YOU ARE YOU ARE ELIZA MCALLISTAIR. It's been two days since you had a close encounter with a mental breakdown in the Gym.

Currently you've just crossed the Canadian border into America into the Northern part of Washington state. Having passed through without incident, the crew breaths a collective sigh of relief. Will gives you a call into the briefing room. When you get there you see Abby, Ryan, Clint, and Mitch waiting there as well.

"Liz." Will greets you. "Now that you're here, we can begin."

"What's this about?" You ask, taking a seat.

"Quite simple: We're plotting our next move. Currently we need two things: Resources, and information. Looking over the possible trails of information, I see three possibilities for both." He turns on a screen, and a map of the United states appears. "We know so little that we aren't even sure they're local to HERE or some other part of the world. But right now, we've got three major cities we could be looking at. First is Portland. It's the closest to us Geographically, the Corps control every inch of the land, and most of the backroom politics happen here. These guys clearly had some connections to somebody big, so this would be a decent place to start. The locals also love to throw money at Core pilots, so it wouldn't be hard to get the supplies we need. The next is Detroit. What little is left of the Auto industry is there, and is also the primary headquarters of G.A. America, and primary productions facilities for all Core parts in North America. I'll be damned if we can't find a paper-trail to follow there."

He takes a deep breath. "Lastly... Las Vegas Nevada. Any large amount of money, criminal assets, or suspicious activities in America touch Vegas at least once. It's a giant sucking hole in the sociopolitical landscape that draws in money and corruption from the world over. All its ups and downs can be summed up thusly: It's fucking Vegas. I figured that since we're currently fugitives, I'm not technically the commanding officer, and therefore you lot should have a say in this as well."

    [ ] Detroit.
    [ ] Portland.

You cast your vote to Portland. Ryan says he's like to go anywhere but Detroit. Clint says Detroit or Portland are fine by him. Abby chooses to support you, and Mitch is very insistent on Vegas. "Guys, right now we're fugitives. Whether we're wrongfully accused is irrelevant: Alaska has resources all the corps want. We are currently hated by Alaska. Any corp that tries to do business with us ill risk getting themselves cut off from their shit. Vegas is the only place we can even pretend to stand a chance on the run."

Everyone concedes that he raises a good point, and he even comes close to persuading few of them. Then after a while he realizes he's going to lose the argument, slumps, and ten leaves while everyone else makes the final plans.

After a time, the course is set for Portland.

Will begins making plans, while everyone else scatters to their respective posts.

We aren't necessarily going to stay in Portland, but there's a lot of corp presence there and a lot of political deals are made there. Also it's pretty much on the way to both of the other destinations so it's not like the other options are off the table at this point. Also I don't really like or trust Mitch currently.

lessee here, chances of getting a number 10 or lower on a 20 sided dice is 1 in 2, so it's the equivalent of a coin coming up heads, because it's easier for me to think like that for some reason. chances of a coin coming up heads a number of times in a row is, letsee, 1 in 2 for the first time, 1 in 4, 1 in 8, 1 in 16, 1 in 32, 1 in 64, 1 in 128, and for the eighth time in a row, which is what we got, 1 in 256.

The two of you walk to the Cafe, and you note the second floor. Quietly you pull her along, and the two of you get a seat by the window. Dinner is nothing fancy, a sandwich and fries with some sort of house blend tea. It's almost elegant in it's simplicity.

Then the sun sets past the mountains in the distance, and as the last rays of light begin to fade you see the city light up before you. You tear away from the view to look at Elsie, and are rewarded by a look of pure enchantment on her face. A moment later she looks to you and leans across the table for a quick kiss.

    "Thank you."

    "For what?"

"For suggesting this. For coming out here and just exploring. I mean, I never imagined a city like this having..... a soul I guess. Everything seems so glamorous and superficial at first glance, but looking around...." She smiles as she looks away, back out the window. "At first I was determined to hate this place. It wasn't Hope, and it would never be. But now.... I get it. It's an altogether different thing."

She's radiant. You feel his heart sing with joy as the two of you grab your things and walk out the door to go home.

    >I think that's a good place to end for tonight. I think I'll do a quick Omake or two, But I apparently have to be up at six, and it's currently 1:30.

See you tomorrow then, sleep well. After tomorrow you might be able to stop running yourself quite so hard.

Kara takes a deep breath as this charming man she met today comes in closer to 'seal the deal'.

"Hey Steve? Kinda something we need to talk about before we uh...."

"What? Are you on the rag? I real man can love every day."

"Uh, no, it's just that... uh..." And he ust touched it. Another couple weeks and this wouldn't have been an issue.

"What's poking me in the leg?" He asks. A moment later, realization comes to his face. "I have been deceived." He observes as he calmly pushed her off his lap, to land roughly on the floor. "I HAVE BEEN DECEIVED." He says as he stands up and stares blankly ahead. Kara tries to say something to calm him down. "I HAVE BEEN DECEIVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED!" He yells in a desperate battle-cry as he charges across the room and leaps THROUGH the giant full length window, shattering it as he makes the full three story drop.

It's an omake, it's like a blooper or deleted scene, that kind of thing.
So no, or at least I hope not.

As he fell from the window down the three story drop, he reflected that it was a shame he had to keep a straight face as he did that. He had 'her' number, maybe he could give a consolation prize later.

It was about eight hours sooner than he planned, but as soon as his suspicions were confirmed, he knew he needed to get out before it got awkward.

Then, after the breif moment of introspection, he hits the water with a perfect jack-knife, and barely displaces a ripple before coming back out of the water next to an Indian woman on an inflatable raft.

    >Steve-vision engaged....
    >Face: Elegant, slightly large nose.
    >Breasts: C.
    >Ass: DAT.
    >Legs: All the way up.
    >Overall score: 8.5/10.

She took off her shades as he floated up next to her on his back. She gave him a quick once over, before looking him in the eye "I would ask if you were alright, but judging by your erection, I'd say you were fine."

    >Poised, aloof attitude.
    >Score correction: 8.7/10.

    "I'm better than fine."

    "Oh?"

    "I be awesome."

She rolled her eyes at him. He smiled and welcomed the challenge.

I think it's obvious. We're not actually Alex Raston, we're those two mysterious people who are mentioned in a coupe of threads who are somehow manipulating and controlling Alex (and now Liz as well). Remember how Elsie has noticed that Alex is acting strangely? That's because we're not Alex, and we're influencing him into acting in certain ways that aren't actually like him.
