Neither the dragons or the men said anything, the man just raised his blade and readied himself, the others watched silently. They met with a clash, steel met steel as a fury of slashes, thrusts jabs, and kicks thundered out with a furious melody. They fought for hours, neither gaining the upperhand, neither willing to back down, both armies watched on in fearful astonishment. Soon however, Andrei fumbled a step, and the Knight gained the upperhand, pummeling down on him, tried to break his defense and lay the killing blow. Andrei soon back himself into a rock, and just as the final blow was coming down, he quickly dodged out of the way, and steel met rock. The force of the strike was so strong, the blade dug into the solid earth, so the Knight abandoned it as another threw a spear to him, however Andrei was quicker, and caught the spear mid throw, leveling it to point at the Knight. He just stood there as Andrei Strode up with me in one hand, spear in the other and slashed at his armored shell, only to have me ping off the armor. The Knight threw back his head and laughed, though his armored face did not betray his emotions, and turned, hauling his sword out of the stone. He turned to face Andrei, and Andrei offered the spear back to the Knight, who just pat him on the shoulder and left with his companions. That is my first and only encounter with the Dragonknights, savage to those who threaten their land, but honorable to a falt....though, I don't know how much of that has changed in the years since then."
"I don't understand, it doesn't really sound like Andrei won the fight." She says scratching her head. |
