Welcome to Lingdom Quest! I hope you guys had a happy new year and I apologize for not saying anything.

I don't know how to use suptg.

Summary: You are a resident of the Lingdom, a small nation who has a tradition of its youth travelling throughout the land to make Memories. You are 15 year old Rika who is traveling with her cousin Kari and friend Bubu.

Last time on Lingdom Quest...
>You have just reached your first village during your journey and decided to spend the night with the gravekeepers. Walking through the woods, your cousin Kari was spooked and held Bubu's hand tightly while he pointed at the many "ghosts" appearing around you.

You didn't know how to feel with Kari holding hands with Bubu as you wanted Bubu to hold your hands. But at the same time, you were scared for Kari who was spooked by ghosts! So you reached for Bubu and wrapped your arms around him, one of your hands reaching to his other side where it clasped with Kari's other hand. It seems that you and Kari were now hugging Bubu together, creating some triple ball of hammock packs. The three of you continued to press forward, Kari shaking and holding your hand tight, Bubu seemingly oblivious to the two of you and continued to point out ghosts without actually physically pointing at them.

Eventually you come across the Gravies' House, its exterior decorated with plenty of mementos, typically bones and skulls although arranged to look as pleasant as possible, if that was even possible. At the door you are greeted by a Pappy and Baba, who despite being surrounded by morbid mementos, beam a welcoming smile to you three, especially Bubu who they recognized. You're used to being surrounded by family, living among plenty of aunts and uncles and their Little Ones, your house housing up to 30 of you. This Gravie house was far smaller, their numbers barely surpassing 10, although this is a far larger number than Bubu's own house which was only occupied by him and his Pappy and Baba.

It is apparent that the Pappy of this house is Bubu's very own great-uncle, his baba's brother. They live with their adult child and spouse, along with all their Little Ones who have yet to come of age to travel like you, excepting one who is your age but chose to stay home instead. Her name is Puki, who is dressed in dark colors like a typical Gravie, although its rather eccentric like Kari or the Buckle Gang, wearing bracelets with teeth, all the while sporting a pair of sharp beastly fangs.

Your hosts kindly offer you food, fishcakes given to them by their neighbors from the village center. After a pleasant meal where you told the story of your encounter with the Buckle Gang, your hosts offer you posts to hang your hammocks up. Kari is a bit too spooked to sleep on her own and asks if you'd like to share hammocks for the night. Puki on the other hand offers a spot for Bubu in her hammock, a rather common custom among family members, but also to share ghost stories.

You decide to...
>Share your hammock with Kari.
>Combine hammocks with Kari, Bubu, and Puki and share ghost stories throughout the night.
>Sleep in your own hammock, Kari's a big girl.
>Write-in...

You suggested putting up your hammocks together. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough room for such one large hammock in the house due to all of the macabre memorabilia. So Puki suggested camping outside with the ghosts! Kari "eep'd!" at the mere suggestion, but she didn't want to say no and be Debbie downer. The four of you found a grove where you put up your hammocks to surround a small open space where Bubu lit a fire. Puki's Pappy gave you guys a blanket large enough to be the roof and sides of your little hammock tent of sorts. When the tent was ready, you all took your spots, although there was one empty hammock as Kari decided to sit with you instead.

Puki started with her ghost story! She tells the story of...

THE GIRL WHO NEVER WOKE UP!

There was once a Little One who liked to play as much as you and me. She didn't want to sleep because she wanted to play forever, but all her friends did not have the same energy as her. As she grew older she had to learn to labor, but it wasn't any fun as she'd rather play. But all her friends didn't want to play, they wanted to labor, so maybe it was better if she just slept all day. Her baba found her sleeping and scolded her to wake up, so the next morning she would wake up like like anybody else, but slink away somewhere secret to sleep throughout the day. First she found a tree and nobody knew where she was every day during labor for a week. When they found her they scolded her! So the next day she went to find somewhere harder to find, and climbed her house and slept on the shady side. She did this for a whole month until they found her and scolded her! Next time she went somewhere nobody would dare check, she thought, to the Amber Shrine where the Fairies collect our labor. She hid in a box every day, sleeping away without being caught for a few months until a Fairy found her and scolded her!"

"She hated every time they found her, because she didn't want to labor, but the more she slept, the more she needed it. She became grumpy even on play days, and would rather sleep all day in case somebody caught her during a labor day. But always they found her, it might take a month, once it took a year, until she got so fed up she went to find a place where nobody could ever wake her up."

"On a misty morning she left her hammock before everybody woke up for labor. She went into the woods and found a cave, one that looked spooky because who would want to sleep there? Nobody, that's why nobody would look there! She went inside the cave, her little feet pattering across the hard earth. Anybody would have been too scared to go deep, so she went deeper to never be found! Soon she could not see at all but lo, she heard the wind ahead! Just a little bit more, she thought, until she heard the wind on the floor. But as she got closer, it did not sound like the wind. It sounded like a snore. But right when she stopped moving, the snoring stopped..."[/i]

"Who woke me up? Was it you?" it said!

"This is my sleeping spot where nobody could find me! Now that you found me, somebody will come wake me up! AND NOBODY MUST WAKE ME UP!

Puki bares her fangs and hisses! Kari jumps and screams, falling out of your hammock.

Rika has a sleeping problem.

And you fall with her, your heart racing and hoping you never fall asleep again! The two of you are now shaking, holding each other in your arms. Even Puki fell out of her hammock, but only because she was laughing so hard at the two of you stumbling! You notice Bubu had been staring off in the distance to the graveyard, just gazing upon the ghosts rising from the earth, either he was completely unfazed, heard it before, or wasn't even paying attention. The good news was that Puki's Baba came with a platter of fruit. She asked the four of you if you were having fun. You weren't.

You and Kari were no longer in the mood to hear more scary stories, which disappointed Puki, and it seemed that Bubu was more interested in staring at the ghosts. You all decided to go to sleep, but under the covers, you and Kari were too scared of falling asleep. She tells you that she can stay awake for the night and make sure to wake you up at sunrise, and asks you to do the same for her the following night, hoping to rotate every other morning.

You decided to...
>Agree with this stupid plan entirely.
>Agree with this stupid plan but rotate throughout the night at periods every hour.
>Agree with this stupid plan and get Bubu involved so you guys can all have a little bit more sleep.
>Reject this stupid plan but ask if Bubu could promise to wake the both of you up since despite being a heavy sleeper, he seemingly wakes up on his own at dawn without fail.

Scared out of your wits but not willing to sacrifice any sleep, you asked Bubu to promise to wake you and Kari up every morning for the rest of your lives, afraid that you might end up like the Girl Who Never Woke. Bubu promised to always wake you and Kari up, even if that meant walking to your house every morning when you eventually return home. Puki was listening in on this conversation, so she suggested either you or Kari should get married if you didn't want Bubu to walk to your house every morning.

Kari reacted with shock and embarrassment, averting her eyes and poking the tips of her index fingers together. She confessed that she "pr-probably wouldn't mind one of them marrying Bubu..." that.

You reacted with...

You answered just as Kari did. Puki displayed a mischievous smile.

"So, Bubu... you heard the two of them, they'd love to have you as part of their family! But you can't marry them both! If you got to pick, which one would it be?"

Bubu had that dumb look to him while thinking about it.

"I don't know... but even if I marry somebody else, I'll still come visit to wake them both up!"

You felt as if a stone struck your heart, though at the same time somewhat relieved. Kari seemed to feel the same.

The next morning, as expected, Bubu woke you and Kari up... but then you went back to sleep anyway. You woke to the smell of egg cheese tacos, made by Bubu with a fire he lit just outside of your tent. Though made by Bubu, they were gifts from Puki's Pappy and Baba. After eating your breakfast, you repaid the favor by feeding the ducks. Quack quack.

You said farewell to the Gravies for the morning, promising to return tonight after your labors. Puki was known to avoid labor parties, but it seemed she was interested in you and Kari so she tagged along for the day. You walked to the village center where all the villagers gathered before being assigned their duties. The elders welcomeed you by name, recognizing that you stayed over as guests a few times as Little Ones. Even some of the Little Ones flock to you, calling you "Chi Rika". The village felt happy to receive you as guests and were happier to hear that you came to participate in their labor day.

You had fun performing normal duties like you did at home, but as the sun reached as high as it could in the sky, it was time to rest from the heat and enjoy some lunch! You walked back to the village center with other Youthies and were given mashed corn wrapped in a leaf. The elders gave you extra to take back to your posts, and on your way back you came across a chunky fox in the middle of the path. It sat there as if it was waiting for you.

You...
>Give it some of your mashed corn before heading off back to work.
>Leave the rest of your mashed corn on the path before heading off back to work.

You left your mashed corn on the path for the fat fox before you went off back to work. You continued to work the fields, planting maize seeds. Bubu was singing the dumpling song you taught him, though people were confused as the dumplings were made of rice instead of corn. Still, people enjoyed his singing voice, even if his words sometimes didn't make any sense. As the sun began to set and the sky became warm, you headed back to the village center to put away your tools. Like a good person who remembers the Great Turtle's lessons, you hang your tools on a peg, for leaving anything on the ground is considered disrespectful.

You might leave this village the following morning, but you should at least sleep here for the night. You head back to the graveyard with your friends. While walking through the woods, the ever-perceptive Bubu noticed that chunky fox following you guys. You enter Puki's house to have dinner with her family, the chunky fox waiting outside for any scraps. Puki's Baba sees the scamp and shakes her head in disapproval.

"It is good for Us to share gifts with Our friends, and even if We do not ask for any gifts in return, We shouldn't allow Our friends to become greedy for Our gifts or helpless without Our gifts.

We did not always have plenty to gift before, Our friends were satisfied with what little We could offer. But now that We live in a time of plenty, Our friends have forgotten Our kindness, and perhaps We have as well."

Though nobody here is old enough to remember, you know your Bibaba did not grow up blessed with this plentifulness, she only had one sibling. Now you have more aunts and uncles than you can count on your fingers.

The following morning you decided to move to the next village. Puki appeared before you with a hammock pack, her family essentially making her go, though she didn't seem to be as excited. Her family asks you to look after her and of course, you said yes because a Pappy asked you. Whether Puki would follow you guys was up to her.

Puki's family gives you a few corn cobs you can steam yourself on the trail. As you leave the village perimeter, you see that chunky fox again, waiting for you.

This time you...
>Ignore it and walk past it.
>Give it a whole cob because you think it being fat is cute.
>Give it a morsel, some seeds of the cob but no more.
>Give it exactly one seed, but have it eat it from your palm.

I have just started my last worldbuilding thread on /tg/, I plan on moving them to this board due to the slow traffic. Trying to keep the thread alive by posting twice per day was draining but it also forced me to write, which was helpful with keeping me rather productive. If you guys would like to add some final additions to the Lingdom, be my guest. There might be some spoilers in there but I wouldn't worry about it since it's meant to take place in a somewhat distant future.

Huh why wouldn't it get more traction there? This seems like the sort of worldbuilding they'd eat up but then again I haven't been on /tg/ in months.
>>
>>5894156
It did have lots of traction at the beggining, and for a good while it did. It just petered out. But also, i think it's because it became lots of the same stuff. Also, the maps were becoming too full, and with lots of little factions, it became harder to create new ones.

I think the main problem was that it lasted too long. Then map got filled and the setting's context got deeper which made entry more difficult. Overall I think it was a success because I always wanted to make a setting with a specific scenario that still allows people to insert their dudes while still maintaining the scenario. The next arc is meant to be a hard reset in a way and I'm hoping to provide just enough info to get anons excited again.

>>5894156
The main reason I'm moving to /qst/ is because I'll get more time to reply without fear of the thread archiving.

You couldn't resist giving this chunky fox some more food, perhaps you just thought it was cute. But Puki's Baba was right, you weren't doing it any real kindness by offering this gift, and neither was it truly appreciating every gift it received. Still, maybe it could slowly learn to appreciate what little it could have, so you held out some seeds for it to eat before heading off.

You continued on the path and as the sun rose as high as it could, you decided to take a break and sit in the shade with your friends. You came across another party of Youthies heading where you came from and decided to share the shade, exchanging Memories and snacks you earned from your labors in the previous village. After thirty minutes of hanging out, the chunky fox appeared, waiting to be fed once again. A Youthie from the other party remarked how cute the fox was for being so fat and proceeded to offer it a whole ball of salted rice.

You...
>You stop her and suggest she rip off just a bit, lecturing her on the importance of eating sparingly as the Great Turtle taught you all.

You stopped your new friend from overfeeding the fox and reminded her about eating sparingly. Are you really being nice if you have so much food to give already? Your new friend agrees and apologizes, so she ripped a bit of her riceball off before feeding it to the fox. Still, the fox continued to stare at you all, expecting more to eat, but you all resisted the temptation to give it anymore, though pats were not out of the question.

When the sun passed its highest point and the weather cooled down, you said your goodbyes to your new friends and went off. The fox stayed where you all once were, and not before long did it leave your sight. You continued on the path to the next village, but Puki suggested taking a different path to do some sightseeing. Because she knew the surrounding area better than any of you, you all agreed and followed her elsewhere.

Straying off the regular path, you followed a stream into some woods where squirrels welcomed you with some acorns you might be able to mash another time. The stream eventually enters a ravine and you come across a camp set up by other Youthies who seem to dress as eccentric as Puki; long sharp teeth, dark edgy clothes, blacked out eyes. They and Puki were familiar with each other, and although Kari was creeped out by them, Bubu seemed to not mind.

They were fishing in the stream so that they could fillet their catches themselves and eat them themselves. You know there is a specific tradition for filleting fish and this act creeped you out a bit.

"Although the fish were Ours to eat as a gift from the Great Fish, We are still saddened to draw its blood as it reminds Us of Ours. Whenever We prepare a fish to consume, We should always be sensitive and conduct Our business behind covers out of respect. It is not something to be observed by others who have no business, and is something to shield from Little Ones."

Every village has a site for filleting fish, generally avoided unless committed to filleting fish. Even your parents have gone off to the little tent to do some filleting. You have never been asked to watch and learn as that is something to be learned on your journey. These Youthies, who were as old as you, were filleting fish out in the open for their peers to watch. They seemed to be a bit too obsessed with watching, but at least they only do it when they're hungry.

Kari avoids looking at the filleting, though Bubu, being strange, watches it less with fascination but more out of curiosity for these strangers. You...
>Avert your eyes.
>Scold everybody and tell them to stop doing it so nonchalantly.
>Watch with fascination.

Although you have already eaten your lunch for the day, you decide to take a crack at filleting fish. Another peer was ready to start cutting into a fish he caught, and when you asked if you could try he offered you the knife. He squatted beside you and placed his hand over your wrist, guiding your blade across the fish. His gentle voice instructs you how to grasp the knife's handle, why the movement works, and how much strength to apply. You couldn't help but feel intimacy with this boy. This is starting to seem very much like the stories you read and write...

You...
>Continue with the instruction. He's just holding your wrist, nothing naughty about that!
>Finish with the instruction and thank him for teaching you.
>Ask if he could show be more precise by having him take your hand.
>You scurry away with a flushed face because YOUR HAND IS FOR THE BOY YOU LOVE!
>>
>>5902234
>Finish with the instruction and thank him for teaching you.
>Write in: Draw visual instructions in a small booklet for reference later.
As funny as that last option is, let's focus on getting this right. Filleting fish properly is an important skill in Ling society, let alone a Ling journey.

You finished the lesson, your cut was not the most elegant but it was a wonderful experience. Your new friends began grilling the fish while you all exchanged Memories. You shared your Memories in Puki's village where you met the chunky fox and your new friends sharing their Memories from their home.

These Youthies were from Sweet Roots, a village that specialized in cultivating sugar roots for the extraction of sugar. It was a place you always wanted to go since you were a Little one as they have the most variety of candy across the land. It seemed rather ironic to you that these Youthies enjoyed the taste of grilled fish more than the sweet delicious candies of Sweet Roots. Now that you think about it, maybe they got sick of all the sweets. They share a little secret with you about laboring at Sweet Roots:

"Everybody always wants to eat their candies as soon as possible, but you shouldn't eat them right away! When you earn your jar of syrup, hold onto it for two weeks. When you're not traveling, leave it open, but make sure you hang it somewhere high so that Little Ones don't get to it! You should stir it every hour if you can. Whenever you rest, open it and stir it a bit. After two weeks, you can drink it and although it might taste bitter, it'll give a pleasant feeling!"

You continued spending time with your new friends and before you knew it, the sun was setting. Perhaps you should stay with your new friends for the night and hang up your hammocks. For dinner, your new friends caught another fish and they asked if you'd like to fillet it. Bubu stares at the knife with fascination as if he wants to try.

You...
>Fillet it yourself but with further instruction.
>Fillet it without help to test how well you can do it.
>Let Bubu try.
>Teach Bubu yourself.
>Teach Bubu yourself (and hold his hand).

Both Teach Bubus will count as one vote. If they succeed as one, then the most of either two will be the succeeding choice.

I accidentally forgot to post this morning but I think it's time for me to say I will be posting my updates in the evening from now on. My daily routine has shifted and now it will be more convenient for me to post at that time.

This is a good way of teaching Bubu more proactively without making it awkward while getting a bit more practice ourselves. It's like we're filleting the fish together.

>Teach Bubu yourself had the most votes.
>Tie between holding hands vs. guiding him where he has trouble.

You sit down next to Bubu to help him fillet his first fish, your new friends letting you do the explaining. Kari seemed a bit more interested now, though it's more like she's nervous about the fish... or something else.

You start by teaching Bubu how to hold the knife properly, and after explaining it to him you hand it over, the knife resting on your upward palms. He brushes his fingers over your palm to take the handle. It spooked Kari a bit, and you couldn't help but feel something about it. What could it be? Bubu inserts the knife into the fish's underbelly and cuts it from head to tail. Unlike you, he didn't seem to mind hearing the strange sound of rending flesh, his reaction never once changing. Even you felt a bit disgusted just from touching the raw fish.

Bubu didn't need your help one bit, his filleting impressed all of your new friends. It was almost as if it wasn't his first time, chances are that he's helped his Baba and Pappy do some filleting before. You couldn't help but feel sad that Bubu probably didn't share his first filleting with you, whatever that's supposed to mean.

Bubu diced up the fish for all of you and proceeded to cook it while you and Kari mixed some cornflour to make tortillas for Bubu's fish. Kari asked you many questions about your experience with the knife, but in the corner of your eye, you spot that chunky fox, drawn to the smell of grilled fish. Puki caught a glance of it and she shook her head in disapproval. Good job, now that chunky fox is going to follow you guys everywhere,

The chunky fox approached Bubu while he was grilling some fish, but he ignored it for the most part, making it sit patiently. Whenever the chunky fox tried to prod its snout close to get a sniff, Bubu would tap its snout with chopsticks, making it squeal and retracting its head. It would stay in place and look timid but would try again after some time.

Bubu gave you the first batch of grilled fish, plopping it on top of your tortilla. The chunky fox's gaze followed the meat moving from the grill to your tortilla. It then locked its eyes on you.

You...
>Gave the chunky fox something to nibble on.
>Gently poke its head with your finger to make it squeal because it sounded cute, but also to let it know its behavior was unappreciated.
>Ignore it, maybe Bubu has plans to feed it after everybody else.

You shift your head left and the fox shifts his head right. You shift your head right and the fox shifts his head left. When you walk away the little guy scurries towards you and stands on his hind legs and mouth slightly open. So you reprimand the misbehaving fox and tap his head, making him squeal and scurry back to Bubu who he hides behind. Bubu pays the fox no mind, and it's only after giving out fish to everybody does he places a small tortilla on the ground topped with some fish for the fox to eat. Bubu pats the fox on the head while he enjoys the food.

You spend the night with your new friends and the next morning, Bubu wakes you and Kari up as he promised. The chunky fox was curled up in Bubu's hammock, and it was when he started roasting some chestnuts did the fox woke up. Though he stood by Bubu, he waited patiently until Bubu gave him a chestnut, receiving it before you and Kari.

You said your farewells to your new friends, and although they seemed like they would have been better company for the likes of Puki, Puki decided to continue her Youthful Journey with you. The chunky fox followed behind you, this time out in the open but closest to Bubu. Puki expressed her displeasure but hoped Bubu could teach it to stop being so fat. Kari confessed she actually thought him being fat was cute. Probably because she wished she could always eat whatever she wanted.

Now that this chunky fox was following you for good, what should you name him?

You all agree to name the fox Moochy for his propensity to mooch food from you all. You and your friends travelled on the path throughout the morning and as the sun rose high in the sky and the weather got hot, you happened upon another village; Paddy Grove. It was surrounded by rice paddies. The paddies were in the middle of being cultivated, with many ditches being turned up, but it seemed that all the laborers had gone to the village center to eat their midday meals. You entered the village and were harassed by elders to sit down and eat. You squatted by a mat with empty leaves in front of you, a baba came by and began filling up your leaves with honeyed rice. Every time she placed some rice down she would say "Eat!"

"Eat! Eat! Eat! Eat! Eat! Eat! Eat! Eat! Eat! Eat!"

Perhaps they thought you came back from the fields late and wanted you to finish eating so you could get back to the paddies for work. Moochy kept receiving food in front of him but every time Bubu picked at it to place on his leaf so he could wrap it up for later. A younger elder noticed you and your friends and your hammock packs on you. The younger Pappy asked if you had just arrived to which you all said yes, so he apologized on behalf of his mother for rushing you guys to eat. She was still putting rice on your leaves and might have been deaf. There's always tomorrow for you to commence your labors, so the pappy invited you to his house instead. Outside were many of his little ones running and playing, just like you did when you were far too young to help with the labors. A group of little girls sat under a tree, one of them reciting her writing with her friends listening on. You knew immediately that it was a "My Hand Is for the Boy I Love!" story.

After setting up your hammock inside the house with your friends, you walked outside and found yourself surrounded by those girls reading under the tree.

"See??? I told you, I told you I saw a princess!"
"Hnnnn?? But how could Chi be a princess if her ears are so big???"
[i'"But Chi's dressed so pretty she must be!!!

Let's be sure to thank whoever it was that complimented the dress, which our character probably put extensive effort into.

You tell the little ones you are a princess and that you are thankful for their Pappy's hospitality as well as thanking the little one for complimenting your outfit. Her eyes beamed with joy. The little ones excitedly talk about all the fun things they want to play with you as if you weren't there, although you can't help but notice you might have been guilty of doing something similar when you were smaller.

Of the many things they wanted to play with you, they wanted to play Tea Host the most, a game you're very familiar with. Kari and Puki had gone off to indulge in youthful fantasies, you heard that Kari was convinced by a group of little boys about a sacred pinecone they were questing for in the woods. Puki tagged along to make sure she didn't get into trouble. So you were left alone with Bubu who was never that good at playing Tea Host since he never got into character, but he also never said no to playing it.

The game was a roleplaying game much like playing house, although one played as the host, some as the guest, and everybody else as the servants. It was meant to mimic the Hammock Court, although much of it is derived from the interpretations and assumptions from stories read. The little girls wanted you to be the host and found some cups to use for cool water which they referred to as tea. The object of the game was to have the guest be received by the host to discuss their problems or good news. Although the guest has to offer some sort of thanks or gifts, the host is obligated to return the favor. However, while the guest is in charge of their own gratitude, the servants must obey whatever the host would like to reciprocate. A servant who fails to follow through with the host's requests is actually a bad look for the host for asking too much from their servants.

For the first round, you were the host and Bubu was the guest. You both did routine greetings and sat across from each other over a wicker plate carrying tea served by the little ones. When you asked what Bubu wanted or needed, he replied:

"This tea is cold... it's not even tea..."

How insensitive of Bubu! Of course, it's not real tea, these little ones aren't allowed to play with fire, he should have known better! As the host, you respond...
>"Oh dear, my apologies! Allow me to serve the tea myself."
>"Good gracious! Please forgive my servants, this is all my fault, I will make sure they serve you properly."
>"Outrageous! Did my servants make this serious mistake? How dare they embarrass me in front of my guest!"
>"Hnnn? Are you saying my servants failed to adequately serve you? How dare you insult my cute little servant!"
>"Bubu... please play along..."
>>
>>5919083
>"Good gracious! Please forgive my servants, this is all my fault, I will make sure they serve you properly."

You ask the little ones to prepare tea again. They look at you with admiration for your ability to forgive them, so they scurry off with the plate and cups. While they are gone, you turn to Bubu and ask him to pretend as if you were a real princess. With a dumb look, he blinked a few times before nodding and saying "Okay."

The little ones return, this time with a few live snails they found, considered a treat among your kind even if (You) might be repulsed by it. The "tea" now had some petals they picked from a flower. Bubu picked up his teacup and sipped from it.

"Thank you for the tea, Princess," Bubu said.

The little ones beam with joy, and you continued playing tea host the right way. The session ended when Bubu thanked you for accompanying him on his Youthful Journey, the little ones delighting in their princess being humble enough to join such a lowly commoner such as Bubu, and you allowed him to have all the snails he wanted. Moochy came by to sniff the snails but was turned away by them until Bubu started slurping them and offering some to Moochy. Moochy tried but scurried off after licking part of the snail.

You all continued to play Tea Host, rotating between roles. It was apparent that Bubu only did the role of a servant well, although he was once scolded by a little one for his too-familiar behavior toward her guest; you. At the end of the day, the village bell rang to summon all villagers and guests to the grove where you all partook in the community meal. Kari returned with the so-called sacred pinecone with a cadre of little ones following behind her calling her their boss.

At the community dinner, the little ones you played with fought over who got to sit next to you. They were too much for you to handle, but thankfully their pappy stepped in to remind them to enjoy their meals together and that they could take turns sitting next to you since you were staying at their home. So they complained at their pappy for treating you so casually. You're a princess, and their home is not befitting of one!

Such sassy little ones! You respond with...
>Scold them for disrespecting their elder, their wisdom is beyond any kind of status, even a princess's. Pappy built that house for them (as in the case of most Youthies' elders) and they should take pride in it.
>Playfully side with them and that you should find some other place to stay. (goading them to beg you to stay at their place.)
>Tell them you live in a small house with your pappy and baba too so it shouldn't be a problem. (you're still actually a princess of course!)

"It's okay ems, I live with my pappy and baba too and their house is just as big as yours," you said.

"Hnnnn???
"R-really???
"No way!!! the Little Ones respond.

Their pappy smiled and began to speak.

"That's right, Little Ones! When Big Boss drove away the meanies around a thousand seasons ago, he decided to live with Us so We helped build the very house his Little Ones still live in! Of course, his house was bigger than the houses We used to live in, Big Boss was bigger than Us after all, but these new houses that everybody's pappy and baba built are actually much larger than the ones We used to sleep in!"

"Hnn? But Pappy, when we visited the hammock, the hotel was so big! Isn't that the Emperor's house???" asked a Little One.

Their pappy laughed, "That's not his house, that's the guest house!"

Even this was new to you, you actually mistook the Hammock Hotel as the Emperor's home.

The night ended when you and your friends returned to the nice pappy's house, though the Little Ones wouldn't stop bothering you with many questions about the house you lived in. Of course, you don't know what the Emperor's house was actually like, so you just told them what your real house was like. They were nonetheless impressed with how similar it was to theirs. When you wanted to go to sleep, the Little One's parents asked them to let you rest because "the Princess has to work hard tomorrow too!"

You spent the next few days helping the village get the paddies ready for planting rice. Moochy tagged along getting muddy but also making friends with some of the bison helping with the paddies. Every evening when you returned, you spent time with the Little Ones sharing "My Hand Is For the Boy I Love!!!" stories. On the third morning when it was time for you to leave, the Little Ones cried as they didn't want you to go. They presented you with a bracelet of snailshells, collected from the many snacks they found for you and Bubu to eat, a Memory of your time as their guest (though their Baba probably helped them make it). Kari received a necklace made up of the scales of the sacred pinecone (that the very same Baba also helped make).

As you were too busy with your labors throughout the day to make a gift for these Little Ones, you instead opted to hand copy one of your "My Hand Is For the Boy I Love!!!" stories. The particular episode you gifted them was the one where the dreamy boy was...
>A Prince on his youthful journey falling in love with a village girl during a labor day.
>A Sleeping Demon learning the virtues of waking up and cherishing every moment with the girl who woke him.
>A Halfie Boy who was growing tall and had to join the Bravie Legion and leave his childhood friend behind but promising to marry her.

Rika is actually shaping up to be pretty tall for a Ling. She's just about as tall as Bubu and not as short as the other two girls; Puki appears to be walking on elevated ground here >>5911146. On a side note, I think going for a collected and observant character was the right call for the protagonist.

Let's write something thematic about the lesson the little girls learned today. I'm not so sure how open Rika would be about her fantasy boyfriend outside her circle of friends anyway.

Perhaps an episode about a not so dreamy boy guest that the MC hosted and was so courteous, it was revealed he was actually a dream Prince?

This is closer to their real proportions, I had to resize the Tallies to get them closer. I just like drawing Lings smaller and cuter. It would probably be more inline with the Ling's perspective the way how taller I usually draw Tallies.
