The twins nod gratefully, their shivering lessening. Their minds were still in disarray but they were far calmer than before. They would be ready to go back soon without arousing Florencia's suspicions.
You begin to make your way toward the tent. The way was a bit difficult, Evantela's mere presence melting the snow around you, causing the way to become even more slick. At about the 3/4 mark, you nearly trip over a chunk of metal hidden under the snow. You turn and examine it more closely, the color draining from your face as the snow around it dissolved. It was Tessa's evicerator. The enormous sword had been snapped or sliced in half by something, the metal mangled and twisted. The flamer that Tessa had bolted to it still looked functional, but it was out of fuel.
The twins looked worried. Evangela's face was guarded. She nodded once to you and let herself rise into the air, gliding down toward the tent. The twins do the same with their jump packs. You stay there a moment longer before following suit, using your power to propell yourself forward much faster than the others had.
You skid to a stop in front of the tent. Now that you were closer you could see the massive amounts of debries scattered around the area. Danger here was immense. An ambush could be launched from anywhere.
You were about to enter the tent when a flicker of movement caught your eye. Before you could react, the twins cried out. Carol of them had been clubbed over the head with a metal pipe. Both twins fell, Carol unconscious, Coral clutching at her head, whimpering in pain.
Evangela reacted immedeatly, her chainsword roaring to life, blinding the twin's assailent, the light glinting off the gold trim on her badly damaged power armor. Her sash was badly ripped, the strip of cloth tied tightly around her head, covering her left eye.
