit reassuring almost like you've experienced with Ton at times. He could be a good source of advice when you need it. The break ends and you get back to it, some of the positions are still a bit odd for you but you're getting used to it and by the end feeling pretty good and oddly enlightened

You decide to talk to Washimi and Gori for a bit on the way out, Retusko doesn't happen to be there tonight but they're more than happy to talk to you. They have more questions about Retsuko than anything at first but after picking your brain a bit on her and how she's doing. Once the information runs out in that regard they're make some more comfortable general conversation with you trying to figure out the deal with the instructor. They don't have much more to tell you other than he's definitely a bit eccentric but he's the best around and his results speak for themselves. You do learn from them that he does have a 'interpreter' sort of, she's probably your next best bet on learning more. They mention they were going to get something to eat on the way home if you wanted to join them, Gori seems a bit surprised by the offer but Washimi says it's a good chance to network and you swear you saw her give you a wink

I'm sure she knows about us trying to get a promotion. She might talk to us about that, or maybe she's just trying to get us to tell her about why we don't like heavy metal, or otherwise help her out in the future.
Gori being surprised probably means that Washimi criticized us when Retsuko told them about us.
Either way, she's definitely trying to play us/butter us up somehow.

Who knows, I could be overanalyzing this and she only wants to see get a feel for our personality.

Maybe if we get the promotion we can use some of the bonus money on making a donation to the soup kitchen :)

You go out to eat with the pair and it's mostly uneventful besides you feeling like your getting a minor interrogation especially about your healing bruise, it boils down to curiosity more than anything else though and you ask your fair share of questions in return anyway and figure a bit out about the hierarchy of things. It's nice to have a meal with some acquaintances as well but you excuse yourself politely so that you don't overstay your welcome with the pair and so you can make it home at a reasonable time. You wish them a good night and make the journey home and hit the sack soon after making it there. The usual alarm blares in the morning getting you up to start the day

Sounds interesting, it might be possible (but very hard to do, since she probably won't be smitten with Haida as in canon). Though I'd only be down for introducing them if we say in passing about how we're already in a relationship. And I don't want us to seem like we're trying to push them together.
Though full on wingmaning for them to get together might be a bit too much, since we already have a lot on our plate with the promotion, dealing with our past, wingmaning for Komiya, and Fenneko.

You head up with Haida and do a bit of catching up, there's not a ton new with him or stuff that you could share thats appropriate for a public work space though so you settle back in to the regular topics until you get an idea, you spot Inui in the crowd again and nudge Haida getting him to take a peek at her. You mention you could make an introduction, if he's interested. He appreciates it, says there's nothing wrong with her but then he trails off a bit and you get the idea until he mentions it's not like he has anything going on in that regard anyway. Still, he admitted she's attractive, there's a shot at playing matchmaker there if you want to. You mention your thinking of a boys night and he seems down, although he might regret not asking who that involves later. Just tell him a time and place. You make your way to your desk to get settled before things pick up around the place

You spend most of your morning working and it's fairly easy to get things settled, you buy yourself some time to grab a copy of the company rules and skim through them incase anything comes up in the meeting. You find a few things that will probably help you and prime yourself a bit on the mindset and some wordage you can try to slip in. You're still a bit carried away reading when lunch rolls around and only realize the time when Fenneko calls you a nerd for working so hard

You get up to head to the lunch room with Fenneko taking the chance to retort back to her and get a bit of banter in for the day, it definitely helps to make your day more enjoyable and you consider it worth it since your well past caring about any gossip. The lunch room is very active today, Retusko and Tsunoda are bickering about something while Fenneko takes a seat with Haida. Komiya is trying to have a conversation with Kabe about some work that's going to be distributed to a new hire but is getting increasingly agitated as trys to get some dirt out of him

You sit with Komiya and Kabe and edge your way in to the conversation carefully, Kabe is chomping at the bit to question you but this works a bit to your advantage since you're able to free Komiya up to say what he was trying to. You find out a bit about the new person, they're pretty young and expected to be a pretty good addition to the team and they'll probably be getting some of your easier work (If) You get the bump. One Komiya has that out of his system he relaxes a bit and you get more of a chance to guide the conversation

You indulge Kabe by asking her how her family is doing and that works pretty well to get her on a tangent, you quickly find yourself being buried under stories and pictures of her children and husband while she dotes on them but it's honestly a bit endearing even though it touches on a bit of a sore spot for you. You change the topic and ask her about her about some conspiracy she'd mentioned before that Mt. Fuji is a hologram and this sends her on another tirade that prompts Komiya to make his exit while giving you a look like you're insane for asking, it eats up a good portion of lunch but she has some fairly convincing points if you look at them from the right angle. After she wraps that up she gives you a bit more of a earnest look and asks if somethings bothering you, maybe it's the general sense of stress about the promotion or she picked up on something else with her motherly senses

You consider opening up to her about your personal life for a moment but decide not to, the work stuff you've got going on is more pressing at the moment anyway so there's some truth to it when you tell her that's what's bothering you. You tell her that you're confident about the work for the most part but you're still just a bit nervous about the unknown and the interview you've got coming up. With just a GED you might not meet the technical requirements. Kabe is a bit surprised by that but does her best to assuage your fears, Ton probably wouldn't have backed you in the first place if he thought it'd be a waste of time and even though you don't talk much she notices how hard you work and that you're one of the first people to offer up help when you can (Even if you have a slight bias sometimes) There's more to it than just being smart and you're able to handle the work on top of being good with people. You feel better after talking that out with Kabe, not everyone might think like that but it's nice to hear and peps you up for selling yourself on your strong points. You thank her and take care of your trash before heading back to the office

After that you knock out the rest of your work which isn't much giving you some more time to check in with Haida, you plug away at some of his work while catching up a bit, he's doing fine as far as you can tell. you could press him some more on Inui or maybe plan something else unless your just feeling some chit chat

You shrug and take it in stride, nothing worth getting upset over and you settle in to chill with the pair for awhile, you have some fun talking a bit of trash about stuff that's been annoying through the work week and catching up on some music Haida recommends and Fenneko's trolling escapades including another guy she managed to track down off of a seven week old reciept in one of his photo's which still creep Haida out.

You fill Fenneko in on some of your admittedly less impressive trolling attempts but she doesn't mind, she find it funny either way. You score a few extra brownie points by exaggerating it a bit and creeping Haida out further with Fenneko joining in and giving you some fresh tips that you put in your pocket for later. You bring up a couple of drinking games you could play, nobody is too deep in so you've got plenty of leeway with your choice of game, Fenneko is quite eager and Haida doesn't mind the opportunity to drink more, you each start tossing some suggestions around

You start off by selling your friends on quarters, Haida knows how to play but Fenneko doesn't and you get a little smug with the opportunity to get some revenge on her for her earlier ribbing as you explain the game. Your history of degeneracy gives you a bit of an edge over Haida as well once you start playing as well, doubly enjoying their shock and how long you can get a quarter to spin. It becomes more of a competition of them against you with the two of them trying their hardest to keep the coin spinning in whatever way they can when they do manage to put you in the position to drink. You finish up the game triumphant but everyone win's in the end now that you're all decently drunk while laughing and chattering away. Sorry about missing a day, new job kicked my ass
You talk it over for a second while remembering that one of your goals for the night was to remind Haida that the friendship between the three of you isn't going to be impacted, he's initially resistant stating that the music is lame and a couple of other excuses but getting another drink in him and enough pestering from you and Fenneko draws him out just to shut you up. Haida's moves aren't bad and once he builds up a little confidence and cut loose you can tell he's enjoying himself. Fenneko is surprisingly bad but her confidence makes up for it for the most part. You aren't particularly experienced yourself but your penchant for poetry and yoga feed in a little lending you some fluidity and creativity. It's fun, you've been pretty open to these friends but letting your guard down completely and doing something like this is nice and by the end you can tell it was probably what Haida needed as well. You head back to the table for a breather and take advantage of the momentum to get the final wedge you need in with your empathy and fully dislodge any concerns he has about your friendship. Meanwhile Fenneko orders another round of drinks before you can protest, It's getting late but it'd be a shame to call a night like this. On top of all that you swear you may have just recognized one of the guys who tried to mug you

I almost want to fully investigate, but like the other anons said it's not really why we're here.
Maybe we could do a bit of real life sleuthing, come back to this bar and ask around about him. Hell, maybe we could even get Fenneko to help with that. Sounds like something she'd enjoy.
And now that I think about it it's a bit surprising that Fenneko did a pretty good call socially with the dancing. Must be a bit of Ookami's empathy rubbing off on her lol.

Don't worry about missing a few days man, I know how it is with the QM's curse.

Thanks for understanding!

You finish up your drink and between your inebriation and the others you don't have much trouble convincing them to split a taxi, you roll the windows down to enjoy some cool night air while Fenneko put's Haida in the middle to have a last bit of fun pestering him on the ride home. They get dropped off first and you wish them a good night happy to know they made it home safe and before you know it you're plopping down in your own bed, you fading fast but in your drunken state you wouldn't mind sending some saucey texts or finding something else to attempt until you do pass out

You head to the kitchen to get as much water and food down as you manage to help with the inevitable reckoning of tomorrow belting out as much of 9 to 5 as can while you stumble and between sips and munches but before you know it you're waking up in a heap in your bed, a little past your alarm. Thankfully the hangover has been mitigated somewhat although you have to shield your eyes from the light a bit

I've lost track in my notes of the date so yes

You shower in some hot water making sure to douse your head for a bit to help knock out the headache you have coming on and rush to make some breakfast after to avoid being late before realizing that you don't have an alarm set for today since it's Saturday and you're safe anyway, you relax a bit and sit back down for a bit while chilling and tossing around some ideas on how you could spend your off day.

Current day: Saturday

My reasoning is that there's a chance Haida's hangover might be over by the time we do some of these things. Besides it's been a while since we've been to the gym.

After skimming through the archive, I think it actually is Saturday. I'm assuming that's why anons were alright with drinking so late at night too.

You start off your day with some internet browsing while touching up on your trolling while trying out some of Fenneko's tips and texting her for notes. You follow that up with a bit of gaming, you don't really keep up with games too much but do have a couple on your old laptop that you enjoy killing a bit of time with and get a bit of a morale boost from the enjoyment. Once that's done you shoot Haida a text asking him if he wants to hit the gym or just hang out in general, he's not sure he could handle another night out after last night but he'll keep you posted. While you wait you burn the rest of your afternoon doing some outrospective writing and making good use of your fancy calligraphy set. Your phone buzz's and it's Haida letting you know he's out tonight, he's sorry but he needs to catch up on some chores and take care of a few other things.

You text Komiya asking him if he'd like to meet you at the gym and get ready to head out yourself while you wait for a reply. He agrees and you head out to get there, he's a bit late so you get a few of the routines in that have been neglected due how busy you've recently been. You take a break to get Komiya checked in and catch up a little while you plan out what to do next. He's mostly gushing about the developments with Tsunoda, it's a bit endearing at first but too much of that could quickly become grating

You put Komiya through his paces and are caught off guard with how well he's doing, he's seemingly taken your advice to heart possibly to impress his new gal or maybe even you. You slowly push him out of the comfort zone and feel a bit of pride in the progress you've made in the end. You spend a little more time just chatting and finishing up your own routine and wrap things up by telling Komiya he did well, his brown nosing makes a little more sense when you see how much he lights up at the praise.

I think we've had enough. No point in making retsuko watch us be our buff self again when we already rejected her.
>>

I'm not too worried. I mean, she probably knows we're with Fenneko, and Retsuko also already has a boyfriend.
I don't want to go back to avoiding Retsuko, especially since we don't really have a good reason to now.

You spend a little more time hanging out with Komiya by stopping for a bite to eat on the way home and exchange some conversation about poetry suggestions and whatever idol's he's currently in to. You wish him a good night as you part ways to head home for the night, it's fairly late and you have a date planned for tomorrow but there's still the temptation of staying awake and getting as much out of your weekend as you can.

We don't want to overextend, if it's late at night. We can always do date prep in the morning if we have to, but being half-asleep and groggy on our date isn't something as easily remedied.

You decide to just hit the sack so that you don't overextend yourself, Sleep comes fast since you managed to fill your day pretty well and tired yourself out a bit with your workout. You wake up to your alarm well rested and excited for the day, you've got a decent amount of time before you need to meet up with Fenneko. You've also got a few texts from Komiya expressing gratitude once again

Also, Does anyone know if there's a way to use the same id on mobile?

You take a morning shower and clean yourself, afterwords you cook up some breakfast and eat while flipping through your phone idly. You spend the rest of the morning after that meditating, it works pretty well leaving you pretty relaxed and ready to head out. You left yourself enough time to make it there early or do anything else you think you need to beforehand

You take a little bit of time to look in the mirror and do some extra touches that you don't usually bother to for the date and then leave so that you can get there earlier than Fenneko, it's starting to get a bit chilly out but you've been much worse off. You make it there about a half hour early and get a pretty good look at the outside, it's not too flashy but there's some cute signage of stylized animals out front. The surrounding area has been developed quite a bit with restaurants and stores as well with plenty of people coming and going , you could go ahead and buy the tickets or find some other way to burn the time

You go ahead and buy the tickets and chat with some strangers to pass the time, you have a nice time making idle chit chat but nothing really stands out until you hear someone loud and turn to see Kabe, she's quick to introduce you to her children and husband before launching in to her interrogation of what you're doing here. One of her kids isn't too shy either and equally inquisitive, asking some questions about your species innocently enough although some might consider them offensive
