Ostrosk has fallen. The weakened hosts of Chaos march, dispersing in the north and the east, exhausted from their march and conquest of Ostrosk, the crow-headed sorceress roasted and her ashes scattered and her sister, still in a cage, being dragged behind by Rue'Vahn eastwards towards Chamon Dharek.

In the south, the skinwolves find the forest is occupied by orcs.

In the east, Magors ungortide, now a ragged mixture of minotaurs, thralls and ungors marches northwards through desolated wastelands of the Kislevite steppe.

In the northwest, the hordes are fording rivers, anxious to escape from the Ungols and link up with Sarls and to find refuge in Chamon Dharek or in the cold, frigid wastes of the steppe or the loathsome north.

Next turn please.

curious about the captured sorceress. Mulrog approaches Rue'Vahn in the rare moments that the other warlord is not in the monstrous form of a manticore.

"She doesnt look like much in that cage.... Her sister also didnt put up much of a fight. Did you put that wound on them. or was it someone else?" he inquires

In the far south, the skinwolves get butchered by the vicious strelsy strike, while in the west, the Sarls, lead by a ancient, yet still golden haired Sarl greets Ivan with hails and promises of fealty. "Ivan!" He says, correctly persuming whomst he is speaking to. "Sarls are bloodied by our own strife and we flee the madness of the plaguebearers who struck down from the mountains. We have lost the pass of Tyr and Suderholm is being besieged after we have lost the battle outside its walls."

Yet what is of more interest is the welcome Huffud receives as she slinks into the beast-herds of the far north. The chaos-warped grazing plains find the oblivious she-cow quickly surrounded by herds of beasts, ranging from great warbeasts to small wretches, the critters moving in as liquid.
The she-cow stops her grazing, every instinct of hers warning her. Yet her concentration is broken by a violent eruption of dirt, a totem of clay and mud and stone arising, a warped head atop it, its eyes and mouth cavernous holes, too big for the barrel sized head.
"Beast!" It roars. "Who can the gods of chaos rely upon if not you! Heal for this season, take the beasts with you and then march south to Chamon Dharek, feast on those who cannot fight, command those who can, protect its priests with your life, for it is your duty!"

>Huffud gains 90 loot if she accepts the task. Loot can only be spent to acquire minotaurs (30 loot), mammoths (40 loot) and warbeasts of the north (44 loot)

"Hail, venerable Sarl, by what name should I know you? What of your king, & his boasting before the Gods? For proven loyalty I shall grant homes within my lands, but first we must make sacrifices at Chamon Dharek."

We can take the hilltop fortifications between Mulrog's Chaos Warriors my new Berserkers, & Rue'Vahn's Manticores. Not much loot to be split, but worth it to get rid of these Kislevite bastards.

Sorry, I didn't see that question, my bad.

"Indeed. The witch tried to demand that Hangar and I swear an oath of fealty to her. I would never betray the gods, so we fought her off. She broke one of my ribs, but we left her with parting slash of our own."
The Aghol takes a moment to reminisce before turning back to Mulrog and bowing.
"I also owe you my gratitude as well. My men tell me that you finished off the sorceress when she tried to make the same demands of you and Ivan. I'm not sure if we've seen the last of her, but I feel we can all rest easier knowing that she's been defeated. Thank you."
Rue'Vahn reaches into a bag to pull out some bottles of Aesling mead to make a toast, before staring at the captive sister for a while.
"The witch spoke of her like clay that needed to be fired in a kiln. For such a supposedly important destiny, I guess she has some unique trait that would allow for a transformation which no one else could achieve. As for right now... she didn't even resist. It makes me paranoid, like it was almost too easy."
>>
Mulrog & Rue'Vahn, what are your thoughts on taking Zamak Spayenya? With it gone, their Northern Oblast will be wide open for the foreseeable future. We can encircle it with Berserks, Chaos Warriors, & Manticores. Unless there is opposition to it, I'm going to send another letter "on behalf of the Aes" calling to the Kislevite Hussars for reinforcements to strike at us across the river. If the first letter worked as it appeared, it will goad them into wiping each other out & leaving us their fleeing survivors if we're lucky...

Lanu, I really think we should start getting random amounts of loot for killing enemy units considering the arms, armor, horses, & slaves they might have. Just 1 or 2 points is still an incentive to wipe out our foes as Chaos Warriors are inclined.
>>
>>6140843
Oh man, I so want to join Huffud on this quest.
>>
>>6141016
I just want Huffud & Krant to sell me a Skaven to be one of my jesters.
>>
>>6140972
should be doable. i would prefer to not remove my chaos Warriors from downstream just yet. but a concerted effort with Infantry will have to be made.

My two bearserkers and your new two and a set of Huscarls shoudl be able to take the hill without any significant losses. we have about 10 HP to chew through. and Huscarls as well as Bearserkers are much faster than heavy infantry.

also i agree. with all the Chaos Warriors i killed. but i wont be greedy and make even more work for the QM.
>>
>>6140843
Hmmm… well, of course I’m gonna accept!
But I have 1 question- can the special armor i got earlier be taken from it’s former unit and assigned to another?

And uhhh what’s the stats of a Mammoth? Can’t find them in the last thread
>>
>>6140868
>Damn, so my wolves are dead?
Yup.
>Why is the map squared off?
I was too lazy to crop out all the Kislevite units you have no sight of.
>"Hail, venerable Sarl, by what name should I know you? What of your king, & his boasting before the Gods? For proven loyalty I shall grant homes within my lands, but first we must make sacrifices at Chamon Dharek."
"I go by the name of Lini Goldmane. As for my king, I do not know, nor do I care, for the six sons of the dead king all declared themselves rulers and pointed their daggers at eachothers throats, rather than aim them at the Nurglings who struck at us. If a king cares not for his people, his people ought to not care for him either."

>>6140972
>Lanu, I really think we should start getting random amounts of loot for killing enemy units considering the arms, armor, horses, & slaves they might have. Just 1 or 2 points is still an incentive to wipe out our foes as Chaos Warriors are inclined.
Actually, not getting rewards for killing is on purpose. Plunder without fighting is the optimal result.

>>6141153
>But I have 1 question- can the special armor i got earlier be taken from it’s former unit and assigned to another?
Sure, but I think you might not want to, as the upcoming fight will benefit from the veteran chaos warriors in dwarven armour.
>And uhhh what’s the stats of a Mammoth?
HP6 D2 M3
>>
>>6141169
>Plunder without fighting is the optimal result.

Which is damn near impossible without highly mobile units and multiple vectors of attack. I get the decision. It just doesnt seem too feasible when this is thr warhammer setting and cities will be guarded. And armies will march on a wide front
>>
Another letter is sent towards the lines of the Kislevite Hussars, the writing a cross between Kislev's own script & the runic symbols of the Norscans to sell the deception: "Lancers of Kislev, the Kurgan hordes have fled past the river to our West. We are eager to pursue, but lack the horses to run them aground. For the moment we watch them from the hills. Will you ride with us?
Thane Blekking of the Aeslings"

Mulrog, I've moved my troops so your Chaos Warriors can advance, I'll keep flanking around the hilltops to the West so that Rue'Vahn can reach them as well.

i suggest planting the Houscarls on the settlement if you dont wanna send them north. they will be more durable there and capable of killing lots of things.

and i would rather not send the Warbeasts into that meatgriner. as cavalery they will strike last and quite possibly get heavily damaged.

Huffud, stomping and yelling, will spit blood and warpstone- she accepts the offer, and is rewarded for it with an even more horrendous shape

>buy Mammoth, give it the chaos armor (the new version of Huffud, using that fancy token. I just think that’ll be fun. Surely it’ll be better than giving it to the warriors?)
>buy 2 minotaurs by putting in 10 lot of my own
>total warband is now
- veteran chaos warriors
- 5 minotaurs
- Huffud (mammoth with Gromril armor)

Greatly diminished from whence the season began, what remains of the "ungortide" continues its trick northward, in search of a lone village from which they can finally latch their teeth upon and lick their wounds. Recovery back to whence they were is a daunting prospect, and only the mercy of the Four might find favor for them to do so.

Magor can only hope that the Hound appreciates the blood he has spilled, and the Crow what efforts he has given so that his allies could achieve victory. If they have done so, so very far away.

They surely must have. For word of defeat has not reached his ears either.

Lemon + ginger + honey in warm water, water-maxxing, sleep-maxxing, vitamin D + calcium, & as much vitamin C as you can get should have you feeling better in no time.

As for Zambah, if she isn't an entirely original Chaos Deity, I'm thinking she must originate from The Elric of Melnibone mythos or perhaps even Conan/Kull/Hyboria mythos. No trace of her amongst the two dozen or so minor chaos godlings from old White Dwarf articles on the web. Could be interesting to add chaos gods from other settings as well now that I think of it, like MK or TES.

Still feeling like a dick-gnome fucked my throat, but I guess that can only add flavour to typing.

Maneuvering through the plains under the fortress is a slow process, both due to bloodied and tired warband and the many commanders in charge. Yet, it is not the only reason, as one morning, the undead chaos warrior blows on a horn, the thunder echoing through the hills. He rides through the hills, his steed making leaps and bounds which would shatter the knees and the ankles of living horses and tear their muscles and ligaments.

"Chamon Dharek calls for warhosts to come forwards with utmost speed!" The undead chaos warrior bellows with a surprisingly high pitched voice. "For the priests call for great warriors who will spill rivers of blood in the name of the four great gods of chaos!"
>>
>>6144788
soo.... can we just retire to there or do we still have to get there?

Cause if its the later i would prefer to not leave enemies in our back, holding a strongpoint.
>>
>>6144788

>>
>>6144797

>>6144798

>>6144870
Oh shit, we can retire rn?
I thought we had to march all the way back. Dang, I would have done so back when I still had a few chaos warriors left. Ah well.

In that case, yeah I'll retire. Narrative-wise it'd be to Chamon Dharek, but mechanically speaking, will that have an impact on our recruitment options + interim choices?
>>
>>6144944
That should work. If all works out perfectly then there will be no need for Mulrog to get involved. Otherwise i would like to be the one to smash through the walls and claim the head of the Garissons Gommander for myself.

Loot will probably be split 10/10/10 or 15/15 depending on how these allies wish to get paid?

its been a busy day so far. Fell out of my bed straight into the car and only now found some time to sit down and think
>>
>>6144870
Ah, thought I'd have to ride there manually. If we can retire right now then it makes most sense to do so, really.
>>
>>6144955
>but mechanically speaking, will that have an impact on our recruitment options + interim choices?
Stick with the narrative, we'll get to further points later on.
>>
>>6145177
Nice.
My remaining units are too low on HP for me to be comfortable, so I'll retire for the season and spend the winter with Sunset.
>>
So it looks like Mulrog has agreed to my plan, & no others wish to attack Zamak. Magor I assume is being time-skip-ported to besiege Kzarla?

I just need a way to get these Aeslings & Kislevites to kill each other, or at least try to cross the river. Any ideas?
>>
Rolled 22 (1d100)

>>6145494
Simple solution, I've already sown mistrust with my letters. I'll imbibe some Melnibonean dream-wine & go full Balkan Dragon-Man, OBE over to the Kislevite lancers & visit their leader in his sleep. Then I'll tell him to hurry & save the Gospodar women the Aeslings still hold captive. Tchar guide my travels, Nieglin prepare your feast!
>>
Lastly, I'll add Ivan/Stormbringer to my Bondsmen's attack upon the Ungol stronghold. May Khorne take their blood, Loesh drive mad their women, & Krom claim their mountain!

The strike on the fortress is a successful one. It is begun with a volley of arrows, javelins, rocks, bolts, darts and whatever else the hordes can bring forth, pinning the Kislevite defenders down below the lip of their fortifications. When they peer over, it is already too late and a grueling clash with thousands of Baersonlings and Sarls follows. Many men lose their lives on that bloody and faithful day, but the fate of its defenders is long since sealed.

Meanwhile, for Magor, I gave him a 7 round skip. The only question is if he wants to just barrel into the Strelsy with his minotaurs head first, or if he wants to do something else?
>>

perfect we lost nothing and gained some more loot.

It is time to retire and move to Chamo Dahrek. The gods can see what we do in their name but that does not make them any less impatient.

>>6145743
if he retreats right after into the nearby forests then barreling Minotaurs in there should be more than enough.
>>
So, for all the warlords who retired to Chamon Dharek (seems to be everyone except Mulrog and Huffud):
A shaman-priest of Chamon Dharek walks forwards to meet the incoming hosts, flanked by a pair of mummified chaos warriors mounted on their mummified steeds. He is dressed in thin white robes and does not seem to shy away from the cold whipping winds, but seems to proudly keep his chest puffed out and his powerful arms displayed for all to see. He might even have been considered a handsome man if his head hadn't been bound and elongated in his youth.
"Warlords!" He shouts with a powerful voice. "Our gods call for all of us to work together! Come inside and we can discuss it!"
Glances are exchanged between the warlords, but a moment later, they step in file behind the shaman.
"What have the gods told you, shaman?" A voice from the column of warlords is heard.
"They have told me a great strike will come at us, from every direction. Lands, both of ours and of our foes shall be burned and destroyed by great hordes of the enemy, a foe of intruders from a different realm shall invade and despoil all. Yet that is of little import compared to what shall await us should he win and take the sister of the crow face." The shaman says.
"And what shall happen if she is taken?" A voice asks.
"Then she, for she will be the one leading the attack on us, will fire herself in the sacred flames" The shaman points at the centre of the great chamber "And be reborn as powerful as she is."
"I don't understand. How can she lead an attack to free herself?" A different voice calls.
"She of the future shall lead an attack to free herself of the past from the shackles of the failure of her sister. Don't be surprised if you see her sister aswell. You may have slain her, but she is still alive and well - in the past." The shaman speaks again, leading the horde around the flames. "Wait here." He says to the warlords.
"And what happens if she fires herself?"
"She opens a portal to a different realm of chaos, not the one in which our gods reign, but the one in which her favored gods of chaos rule. Normalcy breaks down, just like it broke down in the far north and the far south, except this time, in the center of the world." The shaman says. "Does anyone have any questions?"
>Write-in

>>
>>6145747
"How much time do we have to prepare for those strikes? Will they come in the summer? Or the winter?"
>>
>>6145747
>Does anyone have any questions?

"Yes! First of all, are our gods pleased with us so far? If there's anything we're doing wrong then now is the time to correct such behavior.
Second, can we not cripple her now to weaken her future self? Surely we have some advantage here.
Lastly, what's in it for us? We are loyal to the Great Four, but we don't work for free. Devotion alone is not enough to feed our men and bolster the numbers in our armies."

(I also wonder if that elf who promised me 100 loot for keeping the sister still plans on keeping his promise, or if he was lying through his teeth...)
>>
>>6145756
It was a Knife Ear. I am sure he was lying.

Also good questions there.
>>
"Prudent questions all. What is to stop us from sacrificing her to the Gods here & now? I would ask only a small bit of her blood before the deed is done."

He turned to the other warlords, great blade of onyx cutting the air behind him from upon his belt. "It would seem more pressing threats have emerged, but I would see the Nurglites repulsed from Sarl lands, their deposed king sacrificed to the Four, & the Aeslings brought to ruin for their perfidy. To those ends, as well as to make of Praag my prize, I seek to gather allies from amongst the Norscan tribes. The Sarl chieftain who joined me, the Baerson king, the jarl of the Fjellsende, & others I shall invite to discuss our shared enemies, if this invasion does not arrive first. Perhaps one amongst you might rally the Tong or Servants of Hashut to our shared purpose."

Chests were dragged to the precipice of the blessed site, opened to reveal a vast sum. The Zar pointed at several & spoke to the Ogre-statured champion: "These treasures we took from the southlings together, I give to you, Zar Mulrog." (35 Loot)

Another question he asked of the shaman, "What can be done with the cursed gold of the Aponnians I have gathered?" (30 Cursed Loot to be split)

At the mention of the Sarls and their misbegotten king, Mulrog snorts in disgust and unconcealed hatred for the price they cost all of them during these last few weeks.

"I agree they need dealing with. I have the ear of the Baersonling Ruler and many of his men shall march under my banner in the coming months if time permits their recruting." He agrees, seeing some of the wisdom in Ivans words, blood kept just below the boiling point inside his veins, by discipline forges in steel. Though the mere thought of the witch they dragged here made his pulse quicken with Adrenaline, wishing only to obliterate her body and offer that damned skull and soul to the bloodgod to be trodden upon by the Brass Lords lowest servants

Wait, I have one more question that I completely forgot to ask:
"Why in the Eight Stars of Hell are you using undead? Necromancy is by its very nature aligned against chaos. Hammerstorm is a sacred hero for his purging of their kind, and yet you brazenly use the winds of Nagash without shame. How can we even trust you? At least give us some proof! Else how do we know you are not secretly sworn under oath to the loyalty of the bird witch?"

>>6145762
"The gods weren't pleased that you went with the crow-witch, but have changed their mind when you cleaved her into two. With that, your fortunes have turned around. As for whether we can cripple her future self, no, nor should we. We could grind her into pulp and roast her and scatter her ashes to the winds, but the very winds of future would bind her together and remake her." He flourishes his hands through the flames, throwing a handful of dust into the roaring blue flame, the particles flying through, only to converge into a hardened ceramic sphere he tosses at a random warlord.
"And besides, Tchar has other plans for her. It is not merely other gods which can intrude upon our world, we can intrude upon theirs too, should we retain the wretch for our own later use. We may be seeing a beginning of a new age and access to a new world for us to sack and ravage. Tchar has already sent me a servant here to seek her for his work."
And with that, the priests face grims.
"And as for your reward, service to the four should be enough of a reward, for you earn their favour. But alas, you youths prove yet again to be worse than your elders. There is a stockpile of loot built up here over the centuries. Take it for the hordes. And your Apponian gold can be smelted and scoured in this sacred flame."

Presume you run saturdays? On the offchance you think you might have a future thing open. If you think you're already full or not looking for new players, np!
>>
I'm also interested, especially if the setting is WHF or anything similar.

Hangar, I've gotta' say, that's a great question.

Magor, I think the character you've built up is a really interesting one. How would you justify commanding minotaurs & gors though with a force of ungors, brays, turnskins, mutants, cultists, & thralls, lorewise that is? I'm contemplating recruiting centigors myself via the speech-thrall you gifted me, but it would also be hard to justify. Now I just need a hobgob/chorf translator so I can trade with the Southeast & buy direwolves/wargs & chariots...

>>6146302
i will think about it. though for now my next campaign is already all set up with IRL players. also the game is in german.

>>6146340
it was high fantasy in my own setting. Players were interacting with what amounts to ancient egyptians in the wild west. Traveling all across the continent preparing for a shitstorm yet to come.

>>6146273
minotaurs have 5 HP and deal 2 damage. attacking the Stresely who deal 1 damage on a tier 2 settlement gives the Stresely 3 effective HP. The minotaurs will grind them down over 2 turns without you losing/risking any more units. and there doesnt seem to be any reinforcements far as you can see there.
this is out of character since i cant exactly be there.

At the remark about the crow witch and her future self pulling herself back together even if killed very throroughly Mulrog coughs. "That is why i HATE sorcery beyond any reason. Then we shall crush her again and again if needed." he growls, snatching the sphere out of the air and crushing it between his finger as if it was an infants skull.

NEW PLAN:
"Send in the minotaur's! The others around the flanks."
>>
>>6145747
Preferably after our last town raid, I would also like to attend or at least be informed after the fact if that's alright.

Lemme know if that is the case so I can respond! Magor is eager to learn of victory or defeat by his allies.

"Do not touch her more than she has already been touched." The shaman says plainly. "And as for the dead, mine are the champions of chaos who swore themselves to the blue flame of Chamon Dharek. The very will of the gods keeps their souls shackled to their bones and steel, just as it has kept them for centuries. Meanwhile, the gold clad dead are the ancient and predate the current men of the empire to the south, their sorceries binding them to life on their own. If you had fought the wights, you would have faced similar magics. So as I have not taken either to their binds, I cannot do for you similar as to what was done to either."

>>6146273
>>6146623
Too lazy to do the image, so I'll just describe it (and good thing you changed it):
The minotaurs, through fire and lead, leaving a few of their own to die, smash into the barricade around the fortified village, leaving cracked bodies and smashed bones in their wake.
+20 loot

>>6146281
"It is for the future to see, but the crow-witch and her sister play with fate in ways beyond you or me. Be not surprised if you find yourself facing a dozen of her."

"Many fools think that if you change the past, you instantly change the future. I think that the changes of the past reach the future at the speed of time."

The much diminished hordes of Magor's ungortide, no longer even majority ungor, has finally made its way past the Goromadny mountains, exhausted, bloodied and worn down. Yet, the words the great slaughter, butchery and battles engaged upon by the tide brings attention. When the first warband stands on their way, Magor prepares for a fight. And then, when he is sworn fealty to and told about the prophecies told by raving beastmen around the herdstones, of a great war for the very world, he accepts the submission and continues on the northwards march, as more mutants and beastmen flock to his banner. (gain 100 loot and spend it on recruiting beastmen)

Yet, before he can reach the great northern beastherds, his path is interrupted by a robed figure who shouts for him "Haste northwards to rally your horde, then haste southwards and join the great she-cow! You and she shall fight for chaos itself!"
As Magor reaches for the robed figure, he seems to evaporate, his empty robes collapsing on the floor.

(Spend your gained loot and then the story'll continue)

We're still awaiting Huffud's interraid, & then our own I assume?

Rue'Vahn, were you still going to draw a sketch of the assembled warlords?

Gather 27 Units of Ungors.

THE UNGOR TIDE SHALL MARCH FOR THE FOUR.

---

In a den along the path as night falls, Magor rests alongside his maddened Hung concubine. For many moons now she has crawled on all fours at his side, sired his ungors, and spoken many things ponderous and terrifying to listen to, when she is not frothing around a bejeweled golden bit he used to gag her.

Now as the War for all Chaos dawns upon them all, he removes her gag and lets her speak: "It seems the time that you have prophesized has come at last.

If you have anything to say, I might as well listen."

You might be right. Lemme think.

Dunno what a good ratio is. I'm thinking.
>19 Ungors

It does feel like quantity has a quality on its own though.
>>
>>6147338
maybe like 2 units of Gors. They have higher damage density then Ungors and can take a single point of damage before being destroyed. might be useful if you wanna defend some hills or Woodlands from Cavalery. though i will bring some higher density units as well with my Chaos Warriors and Knights.

>>6147263
Hey, the Ungortide is the Ungortide.
Make Lanu regret making this game. Lead your kin to glory
>>
>>6147127
>(Spend your gained loot and then the story'll continue)
Oh, we're already buying troops? Did we get locked out of anything by going to Chamon Dharek, or do we still get to recruit from wherever?

>>6147263
Hey Magor, back during this >>6129040 post, I promised all the wealth I had accumulated up until that point because I thought you'd die trying to sacrifice yourself for us. Since you lived and things turned out okay, do you still want the 30 loot, or should I keep it to recuperate my own forces?

Speaking of which, for everyone who participated in besieging Ostrosk, how do you guys want to split the loot? It doesn't divide equally.
>>
>>6147172
Rue'Vahn, see above.

The Zar had the cursed gold melted down in the sacred flame of Chamon Dharek, then reforged anew into a simple mold, struck with his mark, just as the slaves of his land bore upon their heads & faces. He then gave half of the new coins over to Mulrog (15 Loot). The rest, he kept. (leaving me with 75 Loot from this raid/total).

After the Champion of Shaarnor spoke, the High Zar hefted his temple-helm to reveal the same, albeit newly scarred, Kurgan face as the warlords had seen in the past seasons. He spoke with a low rumble of reverence for the sacred site.

"I know not of the rest of you, but I would ask two prices for the raid: first, the debts I have accrued to those gathered here be satisfied, whether they be from passage upon ships, slaves to toil in fortifying my lands, or blood spilled upon the plains; & last, the undesired arms & armor looted in our campaign but picked over as unworthy of our marauders, especially of southron fire-dust, be sailed to my keep. Thus, in effect I ask nothing at all as my price. What say you all?"
>>
So Lanu, are we supposed to do our interraid turns & recruiting now?

Oh the drawing?
Yeah here's the little doodle I've done so far. Mostly as a practice bit to decide on who should be standing where.

Tell me what you guys think of it, and let me know if you'd like me to change how your warlords look. I mostly went off of memory from the pictures posted in the first thread.
Right now, I've only included the six of us, but if I have time to spare then I might try to add Lanu and the warlords who couldn't return like Sarrick or Krantagarh.

-2 Units of Gors (20)
-29 Units of Ungors (145)

I have a Minotaur and 2 units of Gors to act as a personal bodyguard/shield block to a vital chokepoint

But we shall be the great shield of fur and meat of the Chaos Horde!

>>6147717
Thirty loot was promised, and so thirty loot shall be delivered. That's what, six units of ungors or an extra unit of minotaurs?

>>6147626
Ah, sorry for the mix up. On my second draft I'll try to make him look more like a normal Chaos Warrior.

>>6147488
Sorry Ivan, I didn't see the question at the bottom there. I also don't quite understand what you're asking (forgive my irl low iq).

Oh, and speaking of the sketch drawing...
Ivan, I ended up using the picture you originally posted in the first thread, but would you prefer that I use the new one you posted last thread with the crazy yellow robes + hat?
>>
>>6147934
Ideally you could combine the two: scalemail armor under ominous golden robes, a red beard & various talismans to the many gods of chaos under the mysterious temple-helm, the red coats of streltsi aa barding upon my horse, & the black greatsword Stormbringer in hand.

In lieu of loot from Ostrosk, I'm proposing that Mulrog, Hangar, & yourself consider my debts satisified & narratively provide the picked-over arms & armor of prior/current campaigns so that I can equip NPC vassals with second-rate gear. Another words, no loot whatsoever. I just won't be paying you back & I can justify an armed revolt in Praag sometime in the future.

If noone else wants to ask the priests of Chamon anything, the warlords in it are free to retire to their locations of preference and recruit hosts as they desire.

As for Magor and Huffud:
It is not long before thousands flood behind Magors bloodstained and tattered banners. And it's also not long before, out of nowhere, thousands more appear to take their place in the endless beastherds of the far north. By the end, Magor would find, if he ever bothered counting, that his horde numbered close to 19,000 fighting souls, a great host, no mater which way it is observed by.
And to his interest, he will also find the great minotaur herds of Huffud's host are also recruiting many great cow-beasts to join their ranks, counting 200 minotaurs. Such great forces, no doubt tense with anticipation to pick a foe to be used against.
And much to their luck, in their dreams, a shaman, a slightly hunched, beer bellied, yet powerful and muscular figure, it's great arms straining the cloth of the robes, while 4 pairs of horns extrude forwards, crowning the shadowed face. "Beastlords!" The shaman calls with a surprisingly high pitched voice which somehow lacks no authority. Possibly due to a shortened Imperial halberd passing through the belt. "I summon both of ye! Meet me at the blue stone! At tomorrow day's noon!"
The shaman was there at the promised time. "Beastlords! Come forth, and listen, for I shall speak the lusts of our gods of Chaos, for none are closer to their desires than us, for had they not carved each of us?"
After waiting for affirmative snarls, the shaman continues "Other things, not gods, for such big words apply not to these intruders, are trying to force their way into our world. We cannot allow this! They shall strike at Chamon Dharek, where a woman is still caged and will burn her to turn her from clay into porcelain, to make her stronger and to make her open the gate for the forces of their world to strike at us! They seek to overthrow our four gods!"
The shaman, yet again, pauses for angry snarls. "We won't let this happen!" He shouts raising his fist. "The priests will keep her imprisoned and a champion of chaos sent from the north has already began working on her. We'll open the gates from our world to theirs and invade them!" The shaman shouts. "Any questions, beastlords? Before you set off southwards to join the other slaves to darkness in this great fight?"
>Write in question
>No, set off southwards
>>
>>6149109
Lanu, hope you're feeling better. I was awaiting the arrival of that Roppsmann & perhaps some others he might bring with him to Chamon Dharek. What of him, & also, I have a sideqst for my NPC followers Ykthuk Tahmak & Rozyk Kul...

HANGAR, MULROG, RUE'VAHN, I never got a verdict on that deal. You three split the loot from Ostrosk, I take nothing but wipe my debts clean. What say you all?
>>
>>6149114
I have went to the toilet to vomit or relive myself every hour and a half for the last few days. Luckily the fever's lighter. Take my advice and if your body's telling you something's not good for it, don't consume it.
To Ivan's surprise, while the drunkard didn't show himself, a warband of the ever elusive and diminished peoples like the Roppsmen did turn out in the low hundreds to heed your request for a champion, for enough of them had been spared by Ivan's warriors to earn him at least some support. Perhaps a unit or horsearchers could be formed from their ranks instead?
And also, Ykthuk and Rozyk show up as asked for. Ykthuk dressed in a well worn strelsy coat and Rozyk, now better developed and more taking on his fathers look of face, or at least how he looked before the mutations his gods gifted him. "High Zar?"
>>
>>6149117
"Free riders of the steppes, Kurgan & Roppsmenn both." He turned to the newcomers with a nod of his head & a raised hand in welcome.
"Some say that your lines descend from the same source of the Ungol, Tong, & Hung, though I have long suspected we both have much more in common with the ancient Scythans. You have answered my summons, & so I shall not bother to further introduce myself. Who amongst you speaks for your band, or sparing that, which among you seek to do so, & what of the drunkard I wrote to who sent you? Steppe forward & join Ykthuk & Rozyk here."

Lanu, was it the forces of the Nurglite Champion, T'ahkho B'lle?
>>
"ZAR MULROG, you may wish to hear this yourself before you depart considering our shared enmity of certain Norscans..."

"We shall not let them claim this woman! We are to invade. What of their world do we know? What of their minions?

Shall the Gods themselves send their heralds? Will demons accompany us or may they be summoned?"

>>6149109
Also, if it isn't too much, and purely for fun, did Magor's mad prophetess from long ago have anything to say? She said there would come a day when all the gods and that we hold dear will fall. It seems that time is nigh. Does she say anything else now?

The shaman stated how it's the energies of chaos itself keeping the mummified warriors who swore themselves to the mound in perpetual and eternal service to the holy site of Chamon.

>>6149432
The shaman straightens himself a bit at the Magors questions. "Of this world, we currently know naught! In fact, you and your fellow warlords, who dealt with the raven haired witch know more than I do! You've encountered her and her minions, if any of you know anything about her or her servants, you know more than the rest of our world together. And I do not expect you to cross into her world yet. Neither do I nor do the great four. We expect you to protect her from the forces of the usurpers who cross into our world to rescue her for their own goals."
The shaman pauses a bit and thinks about the question regarding the demons. "I think not." He says. "If the veil is weakened enough to let ours through, theirs may pass through aswell, for our foes too are followers of chaos."

>>6149433
Nice catch!
"The day is coming!" She says panicked. "Smooth white figures shall cleave your ungors! Man-sized and great figures, with smooth faces and slender forms! Tens of thousands of them shall march against you!"
>>
>>6149449

"Well met, Hetman Kazis! I heard of the dead-yet-living Apponians from the rumors the drunk was spreading at The Last Hope Inn reaching me. I was hoping he could shed more light on them, but no matter....
My army tires of the march, & prepares for a much greater foe of the near future, but I will not leave the insults of Aesling turncoats unanswered. Of each of you I ask the same task, as extensions of my honor & will: bring me the heads of those Aes who fought against us this season & have yet lived. Their chieftains & shields will suffice, whether jarl, thane, styrsman, or drengr. It does not matter to me if you ambush them as they cross Troll Country to return to their own lands, murder them in their sleep as they rest on soft Kislevite beds, charge their lines, or poison their mead.
In order to grant me my vengeance, each of you I gift a small sum forged of cleansed Apponian gold & struck with my mark (1 Loot each, 3 Total) to supply yourselves for this raid, & once you have proven yourselves by these deeds, I shall make you lords of those domains upon the periphery of my grasp. Swear your oaths of vassalage to me; I shall supply you now too with the arms & armor taken from the battlefields of this campaign.
Ykthuk & Rozyk: I bid you recruit volunteers from amongst my host, those who dwell here at Chamon Dharek, your own distant tribes, & the cults of the Southroners. The Priest of the Four here will gladly accept sacrifices to bless your journey, I'm sure.
Kazis: I hear of your people dwelling across the steppes of Troll Country, at the port of Erengrad, amongst the mountains, & of course at your once & future capital of Praag. Seek out mercenaries if you must, although their pay shall have to come from your own future coffers. A greater sum I shall grant for a skilled gunner of the streltsi to train harquebussers of my own, & a gunsmith to supply them.
Although my favor would certainly reside with those who do, I will not demand any of you to convert to the worship of my Gods; respect the Kurgan pantheon, abide the sanctity of any temples we build within your lands, & so too shall ye be left in peace to pray to your own deities & ancestors. This oath I do swear before my Pure-Blooded Kurgan Forefathers,
so say I, High Zar Ivan."
He clutched talismans hanging about his neck, drawing a drop of blood from his palm with the sharp edge of one, & letting the crimson ichor drip upon the hallowed ground before he continued.
"Ride all of you to Ivanoslav, my castle in the pass of the Goromadny Mountains, once this is done.
CRUEL ONE OF THE KUL, do you have anything else for those who ride for our vengeance?"

Now I await ZAR HANGAR's word on the debts/loot situation.

Huffud, swollen to the size of a mammoth (from feasting on the flesh of one) bellows and brays- she seems too blood-hungry and devolved to even speak the beast-tongue right now.

But she is nonetheless on board. Her herd, her children and her new recruits alike, bellow and moo along with them.

But, there is a question in her eyes- unspoken, yes, but a question nonetheless that the shaman picks up on.

The eyes are hungry. They wish for loot, warpstone, gifts… maybe ascension, even

I think there was only the 30 Loot from Ostrosk itself, since the sorceress broke her deal with us immediately on seizing it. I'll take a third of that if offered by Rue, but it's nothing like the windfall it was supposed to be - we all got short changed here.

>>6149109
I guess I'll retire back to Hastling territory in Kurgan lands; my own forces were about cut in half here so I need more riders.
>>
>>6149559
I'm taking that as a yes, absolving me of any prior debts to Mulrog, Hangar, or Rue'Vahn, plus netting me lots of second-rate battlefield pickings of no Loot value to arm my NPCs with.

I am curious, Lanu, if myself, Hangar, & Mulrog are the leaders of our respective tribes at this point (Dolgan, Hastling, & Kul), or just large warbands from said tribes.

"It will be the same for me. A mans weight in silver for each (also 3 loot) of you, payed now and some of my favour more if you succeed" his gaze shifting from the Ropsmen to his son, who he had not once acknowledged while on campaign or in these hallowed halls.

"If there is one thing i know your good at its finding people willing to die for you. Who knows. Maybe next time you will be a worthy enough skull to claim for the Brass Throne." He gives in acknowledgement to his son before glancing at Rue Vahn and Hangar, discussing what to do with the slaves and loot taken from the formidable fortress of Ostorok, Mulrog wished to have conquered personally, Axe in hand instead of simply crushing those that sought to take their prize and serve a false pantheon.

"So we are in agreement here." though it is worded like a question, it is more of a statement made by the Cruel one.

He stands, eyes darting between warlords, before almost politely nodding to each of them. "Much blood will be spilled in the coming summer. I shall now take my leave, before the thoughts of the coming bloodshed make me unable to resist the call to claim more heads this season"

Pretty much Khornate. If blood rages an affinity for Bearserkers and screaming about Skulls didnt give it away enough
>>
Did GW just never figure out a use for Halflings? Seems like they just don't amount to anything, which in LotR is understandable since they're supposed to be the honest little-guy commoner every-man, but with their Ogre affinity it seems like they should be doing something. Still want one as a jester for my court at Ivanoslav, maybe even a bearded or ratty-looking one....
>>
>>6149576
Keep them with you for now, as you don't really see any chance of raising them back to life for now.

>I guess I'll retire back to Hastling territory in Kurgan lands; my own forces were about cut in half here so I need more riders.
As is custom, feasts, celebrations, games and orgies are held to honour the arriving hosts of chaos warriors, especially ones with full pockets that are willing to spend their hard earned treasure. And it is of no surprise when even more soldiers arrive from further afield, promising service. This time, it is the:
>cold blooded Khureshites offering their service in exchange for blood, souls and warmth
>a large warband of bloodied warriors, offering service to a great warlord and demanding naught but to be sent into battle (2 units of knights)
>a endless horde of mutants, drawn to fate by the winds of chaos, like Hangar was so long ago (8 units of slaves)

Pick one and spend your loot.

>>6149726

>return to Baersonling Lands. It will be time l recruit. Maybe i can find Sarrick tvere as well. His forces would be a boon to this battle

The halls soon ring with laughter, ballads, joy, lutes, flutes and slave girls. Mead, ale and nomad drinks flow freely and aren't spared on the old warriors. Arena fights are organized, mock battles, reenactments by kids and youths, great fat seamonsters are caught and roasted. Yet, the talk never leaves the talk of war. Everyone, every wench, whore, warrior, youth and old soul knows of a impending clash. And it is in this mood that:
>A vast host of veterans lands in their long black ships (3 chaos warriors)
>A young shaman girl offers to summon a host of demons
>A captured beast is wrecked by mutations and swears its fealty to you

Pick one and spend your loot.
Now, did anyone else state where they're retiring to? Because I can swear I missed them and I'm too unfocused to find it

Wish I had boats to go back to that nice place with all the beastman tribes but that's across the waters iirc

I stated that I'd retire, but I just now realized that I didn't mention where, so my bad.
I'll probably head back to the Aghol lands of the Hung. I only got like 10 loot from this raid, so hopefully that elf wasn't lying about giving a reward for not handing over the witch sister.

If I'm keeping track of this right, we all met with a shaman (either "human" or beastman), Hangar & Mulrog were presented with their choices, & now myself, Rue'Vahn, Magor, & Huffud await being presented with our own. Also, Magor got 100 loot out of nowhere, that lucky son of a goat.

Plus Rue'Vahn's masterpiece, a Scroll of Inspiration gifted to him in a vision by Loesh, is yet to be presented.

Those Aeslings definitely struck South at the Sarls, Fjellsendes, & us because of your Hung raids, but I'm just going to keep hypocritically blaming their greed or maybe cozyness with Kislev to justify their future destruction LMAO

>During his stay near the Beasronling Capital Mulrog found himself restless, bloodlust clawing at the back of his mind whenever thinking about what the next season would bring. Over a few days a headache had been building, one that no amount of wine, meat or bloodshed could quench as new of a shaman reaches his ears. One claiming to be able to summon the servants of the gods to their side in the coming battles. Intrigued he has them called to his Arena, guarded by some of his most loyal knights, the headache slowly receeding.

>Thralls are prepared for sacrifice, southern men and women forced to fight to death or bloodfueled madness against, beast, slaves and all manner of foul creatures in preparation to call upon the gods servants and provide them vessels to stay upon the plains of this world without rending apart the fabric of reality.

Buy. three units of thralls, Five of Bearserkers and a unit of Skinwolves. Which will get my final unit count up to.

Army:
1 Chaos Knight +2 Damage +1 Health
1 Chaos Knight +1 Damage

Infantry:

3 Thralls
7 Baerserkers
2 Chaos Warrior
1 Unit Skinwlves

Thralls for sarifice. i assume demons need to be housed somewhere and if not. well. they are three more units capable to shipping other units across the seas.

Skinwolves as fast and punchy unit to block any gaps that might form in the hills.

The High Zar's return to his domain is greeted by cheering crowds, petals being thrown and instruments being played. And soon said return is followed by work and preparation for the next years campaign.
Aside from logistical issues, payments, replacements for the dead, the clothes, weapons, ammo, supplies and such, a interesting addon is made in the form of:
>Deamon powered automata of the chaos dwarves
>Common volunteers armed in the Kislevite way (6 units of Strelsy)
>Steppe nomads, flowing in to fill out the ranks (4 units of horse archers)

>>6150855

As Magor and Huffud head southwards, they are able to detour and seek more recruits. In front of them are presented paths of:

>the blood marshes, currently populated by mutants
>black rock, currently occupied by a strander norse raiding party

As Rue'Vahn sets off and gets far enough to be removed from other warlords, he finds a familiar figure in his tent.
"I see you saw reason." The elf warrior says. "I have the wealth promised to you. I just require something else before I hand it over to you." He pauses, straightens himself out and hefts his blade. "Show me where in Chamon is she held. I want to be able to slay her if she is at risk of falling to the arms of her rescuers."

The young shaman girl does not strike you as one likely to be a shaman. She seems to slender, gentle and feminine and this is somehow more accented by the fact she wears nothing but a cloak, her bare feet leaving footsteps in the snow and mud.
"I'll take the thralls." She says, then turns around and orders them to work. Much to your surprise, they are ordered to go woodchopping and to look for 400 couples that volunteer.
When the volunteers are found she enters the arena and starts ordering people in her gentle voice. The first orders are regarding the draining of blood of the male volunteers and the chaining up of the female volunteers, attaching them to wooden pillars in rows and columns then attached to them to eachother. She then spends days in trance as she paints sigils, runes, patterns and symbols onto herself and the bodies and chains binding the women. Then, one evening, she sends a runner, a young Baersonling boy to call for Mulrog and hand him a carved wooden club with a polished black stone. "She said to tell you that she let the thralls escape!" The boy says, pauses, thinks and then add "And she told me to yell into this." The boy says.
When Mulrog arrives, all the women, including the shaman girl have their throats slit. First confused, then frustrated and finally angry at being tricked, Mulrog is finally taken back when the shaman-girl's back arches upwards, her slit throat releasing a powerful shriek. Then, before his eyes, the blood-runes themselves turn to glow and the volunteer women, their throats slit, just like their shamaness, grow, in size, musculature and colour, to a dark red. By the end, a mob of four hundred bloodletters, noticeably bloodletters, yet also noticeably female and chained to eachother is standing, tugging at chains and breaking the wooden pillars. Mulrog, initially confused, then horrified as the horde starts to break free from the mighty wooden beams it has been bound to, quickly realizes how to command this horde of four hundred, as he, gripping the club, yells into the stone. "Halt!" His powerful voice commands. First met by disobedience, as the horde keeps breaking the pillars, he shouts into it again "Halt!" Then the runes and chains start glowing white hot and start sizzling of against flesh. "Halt!" Mulrog shouts and this time, the bloodletteres are slowly branded into submission, collapsing down to the floor.

Gained 4 units of bound bloodletters.

Bound bloodletters:
Infantry, M4, D4, H3, randomly attacks 2 units near them when in combat with enemy (this includes allied units aswell)

First and foremost, Hangar's riders are riders; and there is little warmth to be found in the cold of the north.

Second, come the new-bloods to the ranks; warriors of the new generation to prove their worth and earn their spurs. (+6 Horse Archers, -60 Loot. 20 Loot remains.)

At first the warlord is annoyed that the elf is making further demands, but is thrilled upon hearing that it is to help kill the witch. He pulls out a map of the settlement, then gives the description and details of relevance. Afterwards, he asks a few questions of his own.
"I know why you won't help us kill her now. You despise us, and want to see our forces weaken ourselves by fighting those of her sister. Every one of ours that dies to her is one less of us that you need to kill later. Fair enough. We would do the same... but why did you not tell us more when we first spoke? Things seem to have turned out alright in the end, but some of my peers were almost deceived by her lies, and she got very close to her goal. A better warning could have put far less at risk.
Next, I assume you know of our plans for her. She'll eventually be used to launch a counter attack against the sister, and then killed. Is there any advice against this foe who is new to me and my allies?
Lastly, are you completely certain you can truly slay her? If we fail, you might not get a second chance at destroying her, and neither of us want her side to win. Make sure it works."

The Zar's rookery that night had overloooked the long shadows cast upon the valley below, the Wicked Moon even higher overhead. The man himself spent the evening with blood, wax, & the feathers of ravens. The Unbearable One's message was penned by his own hand, then copied by his attendants in the dialects of the Tahmak & Kul, the runes of Norsca, the talismans of the Fimir, the letters of the Reik, the backwards runes of Kislev, the scratchings of Beastmen, & even the strange calligraphy of Hung & Tong:

"To all those who follow the True Gods of Chaos, to all those who hold sacred the site of Chamon Dharek, & to all those who hold in their hearts a hatred for the perfidious Aeslings!
The High Zar of the Wheatlands, King of Ivanoslav, Dragon-Prince of the Melniboneans, pens this letter to you:
Blasphemers against the Great Four seek to sack the holy Kurgan-mound of the Golden Winds. News of this alone should spur those faithful to the Divinities of the North to action. What's more, the cowardly Aes sold their honor to stop the march of our hordes into Kislev, failing in the attempt, but making clear that they are enemies of all Northmen. To deal with these threats I invite ye to Castle Ivanoslav in the Blyat Pass of the Goromadny Mountains as my honored guest, where feasting, drinking, & slaves will be provided. Peace within my realm shall be upheld for all those under my protection, with the ever honest Khorne as my witness. Solemn oaths between our Great Hosts, glory before the Gods & Ancestors, the wealth of conquests, high station for those lacking it who prove themselves worthy, & bloody revenge I offer ye. Make your journey before the next changing of seasons so that a Pact of the North may be discussed.
So say I,
Ivan Dolgan the Unbearable"

These letters were then sent by way of horse courier, mountain traveller, sorcerous transmission, & aloft wings of black birds to a great many places:
Northern & Southern Dolgan tribes
Riders of the Tahmak & Kul
Khazag Mammoth Tamers
Kurgan further upon the Steppes
Baersonlings & their Ulfhednar Villages
Fjellsendes
Survivors of the Sarls
Norscans beyond the Sea of Claws
Cults of Kislev & the Empire
Kyazak bands of Troll Country & the Mountains
Tong & Marauders of the Chaos Wastes
Hung of the Eastern Steppes & Vinland
Fimir of the vast Marshes & Bogs
Warherds in the Great Forests of the Old World

Lacking any to translate into their strange tongues, a few letters were also sent to the mythical lair of the Troll King, the Ziggurats of the Chaos Dorfs, the distant Chaos Ogres, & the rumored Goblins who worship Khorne as an Eight-Armed Aspect.

Meargh Gokzoxa of the Sarl Lands Fimir
Hetman Kazis of the Free Roppsmenn

Whosoever amongst you that possesses the ambition are invited to Castle Ivanoslav."

So.... Bloodletters can get involved in up to two melees per turn? so long as they are attacking different units?

nice. so i will have to keep em somewhat isolated in the battlelines if we wanna prevent friendly fire.

Almost getting eviscerated by the Messengers of the Bloodgod after the Shaman sacrificed herself to the bloodgod made Mulrgo wish he had send several knights of his to keep him informed, but they were busy training and selecting new berserkers and branding the new Skinwolf pack. After last time it had no longer been necessary to butcher their Alpha himself, now they were more willing to follow without copious amounts of violence.

This felt similar, Brass and Iron bindings that had shattered would have to be reforged to make sure the demons stayed bound and his steel like resolve would be needed to keep them from butchering everything they came across. And the weird club would have to stay on his person at all times, though he did wonder if one of these messengers was capable of speech.

For now it was of little importance as the muster came to a close and it would soon be time to ride for Ivans little kingdom and forge battleplans for the defense of Chamon Dahrek as well as erase the debt they had incurred with the Great Heffer.

>"I know why you won't help us kill her now. You...
The elf returns only a stern gaze to this question. "I presumed stupidity and greed on your end would be enough."
>Next, I assume you know of our plans for her. She'll eventually...
"Pull back to defensive positions. Hold the coasts, the river crossings, the forests and hills and use your horsemen to bleed them on the plains. They are all obedient to a single great mind and will not make the mistakes of your foes. Kislevites and Norsemen are little when compared to them in warfare. They will come in large, disciplined and well coordinated armies." Says the elf.
>Lastly, are you completely certain you can truly slay her? If we fail, you might not get a second chance at destroying her, and neither of us want her side to win. Make sure it works."
The elf shrugs his shoulders. "That's why you'll, when you are returning to here, with your host, smuggle me in to Chamon Dharek. And that's also why you'll help me slay her should it come to it."

>>6151700
>So.... Bloodletters can get involved in up to two melees per turn? so long as they are attacking different units?
If they're bordering a enemy unit, they will, twice in the same turn, immediately, randomly attack one unit near them, regardless of their alignment.
So yeah, if they're in a line of friendlies, flanked on both sides by friendly huscarls and a enemy unit of thralls runs into them, odds are, you'll lose at least one unit of huscarls. And odds are 1/3 that they'll just kill 2 friendly units and get hit by the enemy unit.
Best keep them isolated.

From the various invitations, eventually, a odd assortment of individuals is amassed. From the named individuals, the Baersonling king decides to come in person with a sizeable bodyguard, informing you that the Fjellsende Jarl fell in the fight for his tribe with the Aeslings. To much surprise, a chief of the Goromadny tribe shows up, being a short, yet powerfully built Dolgan who had adopted much of the Kislevite customs. He complains of almost being shot with an arrow as he approached and considering his coat and cap, which appear to be leather variants of the Strelsy coat and hat, it is of no surprise.

Aside from them a various assortment of chiefs, warlords, elders petty kings and such amasses, eager to both feast and hear the High Zar, but primarily to feast.

The chaos dwarf inventor seeks (and takes) what he deems necessary, from loyal followers to be given new bodies to large amounts of gold, silver and gems (for himself) to metal and forges for smiting. Then he sets to work. Surprising you with speed, he produces the first demon infused, human mind controlled body within a week, in good part because of how unimpressive it is, at least in looks. A 3 meter tall construct with cleavers for arms, four legs positioned in a X, a thin body and a simple horseman for a mind. Yet, when it is done, you are awarded with a half aware murdermachine that follows your commands as well as some of your other living servants. By the end, you are 250 good men down, yet 50 demon infused automata up.

Unit gained: Demon powered automata
Infantry M3, D4, H20, always strikes last

Okay, so with the 100 from the elf, and the 10 left over from Ostrosk, that means I can get five units of Chaos Warriors. Narratively speaking, I'll just say that the troops I "lost" during the siege merely retreated, and have now regrouped back home. That, and the two units of savages received a promotion in the form of some high quality armor + weapons, putting them now at the same level as the other veterans.

This leaves me with:
2 Warbeasts of the North (Rue & Sunset)
5 Chaos Warriors

Cool, this means I only lost that third monster, and in exchange I got to upgrade two units.

The host sat upon his gleaming throne of crimson, scratching under the feathers of the beaked "chatter-dog" as it waddled about at his feet. He waited until the longtable of his hall was full, his gaze imperious, before he stood & strode down the steps, chalice in hand. Boasts, veiled threats, jests, & barbs died out as he approached. He raised his goblet with a flourish & began:

"Hail & welcome, brothers all. I have gathered you here to forge a great Pact of the North, to plot the campaigns that would see us lasting victories, & to crush our enemies. Many of you I have ridden the plains, bled, & killed with, & so you are always welcome. Others seek opportunity, & you shall have it. Leaving the two mobs of men to their fates, the beasthordes head to the blood marshes. It is very soon that they see why. The ground, while not bloody, is covered with a endless sea of patches of water filled with thin flakes of rust, while the center of the bog is characterized by a giant iron pillar, held in place by countless chains large enough for minotaurs to crawl along them without disturbing them, completely smooth for at least half a kilometre before it turns into a cactus of sorts, its surface covered in countless clusters of narrow, long, straight spikes.

Mulrog had arrived shortly after his muster has completed, together with Sjur, though arrived quite some time after the Baersonling King, after requisitioning an entire valley for the Bound demons and forbidding anyone from entering unless they wished to die a truly swift death by the hands of the Messengers of Khorne.

Though when he arrived the Skull, carved into a Throne still sat where it had at the gathering last year. Or mostly as dragmarks across the floor showed. And it had been dusted off.

"Greetings Ivan, my muster has concluded and i suggest none of your subjects enter that second valley. A Shamaness sacrificed herself and 400 couples to summon the Messengers of the Gods, though they are near feral with bloodlust and grow ever fiercer in demeanor the closer the foe draws. They shoudl be kept seperate from everyone that has a deathwish." he rumbles, gesturing for several of his servants to take their places at the foot of his own Throne, finally picking up one of the namless familiars following him. Squeezing it for a bit till it reguritates a cahalice entirely too big for its own body and being deposited upon the floor again. A servant is ordered to clean the massive goblet and have it filled with only the finest Baersonling Mead.

Trophies he had many, more skulls than he could count, weapons and pieces of armor, taken and refined into his own. But truly worthy skulls had been few and far between. Still the torn and bloody banners of the crushed Aesling Elite would do for now as well as the Skull of the Captain of The Zamak Guard, who had been a brave though foolish man, standing against them. It had been bronzed and its chain hung together with that towns banner on the other side of his own Throne.

The climb up the chains seems to drag on for all eternity as chains extend as you move up them, always a new set of links to move up. However, after endless days, you do make your way to the tops and find the chained up creatures. Or in this case, half and quarter demons, their mouths gagged, their bodies wrapped in chains, their chests and stomachs impaled on long and narrow needles and their legs and arms bound tightly.
Bringing them down is a long process, yet by the end, the two hordes end up having about a thousand bound half demons which noone, for good reason dares free from their chains.

>>6152767
Looks nice man.

Rue'Vahn's force is welcomed, yet not in simple celebration, but rather in weariness. The Hung lands are, somehow, worse than usual. The game has been sparse and starved itself, the winds cold and chilly and the gods fickle. But, a experienced warlord is not the one to waste such a golden opportunity:
>rallying the hung savages into his ranks (gain 10 hung savages)
>pitting the starving against eachother until only the best remain (4 chaos warriors)
>using the weakest as bait for the starved beasts of the wilderness (2 chaos warbeasts)
>>
>>6152944
(I take it that means that between my 3 vassals, I have 1 unit of Horse Archers?)

"The mammoth tamers I claim, to serve my own Dolgan beast-riders. Then only the knowledge of the Khazags' handlers of hoof & trunk will be unknown to me, & two of three ancient Tusks of the Steppes I will be lord over. The rest of the slaves I bid you keep for your own purposes, whether sacrifices to the Gods, gifts to warriors, your own servants, or to toil upon the prizes I shall grant you. Those taken in future raids I will demand my own price in flesh of, as I have set out in my laws. Rozyk & Kazis, were you led in battle by Ykthuk here, or did each of you accomplish something worthy of recognition?"
>>
>>6152944
>pitting the starving against each other until only the best remain (4 chaos warriors)
As much as I want to take the 10 savages, I oog don't want to have to control that many units on the map, especially not on top of the 7 units I already have.

With those new troops, that leaves me with:
2 Warbeasts of the North (Rue & Sunset)
9 Chaos Warriors (Fuck yeah)
>>
>>6152944
Fuck, I completely forgot a part for Magor and Huffud.
>Bringing them down is a long process, yet by the end, the two hordes end up having about a thousand bound half demons which noone, for good reason dares free from their chains.
Maybe some shamans or priests can be found to tame the hordes? At Chamon Dharek maybe?

>>6152953
Nah, between the three of them, there are 3 units of horse archers.
Rozyk and Kazis regail you with tales of their personal bravery and Ykthuk affirms their deeds. Rozyk tells of when he cut down 4 warriors by himself while Kazis tells of how he slew a 4 armed Aesling champion with but a knife, how they both rode through Aesling lines and butchered men, but in truthfulness, none of it really matters.

Alright, so, final callup, did I forget anyone before and does anyone have any unspent loot. If you do, you should spend it, this is going to (most likely) be the final confrontation.

"You have each availed yourselves as great warriors, avenged myself & my fellow warlords against treachery, & proven yourselves as Hetmen of blooded warbands. As you have honored me, I now honor you with my High Mark, & name each of you:
ZAR YKTHUK OF KARAG DUM
ZAR ROZYK OF ZAMAK SPAYENYA
Z'RA KAZIS OF PRAAG"
Servants bowed low before the three, offering up the High Mark to each, before the High Zar continued.
"Once these strongholds are in your possession, you shall offer up the tribute I am owed without fail, we shall bleed & spill blood together in all the battles to come, & the laws of my lands you shall abide. Beyond that, rule as you see fit. Bring forth an Aes shield each of you now, & swear the oath upon it with our mingled blood across its face."
He cut his palm open with a jutting spike from his temple-helm, letting it drip over the proferred trophies of war.

The feast resumed for some time before Ivan stood & spoke again:
"I see on the horizons of ambition & the will of the Gods, that a Great Seven Sieges stand before us:
Claiming Karag Dum
Garrisoning Zamak Spayenya
Defending Chamon Dharek
Cleansing the Sarl Lands
Devastating the Aeslings
Liberating Praag
& Pillaging Erengrad....
From ye lords & chieftains assembled here, we shall require the use of ships to carry our armies to battle, mountain reavers & wolfmen to fight upon the hills, berserkers to assail the gates of fortresses, & of course my own riders of horse & mammoth to shatter our foes upon the plains. I shall speak at length now of our shared triumphs to come."
[Going to type up some yappanese real quick about each objective, whether we continue after Chamon or not]
>>
"The Malignant Crone gathered us, dwelled, plotted, & weaved foul sorceries at the ancient Dorfen ruins of Karag Dum. There we shall find her remaining forces, whether deluded fools who reject the Four, or marauders driven by gold. Perhaps her works continue there at the direction of lesser hags, which would mean that putting an end to them would save us a great deal of blood at Chamon Dharek. Armored warriors would serve us well to breach the fortress & claim the heads of her blasphemers. If they serve Chaos truely, perhaps we may break their illusions & recruit them to our cause. However it should transpire, Zar Ykthuk shall hold it afterward with their gathered forces, my elephantry, other Kurgan riders, & Chief Ugnis' mountain-men I would propose as well. The untold treasures there will be a boon to our further campaigns.

Zamak Spayenya, the bastion of Kislev against raids from the Troll Country... Last season, we painted the rocks with Southron blood, though others may have come to wet the stones once more. The caves beneath provide resources to the defenders, & to claim their own defenses against them will ensure they can never again fend off our pilfering bands. I shall place Zar Rozyk there to rule the great hill upon our arrival at Chamon, to be held in the future by his own, Baerson, Sarl, & should they rally to our cause, Fjellsende men as well. Thus will we ensure through alliance that the soft Southerners be the target of our future bloodletting.

The Golden Kurgan-tumulous of Chamon Dharek is of course the crux of our gathering at this time. We cannot allow it to fall no matter the cost, or the Gods will surely devour our souls for our failures. The fact that an army seeks to surrender their skulls to us at the very site is fortuitous; when else are grand sacrifices so easily prepared? Skinwolves, other hill stalkers, & Goromadny mountaineers shall be of utmost value to us here. Before the battles begin, I would seek out the remnants of the Fjellsende tribe, & align them to our cause, whether as vassals or equals.

With the Dharek held & once-more sanctified, the lands of the Sarls shall await us. Perhaps another season will be taken to revel in victory & bolster our warbands again, though I wish to march as soon as we are able. Nurglites have overrun them across the Sea of Claws, & so the strength of sorcerers & vast pyres is needed. Once dealt with, I would have their king, whether living, dead, or in a twilight of the two, brought to be sacrificed at the holy place we will have defended. His disolute nature brought the wrath of rotlings upon his tribe; he boasted that the Gods had no hold upon him, & a servant of theirs brought this to my attention. Thus I will fulfill the task charged of me by our Eternal Overlords. Thane Lini Goldmane here has led the devout of their warriors away in disgust of the weak sons the old king left, & we shall install him as the new lord of that people, the third great lord of our alliance...."
>>
"With the borderlands of our realms secured, we may then focus upon the target of our mutual vengeance: they have raided the villages of Sarl, Fjellsende, & Baerson folk. They have betrayed the Great Hosts who march at the Gods behest. Thus we shall grant them no mercy! Honorless, toothless, & Godsless, their only value lies in their mammoth tamers, who will be made slaves to my own Dolgan elephantry. The Aes chieftains you see here were drawn from those who sought their fortunes elsewhere rather than linger amongst cowards. They shall gather those worthwhile from the tribe to fight alongside us, & in doing so, prove their worth to be placed upon that throne. The rest of the tribe will be made slaves, yet even less than that, their men violated by Loeshian devotees, their women's bellies filled with rot of Nieglenite devising, their children consumed by Beastmen, & their feeble elders made to witness. Those not marked for protection by our chieftains shall have their lamentations heard for days upon end! May Khorne find a use for the hill of skulls we shall pile at the site of our victory, a place to rest his axe whensoever he deigns to wield another! The Aes are not the only foe in their lands however, & rulership is not the only gift we shall grant our new allies. Hungolian invaders from Vinlandia have made their way to the Aesling borders, a fortuitous turn of Tchar's wings. Between the lesser kin of the Tong & our own hordes, we shall crush the Aeslings, but we will not settle for that. So too will we drive the Hungoloids back into the sea, the impurity of their blood to be washed away from the lands of True Northmen. Their skulls we will offer up to Khorne, but their bodies shall be given over to Mermedus to consume as he wishes & bless our fleets' future reavings. Thus, amongst these chieftains, a fourth great lord shall be raised & sworn to our cause.

This Pact of the North having been written in the Warp with lamentations, we may then turn again towards the profligate Kislevites. Raids from Zamak & the Goromadny Mountains shall not cease as we wage war, the stinging of wasps keeping them from mounting a thorough defense. The arms & armor picked from vast battlefields will be secreted by way of cults to the Roppsmenn of Praag. From within & without, we shall claim the city & its riches. The new Z'ra of their people, Kazis, I raise up, & his horsemen, Fimir sent to haunt the moats, & mammoth-riders from my army will forever-more maintain their freedom under my vassalage. The wealth of the city shall not abate; southern traders may come & go, & so too will our own marauders, but as a city of Free Roppsmenn the Southlings will not find cause for Crusades of Hammer & Ice, only despair at their losses..."
>>
"The final act I would swear us to, the last of my goals until Tchar's whims are whispered to me again, is the sacking of the Grand Port of Erengrad. Ungol & Gospodar riders from that city thwarted me before, & so I shall fulfill my oath to visit my wrath upon them. Untold treasures await us from their harbor. By raizing the city, Kislev, the Reik, & beyond shall know fear & hopelessness. To capture the entirety of what they have to offer us, the sea-wolves of your tribes shall need to coordinate when the time comes, preventing the flight of their gilded wretches.

Join me in this Pact of the North; pledge your ships, berserkers, skin-wolves, & blood-knights to reave with my horse-marauders, war-mammoths, dragon-elves, & bog-warriors. The Realms of the Wheatlands, Goromadny, Baersons, Fjellsende, Sarls, & Aes shall be aligned until our descendants age to bring ruin to the 'Old World!' What say you all?"

Ivan unsheathed his greatsword over the longtable, running his hand upon the edge, letting his blood drip into a brass bowl, onlookers staring as some was leeched into the black blade itself. He passed the vessel wordlessly to the next chieftain in turn & awaited their own oath...

[WARLORDS feel free to arrive/chime in/suggest a change in course/etc.]

You could try it, but you are repulsed by every fiber of your being. The first one Huffud approaches to give a sniff is a hawk headed muscular human with clawed hands and feet angrily wriggling in his chains. The sniff sends you gagging.

Is attacking Karag Dum first an option, & do the assembled marauders swear oaths of alliance (thereby providing a few more troops)?
>>
I'm thinking the Baersons should have the usual troops + the real prize of Wolfgangrs, the Goromadny streltsi & maybe some infantry with hill-fighting bonuses, & then amongst the unnamed multitudes hopefully so cultists I can use to infiltrate Praag & Erengrad (reduce their settlement defense bonus).
>>
>>6153875
>Is attacking Karag Dum first an option
If you want, however, Mulrog does put a good point of dwarven fortifications which might drain your forces significantly before the invasion force arrives. And trust me, you'll need all the forces for the defense against the invasion force.
>& do the assembled marauders swear oaths of alliance
You can get 3 more horse archers and a unit of strelsy.
>>
>>6153887
Dope, well in that case I'll writeup a conclusion.
>>
>>6153309
With Rozyk regaling the Zar with his exploits Mulrog had to hold back laugter but still smiled under his helmet. A smile that snuck into his voice with a predatory snarl as he finally spoke up.

"So the boy has become a warrior. Continue this path and i might one day call you by the name your mother gave you." He spoke before listening to the speach Ivan had prepared.

>>6153341
Making his opinion about attacking Karag Dum clear he had little problem with having the Aeslings be part of the defenses against the coming invasion. Their lands would be ravaged either way so better to stand with the true gods insted of these invading pretenders.

As for anything coming afterwards. "We shall see if we will still draw breath by the end of this season. Securing, rivers and the sea shall be a difficult undertaking against the hosts that will surely seek to kill us and bleed them to their false idols. And those witches. Their skulls shall be cracked open, their souls offered to Tchar and Khorne. Without them their invasion will fail, their followers scatter"
>>
"The blood-oaths have been sworn, the feast & spirits imbibed, our course set in stone. Now, in the sight of the Gods, let us make our offerings, & then be off to march upon our foes. I shall preside, but the honoring of each is as always a matter of your own choice. Bring forth the sacrifices to the Crag!"

The High Zar led the procession of drunken guests to the battlements overlooking the moat, as his servants carried bound & gagged captives kicking, crying, pleading, & screaming, prodded onto the stones above the murky waters. A fasces of javelins was leaned against a crenellation at Ivan's side, & he began his sermon to the Dark Gods:

"To The Four, Mightiest of the Gods!"
Nearly all present hailed their patrons before the Mountain King continued.

"To Khorne, Taker of Skulls, Forger of Mighty Legends, Lord over Brass & Bone, who's strength we strive to embody with our unbridled rage & the thrill of spilling the blood of worthy beasts, great rivals, sworn enemies..."
A javelin was thrown down at the feet of a burly slave from the Reik, hands unbound, allowing him to heft it himself & attempt a return to caster. The slave however, was weakened, the throw sluggish, & the Dolgan Lord batted it aside with another as it neared him. Then the next spear took the condemned through the heart, driving him into the water where a crimson splotch bloomed briefly above the surface.
>>
"To Tchar, Granter of Genius, Inspirer of Intuition, who's cunning we emulate on the path to victories, Muse of Great Powers & Artifice, who warns of treachery by way of their own nature..."
A gibbering, mad sorcerer was next; unable to weave magics in his bindings, he could do nothing to stop the pilum hurled into his brains.

"To Loesh, the Insatiable One, Whore-Favorer, Sweller of Bellies, who's virility leads us to claim our prizes without care for pain, Provider of Mercies for those we enslave..."
A fetching yet desolate slave girl cried out as the point took her at the navel, a sacrifice of barrenness offered up.

"To Nieglin, Corpse-Bloater, Blood-Blackener, Lord of Plague Winds, who's promised rot hastens our pursuit of glory, blessing us with hardships that test the fortitude of men, consuming the weak..."
Fat & old was the chosen sacrifice here, a portrait of slow decay. The edge cut expertly across his bowels, spilling them across the rocks to the delight of a flock of waiting crows.
>>
"To The Eight, Lords Residing in Shadow!"
Fewer took up the call then, veteran riders of the Zar's own band & cult adepts well versed in the occluded mysteries of Chaos.

"To Be'lakor, Herald of the Everchosen, Dark Lord who treads upon Mallus, he who guides the greatest warriors to become the Most High Zars, may he choose one of our own number..."
A raving lunatic was brought forth, shouting that in his mouth he bore the tooth of the Most High Zar Asavar Kul, that it whispered to him, claims that every shaman & sorcerer of the realm had found no veracity in. That very tooth, & the jaw it was placed in, flew forth into the moat at the head of an oaken shaft.

"To Krom, Judge of Shades, Bellower atop the Peaks, who's scorn does not allow cowardice to go unpunished, ruler of pitiless mountains such as these..."
Of the raids of past seasons, a Kurgan rider found to have fled was dragged out, silent, eyes distant & downcast, the shame of meekness & dishonorable flight written upon his face. The spear took both his legs at once, leaving him to writh in misery, unable to ever flee again.

"To Malal, who is Malice, who is Malign, keeping the Four from self-defeat, Turner of Blades, Unweaver of Spells..."
A scrawny & especially twitchy man stood next as Ivan readied another throw, off-arm forward, then feinted letting loose the missile with all his might, the target leaping out of the way & slipping into the waters all on his own. Raucous laughter arose from the assembled onlookers before another was selected.

"To The Unknown God of the Realms of Chaos, whom we honor until we are worthy of their name..."
A faceless, earless, eyeless wretch in rags, unidentifiable as man, woman, or loeshidite, was the next victim. The Dragon-Prince by Conquest prepared to cast again, but then looked away, letting fate guide the projectile absent of his focused aim. It struck the unknown mutant, cripple, or homonculus at random, shattering a hipbone with a spray of gore. The wailing screetch it gave forth was unbearable. Shouting to be heard over the screams, the High Zar continued...
>>
"To The Thirteen & One, Most Glorious of Ancestors!" At this, a great many Dolgan amongst other Kurgan marauders took up the cry.

"To The Revered Dolgan, First Man to Tame the Steed, whom all horsemen owe their livelihoods..."
A horse-headed man-beast stepped forth upon two hooved legs & savagely stomped upon the prior scapegoat's skull to silence it. Impressed by the display, Ivan watched impassively as it struggled laboriously to swim away, fading into the misty horizon. Whether or not a prowling guard-Fimir ate it was now in the hands of the Furies.

"To The Great Kurgan, First Blessed of Chaos, who showed us their Great Power & Terrible Natures..."
A stunted abomination more-rolled-than-walked onto the blood-soaked boulder. All the disparate features of a chaos spawn, confined to a shrunken body with no limbs capable of rending flesh. The first spearhead went through nearly to the very end of the haft, sticking out what might have been the back of the creature. Another caught in the small, protruding, mollusc-like foot of the thing & penned it to the stone. A third shorn a scattering of eyes from the shoulder-like curves atop the blob. A fourth simply sunk into twisted flesh & the beast writhed no longer.

"To Kullnan, the Mightiest of Warrior-Kings, Wandering Barbarian of the Lost Khymeryans..."
A snakeheaded man stood for but a moment before it no longer had a head to distinguish itself, the neck-stump sputtering as it fell.

"To Mal Axe-Ender, the Greatest of Conquerors, King of the Horizon from the shores of Tilea to the jungles of Ind..."
Swarthier than any before, the captive may have very well been from Ind, the Veigs, Araby, or simply a hairy mutant. The javelin pierced through its ear into its head.

"To Grand Tsar Ungern, Bane of the Khanzarians, who's Imperious Gaze saw through all lies of the treacherous Tong & Hung beneath him..."
Arguably the most foul creature yet was marched forth, green-tinted skin, boots with curving toes, & the eyes of serpents set sideways into the face. Perhaps half Hobgob with the blood of an Ungol, Tong, or Hungolid. In an expert display, the Zar granted the swift mercy of ending the mongrel's existence with not the tip of the spear, but the sturdy haft. It sailed just over the shoulder, impacting the angled face of a jutting stone & breaking off, the stick cracking open the Half-Khanzar's cranium as it flew.

"To Most High Zar Asavar Kul, Twelfth Everchosen, Scourge of Kislev, may he Ascend to Daemon Princedom in the World Beyond Death..."
A wandering flagellant monk of the Empire walked forward of his own volition. He began to address his executioners as he stood there, meek yet self-righteous. Until a steel-gar quickly took his tongue.
>>
"To My Own Horde!"
Mailled fists were raised, blades hefted skyward, & cheers resounded.

"To Myself, High Zar Ivan of the Wheatlands, King of Ivanoslav, Dragon Prince of the Melniboneans; to my Conquests of Aeslings, Kislev, & beyond..."
Among his servants, one was suddenly seized, a mock crown with teeth placed atop their head... The mutterings of innocence, of loyalty, of their betrayal being falsehood & rumor, their ambitions humble, were ended swiftly enough with a shaft of iron & oak through the sternum, silent gasping & gurgling replacing them.

"To my Black Blade, Stormbringer, Hungry for Blood & Souls!"
A Kislevite bed-warmer, one of many women taken in past raids, was dragged up the steps. Ivan ripped the gag from her mouth & without hesitation or ceasing she spoke of how the Chekists demanded information of her, of how they held her family hostage, of how she was only disloyal due to coercion, but the babbling was cut short as the Black Blade pierced flesh & bone, followed by the direwolf-fur lined boot defenestrating her off of the castle walls.

"To my Fallen Warriors, May they Ride the Plains beyond Death in Glory, Forever!"
The final sacrifice, a Gospodar streltsy still wearing his empty brace-of-pistols, stood as helpless as a marauder without a horse. To his credit, he did not cry out as each of his limbs was struck with javelins, not until the last to be cast went into his gut & blood coated his kossar moustache.

Turning to those gathered once more, he beckoned to a servant with a rook perched upon their sleeve, & whispered back & forth briefly. Then he dismissed them & spoke:

"My scouts have seen movements among the heretic hosts. Karag Dum must wait; we will begin our march on Chamon Dharek in a mere day's time! King Sjur, prepare your ships to sail us towards this great war of Northern honor!"
>>
To his attendants, High Zar Ivan left parting commands:
-To raise mammoths in ever greater numbers for the campaigns ahead; nourished with wheat soaked in the blood of corpse-strewn battlefields, there need be no fear of their pups despoiling the bounty of the land.
-To have the Daemon-Smith Grazhoak lavished with servant-slaves, wines & wodkas, fine foods, & rare catalysts such as can be sourced, so long as he deigns to stay; upon his leaving to exchange learned slaves with him so that messages may be passed.
-To allow the free passage of Roppsmenn riders, Baersonling bondsmen, plus Goromadny streltsi, as well as to assist with slave labor in the building of a settlement for said Roppsmenn.
-To free any Roppsmenn, Baersons, Goromadny Tribesmen, Sarls, Fjellsende, or other Kyazaks found to be enslaved so long as they either serve the Four with sincerity or join the freeriders of the Z'ra, but swear blood-oaths of fealty to the High Zar in either case.
-To hand-over & sacrifice new captives from Kislev to the Melniboneans & their Venerated Aspect of Loesh, whatever it may be, so that the Elf-Men might grow their numbers.

As the horde began to sail, ride, & march for war, it numbered thus:
-Goromadny Streltsy x1
-Sarl Bondsmen x2
-Sarl Berserkers x2
-Horse Archers x6 (Ykthuk, Rozyk, & Kazis; Misc Kyazak, Dolgan, & Kurgan)
-Sarl Huscarls x1
-Fimir x2
-Melniboneans x3
-Chaos Knights +2D x1 (Zar Ivan wields Stormbringer)
-War Mammoths x2
-Daemon Powered Automata x1

It is time for the hosts of chaos, the slaves of darkness, the servants of the four to march southwards, lead by their great champions and warriors, in a, for once, not a conquest, but a defense of a site many hold sacred, for the sake of imprisoning a creature they had, until last year, sought to free. Shamans rave in half lunacy, warriors bravely march and ride into battle and great songs are sung as powerful drums are beat and mighty horns blown. It seems it is time for a great clash of warriors against a mighty foe which will draw many great warriors into a great slaughter.
Mighty and countless columns of warriors will draw for many miles as they head off south and west.

I am introducing a new rule, your character is now required to be assigned to a unit, giving said unit +1D and +1 attack. If said unit is killed, you will be given a diceroll, depending on the situation, to save yourself through a short and narrative fight. If you die, your forces might scatter or might be given a opportunity to be rallied by other players, depending on the distance. In case other bonuses are already applied to units, these ones stack.

Once you die, it's ogre.
>>
As for the invasion itself, it is assumed, not without reason, that the main force will come from Karag Dum, and therefore through Belyevobota pass and the Goromadny mountains at the Baersonling lands, but one is not to discount additional attacks either from the Kislevite lands, the sea or the Sarl or even Aesling territories.
>>
>>6154330
Does that mean the Wheatlands & Karag Dum are deployment options, or do I not need to worry about defense?
>>
>>6154329
+1D & +1 Attack
Do you mean damage & initiative?
>>
>>6154394
Damage and one more attack. Instead of hitting once, they can hit twice.

Before we start deploying, we should come up with some plans.
This is probably our hardest battle, so we can't just wing it like usual.
Not only are we on the defensive, but we've seen how the enemy is willing to just ignore our troops and go around them to get to their goal like they did with Magor.

With that in mind, I'd suggest that we focus most of our forces on creating a tight perimeter around the region where Chamon Dharek is located. I outlined this in red. From there, the extra units we have left over can either be kept closer inside as a second layer, or be placed further out in advantageous locations which I've drawn in orange. Cavalry can be placed in spots that let them maneuver around while still having the initiative advantage, which has been marked in magenta/pink.

Some of these outer spots would be best for units that are intended to be sacrificed, such as the Bloodletters of Khorne, or the high HP units.
I would also recommend that we keep a strong detachment of units surrounding Chamon Dharek at all times so that the enemy can't try anything sneaky by sailing right up to the coast.
If anything, it might be best if said detachment is entirely comprised of our Warlord unit. As powerful as the extra attack per turn is, I think it's more valuable to not risk jeopardizing the entire rest of our forces. At least, not until we've started taking heavy losses on the front lines.

Anyways, that's just my idea. What do you guys think?
>>
>>6154435
No one else would strike at Karag Dum en masse? We can end them in one swift battle.
>>
>>6154435
It feels like there should be some bonus (or some malus if you do not) to keeping your Warlord unit amidst the rest of your armies. Lanu hasn't mentioned one, but it certainly feels a bit off just to keep the Warlords all together rather then leading mostly their own forces.

The Orange sites with the woodlands seem like they'd be good spots for the Beastlords.

Would it be worth putting our faster elements further to the east, and fighting a fighting retreat westward across the plains and rivers to allow us to deplete and stagger their arrivals, rather then facing a single unified death-wave march?
>>
>>6154329
All the villages with chaos marks are allied, yes?
>>
>>6154465
Destroyed. The Baersons & Sarls are allied to us.
>>
>>6154329
Actually, question for Lanu. First, is the southern border undeployable because the enemy will actually attack from that direction, or is it just because the Kislevites will attack us if we go any further?
Secondly, are we able to make fortifications like we did with Ivanoslav? Things such as digging moats or building walled encampments?

>>6154463
>Would it be worth putting our faster elements further to the east, and fighting a fighting retreat westward...
Not a bad idea, but I think we should only try that if we have a surplus of troops to protect the main area. It might be too risky if we don't have enough to properly guard Chamon Dharek.
As for the warlords, my suggestions are only going off of what we currently know. If other stuff gets revealed, then that changes things. For example, once we see where the enemy is primarily attacking from, we could reorient our personal unit towards where the bulk of their forces will attack from.

>>6154460
I don't want to risk it. What if it ends up being like Hell Pit and it's actually a larger area than we expected?

The cavalry, light infantry, my elephantry, etc. we send to Chamon Dharek. We can wipe out the hag forces & plunder the vast riches of the place. At the very least, we'll stem the tide that reaches Chamon & secure some loot to buy Skinwolves on the way there.

Kislevites would attack you.

Good idea, I'll let anyone build fortifications (1 fortification per 3 units in army, rounded up), they can be built anywhere where you can deploy units and they'll function identically to tier 1 settlements.

While my Ungors fight best in woodlands, there isn't much of it there to exploit.

We pair well with other strong forces who can pin the enemy down and allow us to flank, or cavalry that can handle the enemy's cavalry.

I want to know more about my fellow Chaos Lords deployment a bit before deploying my ungors, but I will deploy all the same (working a night shfit I'll keep up with the thread)
>>
Well, if no one is willing to strike at their fortress, my suggestions are as follows:

Beastmen post up in the two forests nearby & dig fortifications there (Stealth + Defense)

Infantry on the hills surrounding the Dharek, at the Apponian Ruins, at Zamak Spayenya, & along the rivers to bog down the enemy as they approach.

Cavalry in an arc from North to East to South around the site.

Personally I'll send a small force to scout the Sarl & Fjellsende lands if feasible.

Okay, now that we know the enemy (probably) won't be attacking from the south, that gives us a much better idea of where they will actually be coming from.
I have drawn in red arrows where it seems they will be deploying. Knowing that, it seems like there will be two main fronts. One to the western coast, and one from the eastern north.
If we deploy units out there to face them head on, then I have outlined in orange the area where I'd suggest people place your units + fortifications.

If they outnumber us, then we want to fight their units one at a time rather than let them swarm/surround our troops.

I also placed a little orange band down below since we probably won't need as many troops left to guard now that we can place a few fortifications.

Oh, one more question.
If Sunset dies, I plan on having Rue'Vahn commit suicide. I've had that personal rule ever since the first raid, but thankfully I've managed to keep her all the way. So I'd like to ask if both Rue'Vahns unit and Sunset can count as my Warlord unit since I intend to for the death of either of them to have the same game-over consequence for me.

Oh shit, you're right.
I was wondering how else to explain the two war beasts, but I forgot about that weird bird thing that I "tamed" in the Aesling lands. Okay, narratively I guess we can just say that like the veterans, the monster merely retreated after Ostrosk rather than died, and has since rejoined with the army.
Although instead of mounted, I can flavor it that they're just fighting side by side while he's in his Kadon form via the ring, right?

i would suggest keeping the bloodletters in proximity but not net to units we expect to get attacked early so we can bleed the enemy and then murder some of their more elite units.

I would volunteer a couple of my Bearserkers(3) and Thralls(3) as cannon fodder

Skinwolveskept in reserve near Chamon Dahrek and Chaos Warriors kept close to the coast where they can get in their Longboats and quickly redeploy if necessary.

and build up some fortifications near the northern front where i also intend to deploy my Knights with Mulrog as their Leader.

Lanu, can we build fortifications within forest tiles & atop hills?

The points Rue'Vahn identified could be locked down with a few garrison points, then we could just send cavalry if the foe rides from the South or lands to the West. I'll handle the Sarls with my cav. Anyway, between Huffud & myself, that's 9 or more fortification points already.
>>
Just to clatify for everyone, the two pink tier 3 settlements surrounded by rivers are Fimir who are allied to me, the dark red & brick colored settlements in the Northeast are the allied Baersons & their wolfman villages, & the dark blue-grey to the Northwest are the Sarls who are split at the moment between my allied NPCs, Nurglings, & loyalists to their former king & his sons. We could possibly convince the Nurglings to attack the invaders, but it would be a risky endeavor. I'll handle the Sarls as a whole though.

Yes. Not that it'd help you much more, but yes, you can.

So, do you guys need any help deploying?

At this point, we need to roll for who gets to garrison the Dharek I would say. I'll fortify the pass near the White Tier 3 Settlement to the North, then Eastward. Won't have enough fortifications unless someone can "lend" me a few. Everything West of that pass, someone else will have to lockdown. I'll make a map today.
>>

WESTWARD, not Eastward. Basically just Northern Troll Country & across the Sea of Claws.

sorry for sidewaysing it (Khakkekk)
I used Rue'Vahn's edit since the one Lanu posted is too large; green outlined areas are where we should fortify besides around Chamon Dharek itself. The black arches are where I would place fortifications to bulwark the Northwest. I just need a small loan of 3 fortifications to pull it off, I only have 7 of my own based on number of units.
>>
>>6155836
Lastly, I'll send my cav around the Sarl villages of the peninsula, so leave those for me as well

Ivan steels himself before entering the deep, dark, windowless cavern of the troll king. He definitively doesn't enjoy the idea of entering said lair, yet makes himself do it. So, I have 9 infantry units, 21 altogether. Lanu said that for every 3 units you have, fortifications can be built before the siege starts, thus 7 total. Those areas I marked to the North, I could easily hold with a few more fortifications & a few more troops to guard. Thus I'm asking to borrow 3 Ungors or Thralls, & 4 fortifications. You have 29 units right? Rounded up, you can build 10 fortifications.
>>
Here's the infantry & fortification half of my deployment. Daemon Automata at the Apponian Ruins so they can be sent to deal with any encroaching threats.

Magor, I would recommend setting up a perimeter around the coast & the river to the South in addition to manning the hills of the Dharek. I'll handle the Sarls of the peninsula with my cavalry/elephantry.

The rest of the Warlords, the other passes to the East can be sealed off as well with fortifications, especially with Baerson settlements as passive defense.

i am gonna defend the coast just to the west of Chamo Dahrek.

Dug in Chaos Warriors and Bearserkers in Forts as well as forests to lure an enemy into maybe landing in the forests and getting an unwelcome surprise.

i think i will be able to hold the middle passes easily with the Bloodletters, Baerserkers and Thralls. Though the northern one will need some more fortifications.

My personal Knight honor guard, headed by myself will be just south of the Grand ritual site to help slow down and obliterate whatever the enemy might want to throw at us from down south. Together with my other unit of knights that should be quite doable.... what with dealing 5 damage twice per turn. like. i will oneshot Chaos Knights and some mosntrous creatures no problem.

Both of those are within Baersonling lands, so the settlements are friendly and should provide passive defense, plus you can simply garrison them yourself if it would be more advantageous. Keep in mind you can use fortifications & the stealth bonus of the forests to hem foes in. Those two passes are likely to be heavy traffic areas for the invaders coming from Karag Dum, so if you do post your cows there, be sure they are in a formation to form an impenetrable bulwark. Also keep in mind the initiative bonus from attacking foes still in the water/on ships.

"Magi, move as one, leave nothing alive in this cave away from the throne! Vorrox, defend the knight as he reloads! Krom, I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember if we were great men or terrible. Why we fought, or why we died. All that matters is that few stood against many. That’s what’s important! If the Kislevites are already going to attack, your forces should act as a solid bulwark & be available to reinforce the Northeastern passes from there. Otherwise, that much cavalry amassed on the plains may serve as a provocation. The beastmen in forests & fimir in water should be stealthy enough not to attract notice, while the others should be far enough away to be beyond notice. Although Fort Straghov to the North may seek to gain reinforcements, so AA Archers may be called for to prevent messenger birds from getting out.

Now that I think about it, the Dorfs may see our encampments as much the same, & strike at us before we can launch raids on them in their minds. Perhaps some letters should be sent via especially short slaves to their holds, warning about the invaders & stating that we have no intention of attack, this season anyway...
>>
>>6158323
Perhaps even the cutoff Gospodars & Ungols may see reason if overtures are made to them at their Northern fort. We allow them to evacuate their civilians under their own guard, while amy who wish to remain garrison the walls against the more pressing threat.

The cannon doesn't work out. Neither do the mages. In a few great sweeps, bodies are crushed, limbs plucked and the head of the chaos knight assigned to carry the cannon is removed by a swipe of a northern tree trunk, used as a club by a troll. The Balefiend, clumsy on dry ground, finds his chest caved in by a thrown rock, Vorrox throws himself at a troll to grant Ivan a few more moments, only to have himself impaled on a crude dagger fashioned of a sabre, wielded by a different troll.
Yet, Ivan draws the great black blade. In a moment, all reason stops. He throws himself at the nearest, his blade merely clipping the foot of the troll, then whirling around with unnatural agility, bending his spine to avoid a horizontal swipe of a club whose mearest outlines can be seen in the near dark, bouncing back, then thrusting into the trolls biceps, then swirling around to face a third, jumping into it, sword braced like a lance, impaling the great beast.
Ivan keeps moving. Thrusting, cutting, knapping the great beasts, his cursed black blade finishing the rest, sucking their souls away. By the end, Ivan, covered in blood of two dozen trolls, thrusts his blade into the throat of the troll king, claiming the greatest prize for his black blade yet.

(I really thought I was fucked on this one)

Ivan tore the greatsword, runes aglow upon its length, from the nearly foot-thick flesh of the Troll King's throat. Dark red blood spilled down upon his face as he raised it to the unseen sky within the gloom. "HAIL TO THE EVER-HUNGERING STORMBRINGER, PRAISES BE SUNG TO THE MIGHTY KROM! ARISE ALL WHO YET DRAW BREATH IN THE HALL OF THE MOUNTAIN KING & WITNESS THE GLORY OF MY TRIUMPH!" The Zar, the King, looked down upon the giant beast before him, & saw the golden crown that ringed its ivory tusk. It fit upon his head, over the robe pulled atop his temple-helm. He felt a sudden, strange feeling overtake him as it touched his brow...
>???

He gazed about the cavern for his dark magi, the Sarl Vitki Orokia, the Melnibonean Dragon-Sorcerer Chebelech, & the Silent One in Red Lacquer.
>Do they still draw breath with which to answer?

Finally, he gazes once more upon the corpse laying at the foot of the stone throne. "AWAKEN, MUSTAKRAKISH! Or whatever you should call yourself you oversized Goblin! I'm the commander of demons! I'm the father of your death! I bring forth this ancient evil! I now control your every breath! I am master of your misfortune! With this blade of killing trolls! I awaken armageddon! My sword, feeding on a thousand souls! I command you to RISE!" A boot to the side of the head struck the creature, before the Troll-Slayer continued. "Swear your fealty & your tide of beastflesh to me, before all your Gods & my own, & I shall take only your beating heart & hordes of riches. Both can be replaced by one such as yourself. You shall send a thrall to accompany me from whom I will receive your reports & tributes. Play dead, think to withhold something from me, attempt to bargain, to scheme of betrayal? I will claim your very hide to warm my horse's back, your cauterized head to adorn my throne, & every one of your kind I will hunt down & reduce to ash! Now, speak!"

Oh fuck. I saw that someone had a few troops there but I did not realize it was the bloodletters who have friendly fire.

In that case, what do you think about relocating the bloodletters that I circled in red? I can build two fortifications for them in the plains that I circled in black so that they always strike first?
I can fill those empty spots where the bloodletters used to be with my own troops.
I can even keep some spare chaos warriors a few tiles behind the bloodletters in case the enemy starts to overrun the demons.
>>
>>6158601
I thought the south was safe. But very well!
>>
>>6158571
>>6158612
Huffud & Magor, feel free to ignore my micro-management, but keep in mind the following:
-Hills boost sight-lines by 1 hex & boost initiative
-Forests reduce enemy sight-lines to 1 hex & boost initiative
-Water reduces initiative significantly
Thus this plan that emphasizes intercepting the enemy with multiple units, maximizing sight lines, plus making use of hills & forests.

Black Arches = Fortifications
White Dots = Ungors
White Letters = Magor's Elites
Grey Boat = Chaos Warriors' Ship (to move Huffud's heavy units to another area if needed)
Grey Letters = Huffud's Cows, Daemons, etc.

I am assuming that the Daemons Huffud got DO NOT have frenzy/friendly warp-fire. If I'm wrong, the Minotaurs definitely need to be moved back.

I'm rando IP range banned so the image will have to come later.
>>
>>6158628

…this is certainly not an unbreakable line. What’s the purpose of the second line of Minotaurs in the east? They can’t fight, and they block the retreat for the daemons.

My formation was meant for the purpose of maximizing the amount of contact my units would have with the enemy while minimizing the amount of contact the enemy would have with my units.

But I submit to your greater knowledge of the rules- though I’d like an explanation
>>
>>6158790
>>6158866
To the right, each way through the pass the enemy would be simultaneously struck by the Daemons & Minotaurs, the prior of which are guarding both passes, thus fortifications to boost their tanking slightly.

To the left, all foes would have to advance while being bogged down by water, taking on two units at once, or both. Chaos Warriors have access to their ship & can easily pickup another of your units for redeployment. Previously, your units were in the water, reducing their already low initiative due to tankiness even lower. Basically suicide.

Unrelated, but I don't get the Fimir. Seems like they should act more akin to an ant colony rather than the Broo. Doesn't make sense for Swamp Lizard Cyclops to have existed before humanity but need them to further their generations.
>>
>>6158890
You know what? I accept this reasoning. My thinking was “my initiative is already so low, there’s no further loss in lowering it further”.

But I’ll take your plan and make it my own

Added some additional ungors (you only put 20 I have 29 - but you have four of them of mine to the north)

I'm still unsure exactly why you suggest I deploy south when I was under the impression the south is safe, or why we are placing fortifications south of the river instead of north, but I trust your judgement has a reason.

These isolated ungors aren't going to hold out very long. I gather they are to hold their positions and slow the enemy down? Otherwise I'd probably just retreat them back across the river to reform into a larger line.

>>6158452
My new deployment Lanu.
Not seen are the four ungors Ivan requested up north.
>>
>>6158962
The idea is to have fortification points where they can see the enemy coming & holdout until the horde can reinforcement them. The enemy could land on the coast to the South, or the Kislevites could surge North, & the river of course will bog them down so they're easy kills & the cav can't mog your infantry.

Hey Mulrog, what do you think about >>6158609 ?
Pic related is just an updated version in accordance with Lanu's review.
With the bloodletters on the high ground fortifications that I built, they'll get to attack first twice in a row as well as have the +1 HP. In which case, that'd mean that my chaos warriors are ready to reinforce them from outside of the freindly-fire range in case the demons start to get overrun.

I also red circled that other unit of bloodletters in case you want to swap him too with one of my spare chaos warriors. I don't know if he'll be able to attack twice if that valley is only one tile wide.

>>6161033
Doing the finishing touches on deployment plans, and I haven't gotten around to a second draft of the sketches ngl. Speaking of which, question for the QM.
Would you like me to also include you in some capacity? I could include the Bird-witch in the line up despite being our enemy since oog we're all still friends here.

>He felt a sudden, strange feeling overtake him as it touched his brow...
The thirst. His throat was dry. He thirsted for blood. He lusted for the thrill of battle, he desired to claim souls to pull the chariots of his master. (+1 A per turn gained for Ivan's unit)

>Do they still draw breath with which to answer?
Only Chebelech draws breath, yet both his legs are shattered and hang limply at the midway point of his thighs. If he is to be saved, they must be amputated and cauterized.

>Does he speak? Whom (& what) does he send to serve me?
You hear some scratching sounds, but before you can find their source, it stops. A thorough search through the cave finds too many branching paths of too flimsy a footing for you to dare to descend down them.

Turn 1:
It is with alarming speed that the plumes of black smoke arise from the Baersonling lands. And it is perhaps, more alarming that no refugees come forth. Yet, your first sight of them, by Huffud's own guard, turns out to be a very unnerving one. On the other side of the stream stands a mixture of silhouettes, smooth, white, the sunlight reflecting off of them, the long, muscular bodies with smooth, featureless heads and long, unnaturally long arms, extending into massively oversized hands that drip with blood. The very movement, from what you can see on the other end of the streams gorge seems off, jerking back and forwards in time, yet the moves obviously have elegance, power and intent behind them.

Though the spell-weavers were headless, respect was nonetheless paid to them, their bones interred beneath stone kurgans in the traditions of his ancestors. >Got any lore for these guys Lanu, especially The Silent One? Intriguing character

As you can probably guess, I'm going to diplomancemax at every opportunity...

Ivan received word from his scouts & sentries of the vast hordes suddenly encroaching. Thus, he sent the prepared orders & letters forth:

The scrawniest, most misshapen, wretched looking, ugly, & generally offputting man among the slaves & captives is painted green with pigments from crushed lichens, mosses, & scraggly weeds of the Troll Country steppes. He is given a choice: holocaust by way of a small spit lined with blades, or to deliver a message... He is marched by an attending horseman to just beyond the lair of the greenskins, instructed to call himself "Grob da Gobbo," & to hop up & down while screaming "waaaaggghhhh!" & shouting about "strong gitz" killing all the warriors to the North, & how good a fight it would be. From there, he is free to escape or lead the way of the orks & goblins, & later return for a boat & his weight in gold. If he should turn back at the last moment before he reaches their camp, he will be rode down & crippled with arrows, left to be eaten alive or otherwise butchered by the foul bugbears. If he should make contact with the fabled Black Witch of the Crags of Shargun as well upon escaping them, & open up dialogue with her by way of offering captives in return for her aid against the invaders, he shall receive twice his weight in gold upon the conclusion of these battles.
>Goad Greenskins into Attacking the Invaders

Couriers scoured the lands surrounding the raized villages of the Fjell tribe, bearing the following words,
"Hail Men of the Fjellsende,
High Zar Ivan of the Dolgan calls for you to avenge yourselves! My hosts too seek retribution upon the perfidious Aeslings, & a more pressing foe that would burn the idols to our Gods. Heed this summons, lest the pride & sacrifices of your ancestors be for nothing. Rally together to the horde with haste, & keep the honor & name of your tribe alive! Meanwhile, the settlements directly before the main horse-host of the Dolgan lord were delivered other letters,

"Hail Men of the Sarl,

We bring ill tidings of the works of blasphemers against the Gods; they seek to destroy the holy site of Chamon Dharek & all in their path. A single raven carried aloft a hide-scrawled letter to the remaining Kislevite stronghold of the North,
"Hail to the defenders, be they Gospodar, Roppsmenn, or Ungols, of the defiant Fort Straghov,
Our hosts bypassed you in seasons past, seeking the great treasures of your southerly kinsmen. Of this season, we both have far greater foes to contend with. A horde of heretics, even amongst our kind by your reckoning, strikes out to destroy all in their path. Glory & gold do not avail them; only the destruction of all in their path. With us, you know what is at stake, & what bargains may be struck. We cannot offer you peace in good faith, only a reprieve at our whims between raids. This terrible foe however, does not entertain even those notions. Rally your allies among the Dorfs to this threat, so that our own bastions & theirs may suffice as bulwarks against these fiends. Whomsoever among you rules as Rotamaster, Otaman, Ataman, Hetman, Druzhina, Boyar, or Duke, send word & we may be inclined to allow reinforcements to pass peaceably past our own lines, should you swear upon your Ice-Queen, Gods, & Ancestors that they shall not strike at us until these invaders are dead, & we too may exchange such oaths of blood & honor before our own Deities & Forefathers. Choose instead stubborn foolishness, & no guarantees may be made, leaving your men between the hammer of the blasphemous legion & the anvil of our blood-thirsty warriors.
So say I,

The force to the east is massive beyond understanding, the composition unknown. The Eastern riders turn their horses to the west to bring word of their numbers approaching.

The riders near the Tolsol also head eastward, but stick closer to the river. Though the full force on the south of the river is larger then ours, perhaps if they try to cross we might shatter their fore or a flank before wheeling away.

Hold Positions! Our job is to delay the enemy as far as possible.

Meanwhile, now that I am at Chamon Dharek, I would like to consult priests and shamans. What can be done with the half-demons?

Much to your surprise, you not only manage to not vomit (despite gagging) from eating the troll heart, but you also manage to not die from the stomach pains afterwards, tho you are stuck vomiting and shitting for the following days. You very much so regret the choice of your food in-between bouts of shaking, diharreia and fever, but eventually, with enough tea, magical rocks, alcohol, soup and medicine, you do recover.

The ugly slave disappears into the steppe. Hopefully, good will come from his efforts.

Your scouts skills at identifying and contacting the Sarls leave much to desire as a flood of conflicting reports, inaccurate statements, hyperbole and disagreements leave you with a image even more confusing than the blank slate you had before.

Fort Straghov is, to the best of your knowledge, currently occupied by bloodletters and was before that, abandoned. One of your scouts, a especially dimwitted and strong Kurgan, a son of the retarded daughter of the tribal idiot and one of the company of mercenary norse bondsmen that marched with the tribe (and through the retarded daughter), attempts to satiate his lust on a bloodletterette after getting sufficiently drunk. It is a hilarious show for the scouts and the handlers of the bloodletterettes as the idiotmanages to lift and somehow pin the demon using the enchanted chains. He is ultimately successful and manages to rape her, let doesn't manage to return alive, as on his sprint backwards, he ends up tripping on the chain and ends up mauled to death.

>I knew the villages were all destroyed, I was hoping to find surviving Fjellsendemen in the caves, forests, & hills of their former lands.
The extent of what you find isn't enough to constitute a unit of thralls, let alone something formidable.

>>6164656
After careful inspection, the shaman informs you that he may be able to bind them to your will, should you wish so and that they'll be a formidable fighting force, if a reluctant one.

In the east, Huffud's minotaurs and bound demons make a wonderful defense, the wave of giant, hulking porcelain brutes slams into the lines of the minotaurs, the great clubs and cleavers of the beasts slam into the smooth white muscles and claws of the beasts, both the smooth stone and the wood and metal breaking and bending, getting razor sharp claws slicing into their flesh and teeth biting into it. Yet the clash is decided when the demons, their limbs unbound at the cost of some of their handlers lives, are herded forwards into the tide, sweeping it away like a horde of rabid dogs, their chaos infused limbs meeting their equal.

To the west, two hordes try attacking the war mammoth clad in dwarven plate with the greatest of them bearing the great she-cow monster on its back, like a horse might bear a rider. Yet, on their climb up the slope, the same slope where Krantagarh almost met his end years ago, they meet their end, the tusks, connected by enchanted chains, break limbs, warriors shoot arrows, throw stones, javelins, axes, logs, then eventually themselves, at the mobs attacking them. By the end of the brief, decidedly one sided, yet horrifically vicious fight, the attacking horde is shattered.

Ivan's men are meeting their match as two units of berserkers hold the fortified lines, only to meet a determined attack. The porcelain brutes either break the wall in a charge, their bulk simply slamming the logs aside, or break through them, their powerful limbs strong enough to simply slam the wood into splinters. The berserkers charge forwards, throwing themselves with their axes, swords and spears into the fray, dying to the last.

To the south, the ungors, even behind their fortifications, struggle to deal with the invaders. In the two western strongpoints, they are simply bested in arms. Their volleys of arrows ineffective, their spear jabs not fast or strong enough to deal with the invaders. And their deaths brutal. The berserkers grimly look as their furred allies are simply torn, limb from limb in spectacular displays of gore.

The two eastern strongpoints fall with even more speed and even less losses for the porcelaintide, as the feminine, long armed figures, with their absurdly long limbs simply run into the fortified camps, leaping over the fortifications and into the disordered mobs of ungors, eviscerating any who get within their reach.

Mulrog, dibs on any Half-Daemon Half-Oaf offspring!
Actually I was hoping for Ulrika Straghov to seek me out since her fort was sacked (& last season, elite troops were still there.) I'll have to find a vampire wife elsewhere I suppose.
Less than a unit of thralls, eh? I would still have the survivors presented to me, perhaps some future use can be found.
>>6164802

To each of the Sarl villages, a band of horse archers & a lance of war mammoths are sent forth, or for the largest, Ivan's own chaos knights. [H5 D5 M3 I-2 A3 Cav]
A simple message is given to each, "Join or perish." Bonfires, smoking branches, & flaming arrows are prepared in case of an uncooperative Nurglite presence.

The mountain passes defenders are shuffled around; the Eastern Melniboneans retreat across the water while there is still time to sturdier defenses. The Western Elf-Men vacate their fortifications to allow the Goromadny Streltsi to pass through, before returning to the same garrison.

My recommendations as well. Other units in the backrow should likely be moved into place also. The hills & flat tiles next to rivers are basically trading one initiative bonus for another, possibly greater one against waterlogged foes.
>>

i cant pull the bearserkers back. they will get caught in the river and slaughtered. maybe they can still do some damage on their little fort
>>

The hill might stop the Ceramites™ movement, but you're right that it might not. In that case, you may wish to move them forward instead, so the foe doesn't gain a hilltop fort health & initiative bonus.

The Knights are now too far from the river to charge those that cross, the course of the future is set already and we must stand with our decision. Let us instead pull back, and be the witness of how fast these things can move across open ground.

In the south, the lines of statuary do not move nothward but instead plunge restlessly to the west. We shall shadow them, seek to cross the river ourselves, and then come down upon them as reinforcement for the Ungors in the south.

The Eastern pass I will allow to fall; Tchar willing, the Bondsmen will be able to hold out at Wintertooth. The column emerging from the East I will meet with my cavalry on the open plains. Should Magor survive, I will add further to the debts I owe him.

Chebelech still lives, & thus does the High Zar drift into a Warp-Dream with sorcerous aide. He scouts the distant ruins of Karag Dum, asleep in his warded panoply. Upon awaking, he holds an audience with the depleted Sarls & Fjellsendes.

It is in Karag Dum that Ivan spots the crow headed sorceress as she is holding an audience... with herself. With a dozen of herself. A calm council of a dozen of herself is conversing in hushed tones, then stopping the audience as Ivan enters.
"Shouldn't you be fighting, High Zar?" A mocking voice says. It is not the voice of the crow, but of a porcelain figure, somewhat like the ones that were faced to the south by Magor and Hangar, yet grander, better shaped and certainly more imposing. "You could have been much more." Her voice says, as if looking up, admiring, then turns into a confident, then disgusted tone "But now your corpse shall be fed to the crows, your eyes plucked, your tongue thrown to the maggots and your heart fed to the dogs. And all for nothing. If not tomorrow, then in a century, or a millennia or ten of them." She pauses, then continues. "Go on. Die. Your gods shall like that." The next moment, she thrusts her hand towards Ivan's neck. Ivan awakes with a shriek, his throat aching.

>>
>>6169051
Mulrog cares little for the Greenskins Gods. Though he does appreciate their fighting spirit.
>>
The High Zar is certainly a Tcharite, partial to plots & plans to gain advantages, turn potential foes to allies, & gain power wherever it can be taken hold of. That said, he also worships Khorne, who loathes sorcery & despises dishonesty, thus he does not weave spells himself, as well as Krom, who suffers not cowards upon their ignomious deaths.

As a Dolgan, he has slew Hungolians & Hobgobs of the Khanzarate since he was old enough to throw a javelin from horseback. He has dealt with them times enough to know of their low cunning & come to despise it; thus Mork (or was it Gork?) rates quite poorly in his mind. Then again, the Hobgoblins worship more Gods than just the Green Brothers... (at least in my worldbuilding ideas, & I don't know of it being confirmed anywhere who they worship in lore) Gork (or was it Mork?) might be alright as a straight-forward warrior deity, but the Hobgobs are clearly not as fond of him. Khakkekk is an unknown, whispered of by esoteric wind-weavers & cults to the Dark Gods. The Zar has no strong opinion just yet.

>>
>>6169502
All my stuff is back at college, and I'm visiting my family rn for Christmas / New Years
I still plan on doing it, but the second draft / final drawing might not be done till the end of the qst. A nice memento send off was my idea, although I could probably post it sooner if I finish it early.

That's badass, I didn't even know there were LotR minis.

Dope, don't forget our absent bros, gone but not forgotten, & who knows they might come back if there's a Thread 5.
>>

Oh Ivan. They exist alright. Created by Games Workshop. Though they are still cheaper than many warhammer models.

Magor. Do you see yourself represented somewhere in these Fiendbloods?

I like the long hooded one pointing over on the right!

So Rue. What color is sunset. I guess your own armor is mostly black with some Silver and Gold trim. Equipped with Shield and Longsword?

Alright, first of all, sorry for the long break, had some traveling and I actually didn't have the internet for any of it.

Ivan's lines are being dismantled by systemic assaults, charges and strikes. In the east, the brutes are fording the streams, while in the west, his Kislevite soldiers find themselves being torn apart in smoldering ruins of their fortifications.

Huffud's hordes find themselves fighting to almost the last, Huffud, bleeding from a great wound on the neck, is barely carried away by her armoured mammoth, a small flock, maybe a quarter of the size of the original flock stands, Roxannas armoured veterans on her flank, standing ankle deep in porcelain.

While to the south, Magor's ungortide seems to stem the porcelaintide from flowing over the river as Zar Hangar rides westwards to join up his forces with those of his allies.

To the south, great campfires arise.

Pic related is a rough estimate of what I imagine Rue'Vahn to look like, still wearing his Undivided armor despite having become a devoted Slannesh follower. I don't actually care too much about what weapon he uses.

Here's the source material I loosely based Sunset off of. The only difference is that Rue'Vahn takes extra effort to clean and pamper her, although nobody would be able to tell just by looking from a distance; a person would have to get very close to examine her fur and whatnot.

We strike out, then ride back; we keep moving. That is the way in the wastes; for powers beyond mortal understanding serve the Great Four and their games are played with tokens of Flesh and Bone, and all who stand to fight will oft as not fall. Yet the upstart here crafts porcelain tokens, and we must beware as they stride across the plains; trusting only in the steeds beneath our loins and the blades in our hands. For all true gods are cruel gods, and our lives the coin they spend.

To the Northeast, my Huscarls & Ungors sail to reinforce the pass to the Northwest. To the Southwest, my War Mammoths travel to link up with Mulrog's Huscarls in the forest, so that we can sail together South into the enemy lines. The Sarls not replying in a timely manner really fucked up my cavalry formation plans, the mammoths are way too slow to position.

The meeting with the long-headed priest results in a blood binding oath and a loss of flesh (finger) from Magor's left hand. A branding of the half-demons with the blue flame deep under the Chamon Dharek and the cremation of Magors pinky results in the horde being bound to the ungor. By the end of the ceremony, the priest informs you that soon (the next turn), the horde will be ready to sally from the unholy mound.

Next turn please.

>>
Huscarls at the pass are to disengage to their ships in order to link up with the Melfs away from the fighting, at which point they can cross to link up at the forest fallback. The war mammoths are guided into the brush in order to ambush the foe as they are bogged down striding along the seabed. Cavalry form up into a formation to await & counter the charge of the foe. A letter is sent to the oath-sworn Thane of the nearby Sarl town to send his Huscarls in order to stop the enemy at the forest crossing before they can threaten his own lands.
>>
Edited the crossing for the Sea of Claws
>>
MULROG & MAGOR, not sure how you want to handle the corner there near the sea below the Golden Hillock, but between your Berzerks & Ungors respectively you can backup my War Mammoths.

The Fimir, following prior instructions to only strike when the foe will be caught off guard, remain in place at the confluence of rivers. They default to other commands given, chiefly attempting to sacrifice the gathered corpses of their slain foes to the Dark Gods, & send a message through mystic means in search of the Black Witch of Shargun in the Crags of The Blight to the South, entreating her for aide in return for great boons from their overlord.
>>
